SWF gives information to others within the SWF group that a solo survivor does not have. The killer should also get some kind information on the other SWF members when it interacts with a SWF member, perhaps when starting a chase, landing a hit, or downing – one of those.

You can be creative and use lore to justify it. Or... just show them with walkie-talkies.

    So hack their discord call?

BHVR said themselves they want to adress them and give actual numbers. But they are still using these terms noone can work with on the recent Bubba addons rework.

I want numbers. And not vague descriptions which aren't fixed but are changing on every addon and every killer. That's nothing I can work with properly.

No one can work with these because no one can actually play the Bubba rework yet...(Just watch Entity Education by interact on youtube he gives all the #'s for them, he'll prob have a video out when the ptb drops)

I hope Hag isn't changed man, but you may be right. I've been playing Hag/Clown/Legion through the event you know I love me some Hag.

I think Pig is getting it next and huntress with the addons

I made so many jokes about exactly what they did to Billy. Man I feel for you guys as a Nurse main.

Here's hoping you aren't plagued by bugs that will never get fixed from the new changes.

In all fairness new Nurse is kinda more fun to play as a nurse main. But yeah hopefully there aren’t going to be a lot of bugs but we know there are going to be.

I see a need for the perk to remain, but your argument makes zero sense. Yes, it’s a great perk for countering tunneling. However, it’s still great to use while NOT countering tunneling.

Bare in mind, a T3 DS has a 1 minute activation...one minute!! All 5 gens can be repaired in less than 5 minutes. This means, if all 4 survivors are using DS, the killer has only 1 minute of play where he/she doesn’t have to worry about DS.

Another example: Gens are done, killer has to recover while in endgame. Everyone’s by one exit. The killer camps, survivors take turns trading hooks on a hook very close to the exit...this can activate DS for all players. Now, the killer can watch them crawl out the exit, or pick them up to eat a DS and the only chance a killer would have here is if the muffin misses the skill check....everyone escapes again.

Now, not all games are gen rushed...a lot, but not all. So let’s look at another scenario. Let’s be clear, 1 minute is a LONG time. You can get unhook...the killer goes after a teammate...hooks them. Go after ANOTHER teammate, hooks them. Goes after you, hooks...NOPE, you still have DS.

Let’s be clear about one specific point, YES, DS is a valuable tool for countering tunneling. However, the majority of the time this perk is an effect, it is being used as a free second chance that is NOT countering tunneling.

    Couldn't have said it better

  • Out of all the mori's its probably the only fair one xD

  • @upsetelcor said:

Let me preface this by saying I am a killer main. I don't often play survivor, so maybe my view on things for survivors isn't great. However, there's a blatant issue with Pyramid Head. Why don't BT, DS, Pop, etc. work with cages, but moris do? The logic behind being unable to use DS and BT with cages is that they are HOOK perks. Okay, whatever. It's really yikes that this killer literally encourages tunneling, but that's just the game for you. If you can't use your hook perks out of the cage, you shouldn't be able to mori out of the cage.

Moris specifically say (we'll go with an ivory for simplicity) "Grants the ability to kill one Survivor who has been hooked by your hand during the next Trial."

Well, if the cages don't count as hooks for the perks, why should they count as hooks for moris? For that matter, if cages don't count as hooks, why can you hook someone and cage them, for the same 3 states?

For real, man. Pyramid Head is so bad for the game right now. The pure, unadulterated tunneling right now is absurd. Sure, sending a survivor to the cage puts them on the other side of the map, but you can still see the cage, so what's stopping you from going after the survivor again, when they're injured, pretty much completely defenseless and fresh out of the cage? You can't really avoid the trails of torment in chases without nearly guaranteeing giving the killer a hit or a down. You may be able to urban evade through it but in my opinion, there should not be a single killer that makes you put on a perk on the off chance you get them.

BHVR, you say you want the game to be fun for everyone, and from a killers perspective, this absolutely does not seem fun for survivors at all. The tunneling is absolutely rampant right now, and its making half your playerbase want to quit. God knows first 3 games as survivor I played, I got tunneled all 3, and don't want to play survivor at all right now.

Seriously man, I don't understand why BHVR added a killer who literally does something the community has been bothered by for literal years and it needs to be changed. If tunneling has irked the community for years, why make it so easy for PH? He can pick survivors up, just like every other killer. He shouldn't be any sort of special about it. I understand it's supposed to be a cool new mechanic, but in reality, it's making people genuinely not want to play. There is no sort of fun in being tunneled, and it should not be encouraged like this.

