What can the devs do to make the game fun for both sides?

I see people say the game is not fun in higher ranks so it got me wondering what are steps the devs can take to make the game more fun for both sides. What changes would you make to the game that is both fun and fair?

  • Remove generators. I don't see any way around it.

  • They can't.

That post highlights some of the reasons why. The Killer can be subjected to extreme emotional stress and Survivors can be denied the ability to play the game.

So is dbd just doomed to be unfun for one side with no hope of saving it.

  • I believe your question doesn't have an actual answer, because of its highly subjective tone.

For example, return the game to Patch 1.8.0 and I will have A LOT of fun, both as survivor and killer. But this is for me, other people would prefer other versions, or maybe even the current state of the game with a few changes.

You can't exactly make the game fun when everyone has a different definition of what is fun and what isn't.

Unless the completely re-design the game, yes, one side will always receive the short end of the stick.

Ok so maybe fun wasn't the right word. What about function and fair to a acceptable standard?

  • Remove gens.

Make it a respawn/rescue system (If the Killer kills everyone before someone is saved; Survivors lose. If time runs out; Survivors lose.)

Change objectives to be map-based and spread out, so Survivors will usually have to split into smaller groups due to the time limit.

Basically: Make it Last Year, just without the ability to kill the Killers. (The biggest flaw of that game is that the characters can fight back; it's one of the reasons my friends refused to even look at it; what little they DID see was the Students gang-beating the Killers. It removes all horror from it.)

  • They could start by not making maps like the Game where the only type of chase you get is holding w and throwing pallets, it's boring for both parties. And it seems that holding w is the way Behaviour is going for, so the game seems doomed.

Is it so hard to add loops that can have mindgames and are not totally unsafe pallets or god pallets? Just add loops with some window, some semi-safe pallet... They just make maps where the best strategy is to bring spinechill and start running and hiding the moment it lits.
