You can't down Survivors with it and they can out run you so I don't really see a point to it? I've been trying to level him up because I want his perks and I figured ill play some games as him. So I need some tips or is he just that bad?

Legit Elo Booster. U chase everyone, give them all free altruism and chasing points, quit, every single survivor is happy.

It goes on ping with a bias towards survivor. If they have trash tier ping it is your problem somehow and the server will log that they dropped the pallet on you before you even see it in your perceived version of time.

The worse i have had so far is me at 20 ping being hit validated against a survivor with 100 ping.

i doesn't make any sense. Ping = respond system. Players with lower ping have advantage over those who has high. They probably messed it up just in survivor favour.

  • I don't think we have chat mute punishment. If he got restricted from chat for 2 weeks, it would be different story.

Regardless of the benefits, killers have stated for years, "Just do bones". Survivors get a reason to do them, the slow down remains the same, especially if they continue to bless them throughout the game, and people are going to complain?

I don't get this. If survivors are on doing bones, repeatedly at that, the gens are going slower.

U win in chasing and healing. Healing boons currently outscale sloppy butcher x5, not to mention basic hits. Mb u think u lost some seconds to rebless it, but your team won in everything else.

And shadow walk totems now allows u to run all over hidden, so killer don't see your scratch marks, and unless he hear u it's a win win.

  • If killers needs something, it's ability to set up his totems manually so rng won't beat him up and some power/addon tunnings.

If u need something to help u find survivors use aura perks, there are more than enough.

SWF will always call out where the boon totems are. You chase one, meanwhile the 2 or 3 others heal with the extra 100% boon healing speed in seconds across the map.

As far as i see it, u don't need meds now. Boon allows u to heal yourself. Set boon totem and pick toolbox or map. I guess until steamers teach everyone on how to use it, none will think it's strong.

But don't they make survivors "just do bones" and slow the gen rush. Isn't that what killers have been asking for ?

U loose 16 sec to get benefit in chase and healing. How's that slowing down game? It's a win win situation.

  • Until hex perks can't be set again, boon should be one time use.

  • @slendermansmoom said:

it's big brain time. how about a new update that allows killers to trap chests and when a survivor opens it they become injured or maybe there location is shown. or they could make it so the item loses it's charges like flanklins demise if it's not opened in time.

What if they make chest like in DS? U come close and it grabs u for 5sec.

The devs will likely tone down the boon perks. Plague and Trapper are receiving good buffs and keys finally got changes. And with some more perks getting good buffs like Blood Favor and Retribution. (Bonus Ghostface not add-on dependent).Yes Spirit and Deathslinger were nerfed. But overall this wasn’t a balance patch tilted to one side. Too many people are saying killer is dead now and everyone should go play survivor

While I agree Dbd community is more like babies and mods don't punish similar crying topics spam, people expected more love for killers. Legion, Clown, Pig and others currently are kinda weak and require killer player to be much better than survivors to get some kills (And i mean MUCH better not similar skill. Because similar skill is a tie, and tie=win for survivor). Not even talking about 4K.

Boon totems is interesting idea but it's impact on current meta isn't significant and people won't stop running meta builds or playing dirty.

If u did poll before patch notes and ask people who they think needs some buffs or nerfs none would suggest Plague or Deathslinger so it was big surprise they changed something about them.

Killers are reaching top MMR very easily, because the biggest gain of mmr is for how long the match is. Survivors just have to prolong the match longer than 4-6 minutes and no matter how bad it was for you as Killer you go up in MMR. Doesn't matter your score. Doesn't matter how well you did in game. Doesn't matter if you even pip.

So we have the issue that all the Killers even if they do poorly are getting to max mmr (which caps at 1900 and starts at 1100), while survivors are going up and down based on how well they are doing in game and how long the game lasts.

So basically kills and hooks doesn't matter? I can stay afk and assume myself god tier killer?

  • I'm currently 80/20 survivor player. There's no reason to switch from survivor. It's a power role where I don't have to sweat or do anything special to escape. While when I play killer it feels like I need to be incredibly good to outplay everyone.

  • @xEa said:

Guys, please stop and read the text before you rantpost about poor killers.

He played 20+ games and did not get a single kill.

There are only 2 options: The MMR he is currently on is completly wrong or he is on the lowest end already and still looses all the time (which is unrealistic beeing that bad after 4K hours)

Either way, its definitly not a "killers are so weak" problem.

