I don't want to abuse the punishment at all. I just suggest an additional feedback method.

I'm not talking about u, I'm about those people who will ragequit and then choose something like *he is cheating* and it doesn't matter if it's true or not. They quit and will cry about no punishment because they 100% tell u truth even if they don't.

    Hi everyone,

    Heard about the new dc-punishment.

I think that's a great idea, but sometimes a dc is with good purpose. For example: leaving game due to a hacker or absolutely inhuman behavior.

Would be nice to have an opportunity beside "leave match" to choose "leave match with purpose".

Maybe afterwards a selection shows up, where you could select something like:

    • Bug abuse
    • -> Note or selection box
    • Cheater
    • -> player selection and description
    • Unsportsmanlike behavior
    • -> player selection and description

Have a great day being killed or kill ;)

It wont work as u suggest. People will abuse it no matter what to escape punishment.

Who thought it was a good idea to create a map that is essentially a difficult-to-navigate, multi-level maze? I cannot understand what the designers of this map were thinking, or how it was released in it's current form.

The other multi-level maps are organized in a way where you can figure out how to get to a destination. It's possible to find a flight of stairs or a hole in the floor, and move in the direction of an objective.

In Raccoon City you see auras that appear close, but navigating to them is a convoluted mess. There are multiple dead ends. There are only a few vault locations, making certain perks almost useless. Are we expected to memorize the floor plan to make this map playable? This map feels like an April Fools joke on the players.

I suggest the map be removed completely. At least give us an option to removing it from our personal rotation.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but your problem is that u refuse to learn map and instead of *git gut* u choose to drop it.

What a honorable teammate. I hope i never meet u in my games.

  • Disagree. While Noed is strong late game if u don't intentionally suicide on killer he won't make more than 1 kill. And as survivor your game goal is to escape, not save everyone. (Read game description).

Also i don't agree it encourages bad players. It's more like they either kill u without it because they 3 perk most of the game ( so they are in disadvantage) or pick cause their chosen killer has no other option to secure a kill.

  • @Clowning said:

It's because new accounts start at an average, base value of MMR, I imagine. Which is really funny, because I doubt people will have the best impression of the game when they have to lose several games in a row without fully understanding why.

It's because it requires less than 20 hours to get 4 purple perks. Unless you judge by hours u can't tell is it new player or no. So hoping to get a no perk lobby is pointless.

  • Can we stop speculate and panic and stop spamming same posts all around without actually having any information about changes?

  • @adirgeforthedead said:

I will never agree that camping and tunnelling are legitimate strategies to win, but ultimately everyone is free to play however they wish and I'm no one to tell you what's right and what's wrong.

I just hope they eventually get teams that demolish them so they get a taste of what it feels like to ruin the gameplay of other players.

It's exactly where such killers come from. When survivors run all over and ask every killer nerf to make game *easy and fair*, while they all abuse DS, DH, BT, IW, COMS (SWF) and other meta perks it suddenly end up some killers just fall off and went into dirty tactics cause they just can't pull off 12 hook play. And now u blame them for doing so?

It's a legit tactic that has counterplay and it has nothing to do with your morals. But if u are so high on morals, then push every survivor out from running meta perks and swf, cause if u are so good and moral sided u should understand it's not one-sided problem.

To be fair, they could just make dull totems a different aura. I run a shaman build on my Plague because I leveled her to 34 and somehow got Haunted, Ruin, and Undying on her. Best stuff I have. When I spawn in, I can more or less see every totem spot but one. Obviously if I got another hex, I could run that instead of corrupt and see all 5 at the start.

If I were allowed to walk to the "best" spawn, Ruin would definitely last longer than 15 seconds. And placing it safely could become a skill. Like, if survivors Ruin check, see nothing, and Ruin activates, one of them saw me around the Library in RPD... Well, they got me!

It would be a nice buff to stealth killers and buff some perks like Whispers. Idk. At least if they cleanse fast I have myself to blame. I prefer that.

And where would u go on open maps? U can trick survivors in closed map, but i doubt it will work on open ones.

  • @Nameless said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2522490#Comment_2522490

Only the effects of Hex perks aren't always there at the start of the game. It's always lit and can be broken, but that doesn't mean it's active or you get immediate use out of it at the start of the game: Devour Hope and Retribution for example. Neither is there a real con on the survivors side because there are other survivors doing work while you're looking for a good totem spot. Also, the way I see this going is that there is no real need for the survivors to really hide the totem either. They just put it on the totem where all gens are done and voila the killer will now have to waste his time going to a location where no one is and thus can't pressure anyone.

