  • Only if you set about telling the killer where people are, I guess.

Other than that, giving the killer a hook is not wrong.  I've done it from time to time, too.
  • Hey!... yeah, basically.

Doesn't help that Huntress is kinda slow, so her map pressure isn't great. If someone has Intel on where she is, she's pretty screwed, imo.

I main huntress and basically just run 3 grind perks and whispers.
Then again, I don't even feel like being killer is worth it outside of rituals.
  • Nope. No moris to use. Not many addons to use to help either.
    No point in much else.

Not nervous they will go to waste, just fairly certain.

Well, I will take a BP offering if I can. May as well salvage the low BP game.
  • Just pray your friend gets Neas booty shorts?
And maybe pixie cut, or the green hair?
  • Sunova... I thought the shrine updated Wednesday? Not Tuesday? I just barely get the points, and it updates so can't get open handed? Fack.

    Shrine perks are, spoilers,

    Alert, Wake up
    And
    Monitor and abuse, Remember me
Seeing as I have alert (min main :3)and remember me, monitor and abuse seems like a no brainer.

Also, tlrunning kindred 3. Not much change.
Saw the game basically end in 2 minutes with a basement hook snowball. 5 gens left.
  • It's dumb, and probably mean, too,  but on my spirit I usually run Montos Russian roulette perks. Not necessarily the addons, or offerings though.

Haunted grounds, and 3 other hex totems of your choice.
  • He can trap gens, and chests with pies on springs!

    *ratchet ratchet ratchet-splat!*
  • You know, I use some cheap headphones plugged into my controller, and I can't complain.

Maybe it's just me, but cheap 3.5 mm ones will do.
  • TAG said:
There already is.  I've done it by accident numerous times and thought for the longest time it was a bug.  As said above, it's set to the touchpad by default.
    Yeah, I hate doing that.
I needs my airplane controls, damnit!
  • I think if you push the touch pad, it will invert controls.
  • That is weird. How do I escape this conversation! xD

    Death is not an escape!
  • If you have a killer ritual, dedicate the entire trial to it.

Shock as doc? Never leave treatment mode, and just shock people, for instance.

Dodge sacrifice, and mori ones tho.

Being a killer is rough, and it feels like the devs are going to leave us hanging. I'm trying to switch things up a little.
  • They camp because 9 times out of 10, it works.

Most of my fellow survivors are absolutely suicidal. They might get a good unhook here, and there.
I'd say they were farming, but they get downed eventually.

And I'm there, on a gen, trying desperately to power the hatch. The only one on a gen.

I like the chase, and hunt so I don't usually camp either. I do it for me since survivors don't know you're the killer until post game. Maybe if you have certain cosmetics often enough, they might guess, but they won't load in, and say "wow, this player! Yo, chill with the toxic stuff. This killer isn't 4k crazy, and we can get a lot of points playing normally! This huntress even let me go during the blight event!"
That said, you play how you want to.
  • Will have to wait, and see.

Hopefully the devs will have the nerve, and/or competence to balance killers to SWFs with comms, solos balanced or not, before throwing killers to the wolves.
    Waiting with low expectations.

I don't look forward to gambling if the group is an SWF and/or if the group are #########, either wanting to break the game to beat me.
They're common enough as it is, and it's put me off playing killer something fierce.
  • Summer fun! It doesn't have to be in the summer.

New skins for everyone! Killers, and survivors alike!

Clown gets a purple sunhat, purple thong, purple flip flops and round sunglasses.
His bottles become champagne glasses, and he swishes it elegantly when he reloads.

Huntress gets a 1 piece that has an exposed midsection, and a flowing sarong.

    David gets a gold thong.

    Just for instance.

New game mode! Marco Polo! Killers are basically blind, and get a "marco" button. They push it, and they see the auras of all survivors (the polo) for 5 seconds, and some idea of the surroundings. Noises are louder, and maybe within 5 meters or so the killer can see the aura permanently in the range for chasing purposes.
    Maybe outlines of obstacles.
Maybe ultra dim lighting except around the killer for a radius.