Feel free to tell me I'm just whining if you must, but after seeing it from the killers perspective and the survivors, I really do not see where this is good for the game at all.

Few things. The mori technically should work due to the fact that the cages count as a hook state and removes one of the 3 stages from a survivor on the hooks, they could probably change this which they should, but I'm assuming mori's work because the games see's that a survivor has lost a hook state. Next if they did remove the ability to see the cages then why shouldn't they remove the ability for the killer to see where they hook anyone? I can just as easily hook someone walk to the other side of the map, see them get rescued and go back as any killer, it's the same thing but a power and just player option of doing so. Along with the argument of avoiding torment and running Urban Evasion, its like the people who still run calm spirit to counter doctor or that killer with infectious fright, people already do it for other killers.

  • @Tjiani said:

So... now that the killes have proven they are NOT going to play fair during this event, I Think We should agree That during the next event there is no reason to make things easy on the killers. I swear to God this is the worst event ever. Killers bringing in Their worst builds, Moris, tunneling and camping. You do realise They made it easy for you to get the crown so there was a chance you would play fair?

i Think during next event you should make it so all 4 survivors need to be hooked for the killer to get the event-item. i really Think it’s a ######### behavior and it kind of shows who the real toxic people here are.. Think about that next time you sit and whine about how toxic survivors are.

I mainly play the licence killers, so you know... the crowns don't effect me. Why would I just go out of my way from trying to play the game and do challenges and get bp and just let all the survivors go just for a meh looking cosmetic, that doesn't effect me?

  • @Krispe said:

Hello, my name is 157C/Krispe, and I have been an active member of the Dead by Daylight community since the game's release. Like many of you here amongst this forum, as well as many of my friends and individuals I see within the official Dead by Daylight Discord, I am frustrated with the way the developers (BHVR) treat its community and handle the game they've created. I thought it appropriate at this time to write an open letter that can be seen and commented upon by the community to the developers, in hopes that they respond and address many of these community concerns as well as keep us updated on what they're working on. Within this letter, I am going to address many points and as a community, please feel free to comment on all of them, on a specific one you're passionate about or specifically agree with, or just saying you agree or disagree. If you do disagree on any of these points, please state why as I'd love to open up some dialogue to see if there's a flaw in either one of our perspectives. For some context I am not a survivor/killer main, I play both very regularly and enjoy both, so I like to think I understand what each side needs, but it also allows me to not be biassed towards one side specifically. Anyways, let's get into the points.

    1) One of the main problems plaguing the community is bugs. Lots of them. But not only that, it's the fact that some have been in the game for a long time and have still not been fixed. We as a community have become accustomed to them, and that's a problem. Now, I've dabbled in game development, more specifically UE4 and Unity (gross), and I absolutely understand that patching bugs is a very difficult task. However, some bugs not being fixed, especially when they are rather simple fixes, is something I find to be ridiculous. Let's take Ghastly Gateau for example. This is a bug affecting us all right now, it's value is wrong (Supposed to be 104%, not 140%), and is supposed to stack (It's personal). Both of these from an outside perspective looks to be two relatively easy things to change and fix. Again I don't know the coding of the game, maybe I'm wrong. But even so, some COMMUNICATION about when a fix will be deployed and why it's taking so long would be nice. (This will come up at a later point). Bugs are plaguing this game, and one thing I've advocated for a long time and will continue to advocate for is an "Operation Health" for Dead by Daylight. If you are unfamiliar with Operation Health, it was a Season within Rainbow Six: Siege, where instead of getting two new characters to play, the developers took the Season to focus on fixing bugs. While many players hated Operation Health because it denied them new content, the goal of fixing a lot of major bugs plaguing the game was completed, and absolutely increased the quality of life and longevity of the game. (It was then followed by Operation Chimera which sucked ass but we don't talk about that). My point being, I would absolutely much rather have an Operation Health within Dead by Daylight then another Chapter with a mediocre killer and survivor with crap perks. (Another point later on). Please fix the game.

