The next up should be Leatherface and Billy. The devs also mentioned they will be doing an add-on update for Myers.
Myers is the best example of great addons in the entire killer roster. If they mess with that they'll ruin him.
-
I'll echo the words that survivors have been using toward killers upset about the ruin nerf:
-
NOED punishes survivors who ignore totems. Which are bad survivors. Period. But go ahead, ask for another nerf. Spoiled sack of #########.
-
My friends have been running Oni/Freddy + slug builds with some end game perks as insurance. The endgame chat is a radioactive wasteland but they've been winning pretty much regularly since slugging is the only thing that can make survivors react. Wondering how long its going to be before "omg slugging perks" becomes the next target for a hate train. The "nerf ghostface and hillbilly because I'm bad" trains are gaining steam already.

Nope. Still seeing the same toxic stuff from both sides. Probably confirmation bias.
Maybe. Or maybe survivors finally figured out they've been the power role all along.

But doesn’t she already have a wicked long lunge anyway? So can you just come out of a trap chase for a second and lunge?
Say it with me now. Every killer has the same lunge. It used to be based on movement speed but they normalized it ages ago. The only killer with a different lunge is T1 Myers. On smaller killers it just looks longer because they're smaller and their model has to cover more distance to match the larger killers. Especially people like Freddy, Legion and Hag. God. This community is ######### dense.

"And one last thing, survivors are still able to vault when shocked. At one moment i clearly shocked the survivors, he screams, and vault. That is not normal, right?"
Good, I hope it stays this way. This mechanic is complete BS. Have it force a slow vault if anything.
QQ more.

Halloween. It was the last good patch for the game. The maps still felt atmospheric, and people were less ######### back then. Myers also remains the golden standard for a killer as far as addons are concerned.
-
A lot of DBD players think they should be able to choose what they face. It's like they've never played a game where the opponent can use whatever they want to win.
-
I played a shroud of separation once and someone left. The amount of childish babies in this community is astronomical.

It’s not a co-ordinated campaign though.
I’ve thought Hillbilly needs a nerf for a long time and I’ve obviously out that point across and given reasons why I think that. However I never asked for a Spirit or Ruin nerf.
In that context you can’t expect people to stay silent on something they feel passionate about because a different nerf occurred around the same time.
Hillbilly will be fine though. They’ve already commented they will be looking at him and Learherface next. I’m sure they’ve already got an idea of what they want to do and which add ons they want to change. I can’t imagine random forum talk is going to have that big an impact at this point.
I know that you love saying this but it doesn't have to be a "coordinated campaign" to get dev attention. Nobody is saying that survivors are a hive mind either. Both sides have bad players that refuse to adapt. Which is hilarious since the Hillbilly has been the same since launch so everyone should know how to non play against him by now, but I digress.
They might have said they were looking at the chainsaw brothers for an addon pass, but if the survivors en mass say that Billy is "unfun to play against" or frustrating, or whatever buzzwords players use to hide their lack of skill then he will get hit with the nerf bat too. Survivor enjoyment > Killer enjoyment. Get that through your head. And the fact that you think personally Billy needs a baseline nerf tells me what side of the fence you sit on. When without certain addons, he is the most balanced killer in the entire game. Because in this day and age a killer needs chase lethality, map pressure, and some anti loop abilities just to be viable in red ranks. Anything below green ranks isn't worth balancing for, since any complaints from ranks that low come from a lack of experience.
So sure. Keep asking the devs to nerf Billy. Go for it. Coming on the heels of a nurse rework/nerf, a spirit nerf, a ruin nerf, and a Doc rework/nerf, I'm sure that the killer population will remain nice and healthy. I hope you have a dual screen setup and a Netflix subscription for those queue times.

They can't even fix the damn sound bugs in the game, much less make bots.

Myers, Ghostface, Pig, and Oni. I play all stealth killers and one angry boy.

Gone. Reduced to atoms
Good riddance
Petition to delete Quentin from the game. Freddy should have been a standalone killer chapter since nobody likes that sleep deprived goblin anyways.

"We have discovered that survivors don't understand what a safe unhook is, so we have made Borrowed Time baseline for all unhooks. We have also changed the effect. Instead of the endurance effect, Borrowed Time will now make the unhooked survivor invisible to the killer and invincible for 5 minutes, while giving the endurance effect to the unhooker instead. The perk will activate independent of a killer's terror radius. This will make survivor and killer more enjoyable."

i dont know about others.. but for me I its always been I learn more when i go against best of best. as long as im getting fast lobbies im all good.. ppl these days so demanding.. this isnt a competitive game its a casual game this rank system is namesake, you contradict your own statement saying matchmaking is bad while saying ranks are meaningless... yes its frustrating when your entire team is getting downed in secs by experienced killer but that also makes it interesting for me.. unlike other games .. you have choice here to help them or just play safe and hide and hope to escape or outlast..
The ranks are pointless because pipping as a killer gets exponentially harder, whereas survivors basically get welfare pips. And while I find fun in difficulty as well, that doesn't mean that other people do. And no that isn't being "demanding". A brand new player shouldn't run into a red rank brick wall. Because if they do? They'll quit to play a game that's more accomadating and less frustrating. Getting looped for five gens or getting instantly downed won't make you any better. Sorry to burst your "git gud" bubble.

