Im sorry, if you can pls output my grammar mistakes for improvement.
I couldn’t understand half of what you wrote, bro.
For example:
”You can see for Survivors, decrease Gen time on Survivor isnt that great.”
This is an erroneous statement, since “decreased (less) gen time” (you forgot the D at the end of decrease) is better for survivors.
Also: “if default Gen time from 400sec increased by half to 600sec”
While you’re not technically incorrect, a clearer statement would be to say “default gen time increased by 50%”. Saying something increases by half isn’t the common expression.

@C3Tooth said:
Survivor relied on:
- Longer Chase time (Exhaustion)
- Decrease hooks happen (BT & DS)
- Decrease Gen time (Resilience, Prove thyself, Fast track...)
Killer relied on:
- Shorter Chase time (skill use of powers)
- Increase hooks happen (tunneling)
- Increase Gen time (slow down perks)
You can see for Survivors, decrease Gen time on Survivor isnt that great. The choice for Longer Chase time & Decrease hook may actual save much more time. For Killer, Shorter chase time & increase hook is kind of "build in", only Increase Gen time requires using perks. Of course 4 slowdown will be always the meta.
Pinhead has build in slowdown, but doesnt mean he should not use 4 slowdown. The more Gen time, the better.
4 Slowdown has potential of increase Gen time by another 400sec (800sec total). And eventually, if default Gen time from 400sec increased by half to 600sec, I swear people will keep using 4 slowdown. Why would people not using 4 Slowdown to increase Gen further from 600sec to 1000sec?
Bro your grammar took me for a spin here.

Hitbox is pretty damn small, but even if you hit your chain it will just break in 2 seconds… well before you can catch up.

Field of view options maybe, but the chasd music is integral to the balance and shouldn't be allowed to be disabled.
I disagree that chase music should go untouched. It’s way too damn loud at the moment, in my opinion. We should have the option to at least lower it a little bit… already hard enough to track survivors if they have Iron Will, Lucky Break and now Shadow Step…
-
Worst killer right now is arguably Legion. Nothing about their power helps you get a down - you’re a true Basic Attack killer in every sense of the word.
Most unhealthy killer right now is probably Trickster. He’s a trash overall killer with no map pressure, but a survivor is screwed if they are in an area with no LOS blockers or low loops (like Azarov garbage pile tiles).
-
Uhh just drop them over and over? Pretty clear you’re letting them go at that point.

Thrill is a variety perk because hardly anyone runs it. Perks synergizing with killer powers is good for the game.

i feel like having bird lady and pre-nerf thrill of the hunt would be the total opposite of 'variety' my dude, legit every bird lady mains will run that, me included ;p
You missed the point…
Now Artist will run the same boring gen regression perks every game: Ruin, Undying, Corrupt, Deadlock, maybe Tinkerer.

lets say ranked for SWF, casual for solo survivors. The reason for this is that teams are competitive by their very design and swf will be able to trash killers way to easily. and then ban meta perks for survivors and killers in casual. Watch as killers say that both modes are unfair. SWF is not the issue, it's killer's reliant on bad players to win. I love when killers complain about swf, when they get looped for 2 minutes straight, that's not swf, that's just a good player. Killer's don't hate SWF, they hate versing good players.
You have it completely wrong, man. Even a mediocre survivor can run a killer for minutes if they run from strong loop to strong loop and drop pallets safely. By the time you get your first down, 2-3 gens can easily pop. THAT is what killers have to deal with today at mid to high ranks. It’s a problem when mid tier survivors can waste loads of tile because maps are so poorly designed.
-
So since I’m on console I can’t protect myself at all since I can’t activate a VPN? Good to know.
BHVR is digging their own grave with NFTs, nerfing killers to oblivion, hackers and DDOS attacks. Lovely state we’re in.
Oh, but new content and cosmetics don’t stop coming! That’s all that matters, right?

My favorite part was how 80% of those were immediately swept up by bots and resold. I sat around for a few hours trying to snag one and just gave up.
It was a nice thought, though.
Yeah giveaways where you have to “get in line” are always BS but whatever.

I never said it wasn't a me problem. But I can ask right? Right? I mean it's better to as than just sit there and wonder what would happen if I didn't. It's like a party. It's better to go and not have fun than have this awful feeling just sitting there wondering if you would've had fun if you did go.
Again, it’s LICENSED content. It’s not even up to BHVR so asking is pointless.

“going to windows and leaving a tile”
Leaving a loop is usually a guaranteed free hit because of how fast he moves. That is excluding the wraith bringing speed or uncloaking add-ons.
A decent wraith will block the windows and prevent you from vaulting.
inb4 “you just got outplayed get better”.
The same can be said about you not being able to get a hit post lunge nerf.
If you’re gonna argue about why the nerf should be reverted at least make proper arguments.
This is literally just “do bones”.
Leaving a loop is not a guaranteed free hit since most maps have tons of filler pallets or connecting loops. Also, good Wraiths can’t just “block windows”. For example, if a Wraith is cloaked and I’m at shack or a jungle gym I can just wall hug and vault windows to waste his time until he uncloaks because that window won’t get entity blocked.
Now they made an M1 “surprise attack” killer WORSE at his specialty… surprise attacks. That’s just garbage decision making by the devs.

