And it's still useless. Why in the world u want to hit same person 3-4-5 or how much times to get single down? It u chase someone for whole 1 min u already lost a game.

By using Dead Hard multiple times within that same occurrence of being Injured.
So something like: You got hit, you use Dead Hard and gain Hindered #1, Killer gives up on you for whatever reason, you recover from Exhausted but don't heal or can't heal, Killer finds you again, you use Dead Hard again and gain Hindered #2.
Sounds fair. I like it <3

Mm yeah, being unhooked should remove the stacks.
Also being healed from Dying should also remove them.
Btw, reason i'm not hard-nerfing DH is cause i don't mind it much myself.
I don't mind how you want to change the Perk, but for a big change or hard nerf i'm not the right person. 😜
Regardless, imma edit my idea...
I think we miss something. How u can stack it? If killer gets down and slugs u, it's 5%. Someone heals u from dying to injured they are removed. If u use Unbreakable... I think it counts as u healed yourself. If u get unhooked, stacks removed again. How to get more than 1 stack?

Well you're not stupid, but i did make a change.
It's right in front of the Exhaustion cooldown.
Hmm.... It's actually sounds good and fair for both sides. But the question is do Hindered stacks remain when u get unhooked and how big slow is. It's still feels like survivor can pull DH into window or pallet and then make some distance as he does now, and if slow is <5% it's almost not noticeable. Like lets say killer destroyed pallet and it took him 3sec. U can move 4*3=12meters away and 5 or 10% from it is not so big difference. But if it stacks, ouch.
But i rly like the idea.

Mkay, imma try a thing...
Dead hard
When Injured, tap into your adrenaline bank and dash forward quickly to avoid damage.
- Press the Active Ability button while running to dash forward.
- Avoid any damage during the Dash.
Each time Dead Hard is used, gain a stackable Hindered Status Effect until fully healed & the Exhausted Status Effect for 60/50/40 seconds.
Dead Hard cannot be used while Exhausted.
Am I stupid or i don't see any difference? Now u dash and avoid hit. U suggest same thing.

not half as much. a good reward for a really precise input. + no dash.
It will make it broken. Now instead of pallet or window vault u have dash whenever u want. Just press button.

I think it's a matter of what killers deserve the most attention
Trapper is the oldest killer. Spirit is 2 years old and has been "over performing" ever since her release. Death slinger is about a year and a half old. Plague is nearing 3 years old and has little changes.
Twins is not a year old yet and they had to deal with a lot of bugs and imbalance with them. Legion was overpowered on release and they had to rework them. Executioner was released last anniversary.
So they'll come soon but for the sake of trying to please the most people they can't focus on certain killers too much.
How much time does it require to change some numbers? None is asking complete rework. Tune up numbers.
-
Jokes aside it required 30 years experience and 10 years of actual testing to find out Legion is underperforming. So i assume they will make Legion good when i hit my late 80.

Or like, change one of his perks to expose everyone within a certain range to the gen if a gen's fixed. I mean, if they can have pinhead block the gen furthest progressed and give trickster something exposing everyone in his tr when he's carrying someone, they can have Gearhead or Dead Man's Switch work like that.
Or change the hellshire iron to everyone within a certain range loses healthstate if you hit a speared survivor from more then 15m (or something like that)
Perk reword won't help him at all. Killers play Deathslinger mainly cause of his power. If anything needs to be changed it's his power and gameplay around it.

