  • I like Legion. Comic book villain Suzy (green and purple = comicbook villain. Lex luthor, green goblin, joker, etc.) Has nice tights.

Hope legion gets more polish, though.

Definitely have reason to lvl wraith if bloodhound isn't in shrine soon.
  • It's going to take practice and the devs optimizing her hatchet collisions to do well hitting people on the fly, and over obstacles.

There is programs that will put crosshairs on your screen, and if all else fails, a clear sticker, or tape to add crosshairs manually.
Edit: being on ps4, you'll probably have to go clear tape option, and maybe tweak your control sensitivity.

Circle drops survivors, but you can edit key maps some.

Best bet is to try and hit survivors throwing pallets down, or during their vaults when they cannot really dodge because they are mid animation.
  • Statistically not just you, but mine was shicking people with the doc.

  • I'm really wanting to, but with upcoming changes to balance, and legion being so underwhelming, i need to wait and see.

It'll do more to get people to stop wanting SWF gone, and more to co-exist with them and get rewarded for the hassle. Maybe even get better as they play to earn those bonus BP, or some such.

I've proposed lots of ideas to help killers including some that a lot of survivors think are wildly op which some of them are. I've tried coming up with solutions to various problems yet some killer only see it as survivor buffs and killer nerfs.

I've suggested bp bonuses for killers facing swf with the larger amounts the larger the group size and yet i get ridiculed for it. I've made plenty if suggestions and given advice but as you cans ee from some of the responses here.

If you give them good advice, use logic and common sense, tell them that removing swf would kill the game. Then you get the typical response of insults, histrionics, the I'm smarter than you, you don't play the game etc etc.

These are people that won't ever change and even if you removed swf would still complain about something because it's their lack of skill that holds most of them back. for instance I suck at Nurse because I don't play her enough mainly because she doesn't fit my playstyle.

I'm the same way with Billy and several other killers but give me Spirit and I destroy pretty much at will, I love Trapper, Pig and Myers. They all fit my playstyle of an ambush type killer that stalks their prey and then plays with them at their leisure.

I don't pick Bubba and then complain that everytime I get 360'd it's survivors fault that I'm chasing them with my chainsaw held aloft all the time. I don't pick a killer and automatically blame it on swf because i screwed up or made mistakes.

I've been in tons fog ames all solo lobbies where everyone joins separately sometimes up to minutes apart at all ranks. The killer does badly and then the typical you only won because of swf despite the very obvious evidence to the contrary.

In fact experienced solo players will destroy a killer at high ranks more often than 4 man SWF short of the swat teams which are extremely rare. There's several plays I know at rank 1 that're godlike players and they'll absolutely destroy most killers at rank 1.

Why because they know how to play and take advantage of killers that're going to tunnel, one has a name with looped being part of it. I've watched as they've looped killers endlessly because the killer would try and chainsaw them instead of going for a very easy m1 attack.

I've watched these players 360 killers endlessly because the killer would just keep lunging or going to the chainsaw attack with Billy. I've kited a killer around the entire map for 7 minutes before without ever using a vault or pallet.

I had a Myers try and stalk me on Thompson House for 3 complete loops without ever vaulting or looping a same spot or pallet. During that time my teammates kepot working on gens through his Ruin. I mean 3 straight laps around Thompson House map using the furthest edges of the map says a lot.

The devs are trying to make things right and slowly moving in the right direction but for those whining the loudest removing SWF isn't the answer. They'll only be satisfied if they can 4k every game and survivors basically stand under the hook for them.

I haven't seen you propose many ideas lately.
And like I said before on your tips, they're kinda useless if they're in another thread.
You haven't offered any idea to counter removal from what I saw. You just ranted at everyone.

Honestly for everything we agree on to combat SWFs, it seems like it all goes back to square one every thread.

You just assumed it wouldn't work to try and put them on another course?

Looking back through this thread, you really haven't offered anything but ridicule, and a business standpoint, and removing SWF might kill the game.

And the notion they're altruistic which is kinda vague, and not particularly useful.

When I started loathing SWFs, I wanted them gone, too. Same as lots of others, but I hadn't posted yet, iirc. I wanted to know how the hell these people were so coordinated so I researched.

Then i read some well reasoned, civil, brief statements that weren't rants, or tirades as to why SWF should stay.
Got me thinking, yeah they are right. If I got my friends on this game, I'd want to SWF, too.
I should not deprive others of that.
I'm not one to try and tell people how to game,  and I expect similar in return.
    Good points!

