It is day 1... On the PTB, ain't nobody know what the hell they are talking about, homie.
This. Why are we asking if a killer is overpowered if no one has had time to learn counters?

So this is just an opinion but this perk is going to make being a survivor very boring and also make already strong killers even stronger.
Sure you don't start with the perk active but all it takes is one totem cleansed and you have it to be used all match which makes it better than Ruin.
It only takes the killer 2 seconds to use it and then you have -30% gen speed. Which means it would take about 104 seconds to do a gen solo now. So this perk is already doing more than thanatophobia even with all survivors injured. And yes you can cleanse the totem but that takes 12 seconds. And after you cleanse it the killer can see it's aura again and just go back and take 2 seconds to start it again. So pretty much survivors will be spending a whole match with -30% gen speed minimum, and can be even worse if they start performing rituals on more totems.
Honestly this perk is a great idea overall but it seems that it will make playing survivor insufferable as no one wants to hold m1 for 104 seconds x5.
“It won’t be meta”
“Let’s wait and see how it performs”
”BHVR will change it before it goes live”

Nea is a thing that already existed, not sure why but she's been there long enough people should know the devs have always been pro LGBT.
There is no proper way of doing anything related to anyone for any reason. We're human and any level of controversy is always going to be controversial. The issue is when people start reasoning as to why anything happens that a problem actually exists.
If the characters are going to have their orientations as a focal point, then Freddy ought to be addressed as well, shouldn't he?
Well Freddy is a kiddy diddler so it probably wouldn’t be kosher to talk about his “orientation”. It’s unnecessary.
-
No one is complaining, at least not a large scale. I don’t see any anti-gay threads in the main forum.
I personally don’t care about the lore, so even more reason for me not to care if some text lines say “oh by the way, (Killer/Survivor) is gay”. Tbh, sexual orientation shouldn’t even be a focal point in this game, but that’s just my opinion.

I still consider it meme add on since the recovery is 13seconds. No good nurse would use that other than meme or 3 blink trophy purposes
The recovery time is punishing on bad Nurses. I know you’ll say “good Nurse players don’t need 3 blinks”… well listen, good Nurse players can still make mistakes so the third blink helps make up for those instances. Also, a 3rd blink can be used after baiting out Dead Hard with the first 2 blinks.
-
Big respect for the streak.
Were you trying to prove a point by slugging until everyone was downed? It’s an interesting playstyle for sure, but I only have tried it with Plague.

no, it still injures survivors, but now when you hit the injured survivor with a follow up possessed chain to slow them down so you can catch up to them, it only spawns 1 slowing chain instead of the normal 3. in other words, they traded his ability to slowdown injured survivors for his ability to injure them, making his chase and downing potential after using the engineers fang to injure them... completely useless.
Wow, seems like an awesome change!!

Liquified gore, sure seems like its saying it's now 1 second instead of 2? So it got nerfed?
Yeah it got nerfed. So instead of 6 extra seconds to solve, you can only get a max of 3 extra seconds. For a green add-on, Larry’s Remains is now trash.
Good job BHVR.

Idk why the other comment I posed didn't go trough, but I'll just say it again. What they mean by "increased by 2 seconds" is that now it will be 2 seconds instead of 4. They always word things so weirdly, but beside the chatter's tooth add on, they were all nerfs, and even the buffed one isn't good enough to warrant being used because you want people to be in chain hunts more often than not
Ah, my bad then. That is such a confusing way to word your patch notes.
@Laluzi Apologies, see Hunter’s post.

I'm confused - I thought decreasing the solving time was a nerf, not a buff. Also the torture pillar.
And yeah, I really didn't like that they increased the vision on the iri box, because that was the only remotely reliable way to get a chain hunt rolling.
It doesn’t say decreased, it says INCREASED. That makes it a buff because increased time means longer solving time.

Whether it’s OP or not is irrelevant. The notes don’t say that EF add-on will lose its ability to injure healthy survivors.