I'd rather the Spirit's phasing sound to survivors not be omnidirectional and you could actually tell where it's coming from. If they also made it so you'd hear her phasing sounds while in a chase or her terror radius that would also be enough for survivors imo. Prayer beads can change the phasing sound back to the way it is now.
I almost wanted to slap you through the internet. Her sounds were directional during her PTB. Survivors were able to pinpoint her exact location and dodge every phase strike she tried to land. No. The only change I suggest is to make her move grass while phasing, and remove the interaction between Stridor and Iron Will. Stridor should not make Iron Will pointless. Someone did mention a "blue scratch mark" idea that I thought was pretty interesting, or making her shards glow when she's charging up her power. I'm all for survivors (especially solo) having information as long as it doesn't render a killer's powers useless.

Its the unfortunate part that a lot of posts and conversations on here will very quickly fall into whataboutery, can't mention strong killer perks without "what about *insert strong survivor perks*" and you cannot mention camping without "what about gen rushing"
Its a type of deflection, im not saying that everyone does this, but calling out the shortcomings of one group of players and they will try to deflect the blame or just share the blame with another set. Of course they have a point with alot of the connections, keys and moris are 2 very similar coins.
It's the nature of a forum when a game has multiple sides. When people feel like their role is being attacked, they attack the other role(s). Overwatch, WoW, Rainbow Six and countless other gaming forums have this problem. It isn't going to change because despite how some of the "50/50" players act, nobody is truly objectice. That includes me, and also the developers.
-
My tier list would just be Jane on repeat since she's the only one I played, but I see no issue with yours.
Even though Quentin is a hideous goblin that scares me more than the killers do.

I want to see how many people bought tiers. Because I'm pretty sure a lot of people did.

Survivor: I'm not a potato with half a brain so I can hit skill checks. Ruin was literally a non issue for me.
Killer: I was angry at first. Less so about the change, more about the language used in the notes. They basically deleted a killer perk, replacing it with a far inferior version and ONLY talked about it from a survivor perspective. That was in extremely poor taste. I very rarely used Ruin tho, hex perks are too unreliable besides Haunted Grounds. Slugging is a much more reliable way to apply map pressure. Bonus points if you slug all four and let them bleed out.

its About to be a lot worse before it gets better but the change to ruin was necessary. I love playing survivor and killer and do so pretty equally. I’ve been red ranks on both but I prefer killer just because the wait times are horrible when queuing as a survivor and I expect them to get worse
Incoming opinionated wall of text. Was the change to Ruin necessary? Yes. Was the timing for this change right? No. The devs can couch it in whatever excuses they want, this change was not about game health. It was about lessening survivor frustration at the cost of killer enjoyment. Plain and simple.
Because killers didn't run ruin to (no pun intended) ruin the game for new survivors. Killers ran ruin because some maps can take a full minute to traverse at the start. For a non-mobile killer, that is (nearly) an entire generator lost due to no fault of your own. And if the survivors brought toolboxes? You may as well cry in a corner somewhere.
Ruin was a bandage fix to DBD's most disgusting problem: terrible map design. Because "jUsT pReSsUrE gEnS" does not work with half the damn killer roster if you get an unlucky map. The funniest thing about the change to ruin is that it is reinforcing the mobility meta. Ruin won't help the killers it used to, but will further strengthen killers that are already strong. Killers like Nurse and Billy, who never even needed ruin to begin with. If the devs knew how to treat the root of the problem instead of just treating the bloody symptoms, the maps would be in a better state than they are now. And this ruin change wouldn't have caused such a shitstorm.
With so many awesome games mere months away, and a lot of killers migrating to Iceborne already, expect the Wounded by Daylight queues to get far worse.

Most of us are playing Monster Hunter.

