  • What does simply clean mean ? It will not be quite that simple. I'm curious anyway what the survivors will do....many will certainly go for the throat. One will want to destroy totems, the other bless. I think that will be fun :)

I would like to see perks like Plaything and NOED replace Boon totems when no dull totems exists.

Maybe even blessed Hex totems return to Hex after being snuffed out.

Would be fun and a kind of Russian roulette that could be really exciting but I think that would be too much of a good thing. Imagine you could renew noed again and again that would be crazy^^

I'm tired of losing 2 generators in the time it takes me to get 1 hook. sometimes i think i managed to take the survivor down fast enough and before i can get him to the hook 2 generators are done.

SBMM killed 90% of the killers for me. If you don't play Nurse, Spirit or Blight you will probably have to tunnel and camp to get the second kill after the gates are 99%.

Most of my games i get 4-5 hooks by the time the survivors finish the 5 generators. So I end up needing to tunnel and camp to get at least 1 or 2 kills. This makes the game extremely stressful.

This wouldn't be a problem if that happened sometimes. After all, you win some and lose some. But every game is like that. meanwhile playing survivor has never been better. At least in my games the team can loop the killer and make generators efficiently.

No No and again no !

    1. count the first 9 minutes. Regardless of how many gens are on now or not. When will people finally realize this ?

    2. why are you so focused on kills ? A kill does not mean to have a win....even Nurse, Blight or Wraith....some killers are better some less. It always depends on the map and the survivors. To claim you have to tunnel or camp to get a kill, I think is questionable.

  • @Kill_Yr_Idol83 said:

As killer, SBMM is an absolute joke. I know I've made similar posts about this but no one should have to run Corrupt, Ruin and/or Pop every single match just to have some sort of fun or stand any chance against this nonstop sweatfest the game has become, whether you're good at the game or not. I'm sure many could agree with that. Hell, even if you're slightly good as killer now, every match is consistently sweaty because of SBMM. Casual play is as nonexistent as the working class for christ sakes. It's ridiculous. Been playing this game for over 4 years, have dumped a stupid amount of money into it and am about to call it quits once and for all because SBMM has killed the fun completely. I wish it wasn't the case. I've stuck around this long because I love this game to pieces but it is what it is. SBMM was the nail in the coffin.

P.S. Outside of the dismal SBMM, I played one match tonight as killer (after I said I wasn't going to play) and while I was using Discordance, 2 survivors each were on gens across the map. By the time I got there, both gens were done. Like #########?! They weren't even using toolboxes and only one due had Prove Thyself. It's bullsh-t like that where you know the game is in an imbalanced, terrible shape.

You know what's an absolute joke ? Posts like this.... and again you made a post on this topic. Why no one should use Corrupt, Pop or Ruin in a match just to have some fun ? People like you make the stress for themselves. Instead of just chilling out and playing some meme builds you're just stressing yourself out. So stop always blaming everything on the SBMM. How about the following attitude: Let the survivors rush gens or whatever. Concentrate on other things, the SBMM will settle down. By the way: To call the game unbalanced only because 2x2 survivors sit on 2 different gens I think is exaggerated. In situations like this you just have to make a final decision. My tip: Stop erasing, take a little time out and play a few rounds loosely afterwards.

People play this game to win, if camping/tunneling gets you a win then of course you would camp/tunnel.

camping, tunnelling, slugging, bodyblocking, flashlight grief, teabagging and so on are all part of the game and killing a survivor or just escaping does not automatically mean that you got a win. Unfortunately, many see it differently, which is why I think this will never change.

4 MAN SWF Streamers with the best perks vs Killers with their Best Add Ons

congratulations, but it doesn't mean it's high MMR...i'd love to know how people always come up with that ? Just because someone has a high grade, great perks or add ons... or just because someone has god knows how many game hours, doesn't mean he/she is high mmr. The only ones who know what high and low mmr is, is BHVR

I've had the game for 4 years. I've only run into maybe 2 people who were clearly hacking. A lot of suspicious stuff but no evidence to file a report. Being a frequent watcher of these forums it does feel like the amount of cheater/hacker threads skyrocketed when the resident evil chapter released. That's just my opinion.

I can also confirm that since the SBMM and also the introduction of the Resident Evil Chapter the whole thing has increased.

  • The best experience you can have is 50% - 50% but that´s only my opinion

There's a few youtube videos out there, my best advice would be to learn the tiles and how to run them correctly - how to correctly run the slightly different jungle gyms for example, correct way to run the Shack etc.