Agree, but do you think it’ll be a problem if a good spirit utilizes that combo? Barring the add-ons being rare and all. Seeing that it would almost guarantee a steamroll, which the devs so desperately want to attempt to facilitate 50-50 matches.
To be fair, if it was a good spirit they would be performing well regardless of the add-ons being used.
I don’t think it’s unfair because it really only counters Iron Will or survivors standing still/walking.

$10 + $10 + $10 + $10 + $10 + $10 + $10 + $10 + $10 + $10 + $10 + $10 = $120
I do not have the money to spend on that. Same with a lot of people out there. $10 is a lot.
You’re just talking about the cosmetics, not the characters themselves? Lol.
There’s absolutely no reason to get worked up about this.
-
Dude, it’s like $10. If you can’t afford that, it frankly isn’t BHVR’s problem.
Besides, it’s a LICENSED chapter which means they aren’t allowed to give it out for free unless specifically allowed by Netflix per their agreement (spoiler alert, they won’t).

Survivors have plenty of ways to dodge crows.
Tell me how you avoid the crows when they're placed at every choke in a tile other than "hold W to the next loop and hope you don't get M1'd while you run there, just to repeat the process again". If they're placed similar to Trapper traps/Freddy snares there's no avoiding that since they passively damage you when you're swarmed and they're huge.
And you don't need to get to gens that fast if you're downing faster than they can recover after the first down. Maybe on some of the biggest maps she'll suffer but on the average map? Doubt it. Especially if you 3 gen and/or proxy the hook at the right times.
Avoid them the same way you avoid Trapper, only you have to react faster since she can place them faster.
-
Healing in 4 seconds shouldn’t be happening. Completely busted.

I think spirit is completely balanced now apart from MDR and CB combo. Stand still mind game doesn’t work anymore and you can hear her phasing direction.
Survivors that say otherwise probably aren’t accustomed to playing against spirit or should just bring spine chill and IW if they think she’s that OP. works wonders.
Yeah but those are ultra and very rare addons, they SHOULD be powerful since they’re less plentiful. Also, they completely remove scratch marks as soon as you start charging phase, which is a pretty good “negative”.
Trust me, noob Spirits can’t use MDR/CB and do well.

What she lacks in mobility she makes up for in intel. No other killer can find out where the survivors are doing gens (without a perk) as easily as she can. There's no wasting time running to an area just to find out no one is there, you just launch crows at each of the gens and head off to where you hit someone. Then you kinda just down them for free if you play her right.
Intel doesn’t mean jack if you can’t get to gens fast enough. Even Spirit can struggle if she’s not running some kind of speed/duration addon because gens get done too quick.
And Artist’s chase power is far from being considered “downing for free”. Survivors have plenty of ways to dodge crows.
-
BHVR won’t do anything that requires survivors to use more than 2 brain cells. Strategizing whether to cleanse or bless a totem would be “too much” for survivors.
-
@R2k said:
Don't tunnel, slug. Tunneling doesn't stop survivors from gen rush, while slugging distracts very well. Like get down, hook, wait till someone saves him, get down 2nd player and slug 1st in case he has Ds.
Do it in circles and hope for the best. There's no way 2 players can 5 gen u fast enough.
Boon Exponential says hi.
-
I think what they’re getting at is that you’ve been pretty lenient (accepting) about the latest nerfs Spirit got, considering you’re a Spirit player.
But now you’re “waking up” realizing that nerfs are the result of survivors that can’t handle killers that they can’t loop for free.
-
@DemonDaddy said:
Survivors that can't face the results of their mistakes are why we have inflated kill rates and unnecessary nerfs.

My games have gone like this:
As Killer: Same two or three 4-man SWF's. Map offerings, good perks, solid players with over 2500 hours, the works. I sweat my ass off, sometimes I get a 2K, sometimes none, sometimes 4K. Depends on the night. Then immediately following that game, I get a whole bunch of people with under 300 hours. Rinse and repeat.
As Survivor: I have two or three really good games with decent teammates and then five or six horrid games with bots.
My theory is that BHVR takes the whole 50% winrate too seriously and that if you win a game, they try to make it so you can't win your next one by matching you up against people who are really good and by giving you ######### teammates.
All together, vastly inferior to the Ranks system. Two years of work for this.
But 50/50 win rate is bALaNceD.
-
An ideal killer has mobility, map pressure (important for 4v1), chase potential. These aspects can overlap.
Ex: Nurse can end chases with her chase potential, and that same power gives her mobility (it’s a freaking teleport) and map pressure (she can quickly apply pressure to different generators).
Blight’s power makes him move fast - again, which can end chases/loops quickly. He can also pressure generators very well since he gets there so quick. Same can be said for Spirit… although she’s been getting nothing but nerfs lately.
Funny how the top 3 killers (by general consensus) I mentioned have all 3 right? It’s almost like there’s a pattern here.
Regarding Crow Lady (Artist), she has a potentially good chase power, potentially decent map pressure (shooting crows at gens) but NOTHING mobility wise. This automatically disqualifies her from being one of the top killers. She can still be good, but will never be near the top due to her limitations.

