  • A reasonable minimum score should be necessary. They can do gens, break totems, get chased a lot, something.

The idea of the game is to reward interaction with the killer, apparently.
Not hide until you can escape.

Legion is an absolute horrible time to play against. He is basically a tunnel machine the way everyone is playing him. I definitely don't think this is what the developers had in mind lol

Yeah, if there are no other viable targets near by, Legion is probably going to tunnel.
  • The timer needs to start when the gates are powered and run similar to the reverse bear trap. It gives time for altruism, but also urges survivors to ######### leave.

Frankly any survivors not staying for altruism need to be automatically sacrificed when the timer expires.
Or at least exposed, and vulnerable to mori no matter what.
  • Or better yet, tackle the hell out of a survivor.  Like straight up goldberg/edge spear them.

Let the killers perform a "poledance" at a hooked survivor!
Hey its not face camping! It's a "lapdance" ;)

Insert clown laugh as he spins down the pole erotically right in the face of a hooked survivor.

But what good would it do the Huntress then? Lets not forget that it is her perk.

    Maybe this?

When the survivors are in the TR, they cant hear skillchecks.

When the survivors arent in the TR, they can hear skillchecks, but they get "fake" skillchecks sound, too.

Would this be nice on Huntress?

I can't imagine why it would be. Huntress isn't particularly known for using her terror radius as a tool.

In fact most people would probably run when they hear it since she can launch a long range attack.

I can't think ofnone good reason anyone would stay in it unless she were distracted.

    Have you an idear?

Hide totems better, and maybe make them slightly harder to break?
Maybe add skill checks that only regress if failed? Let Huntress Lullaby synergize with this change to make it even more of an obstacle?
Make small game far more important in finding the new hard to find totems?

I would hate dealing with a 5 token huntress lullaby I couldn't turn off personally, and I'm sure a ton of newbs would, too. It would either be game ending, or create a kot of gamers who are unusually good at hitting checks.

But yeah, huntress needs a way to slow the game down, and she doesn't have one anywhere near as strong as doctor's, so linking it to terror radius would hurt Huntress.

Maybe something like "Safe the best for last".?
    With tokens?

Well it already gets tokens. Every hook adds one.

I'm not sure how much you want to carry over to it being like STBFL, though.
A normal perk? Like I said I'm sorta against it. I play both sides. I'd love it if it didn't suck when I played killer, and at the same time, as a survivor, I feel like it's pretty game ending for most, not all, if there was no way to turn it off.

Definitely not if it were obsession based towards getting tokens.

I've seen the hex totem at it's worst and best.

  • lmfao

So... you think that not including another killer (one who's widely considered to be one of the most formidable, comparing her to Nurse & Billy) would actually skew the data AWAY from Killers having a 60% win rate?

Please tell me you're trolling or that you just didn't think that through?

Also, the question was asked so as not to include DCs.. I don't call that fuzzy.

Next, unless you literally feel there's just an epidemic of suicides on hooks (which even 2-figure hours into the game, you would see isn't really a widespread issue), that doesn't factor in to any substantial degree.

Also, having spent a season in rank 1 - I don't feel the nurses are any better there than rank 10. Once you can hit a blink, you can hit a blink. A blink is a blink is a blink. lol

I'm sort of thinking you're just arguing for the sake of trying to argue just to avoid acknowledging that released metrics show the killers don't have it as rough as they claim to.

I'm thinking you're arguing just to argue as well.
A lot can change in this game in 8 months. Especially in terms of balance.

I cannot believe you're putting in so much stock in outdated, incomplete, and skewed data that you want to take it as gospel, and expect others to.
I thought you loved data? Surely you'd want it to be more recent with all the changes that happened.

Individual killers can get their rates adjusted over the span of 8 months. Players get smarter, learn how to counter. If there are more long term players than newbies now than layer then more people playing would know how to counter which can drop a killers kill rate.
I.e. people becoming more used to hag, or trapper traps and thus hurting the odds of being caught.

The question was asked, but did the data get updated as to notninclude DCs? They asked that very question in the thread. No definitive answer was given.

Uhm, yes, lets consider suicides? Suicides on hook happened a lot in the halloween event, and I imagine most events where a survivor did not have to stay the entire match length.
Then there are thosed faced with bad connections, trolling, rage quits, etc.
Account for those. Lies, damned lies, and statistics.

