  • I’m a simple man, Scarecrow

  • Don’t worry guys, after the mid-patch they will have the new Killswitch feature, the one to temporarily turn off any broken stupid features they added to break the game. Let’s just hit that button immediately, okay BHVR?

  • If your a Blendette, I’m devoting my match to you, Cheers~

  • Bubba camp style is hard camping where you have to let go of the idea of earning points and BP.

If you want a campy style but still progressing the game and earning BP, then you need to consider Hag or Twins. They are less liked Killers because of the camp style, but they are not hard face-campers. Hag obviously can teleport back to the hook and pressure her hook and has to proxy camp to stay within teleportation range. Twins can be in two places at once. So you can learn to position Victor under your hook (has to be placed before you hook) or you can leave Charlotte nearby and use Victor to hunt injured survivors. Who you leave near hook is based on how many injured, point is your always basically camping without staring at a survivor hanging, so your free to go earn BP.

As for builds I’ll leave that up to you or others. I’m still earning some Killer Perks from the last 3 chapters and am a lil rusty on Killer builds.

  • I’m ashamed at how addicted to Brutal Strength I am. I know it’s not helping me too much in chase and other perks would be better but it feels so good.

When each rift is a time limited event, and challenges are the main method of earning fragments, challenges should not be as difficult as some of them are, especially with how rng reliant this game can be.

Right. Which is why it’s a challenge to think over these challenges that are too challenging and make them a challenge that is less challenging, especially, as you pointed out, how challenging the RNG is. I’m all for this challenge though, so let’s tackle this challenge together and come up with easy challenges that we can do in an hour or two. I think that’s the best way to challenge this challenge.

  • Oh man these challenges seem challenging, I’m not even sure why people would challenge them. Certainly couldn’t be for the challenge though. Guess we can only think this over slowly, as challenging as that challenge seems.

  • I made a type of Bill comment that could fit in this topic, maybe he is referencing this topic.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/284846/give-bill-a-smoke-effect-on-his-cigarette

  • At some point it’s just communication between the two lol. Better question is how bad ass is Bill to learn a new language just to ######### talk Clown the whole game~

  • I facepalmed at that Gann post lol. Looks like a solid post but imma wait till tomorrow to read. im console so I’m sure a lot of this will be more interesting to me. I don’t have time to absorb it in now. Thanks though~

Even if his full kit is unlocked he's still pretty boring to play. Old Freddy as weak as he is. Was pretty unique in comparison to this one.

I, of course, whole heartily agree but I was trying to avoid personally talking about Old Freddy since I wanted to focus on my personal gripe with New Freddy. I think someone suggested that I could basically cancel my teleport ability to instead run Snares and Pallets. That doesn’t sound bad and if thats all BHVR would give me, I would take it…but…Freddy also has a mind-game with fake teleporting at gen. I was trying to create a version of Freddy that could have all 3 abilities, so he could play all his mind-games and also use his slow down powers, without being over-powered.

I like Freddy and his abilities but I don’t like how lopsided it feels to take one or the other ability.

  • I don’t have trust in BHVR anymore then the rest of you but a competent Dev team would have probably created an unlimited boon totem for the PTB too. Then they would monitor the amount of uses it got, the amount of snuffs and the over-all impact before deciding on a numerical “fair” number to give to survivors. Like the me of several years ago, who was still naïve to BHVR would argue that this was never meant to release as is, it was meant to be ‘play tested’ at the maximum level before giving it the appropriate nerf.

Because this is BHVR though I’m of course expecting the usual, “So we heard you didn’t like unlimited Boons, so we’ve decided to add more totems to every map.” Type of bullshit lol~

  • I thought they made it so that when he accidentally breaks his own chain that it will now respawn and try again. Was that wrong? I was against him breaking his own chain but was okay with it after the update.

  • Pretty sure they get to rest with our Heroes. Old Freddy, Fair Child Billy, Only Vommy Mommy Plague.

    RIP

  • I remember that.

The way Victor attacks and his situation with Charlotte always reminded me of Basket Case. That 1982 horror movie. Here.

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FCG3RDb0ybo

Plot: (from Wiki). Duane Bradley arrives in New York City with a locked wicker basket. After he gets a room at a cheap hotel, the contents of the basket are finally revealed: in it lives his deformed conjoined twin brother, Belial. Although conjoined at birth, the twins were surgically separated at an early age against their will. Belial deeply resents being cut off from his normal-looking brother, & Duane equally resents how heartless everyone acts towards his loving brother.