@Rokku_Rorru said:
It's likely due to boons, as healing is Wraiths counter, since he can only really m1. I don't think the buff should come back as it just made it too easy to get anyone, cloak then hit cloak then hit, not much counterplay especially with all the laggy hit validation.
The “laggy hit validation” favors survivors, in case you weren’t aware.
And no, it his pre-nerf lunge wasn’t unfair or too easy to get hits… you could easily counter it by going to windows or leaving a tile. Now he is a clunky killer with no redeeming qualities.

So...no pallet map? Hahahaha most or the pallets are god pallets or mostly impossible to mindgame.
They can easily rework where the pallets spawn. They need to get rid of at least one of the god pallets by basement, get rid of one of the pallets in the surveillance room, and remove any pallets where it’s impossible to go around (forced to break).

Yeah, she's like a mix of The Crow (1994) and the artist from EW2. Wonder if that hurts the chances of us ever getting either of those characters in the game.
I see no similarities between Artist and Stefano.
If OP is referring to Anima (the Grudge-looking thing), they behave much differently too.

Well Dead Harding over traps was always a feature because of the stupid i-frames.
Now that Dead Hard is “fixed” it should be adjusted… either remove the i-frames or remove the dash for distance.

They're tweaking things based off of bugs and what not happening it's normal to have a few changes during it to adjust this is nothing new, also I don't think old gen consoles can handle the ptb it's a little more unstable than the normal version and I'm sure anyone who has played on there would agree, but even if they could handle it you should blame your platforms for not allowing them to make tweaks without getting approved which can take a while with Sony usually taking the longest.
If tweaks are needed, they can just do it on the live version.

Well a kill would be god damn lucky on that map without camping, even then its be BT body blocks etc.
Honestly I dont get what we're even balancing around, seems to be people that lack even the most basic of knowledge (new players)
The game is balanced around a 2K at low to mid ranks, basically 0-1K at high rank. 😂

It's because the devs are constantly updating during the ptb and altering things and they have to get approval for everything they change on consoles the ptb would have to last a month for all that to go through in time
The PTB doesn’t need to be constantly updated… if it’s broken to the point where it needs to be taken down, so be it… BHVR should TAKE IT DOWN and then work their butts off to fix it before their live date.

You want to make the map easier for killers, while leaving the unfair advantage of killers intact.
You’re talking about something that affects gameplay in general. This is a map-specific thread.
The Game has way too many god pallets, that’s a fact. The basement alone has 2 god pallets outside of it back to back… how is that ok?
-
I know tier lists are opinion pieces but damn man… there’s way too many killers in A and A+ tier. It should more like Nurse at the top, Blight under her, followed by Spirit and MAYBE Pinhead… then the rest of the cast in C tier or below.

@Mandy said:
The problem with what you are suggesting is that by seeing the Killers profile you can work out a lot about the player in advance. For example from a Steam profile with their achievements you can usually work out which killer they're the most likely to play and change your build accordingly.
It used to be that you can see the Killers profile a long time ago (on Steam), and this led to players being effectively "blacklisted" because they were known for being a fantastic Nurse player for example, so they were dodged. That led to a lot of queue hopping, which affects matchmaking as well as players waiting an extraordinary long time for a match, just because they chose to play a character or that they were good at that character. So it was removed for very good reasons.
That’s a double standard. Killers can equally dodge “good survivors” because they recognize the names.
-
Alchemist ring is the only truly problematic add-on - I don’t think it should give Blight ALL his charges back.
Blighted Crow is incredibly strong for a green and I rarely run into any Blights without it. Maybe if it reduced his turning rate slightly it would be more balanced.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/293784/why-cant-the-ptb-exist-on-consoles
The reason as I understand it is due to how long it takes DBD game file updates (patches/hotfixes) to be approved separately by Microsoft and Sony and Nintendo. And the PTB essentially is an alternate set of game files.
Apparently it's like a 5-7 day turnaround or something, and also the reason why more than one patch even in the same week doesn't happen.
If the game has stayed only on PC they could've pumped three updates through Steam in a single day if necessary.
5-7 day turnaround is hogwash. There is absolutely no good reason why BHVR can’t get the game files approved by the console companies well ahead of time, since the PTB is a PLANNED event.
-
I have a similar accessibility issue with controller on console:
The action and secondary action (I think) commands are initially tied to the same button. This is problematic when I try to heal someone under a pallet because both actions share the same button. Naturally, I changed the repair gen/heal survivor button to something awkward because those actions are stationary and it’s not bothersome.
But for chains (and now crows) I have to share the same button as I do for repairing generators. This is annoying because of the awkward location of the button. An easy fix is to make “removing killer power stuff” like chains have the option of having its own button mapping.
