It does suck to be faced with that situation, but in a normal game if two survivors have to go for the save, you're already putting out a lot of pressure and you're doing well. Think of it like this: even in that situation where you have to essentially give up the hook, you are trading it out for the other survivor's hook state. That's progress for you. Even in that situation, the survivors had to put themselves at risk, and you got something out of the camp (injuries, or even a down). You can even still grab someone when they try to unhook. The only thing that doesn't happen is one poor survivor getting screwed out of actually playing the game.
I do think fully stopping it would be the wrong call, I just think proxy camping and especially face camping should be a last resort because it's not fun gameplay and this game is supposed to be fun. The change would encourage more chases, encourage more interaction with all players in a match, and generally make the game more dynamic. It would make it slightly harder for killers who play around the hook, but I think, honestly, it should be harder than it is, given how powerful it can be.
You encourage chases by ENCOURAGING them, not punishing the Killer.
And Survivors were far enough away that the Killer is giving up an unhook to start a 3 minute chase that he would probably have to leave to pressure gens, not counting the myriad of second-chance perks that are meta these days.
The Killer has a right to secure his kill as killing is his objective.
His objective is not asking the Survivors if they played enough, or had enough fun. He's not part of a questionnaire where Survivors are asked 'was the Killer mean?'.
His objective removes Survivors from the game. All these punishment ideas are based on the same erroneous thinking; that the Killer should not be allowed to kill them until they have had <x> fun.
'I did not get to play!' Yes you did; you got to try to Kobe, and you had the Struggle Mechanic. This warcry of Survivor mains actually means 'I did not get to complete gens & escape'. They considering being hooked 'Not playing' in the same way they say 'NoED rewards losing' because they think popping 5 gens is 'winning'.
Give hooked Survivors 'Distraction' points if the Killer camps. Give the Killer more strong perks that reward leaving the hook. But JFC, DO NOT PUNISH A TACTIC JUST BECAUSE YOU DON"T LIKE IT!
-
Also; you can hear Wraith stomp around like a toddler told 'No cookies before dinner' and snarling like a demon told 'No souls before dinner'.

You have a survivor on hook, another survivor is around. You chase the other survivor. Results:
You down the survivor coming for the save. You now have two people on hook. Good job.
You can't down the other survivor, the hooked survivor doesn't die. This is you unable to win a chase, not survivor abuse.
You chase the other survivor away from the hooked survivor to down them, letting survivors get the unhook, which is normal gameplay.
You refuse to chase and camp, and survivors do gens. This is normal gameplay.
I don't see how it can be abused, but please do elaborate. Even in this situation, you can still harass the people coming for saves and even get downs. All it does is prevent you from facecamping eternally and being rewarded.
Fine. Here we go again.
Survivor #4 is hooked. Survivor #3 works on gens.
Survivors #1 & #2 go to the hook. They stand in opposite directions. They also stand far enough away that the Killer cannot start a Chase. The game now thinks the Killer is camping.
The Killer moves towards #1; #1 moves away, so no Chase starts. #2 moves towards the hook. Killer resets at hook. Survivors reset to their positions. Game still thinks Killer is 'Camping' and no Survivors are nearby, because Survivors are too far away for the game to say 'There is a Chase!'
Same if he goes after #2.
The Killer now has 2 choices:
- Commit to a chase. This will give the unchased Survivor an unhook, even if the Killer does not want this.
- Keep camping; Hooked Survivor is immune to dying, so Generator Survivor has infinite time to do gens.
The Killer's choices are basically: Give free unhook, or throw the match. It was a lose/lose choice that he was forced into making.
At this point; I don't care if people say 'I don't see how it can be abused' because guess what? It was tried and it was abused.
Literally, this idea existed in game, and it was abused EXACTLY like I just wrote it. So I don't care if short-sighted Survivors 'can't see it being abused' because what they 'can't see' (or more likely, IGNORE) has 0 bearing that it. Was. Abused.
It's not coming back. There will be no pausing or slowing the hook timer, because SURVIVORS ABUSED THAT MECHANIC.

There should be some built-in mechanism to fight camping, but like others have said, I don't think this would work, as much as I wish it would. I think personally the simplest solution is just, to be silly, an "entity doesn't like you watching" rule. If the killer is too close to hook, the timer won't go down, or goes down at half speed. That suffering is for her and her alone, Bubba! Go kill someone else.
'Β If the killer is too close to hook, the timer won't go down, or goes down at half speed'
For the 500th time; this was tried. Survivors abused it.

