  • Sorry, Xeno is just really good at tunneling, really the only killer good at it

  • WOW!! This is super cool! I love the idea, the power, the perks are pretty cool (maybe a little strong but thats fine), I really enjoy the map idea thats an aesthetic that the game lacks.

    This is just super cool!!

  • I completely forgot that was a thing.

This isn't the first time. Don't get me wrong, I don't care for the flashlight changes, I use them too infrequently to be too impacted.

But can we stop using people as an excuse to nerf things in the game? If you want to nerf flashlights whether to prevent BM or to just nerf it, just say it. Don't give a lame excuse about how this is a change for the section of the community that suffers from epilepsy, if you had cared enough, you would've listened to that part of the community if not 5 years ago, then 4, 3 or even 2.

We get it, you want to buff killer, we get it. We really do. But don't do it by trying to make it seem as if this is because you care for the community.

You can't just grandfather clause flashlights just because it wasn't an issue they were concerned about before. Like cheating, its become an issue recently moreso than years ago, hence them addressing it. Like #########.

After this patch, I feel like the rise in Us Vs. Them has become rather prevalent. This patch is quite unusual because it favors killers, something that has not really happened in along time. Not only does it favor killers, it favors them a lot with a series of changes that make playing killer less painful.

However, this patch also revealed a simple fact about most players; they have no idea how the other side works at all.

You have survivors who are horrifed at the mere idea of being tunneled in endgame, and killers who have to bring the strongest perks on the strongest killers and slug everyone because they might get gen rushed.

It should be noted that the survivor has no clue what tunneling actually is and the same goes for the killer and gen rushing.

While the latest batch does have its problems (75% grind reduction is a lie, Blood point Bonuses, Botany Buff, Self Care), it does have some good changes.

Disabling DS and Off the Record in the endgame makes sense because the only way to counter these perks was to tunnel or camp.

Making Corrupt Intervention deactivate on downing a survivor is a great way to balance the perk.

A lot of perks that were limited in effectivness like Hope, Surge, Overcharge, and Inner Focus got changes to them that make them more worthwhile to use.

At the end of the day, remember that there is no reward for High MMR. Just take a breather and focus on having fun, not just sweating every match.

Now - I'm a fan of the changes, as these amount to a solid buff to a lot of M1 or hybrid M1 killers, many of which are struggling right now (Onryo still needs love though).

However - they are also going to be a buff to Nurse (and to a lesser extent Blight), which is going to make these two problem killers even more dangerous.

The other issue is that these feel like a change made on behalf of SWF. Solo is already tough. I do understand that it's almost impossible to balance between the Fox/Chicken/Corn puzzle of SWF/Killer/Solo, but these feel like changes that should have come with an adjustment to a handful of addons on these specific killers, and some help for solos.

Something as simple as making Bond basekit for all players not in a party would be a huge help.

To be fair Nurse avoids most of these buffs to killer, the only thing will be gen kicking buff to her, considering both Blight and Nurse have separate cooldowns from normal M1's, and Nurse doesn't need to break pallets at all same with blight really.

    This isn't a mystery game.

Your comment is bias, this is not a step in the right direction, unless you want more free kills, then yes.

I mean considering Killers have not been getting enough kills according to the devs, they needed a buff. I find the other half of the game to be more pressing than solo cue, bc if killer isn't doing well there is no survivor gameplay, cause no one will play killer.

Yeah Peanits go and tell to the nurse player using double range which allows her to move at around 499% what damage 7% of speed is gonna do, i don't really think you realize that all this update does is make camping and tunneling even more stornger, but hey can u guys give us 100k bloodpoints i'd really need that ty <3

What if I face camp the survivor so then they can't get tunneled. Then tunneling isn't an issue!

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

I am happy for killer buffs first because they were feeling weak against SWFs and good teams.

But now they butchered all survivor meta, killer meta just have small nerf with good basekit buffs. But what about solos? It is really so hard to add more information for solos?