Killers get pool noodle weapons, and rack up tokens for every hit to add maybe 10 percent BP for every hit.
They get improved BP for chases.
Hooks take a back seat. It's about following, and clobbering. The hunt. The chase.

Survivors get to do gens, and have a secondary of being chased, and hit, and gathering rings, or something. They get bonus BP for partaking.
They eventually escape, but there's enough opportunity for massive amounts of blood points people might not care.

New map could be an obstacle course with pools of water that slow movement for everyone.
And a Marco polo overhaul of all maps.

It's not supposed to be a stressful experience.
  • Agreed. Keepsakes are awesome!
    Looking back at old events.

I know most don't give a damn, but keep the mementos in the back of the list. That way they don't want to mori someone.
  • Ach?
    Ach... ach agak!

New killer is a Martian from Mars attacks! Confirmed!
    Jk
  • They'd likely start lobby dodging until they were in the same lobby like they did before SWF was added to main gameplay, or leave.
We might have some dedicated solos like myself running around.

I don't believe anyone wants SWF gone, though. I think anyone thinking about it a second would get why it's here, unintentional consequences be damned.

We just want it balanced so them using voice doesn't give them such a huge advantage, and solos able to share in the information, and share it so they don't get overwhelmed.
  • Well, like fire, there is the usual triangle. Mood, time, energy. Take one away, and it's hard to fuel the fire.

Outside of that, I want games to feel balanced. They should be balanced around SWF with voice, around how big/numerous the SWF is, etc.
Or at the least a big fat blood point bonus so I can get an SWF killer build going.

Ya'll say it's so easy to kill SWFs, but ya'll have moris stockpiled, and the best addons stockpiled, and a page or two of rank 3 perks.
I don't have all that. Game gives me trials to kill by my own hand with cypress moris. ######### a.
  • Thongs for everyone! Guy, gals!

And the party boy dance emote! And music if possible!

    Huntress in a bikini!

Pig in a scuba suit! I know she's licensed, damnit! :p

    Pool noodle weapons!

To the players that think dodging is fair game when it looks to be an unfun match, do you think they should allow survivors to see the killer profile in the lobby again so they can do the same?

The problem with this analogy is that a lot of SWFs often use third party programs (voice chat/text) to ruin the experience for the killer.
Voice chat isn't in the game. Or any chat really during a trial.
If SWF were strictly only using what is in the game, killers might not have issue with SWF to begin with.

If the killer were to use third party programs to get an edge, it's basically a bannable offense.
The killer, as much unfun as it might be, is basically only using what's in the game.

Come to Xbox. Party system is part of the platform, I can invite all the rando's in the lobby to a party if I want. Maybe just man up and deal with it instead of complaining. Most SWF groups are really not as pro as people make them out to be. Also miscommunication is a thing, so...

I'm on ps4, and do have xbox. I'm well aware of how easy it is to use the console's chat systems.
It's still not part of the game. You have to use outside chat sources from the game itself.
  • Voice chat, or any chat during trials is not part of the game, though.
The game is not balanced around it.
Why do you think there are so many aura reading perks so survivors can see eachother?
It's an antisocial game. Cote said so himself.

They can't punish people that use voice chat because there's no way to detect it if people really want to use it.

It is apples and oranges because it's not the same thing to compare using outside programs to get an edge vs not using outside programs to only play with what's actually in the game.
So you are ok punishing players for the mistakes the devs made?

It doesn't matter if something unbalances a game what matters is the act of dodging for something which is accepted by the people who make the game.

Of course they cant detect it but that doesn't remove the fact they knew it would be used, I also highly doubt anyone with a multiplayer game would ban for using voice chat and to think so I believe is clutching at straws.

Multiplayer games where friends play together have always had comms, it still comes down to cherry picking games for a reason you deem unfair nothing else and are simply trying to justify it.