But usually in egc both gates are open are 99ed, so letting someone to trade hooks are very hard because of so many second chance perks, hooked survivors is going get unhooked and probably going have bt, ds, and their exhaustion perks are usually back up after they get unhooked. Unless you have noed you basically hurting yourself giving survivors room to unhook during egc, especially if you hook near a gate. Besides if theyβre a swf they can easily coordinate a unhook against a camping killer
Honestly, I still think 99 gates should be impossible. I think it should degrade to 90 or 85% over time. Of course, the amount can be changed for balance.

This response is for you as well as Power_Guy down there. It would make queue times a bit longer for certain problematic killers, but that is why there is only one single ban per player/group. I know, personally, my group would not ban nurse, because we enjoy going against her. There are numerous killers I could imagine a group banning. Nurse, Spirit, Deathslinger, Wraith, or even more common killers that they might just incidentally be sick of facing again and again one particular day. There are a great many killers, and single bans would not impact all of them that much. You can't ban all of them, only one, and everyone has a different opinion about which killer is the worst. Some people would ban Clown ffs.
And anyway, in my post, I made mention of exceptions for long queue times, which was meant as a solution to this exact problem. I imagine if such a system were implemented, it might still put banned killers against survivors that have banned them if the queue was getting too long. I think that's fair.
Again, no. Survivors should not get to pick who the Killer can and cannot play. And this is a method of doing that.
It would be like Killers being able to pan a perk (since banning a Survivor is useless); imagine if you were told you can't use DH, or BT or DS because the Killer lobby your joined banned it. Or if your queue times inflate because those perks are banned by 1000's of Killers each.
'If there are insta-DC Killers' it's because people are babies. Survivors want a Killer who is loopable for 5 minutes, or has a weak power, so they can win. So they DC against any Killer they deem 'unfair' and blame the game, the Killer, or anything but themselves instead of sucking it up like a big boy.
No.

I hate the trend of them adding killers that are oppressive in the 1vs1 but struggle in the 1vs4
Well, think about it; Survivors would RIOT.
You have a Killer strong in the 1V4, then he makes it a 1v3, then 1v2, and then 1v1. As the numbers shrink, he gets stronger and stronger because he's meant to counter 4 Survivors at the same time.
Survivors would play one match, then scream onto the forums demanding he be nerfed into the ground because he's 'OP' and 'Unfun' and 'Uncounterable'.

I think it would be better if there was something similar to Steve's Comradarie that would be put in effect when a killer camps. So like if a killer is within a certain set range of the hook, the hook timer pauses or goes MUCH slower which would result in them losing all 5 gens. That way they can't face camp, but proxy camping might still work.

I agree that some forms of camping are legit but facecamping should have a major penalty of some sort like no depip for the survivor due to it. It's not fair to punish the survivor for a trash killers actions. If there are survivors around the hook then it's a defensive strategy but there is absolutely no strategy to facecamping and is usually a guaranteed loss. Plus if you read the "rules" of the game camping and tunneling are not bannable but if you forcefully prevent a player from playing it's a bannable offense...which is what facecamping is, so BHVR just needs to actually enforce it.
If they player got hooked; they are still playing the game. The hook state is part of playing the game, regardless of how long the player is on the hook. ######### is with Survivors thinking 'I don't get to play when I'm hooked!' lately? π€¦ββοΈ
You can try to Kobe in Phase 1, and you can hit skillchecks in Phase 2. You are playing another aspect of the game. UNLIKE if you were bodyblocked in a corner, at which point you can't remove yourself or interact with any mechanics in the game itself.
-
Not the Killer's fault if Survivors think they deserve free unhooks, Survivors think that the Killer should be forced to 12 hook, that 5 gens can pop in sub-5 minutes, and we have to use what tactics we can to even START swinging the momentum of a match, and yet Survivors can't cope with this.
Bye! ποΈ

