  • No.

    1. Camping is not 'unfair'. No.
    2. After 5 seconds? Rofl, no.
    3. Teleporting off a hook? Or if I'm reading it right, a third party (second Survivor) teleporting the hooked Survivor? Basically a long-distance hook save? No.

Camping is not 'unfair'. Survivors need to stop inventing broken perks and BS punishments because they, personally, get upset over it.

Maybe i am missing something and you are sarcastic, but if you are not, how about we use that "too lazy to learn" for everything?

SWF not op, learn to play against. Keys not op, learn to play against. Any perk ever not op, just learn to play against. You do realise how dumb this is, do you?

Said that, it is not about how op something is, but rather how enjoyable. Legion for example was pretty bad, but he was not enjoyable the slightest. Not everything people want to get changed is neccessary overpowered.

    There's a difference:

Killers don't claim keys are 'unfun'; they point out that the logic behind nerfing moris applies to keys (which were never nerfed as promised)

SWF clearly breaks every concept about the game, including many Killer perks or powers. If the game was MADE for SWF; fine. But as it sits, the devs ignore how SWF literally ignores 60% of the game.

I'm against using 'unfun' as a metric for balance on EITHER side. But that does not mean things are not 'OP'. The problem here is that Survivors will claim ANYTHING is 'Unfun'. I've seen 'Trapper unfun, nerf' and 'Legion unfun, nerf'. Survivors claim EVERY Killer is 'unfun, plz nerf' within 24 hours of a new Killer hitting PTB. I have never, NEVER not seen a '<New Killer> unfun/OP' post within 24 hours of drop.

Survivors seem to be so entitled that they think their fun trumps literally everything else about the game, including Killer fun. They think 'I'm not having fun' is a proper metric for balancing every aspect of the game. And it's not.

    So try again.

It's only a 'lose/lose' situation if you considering going into a chase a 'loss'. But at that point, why bother playing killer at all, with or without anti-camp?

It's a 'lose/lose' because the Killer is FORCED into making a bad choice when camping may be the thing that turns the game around for him. Securing that kill may be needed to start that snowball rolling.

I don't get why people can't understand this.

  • @GeneralV said:

It is not about fun, it is about sending a message.

That message being 'Nerf any Killer that we are too lazy to learn to play against.' 😁

  • Here's how it was abused:

Back when the Struggle Meter was slowed/stopped if a Killer 'camped':

    Survivor #1 does gens.

#2 and #3 go to the hook. They stand in opposite directions, so the Killer cannot threaten them both. They ALSO stand so far away that a chase cannot start.

If Killer goes after #2, #2 backs up to prevent a chase from starting. #3 goes towards the hook.

Same if you flip who he goes after.

If Killer resets; Survivors reset. Killer has not started a chase yet (due to distance) so the game penalizes him for 'camping'.

Now, the Killer's choice to to 'camp' & eat the punishment (even though HE IS NOT CAMPING because 2 Survivors are visibly there there) or chase one, and give the other a free unhook.

This is why the old punishment was removed; it basically forced the Killer, the supposed 'power role' into a lose/lose situation that Survivors could abuse EVERY TIME the first person was hooked. It was quickly removed.

  • Or the Bubba nerf, the Billy nerf, the Nurse nerf, the Legion nerf...

  • While crouching, the Pig's legs start to cramp up and fall asleep. if the player does not make the Pig stand up every 30 seconds, they have to sit down and spend 120 seconds massaging feeling back into her legs.

Also; the player's view will be narrowed to 2 eye-holes in her Pig mask, bringing her field of view down to 10%.

We feel this will accurately portray what Amanda sees through that thing, and bring a new dynamic to the Killer with the leg-cramp system. (It's really just a cooldown system like Bubba)

  • @Pepsidot said:

    Because:

    - It rewards killers for not sacrificing everyone before all gens are complete

    - Because you don't know whether a killer has equipped NOED. You can waste time cleansing all the dull totems (with all the problems that entails) and the killer might not even have NOED. So in the end rushing gens was the better option.

    - Don't like NOED? "Just equip a totem perk" doesn't really make sense. I also don't like Spirit so I should always bring Iron Will? I don't like Legion so I should bring resilience to rush gens faster? I don't like depending on my team so I should bring Self Care every game? I don't want to be seen with BQAC so I should equip Distortion? I can't counteract everything in this game and even if I could I'd like to use perks suited to my own play style.

    - There's no default totem counter. So as solo queue when do I know all totems are cleansed? What if I waste time cleansing 4 totems and I can't find or presume the 5th one has been cleansed but it hasn't and the killer has NOED? That's a lot of time wasted and remember, we don't even know if the killer has NOED in the first place.

    - What about progressing through the game? Imagine going against a Blight with Ruin, Tinkerer and Undying. Your first thought should be powering through gens or finding those 2 hexes. You are playing poorly if you're cleansing dull totems. Imagine someone's on a hook, someone's unhooking and healing that person and the other person is being chased and you're cleansing dull totems. I guess if you never get to end game you never encounter NOED though.