Which lead to me wanting SWF to still exist, but not be such a massive throrn in the asses of people just starting out like me, and hell, anyone. There's a reason people say even top tier killers would dodge them.
So, filters? Labels? Bonus points, especially in BP?

Like I said, people will still complain about SWFs because lets face it, they can make a game unreasonably tough, especially for low rank killers. Playing at high rank, you seem kinda out of touch with that, and what it's like.
Its just going to get worse with the new match making hiding SWFs more.

It would probably be easier if we just started showing them that there are alternatives.

@powerbats posts resumed in one line:

"Waaah, waaah, dont take my only way to win."

Translation you can't refute my arguments so you resort to that nonsense again. hint I play mostly solo and when I play swf i mostly play for fun. The fact you and the rest just can't beat a swf team and or blame any loss on swf instead of your own bad plays says it all.

I agree that SWF should NOT be removed from the game, but killers need a way to have a fair game. Implementing unranked mode would be a great solution. Ranked for solo, unranked for SWF.

Yet most of the responses so far have been to remove swf from the game entirely like the person below you and there's also the fact your ideas won't work.

You'd be splitting off a huge portion of the player base which is the swf players that play for fun and the remaining group won't be big enough to support a ranked system. You'd have a huge population imbalance the same as if you removed swf from the game.

If you had a huge population like say Overwatch or League does a separate pair of modes would be entirely feasible but the population of gamers n here hasn't reached that critical mass yet.

This is what all of the remove swf from the game and all of the separate modes people don't seem to understand.

You know me. I'm not one to say get rid of SWFs, but I will say blindly permitting them to put their collective boots up the asses of killers will go a long way to ensure DBD NEVER gets the numbers of overwatch, or League.
No game would allow people to bend, and break the game that damn hard and have a large population.

I love the game, and the first week or so I was ready to recommend the game to others, but now with a few months under my belt? Hell no.
SWF is a big reason for that. I won't sit here, and pretend it's balanced.
I'm not going to recommend the a game with such a near broken to utterly broken element to it, and put that frustration on others.
Knowing my luck the first match they get will be an SWF with a red rank that will make the match a ######### and a half, and turn them off with the ######### match making.
I've been running into reds, and purples mixed with greens and tans all week.

SWF may have saved the game, but the sheer unwillingness to do something to make facing them worthwhile, or give the tools to dodge them is keeping it crippled.
And lets face it, the devs could have done things to do that by now, but would rather let SWFs have their arsenal. Like seeing the killer's loadout, and blab it mid match.

Them being "overly altruistic" as an excuse only goes so far.

Until the game is balanced around SWFs, I can't recommend it. I like it, but there's that element of brokenness, and frustration people don't seem to want to do much about.

And it might help if you, instead of kicking in the door, and firing off with both barrels at anyone that even dares to complain about SWFs to maybe propose the ideas you like as alternatives to help adjust for the difficulty? Not just "git gud!"?

  • Well, considering several factors, there's an obvious choice for the next selections...in the series.

    MOOORTAAAAL KOMBAAAAAAAAT!!!!! Techno music

Because Freddy and leatherface were a part of it.

Shang Tsung can Mori people by saying "YOUR SOUL IS MINE!!!" before ripping it out.

    Then there's fatality moris.

Currently Pig is the only Killer (assuming the last survivor has a BT on their head) who can win a hatch standoff. All she has to do is stand there and either watch the survivor's timer run out or wait for the grab.

    I haven't had a match like that. =/
It angers me that they're allowed to escape with the Bear Trap on their head.

Although I'm not a fan of the current hatch mechanics in general, it would be nearly impossible to escape in a 1v1 situation against the Pig if you had a BT on your head without being allowed to use the hatch.

Glad someone else said it. I agree.

  • A reward for bad play? No, a punishment for bad play.
If you were good you would have a good idea of where totems usually spawn, have a perk to find them, and/or find the lit noed totem, and break them.

  • Moris are more interesting than hook kills.
  • I'm not chasing you, I'm just aggressively duck walking to the same destination!

  • It wouldn't work, a disguised killer.

You would either turn into a survivor not involved in the match.
Or a survivor that is and people would notice the fake when they run into the fake.

And something pretty important. If the killer stays disguised, people will get suspicious they haven't seen the killer, realize the killer is disguised, and they will be paranoid about everyone.

  • Try running Small Game, or Detective's hunch if you have it to help find totems.
Small game isn't locked behind anyone so you should get it sooner than later.

