There are a total of 27 survivor characters available in the game, each of which adds 3 optional survivor skills to the blood web. So theoretically there are 27 X 3 = 81 skills, plus some survivor skills that appear on all characters' blood web.
Guess which of these skills the survivors you meet in matches will choose?
In the ranked matches all the survivor choices are focused on a few skills , (Borrowed Time, Irron will, Dead Hard, The Cat, Self-Care), and that's it, the rest survivor skills are designed to look like the fourth pointer on a clock.
The balance made with my toes would be better than this.
Iron will is bit better than mediocre perk cause once u hit survivor u can track him by blood and scrath marks, Spine Chills isn't even top tier perk. Yes, it's good but nothing special, Self-Care is garbage perk. Meds are twice better than Self-Care. It takes u about 40 sec to heal your self and it's half a gen, while meds are about 16sec.
Anything else?

I'm trying to introduce my friend to this game, he likes it but we're at a crossroads. For a while we could play and escape sometimes. Recently every time we get on we get killed and our teammates do too. 2 escapes and 2 kills isn't happening. I love playing this game when it works properly, and I hate that in each post I complain. But man, BHVR really is doing what they can to ruin this game.
Maybe it's time to git gud no matter how salty it sounds? In my soio experience we mostly escape so i can't even figure how u can't

Can someone explain what is boon totem and how it/they currently works?

Similar situation with a Nemesis facecamping and eventually 4 guys on floor till death with crows on head. And Nemesis running in circles around.
I created a ticket, sending them a videoclip and a image from the game. They just told me, "So sorry, but slug is not bannable.
In my oppinon these flagrant and intentional cases with checkable proofs should be bannable, bit I´m not game developer.
I not appreciate such gameplay but i understand why some killers do so. They are salty after loosing a lot and being bullied by swf.
U can't ban people for dirty but valid tactics.
-
It feels garbage. And what would u take out for perk that almost gives you nothing?
-
With so many jokes and trolling recently I don't even know it's it upcoming 1st April joke or not.
-
1) emotes or pings which every survivor sees. Like lets say Kate is pinging *save* then appropriate emote appears near her nickname, and everyone sees she is going for save.
Or someone is running from killer so he uses *scared face* emote and everyone knows who is killer against.
2) Custom game should be made for SoloQ and stop requiring 2 people.
3) and 4) i don't care.
-
I mostly play survivor cause it's chill and my queue times are less than 30 sec while it takes on average 6 min to find a game as killer during daytime. Currently max was 20 min, and fastest was something around 1 min. Past midnight its less than 20 sec but i prefer to rest and sleep than playing game during night.
-
Bringing coms in game is terrible idea cause gamers will use it to win and coop which is fine, BUT more casual players will end up crying and provoking each other so most of the players will just play muted.
-
Probably rank 20 with 3k hours..
Ok aside from jokes, I saw multiple people camp hooks and im very proud when survivor start doing gens instead of suicide. It's just not so often and i think if they see camped once in 10 games it's time to run on forum.

I hope the balance team will consider nerfing the killer after 1-2 survivor deaths, otherwise the killer is too strong in this situation.
Remove skills like (Hex: no one escape death) to add more gaming space for killers and survivors.
Please protect the game experience of newcomers!
Newcomers, both survivors and killers, have no prep experience at all when they encounter high level opponents.
Do u need a press to win button? Just in case killer is too strong....

As far as i know u can't derank. But also it allows u to have fun. Once u hit your chosen color (iri, gold, silver etc) u can't derank no matter u do. So after u hit it u can play whatever u want.

will they ever implement some type of system where killers who facecamp with Bubba or any killer, dont get points and we dont get de-pipped?
They already loose when they choose to face camp. If only survivors understand it, stop watching someone on hook and go do gens. Face camp works cause survivors are ready to suicide and throw a game.

Why don't survivors leave? Why not just press W like you did all match? Why wait the whole two minutes?
Free points. If u come closer they get chasing points, if u hit and miss, they got points, etc....

I'm having fun on both sides. I doubt myself getting into iridescent ranks as killer cause i play Legion and i still feel there's plenty of things i need to learn, but as Survivor i never had such a good teammates. Most of the time we are 2-3 man escape.
Before that every second game i played with cry babies that did something stupid and then either dc or die on hook.
Yes, i still meet them time to time but not so often.
-
Boring as hell - Wraith.
Hard to play against - Nurse and Huntress with like 80% accuracy. It's a pain if she hits u no matter the edges walls etc.
Annoying - Trickster.
Fun - everyone else.

