I'd say the groups are this:
Trap Killers: Trapper, Hag, Freddy. These killers alter the environment in order to catch survivors off guard. They require strategy and proper trap placement to do well.
Stealthy Killers: Pig, Wraith, GF, T1 Myers. These killers require stealth and smart movement to get the jump on survivors.
Information Killers: Legion, Plague, Doctor, Demogorgon. These killers require you to know where survivors are, and so they gain this information rather easily due to KI, Infection from objects, Screams, and Portals. They have to know where survivors are to even be good.
M1 Killers: T2+3 Myers, Spirit, Clown. These killers must down people only with M1. Their power helps slightly, but they require mindgames to do well. Spirit is the only M1 killer to require different strategies against, but it isn't very different.
M2 Killers: Billy, Bubba, Nurse, Huntress. These killers have different mindgames to most. The chainsaw killers can one shot you if you're out of position, Nurse can ignore looping, and Huntress can punish people with proper aim. They require different chasing strategies to be countered, but most don't like to learn them.
As for which are strongest, I'd say Spirit and Hag are strongest right now, with new nurse behind them by a little bit.
I don't think most should be countered by looping, but that's what the devs have made their mind on...
-
Well, the way I play usually gets me max points, I just play normally, really. I only bring out moris if I'm having a bad day with toxic R1-3 survivors or a known SWF group.
-
Nurse used to when she was strong, but now it goes to spirit. It's better than just being mindless all the time.
-
Pig's been nerfed enough. As @Luigifan64 mentioned, it's been done before to a detrimental effect. It'd be a pocket whispers at best, and a negative at worst.
-
No. Sole Survivor is a selfish perk. Leave it alone.
-
People will tunnel no matter how hard you make it. Some just will. It's in their nature. However, killers are punished for tunneling anyway, with the amount of second chance perks they have at their disposal and with the scoring system.

The swarm
Uses a bee smoker as a weapon.
Power: Hive
Spawns with 5 hives. When a survivor is within 16 metres of a hive, they will suffer the stung status, similar to deep wounds, but with a twist; if the survivor lingers near the hive they will continue getting stung, but if they leave the radius of the hive, they will gradually recover over time.
Survivors can dismantle the hives but at the cost of getting stung 75% faster. If a survivor lingers near a hive for too long they will be put into the injured state, and eventually, the dying state. 1 min 15 sec for survivors to be fully stung.
The swarm requires 30 seconds until they can spawn another hive. Spawning a 6th hive instantly removes the oldest hive.
Perks:
- Hex: cauterize
If a survivor attempts to heal within 32 metres of the hex totem, their healing speed is reduced by 15/30/45%
- Sweet scent
Become obsessed with 1 survivor. When other survivors are within 3/5/7 metres of your obsession is outside of your terror radius, they will be revealed to you. Distortion negates this perk completely.
-Enraged
Everytime a survivor is unhooked you gain a token, up to a maximum of 4. When hitting a healthy survivor with maximum number of tokens, instantly put them into the fying state. However, hitting injured survivors results in in a loss of 3/2/1 tokens.
The power is passive. This would be a weaker killer in practice (an M1 killer like Micheal or Wraith). If they had the ability to control the bees, maybe send them to attack survivors in a chase to distract them... then maybe this would work. idk.
Hex: Cauterize shouldn't be a hex perk. It's too weak, like Huntress' Lullaby or Thrill of the Hunt.
Sweet Scent: I like the concept, but I think a better way to word it would be this:
- Become obsessed with one survivor. When other survivors enter a 3/5/7 meter radius of the obsession, their aura is revealed to the killer. Distortion and Sole Survivor negates this perk.
That would make it more clear. I like the concept a lot, and encourages perks that are barely used... rather like how Stridor counters Iron Will.
Enraged: Seems like a worse Make Your Choice. One that doesn't really work. It's impossible to get all 4 tokens because there is no one shot ability with this killer (with exception of the hives, but that's passive and preventable). I would change this to an obsession perk.
- Become obsessed with one survivor. When a survivor is unhooked, you gain a token. At the maximum of 4, the next survivor to be hit by you will be put in the dying state. Hitting your obsession makes you lose 3/2/1 tokens.
That would be better, imo, and would synergize with Save The Best For Last and Dying Light.
I like the concept a lot, and this is my opinion on it.
-
I've made a few concepts myself. I'll just put their links here, since each page goes in depth on their abilities and perks. Most of these have a survivor with them.

