There's a problem, there's things on pc and things on ps4 that are differently. So it's kinda impossible to keep your progress.

how do you want to save the game. You are playing on a different platform than us.

Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Destiny all do it. Not to mention cross save with the Witcher between Switch and PC. The fact is, the devs are too incompetent here to do cross save, and it would also hurt their pocketbook if people didnt switch platforms and rebuy all the DLC. Stop making excuses for them.

the instant ads is quite insane when it comes to predicting when to dodge and when to keep running, with huntress you see it coming and can react accordingly. with deathslinger you cant. i think he should have a slower ADS

    Because it's a gun.

And if you gave him slower ADS it would cripple him. He already has to reload after every shot and be pinpoint accurate. You survivor mains really want everything in your favor don't you?

I just got done with a match playing against the clown killer. It's bad enough that his gas if you get hit by it slows you down, but he's so incredibly fast that I believe the only character faster than him would be the hillbilly when he's using his chainsaw Sprint... It's ridiculous. The killer while chasing after me knocked me down even though he had about 5 ft to go to round a wall and turn 180 degrees and go another five feet to hit me... Like really??? It's like trying to outrun an F1 car while riding a tricycle... If nothing else his top-end needs to be curbed.

Spoken like a true noob. Clown and Bubba share the bottom rung of the killer ladder so everyone is going to ignore your opinion. Drop pallets early and learn to look behind you. Git gud scrub.

Survivor is getting super repetitive too with killers simply trying to optimise to deal with this somewhat elusive meta build, which I rarely find one of. I have versed so many Hillbillies that I'm almost at the point of asking for an "Avoid this killer" feature to stop versing so many of them. I don't know how bad the original Nurse Pandemic was on PC, but I think that I equal or beat that number. Or I did anyway when I first hit purple, and he was 95% of games.

If red-rank players in general just decided to chill out and just play something fun, rather than just what is popular or powerful, then getting to red might actually be something to look forward too, let purples sweat it out then when you get to red you get to relax and play a meme build or two.

The only other thing that I can suggest is making a new account, rarely playing it and going on every now and again just for a bit of fun. I have several mates who don't play that often any more, so I have an account where they won't run into my red/purple killers and it is a bit more balanced since I don't use level 3 perks, except for some of the weaker ones.

Judging by my roommate's experience, I'm pretty sure people on console play Hillbilly so they don't get bullied. Since I've never heard of survivors giving a ######### about the killer's experience, but always expect killer players to run "fun" builds and "fun" killers all while why run the most optimized builds imaginable and abuse how crappy killer FPS can be on console (360s work against killers consistently on console due to frame drops, not so much on PC).

I highly doubt red rank killers or survivors will ever just chill since they constantly feel like they have to "prove" their rank. When rank is pretty much meaningless at this point anyways.

To be fair, doc's rework actually made him way stronger than before.

That is in spite of the reason for it. They did not rework him because killers asked, they reworked him because survivors complained.

  • @Predated said:

I have had way too many games were survivors were slugged and left to be bled out. Sure, not all killers are like that, but the fact that there are killers who try to force survivors to either disconnect, which they cant do without recieving the penalty(so being forced to stay 2 minutes in an unplayable game, which should be bannable for keeping the game hostage, even though its "just 2 minutes" regardless of the fact it can take up to 20 minutes to find a game, meaning you have to spend up to 42 minutes before you can actually play a playable game).

Normally, any action that has little risk shouldnt have a massive reward. Its why camping, even though annoying, doesnt really give that much reward. Doing a pallet drop is a bit riskier, because it can still allow the killer to hit you or you happen to remove a really good late game pallet really early, which will definitely bite you in your ass later on, however, if you happen to pull off the stun, you buy some time that will allow you to probably not need that pallet in the first place and often it would be more efficient for killers to ignore the dropped pallet etc.

Slugging, however, fails to fit any of these catagories. The only risk is the possibility for someone having a certain perk and them crawling away, but any human with ears should be able to easily locate them again as Iron Will doesnt have an effect on the dying state(and Stridor, even though it should be like Iron Will, DOES apply to the dying state), but its another perk that would otherwise be required to make slugging risky.