I know what you're going to say: no, slugging is not reportable. I get that. But I just went up against a Twins player who never hooked anyone the entire game and spent the entire match slugging and camping us, to the point where all 4 of us were almost dead from slugging, and I died from being slugged the entire match. I could barely do anything at all. I even made her grab me out of a locker twice and she just dropped me and slugged me, even with a hook right beside me.
So, I was thinking that when you go to report someone, it says you can report them for refusing to participate in normal gameplay, I assume this falls into that? I do have the match recorded, and I did make an in game report, but I don't want to waste my time and submit a ticket if it's just going to be rejected. Can anyone weigh in on this?
It's a viable strat and Twins are kings here. Admit your loss, play next.

Please in your honest opinion...even if you are a survivor player. Do you see it as maybe too strong sometimes? I'm talking at very high level play of course.
I think it should be nerfed. It's a perk that guarantee you save no matter how good u are. U mess it up, u need to dodge anything - press button u auto win, especially when it comes to pallets or window vaults.

Killers should not be able to view the hook timer, just like they can’t see how many hook states a survivor has individually. It defeats the purpose of perks like Camaraderie and it actually promotes camping and griefing as well. They can’t see a survivors Endurance time limit, they count in their heads, same with Decisive Strike. It requires mental work, but they can still circumvent being visually given the information by estimating, with hooks this isn’t the case. If a survivor is 20 seconds or less from death and hasn’t been rescued, the killer can see it with the bar next to the survivor and when they walk back to the hook they can essentially guarantee a death. If they see the hook timer pause, it lets them know that someone with Camaraderie is nearby, thus acting like a BETTER version of the Whispers perk to them with a shorter range.
How about they remove info from survivors? U don't know how much time your friends left, u don't know if u have trauma or any other debuff and should figure it out by yourself. Sounds fair.

I get it, the game can be stressful but why are people so determined to 4k or always escape without taking into consideration of anything in the trial.
I just versed a 5k hour legion, no gen defense on mother dwelling, they got 9hooks 1k could (could of got 10hooks, 2k but got greedy and slugged and lost it)
This 5k hour legion against people on my team (pretty bad players imo, but their hours was very low) and me sweating my ass off to do well, yet when I say gg etc. He gets mad and entitled saying he should of won....
Like dude, legion, no gen defense on a huge map, no matter the skill that's a good game, why cant people just say gg or accept anything less as a win
They can if devs actually start punish toxic behavior like in League or other games. Players just get muted from chat. Here it doesn't feel like system works against toxic people.

I'm not just a mod (really think I need to change my tag on here). I'm a Community Coordinator for BHVR, so full time employee who has input on the game and the Community. My job is pretty varied and naturally can't discuss most of it, but I can certainly input ideas, especially with evidence to back things up.
I'm not asking replying to this comment but please ask devs to slowdown on new killers and survivors and think about/ mb rework already existing content. There are dozens of perks from both sides players don't use. Players still can't create solo custom game to check something or just for practice. Ingame communication between players could be better. There's are few emotes and only from survivors.

Iri button would be super broken as basekit.
You are able to injure 4 survivors early only in theory. It is super rare and you can usually do it only when you stack duration addons.
In high MMR, you will almost never injure more than 2 and sometimes not even that. Survivors will split-up and also start running as soon you get first hit.
I was against team that enjoyed waiting under pallet, let me hit them and then stun me, so I wasn't able to commit on anyone else with my power and didn't get any info. Well, I run enduring + spirit fury since then.
I'm not sure but if it will be broken but what do u suggest? A lot of people think Wraith is Op while he can't do anything to high mmr teams. And legion isn't even half good.
-
It will be too strong no matter who are u playing against. 60 sec is a guarantee u can down someone and slug him if necessary and it if it's scaling, it's damn Cristmas gift.