The Knight (Mine also has a shield bash, but also a lunge... but that was before Demo came out): https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/87719/new-chapter-concept-pen-and-sword#latest
And for a bonus, I have a solo Survivor, Charlotte: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/98792/new-solo-survivor-concept-looking-for-feedback#latest
I have more, but they're not on this site yet, and until these others are given feedback, I won't bother quite yet.
-
Not quite sure. It's so vague that it's open for speculation.... but I wouldn't be surprised if Rin's Father was added. But if he's added as a survivor, that'd make it more interesting than if he was a killer.
But if they do make him a killer, they need to remake the Yamakao estate as well, since he'd have no other realm.
I really hope it's not a spirit change though. She's not unbeatable, and the game needs strong killers so that killers have an option if they want to go against red ranks.

Yes I agree with an overhaul or scrap but there are some people who do like to rank up.
I didn't disagree... I am just saying those who camp don't care about rank, for the most part.
-
The killer already is punished for camping: They lose points for emblems and allow gens to get done. I don't think that will discourage camping in the long run though, since some people don't care about rank... or points.
The emblem system for killer and survivor is messed up. It's hard to get both to work unless you play in one very specific way, and even then there's no reason to get up to red ranks.
I think there should either be an entire overhaul of the system for both sides, or scrap it. For killers, most emblems are based off of survivor actions/mistakes, and for survivor they are competing for each emblem... which isn't how their game really works at this moment...

Mhm. Only viable thing left to use?
ANY of the toolboxes
Purple insta heal
BNP
Keys (obviously)
Super heal medkits
Insta-blind flashlights
(So that's every item, the opposite of the "only viable item" and let's move past items)
Dead Hard for free mistake
Decisive Strike for free invulnerability
Adrenaline for free mistake
Borrowed Time for free mistake
Various gen rush builds for quick escape matches
Balanced Landing for infinites
Lithe for free time waster
Unbreakable for free second chance
WGLF to set the killer back in hardly any time at all
SWF to gain information not meant to be given to you
Hatch for free escape for being immersed
Are you noticing a trend here? Everything given to you is given for the express purpose of giving you a second chance, taking progress away from the killer, and ultimately rewarding you for making mistakes. And even if, after all that, you still make enough mistakes to be the last one alive, you get a free escape out a mechanic we have no way of stoping besides pure luck. But you guys, even still now, get yet another free second chance through keys. There's no counterplay. There's no stopping it. The only way we can even attempt to is by slugging which is "against the rules" so if we were to theoretically play by your bullshit rules, you still win. Killers hardly get second chance perks or get rewarded for when they fail and when they do (Noed) you ######### and moan and weaponize DCs until it's removed. The game is fundamentally weighted towards your side and yet you complain that it should be tilted even more. You outmumber the killer 4 to 1 and still insist that any killer able to beat you in a 1v1 is broken, despite that only being 1/4 of your full power. Then any killers able to adequately deal with all 4 survivors to the point of maybe having a chance at winning is "broken beyond belief" and you DC like children throwing a temper tantrum until you get your way. We saw it with Freddy, Nurse, soon to be Spirit, Legion, and so many other things that it's just laughably pathetic. You are going to kill this game if you continue this way. You will eventually bring the game to a point that getting a single kill is considered a king of all results, and then complain even more because you got killed. At this rate, why don't we just change the killer to hold your hand while you repair generators and walk out the door. Because real soon, they won't even be powerful enough to do that.
Amen.

Franklin's and tunnelling now 4 man keys well sorry lmao
Franklin's doesn't work anymore since Plunderer's highlights objects. They'll just find it again. Or another in a chest, since the find rate is so high with that perk.

I just got to rank 6 tonight, commonly playing with people above me and I'm praying for Rank Reset now. I get what you mean.
I mean, I can hold my own in Rank 3 as Legion, but I just don't find it fun at all. : P
Yeah, it's just not worth it.
-
You can't lose tokens with Shred, making STBFL a great perk for Demo.
Unrelenting has no effect though.
-
Main ability: Throwing Knives:
He can carry 3 that recharge 1 for every 30 seconds. They deal one health state of damage, but take three to fully down a survivor (That way he's not just a better huntress). From healthy to Injured, injured to DW, DW to downed.
@PistolTimb said:
Good power idea: he jumps into a locker and can teleport to other lockers at will. When he jumps out, he has the undetectable status effect for a good chunk of time. He could have some passive bonuses to make up for having a power that doesn't help in a chase. Something like the faster vault speed and longer lunge Myers gets.
Each killer's power should help in a chase, however indirect. That could be a good secondary ability.
-
Not sure... I'd want it to be the more historically accurate one than the one in Identity V or Assassin's Creed.
-
Um... maybe... but they could try to remember... I don't find it difficult to remember most of the time...
-
Spine Chill. It denies stealth killers and is one of the most reliable perks for stealthy survivors. It's an addictive perk though, since if you unequip it you'll be caught off guard a lot of the time.