    - It's too good with Nurse.

Also, to note it's almost always better just to cleanse NOED after it activates so you get gens done ASAP. No time wasted cleansing dull totems and as I said the killer might not even have NOED.

    No tldr unfortunately.

    1) It...rewards Killers for not killing everyone? #########?

    2) That's the point of NoED; risk Vs Reward. You risk doing totems and are rewarded if you catch it. The Killer risks running the trial with 3 perks and is rewarded with end-game power if a totem lasts. It exists to force Survivors off of gens by the sheer threat it MIGHT exist. That is it's point.

    3) Again; not knowing of NoED exists IS THE POINT. Though a totem counter would be nice for solo-q's.

    4) That. is. The. Point. You don't know if it exists. Your risk doing totems or not. That is the damn point! That. Is. The Point! You have to weigh the risks vs the reward. You have to USE YOU BRAIN and figure out of you've seen 4 perks on the Killer or not.

    5) ...What? Because of 1 Killer, it needs a nerf? No. Your 'points' have shown you don't understand the existence of NoED at all. If NoED did not exist as it does, or if it told people 'I AM IN A MATCH!'; Survivors would know when it's NOT in a match and just genrush safely.

If Survivors knew it was in a match from the start; they would cleanse every totem ASAP and it would NEVER see endgame, which is the ONLY time it works.

It HAS to exist as an unknown factor; that unknown factor is literally the only way to get Survivors off of gens for 5 seconds. And given how many people whine about NoED killing them; it's clear they STILL don't do totems, then expect the perk to be changed so they can continue to not do totems!

It's actually a sign that you lack the skill in any other aspect of the game, and have to resort to standing around a hook for a kill.

    Super talented you are...

Yeah, sure; not giving away my kill in the end game when I literally have nowhere else to be is the BAD idea.

Just more pathetic peer pressure insults in a sad attempt to control how Killers play. Try something new. 😂

  • Rofl, these forums.

Now the Killer can't camp at the start of the match. Or at mid-match. And now, not even at end game, or they're 'bad at the game' and should 'play another game'.

Lordy, some Survivors are so entitled; they just think they should have every unhook handed to them.

Guess what? After gens pop is still 'during a match', so the Killer can still kill you, and camp his kills. Crazy, I know.

But this is more evidence that entitled Survivors invented 'after 5 gens pop' as the arbitrary 'We won' line and actually think this is true. 😂

  • Remove gens.

Make it a respawn/rescue system (If the Killer kills everyone before someone is saved; Survivors lose. If time runs out; Survivors lose.)

Change objectives to be map-based and spread out, so Survivors will usually have to split into smaller groups due to the time limit.

Basically: Make it Last Year, just without the ability to kill the Killers. (The biggest flaw of that game is that the characters can fight back; it's one of the reasons my friends refused to even look at it; what little they DID see was the Students gang-beating the Killers. It removes all horror from it.)

  • 'Fun' is not a balancing factor because of one simple fact: Most people hate to lose.

Yes, the game OVERALL should be fun, but you can't balance Killers based on 'fun' because the Survivors who say '<x> is unfun, nerf' are really saying 'I lost to <x>, therefore it is not fun'.

Do you think those same people would ROFLstomp a Killer and go 'Hmm. We won by a landslide the last 10 times we faced Nemesis, but it was so easy it was not fun; perhaps he needs a buff'?

And before you say 'Yes, they would'; just look at Wraith: He went from trash to mid-tier and Survivors are claiming he's 'unfun'. In fact, ANY killer that gets more than 2 kills on average is called 'unfun, plz nerf'.

So fun is NOT a metric to balance Killers by, because the ones claiming 'unfun' are usually claiming it because they lost. Not for any true balancing reasons.

  • @JoaoVanBlizzard said:

In fact, the problem is not even Noed, what happens is that anything that clearly shows that the player won because of that and not because he played well ends up generating revolt on both sides, and honestly speaking, in the current state that the DBD finds itself, it has a lot to fix.

But I personally think that the noed is not part of them, I think that being knocked down by a chainsaw at the beginning of the match and being chased later is still much more boring than a noed, because there's nothing to do if the killer wants to stand in front of you until you die on the hook.

    The problem is people's mindsets.

People will say 'You used <x> perk, so you did not win right!' or 'You did not play well; the perk did all the work!' or 'You were losing until <x> perk won for you!'

The problem: None of that is true. Survivors don't win when 5 gens pop. Killers don't lose when 5 gens pop. Until Survivors leave the match; they have not won. Perks are MEANT to do specific things; if a Killer or Survivor makes it work & they win, then they won. Period.

But people will continue to say 'You did not win because <x> Killer/Perk is cheap' instead of 'What can I do to not lose next time?' since they don't want to accept that they lost. Their ego screams 'It was the Perk/Killer that did it! Not skill!', so they come onto the forms to scream that whatever killed them should be nerfed so they can play as godly as they know they are in their heart of hearts.