I'll be honest, I didn't really look into the new changes to the game too much so I don't really know the effects of boon totems (maybe they're not even known as of yet), but if those effects are going to be strong enough to force the killers hand to actually look for it, then being able to place a boon totem at a spot where the killer has no real business is going to have massive impact on the game.

Overall, I don't really see why only one side should be able to choose the location of their totem and in my opinion there are way more cons to having RNG choose a location for the totem rather than yourself. Not to mention that the survivors have several methods of being able to choose a good totem spot really quickly by using maps or specific perks like Detectives Hunch. But maybe having both sides being able to pick a location is their plan going forward and they're just trying it out on survivors first.

It won't work on killer. Any survivor can find out where killer placed his totem based on his terror radius. Picture this - u went into basement or shack on on 2nd floor or any other place we already did gen, there's literally nothing there u need to defend, so i can assume u placed your hex there.

On other side, if u don't pressure early on, gens will fly away.

  • @blankfaced said:

Faster than if it spawned where it is in the image? That's literal nonsense.

    image.png

I'm sorry it's inaccurate, I'm not used to draw but RNG is better option than totems guarantee not to spawn near Gens. In this picture u can see that if survivors know where exactly totems can spawn they will clear them just by moving. And spawning on totem or 20 sec totem cleansed won't disappear and will actually happen even more often.

Currently unless it's right on your face, u can run pass and didn't even figure out u missed it.

  • To be fair, survivors don't know what killer u pick, and on other side if u see a lot of Jills or full flashlight lobby mb it's not best idea to pick Wraith? Because there are mb 1-2 possible flashlight in chests and it's not a disaster if they find them.

  • @D3spair said:

Okay why does Survivor get to pick their totem spots for their Boon Totems then if its supposed to be random?

I didn't saw it in practice, so i can't tell u how it will work. If u want to discuss something on paper, I'm not best at it.

If they're listening to you while you move, they can still respond to it. Your movement isn't silent when you're invisible, and neither is your breathing.

U can hear Wraith breathing moving from 30m distance? Cause otherwise if he comes close enough he spots u and it doesn't matter do u hear him or no.

  • People don't complain about Nurse as much as it was about Spirit. And after MMR hit majority don't face Nurse players. If not everyone, then majority hated face check mind game and inability to understand is she phasing or not.

If anything will be nerfed after Spirit, i think it will be Wraith will wallhack addons. I don't think it will be Nurse or Blight.

Very cool totem spot BHVR, No Survivors will ever find it.

It's called random. U can't just make totems spawn only in hidden areas or outside of gen radius. When survivors figure out totems can't spawn near gens or in open field they will find them even faster.

  • I'm playing Kate and not going into anyone else. First of all she is quiet and it's important for me, cause before Kate I played Meg, and she is so loud i wanted to kill her myself. Secondary she looks nice and i do rly enjoy how she looks.

  • @jajay119 said:

When BHVR can tell the difference between a network drop and a disconnect I'll agree but until then no.

I don't see why killers complain about this. It counts as a kill for you and It's more annoying as survivor because you now have to do everything with only three of you when it wasn't needed.

Also, the recent influx of killers DCing as soon as the match starts is getting rediculous too. But it's just the way it is.

Any thoughts on how to hack others players life to see do they unplugged their cable intentionally or it was internet error? Because your idea sounds crazy.

  • @Dr_Loomis said:

I would like to have it so all perks are kept when upgrading a character, but add-ons and offerings are lost. That would be far more reasonable.

And make everything on the bloodweb require less Bloodpoints. 100-200 points from a daily and a couple of Rift challenges doesn't take you far at all.

Blood web prices are fine. What's actually bad about it is most of the offered is useless. I would rly like to take out all offerings and half item addons. When i spend BP on survivor it feels like 90% of bp i burn for nothing. I have hundreds of flashlight addons while i have no flashlights and same goes with meds and toolbox. Same goes to map offerings. I would be rly happy to trade them all for meds and toolboxes.

  • I think Ruin needs to be passive but much weaker version. It will allow people to run whatever they want build and still have a chance to kill. I kinda understand why killers don't enjoy running all over and hitting every gen.

  • I hope they rework pallet break into passive, so let them touch it <3

I was referring to when killers wont do anything else bud defend their 3 gen the whole match,so I dont think this is a matter of survivors screwing up.