  • Bro, Survivors on Console going Ham with those keys before nerf. My last 3 days are just peeps trying to bring key or burning for more chests so they can find a key 🔑. I’m actually starting to lose my mind. I can’t get too mad though, I remember burning my fair share of Mori before it was too late xD

  • I’d like Billy and Pinhead. Lock them down and TEAR THEM UP!

  • Well, personally, this still boils down to SWF. They are so strong that Killers have to run Meta. In the past, Killers who saw a bunch of Solo survivors join the lobby and maybe if they didn’t all have items, then the Killer would switch to his “fun” Killer with his fun perks on and have a relaxed game. NOW? Well now we’re locked in and have very little time to switch to something more laid back, even if we wanted to.

Game pretty much always boils down to SWF and their unfair advantage despite them always saying they barely make call outs ect ect lol.

Could we get a perk then that allows survivors to slap other survivors? This would add a fun new dynamic.

Maybe it could come with a licensed Abe’s Odyssey chapter.

Old Freddy mechanic had survivors clapping each other awake, I swear sometimes it looked like they were slapping each other.

The 4man SWF with this perk approaching the killer in a line

[mods this is not a death threat and in context it cannot be taken as such in any interpretation]

    I feel threatened…

[Mods this is not real fear and in context it cannot be taken as such in any interpretation]

  • Nice, im actually in the process of grinding out Pinhead so I can use this perk. I like what I’m hearing. Good post~

  • See you Space Cowboy…

    BANG

  • Fits quite well with specific killers and perk synergies. I only get his point if I tried to use Pop on a slower Killer or tried to force perk synergy that obviously isn’t there. It’s a solid perk.

  • How you like whispering so deep in your ear it makes your tongue itchy? Come play Plague~

  • Face camping has been addressed and the devs had said it’s a non-issue, it’s a strategy and it’s absolutely fine and nothing is inherently wrong with it. The DEVS made the point, the community is just adhering to this mindset because it’s ESTABLISHED. If you want my “fix” or suggestion to help out on a non-issue, then I’ll default to my suggestion nearly two years ago.

Get the Devs to incentivize Killers to leave the hooked area. Bonus BP, stronger perks designed around leaving hook, add-ons that do the same. Any and all ideas to ‘promote’ less camping will establish the Killer mindset to “play more fair”.

You know what DOESNT WORK. Punishing a Killer because they don’t do or play exactly how you ‘think’ they should. All that does is create systems SURVIVORS ABUSE or are so weak of a punishment that Killers will bite it if it means a less harmful, less abusive game~

wrong. You have to implement something that actually works.

Even if they slowed down Gen speed some killers would still face camp because they are bad at the game. You have to implement a fix in another way.

You literally said…On so many occasions if a killer loses gen too quickly he instantly begins to camp his first hook.

So don’t let the Killer lose gen so quickly. It’s why everybody asks for the opposite of the End Game Collapse (that they mentioned) but have yet to see. Anyway you went from gens are too quick and killers camp to killers camp because they are bad.

so we now need a solution that makes killers ‘git gud’ instead of just fixing something you already admitted but wanna back track on lol.

Anyway, as someone else mentioned. Your hook timer use to stop when killer was camping and the end result was survivors purposely chasing themselves to the hook survivor to keep killer busy, hooked survivor alive and gens a still popping. Survivors got what they wanted and abused it~

  • By your own logic…slow down gen speed and less/no camping. Your welcome~

    It's hilarious with Trickster.

You only need to hit 1 knife to block the pallet

    That does sound hilarious~

  • Took me an hour to figure where the changes were posted, any help is appreciated lol

  • I only play pig to down and t-bag those who come looking for a free boop. You earn those from me.

  • Pretty sure we have Grandma Bubba and we’re only a couple more updates until the roles are completely reversed, so you have that at least~

  • Just give him a secondary weapon, a mini spear pistol. The Speargun for dragging back to you. The pistol works like the spear gun but the hooks are not tethered to the gun and has no limited distance, just spear the survivors upon hit. Survivors can have other survivors remove them. 1 spear causes a debuff, like the one that makes you bleed a lot. If you got two in you, then your injured/mangled, if you get three in you then you’ve hit the maximum allowed and you are broken.

Basic idea that is t fleshed out, but you get where I’m coming from.

  • Have they shown a picture of boon totems yet? I wanna know what color they are. I might just leave them up if they manage to make it look good~

  • If he got the Freddy treatment, we’d all be complaining 6 months later about how cookie cutter he is and how unique they use to be. Probably take away his run and instead play around with the mimic feature ( like trailer ), except they would botch it up, give a power survivors (even solo) could quickly determine whose the real killer and the only viable way to use them is as a M1 Killer xD

  • Join the club bro. Freddy Mains started a help group years ago. We have cookies~

He now has to aim the same way huntress does. This actually gives survivors a warning before he shoots to allow some kind of counter play. He'll play more like her now.