Buff him in what other ways?
Yes, the spamming was an issue, but everything else people complained about was either due to their unwillingness to alter their playstyle or the dev's unwillingness to give us more dynamic maps.
But now...
- His max range is STILL 18m, while his TR is now about twice that.
- His aiming now needs to go through the full cycle, meaning you can hardly get close enough to get a shot in.
- His basespeed remains unchanged.
You can't 'buff him in other ways' without making him unfun in other ways.
Because now running M&A is pretty much a requirement if you even want to use his power, because the addons that lower his try and increase his speed aren't very common or helpful.
Said it elsewhere, the better way would have been to not change anything about him but making the whirring clearer AND adding a mechanic that would punish faking shots, which is possible.
What do u understand by *more dynamic map*? More vaults and more pallets to play around?
U can buff Slinger by not making him busted. It all depends on how devs want to see him playing. It's all about is his shotgun is main weapon or alternative. Cause if it's main, then add some additional effect to reward being good at aiming. If it's alternative and more for zoning and fear element, then work around TR and movespeed and rework his shotgun into wired traps.

With the Spirit and Deathslinger massacre (just watch it, they'll come for the other OGs soon enough) one really has to wonder how exactly do the devs EXPECT people to play the game.
Like, given their 'justification' for the deathslinger changes it would seem they want the player to stalk across the map aiming down the gun (slowing him down to what... 105? 95?) THE WHOLE MATCH except when reeling in or carrying a survivor.
Or, the spirit change now... I don't really know what they expect people to do.
I'd not be surprised if we'll get Trapper not being able to trap vaults, Wraith not being able to uncloak within a certain range of gens and hooks, and doctor not being able to use his power when in range of a busy survivor in ch23 or such.
Probably the main idea is to give both sides fair chances to win without being steamrolled. Spirit was a train that crush average survivors, so they nerfed her. Mb too strong, but something had to be done because everyone hated stand still guess play. Deathslinger hit was huge, but instant aim+shot wasn't actually something interesting to face. I hope they don't revert his change, but buff him in some different way. For ranged killer who could hide his TR it was busted.
I'm currently wondering why do they even think that Nurse needs a buff and whos great idea to give her 3 blinks.
As for survivor side, yes, it's currently relatively easy to escape, but mostly i think that cause efficient survivors with items are very very powerful. Even if u run full meta build 4 man squad, it's incomparable with same squad but with 4 items fully addon equiped.

I don't understand what's suspicious. My play time availability is usually around 5pm-1am EST, if that has anything to do with it. During these times, survivor queue gradually gets longer and longer, while killer queue gets faster.
Maybe it's just a case of who's available in the queue, but I spent 2 hours on the survivor side last night before giving up, with only 3 escapes (2 by myself as last survivor) and the rest being 5 and 4 gen games despite our best efforts.
As far as quitting, at least as survivor if I want to leave I just AFK and don't struggle on hook. As killer, I've been getting, consistently, teams that have 2 gens done before I'm even able to get a down. Then they sit there and flashlight me even when I go stand in a corner to give up. At that point I'll say ######### it and DC, then go play something else.
As I understand it, wasn't each killer supposed to have a separate skill rating behind the scenes? To encourage people to try new killers and improve? If that's the case, it's not working. Lol.
U get a bit lower than your current mmr when u try new killer. It is made so u didn't stomp babies. Cause average killer don't need perks or anything else to beat new players. So don't expect 1h players when u try something new.
Also if u get good matches and kill everyone it rises your mmr. And if we talk about *improving* then it requires time to actually learn killer and get good at it. It is expected to loose when u try something new. And even if u are #1 X killer main and you are best player in the world i doubt u can't get a game where u kill anyone.
As for survivors it's not very much i can tell u. From my side, i escape mb 50/50 or 60/40 my games with other Random players. So it's completely different for me. That's why I assume there's something wrong on your side.

What do u need bp for? Unless your goal is to p3 every single character, it's very overestimated currency.