Many things are deemed unfair in this game, a lot of things have been overlooked just like the impact of looping, just because comms isn't built into the game does not mean it wasn't thought of being used by the players, that is again clutching at straws.
Weird, aren't you ok with doing just that, making killers play against people using things this game isn't balnced for? I mean not balancing the game for voice chat is arguably a huge mistake.

I'm not really ok with it. But my answer is to have the game balnced around voice chat in trials.
    How is the hard part.
Pretty sure no one would ever game again if survivors could pick who they play against unless it's some rank 15 or less that they can bully and doesn't know about SWF.

It entirely matter is if unbalanced. It thoroughly does. It's the main reason dodging happens.
If SWF didn't use chat, or the game was balanced around chat, odds are dodging would be largely over with.
Why the hell would/should killers humor unbalanced mechanics?
Dodging is accepted probably because they can't restore balance yet.

I'm not suggesting people get banned for voice chat. I am suggesting that maybe the artistic part of the game, 4 solo survivors vs a killer, is basically dead, sadly. The antisocial aspect is what charmed me into this game.
The game needs to be balanced around people using voice chat on both survivor and killer ends.

SWF abuses match making to get easier games. There's no end to the greens, purples, or even reds facing killers in their teens.
Let's not pretend that survivors are innocent in all of this.
Killers aren't angels either but they generally have to work inside the game, and it's limits.

It's a clear line between what's unfair that survivors do, and what's unfair that killers do.
    Survivors use steroids.
Killers use what's given to them, and have to play better to compensate for the survivors steroid abuse.

Voice chat is not part of the game. You cannot convince me it basically is, and/or that this game is remotely balanced for it.
  • To the players that think dodging is fair game when it looks to be an unfun match, do you think they should allow survivors to see the killer profile in the lobby again so they can do the same?

The killer, as much unfun as it might be, is basically only using what's in the game.
While swf and voice chat so give a stupid advantage the devs accept it as part of the game hence it is not bannable so must be accepted.

This ssays you think it's ok for one side to dodge as they think it's unfun but not the other, why should only one side have that option?
3rd party voice chat isn't bannable because there's nothing they can do to stop it. Considered that?
It gives an immense edge to survivors, and it's not in the game.

Because one side is dodging to avoid the other side having a massive advantage that they shouldn't have.
The other is dodging because of purely ingame stuff basically.

    Apples and oranges.
If it's part of the game and accepted then you have to deal with it, it is not apples and oranges, it comes down to you simply not agreeing with something because you think it's unfair.

No dev will think a multiplayer game where friends play together will not use comms, to think otherwise is being in denial, if they underestimated it's impact then that's on the devs so why punish the players using it?

If one side can cherry pick the other side should be able too as well plain and simple.

The more threads there are the more the devs will listen. Persistence is key.

Sometimes, one good thread is all it takes; with a good discussion, the pros and cons, the change itself, pros and cons of the change, and a summary of why it would improve the game. Aim for quality over quantity.

And yes, we are always happy to listen to your feedback <3

The problem is figuring out a battle plan, imo.

We've treaded over a lot of the same ideas time, and time again.
Swf filters, swf labels, extra blood points for killers facing swf, loss of perks, loss of performance, enhanced performance, etc.
We don't really know what to do to fix the problem, or even smooth things over temporarily since none of the ideas get used.
I can't imagine it's any easier on the dev team. We're all human.

I keep hearing the goal is ti bring Solo to SWF level, and then buff killers, but I never really see plans on how to buff killers.

We know the cons, though. SWF abuses SWF to gain an absurd amount of advantages through chat, abuse it to get matched against low rank killers, some of whom aren't equipped for fighting SWF, thus get easier games, among other issues.
Swf supporters talk like it should be the new baseline difficulty, and that killers should just play up to people playing an easier game, and breaking the game to get advantages the game isn't designed for them to have.

Until something is done, more and more killers are going to get the wake up call, and make more threads.
If nothing is done to benefit the killers regarding SWF, they will keep dodging, and eventually leave the game. Especially since SWF is getting more and more common.
  • To the players that think dodging is fair game when it looks to be an unfun match, do you think they should allow survivors to see the killer profile in the lobby again so they can do the same?

