I would rather not have politics in the game.

But silly cosmetics are off limits anyway.

    Santa Clown is pretty silly.

Not when you realize he's still a serial killer. It's like those vans with free candy crudely written on the side.
... ok, it is kinda silly, but also dark humor, imo.

When wearing Trump's mask killer deports survivors instead of killing them.
The hooks become catapults that launch survivors over the wall into the abyss.

You kinda answered your own question. It's to give the killer a chance of preventing a hatch play.
It's really just because it only triggers once the sacrifice animation ends. Then that survivor's status changes from hooked to sacrificed, the game detects that only one survivor is alive, and the hatch opens. No more, no less. That's why it'll open instantly after a mori.
    Makes sense in that way.
I guess I'm just of the mindset of giving, and getting sporting chances.

I mean it could have been programmed to open as soon as the spider legs impale the survivor post struggle, or such.
  • Maby I don't do YouTube but would be cool to have a hybrid panda skin lol or a omhwreacker I like there YouTube's
Ohmwrecker is a part of this one. There is a Huntress mask with his logo. Almost swear he has a wraith torso, too.

Also I'd love to see some HybridPanda stuff.

I'd like a Hilary one as well please.

That should be or Spirit or Hag though

Hag, easily, but at the same time, what an insult to Hag. She deserves better. Haha
  • Hope they update the roster a bit if they do. I'd like to see Noob3, HybridPanda, and Monto in on it.
  • We can't help what gives the killer bad vibes.
For me it's a likely SWF, or multiples of the same tool. Mostly toolboxes, or flashlights. Feels like I'm I  for a bad time.

I only solo, too. I try not to take stuff in, and hope the killer has less incentive to mori. Haha

Plus I don't go in there to beat up on the killer.
  • Well, I'd say Ginosaji again, but legion looks like they already took the place of killer in a hoodie hitting people uselessly over and over and over again, taking forever to take a person down, but being great in a chase.
  • Sounds like a request for a perk like pharmacy but for purple rank flashlights instead of green or better health kits.
  • Someone that desperate for the hatch is an easy grab. Just back up and grab them as they jump in.

  • Don't camp=gimme free unhooks.

Trying to figure out why a killer that doesn't want to give free unhooks should, and what they get out of it.
Especially against an SWF that's confident enough to troll the killer, and probably does most of the trial.

If you think being a 110% m1 killer is good at all, you should see Montos videos. He makes short work of Legion even with No Mither runs.

Keep in mind PTB doesn't factor rank. He was playing against rank 15 killers and stuff. Ofc a player with +2k hours will beat a baby easy every time. Also the killer is brand new and in the first few days no one will fully understand how to best play him. Also also killer players are probably not explicitly playing to 4k they are playing to experiment with stuff and figure out the new killer.

That doesn't mean Legion is weak or strong. Just that you can't really use the PTB as reliable evidence for or against. We need results from games with equally ranked players playing normally. When you can bring a purple toolbox with a BNP or insta-heals every game it kinda skews results.

There's no way he did about a dozen matches all against low level killers. Statistically it should not be possible.

Legion doesn't seem complex. Hybrid Panda got it rather quickly.

    Legion doesn't seem strong.

Well, if they aren't going to test Legion thoroughly, I hope I don't have to pay to be a Guinea pig when legion goes live.
  • If you think being a 110% m1 killer is good at all, you should see Montos videos. He makes short work of Legion even with No Mither runs.
  • Survivors keep complaining that they don't have fun with some play styles, like camping and tunneling.

I'm trying to figure out when they started caring about the killers fun?
I'm hard pressed to see any interest in that.

A lack of either side giving a crap about the fun of the other is a problem.
We're too busy trying to punish each other instead of trying to incentivize fun play tactics.

Longer matches, multiple chases, multiple hooks. That's fun. Everyone has opportunities for points.

Instead they shoot for 3 minute gen rushes, and 5 minute games.
They complain and say they should get what amounts to free unhooks.
They abuse the ######### out of SWF, communication, and coordination.
They tell killer just to play against SWF while knowing that if dodging SWFs became easy everyone would do it for, you know, some reason.
Game is real easy for them. They get to have a laugh... at the killers expense. Game gets harder on the killer, they don't care.
It's somehow okay for them to play as efficiently, and efficiently as possible and go straight for the jugular, but heaven forbid a killer does it.