Why so? If killer wants to defend gen he has to force u run away, by that time your teammates repair gen on opposite side, so when he leaves u return to gen. Do it multiple times and gen is done. That's how it works.

  • @Adaez said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2520969#Comment_2520969

I'm saying even if you waited until you complete other gens, you still cant complete a 3gen one if the killer guards it and wont leave.

U can, i don't say it will be easy but 3-4 survivors will do it. Cause killer can't chase all of them. Not to mention map size. On big one's it's even easier.

  • @Adaez said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2520961#Comment_2520961

Not sure what you're referring to since I never said that.

If killer is left with 3 gens on one side it's survivors fault not his. And making mistakes and blaming wrong side won't help u.

Split up and do gens on each side, not a single killer can chase all 4 survivors same time.

  • @Adaez said:

If the killer guards a 3 gen,its near impossible to finish the last one,how is this fair?

For example in the Sanctum of Wrath,if the killer guards the generators on one side of the map,you basically cant finish them especially if its againts a Bubba.

Damn u are right. Killer should be gentle and move away, and it would be even better if he opens gate and let's u go

Baby killer! Can't even stop survivors from escaping at 5 gens!

On a serious note what kind of person logs into a game to literally press the win button without playing the game?

Imagine that cheater literally started the game, went into queue and then into the loading screen just to instantly press their escape button when the match started.

A really special mentality to say the least.

Probably booster? I don't see any other reason than boosting characters and Bp.

Edit deux: which killers would take over the mantle(if any)?

I don't play any of them so nothing changes to me. But if devs take something away i want something is return.

  • Unless u feel like u can go 12 hooks play, u need to kill one guy in first 2-3 gens and then kill another one to keep pressure. Yeah, i know not everyone is happy to die so fast but otherwise efficient survivors just pop all 5 gens and run away leaving u with nothing.

take your survivor rulebook and go play killer. I would rly like see your results with your way of thinking especially when u realize that only one side mains know nothing about other side but think they are good enough to judge.

  • How big mind game it is to find someone with wallhack?

  • I guess it depends on luck. I mostly get players that either gg me or keep quiet. So can't say everyone is toxic.

  • Gameplay wise i don't like - Wraith. It's probably easiest killer that requires no mind games. Just pick wallhack addons and run them to death.

As for lore - I'm not a killer fan so nothing interesting there for me.

You know, honestly if im on dead hook and killer is going after me and i have a key, my teammates would be somewhere on the bottom list of my priorities. Also i don't get it how it screw others? When killer closes hatch, game collapse starts so u can open gate and run away.

if he is tunneling you, you are gone move on the next match pretty fast, if you are not good at looping.

I don't mind tunneling, because I like chases.

but if you DC sooner, then he actually kills you, because you are upset that you are going to die, you are usually only helping that killer and screwing teammate, so you definetly deserve DC penalty.

So u suggest all 4 to dc because one of them is unhappy? It sounds nuts.

  • Killer shouldn't be abused and held hostage. I vote for no map offerings at all.

  • Mostly im happy. I don't mind if i meet someone new or bad or whatever cause I'm not perfect too, but mostly I'm happy. My escape rate skyrocket after MMR hit.

Before that i used to play with people who Dc on first hook, or dc cause they don't like map or killer or whatever other reason or suicide because survivor didn't run to save them in first 3 sec which is rare now.

I love how you twist my words into something I didn't say.

I didn't say I 'don't want' to escape/kill - I said I don't sweat my ass off to do this at any cost. If I get nice amount of points, it's my personal win. I play for fun actions, builds etc. Holding M1 and crouching in bushes just to escape with 10k points isn't why I play this game.

I didn't say that casual mode should be the only one - let's have two - rank mode with proper leaderboards, more rewards etc and casual, for those that don't want to count every second, sweat and tryhard at the expense of fun.

I didn't say skill vs skill is bad. I said like 10 times that if you are a sweaty tryhard, then stop complaining, you're there for a reason and that's fine, you're good and you finally are facing good players.

My point was simple - I don't get whining about high MMR. I played other games competitively and it's, arguably, NOT fun. Playing high level in MTG feels like a chore, like any other card game, same with PUBG and I'm sure it's like that with DBD. But that's the thing - it's not my problem. It's nobody's problem. If you want to jack off at your 'high MMR' then it's your problem that games are not fun at this level. That's with every game.

