Hysteria. Victor latches on, Survivor becomes Oblivious, Charlotte sneaks up on them.

I actually only tbag and say gg ez to killers that play like d###heads, i might even give a free kill to killer if I feel they were mismatched or my team stack prove /bnps
I’m on a roll. I also suspect you have a broad definition of what “playing like a dhead” is and tbag far more than you give a pity kill. Please confirm or deny.

Did pull of one nice curve though
Easy to get lost playing him and overheating. Completely kills the flow.

You must be a real snowflake to consider flashlights toxic 😂gl in life with this soft attitude
I suspect you say “EZ baby killer” in chat if you are on PC and tbag at the gates. Please let me know if I am off base.

thats not an excuse to gut them though. they couldve removed insta saw without giving him an overheat, or removing sky/space billy, or any of the many other nerfs they added
slingers nerf was justified, and i think hes still fairly strong, but he needs a lullaby and smaller tr
Agree about Billy. Slinger is already a weaker Huntress though. He shouldn’t be made more like her.

Bro what? Having flashlights in your lobby is awesome. The amount of pressure I get because of those greedy little goblins is amazing.
With Lightborn, I totally agree. Without, not so much. Usually they have a designated person or 2 cranking gens though. If you lose a hook, it’s a big deal.
-
I run Lightborn constantly. Quite aware how to “play around them” without it. Here’s a shocker. Coordinated SWFs with thousands of hours in the game have a lot of experience blinding, more than most Killers have dodging them.
I have seen SpookyLoopz, Otz, and D3ad get blinded multiple times in a game. If those guys get blinded, you can imagine what it is like for the average Killer.

i like being blinded at pallets, i have headphones so it means the survivor isn't making distance as i track their footstep sounds
Because not being able to see is such great fun.

Can't get blinded by a flashlight if you don't play Killer.

It is a killer issue. When ive asked people why they were toxic they said otz told them too 🤷🏽♀️ Which goes back to my point of fog whispers encouraging toxicity against survivors but not killers
Tell me you don’t play Killer without telling me you don’t play Killer.

You will get a lot more killers you maybe not like in the future.
If they keep the pace of 4 killers and survs and perks a year they won´t be great everytime.
I would like them to slow down with releases but i think this won´t happen.
But i guess there still will be some amazing chapters to come too...
You are minimizing people’s legitimate concerns by saying they “don’t like it.” It’s like saying someone just “didn’t like” their steak because it came out completely raw.

it's literally the only thing that he has that's good right now... Aren't you satysfied of the nerfs that he got previously? They already removed his peculiar ability of aiming without delay, making him clunky as hell and increased his TR to 32 despite he's a 4.4 MS killer... Leave alone this killer, he was nerfed too much already
Exactly. The fact he can use things like Starstruck, Jolt, and Sloppy makes him viable.

If you get even one Survivor who is saboing, good luck.

Between buying DLCs, prestiging to unlock perks, and understanding the game enough to enjoy it (hypothetically), you are looking at a significant time and money investment.

Nah. The map overhauls look great, Shelter Woods looks like an actual fun map now, the survivors look fine, and even though I personally like the killer's visual design (other than the mask) I understand why people don't, but it's not something that warrants an official response. They'd be shooting themselves in the foot if they came out and said "yeah our new chapter is a goofy, all the hard work our team put into it over the past year or so is garbage."
All they need to do is buff/tweak her power and the perks, which is what they do most of the time. If you really hate her, don't buy her at release. If you like the power but not the look, maybe wait for a skin? Idk you won't even see her 95% of your match so who cares.
I will never understand taking the time to ask someone “who cares?”

Goes on the massive heap of mostly useless perks.

I mean I feel like Trickster was received almost as poorly with a ton if "this doesn't belong in DBD" threads. But the game survived and we got Resident Evil right after so you know this one may not have been for you but anniversary is usually more universally well received last few have been Dredge, Nemesis, Executioner and Ghost Face so usually doesn't disappoint.
Knight was poorly received overall. Somehow they made a chapter that made Knight look good. The trend is not promising.

