I found once I hit red ranks with trapper no placement was good enough. People just knew where to look.
Random can work but only once per match, people just wise up to them very quick.
I find his strength is more shutting down loops and putting people out of position rather then actually trapping.
Yeah, it's forced me to get creative. Half the traps I use are random hail marys, and they still work.
Just use tar bottle if you're having trouble with people looking for them.
It can be indeed.

No, I just remembered you had talked to me earlier but I couldn't see your comment. You were asking a general question and I answered. : P

I have no idea what to do with Hex: Spam, one person says it was too good (and shouldn't revert a completed gen), and you say it's not good enough. The too suggestions and such have no middle ground either. For now, I think I might leave it as is unless someone else has a differing opinion.
In my opinion it's fine, though.
Well, I'm looking at it from a mechanical standpoint.
Ruin and Devour Hope deserve a hex spot because they are very powerful effects, even if Ruin doesn't seem powerful.
Yours, I think, has the opposite effect: It sounds powerful on paper but probably isn't in practice.
It could be a survivor main... but I wouldn't presume. If you think the perk is fine, that's your choice as the creator. All I can do is give my opinion.

Hmm he’s good on a lot of out door maps, but seriously struggles on the indoor ones.
Most people won’t fall for the same placement twice.
That's why you need to make your traps random, but have a method for them. People think traps are always in the same spot. But if you change that trap's location, they'll have a sense of security because they'll realize the trap isn't there... only to fall for another one.
You can block off certain areas with trapper's traps on indoor maps: That massive pitfall in both the Game and Hawkins, certain vaults... etc. But it's true that you can't hide them as easily.
-
it seems like it's effect only can happen, what, 3 times at the most? That kind of effect is limited anyway, not to mention its' effects are so unique/.
Now, if spam was like this: if a gens are completed in rapid succession, a random gen will be reset. This will force gen progress will stall, since another will be reset if they do a gen too quickly.
In that case, they'd be stuck at around 2 gens if they genrush which makes their job take a lot more time. And therefore be worthy of a Hex perk.
-
Technically yes, you should. Should you? No. Not if you want a strong build. A meme build? Sure, but not a strong one.

Trapper's not bad on most maps if you have an imagination for traps.

Snares are way better for 3 simple reasons:
- No cooldown, no reload time, you can just spam them infinitely without losing time
- They stay on the ground forever
- You have 10 of them without any additional addons
You only have 8 snares, but the other points still stand.

It should not be able to mori a survivor, especially when that survivor can be healthy or even injured.
Why not? It takes a ridiculous amount of stalking to achieve even with both addons. It makes you slower, making PWYF essential and forcing the killer to have three perks. One of which will probably be ruin. Then they can't pick hook based perks like BBQ or Pop because they won't need them, which leaves them with few options.
When you mori the second to last survivor, you're not guaranteed the 4k, since it's likely the last survivor will camp the hatch too.
That doesn't get me started on the small amount of BPs and Pips you get (a similar problem for Scratched Mirror too, but nobody complains about that one).
That also doesn't talk about its' direct counters:
- Vaults: Can't mori you here.
- Pallets: Can't mori during a stun.
- Lockers: He can't mori you on the ground or out of a locker.
- Survivor actions (although only for a limited time. This includes cleansing/gens/doors): Same reason as the last 3.
In other words:
- Limited build options that make sense.
- Wastes a lot of time stalking.
- Most Gens will get done, if not all
- No guaranteed kills
- Fewer points
- Few if not any pips.
- Has lots of counters.
And you think it's ok to nerf it because it has the possibility of killing every survivor?
Yeah no. It's fine where it is.

Do you know how PWYF works?
When you find your obsession, you have to initiate a chase and then lose the chase to gain one stack (5% extra speed at Tier 3 of PWYF). There will be a cooldown to getting the next stack. Doing this three times will give you 15% extra speed. This will make you impossible to lose in a chase since you are very much faster than survivors.
The only way you lose tokens is by a hostile action, which includes: any kind of killer attack. However, Tombstone Moris aren't considered hostile actions, so you will never lose a token as long as they keep being mori'd.
This means a permanent 15% movement for the entire game. I don't know how much movement speed is taken from you by the Tombstone addon, but PWYF clearly goes over that and gives you more.

Here is my constructive feedback: nerf it and tombstone piece with it.
Hardly constructive feedback. You don't say how or why it needs the nerf. It's already niche.