Seriously, do you think it's fun for a killer to leave with under 10k blood points? Coz I know damn well survivors hate it.
  • Of those 10 options?
8 would probably be the priority for me.
Back when Flavor Flav was getting roasted, a friend asked him how he could sit there and take all of it.
Flavor replied along the lines of "coz I'm getting paid."
Making a profit from the headaches of swf? Well, never underestimate the mercenary nature in people.

3 would be ok. Slow the game down a little.

7 would be fun. Even as a survivor. It's way more interesting to get taken down with a mori than dying on hook. Granted cutting the life down super short might suck worse.
  • Yeah, they ######### well do need to be worthwhile to play.

It's part of the formula that makes a killer fun. A missing part of that formula will make it unstable and the fun will fade.

What good is it to have a killer only good up to a certain rank, then keep being held down?
  • @CrowS said:
Also, what people call "Camping" is all over the damn place. Some consider EVER checking the hook to be Camping.

I like to take a loop, just to the edge of my terror radius, and circle back from another angle. I almost ALWAYS catch the unhook in the middle, and immediately down the "saved" survivor. 2nd Hook & 2nd Stage coming right up!!!

Then I chase the "savior", and double back to the first victim. They die, and I'm getting back to the 2nd player right in time for them to be "saved", too ...

    Lol.

my definiton of camping is not leaving the area of my hook where i can still hear your heartbeat loudly. if people are nearby and you know for sure they are there then fine but most times people are far away come to get me then leave when they see he is near me

    I wouldn't call that a fair definition.
Different killers have different terror radius and figuring out that in game meters is a challenge for some.

Then there's perks that change terror radius.

Myers can get 0 in 2 different ways, one of them being Insidious which works for everyone but freddy, and Huntress.

Pig, and wraith can also go down to 0 in their alt travel mode.
  • I've said it before, and I will say it again. It is absolutely insane how safe survivors are in, and near the gate room.
It's insane how safe survivors are near, and at the hatch.

That's why they camp there, and wait so they can BM you before they leave.

They simply have zero fear most times. Unless you can hit them with a surprise one hit down before they get to the edge, they can generally make it.

Sure, Blood Warden can help some, but only if you hook someone. If they're all in the gate room before then, it's not going to help.
  • Killer base kit gets permenant max bloodlust, and kicking the generator completely resets it immediately.
  • Thinking about it, what messes with stealthy gameplay isn't how hard to do it is, it's how unrewarding it is.

I have no problem being stealthy. Wait for someone to get hurt, and stay away from it so other people can get the saves. Do gens. Do totems.

The devs want players rewarded for interacting with the killer which usually leads to long chases, or sacrifices, so a play style against that isn't terribly rewarding.
It's usually the people that can run, juke, and loop like a meth head that gets the points.

  • SWF are generally not worth the headache, and the Devs are too scared to make them worth the headache, or help us dodge them by labeling them.

Some people are scared people will dodge them to death. Gee, I wonder why?
  • The setup on that would practically require both people being in on it. I don't see that happening.

I mean the concept is cool, like Mortal Kombat stage fatalities, but we have players that DC on normal moris. Not all of them, but enough.
  • @Malakir said:
DW dude, after the new patch camping would be even more common if it makes it in the live servers as it is now

Yeah. Killers will have way more to worry about.

"Well, lets hook this guy, and see what BBQ says.... And I see no one. Are they all here, or are they all aura blocking? The new solid generator auras... is that someone by one across the map? Nah."
"Geez, are they going to have the improved borrowed time?"
"They're going to use that perk that breaks the hook on rescue, huh?"

"Well, I saw no one with BBQ. Bet they'll have that improved borrowed time. I'll have to hit them twice no matter what. And they may break my hook if they rescue. Is there a hook I can use near by?... gosh. Better camp."

To say the least. I don't know what the game plan is here. They broke one of the strongest anti-camping perks, and offered up ways to absolutely punish a killer for allowing an unhook.

  • @TOXICCLAUDETTEMAIN said:
Survivors dont get that much bloodpoints especially in the survival category. I'll have to play 5 games in order to get 100k for survivor but play 2 games or even 1 with survivor pudding and BBQ and Chilly for killer. Idk it just kinda annoying really wish survivors would get the same about of bloodpoints as killer because I've never seen a survivors with 32k unless they farmed with the killer.