to my knowledge Legion doesn't have anything going for them. i have no clue why i like this killer other than their look and backstory--i kinda wish they would be reworked so they matched their killer trailer more. i really thought theyd have some kinda power that made them look like a survivor. i mean if wraith can cloak to be invisible, but not attack, why cant legion cloak to look like a survivor and not attack or something
Power to look like survivor will make it even worse. Any decent survivor will figure out u are Legion, and if they are on comps, gg wp surrender time.
Also if we compare Wraith vs Legion, yes, Wraith is better overall, it's a racing truck cleaning map with wallhack addons and very noob friendly. But problem is in Legion power.
He is only killer who can injure all 4 survivors early game if they are all close. So in return he can't down while his power on. What's actually unfair is his 4 sec stun no matter either u stop your power or 10 sec passed. (That's why u want survivors hit u with the pallet it's 2 sec stun), your collision that's allows survivors abuse u on pallet/window vaults and inability to pressure survivors in any other way.
To solve this i would rly want to see some of his addons reworked into passive (i rly want to see inbuilt pallet break on vault as passive or something that's helps u end looping cause currently u have nothing to cancel infinite loops) , and others entirely reworked cause they are bad. Take collision away and lower stun duration. Like make it 2 sec or something close.

That last sentence sounds already pretty unhealthy to me.
Either you want the devs to look at the data and make decisions based on that (whatever the outcome may be, read: whether you like it or not) or you want changes that favor killers (aka "i rly hope they won't be survivor sided").
I will explain myself. Dbd is a horror game where survivors should be afraid of killers so killers needs to have some advantages which survivors need to outplay. Currently it feels otherwise. Like playing survivor compared to killer, I'm chilling. Even if he hooks me, it's like i don't care. Gens are still popping and job is done.
-
Body block isn't toxic u can take it out. Body block is base mechanic and u get points from protecting people.
U can't limit flashlight cause it's also used to communicate with teammates. U can get their attention by clicking them too.
Not sure what can be make about t-baging. And i honestly think it's in on the bottom list of devs priority.

In my case, as surv, my concept of fun is interaction with killer and teammates, not interaction holding m1 on a generator. I know i can be sticked to a gen and "win", but I find it extremely boring.
I don´t play much killer. But I´m aware that if u are not playing spirit, nurse, blight, in certain way you need to proxytunnel camp if u don´t want gens fly. As u say, there is no balance related to killers.
U mention this is PVP and I don´t see it that much. The way I see it this game is more like surv vs generators and killer vs time. I neither want the game to be survivorsided. I enjoy close games.
U mb don't see it but it actually is. As a reminder:
Survivor goal is to escape by running killer all over and doing gens same time. Here if u don't enjoy doing gens try to find killer and get his attention. Mb u will enjoy running and looping.
Killer goal is to track and catch up survivors before they escape. There's not so much i can suggest u to do as killer. It's up to u how u enjoy catching survivors or mb u prefer to ignore them and walk all over a map while they escape. It's up to u.

@Artemisha said:
Every single game is tunnel camp vs gen rush game.Just that. With ruin w/o undying. The higher is your MMR the more exploited are these techniques. As a survivor, most of the time u are sticked to a gen or looking for hex totems. Sometimes the killer don´t even bother on chase you if u are not wounded or on a deadzone. They are very afraid of the gens popping sound to can afford 1 or 2 long chases. Because if u don´t have a top tier killer that can end up a chase quick, gens fly. But, if survs are playing vs a top tier killer that is tunneling, only chance to "win" is repair. And I pass. Not my intention on winning a game repairing 2 or 3 full gens by myself.
These kind of games are not for me. I don´t play to win but for having fun. Repair generators and search totems can be extremely unfun and boring (special mention to coolwind farm and those maps where totems have perfect camouflage). So I get very tired and many games and eventually just let me die. This thing makes me drop my MMR I guess. So my games are with baby survs or killers many times. And it´s not something I neither enjoy (deaths at first hook, 4 ez scapes, etc...)
I´d like to be able to play with people on my level (I´m not Ayrun, but I can handle a chase, I bodyblock a teamate or trade hooks, etc) and propperly ENJOY the game. With more interaction with killer and teammates, focused on chases, bodyblocks, flashlight saves, etc. And with more sportmanship between survs - killer. I think nowadays both sides are very toxic against each other when it´s a necessary relationship. Survs need killers to play the same as killers need the survivors.
I´ve said it many times. Actual metagame is far to be funny. We need a new game mode more casual, and more focused on interaction between players. Remove the gens if necessary. Add a countdown or a capture the flag mode, whatever. But a new game mode or a casual queue with another rules that prevent this tunnel / gen rush meta.
I always want to ask people their definition of fun.
Also u come in PvP game and blame the game for being PvP. Dude, u are on 4 man team and u have to play as team, if for some reason they don't do gens, then u do it. There shouldn't be problem about it.
Killer balance is a separate question...
Overall let's just hope devs will gather their data and made some healthy decisions about it. And i rly hope they won't be survivor sided.
-
@latinfla4 said:
To win necessarily?
On killer I feel I need at least one gen regression perk regardless of the build.
As survivor I feel I need to use an exhaustion perk regardless of the build
On Survivor BT is must have if u don't want to kill your teammate in front of killer face.
On Killer any slowdown perk is must have, cause otherwise gens pop very quick.
-
I'm currently playing Legion but more i play him, more i think that Legion is Elo Booster which shouldn't be in this game. He gives free chasing and mending points to survivors and no matter the result (kills) they get free pips. Also Legion is kinda weak and im more and more questioning myself about changing killer.