I feel like some of the points of the perk system are to either make you better at doing something, help you achieve a goal (find and break totems in this case), or help you do something you're not super great at, like finding and breaking totems.

Good news is once you find enough totems, you will probably have a good idea of where to look for them because there are only so many places it can spawn.

In outdoor maps 3 common points are right beside a spawn point.
    Right beside the killer shack.
And on the hills, usually on the ramp.

The hatch is a really bad gameplay mechanic, so is two exits. Only one exit is necessary.

I gotta disagree. Two exits prevent a killer with NOED from just standing at the gate controls, or gate, swatting people down.
One exit is just a hell of a bottle neck.

The hatch could have been done better, but without it, the 4th survivor, the last one left would have next to no chance to survive. The killer would not have much of a challenge.
Push comes to shove, a survivor will just hide, and troll the killer since they feel cornered otherwise.
But hey, you can grab people jumping into the hatch, prevent 2 generators from getting done, or slug the last 2. That should take care of most encounters.

Yeah? The thing is though NOED, is ONLY necessary because there are two exits.
Two exits is also a problem because the killer cannot be at two places at once, and with two exits it's way more likely everyone escapes if no one at that point has been sacrificed. The two exits is also a problem.

Still, the hatch is a really bad gameplay mechanic, especially also because the only way to avoid it is what you just explained, and it sucks to be slugged. In regards to grabbing, that requires you to be able to actually grab, which is why there are stand offs in the first place.

    I must disagree once again.

If you will, consider your average chase.
You hit a survivor. They get a speed boost. You wipe your blade, then resume the chase.
How far do they usually get?
That distance from the escape point is basically a guaranteed escape.
Now lets factor in the second necessary hit to down a healthy survivor which means catching up, and hitting them again.
That distance from the escape point is still pretty guaranteed. They flop, and if that doesn't get them out, the crawling while you wipe your blade again just might.

This also applies to the hatch, basically.

And them there's dead hard which can extend the chase, or DS which can also make a longer chase.
Or a survivor using Lithe or Balanced Landing. I've even seen some use sprint burst as a poor mans dead hard.

That is a large area of safety around the escape points.

NOED would still be incredibly useful even with one exit.
With just one exit a killer can basically hold the game hostage by standing at the lever. Especially with NOED to help prevent the gate from opening which is like an even worse hatch standoff.
Infact the killer can just go to the controls and use that as their only objective to guard.
Even with current hatch mechanics it will not open until there is 1 survivor left alive (or they use a key) so unless 3 get killed the hatch will not open.

The hatch is far from perfect, I agree, but it's almost always the killers fault it opens.

Being slugged does suck. If it keeps happening I'm pretty sure there are 1 or 2 perks that let you fight slugging.

As for the grab, you just gotta fake them out. Easier said than done, sure, but possible.

See I would like for solo players to have equal power to SWF.... but how though? You see unless they separate solo from SWF I don't see this happening because when they buff solo they SWF...

Literaly the only thing that separate solo and swf from being equal is that swf rhyme with voice chat.

Making perk baseline to try to close the gap is ridiculous and a huge waste of time since simply adding voice com between the survivor will give the same potential to solo and swf

Like Marie-Antoinette once said "Let them have voice com"

People won't use solo voice chat because they don't want to have to listen to some 12 year old raging at them.

  • Yeah. SWF isn't going anywhere. It's basically vital to any online game.

That doesn't mean it's not a means to break this game.

That also doesn't mean we can't have a decent dodge method, either filters or labels.

At the very least, compensate the killer for going against people harder than they should be at the rank, and/or make SWFs match make against higher ranked killers than usual.

This idea is to get them to jump in, escape or caught, I dont care, as long as the game has a conclusion.

These things are repeated because they are our current solutions, imperfect as they are.

Yeah, tunnel vision is why they generally don't walk away. It's why killers don't often switch targets mid chase, and why survivors will be fixated on one particular gen.

I saw a killer mind game a survivor. can't remember who. They stood on the hatch, backed up, did a 360, then grabbed the survivor as they jumped in.

  • @powerbats

Sorry, I don't ignore these examples of killers arguing both sides because frankly I don't always read them, and I certainly don't retain the info.
I'm still going to need those examples if you don't mind?

Again, I didn't ignore that part.
"You also missed where I very clearly said "It might actually not be as bad as feared"
So, SWF dodging won't kill the game?

"In either case the biggest losers are still going to be either just you and the rest of the vocal minority or the entire community because most of the player base leaves."