Survivors have offerings, and better odds of getting WGLF than killers getting BBQ don't they?

No way should a survivor inherently get the bloodpoints of a killer using a powerful offering, and BBQ by default.

Killers, by default, generally earn more because they have to stay in the trial to get theirs. They don't get to leave early.

I get that earning less than 10k on a rough match is going to suck, though, but that isn't a survivor only thing.

  • Yeah, lets force killers to give survivors free unhooks.
Hey, lets let them be in healthy state when they get off the hook, too. Make extra sure that the killer HAS to chase and hit everyone twice all the time so they get cost valuable time.

Edit: Urgh. Seeing how powerful survivors are getting this is probably the next perk, or going to get added to one.

  • More cringe when they get Fedora dwight out. I think it was dwight.

I kinda cringe when I see people trying a little too hard. Not playing more ruthlessly, but obvious bait tactics. I'm chasing a meg, and she stops to heal herself briefly.
It's the last hook and the gates are open, or I'm doing a 3 gen strat and there's obvious "chase me!" people trying to bait me away.

  • What about this?

Anyone else see a fuzzy fanged ninja mask/beard instead of an upwards looking drooling animal?
(Also feels like me around bbq. Haha)

Side note, anyone ever end up paying an usual amount of attention to some things in the game? Like it grabs your attention, and you keep looking coz you can't let it go?
Like the way light reflects off Kate's rings when she does gens, or Mins mint nail polish when she does gens wearing the green scifi top?
  • Bbq and chili needs to be in the shrine more often. I feel like it would help a lot if there was more incentive to not face camp.
More points to get fresh meat, so to speak.

I hate to be like this, but maybe you should look into altering your playstyle some? Avoid the killer more, and let other people be the decoys more?
Its not me getting camped everygame. Some games yeah its me but often its other survivors.

Why cant people understand that? If someone complains about being camped its not because they're bad players or toxic players who get camped every game.

I have empathy for other people. I dont want to see someone have their game ruined because the killer is a really scummy human being.

Plus we get penalized in points for not unhooking. Then theres the major fact that its boring sat holding M1 on a gen while the killer sits at the other sife of the map on the hook.
Which is why I said what I said about BBQ. In general it would probably help.

I tossed in the general tips as a bonus. Helped me out a lot early on.

Kinda hard pressed to call the lack of unhooking a penalty. It's more not even earning the points to start with.
It might be the equivalent of camping killers since the devs said they wanted more interaction between the killers and survivors.
One complaint I see directly and indirectly are short games being bad games.  Emblems seem to reward not blowing through a trial.

As far as scummy players, while I don't pretend there aren't scummy killers, you might only know half the story in why the camping happens. It could be caused by a scummy survivor.
  • Bbq and chili needs to be in the shrine more often. I feel like it would help a lot if there was more incentive to not face camp.

I'm pretty sure that they all come from Survivors and all demand killers play certain ways as I've never seen a rule from a killer.
In other words I don't see both sides agreeing here, and Killers don't particularly benefit.

Don't let people tell you how to play. Just don't use exploits, or bugs, and such.
    @Rebel_Raven
I've been told by killers what outfits i shouldn't use. P3 claudette for instance.
    Yeah, you are right.
There's some lighter bitching from the killer community. It happens, but it doesn't feel as common as survivors, nor as numerous in topics.

  • The entity is a lovecraftian creature with a thought process so alien to us that to understand them is to understand madness. To gaze upon the entity is to see forever.

Besides the game would be pretty boring if it was just one lone killer.

Ask for a realistic WGLF buff, then? I don't believe a soul is stopping you. IIRC WGLF was adjusted because it encouraged unhooking people directly in front of a killer, and other potato tactics, though. Killers need to have fun, or at the least feel like they're accomplishing something in the face of the crap survivors put them through (Especially SWF having fun at the killer's expense), and it's only going to get worse with the new survivor and aura blocker lockers. So, yeah, why not make a perk better towards this goal?