Itβs completely reasonable to take another chase. If you hooked them in a smart place you should be able to get another down or at least 3 more hits if they body block well.
Only baby killers think that one kill matters, and camping hook is the βonly place to goβ, if you have a free chase then take it. Getting upset at flashlight spam is also just silly.
If you want to camp your butt off, go for it, itβs your game to do so.
Only baby Survivors expect the Killer to leave a kill when the exit gates are open, which, with many meta Survivor perks, means he will not be able to re-hook that Survivor, and probably give up the kill.
But that's what your post is; shaming Killers into playing stupid so Survivors can get away.
The exit gates are open; the Killer would be stupid to give up one kill for the possibility of another. But the Survivor mantra 'It'S oNlY oNe KiLl! StOp SwEaTiNg! π€ͺ' always hangs heavy in the endgame collapse. But it's never 'It's only one escape; stop trying to leave!' Nope! Only the Killer is supposed to let off the throttle.
'Stop sweating the kills at 5 gens!'
'Stop going for ONE KILL when the gates are powered! It's only one kill! π±'
It's like Survivors think they can't be hooked before 1 gen pops and after the fifth gen pops (Look at all the NoED 'The Killer already lost if the gens pop!' BS), and actually expect Killers to follow these made up rules. Because it makes the game easier for them.
-
I have it happen every time as well.
It's like they think Killers should be forced to hit them when they have BT, and be forced to ignore them when it runs out. They basically think 'I'm allowed to make smart plays, but my opponent is not, because that's not fair!'

So instead of one guy getting slugged for 4 minutes and then hold hostage and forced to sell out the other survivor so the other survivor dies and the guy who got slugged for 4 minutes escapes - the one guy decides to leave the already lost game to move on, giving the other survivor the hatch. And that's bad behaviour?
When a Killer has already won the game but he has to be sure to get all, he is allowed to do the most unfun, boring, game holding hostage playstyle while also violating the game rules? But a survivor just moving on, passing this whole 10 minutes showdown for nothing while also getting punished for at least 5 minutes is not okay?
And again. Always complaining just from their entilted pov instead of rewatching it from all sides.
I tell you something. As Killer I just don't care bc I won. The Hatch isn't a "oh yea well but the survivors won bc they technically escaped" No. The Hatch is just a mechanic to make games not pointless to play if there is no realistic chance to get all 5 gens done. You should learn why the Hatch exists and stop making rules for literally everything you don't like.
Rofl. Imagine being so biased that you think it's fine to cheat the Killer out of kills because he filled your arbitrary 'He already won' requirement, and should let the others go. Or stop 'holding the game hostage'. When, again; it's not, but Survivors will use anything they can to throw temper tantrums.
Imagine thinking the Killer should not win if it's in some way Survivors don't approve of, as per Survivor Handbook 4th Ed.
Imagine thinking Survivors should see the Killer in the lobby, so they can 100% pick perks that counter that Killer every single time.
Imagine equating lobby dodging to DCing (a punishable action) to give someone the hatch (exploiting a game mechanic to cheat the Killer out of kills.)
I bet, if the Killer had a way to DC & deny Survivors points in the process; Survivors would be up in arms. But Survivors are allowed to DC for hatch, denying the Killer 2 kills. Oh 'BuT hE aLReAdY wOn! π€ͺ' so he should be happy.

I think that since the title contains "No/Low Cooldowns", and that the post contained 4 additional "Low Cooldowns" that I wouldn't need to reply to that. I do still feel that it's blatantly obvious what "Low Cooldowns" means, since I noted the cooldown times in relation to Spirit's cooldown times, so I will only reply to you with this blisteringly sarcastic retort instead of giving you the definition of "Low Cooldowns". Does that help any?
Ohh, blisteringly sarcastic. π
You're basically saying 'I don't think Those Killer's powers are bad enough, make the Killers worse'. not every Killer has to be compared to every other Killer. You can't compare Freddy to Nurse, for example, and say 'Freddy has <x> cooldown on his gen teleport, so Nurse should have the same!'
Or compare Freddy to Trapper and say 'Trapper has to pick up his traps, so Freddy should have to somehow pick up his Dream Snares!'
Plus, they each have a cooldown of sorts, but you're asking for a cooldown atop a cooldown, because you don't think it's enough. Again; you want to nerf them into the dirt. It's obvious to anyone who reads your post. The fact that you call them all 'broken' shows where your intent is.

