The old bug benefited the killer tremendously. Survivors were robbed of a successful dodge for years. At least the new bug is fair. As Clevite said, i'm sure they'll remove the scream eventually.

A bug is “fair”? This is why no one takes your biased posts seriously.

  • No, flashlight saves are not toxic. However, it’s way too easy to get ridiculous angles for saves so that needs to get looked at.

Not really a matter of hoping, just throwing ideas out in the wild. It's a fun way to pass the time.

In that case I agree with your idea.

    Asking for a friend.

MMR is broken where it's extremely easy to raise mmr as Killer, and - I guess balanced to raise mmr as Survivor, because in most cases when you die, you still won anyways.

Well survivor MMR is raised by escaping so you don’t “win anyway” by getting sacrificed.

And I’ve never seen a report of someone actually getting a penalty for AFK’ing so your “friend” is probably safe.

Yeah. I think they could at least notify people if a person that they've reported had action taken against them though.

Again, BHVR is a little company who barely have enough resources to look at killers like Trapper after 5 years lol. Don’t get your hopes up, man.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Yeah this is why I like Sony.

Someone sends you particularly aggressive hatemail, you take 2 seconds to report & block them and you get a notification that they've had action taken against them typically within the day, if not within the hour. Usually just means their message was deleted and they've been warned but hey, better than nothing. Maybe those warnings actually add up, maybe the person gets the hint and think twice before doing it again. I know they're two different companies with two different sets of resources but BHVR seems like they need to step up their ingame moderation game.

Would be nice if BHVR did something like this but they’re not a big enough company to handle complaints/reports. Sony has the resources to monitor stuff like this.

I'm probably going to get flames for this one, but in terms of scariness, it was the Trickster's release that was the best in my opinion. I mean think about it:

    • Ji-Woon let a bunch of innocent people burn while they were screaming his name and he enjoyed it, he enjoyed the attention.
    • He would sneak into people's houses and kidnap them, torture them to make them scream and used those screams to make music (and if you listen closely, his chase music sounds like distorted screams).
    • He's one of the most human killers in the game which makes it scarier.
    • He laughs and giggles when chasing and lacerating the survivors, at one point he even hums the ring around the rosey nursey rhyme randomly during the trials.
    • A cool little detail is when someone DC's, he laughs.

While I'm definding 'success' differently compared to the other answers, the detail to Trickster was amazing at making me feel scared while playing Dead by Daylight again.

You’re definitely entitled to your opinion and it’s great you enjoy his lore. He was still an underwhelming killer on release and still is, for the most part. I don’t agree that he was a successful release, and from what I’ve seen that’s the general consensus.

I think Oni has been the most successful killer since he hasn’t really gone through major changes gameplay-wise, aside from some addon balancing. He’s also a solid killer, although his early game can be trash.

This is why. It really isn't hard to edit pictures like this. This was done in paint in 5 minutes.

Someone with even the slightest bit of knowledge can make anyone say horrible things in no matter what kind of picture. You report them cause then they know which person it was and exactly what they said.

Never trust pictures on the internet.

    Very good point.

That's why I said it's just the excuse to hide the problem. If they were taking it seriously and doing something about it - they would care less about protecting them.

I think it’s ridiculous to give protection to people who say stupid things. If you say something, expect it to be read by anyone.

  • Could borrow a note from Resident Evil Resistance’s playbook: survivors can’t escape through the final gate when downed. Also can’t be healed when within the final gate.

I think crawling out to escape is fine, but blocking healing within the exit gate would be nice. That would make the “heal tech” worthless at least.

  • @Kurri said:

Since you didn't hide the names they are going to take down your post under "name shaming" the excuse they give to hide this very big problem.

I screwed up a reply to this and it will pop up later, but if you think that I, saying that you had a garbage take and was being cynical because I posted something happening to me without video proof, then that's on you.

There’s no point continuing this back and forth affair. I’ll just take my leave by reiterating this:

”I haven’t seen this issue on ANY streams or YouTube videos. Maybe it is a thing, but no one has provided proof of it. However, it’s obvious that hit/dead hard validation is coded HORRIBLY by BHVR and needs to be fixed.”

Killer Nerfs are no Survivor Buffs. Otherwise, Killers would have gotten A LOT of Buffs since the game came out.

Hit Validtion is to make the game actually functional. Especially in regards to DH, which was bugged for years.

And SWF... Come on, it was planned from the beginning.

If someone honestly thinks BHVR has made this game killer-sided they are very delusional.

I didn't say it hurt my feelings. If it was silly for you, then why be a dick about it? It's like a non-apology. It's just you being smug.

Yeah, there’s nothing to apologize for. I admittedly used the word “silly” (in reference to the claims, not you) which caused you to resort to name-calling.