Lol. Sure, except unlike Huntress he has a limited range, can lose his injure/down even with a successful shot and needs to take the time to Reel a survivor in…

Yeah, just like Huntress sure <_<

  • Uhhh Hello. Survivors complained and pushed for huge changes, if anything Freddy mains were just asking for tweaks (like usual) to help make him “more fair” for both sides, without fundamentally overhauling his whole kit. Their didn’t need to be a strong push back against the change because everybody knew he needed a lil help. So most Freddy Mains gave this new Freddy a fair shot….but the realization we lost a cool character because of an overreaction from BHVR did bring a push back. We did have a strong vocal opinion to re-add Old Freddy, even if he got no changes. To honestly see which was used more, add the ability to burn for Old Freddy or bring him back but with his traditional look (Robert England). It’s just, per usual BHVR didn’t care, didn’t communicate and double downed on another unwanted stupid change. No reason to say we’re reminiscing now lol, I’ve seen plenty of positive Old Freddy comments over my time here.

I’ve played this game for a very long time and don’t recall something like this ever being a thing.

However, if there is a second survivor in a [blank] range, the countdown continues. It becomes a tool for the killer even to know if there’s another survivor there.

it just isn’t fun when the killer puts people in the basement and camps so they can’t get out. And it’s frustrating that survivors lose a decent number of points for not getting their friends off the hooks.

I’m fairly sure we had this at some point, but I honestly don’t care enough to try and verify this. Also, fun is subjective and depriving the Killer side of a tactic that they’ve been using for years, that the Devs have assured the community is not abusive or wrong, especially when some people consider camping the basement IS fun. Which is why they make builds around the whole concept.

Then you gotta remember the scenario where all gens are done and the Killer doesn’t have much to do but to sit next to his hook to try and protect it. I mean, it’s a meme but it literally seems like survivors just want Killers to go sit in a corner and always let them get away, why not just consider it a challenge and either pop those gens and escape without the basement hook or (if you got the communication/proper perks) try and save that basement hook and be done with it. It’s not like this happens every game, just like not every game does 3 gens pop nearly instantaneously but it DOES happen and we just gotta deal with it, not ask Devs to make it so that if 3 survivors are working on 3 different gens, then they should be penalized because ‘it’s not fun’.

  • My guess? The one that escaped triggered the zombie and he got stuck in chase mode.

  • Make sure you RESPECT THE KOBE (that’s when a Survivor wiggles themselves off hook). Respecting it means you have to let them go. Just be mindful that a Perk exists that lets a survivor do this but they are ‘broken’ for doing so, so if your Hud says that survivor used a perk, then they are still free game~

  • Because VHS hasn’t released yet…

All joking aside the OP has inspired me to start mentally yelling “GO TO JAIL” every time I slug. My neighborhood played the version called “Cops and Robbers”.

  • Well we once had the idea and talk about a ‘Early Game Build’ to match the ‘End Game Collapse’. People generating ideas on what could and couldn’t be done and how long it was in use or whether or not it stayed active until triggered. An example would be Survivors could not start on a generator until Killer initiated a chase. So that opened up on ideas on which Killers could try and set up or try sneaking around to stalk without being found and having survivors chase them down to initiate a chase. Blah blah blah, it was a fun discussion with many positive ideas and interesting concepts. Doesn’t matter though because —>BHVR<—

  • Funny thing about BHVR is they don’t see all the anti-gen perk usage and think “geez, maybe we should look closer at how quickly a gen can be popped and the tools we give the survivors to accelerate it” and instead think “wow, every Killer is using anti-gen perks, we should consider nerfing these perks to make them more viable’. Lol

  • I guess you can put me on the ‘already over the edge’ category since I have to skip 2-3 chapters before feeling any small amount of interest in this broken game. Not to mention they “fix” every killer I fall in love with and change them so much that I’ve lost all interest in using them anymore.

  • I thought the odd ball synergy perk for cenobite was hoarder? Granted I just bought him today so…

  • It’s stupid. Every game has people that don’t want to ‘earn’ the accomplishment of the challenge but cheat for it. Those people always exist so I only mentally look down on you, not despise you or nothing. Cheating on your academic tests, petty stealing, or working together with the opposition to earn accolades that you don’t deserve, none of it really personally effects me but it still something to frown upon~

  • Yeah, I was only excited with MMR because of the notion that each Killer would be raised separately and using a unused Killer would be like resetting yourself, so in theory you could play high level with your main killers and go against trash when you switch to a Killer who your inexperienced with (giving a more fair game).
