THAT THE SBMM IS BASED ON KILLS AND ESCAPES IS VERY GOOD

As someone who lets the survivors go at the end of the round anyway, it's been very good to me too.

I believe you. Welcome to the low mmr club^^... and does anyone care if the player is high or low mmr? I don't and that's why I don't understand why some players get upset about it. Without an active rankinglist it doesn't help anyway.

  • @scoser said:

Basing the system on kills just encourages killers to facecamp/tunnel as if someone was holding a gun to their head IRL and will shoot them if they don't get at least a 2K.

It does, but only because it has been revealed what the wincondition is.

  • @Mister_xD said:

a couple of things i will have to disagree with you on here:

To develop another system (like the current one) would take much more time

we already had a system that managed to track skill significantly better than the current MMR system did, that being the Emblem system. All they had to do was to remove Ranks as the determining matchmaking factor and replace those with an MMR system. and during the lifetime of said system i dont remember ever seeing anyone "farming" the emblem scores - obviously you would want to get good scores in them, but that never lead to farming games (at most someone hookfarming someone else, which they did try to fight with a penalty to the emblem - and had said penalty applied to BT saves as well i do think it would no longer have been an issue)

also, yes developing / changing things takes time. but that shouldnt be an argument against improving a currently problematic thing, otherwise this game would literally never change. That'd be like saying "yeah old Moris were OP, but ya know, changing those would take time, so lets just keep them the way they are" - i'd much rather they took some more time and released well functioning and thought out things than them rushing half developed things out because they had to meet a deadline.

Did BHVR make the right decision to tell us what the win condition is

actually, i dont think they ever did - or intend to.

the way we figured that out was by dataminers discovering the information in the games code and then sharing it with the community - so when BHVR came around to tell us how it worked, that was only because we had already discovered it.

also, it is possible to determine your exact MMR rating with this method - though i dont know how Easy Anti Cheat or BHVR like you doing this sort of thing, so i wouldnt recommend it.

You didn't understand anything I wrote. Of course, the emblem system summarizes the capabilities better. But that's what it's for, and everyone knows that by now.... since it was released ?? The Emblem system only records things that happen during a match, and is not meant for anything else, and never has been. It will still record stats during a match, regardless of MMR, and that's fine. Do away with ranks and replace them with an MMR system ?? That's what BHVR did, but you don't like it! Of course, you don't remember players farming on purpose before - because there was no MMR system until then! But that would change abruptly from now on and you know it. In my opinion there is no other way to calculate MMR in Dead By Daylight, I've written that several times now, and even if there was, what do you think would happen if MMR worked according to the Emblem system for example..... believe me, there would only be FarmByDaylight. "Hey, I really want a higher MMR, so why should I still bother killing survivors or playing normally? Hooks count for a lot more, don't they...? Hey, why should I bother escape? Relief actions, repairing generators, rescuing survivors, healing or stunning the killer with a palette will get me much more and let me achieve a higher MMR, right? Anyway, it just doesn't work and how you do it, you do it wrong.

yeah it's not working on any setting now

Edit: nvm i unequiped the charm and equiped it again and it glows up as intended

yes, it just feels a bit stupid and unrealistic. Especially when you play on low settings. Currently, I also noticed that there is a texture error....also it takes until the graphics builds up in certain situations. With characters and clothing you can see that very well.

Firstly you call hardly call anything you said a fact. It's opinion at best.

Secondly, they did spend two years to develop this system. In no way should this garbage pile have taken two years to develop.

Third, watch any competent streamer. Otz struggles far more than he used to. He has plenty of low kill games. Obviously I can't provide stats as they don't exist. Even if they did Bhvr wouldn't share anything that conflicts with what they want.

In short, if you're happy with the system, great. I'm glad you enjoy it. The vast majority, at least on the forums haven't.