But ofcourse, it shouldnt be too easy for survivors to do so, my reasoning here would be, that if the downed survivor leaves the killer terror radius, should be able to pick oneself up after a tough skill check(not Overcharge tough, more like Brand New Part tough, especially if Lullaby is applied), and if they happen to miss that skill check, the killer gets a notification and their recovery is reset to 50%. That way, slugging is a bit more risky for the massive reward it otherwise grants. Either that, or at least let 2 downed survivors who are next to each other be able to pick each other up(which would be a lot stronger than being able to pick yourself up with a skill check).

Sure, its a complicated solution which could just as easily be countered with a perk, but as many, MANY killers will tell you, perks or addons shouldnt be required to counter another perk(check the OoO discussion, you'll find a lot of killers basically claiming that). So survivors shouldnt require unbreakable to counter slugging(I guess you could put in no mither there too, but no killer would leave someone with no mither on the floor). And just to repeat, this is only meant to add some risk to slugging. Unbreakable would still be a lot more reliable as you wont require a skill check, hell, I'd say No Mither would still be more reliable. It also shouldnt counter a Haunted Grounds or NOED slugfest as its not meant to basically be a free pick-me-up. Perhaps the way I described it could require a bit more of a downside, perhaps even recieving the broken status for a minute after picking yourself up, all I want is just a slight risk for killers to leave a survivor behind while still heavily patrolling that area to slug the rest.

No. People like you should keep their opinions to themselves. This suggestion stinks of bias and you should be ashamed back into the basement for even thinking of this. Killers used to use Ruin is pressure, devs removed that. Now killers slug to force survivors off gens and you want that removed. Go ######### yourself.

Title. Between the 20+ minute queue times for low rank killers due to the SWF changes (OhTofu just did an awesome video on it, go check it out to see a more elegant explanation), the next to worthless tutorial that doesn't explain perks, bloodwebs, killer powers, or other major gameplay aspects, and the fact that a new player starts with literally nothing, and has to play a game blind with no perks and next to no explanations, I genuinely don't understand how this game gets any new players. I have personally had 3 friends that were super excited to try the game quit within a week, because the game is so tremendously unfun to a player that's new. I'm trying to get yet another friend into it, because I do genuinely think that it's a great game once you get a head of steam, but thanks to the new SWF changes I can't play with him on my main without him dying in literally 10 seconds to a rank 1 killer. So now I'm contributing to the problem by making a smurf account, solely so I can play with a new friend.

This game needs an offline area for survivors to test killers and perks. The game needs a comprehensive tutorial with killer powers, tile explanations, and examples of perks in action. The game needs a way for new players to rank up survivors other than a cycle of hide-die-repeat until they either understand the game thru beating their head against it or quit. Without new players, this game dies, and as of right now there really isn't a good reason to be a new player in DBD.

While DBD isnt the friendliest, I can tell you haven't played Warframe or DOTA. Their new player experience is horrendous.

  • Deep Wound on Huntress hatchets. I could legitimately see them doing that.

  • Survivor: None, because every map is doable as survivor. Even Hawkins if you're not a moron.

No way. This would be heavily abused. Hex totem got cleansed? Open the gate. Had a bad first chase? Open the gate. It would be ridiculous, the escape points arent enough. It would have the give the survivors a pip as well as a lot more points to even be considered.

If the killer concedes survivors should instantly black pip with a score event that says "Bullying successful". Problem solved.

  • Either chase someone without hitting them or go to a corner in the basement. If you're on PC, alt tab out and watch Netflix or something. Killers will never get an option to peace out of the game because it "isn't fair to the survivors that just wanted to play the game" even though survivors can just suicide on hook if they don't want to play anymore.

Remember, it is your job as killer to ensure the survivors have a good time and pip up. Put on your clown wig and dance.

I'm pretty sure the only reason they don't is because either their patching process is a mess like everything else they do, or they don't want premature community rage (for obvious reasons) due to upcoming changes.

It should absolutely be bannable if you're intentionally doing it for an advantage.

Which is why they post warnings in game for things like that (legion blade exploit for example), so that people are aware that they are exploiting an issue.

If they cant or wont disable it, telling people,"hey this isnt supposed to do this, if you abuse it, you will be banned" seems a logical recourse.

My thing is, they should post it in the news of the game. Not the forums. I've played this game since release and only started using the forums a few months ago. Most players aren't registered here.

That's hilarious since survivor mains outnumber killers and always have. Keep living in that bubble of yours.