5 seconds BT basekit is nothing btw. You can bodyblock survivor to go next loop. 5 seconds is NOTHING. And plus DS nerfed too. Good buffs for tunnelling. You are clearly adressed all DbD issues.

    Run Sole Survivor!

It takes 2 extra seconds to break out of a locked locker. It's really not that big of an issue, but it helps slow the killer down slightly.

The Dredge is a pretty strong killer. I've yet to lose a game with him unless I'm purposefully giving away escapes. And I'm not a top-tier killer.

I've noticed a lot of Dredge players who have struggled, are simply not using the power well enough. They don't even bother using it in a chase because they think it's not good enough, but I get tons of success jumping ahead to cut survivors off. It doesn't need to be right on top of them, it just needs to push them to another area of the map where they're less safe, or to close some of the distance.

The issue is that there is no time lost locking every locker on the map. Every game I play as Dredge (which is all the time) any locker I go to a minute in is locked, it's a LARGE slowdown considering every locker is now locked, I have to either teleport to each one to break it or go around breaking each one, locking needs to take longer, to make it actually a counter thats fair, otherwise my power sucks completely to use, after 1 minute in game.

I've got lots of ideas for this, because Bioshock is one of my most wanted chapters. It would probably be a Bouncer, since it's the most iconic, using the drill dash similar to Hillbilly or Oni charging. When Billy got nerfed, people were joking about having to collect gas cans from lockers to use the chainsaw, but imagine something not too far off.

There could be some secondary power, like collecting ADAM with a little sister you get from a vent and increasing in strength. Because we all know BHVR loves to add killer specific props to the maps, and these were pretty commonly seen in the source material.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/P0MW9Q808DEX/image.png

Plus there's a lot of outfit possibilities. The Rosie, Rumbler, Lancer, Alpha Series, and the Elite version of those.

Thats honestly a really good idea, I never thought about that possibility. I would love some type of ADAM thing maybe like a powerup or something, like Oni maybe? Either way this just popped in my head as something that has potential to be really cool.

I cannot stress how silly this braindead “move” is in DBD. A survivor can make a ton of mistakes but it all goes away by another survivor(or majority of the time the entire SWF) bodyblocking the down/hook/exit gate/gen.

its the most infuriating tactic next to Shift+W that I can think of. I cannot express how many times a kill is denied by a survivor blocking an entire walkway just for me to hit that survivor and they either sprint away or another troll player steps in front of that survivor to block.

if you add in 2nd chance perks you might as well consider uninstalling for awhile.

devs please make an anti bodyblock perk or realistically speaking some kind of punishment system(maybe a hindered status like an anti bloodlust) for this horrible horrible annoying “play” in the game.

Pretty good job so far :D

Thats called business. Considering Behavior doesn't own Pinhead, they are subject to this. Its either they listen to what the holders want or no license. They literally removed Stranger Things from the game because of this. The companies don't care about the game, they want money they see money and if they don't do what they want then no lisence.

Why can killers see everything from the Survivors, but they can´t see anything from him?

Its literally unfair, that a killer can say: "ok 4 items, let me use franklin´s real quick"

Why can they check the profiles of the survivors, check if they are SWF or how many hours they have?

Would be way better, if they couldn´t see items and names - so they can´t edit their perkbuild. The other choice would be, that survivors can see, which killer they face - but this would be completely unfair.

Also just delete the names from the survivor or the possibility to check their profiles, so there would be no more dodging of SWF-Lobbies (childish behaviour btw) or Streamsniping.

Why is this still a thing? There is literally no reason why killer´s should have more information than survivor.

    Your thoughts?