NoED is not Op. Nor is it cheap. Nor does it 'reward failure' because a Killer has not failed until he cannot kill you. As long as a Survivor is on the map; the Killer has not failed to kill them.

This arbitrary 'We won at 5 gens!' mindset needs to go away, and I bet almost no one would whine about NoED anymore. Because the mindset is inventing a flaw with the perk that DOES NOT EXIST. The Killer was not losing, and has not lost, just because 5 gens popped, or the exit gates open.

He only loses once Survivors cross the threshold to leave the map.

  • @Nathan13 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2396970#Comment_2396970

even if they nerfed or removed it there would be no point in doing totems anymore.

Agreed. The thread of NoED is what is supposed to make Survivors leave gens to do totems.

Yet some Survivors don't realize this & want it to clearly note when it's in a match from the start, which would make it basically useless; it would either 100% get cleansed before it procs, or Survivors would ignore totems when it's not in a match.

  • @Nathan13 said:

Survivors have tools to prevent NOED from activating but they don't wanna use them because their second chance perks are more important.

I don't see how one would imply the other, especially in something as innocuous gameplay-wise as additional bp.

PH already has his advantages when using cages.

  • @Bwsted said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2396735#Comment_2396735

WGLF stacks already aren't tied to unhooks exclusively. Cage rescues would just be another activation conditions among many others. This wouldn't introduce any inconsistency with other perks that work on hooks exclusively.

True but I'm just saying, if Survivors have a perk that procs on hooks that works on cages, PH would need one as well. Even if that perk is not exclusive to hooks.

  • @FluffyFlower said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2396720#Comment_2396720

How does it? Like I said I've never camped and getting kills is insanely easy, no killer should ever need to camp. I patrol gens and if I'm close go back to the hook after I hear a rescue. I do that because I know at least half the team is there that translates into kills. I have downed all 4 survivors in the same time I've seen some killers stare at a hook lmao.

Survivors being far away from the hook does not mean a killer should camp. A killer should patrol at that point.

If they're in sight they're in danger. I play huntress I see someone being a stupid in the open they get a hatchet, nurse can blink, clown has gas, demo has pounce, hillbilly and Oni have a rush.. no excuse for a chase to not start or even better a down and hook. Survivors playing like this will easily get downed.

Also if 2 are going to save one hook, one as distraction one as saviour, then think about it they punish themselves by not doing gens, which lengthens the time killer has to hook them again and win. No unhook is free! At least half the team it unhooking, which means half the gen progress.

I will point it out for the...probably 100th time. Congrats. Back when the Struggle Meter was slowed if a Killer 'camped':

    Survivor #1 does gens.

#2 and #3 go to the hook. They stand in opposite directions, so the Killer cannot threaten them both. They ALSO stand so far away that a chase cannot start.

If Killer goes after #2, #2 backs up to prevent a chase from starting. #3 goes towards the hook.

Same if you flip who he goes after.

If Killer resets; Survivors reset. Killer has not started a chase yet (due to distance) so the game penalizes him for 'camping'.

Now, the Killer's choice to to 'camp' & eat the punishment (even though HE IS NOT CAMPING because 2 Survivors are there) or chase one, and give the other a free unhook.

This is why the old punishment was removed; it basically forced the Killer, the supposed 'power role' into a lose/lose situation that Survivors could abuse EVERY TIME the first person was hooked. It was quickly removed.

I'm going to say to you the same thing I say to everyone else who says 'I never camp'; no one cares. Good for you. That does not invalidate that your ideas are pure spite or easy to abuse. That does not mean other Killers cannot camp. That does not mean camping should be punished.

I'm not making this scenario up; this is, literally, what happened. This is not a 'It might happen like this', no. This happened. It is irrefutable fact, and adding a different punishment off the same mechanic would net the same lose/lose result.

So again; no one cares if someone does or does not camp. That does not mean it needs to be removed or punished for everyone else.

  • @FluffyFlower said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2396361#Comment_2396361

No no no, I disagree entirely, a survivor get punished for securing escape by camping, so killers should get the same treatment I'm afraid.

If you just dole out blood points all you get it lazy survivors not playing the game and seeking out killer for a hook. That's insanely open for griefing / abuse.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2396422#Comment_2396422

I regularly get 4ks when playing killer, I have never camped, I sometimes achieve that before 1 gen get gets finished. Camping in main phase has no benefit to killer apart from securing a kill. All it does is waste time for the survivor. I also regularly get between ~25 - 30k points after match regardless of hooking all or not.

There is no killer who benefits from standing there doing nothing for 2 minutes. It's a bad practice and should be punished. The only time camping is a valid tactic is during the gates powered phase through to end game collapse; camping hooks (to stop survivors rescuing), camping gates (to stop survivors escaping), camping hatch (to stop survivors escaping) all valid and good tactics during this time.