I can't imagine myself loosing 25 games without a single kill, but it is possible if he plays weak m1 killer that tries to 12 hook every game, no to mention he was in very bad mood and probably lost cause of it. That's why I'm curious how he played and how many hooks he had.

  • @I_am_Negan said:

True, but you get one kill out of it. OP said he played for 4 hours with no kills trying to do that challenge 1 kill is better than no kills.

I wonder how many hooks he had in his games.

  • @I_am_Negan said:

You have to play scummy if you want to get it done. Otherwise you have to hope for a braindead team

Playing fair won't get the job done.

Playing scummy with good survivors doesn't work too. If u camp hook, 3 others just do gens and escape.

Op, good luck in future games.

  • Actually if u list forum, everyone complains killers are very weak and game is decided by survivors. If they do bad, they got killed, if they are good it's 3-4 man escape.

Which part don't u understand about repairing gens being the most boring part of the game? Do u really care nothing if people have a good time or not in game??

I don't play to win. If i am able to win it should be a reward to skill in terms of loop, bodyblocks, use of flashlights or pallets. Not because I press a button during 4 minutes.

And concerning killers it should be the same. Reward them for the high skill on chases, not for playing guardian dog around a hook.

If u don't like to do gens, find killer and force him chase u.

  • As devs mentioned before, it takes years to test and implement something. Also based on patch notes we don't know how they actually choose what to do

But when i remember that LoL makes 3-4A format paper long patch notes every 2 weeks, it feels like they don't want to.

You just posted a load of rubbish that doesn’t address the subject of whether or not t-bagging is toxic.

Please explain to me how implicating you the killer that you are easily repeatedly dunking your genitalia into their mouth, as if you were dunking a teabag in water, isn’t a toxic action?

All you’re doing is trying to justify toxic behavior because you believe it gives you an edge in the match or perhaps you think it’s funny.

I'm trying to explain u that being toxic or not, fully depends on your personal reaction. Based on this logic I can call toxic everything I don't like, while it won't be truth for other people.

Until i did something rly bad in after game chat, everything else is game mechanic. If u don't like someone doing something stupid and u use your imagination to call it toxic behavior because for some reason u think about genitalia it's your personal problem.

  • @Huge_Bush said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2536703#Comment_2536703

No, if we discuss it we will reveal how the action of t-bagging is actually survivors imitating the action of repeatedly inserting their genitalia into the mouth of their opponents and that it is, in fact, a toxic action.

There is literally no game play value out of repeatedly crouching in Dbd other than to aggravate the killer.

No. It's not about survivors or killers and their precious things, it's about how u react to it. While some people get mad when they are clicked or t-bagged, if u think about it more it's about do u consider doing something stupid is toxic or not. Because if doing something stupid is toxic well then every single human is toxic and they all should be restricted from games.

Picture this - When I chase survivor, and someone nearby clicks me, it's a win win situation for me. I know one survivor is intentionally throwing a game to get my attention, and if I down survivor I can assume he is nearby so I slug him for i while.

But if u think of it like - Well, this guy want to get me mad and now I'm mad..... ARRGGGRGRGRGGR! I will [Bad word] u, it sounds more like u accept his offer and u two do silly stuff.

  • @Huge_Bush said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2536693#Comment_2536693

Imagine defending toxic behavior. Pray tell, what does “t-bagging” mean? And no, it’s not just crouching over and over.

If we actually discuss it, it will end up with nothing cause it's all about do u feel hurt when someone does something stupid or not. Based on your logic everything that u don't enjoy can be considered toxic, because: Damn, this guy does something in a way i don't enjoy. What a toxic scumbag.

Best way is to look at it from different angle. I personally don't care if they click me or something. It's all about if survivors are trying to make game boring, I can respond same way and either slug them or camp or tunnel. But it's boring for both sides.

Because i saw rly rly good players with huge win streaks majority can only dream off, and yet it feels like some people complain cause of habbit and use something used to be months ago and doesn't happen any more.

Yes, survivor in low MMR is easy yes.

  • @Adaez said:

Lets say the killer camps the first hooked survivor. It takes 120 seconds for you to die on hook if you dont try to unhook yourself.

It takes 80 seconds for a survivor to complete a generator alone, with no perks or addons.

Without perks like kindred you dont know if a killer camps or not,and more than often, more than 1 survivors will wasting time to try and save or at least check if the killer camps if not in a swf on comms.

If its a stealth killer that can hide his tr or use insiduous, not even kindred can help know knowing if the killer camps or not.