    2) Communication is something I feel all developers should have regularly with their community. Not just via stream, although that is somewhat acceptable, but through social media such as Reddit and Twitter. I want to take a look at Battlefront 2 by EA. That game launched an absolute mess, and to make things worse the Community Manager (CM) at the time, never talked to its community about ANYTHING. Then a new CM was appointed, and things changed. This CM was on Reddit and Twitter very often and communicated with players about things they were thinking about implementing, bug fixes, new content, EVERYTHING. BF 2 is now one of the best Star Wars games created thanks to its developers and active communication! I'm not asking for all of that from BHVR, but I'm asking for SOME of it. These streams and Q&As aren't doing it for a lot of people, especially when you gloss over/ignore really important questions from the community. It's even worse when you answer the same question multiple times and those answers give some vague/backhanded response. Let's take the latest Q&A for example. One of the main questions was that everyone feels that PH's perks are terrible and need to either be reworked/majorly buffed, and you guys basically responded with "Well we buffed it after the Test Server so it should be fine now". Why would the question be asked again if the community felt it was fine? These kind of lazy answers are not putting faith in you to make the game a better place. Please participate more in communicating with your player base about bug fixes, reworks, etc... People will be more accepting of flaws within the game if you just communicate about it.

    3) The priorities of BHVR is something I feel needs to be addressed. This goes back to bugs of course, but just in general it's something I want to discuss. Things like the Gateau bug should have been hot fixed by now, and because of the lack of communication, we don't know if that's something they're even focusing on. I think major issues impacting the community should be the highest priority for the developers and should be communicated. As simple as that.

    4) Game balance is at a point right now where if you are not running certain perks as a survivor/killer, you have a much higher chance of getting killed/losing. Just like my idea for an Operation Health, I believe there needs to be an Operation Rework, where BHVR takes time to rebalance/rework a lot of perks/add-ons for survivors/killers. There are some perks that are not only unfun to play against but are just so BORING. Here's the list of meta perks for reference (for both survivors/killers): Sprint Burst, Adrenaline, Borrowed Time, Decisive Strike, Iron Will, Unbreakable, Dead Hard, Pop Goes the Weasel, Save the Best for Last, and Corrupt Intervention (Bolded because those are the most annoying imo). There are a few more that could be argued such as BBQ and Chili but those are the main ones I wanted to throw in there. Also, notice how there are way more meta perks for Survivor than there are for Killer. During Operation Rework, my hope would be the developers change/balance a lot of the meta perks, but more importantly, MAKE WORSE/TERRIBLE PERKS BETTER! For 4 Chapters we've gotten nothing but mediocre/crap perks. Last good killer perk being from Ghostface and last good survivor perk being from Nancy. Stop printing crappy perks and take time to make them better and make the best perks less meta. Also, take this time to rebalance a lot of really garbage addons for killers and make some killers more viable (Clown). I watched an amazing video by one of the best content creators of this game going through every killer up to Oni and talked about rebalancing them. I agreed with literally everything he had to say, and some of his suggestions were actually implemented (Trapper reset of traps). I suggest all of you, especially BHVR, take time to watch the video and CONSIDER adding some of his suggestions. Find the video here.

    5) This game is toxic. Entitled survivors and toxic killers is another major problem within this game and is arguably one of the main turn-offs for new players. The purple and red ranks are especially guilty of this. My first suggestion is to add a notification when a player you reported gets punished, you don't have to tell us their name, but let us know that reporting people is doing something. R6: Siege recently did this and it made me feel a lot more valued for reporting cheaters. Secondly, punish players for DCing. Don't let them play another match for 15 minutes, and have that time increase with each DC. Also, give the killer chase points and full sacrifice points for the DCed person. People DC because it hurts the killer's score, so making it not do that as much will make them less inclined to do it. Some of you may disagree with the abandonment penalty, but I say to you, this is a Ranked game mode, people are trying to get higher ranks, letting your players punish the killer simply by leaving makes that person's time less valuable, and makes the rank less valuable. My additional suggestion is to add a casual mode alongside the abandonment penalty, so losing score doesn't matter as much, but it also allows players to try more wacky/gimmicky builds. The penalty would only apply to Ranked. I would also like a setting to disable post-game chat. I want to be able to read my score and stats without seeing someone call me demeaning and offensive terms because they didn't like that they died or that we escaped. Toxicity needs to be stomped out, this is a fun-addicting game with a very toxic community and WILL turn people away from it.

This is pretty much everything I wanted to talk about, this took me around one and a half hours to think of and write out, so a comment about something you agreed/disagreed with would be much appreciated. If you have any of your own suggestions I would love to hear them so we can start a discussion about it. The goal of this post is to be seen and read by the developers in the hopes of a brighter and better future for this amazing game. Right now I think BHVR doesn't listen to its community and doesn't truly care for the fan-base and the amazing title they've created. I want them to prove me wrong more than anything. I love this game, my friends love this game, and I know many of you love this game too. Let's try to make the game a better place for everyone. Thank you for reading.