Change the gen system so Survivor shave to look for parts to put in the gen. THEN they hit a skillcheck to determine how much progress is made. This accomplishes multiple things:
- No more 'mindlessly holding M1' that Survivors find boring.
- They have to keep on their toes, as they have to go parts-hunting which leads to
- They are moving around, which makes it more likely they will be seen, which increases chases, which Survivors claim are fun.
Rummaging in Parts Piles is like rummaging in a Chest. Parts can be Big or Small:
- Big Parts reward more progress than Small Parts
- Carrying Big Parts slows Survivors down (Or does not allow exhaustion Perks; using one will make the Survivor drop the Big Part while the perk activates as normal)
There; fixed. More interactive, less 'mindless', and more chases.
-

*Proceeds to list every mobility Killer that has cooldowns*

People don't ruin the game by DCing. When someone has to DC, even taking that 2-pip and no-BP penalty, it means the game is already ruined by something. People don't DC from a good and interesting game. Ruined game makes people DC, not the other way around.
And yet another person claiming people only DC if they have some vague reason to do so.
- Being found first
- The Killer playing someone they don't like
- The map being a disliked map
- The Killer using perks they don't like
- Being hit first
- Being hooked first
- Too many gens popping before the Killer finds someone
- Being Dead Hard'd
- Being D.Strike'd

The player base on this game isn't strong enough to support DC bans. If you look at the achievements, you can infer a lot of new people enter the game, but very few stick around for even a couple of months. For example, the Nerves of Steel achievement on Steam (total of 500 successful skill checks) shows only 27.4% have completed this. 500 skill checks is not a lot in this game. You can look at Handyman (total of 100 full repairs - that's cumulative not 100 discreet gens) and it's at 28.5%. Until they have a larger - consistent - long term - player base, they have to balance DC bans versus possibly permanently turning people away.
I do agree with a prior comment that long lobby times turn people off. I have friends who won't play because of this and the BM'ing and post-game chat toxicity (yes, yes we all know you can turn that off). IMO, until they address jerks and queue times, we'll continue to have DCs.
We've had DC bans for a long time now. The only people screaming to keep it off once the crashes are fixed are the ones who would abuse the <wibblety> out of no DC penalty. They are basically demanding a way to ragequit for free & ruin any game they aren't winning from beginning to end.

So, I'll just say I'm a killer main to start, so its not like some self serving ideology.
Maybe I wasn't clear, or maybe im confused by what you guys mean. What I was suggesting for hook states is that there is 60 seconds you can be on the hook before you reach the next hook stage. The suggestion is if the killer is within ~6 meters of the hook, the survivor that's on it simply has the hook meter go down at half the rate. The only real punishment to the killer is that if he stands right in front of the hook, it will take longer to "secure the kill" and give survivors more time to work gens.
I guess I see a bit of a drawback for the less campy killers if they hook and immediately have multiple survivors rush to unhook. "The bait the unhook to try to make you swing" type situation would last twice as long, but those are honestly pretty rare and I have never seen that situation go on more than 30 seconds. But if that's the problem, then what if the hook timer goes down as normal if an unhooked survivor is within ~12 meters? Otherwise, what's the issue?
@BrokenSouI buddy, if emblem point loss for hook camping would put you in purple or green ranks from red ranks, you very well may not belong in the red ranks. Sure, sometimes you gotta camp in those clutch moments, but it doesn't sound like that's what you're talking about
What you are also not realizing is Survivors will chase the Killer around the hook to cause that -50% Hook Rate, so other Survivors can do gens.
Or, as I have said to EVERY 'Hook Rate/Camping' Thread, they will do WHAT THEY DID WHEN HOOK RATES WERE SLOWED VIA 'CAMPING' THAT WAS IN THE GAME:
Survivors 1 & 2 stand far away from the hook, in opposite directions. Killer cannot start a chase; the distance is too big.
Whichever Survivor Killer walks towards, runs away, to delay a chase starting. Other Survivor goes for unhook.
Killer is now forced to either 'Camp', as the game sees it, or walk away & give a free unhook.
4th Survivor does gens while Hooked Survivor enjoys a slowed/paused Struggle Meter.
This why we say it would be abused. BECAUSE IT WAS LITERALLY ABUSED IN GAME ALREADY.
I'm not trying to 'internet yell' but I have explained this probably close to fifty times, if not more, because this idea comes up at least once a month, if not bi-weekly.

