Wait for someone to get hit, and don't draw attention to yourself.
Once someone gets hit, get far away from them and do gens.

Nah, just means that "they," the people behind this idea, and people that like it to a lesser degree, gave no thought to killers, and most probably don't care. Some may resent killers so thoroughly the idea of compensation is a joke.The_Crusader said:
By "they" I assume you're including me, because obviously wanting something to make solo survivor less of a headache meand I want killers nerfed to the ground.Rebel_Raven said:
They didn't mention anything about that for a reason.Master said:Why not, but what would be the compensation on the killers side?
I've said before it wouldn't be unacceptable to ask 4 man SWF squads to lose a perk slot.
They get kindred, alert, bond, empathy etc etc all for free. Sure it's not quite as good as seeing an aura but they get enough information to cover all of those perks plus they have the benefit of co-ordination.
It wouldn't be extreme to say when people join up as a 4 man they have 1 perk slot disabled.
If the devs are too afraid to do that then they could at least compensate killers by giving them increased BP. Everyone knwows SWF is much harder due to the co-ordination, therefore maybe 1.5x BP for a 3 man and 2xBP for a 4 man. At the very least.
Suddenly losing isn't as bad if you're raking in BP for it. It also rewards killers for taking on SWF, rather than their new matchmaking system which forces them into it against their will.
The whole point here is to make solo survivor more enjoyable, and stop SWF from being overpowered.
Plus the more enjoyable solo is = more solo players = less killers crying about swf all the time.
Some, not necessarily you, may not even play killer.
Kindly don't take it personal.
Let's not pretend this isn't a huge weight in the scales of balance for the survivor side, and no mention of anything to counter balance for killers which is going to be pretty damn important.
I'm in the camp that we can't just drop a 10 ton weight on one side of the scales and hope for the best. We need to consider the other side.
Even if we don't get this idea through, there is always hook gymnastics.
Spam, but don't complete the attempt to free yourself to signal being camped.
I figured it would be a pretty universal signal by now. Even the official wiki mentions this.
The problem with buffing solos to SWF level is that they will be SWF level, and the SWF blood point multiplier won't apply to them. Randoms will be SWF strong with zero compensation.
It becomes a whole new can of worms when you are trying to buff solos to SWF. Extra blood points to vs SWF won't help as much.
It becomes an issue of every match becoming harder and harder for the killer.
That said, whe. Talking about counter balancing against solo buffs to SWF level we need general killer buffs. -
You can be aggressive, and assertive and not want to kill someone.
He would probably have plenty of hope in relying on how tough he is.
I will agree that his inability to stun, tackle, or punch, or even headbutt is a bit odd, especially as he plays rough sports, but it would complicate the heck out of the game, and a bare handed hit might ot do anything to an entity enhanced killer. He might have found that out the hard way.
Kinda like the scene in Jason takes Manhattan when the boxer tried to beat up Jason.
Killers are also supernaturally strong, so a physical fight would probably be about as suicidal. -

I watched someone play as a survivor and they thought Legion was a survivor.
Might get in frenzy range at best. -
Oh come on. The survivors can see the rest of the survivors before the match, and there's almost always one person that will not ready up making the lobby go as long as possible.
Unless the fog is thick, or something, mixing up Legion, or the Pig for another survivor will probably only work at a distance. -
Aka Burger King Myers?

I'd like it to be extended to not just work when the gens are done, but if the obsession is the last one alive.

In theory it sounds great, but in practice it seems like it would be hell to do.I think the killershould get a bloodpoints multiplier every time he hooks a different survivor, with the multiplier disappearing if the killer stays within 10 meters of the hook for 10 seconds, as well as if they hook the same survivor twice.
Like a built in, aura free BBQ and chili meant to simply incentivize the killer to loosen up a little and focus on the bloodpoints instead of those trashy tryhards.
There's almost always that 1 person that wants to distract you from the rest, and wants you to chase them, and insists on being the biggest pain.
Then there's people that play to as far away from the killer that you may not see for most of the trial.