Anything below 4 is good for me. Having one red rank per game is usually ok as well, it's when you get to rank 4 when salt and toxicity really turn up. It's just stress I don't want/need.
-
I don't really use any method for readying up. If I suspect that it's someone I know (that I don't like), I might just switch to Legion, just to rub it in their faces that I can beat them with the (arguably) worst killer in the game.
If it's someone I do know, I'll just send them a message or join their party (on Xbox, and only join if it's a 4 man) and just have fun with a meme loadout.
Randos I don't really have a method then.
-
For me it just means the killer is near me/I can see them.
-
I think the concept of Overperforming is ludicrous, and that they should instead, shift their mindset to those who actually are mediocre/underperform.
-
It's half and half for me. If there's a perk on a killer that I don't feel like leveling up... then maybe. But not so much anymore... since the New Legion skins came out, I'm saving for them. And for Joey's cosmetics since I don't have all of his either.

Fun is subjective. Also, a killer is only as good as the player who controls them. I'm garbage at nurse and Billy, but I'm great with Legion.
I've seen more mediocre spirit players than good ones.

Only one state, you need to wait 16 seconds without hit and only one use.
Yes it is useful if you are freshly unhooked and need to pop nearby gen. You can repairing a gen and in meantime be healed. But useful is not ultra rare. Compare it with killers red addons like "silent spirit" or "insta hatchets" or with mori. One hook and bye bye entity.
Well, it's still a free health state. It just takes skill to use.
Everything can be useful, it's just how you use it. Using a syringe means it ignores perks that slow down healing, it also means you don't have to hold down M1 to heal... it's insanely good even still. Even if it's effect isn't as pronounced as the old syringe.
Silent spirit is a purple addon (Prayer Beads), not red.
Instadown hatchets are balanced because:
- You have to hit the hatchet (which have major hitbox problems).
- Be limited to less hatchets (1 at default, 3 with addons).
- You must Reload more often.
It's more effective just to use Oak haft and green handkerchief addons in the long run.
That's why I offered a time limit, or (as I've seen suggested) everyone must be hooked first. This means a stealth player can keep their team from being morid.
-
@Ebisek said:
Biggest problem is... There is no ultra rare game breaking offering for survivals. Same situation with addons.
And only one ultra rare addon (light bulbs and brand new parts are scrap, not ultra rare) has been removed - insta heals. BTW. Instaheal should no longer to be a "ultra rare" thing. Maybe "uncommon".
Why the survivals have only trash offerings and not something like a "mori"?
Well, the syringe heals you one full health state over a short period of time. I'd say that's very useful and deserving it' ultra rare status.
I agree that the veils are useless... but the point of the game is that survivors don't get a free escape. An offering to be the opposite of Moris would be very strong.
-
@Karl_Childers said:
It would be better, but Im not big on the idea of more timers. Simple, I would make it only after the killer has hooked all survivors once...they can then start to mori. This incentivizes them to switch targets and to get all their hooks first and people don’t feel cheated. As a compromise, I would no longer show the secret offering. This would make it so the last remaining survivor to be hooked has no idea the killer is unlocking the ability to mori by hooking them. No offering does present a small clue that it could possibly be in play....but that’s nothing like now though and would be fair. If a survivor chooses to go super stealth and hides all game to avoid getting hooked , well that means they are doing nothing to help their team so who cares. That’s a win for the killer either way. Of course the 4th survivor to be hooked may just be tunneled and moried, but by that point everyone was able to play the game so I doubt there would be much anger over that.
It is still strong, survivors aren’t cheated with a quick death, and the killer has to earn it with a very reasonable requirement. A DC can also count as a hook for the mori. Goes without saying that keys would be nerfed also.
That actually sounds better than a timer. It would also be fair as well.
-
@Neigeflocon said:
Moris are a classic addition to the game. They are uncommon enough and are fine as is. It's essentially fighting overpowered with overpowered.
Tweaking (possibly nerfing) moris shouldn't be a priority at all right now. They are iconic. Not to mention the original idea has a big potential to turn into a slugfest AND give the final survivor the ace move just like a decisive strike endgame collapse. Moris are meant to be the be-all-end-all of you for the match, one needs to take the end of that punishment sadly.
I'm actually in agreement with you. But survivors are crying for them to be outright nerfed, and after seeing what they did to Nurse... I'm just suggesting a comprimise so they don't gut them either.
-
@EuphoricBliss35 said:
Easy fix: remove moris outside of devour hope. Remove keys. Two things in the game that inspire sweat on both sides and ends games earlier then they already do.
So you're in favor of just removing them because they are "unfair"? I think both keys and Moris have a place in DBD, but they just need tweaks.