Just because you disagree with a tactic does not make you right, or mean it needs a punishment. You are not a guru of game design.

Let me put it another way; Survivors deserve to resume working on gens they nearly completed. Killers deserve to secure kills. WHEN this happens is not up to you to decide.

On top of that; camping punishes itself; if Survivors bang out gens, then the Killer gets ONE kill and depips. Punished. All these 'punishments' are the same thing, again and again; spiteful 'I'm angry with this tactic, so make the Killer suffer' suggestions that have nothing to do with game balance and everything to do with revenge.

Again; you don't get to decide if camping is okay. You don't get to decide of the Killer 'deserved' the kill. You don't get to decide if it's a 'valid tactic'. This is why camping punishments won't work; they are easy to abuse, and could force the Killer into giving up unhooks when he needs to kill someone to apply pressure.

These suggestions need to stop. Camping is a valid tactic, every 'punishment' invented would be easy to abuse, and 99% of them are just spite.

  • @MrDardon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2396602#Comment_2396602

It pisses me off that you don't get WGLF tokens on cages even though it says "safe cage rescue".

At least that could work, since uncaging is riskier than unhooking.

No hook perks work in a cage. This is why it teleports to a random part of the map. Not even Killer hook perks work on the cage.

And if you were going to let any Survivor hook perks work, you'd have to let some Killer hook perks work, too, since it's a Killer power. Imagine PH caging someone & getting BBQ...

  • @FluffyFlower said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2395859#Comment_2395859

Do you not think it's spiteful when a killer camps a survivor from the first hook leaving them with no option but to hang there till death?

It's hardly an abuseable mechanics imo, how do you see it getting abused? (Genuine question, I want to hear the feedback)

If you just give survivors point for getting camped rather than penalising the killer for it, then you open up the possibility of survivors seeking out the killer just so they can be hooked.

Plus I feel I'd given this a fair amount of thought and it just punishes those that always camp, rather than a weary killer, plus I did say camping is a tactic that is used and beneficial when gates are powered / opened, hence why it would only be active during main (gen) phase.

Every single one of your suggestions falls into the same problem 'slow the struggle timer' had:

Survivors can force the Killer to either camp to protect his kill by staying too far away for a Chase to start, but visibly out in the open, or make him chase one Survivor so another gets a free unhook. This is EXACTLY how the old anti-camp punishment was abused.

And that is also exactly why anti-camp punishments won't work; they force the Killer into a lose/lose choice; eat the punishment, or allow a free unhook. And unhooks should not be free.

  • @McFALLENONE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2394635#Comment_2394635

It's ridiculous that a game about literally murdering people has censored chat because someone got their feelings hurt, I have never been toxic in dbd chat, even though I've "never ran afoul" I still hate this change and will still talk about it. When I can't even tell the difference between Roblox chat and dbd chat that's when I start getting worried, Roblox is a children's game, so a chat filter makes sense to protect them, But dbd is a mature game with mature themes, so a chat filter that's almost equally aggressive as Roblox is telling of what they think of us. If you don't want to be harassed in chat then LEAVE, turn off your computer and go do something else, no one is forcing you to look at it.

Oh, I agree DBD's chat is a bit aggressive. But I will forever disagree with anyone who says 'Get thicker skin' or 'Stop being offended', because that's victim blaming & passing the blame.

It's usually said by people who WANT to be offensive, and then blame their target for getting offended. Trust me; I heard all the excuses for years, when I was an admin for NoX back in the Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault: Spearhead days and then EGO for Team Fortress 2.

It was always excuses as to why <x> person was not at fault for being racist or making lewd comments at female gamers; it was their targets fault for getting offended. Or it was 'freedom of speech' being squashed because <x> player lived in the US, or because the servers were hosted in the US. People even threatened to sue, either the banning admin or the clan as a whole. 🙄

So again; I'm not saying the chat censor is not oddly aggressive. I'm just saying that BHVR can, from a legal standpoint, put in any chat filter they want.

And I'm ALSO preemptively saying that victim blaming when someone says something inflammatory is a load of bunk. It's not 'your fault' if someone says something vile to you & you don't like it, you know? Because 'freedom of speech' is not 'freedom from consequences'.

I treat free speech like a handgun; you can legally have one, but it's YOUR FAULT if it discharges and hurts someone. It's not the victims fault that someone waved their gun (speech) around and shot (offended) them.

  • No.

Just give the Survivor 'Struggle' or 'Distraction' points. End of story. We don't need spiteful, or abuseable, mechanics. Just no.

  • I like them both being yellow; if ToT was it's own color, then Surivvors would swarm the regressing gen & any Killer using it would barely see any use out of it.

It would be: Kick, walk halfway across the map, Survivor gentaps regressing gen, Survivor runs away. Killer has now lost ToT and will not even have any scratch marks to follow by the time he gets back to the gen.

So I think them being the same color was deliberate, so Survivors would not instantly know 'this gen needs to be tapped'.