So SWF dodging will kill them game?

But hey you'll never have to worry about swf ever again, oh sure you're lobby times will either be insane or you won't have a lobby.

So SWF dodging won't kill the game?

SWF dodging has been going on for ages anyhow, and the game is still here anyhow.

No, no, the "SWF x2, 3, 4" is still far closer to perfect than not.
It will allow for a killer to realize what they were up against, and helps dampen unrealistic expectations.
Most cases it's pretty easy to tell who's part of the SWF and who isn't (It's the people doing the coordinated stuff), so even a vague x2 indicator would help manage expectations, and experiences.
It won't account for strangers inviting eachother into game chats, but those aren't as common as SWF. I did look into how big the group was that invited me, though, and it was large enough to worry me.

It would be real easy to know who is in an SWF if they had a label by their name, but, well, I kinda have a strong idea of how you'd feel about that.

Yeah, 4 solos can destroy a killer, but the odds of getting 4 solos like that are rarer than getting an SWF. I mean you were shown stats that the overwhelming majority of lobbies have SWFs, right?
And the combined might of the survivors in SWF means they don't have to be as good as a killer destroying soloist, and they especially don't have to be as good as 4 individual killer stompers.

The MIT study means bupkis to me. It isn't important what the supposedly toxic team thinks, it actually revolves around the experiences of the person on the receiving end. If they feel the general experience of the game is toxic, there's not much you'll do to change their minds.
Also asymmetrical games are a different animal than most.

SWFs don't go into the match intending to bully, be toxic, etc? I can honestly say I've seen more evidence that that's false than not.
I.E. Remember that thread where a low lvl Leatherface went against an SWF of reds? Apparently the only thing that wasn't fun for the SWF was the level gap which was found out post match, and that was arguable for 3/4 of the team. 1/4 apologized post match by admission.
Look at threads that focus on satisfying wins, and you'll see tons of tales of toxic SWFs.
Their usual "fun" IS bullying the killer for SWFs. Seeing how bad they can make the killer struggle before moving on to the next one.
I have NEVER had a match where the survivors just left the trial without being chased out. Even when it was obvious I didn't want to do it.

Here's a nail in the coffin. Toxicity/bullying is using external advantages to win a game. SWFs are extremely hard pressed to dodge that.

Killers kinda have reason to ignore "the last part" of the concept of buffing solos to SWF level, then Killers to to compensate because, well, the DS rework, the Freddy rework, the lingering issue of survivors seeing the killer's loadouts early, no real changes to help combat SWFs.
What is there to give killers faith that they will be buffed in a timely fashion instead of having to wait who knows how long after the solo survivors are buffed?
Oh, lets not forget the devs having this odd notion that not all killers need to be competitive. I.E. Legion who is basically a joke, yet is the newest killer. How long will Legion suffer until the devs realize Legion needs to offer something to the player?
I mean, I wanna like Legion, but as Legion stands, unless I get monster BP, I don't really want to play as a killer who's among the worst at killing.

Oh, and Devs inserted SWFs while being pretty sure that it would screw up the balance in the first place.

You pretty much do imply you have the hours, and arsenal to fight SWFs every time you brag you never dodge, that you in vs them, etc. etc.
Then there's the fact that you've probably been playing for more than a couple of months.

I'm not a killer main. In fact I play survivor more than I do Killer. A large part of that is SWFs, and the headaches they provide.
I want a fair shake, and an honest match, and SWFs generally are keen to deny me that by using communications/coordination which is underhanded.
We all want that, don't we? A fair shake? A honest chance to win?
Survivors don't want to end up facing omega blink super nurses with Ebony moris, or some such all the time do they?
At the same time Killers don't always want to face a team that gets a half dozen free perks, and can coordinate in ways unnatural to the game all the time.
But you seemingly act like Killers just have to, or face harsh punishment.

I gotta say it. It's pretty BS to complain killers don't want a challenge facing SWFs while ignoring the fact that SWF games are easier by default.
If survivors weren't afraid of a challenge they'd go solo. Or they would never DC, not even on laggy games. Or they would never blab the killer's perks. Or they'd suggest buffs for killers. Or they wouldn't use external programs to gain an advantage. Etc.
Downplaying the advantages they get, if not ignoring them is detrimental to your argument.
In other words, accusations of Killers not wanting to be challenged simply are meaningless in this case.