  • As a trickster main this really is nothing but a buff. If you are saying you are such a god that within 10 seconds I can't hit you with a knife at least once or spam 5 at you when you vault a window then yes it's a severe nerf. Being able to almost down a survivor when they just vault a pallet or window is great. 20 more seconds of Main Event as well is not something to scoff at. His ultra-rare that sucked now gives you your knives back on main event essentially removing the serious need to reload. With it needing 30 knives to get Main Event it seriously isn't that big of a deal he has 60 of them and potentially 85 of them, if I can't hit at least 30 of them, then yes Trickster is horrible, but you forget that his ability isn't exactly a massive issue if you miss like huntress, when she misses it's 1/5 gone if he misses one, he gets 59 more to go.

  • They just released a dev notes on the mid chapter

  • I get nothing but a fricken flashlight or toolbox in my bloodweb, so no cakes this year it seems. Just turn on Double Bp at this point

  • The issue is, that you can't balance around the rare occasions its some guys tying to troll each other. I do that a lot with my friends but we expect to lose is the thing. SWF does have some issues that need addressing or just making it easier to identify if it is a SWF. The biggest issue is that you won't know if it is a sweat squad or a guys having fun, and the thing is sometimes people who sweat are having fun with their friends.

  • Binding of Kin actually made me stop playing the game for 3 months so that sucked. All-Kill gave a fun to play and hard killer to learn how to do well with and all the Survivor perks from both Chapters and this one are really fun to run.

This chapter we got a new Killer Meta perk which is nice and some other niche perks to use as well as a fairly weak killer who gives survivors 3 health states for some reason vs Trickster who can just down you quicker if you know what you're doing.

  • I noticed this as well, it is super unfun to play against considering my teammates don't give us time to do gens when people facecamp by just killing themself on hook

His power is strong at tier 3... if you think its detrimental that is because you miss alot.

No it does suck. Survivors vaccinate and then in T3 you have to hit them 3 times to down them still, with the all powerful T3

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

If a bubba is camping just have the 3 others rush gens

This isn’t that simple, MANY players just kill themself on hook after 30 seconds and then he moves on to the next survivor. So gen rising doesn’t work when it’s now a 3v1 versus a face camping bubba

  • Surge would be OP if they removed the cooldown or basic attack requirement. Insta 8 percent regression and regression on gens within 30 feet if the killer gets 2 downs relatively quickly thats 16% instantly on a gen, and if the survivors don't have the time to tap the gen or something or even if they tap the gen, the killer can just pop the gen and now they lose 25% as well. Eat would just be the icing on the cake for a perk like Ruin, bc surge effects already regressing gens.

  • After playing him for about 5 hours this is my analysis.

His power takes way to much to injure a survivor often making it useless. Three hits is way to much for it as well as a very small hitbox that is worse to go over may tiles and obstacles. If the initial infection didn't give a speedboost this would be a good compensation to fix a lot of this. Or make it so when a survivor is hit with the first hit they take a healthstate and get infected.

If they are going to keep the small hitbox and the way it is, increase the range by 1 more meter and make tier 3 way better. Tier 3 should be a reward to get your power not a chore for a non noticeable buff. Maybe even make it that in tier 3 the miss cooldown or recovery from a hit is shorter or give him more range.

The tentacle I feel should be able to hit more than 1 survivor if they are within that blue line or range, so if you find people healing infront of you, you can hit them both if luck provides.

His map pressure is kinda meh, his Zombies either do a lot or abosultely nothing and don't agro against a survivor next to them.

He needs a buff otherwise he is pretty week unless in a small map or indoor map.

  • Im pretty sure you're out of luck. Typically when a Chapter comes out the older ones are on sale...

  • Autodidact, Aftercare, Prove Thyself, and Iron will. I have run this build on Dwight for over a year and he is the only survivor I play.

  • Trickster is easy to 4k with at red ranks

Tonight I hopped onto DBD to try and do the protection hits tome challenge. I played Ash so I could use MoM to get more hits. I don't have any of the meta sweat perks on Ash so I was just going to have fun. As soon as I touched a gen I could tunneled and camped out of the game. I got farmed by teammates and I depipped. I was almost to red ranks. Why do I get punished for the killer playing like an #########? Why do I get depipped?