  • @BigKuhfahl said:

So you're saying that the Face Camping Huntress that I just went against is 100% ok to get confirm kills because if so then hate to say that is a trashy playstyle that ended screwing them over in the end after they complained about why they depipped as back to rank 12 because they thought that how they played was a good strategy in the game which sorry to say it is not

Also, love how I have talked about playing both sides multiple times, and seems that most people ignore that and only focus on the point of when I played Survivor but its cool LMAO

JFC. How often do I need to say it?

Camping punishes itself by giving the Killer 1 or maybe 2 kills (if Survivors play badly). This is all the 'punishment' it needs.

That Huntress got her 'punishment' when she depipped, as she should. I never ######### said camping should give Killers a 4K or anything.

The Huntress camped, Survivors did gens, Huntress depipped. As it should be.

But if Survivors swarmed the hook & the camp turned into a 3-4K? ALSO HOW IT SHOULD BE.

Survivors would have fed the camper, and the camper would have had an easy game. But it would have been the Survivor's fault for playing badly.

The problem being; Survivors will swarm a hook 0.05 seconds after a Killer hooks someone, then screech that they 'camped'.

Or the Killer will legit camp, and 2 Survivors will start circling the hook like morons, the Killer will down them for BEING morons, and they will scream onto these forums with how 'camping needs a punishment!' because they can't comprehend that they fed the Killer. No, it's never their fault; the Killer CAMPED and MADE THEM go for the unhook!

But what you described is EXACTLY HOW IT SHOULD BE. Because if Survivors do gens, and the Killer depips? THEY WILL STOP CAMPING.

Killers only keep camping because Survivors feed them, then scream how it's not their fault, and camping is 'OP' and somehow magically teleports them to the Killer for downs. And how the Killer can somehow camp NoED AND the hook at the same time because <vague reasons>.

But Killers getting 1 kill & depipping? That's literally all the 'punishment' there needs to be. All this bullshit about making the Killer blind, or slowing him down, or preventing attacks, or stealing his BP, or teleporting him away from the hook, or teleporting the hook; It's all petty garbage, or it's abuseable or otherwise will screw over the Killer in the end game.

I mean, imagine hooking someone, and the hook randomly teleports in front of the open exit gate, or across the map as a 110ms Killer.

Or imagine Survivors running you around the hook, so you lose BP. Or running you around until you go blind, or can't attack, and then they get a free save. Or the hook progress freezes (already tried; not coming back.).

That is why I'm against 'punishments' past the built-in depipping and lack of kills (If Survivors stop being greedy for unhooks); because it's either abuseable, broken trash, or pure 'Screw you' spite towards the Killer. NONE of it is balanced. You think the devs have not spent the last 3+ years (at least) thinking of and discarding various 'anti-camping' methods? Do you really think they just said 'all's good' and stopped?

I would bet money (If I was not a broke joke) that they have tossed around every idea seen on these forums, and probably a few more besides. If they had figured out a way to fix camping without screwing over either side immensely; they would have thrown it on the PTB by now. Like they tried with the 'struggle timer does not move' idea that was once, literally, in the game, and was abused to high hell by Survivors.

  • Survivors: They should buff some of the weaker killers to give us more Killers to fight other than the top 3!

    BHVR buffs Wraith

    Survivors: Wait, no!

Unlike you, I play both killer and survivor almost equally. And when I get 3k, I don't slug, because I don't want to waste anyone's time (including my own) on these childish attempts to seem powerful and almighty. I'm here to play the game, not to assert myself.

Rofl. And going for a 4K is always childish and someone needing to flex their ego? What about just trying to win because people wanna win?

Oh right; Killers aren't allowed to do that. Trying for the 4K is 'toxic' and 'childish' and whatever other bullshit Survivors invent because they can't accept the loss. Just pathetic attempts at peer pressure to control how Killers play, because Survivors feel entitled to control the flow of the game.

Now you are imagining quite a lot of things there. I didn't call OP anything, I said locking a player for 4 extra minutes in AFK-state just to annoy them is quite toxic. Try playing survivor sometimes, you'll know what I mean.

I play Survivor and Killer, though I admittedly play Killer more.

Unlike the complainers on this forum; I don't get upset when I'm tunneled, camped, or slugged, because I'm smart enough to know they are tools in the Killer's toolbelt to be used to win.

Try playing Killer sometimes; you'll stop complaining about how unfair life is when the Killer does not automatically stop at 3 kills, as per the Survivor's Handbook For Killers: Whiny Edition.

Imagine being upset with winning. Imagine saying that trying to survive is "insulting the opponent".

Imagine being upset that they want to kill everyone instead of letting someone go because 'muh fee-fees!'.

Imagine thinking someone deserves to get away just because...vague Survivor entitlement.

You called the OP toxic for 'going for the 4K', that's called 'being insulting'. I know it's probably shocking to you.

Imagine countering "be happy with 3k" with "be happy with dying".