No, these are facts and have nothing to do with opinion. Of course I like the system and I accept that there are players who do not like it, but it does not mean that it is the majority. You can't calculate a MMR in a game like DBD any other way.... it doesn't work.... and even if it did... there would only be farm rounds and that would be bad for the game because everyone wants high. Also, there's no point in coming to the forums over and over again and writing how stupid SBMM is because it won't change anything anyway. That's one of the reasons why I wrote, BHVR chose the right way here in my opinion. They just shouldn't have revealed what the wincondition is. I think then we wouldn't have all these discussions.

  • @Mandy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2616641#Comment_2616641

    That's not correct.

Prior to SBMM being implemented, matches were based solely around the ranks that was shown in the end screen - it was set that you could be matched 6 or 8 ranks higher or lower than you as well. MMR was active in the background for some time but this was purely to collect data and was not used for matchmaking except for the short tests that were run, which were always advertised.

What you say is right but unfortunately still not enough players understand that. Despite all the announcements

For me it is clear: For many players the word SBMM is a thorn in the eye because the word skill is hidden and because in their eyes skill has nothing to do with escapes and kills. But you can not calculate the MMR in DBD differently.... as I already wrote. That would only lead to farm rounds and would be very bad for the game.

Hello everyone, Huge Bush here messaging you all from my glorious hospital bed that just refuses to be comfortable for me and let me have one nights good rest. A couple of weeks ago, I can down with what I though was just some cold which morphed a week later to what I can only describe as “almost death”.

It wasn’t pretty. I couldn’t make it out of bed for more than 60 seconds. Going potty was like trying to take the One Ring to the fires of Mordor, only with Nemisis chasing me and Bubba waiting at the mouth of the volcano. It was terrible.

Im finally out of the darkness, but not out of the clear. Turns out I have/had Covid-19 that ravaged my lungs and has given me pneumonia. In order to not suffocate in my sleep, I have to keep oxygen tubing snaking through my nose and make sure these kind medical professionals keep checking on me while I sleep(if this stupid bed would let me, argh!).

Anyways, I know I’m not a big presence on the forums, I was just bored and wondered if some of you can give me the rundown on what went on in the world of my favorite game that I love to hate/hate to love. Was the event just another meh moment? Were the new cosmetics nice? Did Claudette get anything new? Are boom totems as broken as everyone was crying they were going to be? Which killer is on the current survivor nerf target?

Someone post some pics of Dbd memes (I like the one with Steve and bubba in the basement). Cat and cow pics are acceptable too.

    Dear Mr Huge_Bush

You don't know me.... But I was very overwhelmed by your post. We have all been through a very difficult time and I am sure there will be many more difficult times to come. I have been playing Dead by Daylight since 2016 and have seen and experienced many things. Just like you, I still love this game like the first day. I wish you all the best for your future and may you get well again.

What part is incorrect? They wasted two years, that's a fact. It fails to account for actual skill. That's a fact. So where's the lie?

Firstly, did you call my statement a theory which is not true. Because the facts speak for themselves. Second: Your statement: BHVR took 2 years for a system that could be ready in 2 minutes and third: That many good survivors have a low escaperate or good killers have a low kill rate I think is unlikely and simply untrue. Do you have statistics that prove otherwise ? I don't think so.

    Hey all!

in case you've missed it, i've made a Poll the other day about whether the community likes or dislikes the MMR system in order to see how the view of the community has changed (or not changed) between the latest MMR test run (with MMR being a rather controversial topic) and now after its full release.

as of right now, it is quite clear that there is a rather big dislike for the MMR system (of course my poll cant speak for the whole community, but thats the trend i have been noticing with, at this point in time, 70% of people saying they dislike it)

however, this post isnt for those people. This is for the 25% that did say they liked it, because i have a genuine question to you.

So if you dislike the MMR system, you do not need to bother with replying. This isnt meant to be a discussion to determine whether someone is right or wrong, whether the MMR system is good or not - we already have plenty of those. This is just me asking a question, hoping to get some more elaboration on the topic.

enough of that, lets get on with the question:

the most common response i saw from people who said they think "MMR is a good addition to DbD" was, that, while they do not think it is a perfect system yet, they do view it as a better system than the old Emblem system was.