Camping is not a problem in a swf, survivors will just stay on gens, knowing the killer just camps.

But in soloq its a nightmare because never, and I mean never survivors dont try to go for the save and usually get downed in the process while no gens are being done.

It would be nice if they added something to know if a killer camps or not when you cant communicate with your teammates at least.

I think SoloQ needs to be nerfed to the ground so people start using their head not only to eat food. And start adapting and using something helpful just instead of running all over and complaining how unfair life is.

As vacaman mentioned, If u are afraid of camping use anti-camping perks.

Pick Kindred if u want to see what's going on. Pick Camaraderie if u want to buy even more time. Pick Deliverance and unhook yourself.

I think maybe the reason the Boons can overwrite Hexes is that otherwise you could turn the Boon perks into basically empty perk slots.

Consider this: Plaything + any other Hex or 3 Hex perks + Haunted Grounds. This way you can turn every single totem into a Hex. If Boons were not able to overwrite Hexes then in those situations the Survivors are unable to use half their perks at all (if they run both Boons, or potentially all their perks if 2 more are added in the future). Plaything gives them a chance to use them early, but Haunted Grounds + 3 Hexes? Nothing you can do. Game starts, your Boons are unusable. Nothing you can do about it, and that's very unfun.

The simplest solution would be to just increase the number of totems. There are more possible spawns than totems, so this should be easy.

Or, the much cooler idea: Add a 6th totem to the basement. For example right in the middle of the hooks. This totem would never be able to become a Hex. Now you always have a known spot for your Bless totem that you can find easily. But because it's in the basement it's risky.

Bonus! This totem could be used for a Monstrous Shrine rework. Make it so that if the killer has Monstrous Shrine while the basement totem is unblessed the Killer gets a powerup. This totem would be blessable even without a Boon (the totem would glow blue but do nothing else, unless you have a Boon perk of course). Now you have this cool back and forth where the Survivors need to go into the basement to disable Monstrous Shrine and the killer wants to go there to disable the Bless to reactivate Monstrous Shrine. And it gives a target that is always available for Boons.

How it's risky if u know where killer is? Like 9 out 10 games survivors go into basement just to pick up items. If something should be changed about totems and boons, it should be one-time use only as hexes. U place it, and if it gets destroyed it's upon u.

Why should it deactivate during the EGC? If you get hooked during EGC, and your teammates get you off and I go for the person just unhooked, is that not tunneling?

I'm fine with DS how it is now. Nerf anymore and it's useless, and as it stands the only thing they literally can do is open the exit gate otherwise they are just standing around for 1 minute, which as a killer you should be happy about. It's fine.

Body block guy who saved u. Killer hits u, u still have Bt buff so keep body block. He downs u, move to the exit because if he tries to hook u, Ds him and run away.

There is no counterplay to it, and it's not tunneling when gates are open. Killer doesn't care who he gets once gates are open.

Its 2021 and people are still complaining about DS after the nerfs. 👩‍⚖️

Let's not complain about things that have no counterplay once EGC hits.

  • Probably main idea is to force players clean totems. Because baby survivors all over complain about hex perks and how they don't want to clean them. U can't just ignore mechanic and then complain about killers.

I play 50/50, for the record.

It's been mentioned quite a long time ago that the idea of a beginning game slowdown was being discussed, but there's been nothing said in a long while. It was to counter the first couple of gens going very quickly, without making gens take longer.

There's corrupt intervention, of course, but I was wondering if each gen could have a corresponding emblem that is within a 36m radius of each gen which survivors only hear, but when they get within 4m of it, the emblem appears and they interract with it to make that corresponding gen available to work. That way there would be a starting objective that doesn't take too much of survivors' time and yet slows down the initial charge a little.

Corrupt intervention would change a bit (perhaps if the gen is activated if further than x metres from the killer, then the Entity protects it for the same duration as usual), but this may add an early task and give the killer a better start, but without causing too much hassle to the survivor.

Just an idea for an extra, simple objective. I'd welcome any thoughts or changes.

Yesterday I faced survivors who afk hide for whole 3min and did nothing while corrupt lasts 2min. So against coordinated group it's a 50/50 perk. I can't say it's a slow down perks, if survivors decide when game starts.

  • How much BP u get from destroyed boon totems? Also do u get badge points when u destroy them?

Yes the EULA will state the use of 3rd party apps, this is of course a legal requirement on us. We do not list what 3rd party apps, same as any other game doesn't list them. Does using voice interfere with the game files in anyway? No of course it doesn't.