Imagine being upset that you died. In a game where you can die.

Imagine being so entitled, you think you can shame/insult the opponent for wanting to win. Oh, you don't have too; that's what you did.

  • @Junylar said:

Yeah, except the killer has already won with 3k, but he wants to be toxic and waste 4 more minutes of the survivors' time by refusing to participate in regular gameplay.

And there it is 'Be happy with the 3K', folks. Killers are toxic if they want a full win. Just cater to Survivors, put Survivor feelings first, and stop trying for a 4k, because Survivors said so!

Dude, if you aren't able to have a rational, objective conversation without blanket-insulting people why do you even forum? I've seen your posts time and again and the hostility towards anyone who doesn't agree with you is borderline obsessive. We get it. You have an unnatural and unhealthy hatred for people who play survivor and whom criticize anything they do. SURVIVOR BAD. KILLER SAINT.

Just state your opinion without the aggression and insults. We all play the same game. Most of us don't want to ruin your fun.

People can disagree with me. And I never said 'Killers good, Survivors bad!' What drives me nuts is that I get told a million Survivor-invented rules I have to follow, or Survivors insult me in game. People on these very forums have said they blast the Killer if the Killer is 'toxic first', even if that 'toxic' action happens to be 'the Killer won'.

And then I come to the forums and find MORE Survivors trying to change the base mechanics of the game because they hate to lose, and those survivors call ME entitled. They want to change the game to ######### over Killers, but I'm entitled?

I can't abide hypocrisy, and that what these threads are; Survivors claiming tunneling and camping are evil things that should result in -32534378756 BP for the Killer (I have seen people suggest 'The Survivor gets the Killer's BP if he camps' before) but gen speeds and toolboxes and gen-stacking are fine.

It's hypocrisy, and I will point it out every time someone does it. Because Survivors want to alter how Killers play, because Killers are 'toxic', but ask those same Survivors 'Is twerking or clicky-clicky toxic?' and they will say 'no'. Because they are biased.

It's even in another thread, where someone says 'Slugging for the 4K is toxic' and 'You already have a 3K'. They are basically shaming a Killer for wanting a full win and acting like the Killer has to stop trying because it makes Survivors sad.

    It's a filthy double standard.

The point with noed and camping is that you need to do gens to counter camping if you cant unhook. So you have no time for totems.

The best way would be to make noed weaker if the killer does only facecamp the entire match.

If the Killer is camping, then look for totems. Or do gens. There is, literally, no reason to punish an accepted tactic other than Survivors want to spite Killers for breaking the rulebook.

Survivors sniveling about camping day in and day out is cringe, so I will be cringe back.

Welcome to the forums. Don't try to snap at everything that offends you. I see these topics myself & most of the time I choose to ignore them, unless there's something else discussed within. Also, fighting cringe with cringe? Really... Like fighting fire with fire has ever worked out around here. In your situation, all this did was make this more cringe....ugh

I do these things myself, but I have a strategy in mind at least or when the opportunity arises. Just gotta do what u gotta do. I got tunneled yesterday by a nurse for example after our first encounter lasted 2-3 min. I didn't have DS to punish the tunneling, unfortunately. This lost her the game with me dead & 3 escapes. The absolute determination she had in finding & killing me after my 1st & 2nd hook was... really really impressive...We were playing on Midwich of all things, which is a very good nurse map. Managed to piss her off even more in endgame chat... somehow...

Fair enough. I get tunneled and camp when I play Survivor, and I usually just laugh. It just baffles me, the mindset some people must have 'I lost to <x>, therefore <x> is unfair and HAS TO BE CHANGED!'

That's rare though. I often slow down a little and allow absolutely free unhooks if survivors are really struggling. But when I'm struggling as a killer, survs don't do it. They smash the gens and leave.

This. I have been playing since the game launched back in 2016 and I have NEVER had a Survivor give me a hook. They always twerk out the Gates and 'ezgg baby Killer'.

And yet, on these forums, they ALSO claim Killers should: Give the final Survivor the hatch (you know; 'Be happy with a 3K' and 'Stop sweating for the 4K'), stop using good perks, stop using good Killers, stop using <insert tactic here>, stop being a 'tryhard' or 'toxic.

And speaking of 'toxic'; they clicky-click, and twerk, and bodyblock and emote to anger me, and 'It's in the game! Get thicker skin!'.

But if I'm near the hook for 0.0000000000000000003 seconds after hooking a Survivor. Even if a friend is 3 feet away, waiting in line to unhook them: 'WWWAAAAH! Camper! Stop being toxic! Change the game, devs! 😥😥😥 '

Leaving those issues at the side, what should be punished is deliberate & brainless camping at 4-5 gens for no reason & especially with killers like Bubba who can 100% trade a hook.

The clapping emote makes this cringe, ngl.

Survivors sniveling about camping day in and day out is cringe, so I will be cringe back. They ignore every single fact thrown at them about why you can't punish it, and yet they push it all aside to go 'B-but..I don't wanna lose! I mean, be camped! CHANGE THE GAME! 😥'

    'Plenty of counters!'