  • Every online game punishes you for leaving because it impacts everyone else when you decide to yeet your ethernet cable out because you don't want to play anymore. I'd rather players like OP to just leave the game entirely. In PVP games, not every match is going to cater to your idea of fun. Get. Over. Yourself. People like OP ruin CS:GO, League, and other games that I play.

Obviously Im gonna go over there. what do they want me to just stand in a corner and let them do gens and skip out to the exit. I dont understand.

Because the devs have created a survivor culture where they think they should always escape. Killer players aren't much better to be fair, but given the number of survivors in the community they're often a lot louder when they screech.

  • Maps in general, but put in my vote for Haddonfield and Ormond. I hate both of them.

  • They're working on it. Due to the nature of his reveal mechanic and the outright busted state of the game itself, it's going to take a while. For now, try revealing him when he isnt looking at you. It seems to be easier that way. It you have a friend that uses GF you can do a KYF match to practice the reveal sweet spot.

NOED takes 80 seconds to deactivate DS only takes 60. Against a killer who doesn't tunnel you're left with 3 perk slots all game, Killers have a method to make sure DS never activates AT ALL they don't even have to disable it they just have to not tunnel the unhooked survivor. The presence of NOED is at the killers discretion until after the game is over or its served its purpose. If you equip it at all survivors are either forced to hand the killer 80 seconds of free time or sacrifice one person at end game.

You're proving everyone's point here. Instead of wanting to take time to make sure the perk doesnt activate, you use whataboutism to compare it to DS. DS is always a threat and even punishes you if all four survivors run it, and you happen to snowball because they made mistakes. Stop acting like DS is used purely to stop tunneling. It's used as a 60 second immunity perk.

And the devs already spoke on NOED. I don't think you'll be able to bully them into a nerf this time.

  • @kate_best_girl said:

Im sorry but its not a punishment on survivors for not doing totems its literally just a reward for a killer who performs bad. Its only a clutch perk made for 1k end game face camps and thats really it. If it stopped being a hex and actually took effort and something for the killer to activate it it would be great but all it does is give you a kill for free :/ I keep seeing people say "Well just cleanse totems!" Okay well I'd like to present the argument of when someone jumps into a locker with DS just open the locker! It gets rid of DS and you don't have to wait 60 seconds to chase that survivor again! Both wasting time to cleanse totems on a chance the killer is running a perk is a huge waste of time and could cost you a game same as a locker DS could so why is one perfectly fine but the other is a huge detrimental problem that the entire community must rally against?

50/50 player here. If I can take a DS stun, deal with people using borrowed time to unhook in my face, deal with dead hard extending loops, AND deal with the survivor objective being easier in general... you can run small game (or detective's hunch) and cleanse dull totems. I haven't seen a NOED in my game in ages. Know why? Because I run Detective's Hunch and break totems. But that would require you to deviate from the patented lazy survivor build of DH, DS, BT, Adren. So there's that.

Anyways. The killer sacrifices an entire perk slot for (possible) endgame strength since the perk can be removed by the opposing side. No survivor perks can be removed without killing the survivor, so be happy you can even stop NOED in the first place. Get over hating on this perk like a typical "survivor main" and do the ######### bones.

  • That video hit the nail on the head. Granted. I used to straight up hate Scott Jund when I only played killer because I always thought he was survivor biased when it came to balance. When I started playing more survivor and became a 50/50 player, I started to realized how biased and ignorant of the other side "mains" can be. Mains are bad for the game full stop, and should never be involved in discussing balance for the other side. Since it's hard to have empathy for a side of the game you never touch, which creates entitlement and eventually resentment. I feel like the healthiest thing for this game would be for more people to try both sides.

Since the more you play survivor, the less things like flashlight clicking and teabagging will bother you. You also start to realize that things like DS and BT are pretty mandatory in solo queue. And the more you play killer, the more you'll realize that that Trapper you accused of "tunneling you off hook" literally had no other plays at that point in the match. The Us v. Them mentality has never helped this game in any capacity. Scott's video should be pinned on the forum.

But doesn't taking him out of his stealth reveal your location to him? Most of the time, Ghostface finds me because I found him. I find that incredibly frustrating that I reveal my location by looking around the map. Not to mention 50-60% of my games every time I play are Ghostface and I'm so bored I'm playing the game less and less.