Now my question to you is:

    what makes you say that?

because personally i just can not understand this argument.

in my opinion, the MMR system is actually quite inferior to the old Emblem system - my argument for that being the following:

MMR not only fails at determining an individuals actual skill level, it actually never even tries to. all MMR is looking at to determine who wins and who loses MMR points is the final result of the game; in other words, all it cares about is whether someone escaped or not.

This means that it does not matter how you played in game, if you make it out it is counted as a win, while if you died at any point in time it is counted as a loss - the most glaring issue with this philosophy is, that the final outcome of the match absolutely doesnt stand in any correlation to how good you actually are at this game. Lets just say you were the absolute MVP during your last trial - you did 2 to 3 gens on your own, went for a couple of really clutch saves and kept the Killer busy in a chase until the last few gens got done too, but then got downed right at the end with the Killer making sure you die on hook. Does this make you a bad player? Does this mean you played worse than the 3 people that made it out or even the Killer in that matter? I dont think so - but MMR does.

And this is where i believe the old Emblem system to be way more advanced that the current MMR system is, because in that system the ultimate outcome of the match was only one of four overall factors that went into determining your score, instead of being the sole one. In the Emblem system the game at least tried (im not saying it was particularly good at it, but at least it actually tried) to judge you based on your actions ingame, meaning that, at least in my eyes, the Emblem system did a significantly better job at actually determining someones skill level in direct comparison to MMR.

the same applies to Killer btw - the Emblem system actively rewarded you for playing well and giving Survivors a multitude of second chances, to ensure that you couldnt just hook someone, camp them to death and then get a NOED strike on someone else and repeat the same - if you did that then you would be severely punished by the system due to you not engaging in many chases (even losing points in this category due to a camping penalty), not defending your gens, not injuring many people and not achieving many hooks either. MMR on the other hand only looks at the overall outcome of the match, meaning if you just do that exact same thing, MMR is actually going to reward you for it, due to you achieving 2 kills over someone who played fair and, lets say, only got 1 kill but had the others on deathhook.

In other words, the Emblem system actually tried to get Killers to play in a way that Survivors would enjoy, instead of taking the safest and most boring way possible - while MMR does nothing of the sort and actually encourages this behaviour by Killers.

but maybe i'm just missing something here, something that gives the MMR system a clear edge over the Emblem system, something that the MMR system can achieve which was entirely impossible for the Emblem system to ever get right, which is why i made this post to ask you all to elaborate on your previous statement a bit more, so i can understand where you are comming from with it.

    thank you for replying!

In principle, it is quite simple. The emblem/pip system has nothing to do with the MMR and it didn't before, because there was no MMR before. It was only matched according to ranks which was bad. Now it is done according to MMR which makes a lot of things better and I would like to mention again that you should please stop mentioning ranks again and again (they are dead) or to include the emblem system now. They are all separate things. MVP or not.....I already wrote it in one of my posts: imagine now that the developers would calculate the MMR differently ( or as you described it ). Then there would be only farm rounds to achieve a higher MMR or ? and that would definitely be a pure disaster for Dead by Daylight. For me BHVR has definitely made the right decision here

There's a couple of problems with your theory. Firstly the already spent two years to come up with a system that should have taken two minutes. Secondly, it doesn't actually work. Plenty of great survivors have low escape rates. Plenty of great killers will have low kill rates.

What you claim is simply not true and has nothing to do with theory. These are facts and facts do not lie.

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

If the MMR system was going to be based solely off kills and escapes and nothing else, then they should have just kept the old system.

I’m not defending the old system at all btw - it was bad. But not as bad as what we have now.

Why should the current system be worse than the old one ? The old one was not good, true. But. with the current one the matches are more balanced

What you don't seem to understand is that the system is thus assigning negative consequence to people who succeed - because having to sweat, in either role, is not particularly enjoyable for a vast crowd - and in the current climate of DBD, that's putting a lot of us who succeed against hackers on a daily basis.