Yes but, what should they be saying? Nothing short of "okay we're completely changing everything" would actually be a response to what people are saying, and they obviously shouldn't be doing that for a myriad of reasons- and even if you think they should, that's not "official comment", that's "changing everything".
There's nothing they can actually say that would sate the people who are mad about this, so we're automatically moving out into the realms of them making changes, and making changes that fundamentally change what this chapter looks like would anger all the people who actually like it. There's nothing to do but ride it out, from a business perspective.
Like I said, if there were something to respond to I would agree with you, but this is just people disliking a chapter in general.
People’s gripes are pretty clear. It’s not accurate to say people just “don’t like it.”
- Killers design looks like a Fornite or Apex character.
- Killers power is weak other than 3 gen play, which is disliked by most and is a main criticism of the Knight. Even if buffed it is still very boring.
- The perks are weak and will be little more than bloodweb pollution
People seem to like the Survivors themselves and the map changes.
-
@jesterkind said:
I mean, what kind of response would they even give, though?
There's no concrete cause for offence that'd warrant responding to, like if they'd used accidentally bigoted/offensive material or something. A bunch of people just don't like it, I'm not sure what a response would even look like for a situation like that.
When the overwhelming of your dedicated player base is upset with your new release, it’s time to make some changes and keep them informed in the meantime.

Ok if she was the terminator would you be saying that? Terminator isn't a horror theme character, he is from a Scifi action movie. If you don't like her design that's fine but didn't get mad at the devs for not delivering a chara that wasn't promised in the first play. Also, they have done non-horror theme killers before and never heard ppl care about their looks. Deathslinger is just a cowboy and has nothing to do with horror, and Legion is just a bunch of Canadian young adults with masks. The point is the devs are not restricted to horror or scary killers, they can make any killer, they make, look the way they want. You have the right to complain also don't get me wrong but nothing is promised to us when it comes to killer looks and design.
BHVR did not deliver to their core audience. The criticism is well deserved.

People are probably fixed on her design because they were expecting something that wasn’t promised. You’d think that the community knows that the devs don’t like to think inside the box when it comes down to the types of characters they add to the game.
“Thinking outside the box” or “subverting expectations” is not an excuse for this chapter. No one should blamed for expecting a horror themed Killer in a horror themed game. Instead we got a character who is out of a direct-to-video Scifi movie.
@BlueRose said:
I don't know why so many are so fixed on her looks tbh. I think she looks fine and I personally like her a lot. If anyone thought we were getting a terminator like killer based on the teaser then that's on you, not bhrv for getting your hopes up. Nothing in those teasers said she was going to be a cyborg or anything, it was just a skull with tech in it and that was referring to her drones. Plus if it bc she's not scary well DbD honestly has no "scary" killers. The game itself isn't scary at all lol.
Anyway the complaints about her power, on the other hand, are justified and I completely understand where ppl are coming from. It's really weak and does the thing everyone in the community hates and that is area control/denial. People only really want chase killers anymore and I just feel like those take a lot longer to make and balance, that's why we usually don't get that many killers like blight or Wesker. Maybe it's time for the devs to give up on the whole new killer every 3 months and force on a few killers a year. Personally, I'm still getting her because I like her looks and aesthetics, and I'm sure they find some ways to buff her in some ways. Even if the buffs are small I can find fun in any killer in the game. I even enjoy playing sakoko and knight :P
Scary and horror themed are not interchangeable.

Real question - am I the only one who thinks she looks cool?
She would be a cool Wraith skin in Apex. She does not look like she belongs in this game, especially not as Killer.
-
The backlash has nothing to do with her being female. Spirit, Huntress, Artist, Plague etc are all intimidating Killers and their visual designs were well received. This new Killer really does look like a Fortnite skin.