U know when i started i faced full purple build survivors and killers with 600-2000 hours on rank 20 that played like potatoes and it tough me that's hours doesn't matter unless it's rank1 player. Just get some patience and play your way. If u want to learn u will learn very fast.
-
I got all 4 survivors dc in less than 1.5 min. I was Legion, i got 3 hooks very fast and 2 swf rage quit. In short time i found others and they quit too.
-
God, please no.
-
U mean this game has inbuilt aimbot?
-
U know I'm using spine chills since beginning and never changed it for anything else and i can ensure u it's not best, but definitely must have if u play Solo.
Reason I use Spine Chills is terror radius in DbD work very very very very bad, If u are in building that has more than 1 floor and let's assume killer somewhere near u but on 1st floor and u are on 2nd, your heart beat will be so loud that u will struggle to find out where he actually is and is he moving away or searching for something or in chase.
With Spine Chills I'm like 90% sure what is happening around.
Only reason i would change Spine Chills for something else is if devs make music and terror radius more quiet, cause i struggle to hear anything else when killer is nearby.
-
How do u think u can remove it? It's by human nature to split thing by worth.

Sometimes i get stomped, bm'd, etc or i just feel really bad, and honestly the other side making fun of me and constalty harassing me doesnt help me at all, this game has brought MY WORST SIDE, im simply not myself when i play this game, and i dont really enjoy playing any other game really, so switching games is not an option, i need a way to quickly cool down and not be overwhelmed by anger and frustation.
Most of this anger and frustation turns out into disconnecting, i've been penalized up to 7 days, which dont get me wrong, was okay for me and was all my fault, i just waited there 7 DAYS without playing anything else, the dc penalty is okay, however it doesnt discourage people who are angry from doing it...i just keep doing it everyday, because im so angry and frustated i need to vent in some way or another.
I wish there was a way for people like me, who get frustated and angry VERY easily to properly vent and keep playing without, well you know, disconnecting in such rage.
one option i though about was some sort of time-out, where you can, after some time decide if you want to keep playing, or leave, if you're a killer, you grant the survivors a a pip and max bloodpoints so they dont complain that you left , also progress toward challenges would be saved, meanwhile as survivor you could give your team a compesation advantage, of everyone agrees to end the game, bloodpoints and pips.
my whole point is that I NEED some method to stop disconnecting in the heat of my rage, or another way to vent without having to wait an eternity, i cant just go afk because i will eventually go back and see the other side harassing, making fun of and even insulting me, there must be a better way than just letting the other side farm bloodpoints from you, while you sit there waiting like 10 more minutes, it just TAKES TOO LONG!
this was basically a little rant, please take it with a grain of salt.
I'm very calm person but even i get angry sometimes and u know i figured out that i can't get mad if i start thinking. Like thinking counters anger. Also when u understand things happening are only temporary, there's nothing to be mad about cause it's like * Either i can do something about it or just let it go if not* For me it's just not worth focusing on something i don't like.
I hope it helps u in some way.