SWFs have a bad rep for a reason. They wouldn't have that bad rep if they played more honestly. And there's juuuuust enough that play leaning towards underhanded that gives SWFs that bad name to keep the bad rep going.
Ignoring that, or downplaying it is detrimental to your arguments.

Then there's the elephant in the room. Killers aren't balanced to fight SWFs. The game isn't balanced around them. Sure you can win against SWFs, but that's a useless argument because the game isn't balanced around that level of play. Not everyone is going to have the MLG skills, or arsenal to do it, and it's less effort on the part of the survivors.

You want Killers to take responsibility for opting out? Then SWF supporters need to take responsibility for doing what SWFs do to have their bad rep and put up with people complaining about them at the absolute least.

Deciding to punish average, or below average players for not wanting to vs people playing with a boost is pretty #########.
Match making is supposed to work, and honestly SWFs should vs killers of higher rank than normal to compensate for the boosted power the SWF gets.

Too true. I doubt we will get anything to help dodge SWFs and/or rewards for the higher difficulty they present.
In fact the new match making will make it harder to detect SWFs. tadaa, even easier to fool people into thinking they're getting a fair shake in the trial.

Truth be told I suspect they will push killers to the brink before even trying to balance them, if they ever do.
Not just against SWFs, but against solos buffed to SWF levels.
Hell, I bet the game will die before they deal with the issue.

That said, it won't stop people from complaining.

Aside from people complaining, I don't see why people are getting bent out of shape.

Some great ideas, Rebel. I also wanted to add that if the option was in place to block SWF and the cue times were too long, killers would stop blocking SWF - Problem Solved. Nature solves it, just like Darwinism. So there's no reason not to at least have THE OPTION TO DO SO.

BTW, currently on PS4 at the times I play - survivor cue times are ridiculous. Why? Because killers are sick of dealing with OP survive with friends. Just the idea of 4 people getting to pre-plan perks, items and add ons and getting to communicate the whole time against one person is inherently unfair, period.

Besides, if your such a killer main, why protest anyway. The game's in no danger.

Huh, so it's not just me that has long survivor queues on ps4?

I only solo as a survivor, and sometimes I end up on the tail end of a dodged lobby. I'm not mad even with the long queue.
Tonight I ran into a weird match as a survivor that I guess had an SWF in it because there was a red rank (rank 2 IIRC) in with people around rank 10.

Definitely sick of SWFs on this end when I play killer.

And I'm sure your using the tactic in the debate is working just as well on others as it works on you.

I didn't miss that part at all. That's you "using both sides" to your favor as you say, I guess. If not the usual flip flopping.

Here we go again. Helping people dodge SWFs will destroy the game!
But hey, maybe it won't and it'll just be the SWF dodgers that suffer?!
    Flip flop again.

I'd like to believe my stance on SWF is pretty stable at least since it doesn't really seem that way in replies.
Allow dodging via either filters or labels and/or make it worth putting up with them (I feel like we can at least agree on bonuses for going against them?) which, either way will help stamp out excuses to blame SWFs when it was just 4 good players. I'd like to see those excuses gone, too. Less variables. And less variables means it's easier to see where you screwed up. Kinda like the NC nerfs so they can balance characters that usually rely on them with a clearer picture of weak points.
Was it indeed an SWF that did that well, or was it 4 non communicating players?
At the least seeing a bonus like "SWF x 2,3,4" popping up will work as a post game label. A killer that doesn't see that can't blame an SWF. The slim possibility of the survivors creating a party to chat (I get invites every so often to quasi SWF against killers, and I refuse) may exist, but it should help lower complaints against SWFs.

Then again if SWFs are super common, as you say they are, super willing to be ruthless, and super willing to be toxic with less to no ability to dodge them (I.E. the new match making's camouflage) these people unhappy will continue to complain as they're expected to go from casual to MLG at the drop of a hat as they can't always detect the potential difficulty spikes.
Some people kinda hate that. Having to get sweaty on the fly. And if they don't, or can't go MLG then, well, they're going to get beaten down and probably walk out with, as it is, very poor amounts of blood points, and more motive to complain.
And lets not forget the game is still not balanced around SWFs. And may never be.

And you still have no apparent intent on trying to see things from the points of views of others. Everyone has your arsenal, hours, and experience, or better! People less prepared to deal with SWFs just don't exist!
I mean you do host teaching games, don't you? Or was that someone else I was thinking about? Sorry if it's not you that said that they hosted teaching games.
You aughta know the less prepared exist. Especially since KYF wasn't mentioned meaning you get to see a spectrum of killers interact with the survivors you're teaching. Not being able to grasp what you no doubt see for yourself is baffling.