Do we actively promote SWF as part of our game? Yes of course we do

Do we have SWF voice channels of our Official Discord? Yes of course we do

Is using a voice channel to chat with your friends whilst playing together bannable? No of course it isn't

That's pretty much the end of it - no the rules do not need to be changed, some common sense needs to be applied though.

And now, to return to the ACTUAL TOPIC OF THIS THREAD - should BP be awarded to killers when playing against SWF groups?

No. Bp is overrated value. And since noone want's to discuss it, mb it's time to close topic?

It's very very rare i see someone runs unbreakable. Ds is noob friendly perk, so it's not because killers do their job, it's more about do your skill check and u are guaranteed to run away.

When i watch good survivors, they are running fun builds and still doing well.

Can't say i have bad teammates... Yeah, sometimes we all die, but my escape rate skyrocket after MMR hit.

  • @Seraphor said:

That's just latency. On the killers screen they were facing you.

Play killer and see for yourself. You never hit anything that's not directly in front of you.

Basically the animation of the killer turning to face you hasn't caight up for you. You are the issue, you're lagging.

Killers get the same problem. Swinging at a survivor and missing the hit even when it should have connected, because the survivor isn't actually in the same olace they are on the killers screen.

Play the game a little more and you'll find out how insanely survivor sided this game is.

It's not latency. It's some sort of visual bug. There are situations on my screen where i miss on hit, but i know my hitbox is bigger and game will count it as successful hit.

  • @BastardKing said:

    Everyone is pointing out that it isn't uncounterable. I am not saying that. I am saying it is a perk that heavily skews data. It is entirely based on survivor performance, since them not cleansing but fixing gens quicker is what gives it to you, and their altruism or lack of determines what you can accomplish with it. Almost nothing about how the killer plays changes, but it turns losses into ties or wins very easily, making it seem that killers who underperform without it are performing better than they otherwise would be. Please stop pointing out a totem can be cleansed. That is basic game understanding. Even in the posts that object to it like this;

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2534905#Comment_2534905

Admits that you just tell your friends to give the killer a free kill. That is what I am saying shouldn't happen, because it makes the killer seem to get more kills than they should. Deathslinger is one of the best examples of this. The number of Deathslingers who get extra kills from NoED made him seem way stronger than he was, when the numbers drop drastically when you look at the ones who don't use NoED. So what happened? He got nerfed for 'Overperforming'. But Deathslinger wasn't the issue, it was NoED messing up the data. A similar problem exists with Clown, Doctor, and several other killers.

Then remove Ds, Dh. Logic is same. Both support bad players. U can mess up, press button and escape.

Don't use fun word when describing everyone. Every single player has different meaning of it. If you enjoy being toy in survivors hands, I'm not. And if i feel like i need to kill survivor, i will do it. It's my job when I chose to play killer.

And buffing gen speed is worse possible suggestion.

    • If Killers could use Franklins or a perk that lets them rummage through opened chests, which items could they pick up? How would they use them?
    • if survivors had a boon perk that could injure (not down) a healthy survivor teammate (not self) for every activation, what would your boon totem do?
    • If Killers were able to remove survivors off of Death Hook (not first hook) and also receive a strong stun (for temporarily disobeying the Entity) to add a token to a Perk, what would this perk do?

Feel free to also ask others to fill in your own scenarios and let’s blend those lines as much as possible. Pretty soon we will all be chasing and killing each other despite “our roles”.

    xD

    • So if I'm going to chase Killer as Survivor I wish I had *Medical Bills* perk. On a moment I tag killer, he gives me 100K BP.
    • Shot gun. Those dirty little survivors running around sometimes make me so mad that I regret I have no shotgun with 8 rounds in it. No need any further explanation.
    • If we had some, It should be the following: Loose one health bar (get injured) and fully heal a survivor in chase.
    • I will call it [Bad Words] perk with the following text: Trick Entity and survivors into thinking u are rebelling. Every time u save survivor, u get 1 token. Upon reaching 5 tokens, when gates are powered up all survivors die.

Welp, thanks to SBMM survivors are SLAMMING these gens, so should I just do an all chase build or something? Getting a bit bored of holding gens ngl, no matter how well I hold a Prove Thyself always pulls them through it

If u don't care about 4k every game run whatever u want. On average u should be able to pull off 6 hooks play. But I'm not sure if it counts as win.