What does this have to do with hackers and why should people sweat ? If they want to stress themselves, let them do it. I don't do that because I don't care about the MMR. It is not important how high you are in the MMR. You can't see the hidden number anyway.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2614089#Comment_2614089

Yes I know that. I said the old system was better. You know the system where it judged what you did in the trial and not just the outcome.

You know in the trial where all you skill is shown. Saying kills and escapes is a good system is silly. Hooks are vastly more important and show how the game went and chases and gen efficiency are most skillful for survivors.

I ask you: do you want the hooks to be much more important and show how the game went, and do you want the chases and gene efficiency to be the most skillful for survivors ? ..... well then good luck with "Farm by Daylight"

(Hey, I farm hookz or make gens, because I want to achieve high MMR) THAT AND ONLY THAT, IS TOTAL STUPIDITY MY FRIEND. I hope you understood my post now.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

What a lot of people are getting wrong is that mmr isn't an indication of your skill but what the skill of your opponent should be.

A killer who can get 3-4 kills by facecamping each hook should start facing better survivors

exactly !!! but most people don't understand that. They simply relate everything to the word skill

  • @Yamaoka said:

Neither kills nor escapes is a good measure of skill.

You can be a good killer and get 0 kills because you played fair with no camp, tunnel and slug and no slowdown perks.

You can be a trash killer and get 4 kills because you camped, tunneled and slugged at 5 gens with every slowdown perk in the game.

I think you don't get along with the name SBMM because the word skill is hidden in it and you understand something else by it. Calling a killer scum just because he defends himself with the means available in the game is questionable. In a game like DBD, a different calculation would be possible, but it would only lead to problems. That's why I think it's fine the way it is now. The only thing I notice is that some of the players are frustrated because it is called SBMM and has no other name. ( it's about escapes and kills but S stands for skill and for some players kills and escapes have nothing to do with skill).

  • @EntitySpawn said:

Escapes and kills mean nothing. Old ranking was better, just had to move us further back each reset.

Going from rank 4 to 5 for is silly, no wonder everyone got red ranks lol

I like to write it again 1. ranks are dead ( there are only grades ) 2. emblem/pip/grade system are separate from the SBMM to consider because these have nothing to do with the MMR. Some players still don't seem to have fully understood this.

  • @EvilJoshy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/292420/that-the-sbmm-is-based-on-kills-and-escapes-is-very-good

    So by your logic.

I repair 2 gens, rescue and heal 3 survivors, got 3 pallet stuns, lost the killer twice, i got downed by noed and died. That should mean i shouldnt rank up.

Blendette hides all game, never touch's a gen, never gets chased, never rescues a fellow survivor, got out the exit gate someone else opened. They deserve to rank up.

Im having trouble seeing the logic here.

This has nothing to do with logic. These are facts and facts are important. You don't seem to be able to deal with them, but that's not my problem, it's yours. Would you rather calculate the game on an emblem basis with MMR ?.......

For God's sake. I'm glad it's not, because that would be a disaster for DBD and there would only be farm rounds. That would be boring and extremely detract from the game experience.

  • @Mileena_Kahn said:

With all the tunneling and camping that’s been going on you just simply can’t play solo. I’ve been SWFing and my team hardly ever dies. It’s the only thing you can do if you want to have enjoyable survivor matches.

carried by swf ? no sry, the best experience you can have is SoloQ. It´s a challenge too, cause swf feels like a cheatmode. But that´s only my opinion about that.

  • Now imagine if BHVR had made MMR dependent on other factors. Then there would be only farm rounds which would be a disaster for DBD. It's very difficult to cleanse all 5 totems as a Solo player.

I'm running an experiment right now. I'm taking Small Game and seeing how many totems I can get and recording them at the end of the match.

I'll run through different maps and see about how long on average it takes to find all 5 as well.