No, they can try go for the 4k, but they can do so without leaving someone bleeding out on the floor for half an hour. Had a game today where I was slugged about 4 separate times when there two of us left, at a certain point just hook one person.
Not sure what you want me to say. I mean, they wanted the 4K. They did not have to ask your permission for how they got it. And they did not hold the game hostage. π€·ββοΈ
Maybe, if the hatch did not open with 1 Survivor left regardless of gens done, Killers would not need to camp to try for 4Ks. It sucks, but the mechanics of the game almost force Killers to slug for a 4K, since the hatch is a giant middle finger.

What does holding the game hostage have to do with DCing for hatch?
Oh, were you trying to imply that slugging 'holds the game hostage', simply because you dislike the tactic or, heaven forbid, a Killer do it to try finding the 4th Survivor. How adorable!
You pretend a Killer using mechanics to attempt to kill a Survivor is somehow against the rules, like all Survivor mains! How cute. π
I know, I know; Killers should NEVER go for 4 Kills! It's 'sweaty' and 'tryhard' and 'whatever other BS Survivors invent to whine about'! They should ALWAYS let the 4th Survivor go! Funny has it never works in reverse; Survivors are never 'supposed to' give Killers a kill instead of escaping.
But back on point, before you tried to throw a false equivalency in there; DCing for hatch is cheating. Slugging is not. Oh well! π

@WexlerWendigo said:

Yes, because it's cheating. You claiming a Killer should not try for the 4K or, the usual Survivor BS 'Be happy with the 3K' is beside the point.
The hatch should not open, if the DC would open it. The remaining Survivors will need a key, or need to pop a gen. That simple; DC can't open hatch.

Perks are there to offer bonuses to the team using them. And yes, as the opponent you need to play around the perks. The way to play around this perk would be to play normally. It would even still be highly beneficial to get someone out of the game to slow down the game. Remember for the perk to truely and fully counter losing 1 survivor it would need to be a 100 percent increase in generator speed and healing.
The 25 percent simply means that once a survivor is killed, it is no longer a guaranteed win by the killer. This effectively removes the incentive to tunnel to win. It also means that a killer cannot simply resort to tunneling to win if they're falling behind. Killers often win games they have no business winning by singling out a survivor , preventing them from being unhooked, and immediately targetting them once unhooked. This perk would make that a poor strategy, but it is in no way OP. It cannot stack and the bonus offered does not completely remove the benefit of having 4 living survivors.
No. Your idea is removing the pressure a Killer gets by killing someone. And the work around is...What? Not killing? Spreading out the hooks?
So the Killer can either not do his goal, or do his goal and Survivors will be rewarded for failing to survive.
No. The idea is OP and based on the whole 'DoN't TuNnEl!' mindset that is, in itself, wrong.

I would say its fair to increase the emblem status degradation rate if there is a slightly longer delay before it starts.
Otherwise, I would also say that it's fair to increase the hook timer up to double if the killer is in close proximity
You can say it's fair, but you're wrong.
Hook timers were tried; Survivors abused it. People need to stop thinking 'camping needs to be punished! π€ͺ' simply because they don't like it. It's getting old that people can't accept that it's a valid strat.

Did you not read what he said?
2 Survivors DCed
Killer only kicked gens. He did not chase or hook survivors.
That's holding the game hostage.
Wearing those Killer-Colored-Glasses much?
Again; if he was kicking gens; he was patrolling. Also 'put down / pick up survivors', which means he DID hit people, even if he slugged them.
Survivor-colored-glasses much? Everything is always the Killer's fault to Survivor mains.

I never mentioned their current state. If people keep preferring DbD, with its massive flaws, it is normal that those games will not perform well. Still, from what I have seen (since I haven't played it), Last Year looked to be better than DbD.
I liked Last Year but my friends were so DBD focused that could not get them to even look at it.
'It's a DBD clone, it will die'. Well, it will if you can't be arsed to even look at the gameplay trailer! π€ͺ