Operation Blood Orchid was next Chimera was the start of Year 3 S1 :D

I understand baiting the unhook but the problem is killers who just stand behind you waiting for you to be like half way through the unhook to pick you up not even interested in trying to hit you

Half the time I get a grab is when someone is actually rescuing in my face right after I hook someone or when someone runs me to the hook. But you shouldn't complain because a killer isn't going for the bait.

  • I would really just enjoy the game more if it was more viable to utilize more of the killers, cause a lot of them just aren't in a good place.

Completly agree with everything here. Take autodidact for example. It's effect when triggered can be so good but it is just so eccessively difficult to activate if when you're trying that you have to make an entire build around it almost (spine chill, empathy, etc) or it's not worth a slot.

Poised is another one to mention as well (I'm only focusing on survivor perks because I'm not super familira with all the killer ones).

Autodidact is amazing ngl fun it in every build without putting perks around it.

  • My only question is... who uses team speak?

  • Are you really complaining about hangman’s being merged from the ptb? It was busted and should not have made it at all to live

  • Doctor

If you run bbq, whispers, corrupt and pop while being able to consistently put survivors into tier 3 for most of the match then doc has insane stall to finish off the survivors because no one can do tens except possible for 2. Whispers is on there so it will always be a guaranteed tier up for madness on a survivor possibly putting them in tier 3 when their on a gen allowing you to pop it or kick it and chase them forcing gens to go slower.

There wasnt a problem b4 so y now?

That’s because it’s a mobile game. If you want DbD to normally act like a mobile game then play the mobile version.

    Trapper needed nerfing.

    Big time

The new doctor needs nerfing big time.

With trapper, I've seen it take 17 tries to get out of a trap.

The trap should be an advantage, not a guaranteed hook. It already alerts him to your location and leaves you injured. THAT ALONE IS HUGE. To hold you there for 90 seconds is BULLSHIT.

Even with a max addon, 5 tries should be the max. I've stepped in a trap and while I tried over and over to release it, the killer hooked someone, chased someone else, hit them, chased the more, hit them again, carried them to a hook, hooked them, and walked all the way across the map and I still hadn't been released.

Traps should be an advantage, NOT A GUARANTEED HOOK

    I preferred the old doctor.

    Way more fair.

    Y'all are crazy

    They always nerf survivors.

Y'all lost hex ruin and lose your minds. Survivors lost self heal, decisive strike, mettle of a man, insta heal, and oh what'd they nerf last? It was recent.

    I forget.

I'm a killer main but I play swf sometimes.

    Killers are WAAAAY too OP

Self heal exists and the others were actually bullshit that survivors had them anyway. Ruin could at least be removed from the match

  • Nerf Ruin next it regressed they gen I was on

I mean, there wouldnt be any compliants if both sides stopped acting like morons. Holy hell, listening to entitled survivors and entitled killers endlessly ######### and moan about everything really pisses me off. I play casually, I want to have fun. If you want a sweaty 2 minute game, then the devs should add ranked. If you just want to chill and play casually, then play q new casual mode.

Having a casual mode is a great idea if you ask me.

The issue is that there is only a “ranked” mode

  • @Ardjet said:

They literally mentioned in the previous dev update that they would be stealthily testing the new rating system in the coming weeks, and during that time you could experience some weird matches - I´ve for sure noticed it more recently than ever. This is fine as long as it leads to better matchmaking in the upcoming patch when the system is correctly implemented.

I have my hopes up - but I would like for the rating to be seen, so that I have some sort of indication on how I´m doing.

That’s cool I didn’t know the devs were doing that. So that makes sense on why I am getting Rank 1 swfs because I play like a rank 1 killer but my rank got reset further than it should have so I got sent back to 10 rather than to 5

  • It really does suck when your put against those ranks. But as you go and if you are able to rank up as you keep playing and playing against them you will see some patterns to take advantage of in the survivors. I was a former rank 1 but got deranked because of the reset but at rank 10 I still get rank 1 swf which isn’t as hard to deal with after the experience as a killer. If you keep playing more and more you can bully the survivors and get really good at the game which I don’t doubt you will.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/133311/ooo-in-the-shrine-youre-kidding

i'm curious.....how is OoO unfun for killers? you do realise that only 1 person can be obsession. correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm assuming because there can only be 1 obsession, that means that the perk will only work on 1 person right? and it also allows the killer to see where the survivor is anyway. and honestly, how often do you see OoO being used. yes its in the shrine but i suspect not many people will use it or it will be a novelty for a few days then everyone will be over it.

if you think OoO is an issue then i'm surprised you don't think MYC or IM are an issue also or unfun for a survivor. both put you in exposed effect and basically alert the killer where you are.