Literally only counter is genrushing. And it's hilarious you mention NOED in the same post since that has the opposite, mutually exclusive counter, so if someone is camping with NOED, the whole thing just sort of eats itself.

There's that vague reasons why NoED rewards camping!

I mean, the Killer would have to camp a hook AND camp EVERY SINGLE TOTEM at the same time, but Survivor mains will insist this happens because they want to complain!

  • It's literally not possible to code something that can read INTENT.

The game sees 'This connection disappeared'. It can't tell if it's from a power outage, you leaving because a family member fell, or someone rage-quitting 'because Spirit'. It's, literally, impossible to tell them apart. It's all just 'Connection went away' to the game.

  • @Firellius said:

If Survivors do gens; the Killer gets 1, MAYBE 2 kills anyways

    This is the exact problem.

The killer chooses to play as little as they can. It shouldn't be a '1, maybe 2' scenario (not counting NOED which can easily make things worse), it should be a 'maybe 1, but definitely nothing more' scenario. It needs to not even be close to a viable strat. Even by your own admission, it is either dangerously close or already there.

And as I keep saying, it's a matter of overall balance as well since there's a ton of things BHVR can't do without also, as collateral damage, making camping more effective.

You want gen speeds slowed down? You want 'second chance perks' nerfed?

    Tough.

Camping exists. Anything killers want is invalidated by that single fact.

Rofl. Just because you dislike camping does not mean it needs to be a 'maybe 1, but nothing more' strat, dude.

Christ, the Survivor mains on this forum seem to be blessed with this invincible conviction that their made up rules need to be hard rules.

Fact: Camping is a strat. Camping is allowed.

Also fact: Survivors can't stand losing, and want to prevent Killers from winning, so they keep whining like children about how 'unfair' it is that they can be removed from the game.

Boo hoo. The fact that the Killer can kill comes as a surprise to NO ONE except whiny Survivors who think the game revolves around them.

Camping is fine. Reward the Survivor with 'Distraction' BP. End of story. Stop ######### whining.

    @Power_Guy

Maybe you need to have a hard look in the mirror, because as far as I am concerned you're the only one who is coming off "entitled" in these forums.

You see suggestions with legitimate reasons as "I just don't like it" because again the only entitled person here, is YOU.

    Goodbye

Yeah, sure. I'm entitled because you say so, while you, and others, demand the game be changed to enforce your Survivor's Rulebook. But demanding the game be changed because you want it is not being entitled. Sure.

    😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I see Survivors pitching temper tantrums. There has been 0 'legitimate reasons' other than 'Because we say so'. But again; entitled Survivors think what they want is how it should be.

    Bye! 👍️

Camping doesn't make any perk stronger, corrupt buys early time to get the first down and camp, it makes survivors have to run to find a gen to waste time. Also encourages a survivor to try save because their gen was blocked.

Thana just slows the game down, once again buying time. Time is important

Noed. If they dint get the totems (which takes time) you get insta down M1. Even if you lose 5 gens by the first camped player dead you will know the location and like have noed

Bamboozle just to push pallets maybe get a down faster.

Camp all you want, just dont act like it should be rewarded. It's not skillful or entertaining.

I PLAY KILLER. I just dont camp, it's why I'm rank 1 still 4 years later.

If you're camping, they can do totems unopposed. I love this magical thinking that Survivors somehow will be prevented from cleansing NoEd while a Killer camps because of vague reasons they can't actually describe.

Also; no one cares how you play Killer. That does not mean everyone has to play the same way. It's in no way some statement about how all Killers should play. So I don't know why you said it.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

There should be more options for SURVIVORS outside of perks in order to counter hard-Camping.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2394593#Comment_2394593

    @Firellius

Don't bother with that guy, he has a track record for calling survivors entitled in most of his posts along with calling players on here "survivor mains" even though he has 0 evidence or doesn't know what he is talking about.

'There should be more options for SURVIVORS outside of perks in order to counter hard-Camping.'

So you're asking for Survivors to have built-in mechanics (the only thing outside of Perks) to counter what they CALL 'hard camping'.

I'd stop calling Survivors entitled if they stopped asking for entitled crap like 'I want built-in mechanics that allow me to punish a totally legitimate play style because I don't like it'.

  • At that point, you're trying to keep the entity from literally killing you.

  • Just gonna put this out there: Freedom of speech is protection against the GOVERNMENT silencing you for opinions on it. Game companies are private businesses, and their servers are private property; they can enforce any language rules they want.

Also; freedom of speech is not freedom from punishment.

Also; 99% of the time I see someone say 'People need thicker skin', what they REALLY mean is 'I want to be toxic and blame my target for getting offended instead of learn to control my anger'.

Source: I admined/modded various gaming forums & servers for 15 years. Every time, the people saying 'get thicker skin' or 'freedom of speech' were the ones breaking our 'No racism & No harassment' rules. Those who never ran afoul of the rules never cared, for obvious reasons.

