Well i mean that when i say it.

    I prefer complete originality.

Even when an original killer is created for the game, its always based on past horror tropes anyways. So it's not exactly completely original.

  • I don't see it working out as well as people think it will. But it will be fun to laugh it when it ends up being worse than the current system.

Why is there a need for it? If you loop a killer around a pallet for 15 seconds or more, why are you even wasting time chasing them? Just that is 15 seconds you AREN'T applying pressure to gens or other survivors. Killers really need to learn when to break a chase, rather than attempting to get a survivor with Bloodlust.

Make every pallet extremely unsafe, fix the map sizes and then remove bloodlust. Otherwise it needs to stay. Plain and simple. The fact that you people feel entitled to safe pallet loops that can't be mind gamed shows the kind of players that BVHR has created with their ######### bandaid balance tactics. I will never understand the survivor philosophy of "I should never be caught ever because reasons". Survivors really need to learn to break LOS, instead of relying on safe loops to win chases.

  • @OperationMintyHippo said:

@starkiller1286 That's frustrating then. It requires entirely no skill at all, making these killers never attempt at being better, but still being rewarded for it with a down eventually. I was this only guy's kill because he tunneled me all game and got me with bloodlust and noed at the end. I'm glad my team got out, but it doesn't feel good to be cheated by BHVR at the end and dying to a poor mechanic.

If they are keeping this as a pathetic, interim map "balancer" it still needs a major nerf. Remove tier 3, at the very least, ya know?

I love how people like you want to increase every killer's skill floor but never want to raise the skill floor for survivors. Bloodlust still exists because the maps are still ######### terrible. It is a bandaid fix to keep chases from going on forever, and if a survivor knows what they're doing the killer will end up losing BL breaking a super safe pallet. With the current state of this game, you have no right to ######### about anything on the killer side.

Yes I agree there is a time and place for these tactics. But I don't think is is the occasional opoortunistic use that people have a problem with.

It's when it is used all game. Game after game as the killers' primary strategy that many find unappealing and unfun.

While I agree with you I've learn that no matter what strategy you use, one of the four survivors is going to call it "unfun". The only strategy that some survivors enjoy involves them escaping 100% of the time. Maybe if I played wraith and just AFK'd in the basement I could give them the kind of match they want.

  • @siren_sorceress said:

Killers are far worse than survivors. Killers dont complain in the end game chat as much bc they risk arguing against 4 other players. Instead, they come here and the steam forums and ask everything a survivor has to be nerfed and threaten to ruin everyone's game when the game doesnt get balanced their way. Survivors are far less bias than killers. I read far more survivors who care for the well being of killers than I ever have seen from killers. Killers have aggressively pushed back on every single change from body blocking the basement stairs to face camping/blocking hook saves. They stand by the worst, unhealthy strats while many, many survs spoke out about their own side's issues and continue to do so. Any killer that doesnt agree with the mob mentality and says he does fine gets called a liar or "you're just playing against potatoes."

The, "I'm not bias disclaimer," was cute though.

Those same survivors you speak so highly of also thought that the old exhaustion system was balanced, old 8 second self care, the old double window killer shack, pallet vacuums, old mettle of man, as well as the old BNP. Tell me more about how survivor players are perfect little cinnamon buns unlike the toxic killers. Accept the fact that OP was right, and (almost) everyone in this community complains when the opposition plays their best. This place is made up of the type of person that says a character is broken in a fighting game just because they suck at facing them. If survivors could choose the killers they faced, it would be a very short list. Survivors need to learn to treat killers like the opposition, instead of a ######### fun provider.

  • The days of transparency and actual dev communication are over. The only reason the players exist now is to give them money, because it doesn't look like they're taking feedback anymore.

  • Remember Evolve? That game tried to implement a MMR system as well. Then it went free to play. Then it died.

DBD isn't nearly as complex as Evolve was and has entirely too much RNG for a MMR system to work. This is just a ploy to get rid of ranks and blame their infantile "MMR based matchmaking" when people inevitably complain about unbalanced matches. Sounds like a recipe for success.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

Ive seen green ranks slaughter red ranks.

I know this looks bad but I can not stress enough that most red rank survivors would be around rank 10 like the killer with old rank reset.