The tally idea is an excellent idea.JanTheMan said:I think they should add a tally mark next to the player's name if they have been hooked. So the killer doesn't have to memorize if the player has been hooked, or what hook stage they were on.
As for your idea, I think killers would just abuse it and still tunnel (having an easier target.) The survivors effected by "FoD" wouldn't want to do gens anyways because of how much extra time it would take them. -

At the very least there are people that know full well SWF is harder and still insist you vs them as if they were balanced.
It's not that you blamed anyone for anything it's how you answered the question in the tile, hence my response.
Yes, but there's also those who don't and for some that do they point out as i did some of the excuses used as well as the results of versing them. .
That last part turns around and helps solve some of the complaints about other things killer preferential players have. Since if you can learn how easy it is to generally counter swf and use their strengths against them you'll favor them more.
We point it out for lots of reasons.
Me? I want a sporting chance. A fair shake.
And I would like to think we both know SWF is not keen to offer that. They already use means beyond the game to get an advantage for the most part.
I mean what fun is it to SWF without talking to each other?
Already that gives them access to a half dozen free perks. Doesn't mean they abuse it and get sweaty, but I doubt they will avoid the power if things get tough.
And, basically the harder they make the game for me, the easier it gets for them. It's not even remotely fair. I'm not getting a sporting chance.
Gunna be honest, you saying you never dodge does nothing for me. I don't believe you're lying, though.
You have a better arsenal, and more time invested than I do. I dare say you're better than I am.
You played in different eras of the game, no doubt. Heck, for all I know you played before SWF was even introduced and gained a lot of power then.
It's easier for you to just fight am swf, and you have more time to train to do it.
I have time to play, not time to practice in a best case scenario.
Your normal experiences are not mine.
It's not easy. We both know SWF is stronger than the average team.
You know everyone would dodge SWFs if they could. That they're a greater challenge.
And you keep saying it's easy, but you never really go into making it easier to fight swfs. Yeah, you give tips in other threads, but it's no good for the people who haven't read those and are just reading this.
Saying it is one thing. Having us believe it? Something else entirely. Especially after being burned by numerous SWFs.
Then there's tactics you don't really touch like 3 gens popping in a chase, then 2 more across the map, or some such. -

Or they know they're imbalanced an insist you vs them anyhow.
How dare we dodge, eh?
How dare we complain about them?Survivors just want to have fun. At the killers expense.
Yes because everytime that Ruin totem is destroyed it's a sWF squad doing it, I mean it's not like experienced solo players don't know how to do that.
It's also not as if experienced solo survivors don't know how to work on gens by themselves or do unhooks by themselves and rush to heal the person since 2 healing is better than 1 in case killer comes back.
Yes play the blame game since that works so well, it's not like most lobbies don't contain a duo at least 64.1% of the time or anything like that. I mean logic and common sense would say that after it being a core function of the game for over 2 years you'd stop complaining about it and adapt.
The old dodge excuse, oh it looks like swf so let me dodge, r solo's join at once still looks like swf so gotta dodge.
I don't like their outfits, dodge, they brought 1 flashlight dodge, they have 2 medkits dodge, check their profile and find out they're experienced dodge. It's all under the banner of it's swf so I can safely dodge I mean lobby shop for easier matches.
For the record I've never dodged a single match except for when someone has 700+ ping since that's not fair to the other 3 survivors in the match. I've taken on all matches otherwise and faced some really good swf groups even the dreaded swat teams.
Yet I've never once come onto the forums and complained about them, I didn't say I wanted easier matches, I didn't ask for a lobby dodging option. I chose to play the game because those were the lobbies that were given to me.
Some of the games i got destroyed while others i did the destroying, but the one thing all those matches had in common was that I learned how to play better. When I make mistakes I learn from them and improve which makes me a better player when I'm versing solo.
I'd love for them to make a solo only system but then if you choose solo lobbies option YOU'RE LOCKED INTO IT FOREVER. So if you want those easier matches then you get stuck in that queue and if your lobby times suck oh well, you got what you asked for.
Since if they're going to waste time and resources into something like that it makes no sense for them to simply let you dodge what you asked for.
There are people that believe SWF is balanced and insist you battle them.
At the very least there are people that know full well SWF is harder and still insist you vs them as if they were balanced.