Before, revealing ghostface didn't give him killer instinct on your location. So survivors were able to freely reveal him, at no cost to themselves, and get bloodpoints for it. I don't understand some survivor mains. They want to be able to remove a killer's power with exactly no risk to themselves, AND be ######### rewarded for it. Unbelievable.

And I'm sorry that the game bores you. Can't say that I don't feel the same. Dealing with the same four survivor perks are why I only watch the game on stream now, and have since the Plague's release.

  • @Ratio said:

I need to air my frustration. I realize nothing will come of this, but it will at least let me feel a little better to vent this out.

The following does NOT take into account any add-ons; this is strictly speaking about Killers' base abilities.

All stealth Killers have some semblance of a "draw back" while they're in stealth.

    • The Wraith must ring his bell to de-cloak before he can attack. During the de-cloaking, his speed slows and a bell rings to give the Survivors a moment to react.
    • The Shape cannot lunge or reach any level of bloodlust while in Tier I of The Evil Within, to balance the lack of a red stain and virtually no terror radius.
    • The Pig has reduced speed while in stealth and squeals before her lunge attack, or an audio cue of her weapon unsheathing will happen if she goes out of stealth, giving Survivors a moment to react.

Then we get to Ghost Face:

    • While in stealth, Ghost Face has no red stain or heartbeat, maintains regular movement speed, and can instantly attack you while in stealth; there is no "cool down" or momentary "pause" before he attacks in stealth mode to give the Survivors' a moment to react.

I personally feel this fundamentally breaks core mechanics of the game. The terror radius and red stain are the two primary indicators to let a Survivor know when/where a Killer is, to react accordingly.

Stealth Killers negate these fundamental mechanics of the game by design--which is totally fine--as there is a "draw back" to coming out of their stealth abilities (see above). But Ghost Face breaks all these design philosophies to a fault.

There's a lot of balancing issues with this game, I know, and some are arguably more important to address before others, but man... Ghost Face, to me, is just beyond frustrating to play against in the grand scheme of things.

Now that I got that off my chest: I love DBD and the dev staff. I admire how far you've come with this game and grown as a team/studio. <3

You, like many others who whine about Ghostface, show a fundamental lack of understanding. The killers you mentioned CANNOT HAVE THEIR POWER REMOVED BY A SURVIVOR LOOKING AT THEM. Once Myers is tier 3 you can't do ######### about it besides loop or hide. Pig can't be "uncrouched" by survivors. She only stands back up if she ambush dashes or stands up on her own. The only thing that comes close is light burn for the wraith which requires a specific item. His drawback is literally survivors using their eyes, something you don't seem to like doing. Hell you can even pallet slam him and that removes his power as well. What more do you want? A neon sign that says "STEALTHY BOY RIGHT HERE" with an arrow pointing to him?

And I dont know how new you are, but GF used to have an audible static sound when he was near you. Guess what that did? It made sneaking as him useless. Not only did survivors have superior vision with their third person camera, not only did his robes make noise, not only did his crouching make noise, but he also sounded like a broken television set. That's a lotta sound queues my dude. And guess what? The devs only removed one of them. Use your ears instead of focusing intently on holding M1. Survivor gameplay isn't that engaging, pay attention to your surroundings.

Anyways. His only problem is that his reveal mechanic is broken and needs fixing for both sides. Everything else you mentioned is a textbook case of umad syndrome. Stop expecting to be able to beat every killer in the same way. Use. Your. Camera. Spot. The. Ghost. Learn. To. Loop.

  • Some of us dont think that horror trope "ethereal monsters" are interesting. Especially considering we already have two freaking ghosts. Some of us like the idea of an outlaw cowboy engineer reeling in survivors like big teabagging fish. It's almost like this game has attracted people with wildly different tastes and the devs are trying new things to appeal to different folks within the playerbase. Imagine that.

  • @Mert_MK said:

Let me do the same on Survivor Side once and hopefully you realize how stupid it is. Been seeing too many threads from Killers where they 4k while using a mori with the strongest add ons and think they are good or when they're proud of making others DC by facecamping, tunneling and slugging.

It's ridiculous how you can turn the match in your favor easily by bringing a certain item with add ons or offering (survivor/killer sided map or mori) so you might as well stop with these posts where you stomped a team or killer and had to rely on that stuff in order to win.