Corrupt, thana, noed, bamboozle bubba can get 2 killer easy every game by camping the first hook and never moving, so yes play styles like that shouldn't be rewarded.

But within my 4+years of play this game I cant say I have ever been punished by those points for being near a hook at end game or passing by one, kicking a gen etc. In fact most killers if they get a hook and a slug near can freely stand near the hook.

Maybe you just camp and stay near hooks more than you should. Theres a time and a place, at the start or while no one is there mid trial is pointless and just bad game sense

Really? You're going to say CORRUPT rewards camping? it's a start of match perk that stops after 2 minutes, AND there is still gens Survivors can do.

Thana rewards the Killer spreading out his damage with more slowdown than if he just camps. Nice try, though.

NoED only procs in the end game and can easily be cleaned if the Killer camps. Again; nice try.

Bamboozle only works if a Survivor goes for the unhook instead of..oh..doing gens or bones.

Literally every perk you listed is actually made stronger if the Killer does NOT camp, or is negated if he DOES camp. More Survivor lies to invent problems. Just accept that camping is a valid tactic instead of inventing easily disputed lies.

  • @Firellius said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2394500#Comment_2394500

My dude, you are hard defending a method that's literally the killer going 'I know I only did a third of the work, give me the full reward anyway'.

Calling survivors entitled over wanting to play the game is... unique.

Camping won't get fixed by 'incentives'. At least give the camped survivor the satisfaction that no one else dies.

If Survivors do gens; the Killer gets 1, MAYBE 2 kills anyways. But Survivors stop doing gens and camp the hook nearby, then whine and snivel and blubber that Killers are winning with an 'OP' tactic.

Survivors can literally punish camping, but decide the hook is more important, and demand the devs change the game to give them the unhook they want. That is entitlement. They think they are ENTITLED to every unhook they want.

The Killer is allowed to kill Survivors. At any time. There's no arbitrary time limit (after a gen pops, after 4 gens pop, during EGC) on when he can kill except the bullshit Survivors keep inventing.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

I'm a survivor main because I dont think camping is an issue but should be punished if it's not after all gens are done? The above comment decides to give up, camping straight away will not help you get better, if you're camping when no one is near you arent doing anything or improving. My suggestion punishes killers that just sit at a hook even if no one is there, that shouldn't be rewarded lol

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2394543#Comment_2394543

It really is small, unless you're doing nothing but camping or "proxy" camping as people say, once again though it's one category and why should campers be rewarded?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2394486#Comment_2394486

If everyone comes to help sure, but if you're camping that early then it's an issue on your gen and means they're off gens, if it's a 1 or two getting the save then its usually a trade.

    Camping. 👏 Should. 👏 Not. 👏 Be. 👏 Mechanically. 👏 Punished. 👏

Survivors punish or reward it by doing gens or rushing the hook like lemmings. Those asking for some bullshit game-enforced punishment are demanding the devs cater to their made up rules and views on camping, tunneling, and slugging. They are thinking they are so entitled to an unhook that they want to force the Killer to give it to them, or be punished for daring to go against their made up rules.

    Here's the thing AGAIN:

If there's a 'camping' proximity punishment; Survivor will abuse it. We know this because there WAS, and Survivors abused it.

I don't care if some Survivor main scampers in and goes 'I don't see how it can be abused' because it was. This is not open for debate; It happened. It's a fact that Survivor abused a mechanic designed to punish Killers for 'camping' so badly, that it was quickly removed.

Think about that; not throwing shade on the devs but do they quickly fix anything that's not immensely game-breaking? But the punishment was so abused that it went away so fast, it left a sonic boom in its wake.

'I personally dont mind camping so much, but i can understand that a facecamping killer from the start is boring. But camping has its uses to win the game and you shouldnt limit the killer in his options too much.'

And there it is, the justification of every killer main to camp, because the devs allow it.

Calling a face camp 'boring' is certainly a more positive take.

This is where you see the killer entitlement on the forums while watching the devs encourage that entitlement. While seeing said killers complain about entitled survivors on a forum dominated by killers. Oh the irony.

    gg devs gg

Rofl. Imagine thinking Killers using a tactic that's accepted by the devs is 'entitlement' while completely ignoring all the Survivor babies screaming for punishments & changed mechanics to cater to them & force the Killers to play by their made up rules.

The real entitlement is the bad Survivor players demanding the game be changed because they don't like losing.

  • JFC. Camping should never be punished. That's the suggestion of people who just want to spite Killers, not balance the game.

Just give the camped Survivor BP for being camped, and make more Killer perks that encourage leaving the hook. Nothing else.

'Punishments' are unneeded and every one suggested (from slow/stop the timer, to stop gaining BP, to giving the Survivor the Killer's BP, to making the Killer blind, or move slower, or attack slower) are just spite-filled, bad ideas.