Hey, speaking of where we got our info, where did you get yours? I doubt it's any more reputable.
Gee notice where I said I've been in matches and also how many rank 20ish forum posts there are complaining about it.
Between you, and me, where it's important here, your opinion doesn't weigh more than mine and is about as important as mine is to you.
I never said it was but nice of you to point out the obvious.
The top of the mountain doesn't matter much when higher ranks can cheese the system and go against lower ranks, and call it teaching matches, or some such.
That applies to both sides and the only way newer people will play this game if their friends want them to is to you know play with their friends. I mean unless you want people to buy an additional copy and never play it unless it's with someone brand new to the game. You'll obviously be willing to pay for each and every copy of the game for those people right?
Or people playing on multiple accounts, one lower rank.
Now if this isn't contradictory I don't know what is, you don't want high ranked players playing with their low ranked newbie friends. Now you're complaining about them playing low ranked accounts with said low ranked newbies. So their damned if they do and damned if they don't.
Or derankimg themselves
That seems to be a killer sided thing more than survivor sided thing judging by the comments on the forum.
Or when things go haywire and 2 sides battle that have no business meeting.
Ok not sure exactly what this relates to here.
SWFs are coordinated unless maybe someone just invites some random people and they have absolutely no data on one another the entire trial beyond what the game tells them.
Coordinated teams are tougher than uncoordinated ones. Right?
Because the game is generally easier for coordinated teams?
When you, and others are saying that filtering SWFs will basically destroy the game, it says a lot to me.
So, yeah, must happen enough.
I mean if SWFs weren't putting killers through the wringer on the regular I doubt it would be an issue.
Hey, I've got experience in the game, too. Just because it's contrary to yours doesn't mean it hasn't happened. Hence the talk about opinions.
Glad we're on the same page about each other's opinions, now, too.
Not sure how killers can join up with other killers with the Express desire to kill low rank killers.
Yeah, they derank, but it's harder to do that than it is to join mismatched rank survivors, and go to town when the lowest rank determines the killer rank. Or protect lower ranks to teach them, or boost them.
Killers are going to have a hell of a time organizing public teaching matches. It's not like KYF is in normal gameplay like SWF.
I'm not saying that SWF shouldn't exist. Not saying people shouldn't SWF how they want, either.
Hey, play how you want.
Just know people are going to react to high rank players in what ever form deciding to kick around low rank people.
That's it.
Definitely not trying to tell people how to play the game, unlike people basically demanding I just vs SWFs, which, apparently will include the dev team. Heck, it does. I've see one Express that sentiment.
It's going to basically become rule of law with the new matchmaking system.
I can't remember when I said people should stop doing something. Might have suggested people slow down some, killers and survivors alike, though.
I'll grant you depipping is more talked about, and probably done more by killers. Then again survivors can more easily go kicking around low ranks.
Not sure what things going haywire and 2 sides meeting that shouldn't has anything to do with here??
Uhm. An swf of red ranks meeting a newbie? I know it wasn't intentional, but results are results.
Several other people reporting meeting killers a massive amount of ranks away including myself?

Or play survivor more. If we solo then that's one less 4 man killers face. Haha
The lingering problem of SWFs learning the loadout of a killer when one dies has been a problem for ages.
The upcoming changes to match making will make it more difficult to detect them. Especially for console players.
I don't see them labeling swfs, letting us filter them out (coz no killer will vs an SWF! Gee, I wonder why?), or incentivize going against them.
This will lead to high ranks blending into low ranks, and teams who should be ranked higher than what they are mauling killers, and killers that don't like it will quit, or go survivor. -