Yes, you were responding to them, thus the quote, but then you cast doubt because of the lack of evidence. Not everyone is going to post evidence and I don't expect people to always have the ability to. Yeah, it's a logical thought process that because there isn't visible evidence, it probably doesn't happen. Just because someone hasn't captured it doesn't mean it doesn't happen or exist. This is why I responded in kind. No matter what you think, your "funny thing is + emoji" is cynical and casts doubt on someone's anecdotal experience. Anecdotals, yes, doesn't mean much, but I know what I seen.

You’re right, I shouldn’t have used the word “silly”… I didn’t think it would hurt your feelings and elicit the response it did.

If what you’re saying is true then it obviously would need to be fixed. But since there’s been no video evidence to show that this is actually a thing I don’t think it’ll be addressed/acknowledged. That’s all I have to say really.

Watched the whole video, there were zero blade wipe animations from the validations.

Some of the recovery times are longer because he did a lunge, which is longer recovery than a non-lunge M1.

There is incorrect visual feedback with the blood on those validations, though.

My original comment in this thread wasn’t even directed to you yet here you are calling me “cynical” and “pretentious”. Instead of getting defensive, I’d be happy to be proven wrong if you post evidence of what you’re saying. The issue everyone has been posting is audio of a hit triggering when they get dead hard validated. NOTHING has been posted (to my knowledge from the countless threads I’ve read) that the blade wipe animation occurs in this instance.

This is exactly what I mentioned earlier but your lack of reading comprehension or ignoring the post is showing. I honestly don't give a damn about your argument or your cynicism to someone else's experience. Screw a "claim". What you ignored is that I don't have a reason to make it up. As stereotypes go in this forsaken forum, I'm a survivor main that isn't supposed to care about what killers go through and I should be enjoying this fix for dead hard, or for some instances, Server Side Confirmations. Server Side Confirmations are more likely than not, working as intended and that's great. I also personally have had false confirmations + cleans happen, regardless what your attitude and uppity BS says. Yes, I acknowledged I didn't capture it, nor do I have a way. No, I don't need your demands for evidence to be met because I am not trying to prove a hypothesis / a theory / etc. nor am I hear to prove it to you or anyone else. I can say and express what happened to the best of my knowledge, your bias be damned.

TruEternity did it right. I understand that I need to get it captured but I've already explained this. If this is a bug, then it's a sufficient guess at what may be going on and he didn't go out of his way to be pretentious about someone else's experience. Thank you for being cool about someone else's experience.

    Rey, get bent.

If you are incapable of providing your own evidence, perhaps find a YouTube video that is showing the same thing you’re seeing.

Your little tirade won’t accomplish anything.

  • Nemesis is a good killer that could become oppressive if you buff one too many variables.

I think at the most, infection speed boost should be slightly decreased (make Licker Tongue basekit). However completely removing the boost would be a bit much since survivors have limited vaccines. If the boost were to be removed then there should be 1-2 extra vaccines on the map but take a little longer to open + apply.

Zombies are tricky to change… maybe just improve their pathing so they don’t get stuck. Or perhaps make them always spawn near gens (or exit gates once all gens are completed).

  • Then forgive me for not believing your silly claims that you can’t back up with ANY evidence.

    🙂

  • Give killers the ability to see all totem auras and I’m fine with Boons staying the same. 😉

I understand that this is anecdotal evidence, but I swear that it has happened for me. Just because I don't have a capture system doesn't mean that it didn't happen -for me-. What reason do I have to lie about it, especially if I'm a survivor main. I shouldn't care about this nor should I show any pity for a killer having these issues. Correct for whom? Your cynicism is garbage.

I’m saying Shroompy, the user I quoted, is correct.

And next time it happens, take a video with your phone or something - capture it and post it. Because NONE of the videos of Dead Hard validation I’ve seen personally have had a blade wipe.

  • @Dustin said:

I don't really see these arguments and I personally have nothing against console players but going to admit the most toxic and unfun people I've played with are all crossplay players on console. The only reason I don't turn off crossplay is because matchmaking times but I genuinely have not encountered such toxicity before crossplay and I genuinely never thought I'd say that considering how bad PC was with chat and such. Killers going out of their way to target and kill specific players for no reason and survivors squading up and purposely trying to extend the game to bully the killer instead of doing anything else.

Never experienced such boring or unfun games before crossplay.

Unrelated but didn't BHVR disable the option to opt out of crossplay?

Correct. I don’t know why people are saying it’s doing the blade wipe despite the hit “not registering”. The funny thing is they never seem to post evidence of this. 🙄

Well of course, I play killer I understand why people are upset but some people are acting like it needs a nerf and I'm more along the lines of they just need to fix the visual bug and see how it plays out.

Well by making hit/dead hard validation, now the Sound FX are “not working as intended” so it needs to be fixed.

I still think Dead Hard needs a change, but I’ll settle for correct audio feedback first.