I can't read your mind so i didn't twist anything. I assume you don't want to sweat which i understand as u don't want to try win. And same goes to u. U don't know me and my goals. If anything i want from mmr it's to face equal opponents no casual mode where games are completely one sided and I don't have a single chance if im unlucky with lobby.

Im sure u would agree that lobbies where pros and casuals play together are much worse than those where everyone equally skilled.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2519128#Comment_2519128

Games are mostly balanced around majority of the players. Yes, there are changes that aim to fix balance issues around top tiers/tournaments, but overall game is being balanced around the overall statistics. And stats are reliable the more data you have and do you have more data from 1% or 99% of the playerbase? If MTG: Arena was being balanced around competitive players, than Nexus of Fate wouldn't get banned and in Hearthstone also many other nerfs/buffs wouldn't happen. Tarkov is balanced around overall opinion, not about opinion of 0.5% of the playerbase, they have to adjust to the changes, not other way around.

Plus, I think you're confusing top tier/tournament players with decent/good players. I don't play LoL, but I'm sure the game is balanced around statistics they get from like 'decent' ranks. Yes, game is not being balanced around 'baby players', but I think you forget there's a long road between 'silver players' and top tier/tournament players.

I don't see where I'm wrong about MMR? That you should stop whining if you are so high? I stand by it. Again - years of being competitive MTG player - no one forced me to play like that, no one forced me to do tournaments. But when I do... I kind of have to adapt and play what's good in that environment. That's how it goes in every game; in casual mode you can mess around, have fun, play super funny builds and cards, but once you try to get to tournament level... you ditch fun deck that sometimes works and play something meta, strong and consistent.

Also no - I don't throw games on purpose, I just play and have fun. If there are players that sweat their asses, count each millisecond, because some actions are 'nOt oPtIMaL', tryhard as hell to get 4k, escape at all cost, even if they don't have fun, but they need to 'win'... sorry, but that's not my problem and they shouldn't complain the game is not fun for them. It's a gamestyle they pick. When I played MTG tournaments were also not really that fun, especially in comparison to fun matches with my friends, with actual FUN decks.

Maybe they should introduce actual leaderboards, so sweaty players could see themselves climbing that and also casual mode, with no ranking, no MMR, no rewards at the end of the month.

There was casual mode before MMR and everyone complained they faced either hell strong killer or babies with less than 10h. It was literally 3 weeks ago. If u revert it back, crying won't stop. Now devs finally made somethin close to skill vs skill and suddenly those who enjoyed beating babies start to cry like they can't do it anymore. Otherwise i don't see a problem in chilling or whatever u understand behind it. If u don't want to escape or kill then just run all over map and do whatever u want, but don't ask beating babies casual mode.

So just use perks to fix problem with the game? That’s some good design.

Then again killer is the exact same

Isn't it same why people use DS DH BT, to get some advantages? Currently i don't feel like i need some sort of buff when i soloQ survivor and i run (Bt, Kindred, Spine, Sprint). It's not meta and I still escape more than half my games. If u give me passive kindred it will just free space for something strong.

While i think ping system with icons near your avatar would be awesome, i doubt inbuilt kindred won't make survivors unbeatable.

  • @Sluzzy said:

In what other game does one side have such a massive advantage? I woke up this morning to try a build against the Ruin/Undying that killer mains says "counters it completely". This is proof there is no counter and it is false. I spent almost 5 minutes looking for these totems even with half of my build devoted to the secondary objective. In almost every match, it is either the last totem or next to the last totem that was Ruin. In this example, by the time Ruin is removed, survivors are sacrificed. They couldn't do the objective. Here we have a map where totems are hard to find and when the totems are gone, you see what you have. A killer that easily won because of perks. 5 gens still remaining and two is actually dead. If this isn't broken I don't know what is.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/S5KL3BK90VUB/badly-broken.png

5 min is enough to do all gens, so u basically confirm u were 5 min afk and it was 3v1 where killer crushed them.

  • 1. Completety broken. If u double the time it will end up with 4K every game without a slightest chance to escape.

    2. Read 1

    3. Hatch is completely fine as long as it's last survivor. What i actually think is unfair that entire team can escape with hatch.

Look I love my occasional sweaty games but not everyone plays for that and SBMM is just one big middle finger to anyone who wants to play casually and for fun. I've stopped playing since the new matchmakings release and I don't intend to play until it's either removed or improved because I just can't have fun with new matchmaking. If I play against worse killers I get camped and tunnelled for looping and if I play against good killers I have no chance at winning because my team mates don't do anything. I just want to have some fun games where I'm not going against sweaty Spirits and Nurses because that's all I get now.