Your opinion on nurse doesn't mean much to the data. Opinions need to be excluded to prevent bias.

And lastly you overlooked the huge fault in the data. It's arguably less than 1/4 the players in the game as survivors and killers are known to depip on purpose to have more fun in lower ranks.
Why else would there be so many anecdotes of people doing this, and people complaining about higher wait times at high ranks?

And you're asking me to take this as representing the entire game? Lol

Regardless, you can't defend the data from me. My stance remains. Get fresher, more complete data, and you have my attention.

  • I don't have much rhyme or reason, though that should change. Not super great at tracking specific people.

If I find someone is a pain in the ass to chase, though, they drop in priority. I try to find others.

  • To be fair Legion's gen perk is kinda useless, too. Had survivors go 2 on a gen to bait me, then they split just as I arrived, then the other 2 started working on a gen across the map.
In other words survivors that are coordinated can abuse the perk.

Yet... the data released recently shows the killers have a ~60% kill rate.... Ummm. how much more of a chance are you asking for here?

That data is borked. Disconnects, suicides, and event related deaths throw it off. We don't have untainted data that I know of, and disconnects, suicides, and death farming don't really count as killers generally like them less.

Here's some data excluding a lot of what you probably don't want included:
    https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/8901x5/monday_dev_qa_thread_april_02_2018/dwqw9pa/

I'll try to find information around the other graphic I've seen

OH, NOTE: And that's only Rank 1 through 5.... where the top-tier meta-build toxic survivors like to flourish... not including lower ranks where killers have an intrinsic advantage against survivors who haven't learned how to troll.

Well, that data is 8 months old. It doesn't even have Spirit. Legion, I'd forgive, but Spirit? Nope.

Moreover it still seems fuzzy about if disconnects were factored in or not.

Also suicides are an issue, still. If a killer kills 3 people before 2 gens are done, and the 4th gives up, is that really a kill? If there's an unexpectedly bad connection, and the survivor gives up, or botches is that a kill?

It's also where omega blink nurses thrive, too, I'm sure. The game is different in upper ranks.

And like you said, it entirely discounts 3/4 of the ranks where odds are most people play for assorted reasons.

That data is basically useless. Outdated. Tainted. Incomplete.

The whole idea of the shrine release back then in 2016 was to give players the ability to get DLC perks without owning the DLC itself.
Now, can we hold on a second and think when BBQ&C was in the shrine last time? September 2017. How often? A single time.
My idea: The shrine needs to offer 8 perks in total, 4 for survivors and 4 for killer. Every update gives us more perks, it's time to tweak the shrine around this. It can't be stay like this at current state.
Also, adding some kind of parameters to balance the appearance of perks would be good, licence DLC perks should appear much often than OG character perks

Just remove the perks from free characters from the shrine would be enough, or atleast or make just 1 perks from free characters appears in the Shrine

I'd hate to have to level up wraith. I'd rather get bloodhound from the shrine.
  • And make legion a watered down pig, or wraith? I mean both have high speed movement and zero terror radius until it activates. Spirit is arguably similar.

Maybe zero terror radius outside of frenzy mode, but an addon for that? Oof.
Especially one that is hard to get?

  • Your Lord and Saviour

The person hugging should be Cluadette or another survivor
Claudette is hugging him. You just can't see her coz she's immersed.
  • More chances doesn't really mean we will get bbq any sooner.
  • There is lots of good advice.
Especially this staple. Get some headphones. As long as they're stereo.
I'm running cheap ones plugged into my ps4 controller and it helps immensely. Expensive ones are sometimes just cheap ones with a brand.

You will want to hear survivors making noise near you. It's great for all killers, but because you're 2/3 blind in phase walk (can't see survivors, or blood, just scratch marks) , sound will help.
They stop, make noise as they try to go to the side, you hear, and chase.

Also make sure the left  and right of the headphones are easily discernible. Not much worse than hearing a generator to your left on the right side, and ending up having to swap ear buds.

  • I have a taste for letting people live... so long as I'm getting stuff done. Especially thanks to the Halloween event. "Happy Halloween! gtfo and enjoy those blood points." The warm fuzzies are nice.
Of course they never do just leave.
I suspect winter event will be much the same if I don't have to sacrifice. I'll get what I need, and let people go so they get what they need.

The only time I'm bothered by people escaping is if I don't feel like I got a fair amount of blood points/event goal, and that means I did not get to do much.