If you actually read my post I mentioned that at the end and said it should be fixed

I’m just upset about the incorrect audio feedback I get. I’m kind of past the hit validation aspect, but THINKING I got a down because of the audio is what makes me upset.

Imagine if in football the ref blew the whistle by accident, indicating a dead play, but the play wasn’t actually dead… oh, but the offense has knowledge that the play is still on, but not the defense. That would be pretty annoying right?

  • @Pulsar said:

I think they should be weighted in the MMR scoring as well.

If a 4-man stomps on Haddonfield, they should get less then if they played on Shelter Woods.

I know this isn't exactly what you were talking about, but it's kinda related

I don’t agree with maps affecting player MMR, as you would have to account for the killer that was faced on that map. A nurse on Haddonfield is god like with range addons, so a survivor team shouldn’t get penalized for JUST playing on Haddonfield.

I prefer something along the OP’s idea: calculate recently played maps by each player in the lobby and eliminate the common denominators. If 4/5 have played on Coldwind last game, the map can’t be Coldwind.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2599332#Comment_2599332

I thought my idea was good too :(

In all seriousness, I don't really care when it gets changed. I was on the side of "just do bones" for a long long time. It just isn't feasible for Survivors to do all 5 totems in a close game on a chance that the Killer has NOED. And now that I'm able to play Survivor again, I can experience that joyous fun first-hand lmao

Yeah it’s very difficult for a solo Q team to cleanse all 5 totems if it’s a map with that ONE finnicky spot no one checks.

I usually duo, rarely do I always have a 4-man team so I bring Detectives here and there to not depend on my randoms cleansing totems.

  • @WesCravenFan said:

The third most run perk in the game doesn't need a buff.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2599313#Comment_2599313

I don't disagree, but I think it does need to happen.

I would be interested in seeing the stats for the number of dull totems cleansed on average per trial depending on the groups of Survivors. For example, how many got cleansed with 4 Solo's vs 2 Solo's and a Duo ect ect

Yup, I agree NOED needs a change. But like I said, other changes in the killer’s favor need to happen first in my opinion. NOED is a band aid solution for gens going way too quick, either due to gen speeds themselves or lack of killer viability (see Deathslinger, Legion, Clown, etc.).

I would love for NOED to be reworked into a speed buff at endgame, maybe like 10%-15%. Remove the hex aspect as well (give it a 2-3 minute max duration if it seems too strong).

  • Don’t play to get 12 hooks if you’re looking to “win” (for me, winning as killer is at least a 3K).

If you just care about fun or bloodpoints, then try to get as many hooks as possible and run BBQ.

  • I really don’t think NOED should be looked at BEFORE gen speeds, killer viability, etc. are addressed. They just go way too quick if you don’t run slowdown perks, and in that case a NOED surprise is well-deserved and the survivors earn zero sympathy from me.

I do think it’s bull crap for a killer to get free kills at endgame due to NOED, but there are more pressing issues that would need to be looked at first.

How? I think original pain is not very good cause it’s very situational. How do you use it

If a survivor gets unhooked with BT, chain them and they will lose their Endurance effect after they break one chain. Original Pain applies deep wound to injured survivors (which also happens to counter BT).

  • @The_Krapper said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2597362#Comment_2597362

Because that's what dead hard is supposed to do but some of these people freaking out cant read the perk description, dead hard was used for distance alot because it was a smarter play and the actual use of dead hard is supposed to be to tank a hit with the I frame , that's why the perk description says "you can take a beating" and thats why there was an i frame in the first place but when you used dead hard the way it was intended by the devs you ended up exhausted on the ground and it used to not have the dash animation like it does now so the distance wasn't as much back then, literally it works as intended and how it's always been described, now the truth is these people are landing hits mid dead hard and the game notices the survivor was exhausted first and cancels it but they're stuck in the wiping animation and seeing them pop up after a down , that part should change but dead hard itself is fine

your reasoning is completely off… dead hard working as intended is a completely separate issue from the killer client triggering SFX of a successful hit when it actually wasn’t a successful hit.

  • @Anniehere said:

The grind for Shards is no less ridiculous.

I can understand the idea behind blood points, we need to work hard to get them to have some kind of goal in the game.

But Shards are needed to buy more characters or to have a variety of free cosmetics.

Players who can not play all day may be able to get 9,000 Shards after a few months.

Blood points should be easier to get than shards. Shards circumvent the need to pay for non-licensed DLC, which is actually one of the few good things BHVR has done.

I know I buy them. I can still say they are overpriced when they are.

I can GUARANTEE that complaining about cosmetic prices will not accomplish anything.

People buy them at market price, therefore they will continue to be sold at market price.