Predictably they wondered why I was salty after match and told me "just don't get downed next time".
Can these people empathize with other human beings? Do they not consider at all they're playing with other real life people too?
So u choose to run on forum because u had bad game? Wow. Impressed.
No, Devs won't shoot in their foot cause punishing players playing together is bad idea.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not seeing the supposed benefits of the new skill-based system...
I'm trying to play killers which I know I'm not good at, that I rarely play, in hopes to get "baby" survivors at my level to improve my skill. Instead, I'm getting boosted gold and iridescent "rank 1s" that genrush and leave me with 1 hook if I'm lucky. Since I was focused on the survivor side of the tomes first, my killer rank is only Ash II.
When I switch back to survivor, where I'm currently sitting at Gold, I get teammates who have no idea what they're doing and iridescent killers that keep us from getting even 2 gens done. If I could still de-pip, I'd be back to rank 20 by now, because even in matches where I carry everyone, I'm not progressing any longer.
Am I missing something? Am I doing something wrong? Why am I getting absolutely spanked by the opposing side when the whole point of the new system is to match players of similar skill? It's gotten to a point where I'm happy to DC out of frustration just so I'm forced to play something solo that I'll actually enjoy.
There's something suspicious in your story. If u are actually so good survivor u will be matched with same level survivors and killers. And there's no way u only meet bad teammates that don't know what gens are. So i doubt it's always their fault.
Also do you dc or suicide as survivor cause u are tilted or whatever as you dc when playing killer? Because i think that's the case cause u ruin your mmr and drop to elo hell. And more u tilt/dc/ whatever more u drop.
And again rank means nothing. I'm currently one step away from gold as Legion player, and it's quite easy to climb. And it took me less than 10 hours to get from ash to silver. But I'm so bored to play killer so i stopped *climbing* and switched to survivor.

Game sense. As a newer Spirit, the survivors always knew where I was. Obviously with more experience, I could get a little more creative to make that more difficult for them, but this is objectively a noob survivor problem by definition.
So picture this. I know u are coming after me and i don't see u. Which side should i take left or right? Guessing is bad by definition. Now she has proper audio mechanic so i have something to play around.
It doesn't matter how many hours u have or how lucky u are, it was bad mechanic and i hope they won't revert it.

The only issue with her rn is that Iron Will, an already powerful perk, can be used to make it even more difficult to catch a survivor while phasing in chase. Calm Spirit's ability to counter Doc is fine because it's generally a below-average perk.
I'd say just lock injured noises to 50% or 100% during phasing so that it isn't affected by Iron Will or Stridor.
If u are afraid to miss survivor u have addon that shows u survivor heartbeat.

Yeah damn, those 2 meter extra distance are insaaaane. Like, I can't even believe sprint burst exists it covers so much more distance.
Fr, it's not that crazy. Yes dead hard allows you to squeeze out one more loop or so. But let's not forget that this is all dead hard can do. Sprint burst, lithe, balanced etc allow you to get from any unsafe area into a safe area. So much better. And let's not forget 99ING sprint burst.
Yes it is. U can dash into pallet or window and killer can't do anything about it cause u are invulnerable. That's guaranteed another 20sec - forever chase depending on map design and loop spawns. Sprint isn't even close strong. It's not press to win button and u need to time it to actually make a strong play and during it u either walk, or run till killer finds u. In both scenarios u don't do gens.

As a 5 year long Killer main, I can no longer play this one sided game. For every killer buff, theres 3 nerfs. And the flow of the game is always heavily survivor sided. I get completely bored to death bullying killers playing as a survivor. Look at this newest patch for an example, "make killers stronger patch"? not really. they are nerfing several adons and butchering death slinger into F tier. "trickster buff" last patch.. not really. they nerfed several things on him at the same time and they did not address tricksters true issue (movement speed). I understand that 75% of the player base is survivor only players, truly i get that. But theres reasons for that. No one wants the stress of playing killer and survivor is insanely easier. Survivors get insanely strong perks and killers get "I hope this slows the gens down" perks... Its lame. Killers have to patrol generators which is nearly impossible for most of the killer characters already and now the killers have to search for totems or suffer that wrath too? Like... Disgusting. I for one, enjoy the mmr system, but without being able to track it, I have no reason to keep playing this game. I waited 5 years for the devs to change the flow of the game to be more even sided and they refused because of the 75% playing survivor only. "Make the the 75% happy"? Ya well. part of your 25% is walking out on you. part of your 1% High mmr is walking out on you
Game is balanced around casual players, that's the story.