They increased the iri box range by 8 meters which is a big difference
That’s just one nerf. The rest are really good changes.
-
Basically everyone not named Nurse, Blight or Spirit.
It’s crazy that only 3 out of like 25 killers are actually viable. If you use anyone else versus a top tier team, you will get wrecked.
-
@Laluzi said:
New map sounds good, but really? They're nerfing the only decent things about the Cenobite? Ouch.
What nerf? His addon changes were mostly good.
- BUFF: Larry's Remains: Solving time increased by 2 seconds (was 4 seconds)
- BUFF: Liquified Gore: Solving time increased by 1 second (was 2 seconds)
- BUFF: Chatterer's Tooth: Undetectable status now lasts 25 seconds (was 12 seconds)
If you’re talking about Engineer’s Fang, they didn’t say they were nerfing the aspect that injures healthy survivors:
- Engineer's Fang: When hitting an injured Survivor with a possessed chain, only 1 additional chain will spawn
-
“Optimized The Spirit's performance.
Dev Note: The Spirit has the largest impact on performance of any Killer, technically speaking. These performance optimizations should help alleviate that on all platforms.”
What the heck does this mean? Hopefully this translates to fixing the bug with survivors teleporting when Spirit comes out of phase.
-
It happens, but not often.

They were changed before going live.
Though Circle of Healing definitely needs to be toned down further. Shadow Step is incredibly underrated when a survivor is healthy but at least you still can track injured people, so I think that'd be a lower priority.
If we're going with usual patterns, a chapter usually gets looked at 3 months after release.
Shadow Step is incredibly annoying, but another problem is that boons cover multi-level maps. Even if you want to snuff the boon as killer, you can waste an ungodly amount of time walking to it which means survivors have basically 2 safe havens at all times.

I'd kind of like it if crouching wasn't an autowin against her traps. Maybe make it like crouch walking over them gives only a 33% chance of setting it off. Adds in a bit of danger as to whether or not to risk approaching a trapped gen or whatever.
An iri addon that makes it so crouching still sets off traps would be fun. 😂 She needs a second iri anyway.
-
I just hope the killer is on Blight/Nurse level and the perks are fun.
Otherwise I’ll simply not play the killer after unlocking their teachables just like I did with the garbage pile that is known as Trickster.

One buff I’d like to see with Hag is to remove survivors ability to disarm her traps while she’s carrying someone or breaking a pallet. That can be annoying as Hag.
Nah - that should be an add-on at the most, not basekit. I play Hag and that would make her much better. Maybe just make flashlights not destroy her traps anymore, like how toolboxes don’t gut Trapper anymore.

It shouldn't be that hard.
How to Play Survivor;
- Hold m1 on gens.
- Watch a 5 minute video on looping
- Win 60%+ of your games
How to Play Killer;
- Learn each map layout, tile spawns, totem spawns, gen spawns, where survivors are most likely going to spawn compared to where the killer spawns.
- Learn your character, how their power works, are they a different speed, how big is their terror radius
- track your red stain, know how to hide it
- learn how to back track
- learn every tile, learn what is a strong loop and weak loop, learn how to push survivors to the short end of a loop. Learn unique tiles and buildings on specific maps
- know when to change targets, know when to stay on the current target
- learn how to play around body blocking, flashlight saves, and pallet saves
- learn how long it takes for a survivor to finish a gen
- learn how to gauge the time of the game
- learn how to time each of your perks
- learn how to calculate and track healing times, gen times, bt, ds, exhaustion, head on
- learn how to calculate and track which survivor was on which hook
- DON'T FORGET TO WATCH FOR IMMERSIVE SURVIVORS
- Are you still with me?
- Learn how to patrol, including your totems - so many killers don't know how to patrol their totems
- How to patrol doors
- know when to slug, when to pick up a slugged survivor
- know when to tunnel
- know when to camp
- know when to proxy camp
- know when go to the other side of the map to chase a certain survivor
- After all this Winning is still just a chance based on the skill of the Survivors.
No biggie, just master these “few killer tricks”. 😂
-
I think a better idea would be for the killer to be able to see which exhaustion perks the survivors are using (if any) from the pre-game lobby.
It won’t be a big secret once you’re in the game so may as well let the killer prepare for those.