  • I can't say I experience the lag as a survivor.

I mostly just play doc for rituals. He has an infectious laugh, too.
  • Maybe if you're so worried about dodging, you should start looking into some of the big realistic reasons killers dodge?

No? Enjoy being dodged. Wait, ya can't. Oh well.

We don't really care you don't play that way. You speak for yourself.

We don't care if SWF was intended. How people use it to break the game wasn't. Duh.

We don't care about items being in the game, so is everything you complain about killers over, like NOED. A d dodging.
And, again, how people break the game with the items wasn't intended.

The ever popular "grow a pair" argument? Says the people defending those that break the game to make it easier.
    Irony. Hypocrisy. Take your pick.

"I never dodge!" And I never gave a #########, and I'm sure many others don't. You can't prove it. We don't care either way.

"Well, I beat SWFs!" Oh, nice, you have the SWF killer loadout some of us don't have.
But in the end? You can't prove it, and we don't care.

"You aren't supposed to win all the time!" And you're not supposed to break the game to ensure that.
Most of us just want a fair game, win or lose.

  • I do gens, and my best to stay out of sight of the killer.

Wish others would do more of the same. I get hooked, I see them panic hard.
  • I know how you feel.
If it wasn't for that massive imbalance between SWF and killer, there's no telling where I would be. As much as I love the game, I take breaks, not that I have a lot of time as it is.

There's not a lot of pep talk that can be done.

But yeah, start saving moris. Run rancor instead of bitter murmur even though it's only really good in the end to get that kill, maybe.

    Hopefully something will be done.
  • Maybe when dedicated servers hit.

Maybe you could watch a match from everyone's perspective, too?

Survivors seeing through the killers eyes, and vice versa, seeing how that crazy dude ran the killer like a meth head?
  • I think they live in a reality show styled mansion with the survivors.
Both sides drop the "act" because the trials we see are like professional wrestling. Looks impressive, but is nowhere as near harmful as it seems. We still have our survivors after all they've been through.

The Hag and Claudette have a garden together, and share a love of plants.
Hag is wondering if she should take Claudette as an apprentice.

Huntress has a close friendship with Susie. Huntress is self conscious about her size.
Susie is self conscious about her braces.
They encourage eachother, and Susie wants huntress to grow her hair out.

Jake is a social butterfly. Generally popular but never as deep into anything as anyone.

Nea, Jeff, and Legion hang out and listen to metal by bands with names that look like killer offerings in a pile.

Kate and Billy hang out due to the appreciation of country music, and beer.

  • Latest, because I can't remember the greatest, I was in a trial as Kate. Gens popped. Gates open. Person on the hook. Trapper was camping. I'm not mad about it. See trapper hitting the hooked survivor. Rude.
I creep closer, and closer, looking for my spot.
    Hell with it! LEEEEEEROOOOOYYYYYYYY JEEEEEENKINS!
I run in, no trap. Save. No trap. Stay to help the hooked person run. No trap. Run for the gate. No trap.
"Gruh!" I hear a grunt of pain behind me. Trapper stepped in his own trap.

End game is different--or if you KNOW someone is near. But I just finished a killer match and guess what? Killed 2 of them WITHOUT hook camping. AND had fun. We all did, because of the CHASE. I hooked someone, I took off to patrol generators. Only time I stayed near the hook was when I saw 3 people attempting to rush the hooked one--and even then, I didn't just sit there, I chased the survivors. Yeah, hooked girl got away, but I got her eventually. And the chase was a thrill. No doubt, the players much enjoyed it. I was complimented for being a fun killer.

See, what is the funnest part about slashers/horror games? It's not someone getting killed, it's the chase, the suspense, sometimes them getting caught (Texas Chainsaw Massacre style), getting away, only to potentially be caught again.