Funny when people claim SWFs are easy.
But when you suggest a way to filter them out these people will also often say you don't want the challenge.
That if we filtered them out, that it would destroy our community.
That no one would play them even with so many people claiming never to dodge.

If SWFs were easy, if they weren't toxic, we would not want them filtered out of our lobbies, would we? I mean if SWF difficulty, and manners were in line with 4 solos, there wouldn't be an issue, would there?

But SWFs just had to start using game breaking strats.
And just had to get toxic because those strats made their game so easy.

Most killers seem to have no issue with SWF and fin them relatively easy because we don't dodge them and we use their teamwork against them.

You don't want the challenge else why would you want the filter?

You'd split off a huge part of the playerbase just to please a vocal minority and the ones hurt would be the majority of the player base that plays for fun. You know the majority of the player base that's swf that keeps this game going.

So go ahead and destroy the game just to please yourself, when people stop playing the game and stop buying it oh sure you'll feel great you stopped the swf menace. But hey you'll have a company in financial ruin that won't survive like F13 and Death Garden.

Then you'll never have to ever worry about facing swf in your lobbies ever again because you won't have a game anymore because you drove all those players away.

I'd have no issue playing SWF if you vocal minority got forever stuck in a solo only lobby and could never ever come back. My lobbies would be insanely fast as would the others that've stated we don't have an issue with it because we don't cower in fear of swf.

It might actually not be as bad as feared, at least for the killers that stayed since we could get steamrolled and in those magical 3 minute matches that you all seem to magically believe happen every match. But even if it did happen we'd be rolling in bp non stop while you lot would be fighting over the small amount of people that'd play solo only.

If I ever win the lottery big time I'd pay BHVR good money just to have them set up a solo only lobby system and then give you lot the choice. You'd get your solo lobby only system but you'd have to agree to be stuck there forever and could never queue up as a killer for anything but solo lobbies.

Oh your lobby wait times are too long oh well you got what you asked for and now that you got it don't like it and want to queue up for swf. Well too bad you don't get to versus them anymore nor dodge them just to lobby shop. You're stuck in solo lobbies only forever unless you buy another copy of the game, because you got what you asked for.

But every time I've suggested something like this I've gotten the usual hem and hawing like well we shouldn't have to be forced into that. Well that's what you wanted isn't it, you want a solo only lobby, but yes that's what we want but we want to be able to versus swf when lobby times are too long.

Filtering SWFs will destroy the game
    or
There's enough killers that won't dodge so the game will be ok.

    Pick one.
You aren't going to have your cake and eat it, too.

    While we're at it:

    SWFS are easy
    or
    SWFs are a challenge

    pick one.

It seems like every time, you're just contradicting yourself in blindly defending SWFs, pretending they're perfect, and can do no wrong.
You keep normalizing your experiences to everyone else's and refuse to put yourself in anyone else's shoes. That really kinda takes the winds out of your sails on these tirades.

  • I heard rumors that the DLC is dropping on the 11th.

Psn store updates on Tuesdays and the upcoming one is on the 11th.

Seems reasonable to guess the 11th.
  • No, no, Hag needs an emote like this as she chases people around:
    https://youtu.be/Kq5WPkLCAiY
  • Min, and Nea are my mains.
Kate gets play because RNGeesus was kind to her with perks.
I like Min coz she's a lone wolf and I only solo. Her objective aimed perks are nice.
Nea, I just like. Saw her with the pixie cut in a vid. She has Urban Evasion, too. RNGeesus hasn't been kind to her yet.

Huntress was my first killer I used and is a staple in my gameplay. She has all the perks to get honus BP besides bbq (which I lack entirely) and her hatchets help enough even though I have garbage aim, and survivors can dodge it easy, and stuff likes to get in the way.

Spirit is also great fun. Not sure why I work well with her, but I do. Her lunge is delicious though.

    1 hooked
I was chasing around a Min as the Spirit.
Hatch opens, and she's running for it with me hot on her heels.
    She makes the hop.
I grab her mid hop, and carry her to the hook.

  • Idc about efficient playing if the skin looks like #########
I hope for you that the mods don't see this poor choice of words.