There just seems to be so much rant after one measley nerf to BBQ and everyone is losing their minds. Meanwhile, survivors are still farming teammates with WGLF and just adding BT to not lose the points. BT is getting a solid adjustment, though. Killers aren't too thrilled. Survivors are. It's not a measly nerf either, it removes a hefty chunk of why people use it all together. Really, am I the only one who uses it for BP’s?? From all the post I’ve seen most killers use it for BP’s. They must’ve changed their minds overnight.

but yes BT is getting a buff, all the more reason to farm with WGLF right?? That’s why WGLF deserves more of a readjustment then B.B.Q does right now. So because BT is getting a buff, WGLF needs one, too? That's a bit backwards thinking, IMO. BBQ is losing power. WGLF, and BT are not. WGLF needs an adjustment, a buff would be great and more proper than just bloodpoints. so you’re telling me if they took bloodpoints off of BBQ and kept the auras, you would still use it??

Face it you use it for the BP more than anything  Well, bluntly I don't even have the perk, but I imagine I'd be using it for both based on seeing numerous streamers. I don't like to camp, and I wouldn't mind hooking everyone once. BBQ would help with that. I might use it for auras because it's got more uses than something like Rancor, or bitter murmur which are maxed out at 5. But people have various want and needs. In the end, though, I'm not arguing against WGLF buffs, but you're looking to put the boots to killers in the process. That's not cool. Are you serious you don’t even have BBQ???

Wahfs the point of your side of the argument then??

    What's the point of yours?

This whole venture is pretty pointless without a plan beyond "Screw killers, make survivors EVEN STRONGER!!!!"

It's certainly not my fault that even with your vast time spent with the game you can't think of a worthwhile buff like I suggested.

Dude you don’t even use BBQ why are you still on here?

Because I sure as hell will when I get it for one.

For two, I'd like it to be in good working condition for when/if I actually do get it.

Third, I gotta comment on such a poorly thought out plan which hasn't evolved beyond "Screw killers, make survivors EVEN STRONGER!!!!"

Fourth, I'm actually trying to help you. Make a solid buff to WGLF that won't screw up balance and it might happen. You really think people are going to rally behind you if you're going to put them on the back burner?

Fifthly, you're bothered by killers looking out for their own best interests in the face of potential destruction of their abilities? REALLY? I mean talk about shooting yourself in the foot if you actually do play killer. Or survivor, too, actually! I'd think a survivor player would be thrilled to see killers get a real reason not to camp.

How long of a list do you need, here?

I’m sorry if I hurt your feelings. You have to realize though, I got hatch from a really good Myers BEFORE this nerf and that was just by hiding behind a gen. So in case you’re wondering BBQ is really only good towards from the beginning to the middle, once you get to a high enough rank and use it, survivors will know you have it and will come close enough to hide from it, but far enough for it to not make a difference to the killer.

What's that got to do with anything? Aside from basically admitting BBQ is just going to get it worse with the aura blocking being added to the game?

And beginning and middle is way bigger than the end. Especially with depipping people trying actively to have more fun in lower ranks.

Well, bluntly I don't even have the perk, but I imagine I'd be using it for both based on seeing numerous streamers.

  • I don't entirely believe it will work. Part of the allure of BBQ is that it shows people far off to go after. It gives them a general idea of where to go. Without that, they'll have to wonder if it's better to camp knowing someone is coming eventually, or the game is screwed and they'll have to secure a kill, or wander off blindly.

Also, this would lead to the reverse of what happens now. Survivors going away from the hook to get out of range, then just going back in immediately once the timer s up, wouldn't it?

The best way to go, IMO, is just to give it a massive AOE that shows auras near and far. Especially with several new aura blocking abilities on the horizon.
Yeah, it seems powerful that way, but knowing no one is near the hook, and they're all out there is strong encouragement to leave the hook. It removes the part that can turn the killer into a paranoid wreck.
This way the killer knows if anyone is close, or not, and can react accordingly with a target to go after.

    Urban evasion
    Dance with me
    Lithe

    Self care
    Detectives hunch
    Deja vu
    Technician

Sprint burst is ok if you have urban evasion, but it's way too easy to use accidentally.

Windows of opportunity is good, too.
  • Am I the only one that thought that the Whispers icon was a lady staring at the wind and never knew it was an ear and the side of the head?