If they managed to basically run circles around me, and take advantage of crap I actually want them to just leave. Of course they never do.

I like multiple chases, multiple hooks, long matches.
A good action packed 15 minutes or more?

If a survivor is talented, especially above the rest, I don't mind them getting the hatch.

I don't mind going with the flow overall, though. I'm not 4k crazy, but if I run into someone enough, then I just do, and  try to get them hooked... unless they're pro distractions, then I want to avoid them. They're good at running people around, and they want you to take the bait.
  • No, I prefer a killer be useful naked in low ranks. So far Legion is the only killer that has felt so underwhelming naked, or even going adept that addons felt almost needed to shore up glaring weaknesses that survivors gleefully took advantage of.
  • Normally a cheetah needs to sneak, and stalk to get close enough to run prey down, and strike, and to do this, they need stealth. They run hella fast, but cannot keep it up long.
Legion is a cheetah wearing sleigh bells.
Unlike Spirit, Wraith, or Pig who can hide their terror radius naturally.

Legion are supposed to ambush, but they announce their presence, and any survivors worth their salt know to keep distance, and use exhaustion perks to try and screw over legions stamina, or make the chase way too damn long.
Any group with a brain knows to spread out against Legion to minimize the impact of the power.

Legion is awkward to pressure the map with, especially large ones. Frenzy to get to the targets? Now you're out of frenzy, and have to m1, or wait for the charge. Can't do both because m1s screw your frenzy over.
Walking there? Good luck getting there on time

They know legions perks. They use them to bait, and #########. 2 start working on a gen across the map, then bail before you get there, then 2 work on a gen on the other side of the map.
Legion doesn't even work well with their own perks.
Iron maiden has zero synergy with frenzy at all.

Legion had too many flaws and they're easy to take advantage of.
  • A lil' something extra to grab?
  • Because it can be really powerful against a lot of people.

It would be hell doing generators if no one could stop it. Especially at 5 tokens.

It does need to be harder to find, though, as do all totems.

No notifications might be fair. They will get the picture eventually.

All in all totems are made to slow the game down.
A hard to find one, like Lullaby, or Ruin can easily change the pace of the game.
An easy to find one is a bad joke.
  • I want one that plays elevator music while the survivors hang in there.

Ever play the first Mass Effect? The elevator scenes? Thay just keeps running through my head.
  • I started going to the basement at the point of their, basically, absolute safety, and hop on the forums to see if any fun topics are up while waiting for them to leave.

Playing Legion, especially after rank reset, especially one I hadn't power leveled,  especially one I want afept for, this means a lot of people escape. Haven't even touched wraith so I gotta get him leveled for bloodhound.

Had one survivor come all the way over to the basement, and wave at me and run a few times.
I don't know why. They had all the time in the world to leave.

I mean seriously. Gates are open, you won, fun is over. It just is. Anything beyond that is basically trolling  and rubbing salt in the wound.

I don't want a pity kill, i don't want to chase you out, i just want you to collect your points, and get out.

The only thing that gets people to leave when they can is running NOED, or Rancor. Basically if they're exposed their odds of bouncing quicker go up.

The most annoying thing is that it doesn't matter how the match goes. Anything short of a 4k gets me that same scenario. They won't leave until I chase them out.

Halloween event I decided everyone escapes unless they DC, or I forget who is hook how much, and accidentally sacrifice them, or some such.
I was basically being nice, and letting them go. Tried my damndest to even make it obvious, and they still did this #########.
Even held things up to try and get the hatch.

Trust me, the points aren't worth the time spent waiting. We could be in the next match making far more.
Depriving everyone of that is no way to say thanks.
  • I want to love Nurse, but I can't seem to get the hang of her, personally. I usually seem to slightly overshoot the survivor, and can't turn, and hit by the time they run off.

There's a small band of people on this forum that claim they do well at high ranks with non meta characters.
Try out whomever you're comfortable with before deciding that thet won't be viable in high ranks. They might work for you at any rank.
  • @Rebel_Raven said:
Goddamn, Legion is weak as hell, and addon reliant as you get, but I still want to play as legion. What a love hate relationship.

I don't think Legion is ridiculously weak; people just need to figure out how to play him. I don't it's reasonable for people to think a killer ought to be able to consistently 4-man without any perks or add-ons, which is what I've heard a majority of people say.

I feel like compared to say, Huntress, Hag, Wraith, Spirit, or Doctor, to say the least, that Legion demands addons far more, far sooner.