U know what i don't like about your attitude. I never saw someone on this forum admits he did bad. It's always - *Oh my, my teammates are bad and I'm godlike survivor. I don't want to play good cause it's hard (which is weird, if u are so good u should be able to escape anyway) and helping my teammates is not about me*.

  • @Nomadd said:

This is just typical crying, just like survivors cry about perks/killers and think they should be able to escape every single match - killer mains are doing the same thing; complaining about survivors' perks, thinking they should be able to 4K each match. You're not different than entitled survivor, you're just on the different team.

Oh and by the way, I absolutely love the 'high MMR' discussion. But you know what? No game ever will (nor should) be balanced around your top tier. If you truly are in the top tier, you're there for a reason, on your own demand and well... you gotta work with what's meta. But top tier is what? 5% of players? Bit more, bit less, but still VAST majority of players are not top tier and never ever will be. I don't know what's my MMR (by the way how do you know people know you have the 'highest'? Is there a way to check it? xD) I'm definitely a casual player and I seriously wouldn't want to play the game that would've been balanced around top 5% of tryhard sweaty players. No casual player would like that. And casual players are the majority, vast majority of this game. Any game.

And going back to playing on high level - what exactly do you even expect? Have you played any other game on high level? You know, I've been playing MTG for like 15 years, 4-5 years I played competitively, going on tournaments etc. And you think I was able to play some 'fun' cards and decks? No! If you're on that level, you play the best of the best, most overpowered cards that are allowed, you go for the win, so yeah, you play meta. It's boring, but that's the 'price' of playing competitively. When I play with friends, I play something that's actually more fun, but something that in competitive matches would've totally lost me the game.

So... again - if you're at the top of MMR, stop complaining about it, no one forces you to hit highest MMR and if you are there, you play meta, that's how every game works.

U are wrong. Every competitive game is balanced around top tier/tournament level players. None cares about babies whining about balance. Do u rly think League is balanced around silver players? Dota? Sc2? etc....

Dbd greatest problem is we don't have proper player statistics so we can't judge who is right and who is wrong and what perks they use. So it end up all about players crying all over. But also there are things vast majority agrees(example: Nurse is great against SWF and Trapper is useless).

Also u are wrong about MMR. Unless u intentionally throw game after game and refuse to become better at any cost, eventually u will become better, so suggesting to throw games on purpose is bad idea.

  • What's wrong with willing to escape players? U want to win, so do they Reverting it into beating babies mode isn't healthy at all.

  • His buff encourages basement camp even more, u don't need to waste time to gather traps, just track down survivor and hope basement is close.. So i expect Trapper with basement addons.

  • Needs *Both* options.

  • @nh1ze said:

I dont want to use ruin and pop.

So I'm thinking about Thanatophobia perk, so I'm asking a question.

Do you have any other proper genrush perk that works for these two?

No it's bad. Survivors don't want to be injured by all means against Oni, so your thana won't work most of the time. Also it requires a lot of time to actually injure all 4 survivors as Oni so i not recommend using it.

If u have 1 free perk slot, try using Surge. U can down survivor very fast so it's will always proc once it's on cooldown.

Exactly! As killer, I had sweaty games with multiple slowdowns and then... Just for experiment... I removed all gen slowdowns... Guess what, after a few losses, I'm at the same win/loss ratio, but my games are more varied and fun now.

Do i understand correctly, u suggest players to loose on purpose so they get less skilled opponents (It's how MMR works) and stop whining about balance? Imagine u suggest same in other competitive games, u would be immediately fired. Picture this - Hi folks! I know u can't win as terran and top 70 world players are zergs, but just let it go, play for fun.

Same goes here. Spirit/Nurse/ and Blight are considered strongest killers to go against SWF, and someone like Clown, Trapper or Legion is considered as very bad to go against SWF. Since swf is common in this game and u will face it most of your games as kiiler how u can have fun with underperforming killer? Wait till u get weak enough SWF so u can get some kills or push everyone to play same 3 killers?

Dude, with all respect u can't be serious and u miss one big point: every single player no matter how good or bad he is wants to have a chance for 4k or escape against same level players. Suggesting them to take non-meta perks and loose on purpose so they could have fun beating babies is very bad advice.