All the genuine skilled survivors seem to be rank 1

What about when they get matched with a brown or a yellow rank killer? Did you see them slaughter red ranks too? All this does is prove that this stupid ass game never should have had ranks to begin with, because BVHR clearly don't know what they're doing.

  • @Victor_hensley said:

Feels like everyone refuse to look at both sides and stand ground for life about their stance. I guess people can't handle opinions on a forum, you know, a place to discuss your opinions?

Try the Overwatch forum for a day. You'll know true salt and hatred in those lands.

  • @Xerge said:

It's kinda stunning that some players consider that in order to have fun playing killer some players seem to need to resort to some sort of group therapy. It would be even more stunning if the players felt they actually need to prepare mentally and emotionally in order to enjoy the game. This game really is quite something else if that's the case.

It's basically all you can do if you're a killer main at this point. I've decided to just play Monster Hunter and hope the game gets to a state I can enjoy it without disregarding match outcomes. Been uninstalled since the Plague chapter so it isn't looking good.

  • This might be off topic but it's a reminder that some things are more important than whining about X killer being overpowered because of Y anecdotal reason. So I'm all for remembering a legend.

  • All they've said is that they're looking into it. Which means it's not a priority.

  • All of those things literally broke the game and were basically uncounterable. Yet all of the killer nerfs have been in the name of "reducing survivor frustration". Oh, and the DS change was a sidegrade. Just like damn near every so called survivor nerf. No survivor nerf to date besides pallet vacuums and the exhaustion nerf has noticeably reduced survivor power. Try another image.

The console war only exists if you're a child or an idiot.

Lerys looks great but like everything else in this game, it's about as optimized as windows vista.

  • The design team is top notch. The balance team is disconnected from the game and too up their own asses to accept being wrong. They're amateurs at this and it shows.

  • I'm getting annoyed at seeing cringey posts that are annoyed by people expressing valid opinions. So that makes two of us.

  • This is probably the best post I've seen here in a while. Good on you.

Its risky because theres no guarantee they’re going to block it successfully also the other survivor would have to sprint, hoping the person doing the rescue can tank the hit before the guy unhooked sets off a trap.

Basically in a solo game if you don’t have DS you’re likely dead.

That's what DS exists for. I don't know what other welfare perks you people need to play a game thata already skewed in your favor. Maybe a kevlar vest item that gives you another health state?

  • I wish the devs listened to people like you. But they obviously don't. We have to move on, sadly. I'd say see you in the fog, but I'm having too much fun with Monster Hunter to bother.

Actually the only perk close to the same usage as ruin is self care lol

Which means they cover all ranks instead of just the people who know how to play. Which is why usage based changes are a flawed way of balancing in games that aren't strictly competitive like League of Legends. Especially when you decide to ignore the reason it was uses to focus on the "fun" of the team based role.

If the devs don't want killers to stack gen slowing perks, survivors shouldn't be able to stack second chances either. Like the devs said in their little stream, "there's a lot of other perks out there!"

  • @LoverOfDemogorgon said:

Getting tired of killers immediately assuming every swf I play in is some .000000000000005% meta gen rush squad and bring out the most sweaty killers and builds with an ebony mori and proceeds to ghostface tbag the entire match and mori everyone off a two hook because we didn't play perfect and loop him for 3 gens a chase so we get punished with getting tunneled into death... devs please do something about mori's they are broken and make the game utterly unfun for survivors and give no points to anyone.

My suggestion is simple, leave cypress as is, make ivory mori work only when you get one survivor to death hook status, and ebony work when you can kill all survivors only when they are death hook, why this hasn't been done is beyond me. Even as a player who enjoy's both sides fervently this change should have been done a long time ago.

Probably not the right time for this. Might want to wait for the wounds to heal a little bit, but go off. I'm sure you won't get any hate for demanding more killer nerfs after like 3 straight nerfs in a row.

I just want your opinion on it.

Personally for me doctor now, who was my fav character feels so brain dead with this machine gun shock blast. A person before had to actually think how to mind game the doc so he misses and the doc himself had to actually aim and think. I personally feel ######### brain dead now playing as doc especially when its a machine gun shock. Shock them once and from there you can shock them so often they wont be mindgaming me anywhere in mindgameable areas.