I'm going to hell for laughing about it.
Wasn't meant to be how u think lol, was referring to nea and claudette, both are ugly af. Really never understood the hype of Nea tbh. And claudette, well it's easy mode to play her so it's obviously "hyped"

I prefere to play pizza dwight or golden ace etc, just in general nice looking skins. Idc if I'm easier to spot, tbh that's even better so I'm not dealing with M1 simulator at gens
Try looking at Nea in her pixie cut instead of her usual half shaved look?
  • Running Lithe, Lightweight, Dance With Me, and Spine chill on my Min for now.

Kinda surprised how often I ditch a killer.
Also kinda surprised how often a jungle gym doesn't have a window. Pallets are usually busted.
  • Because Min in a scifi top, and paradise shorts.

And Nea in flannel and those super short shorts.
Strange to see so many people playing Claudette cause meta.

They put Meg in a mini skirt and even that won't help.
Well, they need to see Meg in those tight leather pants, I guess.
Maybe they will consider once they release black catsuits for the survivors.
And ninja masks. At least ones that don't come with pastel hair.

Most survivors can wear pretty heavy camouflage in terms of colors.

Thinking about it, Claudette doesn't seem to own a pair of shorts. I don't think I have seen her legs.

  • Have a 4 on 4 killer vs survivor snowball fight scoring points per hit up to a certain score.

  • I wouldn't call myself a gen rusher but I like Technician and either Deja Vu or Detective's hunch.

Technician might be the difference between a killer not patrolling thoroughly finding you, or not.

While gen locations aren't always hard to figure out, taking guess work out of it with the latter 2 was helpful when I was starting out.

Since I prestiged my Min, Spine Chill has been helpful in getting out of dodge before you're found.

If you have s toolbox (Killer might put a bullseye on you for being obvious) streetwise would be good.

Geez. The idea of a killer that can look like a survivor is straight terrible.

Between the terror radius, and the fact that there always seems to be that one survivor that makes the lobby timer run all the way so people are staring at all 4 survivors makes it nearly impossible to have a worthwhile impostor.
Then there's people on voice comms that can easily say "I'm not there" and blow the cover.

Then there's survivor to survivor aura reading.

Then the killer is eventually going to have to do something to blow their cover.

Then survivors will become more self sufficient and not hang around each other.

It'd be just like the Wraith Cloak but instead of being less visible, you look like a Survivor.

    Well, there are several problems.

Which survivor? If the survivors half way pay attention to their teammates, say a meg is with Nea, Min, and Laurie, it does no good if you turn into Jake.

If you turn into the Meg, and run into the Meg she will obviously know.

And if it ever becomes evident that the killer is the shape shifter, then survivors will just avoid each other as much as they can, and maybe run self care or med kits so they can run, hide, and heal.

Then there's the 4 man SWF.
"Hey, comrade B, nice of you to help me with the gen."
"I'm not helping you there, comrade A." Jig is up.

There is just so many ways to foil a fake.
  • Who.
    Cares.

Let's get Cheech and Chong as DLC characters.

They will have a smoke screen perk that ends the match with the survivors and killer watching TV eating cheetos and thinking deep thoughts.

Like... if there is watermelon,  is there an earth melon, wind melon, and fire melon? The elemelons.

And losing the TV remote in the refrigerator.
  • What does hoodies have to do with pig?

Also the terror radius will kick in.

Pig works because she can turn sharply and has zero radius, just breathing when crouched.

    But yeah, hoodies are cool.

For the killer mains and survivor mains here blinded by the common idea that this is a stupid idea, let me sum this up to simplify this. The OP is saying that he wants this feature added SO they can start buffing killers since solo would become SWF level and killers would ALL get buffs to combat solo/SWF since solo would be equal to SWF. He's got a good idea and then neither side would cry if they actually understood the idea. So stop attacking him saying it's a bad idea he's got the right thoughts. The idea might not be good and a little tacky but it would be reasonable since it'd be way easier to balance killer.

I get the idea. But then again I'm not a main of either side, so it is probably not directed at me.

But do you realize killers are going to be left in a lurch dealing with what's basically constant SWFs until they get balanced, right?
And there is no telling how long that will take, or if they even have a plan to make It balanced for killers to begin with?
So killers are going to be understandably mad while suffering the imbalance.
So while killers are waiting who knows how long until they get buffed, what do you think they will be doing?

as some have mentioned, this information comes FREE for SWF and there is no compensation to killers for that information being given.

and as others have stated, we need to balance solo survivors up to SWF... that way the devs can balance killers against all survivors equally.
Compensation was the ability to dodge SWFs. Doing that easily is going away soon, though.