Yes i am doing the same here now but it's just an example. It was clearly over for the Killer from the beginning with all this stuff we brought in.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/884/N0KY4AOUG1JY.jpg

First of all, you bullied a rank 10 player as a rank one with toolboxes and a key. Good job, you should be proud of that hard won victory. Secondly, you claim in other comments that "all killers run NOED" in an attempt to perk shame them, when even in your example picture the killer didn't even have it. Great job.

Also. You didn't prove how "stupid" it is to brag about bullying someone with OP addons. All you did was prove how petty you are, and how busted SWF is. Both sides have access to busted things. But SWF + BNP turns this game into a bully simulator. And the funniest thing about all of this? A 3 toolbox team like yours is exactly the kind of team a killer should bring a mori for. If survivors are allowed to speed up generators then the killer should be allowed to speed up kills.

I don't play Huntress much admittedly, but I didn't know she had an add-on that allowed her to drag survivors towards her from halfway across the map.

Huntress may be a better killer, but it's not fair to say that there's nothing he can do that she can't do better.

She's better than him in nearly every way besides her silly humming radius. Yeah she can't drag people to her for a M1 hit, but her hatchets are an instant health state of damage. Yeah, she can't inflict deep wounds with her power but who the hell wants to inflict deep wounds? That status effect sucks on everyone besides Doctor, and that's only because snapping out of it overrides mending. Face it. Deathslinger sucks. I would love to be proven wrong but he sucks.

  • @Reborn2020 said:

    Potatoes? Thats irrelevant.

Yes it happens that killer may get 0 kills when played good but he would definitely pip in that case.

Just because you say something is "irrelevant" doesn't make it so. Killers are punished when they outclass the survivors. This is a fact. If you know you're better than your opponents you have to prolong the game just to make sure you safety pip.

  • I can't wait for the Feng Min archive.

"Min was a focused esports athlete. Her focused skills lead her to focused victories over her opponents, who lacked the proper focus. She sometimes focused on supporting her teammates which helped them focus on her focus more intensely, leading to a sharp uptick in team focus."

  • Because if distortion recharged survivors would have even less of a reason to stop holding M1. Why do you people want to streamline the already basic ass survivor gameplay by buffing something like distortion? Or is getting off of your generator for five ######### seconds really that terrible?

  • Like someone said before me, it would have to be proximity only and the killer should be able to hear it to. Not to mention a nice "toggle off all VOIP" if you don't feel like hearing a 14 year old tell you how they ######### your mom.

  • I'd say if we were going to make Distortion regenerate tokens then you get one every time you get hooked, and it starts with the current max it already has. That way you only get two bonus ones and can't be literally immune to aura reading for an entire trial.

Ok then it's definitly OP. High mobility killers will no longer need Surveillance + Ruin, just this perk...

Ugh, some of you are irritating. Surveillance and Ruin are passive and work based on survivors LEAVING their gen. Gear Head requires you to land two hits and gives you generator info (since everyone wants killers to jUsT pReSsUrE dA gEnS) in order to apply gen pressure. I'm sick of people calling anything OP when it helps a killer do their job. It is an active perk that rewards applying pressure to survivors in chases with information on the survivors you aren't currently dealing with.

Good god this community is sad. What would you want, a cooldown? For it to only be 10 seconds? How about if it only activated when a survivor was sacrificed? Would that make you happy? Or do you just prefer it when killers have to devote two freaking perk slots (one of which being a hex) just for gen information?

  • Counterpoint: Killer hasn't been hard since the dark ages of the game, least of all on console. Your video just proves that survivor skill decide the momentum of the game. ######### survivors = fast win for the killer. Good survivors = fair match. Optimal survivors = two gens popping before your first down. Survivors on console never have and never will impress me, since the vast majority of them rely on tricks that dont work on PC.

Also, I think people used old Ruin as a buffer to enable less sweating. Sweaty killers are the exact opposite of what survivors want to face. Unless that's changed?

It does somewhat, so thank you. My current theory is that it's largely a matter of attitude and possibly also background. My brother is super tilt-proof and he's also a game designer who enjoys games like Hearthstone (hugely RNG-based) and Dark Souls (notoriously unforgiving), so he's good at analysing things objectively and not getting too worked up over a single loss.

Being a Soulsborne vet myself, I'd love to see your brother's ideas. I think us being tilt proof (for the most part) stems from enjoying a fair challenge. I only get angry at this game when something is blatantly unfair or badly designed.