Give your thoughts on this. There was 1 person around here who gave a whole essay on why doc should have at least some type of 2.5 sec cooldown or something, to which I agree.

One. If he had a 2.5 second cooldown, he wouldn't be able to capitalize on the time the survivor spends stunned. He already self slows when he does it. That is enough of a drawback.

Two. The doctor was able to shock much easier before when his shock addons added width. At least now you have to aim. Before it was basically a missile launcher.

Three. I'm glad neither you nor the person who wrote that ######### essay about nerfing the doctor are developers, because you have worse idea than the actual devs. And that's saying a lot, because their ideas are pretty bad.

Can we go five seconds without another killer nerf?

  • @sluc16 said:

Seriously what were they thinking with the rework? How to make a killer that requires 0 skills to find survivor? Cause if that was the idea, mission accomplished

His entire shtick is finding survivors. That always been his kit. ######### is wrong with you? Do you actually play the game? Complaining about him finding you is like complaining about the Trapper locking down an area. With, you know, his traps. If you're complaining about what the killer was literally made to do, that means the killer is doing their job.

Well I’m in the camp that thinks end game crutches like adrenaline and NOED shouldn’t be able to screw the other side at the last second. Nobody likes the blue shell.

I’ll stick those in the airlock instead.

Stop perk shaming people. If you want to look at it a certain way, EVERY perk is a crutch. Dead Hard screws a killer out of a hit or extends a loop. Self Care undoes the damage a killer worked hard to inflict on you. Sprint Burst rewards bad positioning. Lithe strengthens unsafe pallets and windows. Borrowed Time rewards bad hook saves. Decisive Strike is a second chance crutch. Etcetera. Unless you play perkless every game, you have no right to judge anyone for the perks they use.

As they say, people in glass houses should shut the ######### up.

Not sure if you were around for last year's Chinese new year with the lanterns that made Survivors sparkle. That might be an interesting thing.

I adore your videos and am surprised you haven't been banned here. Anyways. I personally feel that when a survivor cleanses a hex, they should take the debuff into themselves. For instance, lullaby skill checks, regressing any gen they touch if they cleanse bad!Ruin, or being blinded for the remainder of the match if they cleanse third seal. Dunno what I would do in regards to devour hope.

All this being said, I doubt the devs will make hex cleansing come with a risk. That would make survivors too frustrated and antsy, and actually have to make meaningful decisions. They've cemented the fact that they want all of the frustration on the killer side.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Exhaustion Add Ons are pure Bullshit. Especially because when you consider that they are from a time where Exhaustion still recovered while running and because they are cheap. My "favorite" Add On is Berus Toxin. It only costs 3k BPs and does the same as the green Add On. Because if it is 30 seconds or 90 seconds does not matter, because Exhaustion will not go down during that chase.

And 3k BP to disable strong Perks?

I once compared it to old Ruin and those Toolbox Add Ons which increase the Skill Check Zones. Imagine they would increase the Skill Check Zones of Hex Skill Checks. Everyone would riot, because you can make it even easier to hit greats.

So yeah, Exhaustion Add Ons are a relict from the past and should be converted into different Add Ons or at least should be pricy. But you can get a tons of those, because they are cheap af.

Let's turn all of the exhaustion addons into blindness ones. Because that totally helps the killer and isn't a horrible status effect at all.

  • @Peanits said:

You'd apply pressure the same way you would as any killer. It's not exclusive a select few.

To give an example, say you have one on the hook, you slugged a second that went for the save, and then you left and found a third survivor to chase. That's three people not on generators, and the hooked survivor will die if they don't go for the save. This isn't an extremely uncommon scenario. Even assuming you don't have somebody slugged, you can have one hooked, one in chase, and a third going for the save, leaving only one person on a generator.

Pressure does not mean only chases.

"Pressure doesn't mean only chases". Except that everything you stated starts with a chase. So pressure is literally ending chases quickly. You guys do play this game, right?

  • @ClickyClicky said:

Oh dear ad19970 I do pity you. You’ve just opened yourself up to 10 pages full of abuse for even suggesting a slight killer nerf based on your experience. You know the rules of the dbd forums, killer nerfs must NEVER be mentioned.