Since we are discussing tunneling I want to show u one picture. It's a game I literally had 5 min ago. Before reading what's under picture, what do u think is it tunneling or not?
And now the backstory:
We all started in random spots and killer had Corrupt perk, so we were forced to move. I run into main building and start repairing gen. Claudette player (the one who died) run into me and then killer found us, and he choose to chase me. I did 2 circles around main building and run away with 99% Sprint Burst. So the killer switched on her and got her. He put her on hook and went away. By that time team did 2 gens and survivors went to save her while i returned into main building and repaired gen. While i was repairing gens, i saw following picture: Claudette player was saved and killer didn't tunnel her, and went for another guy. And when another guy managed to drop him, killer went for someone else. And guess who he found and who got down in less than 20 sec?
So main question is: Guess who is guilty in after game chat?

You don't seem to really grasp the spirit of the question. I'm not trying to attack anyone for tunneling; it's their choice to do so. I'm trying to understand why they would want to get to high mmr as fast as possible.
I play both sides, so I do understand the need to be efficient when the chips are down. Baby Survivors and Baby Killers aren't at all what I expect, and I don't expect them to stay at low skill forever. However, there are survivors and killers of average to above average skill in between baby and high mmr.
It's in human nature to compete. Even if u destined to loose, u want to try out and fight for win. And since killer goal is to kill, player search for most optimal way for their playstyle/perk choice to do it. It same goes for survivors.

You said intentionally losing isn't an option, I presented you with a way to make you more likely to lose the game, and to thus make sure you don't reach high mmr.
If the survivors use meta perks and play in a SWF it should help you lose and avoid reaching high MMR.
I'm a killer main, my dude, I know the struggle of wanting to win, but not wanting to face death squads.
I originally swapped my gen regression perks so the devs can get data about what gameplay looks like when there are no regression perks in play, and maybe make some base changes to make things better for killers.
It morphed into this strategy which should make me a better killer by not relying on perks or add-ons to carry me, while also by nature of the beast, losing more and preventing my MMR from going to the no-fun zone
So u offer me a loose-loose scenario while u keep your win-win? Nice try. I don't use perks like ruin undying too, but if u are killer player, then u should understand that at some point u have to kill. And between 0 hook and 2 hook survivor I'm choosing second one cause otherwise game ends too fast.
-
@PanicSquid said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2531496#Comment_2531496
I am not suggesting being AFK nor letting the survivors live, I am suggesting you run non-meta perks and bad add-ons, and mix that with non-optimal strategies to allow you to play the game, at a significant disadvantage, which will increase the odds that you lose the match and naturally decreasing your mmr.
Tl;dr bring bad perks and bad add-ons, "play fair" and be more likely to lose the game.
Force every single survivor to stop playing in SWF, don't pick DS, DH, unbreakable and other meta perks and we can talk again.
-
@Kaitsja said:

See, efficiency is only necessary at high mmr. It's not really necessary at lower mmr where the survivors aren't as skilled. The intention of my post is to understand why tunneling seems to be the norm now when rank no longer matters, and your hidden mmr is based on how well you performed in regards to your objective.
Your answer is simple. When u launch a game u expect yourself win, not standing afk while someone else plays the game and not being a toy in other players hands. And to win killers need to pressure survivors. Since survivors can 3 gen u in less than 80sec, u need to kill someone early cause it very very frustrating to play on 1-2 gens left with 4 man alive.
And about efficiency. More u play, better u become, so eventually u will get better and game will face u against better players. If u expect everyone to stuck at baby level, then it's not how it works. I don't think u enjoy playing against baby killers too.
-
@Clowning said:
I think that now, more than ever, many Killers feel they do not have any control over the game and camping is the only way for them to take that control back.
And I'm not gonna lie to you, often times when I'm playing a C or D tier Killer against an efficient group of Survivors, I know that by leaving the hooked person to go chase looper69420 I'm lowering my chances to "win", while ensuring Survivors have more fun. The only thing that genuinely sucks about that, is the fact they often have zero appreciation for this and they're more than happy to let you know how much better they are than you in every way, to the point it no longer surprises me some Killers play the way they do.
This exactly. Those who play only one side, don't care about why another does it. Survivor mains just ask anything to stop killer from doing his job.
-
@PanicSquid said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2531449#Comment_2531449
You can intentionally lose, just unequip your slowdown perks, equip some meme perks and add-ons and just play normally.
For extra flavor go out of your way to "play fair". Don't slug, camp, or tunnel. Then when 4 survivors escape, you still "lose", but you could still play the game to have fun.
You know your suggestion is bad? U basically asking killer to stay afk until survivors do their job. What's the point to play killer then?
And where fun comes from if u intentionally let everyone away? If u think starting a game with mindset *Ok, this one i will loose* is good option, then u don't understand what are u asking for.

I'm not saying killers shouldn't try to kill survivors, I'm saying I don't understand why you would want to be in a hurry to reach high mmr for games that are simply not fun.
Even if u play chill u eventually reach high mmr, cause some survivors just suicide on u. So what do u suggest them to do, intentionally loosing is not an option.

Sometimes I get really tough games and end up on losing streak on survivor/killer but it seems that my oponents/teammates either stay similar skill wise or they get even stronger which is kinda weird.
It's hard to tell cause not everyone plays for win, so when u 4k chill players u might suddenly get swf that's play for win. Without actual MMR it's more of a guess who will be your next opponent.

We all know Boon Totems are coming up and most people will be running this perk in their builds. So I was wondering what would be the best way to play with teammates who use this build?
Then I had a thought!
Introducing the Nancy/Jill Totem Eater Squad!
Here's what you can do for the first week of boon totems being out:
- Play as Nancy/Jill (or even more dastardly, the new Survivor)
- Bring totem hunting perks (Detective's Hunch would be good but you'd want to get to these totems before anyone else, I heavily suggest getting Small Game and Counterforce alongside Inner Strength and Bond. Bond is to help you race survivors looking for totems as well.)
- Destroy absolutely every totem in the map. Not only to get rid of NOED or other hexes but also to leave the Boon Totem user with no totems to work with.
- In the end game chat, once you've finished stealing every totem in the map. Tell them you had a challenge to do.
- Repeat.
Remember to have fun.
Your fun. ;)
I'm not evil but BP is a BP, and since I'm not going to run boon perks, I will destroy totems cause BP and badge are worth doing it.

Other Hex like Ruin / Undying that activated since the beginning so its not really affected. If they find the Hex, they cleanse it anyway, that little thing is beside losing Hex, they add something that you have to pay time to snuff. Im more worry about Noed that all Dulls become Boon and Noed will not triggered. The perk is already a risk to use.
I don't think NOED will be useless. In games where all 5 totems are cleaned it doesn't work but it doesn't happen very often and i doubt something about it will change. And if survivors will bless all 1-5, result will be same. NOED risk-reward is not going anywhere. Problem is the fear behind it. Currently killers running NOED know majority ignore totems so they are pretty sure NOED will proc. And now with fear that it might not proc, it's a complete different story.

There is no communication in solo queue two people can stop doing gens and make their way to the hook and get nothing accomplished.
Just because it hasn't happened to you doesn't mean it's not happening large scale dude. And not everyone is going to be okay with sitting on a hook the entire game. A majority of those people will just not even struggle dude, cmon..
Yeah, it's possible, but also it's possible they don't come. (For example i don't move an inch if i see killer is camping or not patrolling or whatever unless i feel i can save u and need your help) Are u going to blame your teammates if they trade u for some reason? Based on your logic it's also unfair and scummy. I agree camping killer isn't funniest thing to face, but it's a viable strat and until devs tell otherwise u should adapt to it too.