I still see and hear a bit about Pinhead. Mostly complaints. He's gonna be on the nerf-happy players' monitors until Engineer's Fang gets nerfed, despite that being the sole add-on that makes him viable. After that, then he'll really fall into obscurity.

Original Pain is a great counter to Borrowed Time, makes survivors hella salty.

  • If they click or t-bag they get a guaranteed smack/nod.

  • I like to smack the hooked survivor and nod.

  • BHVR probably thinks making a huge grind is a way to keep players coming back for more in order to unlock everything on everyone (kind of like someone who keeps watching a bad TV show because they’ve already invested so much time in it).

I have very little hope that they actually care about the grind frustrations.

When your fun is intentionally coming at the cost of others, yes

Also please tell me the appeal of standing still for 2 minutes, at that point Id rather just play survivor and sit on gens

It’s pretty fun to have a cocky survivor on hook as Bubba. The delicious salt you get for camping him postgame is worth every second spent.

And NO, there is no problem costing another player their “fun”. This game is in such a bad state for killers that a stress-free Bubba Camp game is needed here and there to relieve some stress.

  • @Mandy said:

Dead Hard is not buffed first of all, it's now working as intended - it hasn't worked under dedicated servers as it was still reliant on the killers connection, whereas now it's reliant on the players connection to the server, so again whoever did the action first.

Also the blade wipe animations are not present etc so no time is lost. The only thing that I can see as a possible issue is that teh player screams as if hit, whereby they are not actually hit, and that's feedback that's already been sent back to the team (it's similar to the pallet validation feedback in that instance).

The screaming bit is probably what pisses of killers more than the validation itself. For pallets and now Dead Hard, THINKING you got a down changes your mindset as killer. Now the killer has to account for the developer’s oversight on the Sound FX triggers to determine if they actually got a hit or not. These few seconds can be the difference in a survivor getting back to a safe position.

It’s incredibly frustrating to deal with a strong perk and now have to deal with incorrect audio feedback.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2595867#Comment_2595867

Oh, tell me oh wise person, how can you predict when a Slinger is gonna shoot when he can aim at you 3 times per second without losing distance?

That was the issue with Deathslinger, if he does that ######### now, he loses massive distance.

"They also made it so that the 50/50 is now on you. Now it's your responsibility to not only aim, but to also predict if the survivor is gonna twitch to the left or right, if the survivor is gonna run in a straight line, if the survivor is gonna move a little to the left and then stop, etc. Your weapon isn't hitscan. It's not just your aim that counts, but also your ability to predict survivor movement."

Except, it's not a 50/50, the projectile is still very fast to the point that if you aim to the center of the survivor, they would need to use an exhaustion perk or at least need a haste effect to dodge it. Survivors would need to move before you decide to shoot. But predicting the opponents movement to deal a hit must always lie at the person being able to deal damage. Not having that responsibility gives you essentially free hits. Free hits are always a problem, because the opponent's input doesnt matter. When the opponent chooses to put themselves in such a scenario, that's fine, they knew they were gonna give a free hit, but if that choice was forced upon them? That's an issue. Not a single other killer has the 50/50 on the survivor side. Every single ability from the birth of this game has given survivors room to respond. Deathslinger and Spirit were the odd ones out.

So yes, the nerf was needed. It's not done properly(yet), but it was absolutely essential. Killers need to be enjoyable to face, Deathslinger wasnt fun to face unless you were a premade 4. Desicive Strike literally recieved a nerf that was, in terms of in-game effect, unimpactful on escape results(I think it even increased). The biggest impact the nerf had, was removing the annoyance of having to deal with DS early game, but in return, DS survives untill late game a lot more often. Yeah, you read that correctly, the DS nerf didnt change the outcome of the match, 99% of it was changing the experience for the killer.

Deathslingers numbers, well, we'll see that in 6-8 weeks from now. If they dropped or stayed the same, he's gonna recieve adjustments in other portions of his kit. If it increased, well, nothing is gonna change since he would be an objectively better killer that now plays differently.

Personally, I do agree with his TR being 32 meters while he is 110% is a bit of an odd decision, and I dont understand why his ADS movementspeed addons were altered that much from the PTB, but I do know why they were changed(the 10% wasnt really 10% increase of his movementspeed, but 10% of the movementspeed multiplier, meaning he went from 0.85x to 0.95x, while in % thats going from 93.5% to 104.5% and when combined with the other addon it would be 110%, also, its the 10% addon+cold creek whiskey+monitor and abuse that made them change it the ADS speed addon, which is still weird, but whatever)

Survivors: “Killers need to be enjoyable to face”

Also Survivors: Run Dead Hard, Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, Iron Will, have access to completely safe pallets, pump out gens in 4 minutes unless the killer runs some kind of slowdown build and pressures gens.

  • That’s why mods love to move stuff there for even the slightest hint of criticism that involves a suggestion on how to fix something.

1 2 3 4 5 … 30