New algorithms haven't kicked in yet.
The new algorithms will make every survivor group look like an SWF.
I don't see it stopping until the new algorithms kick in.
Too many SWFs want to kick a killers teeth in, and not give them a fighting chance, and worse, bully them to risk playing another SWF so readily.
But there's probably still some people who will vs your team.
Also gaming late at night might be part of the issue. -
Not saying you're saying anything, I'm just calling it as I see it.KingB said:@Rebel_Raven I'm not saying it's on the killer or it makes them bad for doing so. I'm just saying it's not fun to be camped. If someone is toxic they deserve to be camped. I agree, sometimes camping is the only way to get a kill (I've even made threads complaining about the BBQ nerf and BT buff). Gen rush is bad but it's going to happen regardless if you camp unless the survivors are bad or there is a DC. As a killer I would be fine with this because they die and I don't have to play "watch the bar simulator" as long.
If the gens are done, or so close to it that intercepting doesn't seem possible, they're going to camp.
I didn't even get into camping a toxic player who would probably love having this perk to screw the killer harder knowing the killer is getting horrible blood points.
Again, there's not really anything in it for the killer.
Infact it just leads to hook swarming faster.
The survivors only have 2 objectives at that point.
Escape or rescue.
Well, the side quest of trolling is there.
Fighting survivors over that hook, especially an swf is ######### miserable.
I don't want to get there sooner.
Maybe if the killer wants to do end game stuff, but that is a heck of a guess if the survivors have this perk. -
I think we have a misunderstanding about camping to secure a kill.KingB said:@Rebel_Raven Making it a perk shakes up meta for starters. Most forums on here I see killers (I play both btw, but I'm a lot better at killer) say that camping can be punished by Gen rushing. With this perk, camping can be punished effectively while still retaining it's usefulness in securing a kill. This only promotes Gen rush IF the killer camps. Did you read it all the way? Only when the killer is within 16m. Even now looking back on it I wanna add the change "if another survivor is within 16m the perk does not activate" also this doesn't impact end game in the slightest.
Camping someone to death while the gens are nearly done or done is really sub optimal play in my book. I don't think anyone wants to do it.
This forces the killer into a desperate situation, not a good one.
There is nothing in it but maybe a 1k for the killer unless people go crazy altruistic. I don't feel like anyone running that perk is looking out for their fellow survivors.
Frankly I hate the whole gens are done and someone is hooked fight, but if I got gen rushed to the point they were my only hook, I don't have much choice if I want to get anything out of the trial.
And survivors can already gen rush to the point that they've almost won by the time the first hook is done.
I still see no reason to enjoy this perk as a killer.
Maybe speed the game up immensely while someone gets killed as a survivor, but that still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
-
Heyall no.
First off, answer this. What the hell is in this for the killer again to make them happy?
Survivors don't need a perk to do what they can already do better like this.
Gen rush, which this promotes, CAUSES CAMPING. You think this is going to make a killer leave the hook knowing the gens are going to be done by the time they step away?
If a killer knows the unhooked is going to have a clear shot to the gates, there's little incentive to leave the hook.
-
It makes perfect sense.Vietfox said:@will_i_am_14_85
Same goes for survivors.
Some of them just want to play with friends instead of being a sweaty squad.
Some of them bring toolboxes because the daily tells them to sabotage hooks.
And so on...
Besides, camping someone just because survivors from the last match were ######### doesn't make any sense, every person is different and they shouldn't take the blame.
You can only jam so much negative energy into someone before it sparks, and arcs onto the nearest person.
considering you may never see the survivor that ticked you off again, it's going to be someone else.

Now killers do the same and survivors scream for temp bans and time outs.
Ironic
That totally justifies most killers doing it for over 2 years because solo survivors just happened to load in at the same time as other solo survivors or they had a cosmetic or item the killer didn't like.
But some people can't understand that the killer is also a human being who wants to enjoy the game.
So by the same premise i guess you never camp without reason, because it's not fun for survivors either.
Know what it's gotten me in this game? Nothing.
I still get trolled, and coordinated upon, gate camped and so forth, still.
Can't say things are any better for me than any other killer, and being nice generally impacts my bottom line in blood points, so it's probably worse.
You don't get rewards for being nice in this game. At least not as a killer.
Survivors don't care. I doubt they even remember most killers unless they're streamers, or something.
As a survivor you might make pals to SWF with, or something.
I seriously doubt anyone will spot my name and say "oh, that's that cool huntress player that didn't take advantage of us when a guy DCed early, and let us go."
I mean I had a Min dead to rights, and walked towards the hook at end game, then stopped, and dropped her at the gate so she could get rescued.
Being a nice killer is entirely optional. It doesn't mean anything in the long run. If you're an unfun killer, it probably doesn't matter.

Bought it as soon as I got word it was up.

Not sure I even have 5.
1: SWF abuse. There's a reason people are scared that if SWFs were labeled, they would get dodged into extinction. Even if they won't admit it themselves.
2: how safe it is in, or near the gate room, or hatch. Survivors should never be that safe for that long. They need to feel like they're running for their lives, not healing each other, and teabagging, and BM.
I understand going back in to make sure comrades make it out, but that is often not the case. They demand to be chased out.
I'm done swallowing my pride to chase them out if they beat me there by a long shot.
3: I guess the grind, yeah. I'm starting to see how bad it is. I see how expensive it is to get through a lvl 50 blood web, and how expensive it is to prestige and get back to 50, unlock perks to make builds, etc.
That's it for now.