I’ve noticed that pretty much every Doc I go against gets the 4k. His static blast when spammed as often as possible can be a little but irritating too. He’s not a killer I hate going against however.

I feel like its still too early to say whether he’s a little bit too strong or not. On one hand survivors need to learn the best counterplay and need some experience going against him. On the other hand new killers often do poorly as players are inexperienced at using them yet Doc is going well. Doc is different though as he instantly feels familiar but is so much more powerful.

I’m not worried though. Unlike most here I have confidence that people are monitoring the data on Doc and will tweak accordingly if there are any problems.

Oh please. It's not about killers "never being nerfed" you sanctimonious donkey. It's about the fact that for the last 4 months it's been repeated ######### killer nerfs. So instead of having knee jerk reactions and expecting garbage survivors to be constantly catered to, maybe the community should let the doctor rework settle for a minute without making "nerf this killer because I'm a ######### noob" threads for five damn seconds? He literally JUST got reworked and the entire point of the design was to make him EASIER FOR SURVIVORS TO DEAL WITH. Everything he does has a way to defeat it. You just can't loop him on autopilot which is something survivors have always struggled with understanding.

I try to be civil but this forum community is just. Ugh. The amount of one sided BS is getting old. And I think you're wrong about survivor complaint threads not leading to nerfs. Every nerf has had complaint threads previously. Even if the thing wasn't actually OP, and survivors just "don't like it".

  • Lol no. I'd recommend they play Last Year or wait for Resistance. Unless they plan to be a survivor main only, then sure I would recommend it. Along with a Netflix subscription for those queue times.

  • Why does borrowed time not work in the dream world? Because as the devs like to say: "It would suck having something like that in the game that you couldn't deal with". Don't worry though, if you complain enough I'm sure they'll change Borrowed time to be proximity based instead of terror radius based. It's not like survivors don't already use it for stupidly unsafe unhooks or anything.

    Oh wait.

  • It's honestly never going to die. Thanks to auric cells I'm sure the whales can keep this zombified corpse of a game going for quit some time. Thata probably why they're pushing the monetization so hard.

None of them can snowball like Billy. None of them.

How often does Myers get a grab? Very very rarely. Once he tiers up though that stealth is gone. He can snowball but like oni, after a while he reverts back to tier 2 and the instadowns stop. Hillbilly has those instadowns all game 24/7 and then he can cross the map and back again in seconds. Myers cant.

This is the difference between all those killers and Billy. Billy has the instadowns permanently and on demand. The rest only have them for a limited time and have to do something to earn it.

Leatherface doesnt compare because his chainsaw is harder to hit since it slows him down and he suffers a far bigger penalty if he hits a wall.

Ghostface is BS but thats another story for another time.

None of them compare to Billy. Billy has his snowball potential from the start of the game until the very end. One mistake and its curtains for the survivors. Myers and Oni only have their chance at certain intervals, Trapper is more of a late game snowball.....again Hillbilly is an overwhelming threat right from the start of the trial.

So any killer with snowball potential should be nerfed to not have snowball potential? Got it. Maybe the trials should start with all of the gens 99'd while we're at it.

  • This thread was a mistake. Killers are already heated and now you want to do this. Great job kicking an atomic hornet's nest full of radioactive demon hornets. Demon hornets aside, I love how you people want every strong killer to be a rubik's cube in return for their power but you also seem want survivor gameplay to be as smooth and easy as holding M1. Because I NEVER see threads asking for more complex survivor gameplay. Just people wanting to "raise the skill floor" for killers. And the sad thing is, the devs seem to agree with you lot and I'm sick of it.

Why don't you think we'll be getting a RE chapter soon-ish? I've got a tinfoil hat theory that I'm planning on releasing fairly soon, hopefully that can sway your opinion a bit.

As you can probably guess, I do disagree about your opinion on how much ST fit in but to each their own.

Why would they want to give their characters to a competitor when they have an asymmetrical game coming out in literal months? Whatever your theory is it can't explain that.

  • @Watery said:

RE Chapter: Would either have Claire or Leon as a survivor. Maybe even both, or just one in the form of Jill.