Of course it's not easy and that's how it should be. Nobody forces you as a solo player to always do all 5 totems. There are 3 other survivors.... But I can promise you one thing: You will never manage to clear 5 totems in every game. Do you know why? Because every round in Dead by Daylight is different. No round is ever the same no matter how many years you play and that's a good thing! I wish you good luck with your experiment..... but it won't do you any good.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2600512#Comment_2600512

    It isn't balanced.

I don't understand how you could think NOED is balanced. Maybe against SWF, but not Solo's

Man, it's a simple totemperk. Whether SWF or solo doesn't matter at all. There are now enough perks and items to find totems. You can't balance a perk any better. Just make totems and that's it ( is that so hard ?....if you now say yes, then you can no longer be helped ) Noed used to be much worse when I started DBD 2016. Trust me ....

  • @Pulsar said:

After many years, I'm finally on-board with a change to NOED. I don't think it's a healthy perk for the game.

I've been seeing more and more Killers use Corrupt, Ruin, Undying and NOED (or some variation of that) and they are not bad Killers. They are good players and are getting 6-7 hooks and a Kill by the time the gens are done. NOED in the hands of a semi-decent Killer is more than the last ditch effort perk it was supposed to be, it's a guaranteed value 2K minimum perk. Before people get too upset, I don't want it nerfed. It can stay at the same power level, it's just how it is now is not good for the game.

Most Survivor players (especially Solo Q) do not have the time to look and scour the maps for totems. Maps like The Game, Hawkins or Midwich are especially good for hiding totems and it only take one singular dull totem to activate NOED.

Again, I don't necessarily want it to be nerfed and I do not think it is overpowered, but I do want it to be changed as I believe it is unhealthy. Perhaps to a reverse Corrupt Intervention, "After 3 gens have been completed, the Entity blocks 3 of the 5 remaining gens in the Trial for 60 seconds." I dunno, just an idea I had, didn't put much thought into it.

    What are your thoughts?

No, noed is good like that. Stop finally screaming for changes for such a balanced totemperk like noed. (just because ppl are too lazy). Just make totems. Survivors have enough perks and the maps to track by now. Noed as well as DS are correctly balanced. There is no reason at all to do something about it.

There is a lot of grind especially for new players and it is something we are looking into.

This is really good news Mady but I have a question. What about the players who have been with us for a while? After all, we've put millions of blood points into all those characters to prestige them. I don't want that to be in vain. Can or may you say something about this ?

I mean...I couldn't care less if I found out that my rating was reset to 0 today. I couldn't give a rat's fart about my rank or whether or not the game gives me a gold star cuz it thinks i have skillz. In fact it could be fun for a change to have a chance to spook survivors, go on several chases, not tunnel anyone, not be ruthless and bring 67 gen slowdown perks just to try and get a game that lasts more than 3 minutes.

Thing is, I go into a match trying to 3k or 4k. If I 2k it means I got a tie. If I 1k or 0k it means I lost. It's a Team vs Team game (team killer 1 person, team survivor 4 people). Which means that when I hop into a match I try to win to the best of my ability, and I preferably don't want that match to end in 3 minutes whether I win or I lose.

The problem is that this game is imbalanced as all hell, we all have known this forever. It's always been this way and people complaining about it are not saying anything new. Before SBMM, people who were decent at killer only went against survivors who really knew how to abuse how much bullshit this game has occasionally. With SBMM, if you're decent, you're gonna go against survivors who rarely actually outplay you, but use all of the game's poorly designed bullshit to their advantage, every . single . game. Or at least 50% of your games. Whether you win or lose, it's a draining experience. And I'm sure for survivors, it's killers tunneling and camping to try and scrape a 2k more frequently than ever.

That's not even talking about the increased amount of hackers at high MMR and the 10 minute queues for killer, where you literally spend more time staring at the lobby than playing the game.

It's not that people care too much or get stressed about being the very best, like no one ever was (although, those people do exist), it's that this SBMM has made the quality of the games horrendous for anyone at a decent level and mildly cares about trying to win. Unless you're one of those people who goes into a match not really wanting to even try to win, where you get one chase, and you get your fill of fun.