The issue with facecamping is that, yeah, we'd all love to get rid of it. It sucks.
However, there isn't really a way to punish facecampers without punishing honest players.
Exactly. A “fix” to facecamping will still screw over camping in valid situations such as when you HAVE to camp during endgame, or if people are simply hovering around the hook.
I think (face)camping should be one of the last major issues that BHVR addresses, if ever. Besides, only Bubba can truly prevent an unhook. Others like Billy and Myers have to commit to downing one person so that leaves the opportunity for a second person to come in. And facecamping doesn’t even guarantee a kill anyway for most of the killer roster.
-
Not entirely, you’re still on the DBD forums. 🤷🏻♂️ (Not a criticism, btw)
Regarding Pinhead… you could say the same about other killers like Twins or Trapper. It doesn’t really matter if it’s related to NFTs or not, some killers will just not be played for a plethora of reasons. Pinhead can actually be an annoyingly strong killer if they pressure the box holder. He does require a bit of tactical thinking (box spawn knowledge) and his chase power is pretty boring and underwhelming, so that can turn a lot of people off.

It only really makes the game worse if you are a killer that tunnels. I never tunnel personally, I always go after the survivor that freed from the hook, rather than the one that was just on the hook. If the just freed survivor runs from the hook right at me I will just slug them, gives the match some slowdown as other survivors run to heal them.
Tunneling is NOT a tactic that should be shunned and punished. If a killer wants to tunnel off hook that’s their decision - just like survivors have the right to complete gens as fast as possible. You can prevent the tunnel by having someone with BT go for the save, or running DS of course.
That being said, DS should NOT have a skill check. It’s a pretty generous skill check size already for a strong perk. New players should learn to hit the skill check - coddling them won’t make them better. And if the issue is because of last gen causing delays then that’s a problem BHVR needs to fix with the GAME, not the perk.

HEX: UNDYING
We’ve been watching this one closely, and there’s a few things we’d like to address:
-Transferring the same Hex multiple times can get out of hand: Hexes are meant to be strong perks that can be destroyed, and having to destroy the same Hex four times can be a bit much.
-Since tokens aren’t transferred when a Hex changes totems, Undying was unpopular with perks other than Ruin (which does not have any tokens and is immediately at full power).
-Having aura reading on all totems also made it a very powerful tracking perk on top of its other effects, and is a little redundant with Hex: Thrill of the Hunt.

It's an audio bug not a gameplay one.
It’s still a bug that makes you think you got a hit and splatters your screen with blood. Nothing fair about that.
-
Run Forced Penance on Hag (and maybe some other killers), it’s actually pretty useful for the healing meta.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2604620#Comment_2604620
It is at least more fair, since the new Bug does not have any gameplay-consequences. You see the Blood and the Scream, but the actual game is not impacted. This was different with "exhausted on the ground".
The Devs have said multiple times that this is their way how feedback is handled. The Killer gets it immediatly, otherwise they would need to add a delay into any Killer/Survivor-Interaction. Even if this will only take the fraction of a second, it might result in a really clunky experience.
Obviously they should fix it, if it is technically possible. But if not, I would prefer some Screams and Blood over an overall clunky experience.
Like I said, I’m fine with validation but not incorrect feedback. This is the only PvP game I’ve played where something stupid like this happens.
And while you’re technically correct that it doesn’t impact the game (in terms of the blade wipe), it’s now something every killer will have to process separately: did I actually get the hit or not? This split second thinking has cost me at least one or two downs because I looked away after I thought I got a down only to realize I got validated.

You are not getting robbed of anything. So it is fair. The feedback should be reworked, IF they can do it (I doubt that it is technically possible for DBD).
Before, the Survivor got robbed, they pressed E in time, but ended up exhausted on the ground. This was them actually being robbed.
(Which just shows the double-standards of Killers... One side has a visual feedback-bug, but is not robbed actually (Killer), the other side got robbed (Survivor), but the later one is ok, the first one not)
I’m not saying I got robbed, am I? And no, it isn’t fair to replace one bug with another.
And to say something broken can’t be fixed is speculation. They SHOULD fix it. Validation is fine if it works as intended, but right now it doesn’t.
-

Nope, you did NOT hit them, they used DH. You just get the feedback that you hit them, but they actually reacted on time with DH.
But I know that some Killer Mains seem to be unable to accept that. But it is easy to get the mindset that it was not meant to hit and just move on. If I can do that, everyone can do that.
Not getting the hit is one thing, but the annoying sound of a hit and blood splatter on your screen is ridiculously distracting and needs to be fixed.