When people don't hook camp, this is captured VERY well and a lot of fun. When people just camp the hook until a player dies, it sucks that aspect out. It takes away the most fun part of taking part in a slasher/horror game! Gotta say, because I can control what I, the killer, does, I think I enjoy being killer more. Even getting just 1 or 2 kills seems to give a lot of BP too so--fun all around!

Believe me, I agree the chase is pretty much the best part. The hunt, too.
Maybe the killer scoring system needs a reversal, or reworking so that chasing, and hitting, not hooks and sacrifices are the most beneficial for points?

Killers with no chill are annoying. They can have zero chill, but all it does is send me to the next game faster.

    What rank was?

Also run Kindred when playing solo.

16-15. Don't have kindred (or much of anything) on Claudette. The killers aren't exactly campy, either. all 3 just kinda run side to side and stuff. Even then I'm running into 3 man SWFs at the least (Green ranks) and this keeps happening.

Yeah that's how rank 15 survivors usually act.
Kindred is not only for camping killers, survivors can see each others auras when you are hooked meaning that they will be more organized. If they see someone coming for you the others know they gotta keep doing gens.

Sounds like a plan, though dedicating a slot to it seems rough just to get people who should have some idea of what's going on to get things done.

    It's really worth the slot.
If they are all doing gens and stop doing them to rescue you that's a really waste of time right there. If they are 3 swf i guess that wouldn't happen but many other times they are just 2 swf or maybe none.
Repairing gens is ALWAYS the main priority and the sooner they get done the higher the chances to survive.
My solo build is focused on aura reading because information is the only thing i need, which is bond + open handed + kindred, feel free to try it out. Also Kindred isn't a teachable so i guess you can get it fast.
Try to rank up so you don't get matched with those survivors. If you need help just let me know and i'll help if i'm online.
Most of my survivors are missing kindred and the other 2 aren't teachable, but I have a loadout to try and shoot for. Thanks.
Hurry up, open handed is in the shrine!
Also Ruin btw, i think you said yoy don't have it either.
I'll try for the shrine but I just got a new round of devotion.

Ruin became teachable, but RNG, and all.

Thank you for the heads up!
  • SWF in, and of itself isn't bad. Its the imbalances that come hand in hand with a virtual guarentee.
If they played without voice as the game intends, they might have been tolerable.

Problem is too many want to abuse voice, or just do out of habit and broadcast information that shouldn't be known which gives them free perks.

The problem is they aim for killers who aren't, and especially cannot be ready to fight them for easier matches.
They don't have to be a crack team to give Ill equipped killers problems.
Even some of the best killers struggle with a bad loadout, so the average, or worse killers are in it worse.
Not everyone has pages of rank 3 perks, and dozens of ebony mori, and stacks of high end addons. Kindly get such notions out of your head.

Let's not forget tan ranks get to run into green, purple, and red ranks.
If you have a problem with depipping killers, this aughta burn your bacon, too.

The problem is they're all basically a bit too tryhard. They aren't interested in the killer's fun, just getting in, and out.  Again they don't have to be crack commandos because they're playing in easy mode 2x over.

    Then there's the toxic ones.

Gitting gud vs broken ######### isn't fun for a lot of people. Doing it constantly is even less fun. Especially knowing the survivors game is easier while the killers is harder.
SWF is basically rampant now. Fewer and fewer want to play blindly anymore.
We gave SWF a chance. The ones looking for easy games and taking advantage of them ruined it for you.

The game isn't balanced for communication, and coordination. Expect dodges accordingly.
  • The ones with zero chill.
Their goal is just to plow through the game as fast, and as ruthlessly as possible.

Am I saying they should stop? Nope. Just saying it's boring to get mauled by a killer.

Kinda ironic that survivors also generally SWF because they want easier games.
Tan rank killers running into green, purple, and red rank survivors, SWF using voice chat to coordinate beyond what most killers can handle because the game isn't balanced for that level of communication, etc.
  • Wanna know the difference between survivors dodging killers vs killers dodging survivors?

The game is way more balanced for what the survivors would dodge regarding killers than vice versa.