That's a good start but it's only active during the struggle phase and the killer can still just wait it out.
And let's be honest, who in the solo queue is going to take that perk.
I personally never had such a problem, at least in your way. If i see killer does something like camping it's a win-win scenario even if I'm on hook. Cause while i buy as much time as possible, they do gens and I hope they leave killer with nothing cause they see killer is camping. (I run Kindred)
So on part where u are asking for solutions it won't work the way u think. I don't care if puppies camp me.

We lose the offerings and add ons anyway so why are punished twice by having a temporary lock, it's been several matches where the killer just downs everyone and didn't pick anyone up until the entity took us one by one from hooks, the matchmaking system is even worse now. If I get 5 bad toxic matches in a row and decide to just leave it adds up and can easily be locked out for a good 20 minutes, that's not fair. You shouldn't punish survivors for wanting to leave trash matches where we're camped or slugged and tunneled the entirety of the match. I know DBD is toxic on both ends as I killer main I know that, but it is harder for survivors that want a good match because other than dropping pallets, gen rushing and teabagging but what real advantage do they have as far as toxic to where it cause a killer to disconnect.
If camping and slugging is a disaster then gen rush is same. I rly wish devs force all survivor mains to play killer. At least u will understand what u talk about.

There's a perk that freezes timer if your teammate is nearby. Try out Camaraderie if everyone camps u.

No. The two Boon Perks aren't nearly as strong as people were making them out to be (who would'a thought).
The first one gives you double healing speed when within 28 meters of your Boon totem, and lets you heal without a Medkit.
The second hides your scratch marks and auras when within 28 meters of your Boon totem, and lasts for four seconds after leaving that range.
Neither are that great, because they're heavily restricted by having to be near your Boon totem. I do like the idea of being able to 'set up camp' per se, by moving your blessed totem to a new area to give yourself an opportunity to heal in peace.
U miss one thing. It's not 28m, it's 56m from edge to edge cause it's a bubble. And 56m is a lot especially when there are loops nearby. Also healing stacks, so u can heal yourself while killer break 2 pallets, and t-bag him.

Boon totems in the PTB allow survivors to continuously keep igniting boon totems so long as there are dull totems but killer cant do that with hex totems. These boon totems are also in situational regards (like the we'll make it boon for self heals) SIGNIFICANTLY better than hex totems so why do surv get to continuously boon totems but killer cannot continuously hex totems?
If someday they buff Hex, before that happens nerf Devour Hope hex. It will be Op tier. Like make it loose stacks if it gets destroyed.

Maybe it is OP. But instead of just posting random comments, go and prove it by playing games.
What do i need to prove u? That killer has to randomly figure out where am I? Or hope im close enough to hear my footsteps?
And if he leaves to clean boon, i already won.

Prove me a 56m bubble that makes me invisible isn't broken and I will calm down. Cause as i mentioned in other topic u can put boon in main building and loop forever.

I don't know what it is, but when I play survivor I have killers harassing me moreso than the other survivors and the other survivors are teaming up with the killer against me.
3 out of the 4 matches I have played today so far have been this way.
Maybe they recognize my name from when I play killer (I play that role mostly lately), and they want some payback?
Let me hide my name so I don't get unfairly treated.
I don't think it's personal. I can't even imagine players who do something like * Oh this player killed me, i will write down his name and mb someday i avenge myself*. It's like u met bunch of trolls.

Last timw Devs released solely a Survivor we got Ash Williams and Mettle of Man, one of the most broken perks ever released. Than destroyed a month after everyone bought him in a clear showing that it was only released for a quick cash grab.
Now look at the new Survivors boon perks. Let's all wait a month.
They are going to introduce boon totems. It should be broken or no-one will buy it.