I will say I am around low red ranks and recently in the past few days it has honestly been probably 10/16 games where I was just camped on first hook or tunneled out of the game and typically it’s around 4 gens. I don’t know what has been up recently with the camping mainly, and typically not everyone runs BT so it’s just unfun recently.

BBQ is like the one perk that will probably never be touched

It's a perk to help with the grind, there's no way in hell they'll change it. It sells DLCS, people legit buy Bubba purely for it

They also had an oppertunity to change it when they changed Cannibal's perks and they didn't, so I wouldn't worry about it

Thats a good point, when they changed both Billy and Bubba they changed both's perks that no one ran, they changed 4/6 perks and the other 2 are really good and one is BBQ. I agree they would have changed it when they buffed Bubba and changed his other perks.

  • I like that idea actually, it wouldn't make it in such a way the killer would tunnel someone, but just think they are normally injured and not healing. It would really make it a decent perk to run sadly not always run, but really cool nonetheless!

  • spirit has counterplay(a friend of mine said this)

  • DH, Iron Will, Autodidact, Aftercare

Keeping my friends alive as well as increasing my survivability

  • I was playing Dwight with my friend and I just held W and was freaking out against a trapper who was freakin me out.

  • Iron Will, Dead Hard, Autodidact, Aftercare. Im not kidding been running it for over a year

  • You lose collision with the killer when hit so he went through you.

  • The thing is about DH is that if you are chasing someone for so long that they can benefit from DH and get around a loop a 4th time, the killer already made a mistake dedicating themselves to that chase. If I use DH to get to a window I wouldn't have gotten to because I was greedy and I knew the killer is inherently faster than me to catch up and I use it anyway to get away, the killer already made a mistake being looped to long by that one person. If your talking about killer time is important dont waste time on the guy who is looping you consistently and then able to get away and continue looping you for another few pallets and minutes, that is already a killer mistake overall, I just extended the mistake.

  • @EuphoricBliss35 said:

MMR would work much better if they revealed tiers to their MMR system. Then, place all Rank 1s in the highest tier, red ranks in a tier, purple in a tier, etc. Then start matchmaking. The system won’t be perfect, but the player base will see ranks that make sense. Over time, they the MMR will place them in their correct tier.

the only killers where you should start in a separate tier would be Nurse, Spirit, Deathslinger, Huntress. Everyone else works more or less similarly. It’s not like you need to learn how to moon walk with different killers. Even then, you should only drop hose killers down 1 or 2 tiers to start with, then the MMR will begin to place them accordingly

I would very much so like to have different mmr for each killer not just a few. Cause not everyone is a trapper player, not everyone is a wraith or doctor player, if they all started in the same then there really would be no point in adding mmr cause learning a new killer would still be just as hard at red ranks or high mmr.

  • So far, its been a nightmare for me. Playing Killer (Only Bubba) since the MMR came out has been awful, I've played at least 10 hours worth of games and still get 1 red rank on the other team, with 3 rank 19's, and its a complete massacre at 5 gens.

  • I mistook my hex on the other side of the map for an OoO... and didn’t see a survivor on a gen with bbq

  • @grassdirtsky said:

Ping system, more emotes, something to show what each survivor is doing (nothing, repairing, cleansing totems, chase), i don’t think that’s too hard to add

Maybe add more icons in the bottom left like how your know someone is injured or hooked or healthy. Maybe like a gen one or a totem one and maybe it’s normal if they’re doing nothing.

  • @VonCrow said:

Is probably a bad design perk, because it allows you to fix your mistake but just pressing a button. Imagine a killer with a perk like that.

Anyways extending the chases is not that strong by itself, the problem is to lose 2-3 gens while chasing one single survivor because he has DH, and that happens with everyone in the game.

    Rough times for killers.