I'm not 4k crazed. As long as there is a fighting chance for them, sure, but Legion doesn't seem to come close to offering that.

A killer should be useable naked. Playable, and deadly right out of the box. At least in lower ranks when, say, you're just starting out, you don't have 4 perk slots, you don't have perks from other killers to lean on, etc.
They should be able to stand on their own perks (I.E. Iron Maiden needs bonus damage from frenzy since exposed status is useless in that state.) as well.

Legion just has too many weaknesses that survivors who aren't potatos can exploit.
  • Goddamn, Legion is weak as hell, and addon reliant as you get, but I still want to play as legion. What a love hate relationship.

  • Legion is garbage.

I shouldn't need purples and pinks in lower ranks, should I?

Survivors don't stay bunched up for all 4 getting hit.
They know to keep distance so you waste your stamina trying to catch up. They know to separate. They know to save their exhaustion perks to further waste legion's stamina.
m1 attacks only hurt legion, destroying their stamina.

People know legion's powers. Why else would a group of survivors work 2 on a generator on one end of the map, split long before you're there, then work 2 at a time on a gen across the map almost immediately after?

Legion is a ######### to create pressure with.
Mending is way too easy, and Legion doesn't have the speed to create pressure with because walking across the map takes too damn long, and using frenzy doesn't take you far enough, and leaves you gassed when the chase is on.
Then all you can do is m1, which keeps you gassed. If your slow ass can catch them in a timely fashion that is.

Survivors have pallet throwing perfectly timed. You can't lunge through it, and it ######### frenzy over.

    It is dumb.

Sad part is I'm some kinda goddamn idiot masochist and I want to keep playing as Legion. when I could do leagues better as a Huntress, or Spirit.

  • Didn't know there were 2 of these. Signed here, too.

  • Play as Legion a lot. Against SWFs. Against pro runners. Get back to me when you understand both sides of the story.

  • Paint the walls black, and glossy.

    Leather straps, shiny chrome buckles.

    Conspicuous wooden medieval torture devices.

Mirrors on the ceiling, and pink champagne on ice.

Funny shaped campfire wood (google it) of assorted sizes on the walls.

A bed with sanguine velvet sheets.

  • I haven't ran into one, but based on what I know, the guy has a perk on par with decisive strike with Breakdown. He gets rescued, there is one less hook, and a zone where survivors are harder to hook.

They may just want to save him for last to avoid those zones being made.
  • I don't believe Nea would try. She doesn't seem like a killer and there's this whole
"You are trying to kill me and my friends!" Thing.

But minus the murder stuff, yeah they would probably hang out.
She would do art for them, get some cash for it, rock out some. Similar to Jeff before he left.
She might even join them on some level.

The problem with the Legion is that survivors cannot escape from them (theoretically).
They don't need a buff, but a complete rework. They are like a combination of the Pig and Freddy. (Countdown timer + tunnel).
I thought NC worked with snap out of it?

My last few games with Legion blew that theory out of the water.
Legion is very escapeable if the survivors know what they're doing.

I would not say legion needs a complete rework. The idea is sound. Legion seems to be ambush and chase oriented.
The execution of the idea needs serious work.

Legion needs more stamina, and maybe some higher speed overall at least in frenzy mode. Or maybe a reduced terror radius. Probably a reduced terror radius. It's not like people are at all scared of them.

Pig works because she hides her terror radius. This allows getting closer to set up a strike.

It's like the large cats. A cheetah, for instance. They have to get close before initiating their chase because they get gassed quick. That means they sneak close, then strike.
    Pig is good at that.
Legion isn't because they announce themselves in advance.
No no, I wrote Freddy. Some people said that NC worked on survivors that were being woken up, but that's not true.

Did you try the strategy where you follow them backwards, so the chase won't initiate?
Sorry, i meant Wake up, not Snap out of it.
    Got the wires crossed.

I have a rough time catching people who know what they're doing while facing forward.
Moonwalking after them through junglegyms, and over obstacles is a bit much for me right now.

These people know what killer I am, then set about staying at the edge of my terror radius, and burn exhaustion perks to keep me far away.
Legion is like a cheetah wearing sleigh bells.

  • Legion wasn't made to tunnel, but what the hell are you going to do when the survivors are spread out beyond frenzy range?

  • Apparently if you know what you're doing, legion is absolute ######### in a chase.