Keep tunnelling to make it a 3vs1, eventually scoring all them 4k’s is going to land you with a high MMR where you can enjoy matches playing against sweaty 4 man squads.
There's not a big choice u have there. No matter u do u will face sweaty squad at some point and tunneling their weakling is a must if u want to secure 1-2 kills overall. Otherwise it's 4 man escape.
-
Changes i would made if i was able:
From survivors:
- Nerf DH so it doesn't give u any bonus distance and higher it's CD from 40 sec up to 60 sec. (Main idea - Game should be skill vs skill, not Perk vs Skill and DH allows any survivor calible to ignore his mistake on button)
- Nerf DS and lower it's time from 60 sec to 30 sec. (60 sec is too much for a killer who either has to camp and slug this player or leave and let others save him cause standing for 60 sec nearby is too much. Also it still will save those who are tunneled)
- Remove Hook distance offering (If u never faced 4 hook distance offerings in one map u never saw hook with 40-50m distance between, and if survivor destroys one, it's basically game over)
- Remove Map offering in ranked games (I don't think it needs explanation)
- Buff multiple weak perks (Let's not write wall of text here)
From killers:
- Nerf Nurse blink distance and cap it around 30m each. (Nurse in good hands is ridiculously strong, and if we want to buff other killers or change something, she should be nerfed before that)
- Make Nurse blink distance indicator as passive. (Doubtful but will help a lot to players with understanding how far she actually can go and learn her faster)
- Rework Spirit phasing animation so survivors won't struggle to find is she phasing or not (Everyone knows facecheck is boring)
- Rework Ruin and make as passive with something like - IF gens isn't repaired for 3-5 sec it starts to regress with ¬120% speed. (Basic kick is garbage and requires time, also there are multiple situation killer has to choose either run after survivor and give others free gen, or kick it and let him go hoping gen won't pop somewhere else)
- Buff/rework multiple killers addons and some killers power. (Let's be honest, everyone knows majority are weak and there are only few killers that can actually compete against good survivors)
Overall:
- Change map sizes, some of them are way too big and boring to play on.
- Toolbox and brand new parts can pop gens very very quick so either nerf gen speed or nerf this items.
- Make Map pool option so every player before getting into match could choose maps he wants to play and ban those he doesn't want to play. (Example: We have 12 maps and 4 ban options, so game would choose one from 8 for my lobbies)
MB i forgot about something, but it's all that came into my mind.

The difference between DBD and most other games with an intense ranking system being, DBD is not that mechanically difficult to play. Like at all. Especially for survivor, where 90% of the gameplay is holding m1. I go into a game like League and the game is so in depth that I can play an easy mode character like warwick and still be learning things with him all the way up to diamond. DBD it's like not really, you get to a safe loop with Bubba and you hold W after the survivor and that's that. I would go out and say a silver level league player is good enough to play DBD at a "high level" no problem with most of the killer roster.
The MMR system just highlights how incredibly poor the balance is (we all knew that though).
The implementation is also poor. The other games with similar ranking systems don't have loadouts you carry game to game. If i'm at 1000 MMR, and there's a 1000 MMR survivor who uses no items and the 1000 MMR survivor who uses a key every game; how is that balance? It only gets more blatantly broken the higher up you go.
U get some rly good points but u still missed one major. League is balanced around strongest players and none cares about silver player opinion. Dbd is all about survivor crying rivers untill game became survivor sided and they still keep crying. This game should be killer sided and survivors should be afraid of killer not otherwise.
If devs want this game get big they should find some guts and start doing their job ignoring those rivers.
-
Their gameplay rly fits my mindset. We are similar.

I mean if you're not that good, why tunnel out people and artificially inflate your MMR? If you don't want to play like this, play like you did and you'll NORMALLY be adjusted to lesser-skilled teams that you can handle with your favoured playstyle. Although that's if MMR works, but I doubt many people are trying this approach.
Because with current system u can basically afk every 2nd game to get some fun in next one and this is stupid.

So are you saying that survivors who play well shouldn't win, but killers who play well should? I'm confused as to what point you're making, you say that survivors who play well are strong and that's unbalanced, so they should be nerfed, but also that you shouldn't lose if you play well.
If you have a full team of survivors playing well with no weak links and few mistakes then they probably SHOULD win because the game is asymmetrical and survivors are balanced around teamwork. One weak survivor link can drop the whole team, is that also unfair? Do you complain that survivors often lose because there was little they could do due to their team, and not because they personally played badly? Or is the fact that survivors are balanced around a team effort okay when it causes the survivors to lose, but a problem when it causes them to win?
Survivors are balanced around Ds and Dh. I bet if devs turn off those perks for a week lot's of so called good survivors will fall off.
Those two perks guarantee result (escape, free vault etc) no matter are u actually good or potato with 1 hour experience.
Edit. While game should be skill vs skill not perk vs skill.