Recklessly upping the power of solo survivors, especially to SWF levels will lead to a killer shortage.
    Especially with zero compensation.
    Mark my words.
    Second objective is the compensation
Ok, no balancing solos to SWFs at all until we get a secondary objective to balance it. At best both happen at the same time.

See, I don't see the secondary coming any time soon.

Speaking of, what is the secondary objective anyhow?

  • Candygram?
    Landshark?
  • So you want genrushing even harder? Cause thats how you get mor genrushing
Not really, u will just get genrushed as fast as  against optimal swf groups. From there, devs can actually start to add second objectives for survivors globaly to slow down the game for killers
You really aren't considering what this will do to the community to have even randoms gen rushing them as hard, huh?

    TMI= Too Much Information
I'm considering, because devs can finally add a second objective for survivors to do before to work on gens. This will slow down the game finally against swf (trust me, I hate getting genrushed like you do) without making it to hard for solos. Do you understand what I mean? I think if u reflect this a little bit u will agree on that, unless u don't care about a second objective for survivors or u just don't care about solos and just want survivors to get nerfed till swfs aren't op anymore
No, not as optimal, waiting for someone to get hit, but it's almost natural instinct at this point for me.
It isn't exactly a terrible alternative either.

Devs can add a second objective now, but don't.
They promised DS and Freddy reworks for who knows how long.
I can't say I'm enthused at the idea of waiting for killer balance while fighting SWF level survivors every trial with that sort of track record, the new changes coming that will already test my patience, and a killer that's half baked.

Pretty sure I am not alone in this either.
Recklessly making the game harder for killers will lead to a lack of killers.
People will either flock to survivor side, or quit.
That means longer queues for survivors.
  • Master said:

Why not, but what would be the compensation on the killers side?

They didn't mention anything about that for a reason.
By "they" I assume you're including me, because obviously wanting something to make solo survivor less of a headache meand I want killers nerfed to the ground.

I've said before it wouldn't be unacceptable to ask 4 man SWF squads to lose a perk slot.

They get kindred, alert, bond, empathy etc etc all for free. Sure it's not quite as good as seeing an aura but they get enough information to cover all of those perks plus they have the benefit of co-ordination.

It wouldn't be extreme to say when people join up as a 4 man they have 1 perk slot disabled.

If the devs are too afraid to do that then they could at least compensate killers by giving them increased BP. Everyone knwows SWF is much harder due to the co-ordination, therefore maybe 1.5x BP for a 3 man and 2xBP for a 4 man. At the very least.

Suddenly losing isn't as bad if you're raking in BP for it. It also rewards killers for taking on SWF, rather than their new matchmaking system which forces them into it against their will.

The whole point here is to make solo survivor more enjoyable, and stop SWF from being overpowered.

Plus the more enjoyable solo is = more solo players = less killers crying about swf all the time.
Nah, just means that "they," the people behind this idea, and people that like it to a lesser degree, gave no thought to killers, and most probably don't care. Some may resent killers so thoroughly the idea of compensation is a joke.
Some, not necessarily you, may not even play killer.
    Kindly don't take it personal.

Let's not pretend this isn't a huge weight in the scales of balance for the survivor side, and no mention of anything to counter balance for killers which is going to be pretty damn important.

I'm in the camp that we can't just drop a 10 ton weight on one side of the scales and hope for the best. We need to consider the other side.

Even if we don't get this idea through, there is always hook gymnastics.
Spam, but don't complete the attempt to free yourself to signal being camped.
I figured it would be a pretty universal signal by now. Even the official wiki mentions this.

The problem with buffing solos to SWF level is that they will be SWF level, and the SWF blood point multiplier won't apply to them. Randoms will be SWF strong with zero compensation.

It becomes a whole new can of worms when you are trying to buff solos to SWF. Extra blood points to vs SWF won't help as much.
It becomes an issue of every match becoming harder and harder for the killer.
That said, whe. Talking about counter balancing against solo buffs to SWF level we need general killer buffs.
Here's the thing - Kindred isn't even that good.

I've taken it and sometimes it's useful, sometimes it makes no difference.

But it's not like we're advocating for Bond or anything that would give a whole game advantage. We're just looking at ways to maybe make the game a little more enjoyable for solo survivors who often get camped out. Kindred for free isn't strong.
Sure it is. Aura of the killer within a certain distance isn't strong? It's like BBQ but in reverse minus the blood point bonus.
    Survivors hate BBQ.

I enjoy solo survivor immensely. Far more than playing killer infact. I still play killer, too.