Considering what was said about Doctor, and the reason NC got nerfed, they want to balance killers so they aren't heavily using a perk.

  • Well, I take back what I said about Legion supposedly being strong in a chase. I got ran the ######### around by a rank 14, 2, 9, and 16. (Gee, I wonder how that massive rank range got into my lobby?)
They outran my frenzy mode. I thought it was great for closing distance? Nope.

Legion has no stamina. Normal hits eats too much from the bar. Pursuit mode is lousy at pursuit. All around garbage.

After having a fairly stellar spirit game, Legion is bad.

I'll need some serious perks to shore up the weaknesses.

  • Stuff like this wouldn't happen if Legion, and Pig were properly strengthened so it wasn't necessary. But nooooo, lets keep them "fun" instead of competitive.
Lets make their powers easy to defeat, and keep it that way.
Surely no one will get annoyed, and try to figure out a way around their limitations.

  • Well, here's a weird one.

I finally managed a weak-ish russian roulette-ish build on my spirit. Lvl 3 haunted grounds, lvl 3 rancor (Keeping this one no matter what. Love a last second down and mori), lvl 1 devour hope (Doesn't let me one hit down no matter what, apparently), level 3 huntress lullaby.

Vs Min, 2 claudettes, and a Nea.

I actually get 5 tokens on my Huntress Lullaby, and 5 tokens on my Devour Hope. ######### amazing.
I defended one totem enough (It ended up being devour hope) that they left it alone (Which blew my mind), and they just had not found my Huntress lullaby until way late game.
I pushed them hard enough, with those 2 perks to have them lose the first trigger pull with haunted grounds somewhere along the way.

So it's late game, and I stumbled across creating a 3 gen strat, and patrol it rigorously as they blast me with failed skill checks.

I down Nea. Mori. Get the achivement blood in my mouth.

Huntress Lullaby goes lulla-Bye, but I'm not too mad.

    Down Min. Mori.

They squeeze out the last gen.

Happy day! The doors are easily patrolled, too!
I go to one, and chase off the Claudette there.
    I defend the other door.
Eventually one gets the door open, and she runs off after the other Claudette.
I chase them away from the other door. They go to heal deeper in the map.
    One gets healed.
The other goes to the door.
The unhealed Claudette is at the controls, and she opens the door. I drop her. Mori.

One Claudette left, and both doors open!... She disconnects.

And I got my Rite of the Spirit done. And maxed out 3 of 4 categories (8k,8k,8k, 7.something k) with bloody party streamers.

More ######### than anything. Maybe some factor played into the weirdness, I don't know. The last one disconnecting instead of just running right by me, and taking a hit, or running to the other gate is what gets me.

  • Pretty sure that staying under the hook, unless the killer is mid chase is a terrible idea. They know you aren't hooked, and where the hook is. They're coming to try and kill 2 survivors.

Also the forums censor swearing so no need to do it yourself.

  • Claudette needs short shorts. Do we ever see her legs?

Meg could probably use a pair, too.

Some pants, PANTS to cover those chick stick legs!

    SOLOMON GRUNDY WANT PANTS, TOO!

  • I want to like Nurse, but I can't see myself playing her. My blinking talent is next to nil. Probably doesn't help being on consoles on top of it.

Meanwhile I seem really good at Spirit, and ######### if I know why.  Probably the passive phasing, and the fact I have eyes and especially ears so i can usually hear survivors pretty well, even without stridor.

  • Yo, check out purple/green/comicbook villain suzy on the main menu.

It's going to take practice and the devs optimizing her hatchet collisions to do well hitting people on the fly, and over obstacles.

There is programs that will put crosshairs on your screen, and if all else fails, a clear sticker, or tape to add crosshairs manually.
Edit: being on ps4, you'll probably have to go clear tape option, and maybe tweak your control sensitivity.

Circle drops survivors, but you can edit key maps some.

Best bet is to try and hit survivors throwing pallets down, or during their vaults when they cannot really dodge because they are mid animation.

is that program legal, or is it bannable to use it? If legal, what's it called and where can I find it?

I don't have experience in such things as I know of none on ps4. Sorry.

I just got one of those clear circular stickers you find on electronics boxes and put it on my screen using a game that thay has crosshairs for alignment. Hardly notice it except when I aim as huntress. It helps some.

Some specialty stores might have screen overlays for a more professional touch.