Apparently not. I kinda gave up on trying to figure out what it was exactly.
Now that I see it in that picture, cleaned up, I know what it is now. Lol

just because lockers can block auras, does not mean that every single survivor will either 1, think to jump in a locker, or 2, be close enough to a locker to get in one in time for the killer hooking another survivor. agreed the more 'stealthy' survivors will be aware of whats going on and most likely want to hide their aura in a locker, but there are so many survivors who wont. Let it play out and see for yourself.

Survivors can also hide behind a gen or if possible try to get within 40m to avoid it like they are already doing. The sum of possible conters is, why this change will negatively affect BBQ. After this BBQ will most likely lose it's entire concept of giving you an overview over the entire game situation. An aspect a killer always benefits from.

hiding behind a gen doesnt work, as any killer can tell you, the gen and survivor auras are different colours so you can still see them.
Also if people are relying on this 1 perk to 'sasve them' then they need to challenge themselves to get better at the game.
I've been in games where the killer DID NOT run BBQ and chilli and still annihilated us. Proves it is NOT needed to get a 4k.

Iirc, the generator aura was changed in PTB to be solid, so it might be possible if it goes public.

Telling people they need to get good when the game is getting easier for you is kinda screwed up.

I'd think survivors are aware of the health status of their comrades at all times since it's shown in the HUD, and on screen.

I'd say between the indications of when a comrade is injured, then dying, the aura of them on the ground shows up, the aura when they get picked up, and the time to the hook is enough time to find a locker, get in, wait 4 or 5 seconds after the hook, then exit.

Or they could run distortion which blocks BBQ entirely 3 times.

depends, if a player is grabbed off a gen or totem or vaulting etc... we don't get that info, unless we have bond or empathy (or the new perk in ptb) also if killer has knock out we dont get the aura of where that survivor is downed...
And.. some survivors do seem oblivious.. I play solo, and the amount of others who would rather leave you to bleed out than attempt to save you is ridiculous. Also bbq and chilli works on slugged survivors...

You do get that info, though. The grabbed survivor shows up in dying state on the HUD.
If they have knockout, the HUD still shows the health. I don't know if knockout shows the falling animation aura or not.

I play solo exclusively. The chaos of not knowing what your comrades will do is interesting. Some are oblivious, yes. Some stay focused on the task at hand if they feel someone else will rescue or they have time to get a gen done before you struggle.

Yeah, I suspect there is going to be a lot of slug plays once all this goes public. But survivors have at least 1 perk that let's them get back up.

  • Distortion would block BBQ for 3 of the 4 hooks people try to get for the blood points.

Let's be real. The point of bbq is to show killers where far off targets are to entice them to go after those to get more hooks to get more points, and help people get off the hook.
Also maybe clue them in if there is a survivor near by via the blind spot.
Using distortion to block the aura reading falsely indicates that someone is near the hooked survivor when they aren't.
People near a hooked survivor are going in for the save.
Killers do not want to give people free unhooks.
So they stay near the hooked person to catch the person who isn't there and thus "camp" either hard camp, or patrol.

SWFs aren't the problem! You just have to play about 12 hours a day to hone being a killer! Get good like me!
    eyeroll

Goddamn, really? People commenting to "git gud" that get to play the game a shitton more than most, and are probably running a huge arsenal, if not a full arsenal of perks telling people that likely don't have the hours, or perks that one of the hardest ways to play the game is fine?

I swear the way they talk, and offer nothing to help combat SWFs is BEYOND useless. Bragging don't help.

People that stream, have massive arsenals, lots of time to play, etc. are so far removed from the average player, and their problems. Period. That's it.
They don't know anymore what it's like, and they normalize their experiences with everyone else' to the point that anyone that defies their "normal" looks crazy. The way they go on about liking the difficulty, never dodging, etc. that they look at people who don't enjoy the difficulty spike as anomalies. smh

It's like a millionaire telling an average person to just cut a check to get major car repairs done, or something.

P.S.: With upcoming changes to BT, a perk that breaks hooks, aura blocking lockers, and who knows what else favoring survivors, being a killer looks like it's going to start to suck.

Why do streamers literally playing the game as their fulltime job struggle so much against SWF then?
How is a normal player supposed to compete?

Also, if you throw equally skilled survivors in a SWF against a killer, the SWF will always win if the skillvl is somehow "good" (few exceptions)

I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say. I agree with you.

Swf is like steroids in sports. It gives an unnatural, unintended advantage to the survivors that the game is not balanced around.