Not everyone plays for some objective. I play for fun. As such just sitting on gennys to escape is not fun. And as an empathetic person I feel for the guy who is getting camped all game.
It is not hard for us to understand the logic of how to "win", it is hard to understand why someone would do this in a game. So, why I don't believe in punishing a person for playing within the rules, I can also understand why this bothers someone.
Surely you can concede that while not against the rules, it is not the most engaging nor sportsmanlike way of playing.
'Surely you can concede that while not against the rules, it is not the most engaging nor sportsmanlike way of playing.'
So? Not to be a jerk but...so?
I've played this game since launch, and do you know the only times 'sportsmanship' is applied? To Killers and how they win.
Strong perks? Unsportsmanlike!
Strong Killers? Unsportsmanlike!
Valid tactics (Slugging, tunneling, camping)? Unsportsmanlike!
Killers have to make sure Survivors have fun! Killers have to stop being 'sweats'! Killers have to go off-meta! ...But Survivors? Survivors can run a 4-man SWF, with meta perks, and voice comms and Killers are supposed to 'git gud' and 'suck it up'.
Do you know what the equivalent of 'camping' and 'tunneling' is? 'Genrushing'. I don't believe in any of the phrases, but as long as Survivors will bang out gens in under 5 minutes while ALSO screaming for Killers to 12 hook because 'Sportsmanship' and 'Stop being a jerk', I will keep saying 'No.'
Because why are Killers supposed to not try to win, or only win by some made up code of honor forced on them by THE OPPOSING SDIE, while that same side continues to try winning as fast as they can?
It's a BS double standard. So don't talk to me about 'Sportsmanship', because it's nothing more than 'Stop trying to win' in a pretty bow.

They can bring the penalty back but people will just suicide on hook again and just go afk if someone saves them in time. The dc penalty does nothing if someone's decided they don't want to play the match anymore.
Suiciding on hook should be reportable.
AFKing IS reportable.
So if someone AFKs after being saved; they can be reported for it, at the very least.
And if they run up to me and don't try to get away after being unhooked; I'm reporting them AND slugging them.

But what if the killer never leaves the hook? This is not stupid, but a calculated risk to attempt to give a teammate a chance to actually play the game. Now, I understand these type of survivors exist, but so do killers that only stand around hooks.
Then you do gens?
How hard is it to understand that the Killer has a choice to guard his kill?
How hard is it to understand that Survivors don't get an unhook just because they want it?
How hard is it to understand that camping is a valid tactic, and Survivors reward it by rushing the hook?
All these suggestions are based off of the wrong ideas that:
- Killers are doing something wrong/against the rules
- Survivors should get the unhook because...vague reasons.
If the Killer camps; you do gens. You punish him by doing your objective. Your objective is not 'Save the hooked guy'. You don't win by saving the hooked guy. The Killer does not deserve to be punished and you don't deserve the unhook, just because you want either of those things.
I don't know what else to tell you. You don't get the unhook just because you want it or think camping is 'unfair'. The Killer has every right to protect his kills. Bottom line.
-
Christ, now Survivors will avoid doing gens and blame the Killer for not handing them the game?
Uhh..The Killer was patrolling gens, which is supposed to be how he finds Survivors.
If you weren't doing YOUR goal of doing gens, then I'd say it was your fault, not the Killer's. He does not have to walk away from the gens & give them to Survivors that are being cowards.

@Steel_Eyed said:
They should just remove hook grabs. Camping is incentivized by the game mechanics.
No. This is nothing more than 'I want free, safe unhooks'. Hook grabs punish Survivors who are stupid enough to go for unhooks when the Killer is 5 feet away.
Remove them, and healthy Survivors can literally sprint in and unhook, so they will only be hit once, then the Killer's attack is on cooldown.

And there it is, folks; The DCer blaming 'Killer mains' for them DCing.
What you see right here, in their natural habitat, is a serial DCer screaming how it's 'Baby Killers' faults when they DC.
Guess what? When I see Survivors like you playing like widdle babies and DCing because I:
- Found them first
- Hit them first
- Hooked them first
- The map that was picked
- The Killer I picked
- The Perks I have
- Dislike Killer tactics & think they have a right to choose how the Killer plays
- Any other stupid reason you invent
I smile, because, once the DC penalty is back on, you will be on these forums in your widdle jammies; stomping your feet and screeching about how 'unfair' the DC penalty is, and demanding it be removed, because it's never YOUR fault when you DC! π
Please keep crying about how it's 'evil, meany-face Killers faults' that you DC; the penalty will be back on soon enough.
Then what will you do? I know the answer is not 'Take the L and move on the next match'. That would require maturity. π€£

Punishments were tried. Survivors abused them.
You Survivors need to realize that 'I don't like <x> tactic' is not a valid excuse to punish or remove said tactic.