To be honest, I completely misjudged SBMM at the very beginning. I thought the way you perform would play a role. How many gens you made, how long you were in a chase, whether you stunned the killer with a pallet and so on. But I don't think it would have been worth it to develop such a complex system, because then everyone would just farm to get a high MMR. I think the devs have chosen the right way here. But what bothers me the most is that we always have problems with recurring bugs after a major update. That means: You know there is an update coming and then countless bugs creep in again and that is quite annoying. I wish the devs would release only 3 chapters a year, but bring more bugfixes and midchapter patches like the last one. It is always frustrating to wait weeks until something is fixed. But I don't want to deviate too much now. If you ask me, the way the devs have taken, was already ok with the SBMM. Better that way than too complex. Because a friend of farm rounds I am not.

Unstompable boon totem locations on maps that are still in circulation such as lerys.

Hackers running no hit detection or lag switching mods.

Some addons for killers not working correctly (or yay the pig nerf) .

All the reasons playing killer are stressful🤣( the usual gen rushing, map sizes, bad rng with looping tiles (especially the farm).

Long mmr lobbies (which hopefully are better right now with so many mikaelas playing).

Just wanted to convey thanks for a thankless role.

Any other positive messages people want to add?

Edit: please play both sides of dbd...you make yourself a better player and can get some perspective from both viewpoints.

Im a Killermain since 2016 and i play 70 - 30% Killer, Survivor atm. Thanks for the little love <3

For honor brought out a cool new interesting game mode just to try out new stuff and also bring abit of dbd into their game. Ubistoft did a outstanding job and truly showed that they put some effort into it. However BHVR... lets say it straight up, they didnt gave a F about that. Just squishing 1 charm out and thats it. I am very dissapointed, this opportunity was the best they ever had to try out also a new halloween only game mode just try mess around and try out new stuff.

Something like a 1v1 game mode with a linear map where the killer chases a survivor and the survivor tries to simply survivor and run as long as possible to earn a better score with the time would be very cool.

Again its not there to be a new game mode for good, just something small to give us abit of new content even though if its limited.

Very sad that BHVR again made a reskin of the old events.

Your opinion in all honor but I find it very sad that there are people like you who write such nonsense as this post here. First of all, we got a lot of blood points the last days. Second, we have the new Halloween Challenges with the Midnightgrove Rift. Third, on top of that, the outfits and associated charms.... for free ... 50-60% cheaper prices on the main game and DLC's.... up to 75% cheaper prices on selected outfits... free weekends to play.... everything for free and that is not mentioned ? ( it is pretended that the devs do nothing ? ) and still complain ?.... just because there is no new game mode ? and if it's not the game mode then you write: just something small to give us some new content even if it's limited." lol this is a cheek! Now seriously what do you think all those things are ? ( Halloween Rift for example ) .... as I said your opinion I respect but I in your place would be ashamed of such a post. I'm sorry, but I can not understand this

Happened to me on Ultra at some point, but it got fixed for me

glad to hear. As I said, everything is fine on Ultra and High. Only if I set the graphics settings to medium or low happens with the charms

And as the killer you can then just hit the survivor and hook the one you're carrying. You've also got 2 survivors (minimum) not working on Gens, and another injured survivor.

thats the best way you can do, exacly

because last uptade finally made killers into clowns for fun

momend what? Why should the developers apologize? Every game has to fight with problems and bugs. Besides, the last few days we have been given a lot of bloodpoints. That is not mentioned ? Sry but I really can not understand your contribution

I find kicking them highly satisfying. Going to miss them when they're gone. They need to be included every year now 🎃

yes, they are awesome. Like it :)

The team is currently investigating an issue which is causing extraordinarily long / infinite loading screens. Since this bug happens sporadically, we would greatly appreciate any info that you could provide that may aid us in our investigation. We’re on the lookout for any trends that may contribute to this bug happening.