It allows you to instantly kill people without a single hit in the game.
It lets you stalk some unaware person on a gen, then mori ANYONE of your choosing by just getting behind them and triggering t3 right behind them.
The add on is barely ok as it is, just because it takes a while to stalk, it should not be something that people want to run every other match.
Lockers, Vaulting and survivor actions are its' weaknesses. You can't mori them mid vault, or if they're on a totem or gen, or in a locker. It's got its' counters.

I think to balance Judith's, instead of greatly reduced mobility give it higher Terror Radius on EW2 and EW3 and just a little bit reduce mobility.
I dont know why many hate Michael, because i think Spirit is more of a headache but fun and challenging to play against and it gives me the thrill. escaping, surprises and running away from it is fun.
Challenge and Thrill is the fun factor of the game removing it is just like killing the game.
I actually don't see an issue with it since PWYF gives you 15% bonus speed if you find your obsession, which can make the difference and then some.
There's also Burger King Myers loadout which would be ruined by your suggestion (Scratched Mirror/Tombstone for 85% movement speed, but with wallhacks, oh joy!).

But the reason they have them is for communication. There is an actual mechanical purpose behind survivors emoting, unlike with killers. Any kind of animation in the game can be used to troll or be toxic because people get creative, but whether you see it or not survivor emotes do serve a practical purpose.
Why they're there and how they're used now are two different things. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying that intention doesn't really matter.

First time here? Well get used to it but if the game was like u said it be complete trash and most people wouldn't play it saying that survs and killers are supposed to be the same speed?? Did u even read wat u just typed?? The killers are supposed to be faster than the survs that's how it is supposed to be and always will, also shows that if ur typing this here means u just suck at the game and I suggest u either practice or leave cuz there are why more toxic things than "killers being faster"
Also I believe ur new to a 1v4 type of game so let me give u advice this community as alot of toxic people amd ur highly likely gonna be hurt by them since u think killers are op, if you played as much as half of us here the survs has a huge advantage especially in a swf
Why are you here if you think the game is trash? I would like a legitimate answer.
Most people aren't toxic here. There are way worse communities out there. There are people who will be toxic, but those who are, are few and far between. Don't fill the new player's head with lies. We want to welcome new people to the community.

While some good perks are hidden behind paywalls, especially with licensed characters (DS, BBQ, STBFL, Franklin's, the list could go on) they can all be earned in due time, which is much better than a lot of games.
The grind is long, but if you put the time in you will get better and do well. Sure, killer is faster than survivor, but survivors have pallets and windows to gain distance. As well as exhaustion perks to give even more distance. It's all about how you play. Survivor has a decent skill ceiling to it... you just have to play a little bit to gain experience first.

Thing is that survivor emotes are there to communicate to other survivors ('Come' and 'There!') as part of the team.
I'm am totally against emotes that are simply taunts and poses. Personal preference.
Well, can't argue that since that's just opinions. I don't see any wrong in having the option though, since more options is always better. That being said, I also think it should fit within the atmosphere of the game. Like clown doing some knife tricks, or Micheal tilting his head like admiring his work... that kind of thing.
-
A few reasons:
- Julie exists.
- I don't like relying on teammates.
- I don't have friends.
- I like outsmarting a team of four (I liked playing evolve before this) and skill matters as killer.
- I like playing the hard role that requires thought (I used to play dark souls a lot so you know where I get my pseudo-masochism from).
-
Two options. Either:
- You become a killer. This is a very rare option, since what determines a killer is unclear, but if a survivor dry of hope were to make the cut, that'd be the result.
- You are sent to the void. It's basically a black hole, where the entity puts all the stuff it doesn't eat. Used killers and survivors are found here. There isn't a lot on the void, since it's not mentioned directly in the lore at all (but is referenced in the Nurse achievements... although her power has nothing to do with the void)... but the devs have stated it to exist.
I kind of want to know more about the different subrealms the entity has, but there is very little information about them. The Spirit uses the Ethereal Plane to haunt survivors, the Nurse and Wraith use the Spirit world, Freddy has the Dream world, and Demo uses the Upside Down. Then the survivors have access to the campfire...
Then the maps are individual "realms", which are subrealms of the main one, and each belongs to a certain killer... it's all confusing and I'm getting off topic.
TL;DR: Most often, they'll be put in the void. However some survivors might become killers.