It works on multiple if others have it they’re not the obsession but it still works on it

  • There is also 4 survivors and 1 killer so that 80% is one dude vs the 46 percent of 4 survivors so DS is far more prevalent

  • These challenges are you way better and easier in my opinion. I have about one more page of the rift left before being done. So when the next one comes out I’m gonna be done most likely

  • My least favorite to go against is wraith because every time I go against him it’s a noob who tunnels the duck out of players and camps.

i like demos because most of them are babies and do rather poorly. But for a challenge I like new doctor or huntress

  • @mmain said:

If I understand correctly the new DC penalties are to punish people that disconnect in a match simply because they don't like the way the match is going. The rationale is that disconnecting is unfair to the rest of the people in the match. I 100% agree this needed to be done.

I posted a thread yesterday about queue times on PS4 and had people started commenting on it how when they play killer and they get stuck in a lobby they don't like because of the amount of survivors with toolboxes or whatever reason they just dodge it. Toolboxes are part of the game. The rationale behind dodging in this situation is no different than the rationale of disconnecting in a match. They don't like something so they dodge. Dodging is still disconnecting. It's just done in the lobby instead of the match. It's just as unfair to the people you dodged as disconnecting in match. Sometimes it's more unfair because you may end up waiting 30 minutes or more for your lobby to fill again.

Why does lobby dodging get a free pass when it's done for exactly the same reason as disconnecting?

I’ll start disconnecting during loading it will be quicker for me to get into the game and another lobby than it will be for them to load into the match I left and to find another game. I like that more than lobby dodging.

  • I say gg wp no matter how the match went or how angry I am

  • I was playing a match with my friend and we were near each other next to a gen and I go “ Let me heal you” and he goes “Nah I got self care you work on the gen” and by the time he fully healed I finished the gen and I was like that was a waste of time

  • @EldritchElise87 said:

Corrupt, does old Ruins job for me just fine, as long as I can get somebody on a hook before gens start popping, i'm good.

Agreed I have not had a single issue with corrupt if anything it’s better because it’s consistent

  • Why should we care if he left because he doesn’t have game awareness? It’s not hurting the game because more people are playing it than before.

  • I only lobby dodge if I see a Laurie, because most likely it’s object and ds and a swf and that’s not fun. Or if I see a key I’m out.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

They also said that they will adjust toolboxes. That they are also looking into more interaction with Totems (aka more time spend not on Gens) and the Maps might get smaller.

    Totally Survivor-biased.

Wrote it in another thread: You hear what you want to hear.

Agreed I’m a killer main and I do t think I bet heard them scream more nerfs for killers or say anything about to they do hear what they want to. They just said perks that slow down should not work all together which is why they changed ruin so pop won’t work on it also. It’s kinda sad they overlooked the changes that the devs said are going to survivors like they said over time there will be more stuff for survivors to do to escape.

  • image.jpeg

This match making should not occur even for survivors and I was playing solo. My Killer matches at rank 1 look similar to this and it’s just not even fun when your just destroying someone who can’t even loop or play well.

She has the same lunge distance as every killer outiside of the Michael. The time delay now prevents that, they survivor gets a substantial head start.

Ok makes sense, it should be fixed but I don’t think it’s a nerf but a bug. Or was it in the patch notes?

You can, you have to time it right. But its no longer there and now there is a time delay on even a basic attack out of trap.

But doesn’t she already have a wicked long lunge anyway? So can you just come out of a trap chase for a second and lunge?

  • When Otzdarva plays hag he says a lot that you can’t lunge out of the trap

  • Doc should be able to deny vaulting or pallet dropping otherwise he can only rely on addons for his power

  • Bubba is honestly fine he just needs better addons.

  • Start of the match as Freddy use the class photo addon and see what gens they’re all at with surveillance

  • My only rule for killer is if I see someone who seems new they can escape because that’s not fun if they’re in a SWF and their against a rank 1 killer

  • if you actually bother to play the game then you can have at least or almost all the teachable sand just buy them from the shrine for bp