If you have had an infinite or exceptionally long loading screen, we would appreciate if you could let us know the following:

    • When the issue occurred (loading into a lobby, loading into a match, etc.)
    • How the loading was initiated (e.g. accepting an invite, matchmaking, etc.)

If necessary, a member of the development team may reach out privately to request a log.

EDITING TO ADD - Can you advise if you are playing with Cross Platform on or off. Thank you.

    Thank you for your assistance!

    Platform: Steam PC

    Crossplay: On

This happened to me when I was trying to join a match

Allways Solo Q, with Killer and Survivor. This time it happend when i was playing killer. 50% PC players, 50% other Platform players

I saw this too, I’m so confused

Well, all I know is that Norman is also present in other games. That would really be a great thing

    😥😥😥😥😥

don't be sad, there is certainly a 4% chance of luck that this will be fixed :p

  • @Rizzo said:

Definitely a nice addition, I hope to see more of these in the future.

In any case Rizzo90 :) Now seriously, the part is really good and makes you want more. Also the part with the Purple Glyph. Really good and great variety. *thumbs up*

Oh, I've got plenty of these memories from ages past. You've listed a lot of actual in-game mechanics from back then, so here's some memorable moments from me instead.

"Get good, idiot. Learn to drop the chase when a survivor heads to an infinite." - Countless survivors justifying infinites in 2016.

    Followed by...

    "Get good." - Mcote

"It takes SO much skill to do anything even resembling an infinite." - Mcote

I was so passionate about the game back then, and as a killer main, the comparison I noticed between these two sets of quotes really made me upset. I still remember trying to get involved in killer strikes in DBD's steam discussion forum way back when, which mods repeatedly deleted.

    ---

Also, never forget this famous video from back then:

    https://youtu.be/hsie4pHH99E?t=488

Just the tip of the iceberg killers had to endure back then too.

    ---

Literally so much has happened over the years that I've just accepted that the game will always be terribly survivor-biased, and refuse to treat it as a competitive or serious game. Just have fun, do whatever you want, nothing else matters. That's been the only truth about DBD for all these years.

Ask the hackers, I doubt anyone is proving them wrong on that.

    ---

    Anywho, I'm rambling. Good times!

    good old times. I remember

  • @jlgracia said:

And do you blame them tho...? Everyone is camping and tunneling a lot lately and as killer there are only sweaty survivors, I just went against toxic survs and they all escaped saying gg ezzzzzz and after some games of tunneling and toxicity, I turned off my pc because I have better things to do, I’m not going to be 24/7 on my pc playing dbd just as those toxic survivors lul

what does resent here ? and what is that at all for an argument ? .... camping, tunneling and so on is no final excuse for it. Toxic or not.....

    sry

  • @dallasmedicbag said:

Seriously, this is getting out of hand. I down a survivor in less than a minute and they DC immediately. Anyone knows when the DC penalty is gonna be back? also blight > nurse/spirit :)

That's the downside to the whole thing. Many survivors take advantage of this immediately. I've had a few matches today and in every DC's. Even those where no Boon totems were active. If a Survivor what does not fit then immediately the plug is pulled.... very very sad but, unfortunately, we have to go through.....even if it's stupid :(

But yes you are right. It is bad for the gaming experience

  • @Yords said:

Laceration no longer works automatically, the survivor has to mend it away.

    - Each knife makes the survivor have to recover for at least 4 seconds per laceration bar (so 20 seconds max) to stat regressing the bar. Similar to mending.

If a Trickster player knows they won't get much out of a chase, they could hit the survivor with a few knives and leave while getting just a little bit of slowdown. Or they could shoot a few knives at a survivor far off in the distance.

    - If a survivor performs any action that is not mending (except hooking) when laceration is in effect, make the laceration meter increase by half a bar every second. *Cannot down survivors with this

It's not very much, but it gives him something other than only having power in a chase.

Also allow him to permanently hold main event plz.

Giving him the ability to hold Mainevent permanently I think is a good idea. The killer should be allowed to decide for himself when he should use it.