Julie's not on here... neither is the rest of Legion, but I don't really care about them. P3 Julie or nothing. : P
-
If anything, I think that survivors don't get enough. Partly because We're Going to Live Forever is just garbage, and the killer counterpart (BBQ) is actually good.
-
I was going to answer yes, but it looks like @FireHazard beat me to it. : P
-
That's the one. Although your gif didn't work. : P
-
Chainsaws for both are skill based. Billy's can be juked and you can force Leatherface to be an M1 killer for most of the game if you hug walls.
I think @Monlyth explains it for you best. It's easy to see, makes a lot of noise, and can be avoided through your actions.
Again, I'm stressing this: If you're out in the open against a Billy or Bubba, it's most likely your fault for being out of position against a one hit down when it's actually pretty easy to avoid that situation.
-
Who knows? It's unclear whether they're fed or given rest as well... it's a lovecraftian horror. Maybe they are deprived of it to keep them on edge. After all, it's not like dreams can save them either.
I doubt we'll get an answer on any of these points.

@Fibijean said:
Survivors have emotes so that they can communicate with each other. Killers don't need to communicate. Sorry to be a buzzkill, but I just feel like this could only go one way. Taunts would not only detract from the atmosphere of the game, DBD players really don't need more ways to be toxic.
Most of the time they aren't used to communicate. Most of the time they are used to troll or actively hinder other survivors.
-
@Dr_Loomis said:
Besides, the killers each have an irritating built-in emote after they successfully hit a survivor (wiping/looking at weapon etc).
It would only be used as a taunt for hooked/blocked survivors. The killer is a solo player and doesn't need to communicate with members of a team.
If you have a problem with that, just use STBFL! : D
I don't quite see what's wrong with having an optional animation killers can perform at any time they want. Survivors have them. It's only fair that killers can too...

Ooooh that sounds fun too! I could imagine Huntress behaving differently depending on which animal head she’s wearing!
This may be a little burdensome to program in initially though. Perhaps if we got a standard set of unique killer emotes for basic skins, other variations could be introduced later. Maybe even sold in the store. (Profit potential may help motivate BHVR to actually follow upon an idea like this!)
That works. Make it profitable. : )

This same thing happened to me, but it was a Jake. I didn't mean to sandbag, because I thought the killer was coming in the opposite direction in Hawkins Lab. We were in one of the corridors and I was trying to go one way and he was trying to come my way, so we were paused there while I was trying to figure out what was going on. The killer came up behind him and downed him.
I wasn't doing it on purpose, I'm just not that good. Then he came to me later when I was on the hook and kept pretending to unhook me. That kind of hurt my feelings, so I went afk after that.
Yeah... survivor mains can get real salty...

So they'll actually be one of the few cosmetics that'll have an iri shard price? That's cool!

I had a claudette do that thing where she pretends to take me off the hook until I died because I accidentally sandbagged her. I didn't know where the killer was at the time, and I'm admittedly not a good survivor. (It was a GF if you were wondering.)
It's not nice. Sometimes things happen and they don't mean to harm you.
But pointing at an occupied locker is just rude. If I see someone do that as killer I give them more leniency but punish the other one.

Flip Flop. It's saved me every time I've brought it. And I'd rather look at that then some of the other perk designs...

I'm unsure of what to say about it. It's not a very good perk now, but if buffed incorrectly, would be very powerful against certain killers... (mainly the weaker ones as well as maybe spirit)
Then again, I haven't played with it much. The timer is excessive, but the effect is strong... idk.

Same as buying the normal game I think. It's to let me players catch up for free, most games with expansions do this
If it is indeed the same price I hope they give players who bought everything beforehand a nice set of cosmetics... kind of like what TF2 did with that WW1 helmet.

Each killer could have a unique emote, but still be careful not to kill the atmosphere.
- Freddy could scrape his claws along a nearby wall, sparking all the way.
- Myers could turn his head to one side and stare at you as he walks past in a different direction.
- The Hag could yank a foot or heart or some other body part out of the ground for a quick snack. Something she supposedly buried there in the mud to save for later, you know, like a squirrel.
You get the idea. These along with standard “yes” an “no” head shakes would be nice!
I like this idea a lot. It could even change depending on cosmetic sets (such as different Legion members. Frank and Joey act differently, and so do Julie and Suzie).

True. I think they should stay there... but give extra points in survival if you cleanse a Devour Hope after 3-5 stacks. : P

Kindred is not a self serving perk. Never has been, never will be. It is very much in a similar vein to Borrowed Time. The only reason you don't see it used much at higher ranks is not because it's bad, but because there are a lot of SWFs (which makes that perk pointless) or they don't need it to do well (because they have experience).
Of course, I think it's fine because it's a solo survivor perk. I find running it increases our team's chances of survival... but it's personal preferences. It gives enough information to your team for them to inform their decisions and increase team effectiveness.