Before I go into this I am a killer main so bear with me.
Survivors, like I stated, are ENCOURAGED to work together. You put your faith in one another to keep running for another day. The perk in question will be pointless in SWF when they can just tell their team where they are.
In my opinion, survivors whom act out on their own die the fastest. Without the help of the team everything will fall apart. It takes one little choice for the killer to snowball it into the win. Disguise Killers would be (yet again) beaten at red ranks due to a lot of SwF.
Survivors have usually this beginning moments in the match when they have to pull together a plan fast without communications at higher ranks. This, as a killer main in my opinion, is the most important part of the match. The ability to be stunned, have them heal and the other run whilst I chase the obsession as they stunned me and had friends.
It would make SwF into a stronger force, making it worse for everyone involved. Killers would dodge lobbies if they remotely look SwF. I get it, Survivors shouldn't be perfect. But then again, why should they be able to screw each other over without penalty?
Survivors are never perfect, killers know this and abuse it. The fact that this perks is the Survivor exploiting their weakness of long timers by insta-healing in 2-5 seconds. This would make killers give up, losing all progress in the chase because she found a friend and insta-healed..
It would probably replace a Meta-perk in SWF. But here, in solos, too much trolling could be caused...
I will state this again, as a Killer Main whom is a rank 16 Survivor I cannot defend properly how they would feel, as a Killer all I can say is that it makes a 2 Minute Chase that much longer because she was running Bond.
Look, I'm a killer player as well, and I'm speaking from experience when I made this concept. I'm not a great survivor, but I'm at least purple ranks.
Survivors in lore never have perfect teamwork, in fact, most of them run away from each other. Besides, SWFs wouldn't use Communion, Solos would. Sure, it'd make Solo harder, but if there's a three man SWF it'll make them nervous. That's all you need.
I would like to point out Communion has a cooldown of 60 seconds as well as you must be injured to use it, so it can't be abused.

Yeah. That's enough incentive to get people to cleanse.

I think they deserve to be exhausted when broken. Also sickness should spread even when survivors aren't broken.
I hate when I played plague that I'd infect a survivor but because they weren't broken they wouldn't spread the sickness. Meant it took me a lot longer to spread it.
In really life your usually exhausted when your sick so it makes since. It would make some survivors cleanse a lot quicker since they have no comfort of a dead hard or sprint burst when in a chase
I also think the yellow apple addon should be basekit.

No, grass and corn do NOT move when she phases. This is such a common myth.
And spirit can just look down when she starts phasing so she can't be blinded.
And I bet you that you wouldn't be able to detect spirit starting to phase by her animations restarting more than maybe 50% of the time.
I've seen grass move at least.
But if she's standing still, she won't be looking down, since she wants to see where survivors are... and you can blind her then.
I do that consistently.
-
I always refer to her as the Blair Witch killer. Just because she may have wendigo psychosis, but her form was a result of her torture in the living world, not in the Realm of the Entity. So, she's more a witch than anything else. One whose magic was given by the Entity.
-
As a killer, it makes my job only slightly easier. Sure, they're not highlighted, but they distract survivors from Gen Rushing, which is always a plus.

Grass and Corn doesn't move when she's phasing.
Crows aren't spooked when she's phasing, and even if they did she would be chasing you or right behind you meaning you already spooked them yourself.
It does but it's very minor and you most likely won't notice it during a chase.
Yes but the chase music and heartbeat makes it very hard to listen to.
This is probably one of the more valid counters, blinding her with a flashlight allows you to know whether or not it's the husk or just her.
This is also one of her counters, and one I've used many times myself.
Bringing perks shouldn't be a valid counter, it's a bandaid to a problem, not a fix.
That is just factually incorrect. She does move grass and Corn when phasing. I've seen it whenever I'm on a corn map.
Crows are spooked by her phase. I've had many approaches ruined by them.
It's noticeable when you're at a loop, which is what people complain about.
Flashlights are better on PC than console, admittedly, which is the platform I use.
Most people I've noticed don't try to do this.
And I said that perk is unreliable myself. I list it as a possible counter. But then, a perk shouldn't negate a killer's power at all.

Ghostface is incredibly good and versatile if you know what your doing. My friend mains him, Legion, and Hag at rank 1.
Ghostface has 2 good perks vs legions 1 good perk. Sadly imho Discordance is a underrated perk and its incredibly powerful for awareness. I love using Discordance, Thrilling Tremors, Pop Goes the Weasel, and A Nurse's Calling on GF.
I find that Discordance isn't as useful as Mad Grit, but maybe that's because people body block me constantly. I also think Iron Maiden is underrated since survivors love wasting time screaming since it's something they control. It's great for knowing where they are. : )
But, a perks strength is up to the person that uses it I suppose.