I’d imagine the next survivor is going to be a dude, or it’s going to be a year of female survivors and a year of male survivors, then licensed content.

It’s hard to tell with the recent releases.

RE Resistance is coming out with RE3 in a few months. A Resident Evil chapter is never going to happen since would be competing with their own game. Never going to happen.

  • @Aneurysm said:

You forget there's even supposed to be an event on until hooking or finishing a gen. No extra bloodpoints, cool cosmetics but that you have to pay for (auric cells only ofc) instead of earning like past events. Events were one of the more fun parts of this game but it seems like they're being sacrificed to focus all time and energy on the battlepass instead, it's pretty sad.

That's what happens when developers get a taste of that microtransaction money. When they first announced auric cells I knew it was going this route. And the whales will happily make it worth it for them.

  • Sigh. These are the kind of players the devs have created. The responses are nice and informative but OP (and others) still flail like a dying pigeon against them because they have it in their mind that no killer should ever be able to find them. Even when that's the entire point of the killer's kit. Even when its tied to the killer's terror radius. Even when it has a timer almost as long as completing a god damn generator. Unbelievable levels of entitlement that are only going to get worse the more the devs cater to garbage players.

"If it detects me it's BS". ######### really?

So I've just reached both Rank 1 killer and survivor and I'm not gonna lie it was boring and frustrating on both sides.

    Killer:

You either tunnel slug or use noed. Games are either under 5 mins(nobody pips) or they drag out and you get a tonne of abuse for playing this way. The amount of survivors I've seen calling for slugging to be fixed or noed removed is actually bullshit and shows how the community expects Devs to cater to survivors

    Survivors:

Spend 90% of the game being slugged or you're out of the exit gates in under 5 mins with 0 pips. Frustrating both ways.

Me and my mates are going to be waiting for project resistance. Dbd shows no chance of changing back so why keep playing

I played the closed beta for project resistance. If the devs there stay committed to their goals (balancing for the middle instead of catering to noobs) then game should turn out pretty well. The Predator game looks pretty decent too. Maybe if DBD has other games poaching its playerbase the devs might learn how to balance their game. Or they won't and it'll end up like Deathgarden.

Its not like they didn't have a breaking one 2 months ago. When was the last time a killer got one, may I ask you?

Okay. The Wake Up bug speeding up all actions for survivors which made games more unbearable, as well as the "getting stuck in pallets" bug that still hasn't been fixed. Bugged sound occlusion that still hasn't been fixed. Trapper getting stuck in his own traps when setting them. Hag can't lunge after teleporting. The various Nurse blink dead zones on every map. The old nurse double stun after a lethal blink that took ages to fix. Survivors being able to blind you from behind. Wraith post uncloak speed boost and the spirit's post phase speed that literally just got fixed. Wraith's infinite light burn bug which STILL hasn't been fixed. Stop acting cute.

Anyways, since this bug only affects survivors ir should be fixed before the month is out. Unlike killers who had to wait three months to get proper sound back.

The only thing relevant to me is pc. Idc about console. The game is designed and balanced around mouse and keyboard. Nothing else should really be considered with regards to balancing. Console either needs it's own, separate balancing/patches or it needs to get the same changes as pc.

Your ignorance is baffling. Being a PC player myself, I find it hilarious that you fail to recognize that the issue is not "balancing" when it comes to console. The devs are ######### at optimization. And that has nothing to do with being "balanced around mouse and keyboard". The devs. Are #########. At optimization. And if they didnt want to optimize/balance things for consoles, they never would have released it for said consoles in the first place. After all this time, the way this game plays for my console brethren is laughable.

Treatment grab is gone. Reduced to atoms.

  • For once I agree with you. Escaping should always at least net a black pip for survivors, and a 2k or more should always at baseline black pip the killer.

  • I preferred both roles right after the Halloween update. The game was definitely more unbalanced for both sides back then, but I had a hell of a lot more fun. Definitely feel like a hipster saying this but the more popular this game gets the more the community goes to shite. It's the reason I quit actively playing around the Plague release.

If it wasn't for the great content creators and the hilarious forum posts I probably wouldn't follow the game at all tbh.