@GrootDude said:
I play both sides at high ranks and rarely get frustrated on either side, I’m also playing without ruin or noed currently (preparing for the nerf) I still manage to get 3/4ks consistently and have fun, I really don’t get the fuss.
I think that Groot has just now discovered the difference between objectivity and subjectivity. Congratulations Groot, I'll send you a certificate in the mail. BS aside, your experience is not the norm. Most people who find matches "frustrating" are people who are hyper competitive and need to win all the time. People who play purely for fun tend not to have that problem. I'm guessing you're the latter. Because the frustrating state of this game is why I only follow the forums.
-
People are mad because they're removing the learning curve from the game with the hope of courting "new players". They also seemed to ignore the frustrations of killer players completely (some of which are new) as well as completely ignoring the almost unanimous opinions of their most experienced players about the upcoming changes. To some people, that feels like an abject betrayal. Since without the veteran players and streamers, this game would have been dead years ago when it started tanking on Steam.
To me? This entire debacle has been a laugh and a half. I have been with this game since the beta, I've streamed it and I used to love it. It replaced Evolve for me, I've always loved the 1 vs Many types of games. However. The direction it is going shows a clear disconnect between the experienced players and the devs, with too much of a focus on new players. You make the game welcoming by explaining your systems. Not by dumbing them down so an infant could play. Maybe some of us need to accept that we aren't their target demographic anymore and move on.
Anywho. Two more asymmetrical games are being released in a few months. Resistance and Predator, both have the backing of massive companies and had fairly successful beta tests. So we will see if this tactic of balancing from the bottom pays off for BVHR or blows up in their faces.
-
I'd say he was trash. I'd rather play a killer that excels at one thing (chases, map pressure, stealth) instead of being completely mediocre at everything. Demo is a mess. The only reason people like him is because of the media he's from.
-
Its survivor code for "you did a thing I didn't like". This is the only game I've played where the enemy thinks they have a say in what you do or how you play. It's honestly pretty pathetic.
-
That would be way too consumer friendly. Just buy another premium rift pass and stop complaining.
-
@Awakey said:
Wraith or Myers.
Wraith's are all a huge help to his power, and have no outliers. It's very consistent.
Myers' add-ons alter his core gameplay, giving him many different playstyles and opportunities.
I agree with this. Their addons are what the devs should aspire to do with all of the killers. Transformative, strong, and no abject meme nonsense like the Nurse's new garbage addons. Even the Hag has interesting things like Shackles and Granmas Heart. The last few killers, especially the oni, have had some of the most disappointing addons ever. It's all vanilla ######### and serves no purpose.
-
Matchmaking is busted and the killer population is pretty low. Expect it to get worse. Bonus points for brand new killers that get wrecked by a red / purple rank survivor squad and quit playing killer altogether.
-
I have always hated Kate. I used to tunnel her far more than other characters. On the reverse side, I adore anyone who plays Jane so I don't ever hook her more than once.
-
Lol. Console optimization. That'll happen right around when they learn how to balance the game. So never.
-
Probably in a week or so.

@DexyIV said:
If you really think Nurse got nerfed into unviability, you either play on console or was never good with her without the additional blinks. Spirit was also not nerfed to oblivion, they literally toned down her overpowered addons. It's called balancing the game, friend. Same reason Balanced Landing got nerfed, and instaheals were removed. This is just sad.
They toned down her addons and made the other ones memes. Not to mention her new charge system makes traversing the maps clunky. Friend. So she feels horrific to play. Buddy. It's called "overdoing the balancing in favor of keeping one side happy". Comrade. Or does game feel only matter for survivors?

New ruin is better than old, so I don’t see why you complain about it. Also, many killer mains such as Otz and tru3 shown that killers who was called “weak” in red ranks are actually viable. I play killer as Myers and usually going up against teams being 4-1 with me getting a 3k or more each game. I honestly don’t see the problem with gens going “too fast” because I will always end up getting a 2k at least in those situation. So when I hear people complain as a survivor or killer, I don’t get how you guys make it out to be so stressful or too difficult as if you can’t put yourself in lower ranks if you are finding it too hard. There are many other killer mains capable of handling red rank lobby which is why the devs shown a graph of all killers getting above a 2k in red rank lobby.
The new ruin is definitely better than the old. If you're a survivor.
-
My rule was that if all survivors bring in items, then I'm allowed to bring in my best addons. Ultra rare addons if its four toolboxes. Streamer or not, you deserved it. I will never understand this beef people have with killers using their best items when survivors default to commodious toolboxes every chance they get.
But some people here validated your nonsense, so I guess you got that out of this.
-
I think they will actually leave. With Resistance and Predator coming out soon, DBD won't have a monopoly anymore. They'll probably end up like me. I quit the game after Plague's release but I still follow the game from a distance.
-
The easiest to use of the five, and doesn't feel like a wasted perk slot.
-
Oni feels less generic to play, and yells a lot. Two things I like.

Always Jane, without question. Maturity is extremely attractive and I love her cosmetics.
She's also dummy thicc.

Because without that kill rate they derank out of the red ranks. Yet the survivors they destroy most likely don't even depip since surviving isn't a requirement for pipping. Seeing a pattern? You should only be sarcastic when you know what the ######### you're talking about.