But the thing is right... is that if you lose 2-3 gens bcause of dh then you were getting looped for too long before and after the usage of dh

  • @CosmicParagon said:

Here's the counterplay for all the killers, coming from a killer main:

    • Trapper: Watch your feet, stay out of tall grass when not in a chase
    • Billy: Look behind you, avoid taking paths that force you into a straight line
    • Wraith: Use your eyes instead of your ears, or run Spine Chill
    • Nurse: Break LOS, run in a straight line when she isnt charging a blink(she's slower than you at base)
    • Myers: Break LOS as much as possible, delay him tiering up for as long as you can. Myers captilalizes on bad teams much more than most killers, so keep that in mind. Don't rely on the post-hit speed boost as he might have T3 at 99%
    • Huntress: Break LOS, be careful about dropping pallets/vaulting when she has hatchets
    • Hag: Watch your feet, crouch over traps to avoid triggering them, a flashlight will reveal/destroy them
    • Doctor: Lockers are your friends, stay out of his terror radius or get in a locker if 60 seconds have passed since his last shock blast. Drop the pallet/vault a bit earlier to counter the shock
    • Clown: Drop the pallet early if he gasses you, theres plenty to go around thanks to his nonexistant map pressure
    • Freddy: Stay awake as much as possible, either by skill checks(risky) or going to a clock(safer, plus gives a 30 second grace period). Drop dream pallets/break dream snares as you travel to weaken his control, drop the pallet early if he drops snares mid-chase
    • Legion: Spilt up, his power is much weaker if he cant hit all of you. Don't forget to mend
    • Bubba: Use windows as much as possible, as he can't break them. If somebody gets hooked in the basement, they are to be considered lost and you should rush the gens.
    • Pig: Use your eyes or run spine chill to detect her in crouch, watch out for her roar. The trap is entirely harmless until a gen pops, so theres plenty of time to get it off. It also pauses the timer in a chase or on the ground
    • Plague: Depends on your looping abilty. If you are good at running an M1 killer around, dont bother cleansing, UNLESS the other survivors cleanse. Keep in mind that if all the pools get corrupted, they all get cleaned and the plague gets nothing
    • Ghostface: Again, use your eyes. Don't rely on the TR or Red Stain, and don't bother with Revealing him. Just run as fast and far as possible, he has no mobility.
    • Demogorgon: Literally use your ears, every single one of his actions have a global audio queue. Remember to look behind you to see if his face is opening to juke a shred. NEVER vault a window if the Demo's face is open, you WILL get hit if they are good. Rememeber that while you are in contact with an open portal, you will not hear the Demogorgon's Terror Radius.
    • Oni: Heal as soon as possible, preferably somewhere far away from objectives so the Oni won't have easy access to the resulting blood orbs. NEVER do a gen while injured, you will make the Oni's job FAR easier
    • Deathslinger: Use your eyes instead of your ears, his TR is microscopic, especially since any good Slinger will have Monitor. Avoid going in a straight line, look behind you, and drop the pallet early
    • Pyramid Head: Mixture of Hag and Demo. His trails are harmless if you crouch over them, and his M2 is easily dodged if you look behind you. Avoid dropping pallets or vaulting windows if his sword is in the ground. Also keep in mind that Torment has no effect on normal gameplay. The only downsides are leaving a short-lived trail whenever you move, and being able to be caged/morid on death hook. Most PHs will not cage unless its late game due to removing the possiblity of saving the third hook, along with not being able to see cages.

Plague gets her Corrupt Purge when the survivors cleanse at all of her fountains

    Serious question:

Why are people in this thread making fun of Survivors complaining about Killer Meta Perks while running Meta Perks themselves, while the Thread was opened by a person running Meta Perks, complaining about Survivor Meta Perks?

Because in the long run does sloppy butcher kill a team? Is ruin effective if they sit on gens? If I hook two people within a minute and they get rescued and I hook the rescuer 40 seconds later they still have immunity while going for the save and if I slug them they get themselves up. The only perk survivors and myself complain about is noed and for a reason, while ds and unbreakable is possibly the strongest combination in the game.