It actually does, since it blocks a gen for 30 secs, which hinders gen rushing, which is the main counter to camping.
Regarding the suggestion, would be worth the test, theres also Corrupt Intervention to consider.
That makes sense. How about it does not activate if the Killer has been within 24 m of a hooked Survivor for 20 seconds (or something like that), now it is an incentive not to camp.
-
@dspaceman20 said:
No this will inadvertently buff camping and we don't want more of that

@RakimSockem said:
The survivor HUD has literally no effect here. I could already tell when a gen was at 70% based on the bar.
All Survivors can now see the Killer is going to be undetectable, not just the one on the triggering gen.
-
Wesker's voice actor already did it. Just has to be implemented.
-
@TigerSnake said:
Call of Brine - Increased regression removed, can only apply its effect to one gen at a time.
Overcharge - Difficult skill check removed, will instead increase the regression penalty of the next failed skill check by 5% once as long as it’s within 60 seconds, increased regression removed.
Pain Res - 15% total lowered to 12% of current, now has a cooldown of 60 seconds.
Deadlock - Duration lowered to 15 seconds, killer no longer sees aura of blocked gen, can only activate once per trial.
Pentimento - Each rekindled Totem lowers survivors’ repair speed by 5%.
Assuming every meta perk gets adjusted the same way Eruption did, this is probably what are new versions of popular perks will look like. Lmao.
You just did their work for them.

@Coffeecrashing said:
It's going to make killers feel even more miserable when they are against a coordinated SWF, where the survivors are using voice communications to point out all the pallets that need to be reset. Solo survivors aren't going to know where all the pallets are that can be reset, but SWFs with voice communication can get so much more value out of this perk buff.
Completely agree with the SWF part. The perk itself allows you to see dropped pallets anywhere on the map though.

Either that or they don't understand how their game works.
Perhaps both. I wonder the skill level of the folks trying out the changes before they go public. Most Survivors will work on gens till they are about to be pulled off, if you are testing things against Survivors who book as soon as they hear the terror radius, you are going to get a very inaccurate picture.

@InsidiousSmartfaceLF said:

Combined with Dead Man's Switch it basically produces the same effect that Behavior says Eruption was nerfed for, which is that it disadvantages survivors that aren't in swf on comms because they don't know when the downed survivor will be hooked. It'll be used by every killer now until it inevitably gets nerfed like every other meta regression perk.
It's pretty easy to keep track of a Survivor being picked up and knowing the Killer has a short time to hook. Eruption was dictated by a Survivor going down which is way harder to predict.
-
I really don't know why they do this an it happens overwhelmingly with Killer perks. They could have reverted Eruption to it's previous state instead of nerfing it into oblivion. Nothing was buffed for Killers while Survivors got a new HUD (biggest buff they have ever gotten) and an Any Means Necessary buff. Because Killers want to do deal with MORE pallets.

I've literally gone and made a whole toasted panini and came back and the survivors were still not done vault spamming around the map. It's so so weird.
They are relentless. They have to rub salt in the wound until they get a reaction, and of course, they need you to see them tbag before they leave.
@KMainEZ said:
Vault spamming, omfg please BHVR so something about that. I feel like i have sensory issues with that after 5 whole minutes of survs just spamming I want to not play for the rest of the day.
I find the sound of a gen finishing and the exit gates being powered to be jarring. Glad I'm not the only one. And yes, it certainly does not make you want to jump into another Killer match.

Dead Hard is still the worst perk in the game.
Worst perk FOR the game. Literally a rechargeable 3rd health state with just a little practice.

I fully expect SWFs to run it. Pallet gets dropped, makes more sense to continue chase, clicky clicky Survivor nearby puts it back up.
-
@Dreamnomad said:
+1 for Knight. Nice thing about him is if survivors are trying to hang around exit gates, you can chase them out without even having to look at their faces.
There is also the chance you have Iri Company Banner.

It needs a complete rework. The theme is cool but that is where it ends. It is not a fun map to play for either side. The lighting is absolutely hideous and I'm not normally someone who notices things like that.

If you're running distortion then maybe deliberately take chase at some point.
Besides aura perks are not the only way to catch survivors. KI, listening for audio, plenty of ways to catch survs even if they use distortion.
That's pretty much what you have to do. Tough to get in the habit.
Sure there are other ways. But when you have LP, BBQ, and NWTH being run commonly, it's something to keep in mind.