Also, play some killer - you genuinely learn the game so much better by playing both sides.

That's exactly how I see it. The way to play correctly many forget

As someone using an unfair advantage to gain the upper hand, what gives you the right to complain about the way I play? Last night I went against several stretched res TTV's having the audacity to mass report me for "unsportsmanlike behavior" while blatantly cheating. I'm really curious what the mindset is and if people who do this are self-aware.

There are enough people who can not accept defeat and BHVR has already indicated several times that lying (especially regarding reports) will be punished. I am looking forward to a new reporting system where just such people will be held accountable.

  • Most people actually believe that the Spirit will no longer be playable..... Instead, others are muzzled with any arguments until they say nothing more. For those who claim the Spirit would be dead after the patch, they are wrong and will be very surprised. I am then curious what comes next about what is complained about

  • @Mattie_MayhemOG said:

BHVR is not transparent about MMR because the whole point is for inexperienced survivors not to face capable killers and never the other way around. Time and time again we are told that red ranks only show time spent in the game but that is a lie too as one has to do well to pip and move up. By nature those who spend alot of time in the game are either good at it or in a team that can communicate the whole time, or most likely both. 2 kill balance is unfun for everyone when 1 of those kills is a camp on the first hooked and the other a tunnel on whoever is being chased when all the generators are done.

A good survivor and an good killer is not a fair match when its 4 on 1. This is why the MMR system is not working for killers.

This is what it should be if they actually wanted balance

    Poor survivors = Ok killer

    Ok survivors = Good killer

    Good survivors = Great killer

That is not true. My wife plays on the Gold Grade with the Survivor and does not play strong. The killers that come there are also Iridescent or Gold grade and don't play strong either. My daughter and I play differently. So in how far is the MMR a lie?. It is simply not true..... and stop with: The MMR does not work for killers. On the contrary, it works very good

  • I find the map great and hope that BHVR will eventually bring several layouts.

If it's licensed again, i think Chucky has a good chance to be the next killer, because new Chucky series coming out on 12 October, it is a pretty good timing.

Also Cote said that Chucky could absolutely beat you up and carry you soo that also helps.

I really hope we will get such iconic character in this game, where all horror movie icons are, he honestly deserves the spot.

Plus they could add his phrases like they did with Pinhead, which would be awesome aswell. He also has a real power to work with, and is very unique.

Chucky ? No unrealistic.... have you ever seen a doll throw a survivor on a hook ? Not me. Furthermore:

A copy of Charlotte and Victor ? we already have :(

My friends and I just went back and reviewed people we reported. Most videos were never viewed, and super obvious cheaters reported back in April are still playing. It's stuff like this that makes you not want to play the game and especially makes you not want to waste your time reporting people.

Oh that is not pleasant to hear.... every cheater I reported has been banned so far. But yes I hope the report system is revised because it is always such a work with video evidence and so on there to write a ticket and pretty annoying

From one Trickster main to another, I think this is a pretty solid build!

I didn't really think about the movement speed boost Devour gives you that makes him a 115% killer (like he should be). But I think it's a really clever idea :)

I used to be a big fan of caged heart shoes but I find myself using it less and less. I still think it's a solid add on though!

That's right the more you play with the shoes the more you realize that you need them less and less^^

  • hi,

im a trickster main since release and I can only recommend you the guide from "Tricksters Wife". Wich you can find here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/270849/a-trickster-guide-by-a-trickster-one-trick#latest This Guide is not perfect BUT still very very good and ( important ) allways up to date. I am personally not a friend of Devour Hope :( I would swap it with NOED because, it has a better Synergy with No way Out and puts the Survivor under additional stress. Iron Maidon you can take for sure, but you should try to decide for a certain style. Either you play with Discordance, which gives you super Information and more than genstopper, or you take BBQ (also nice synergy with No way out) and let them rush if they want. Ruin for the early game I think is solid, but if it gets destroyed quickly, you still have Noed. Also Noed gives you a 4% Speedboost ( don't forget ). Basically you force the survivors to do all the totems and always know when 2 or more people are at a gen, which reduces the genrush a little bit. But this is only my personal opinion. With the introduction of the BoonTotems changes anyway a lot.

For Indoor Maps i prefer: Discordance, Tinkerer, Ruin, Undying

and for Outdoor Maps at the momend with Corrupt Intervention, Deadlock, PGTW, Bamboozle (depends on your playstyle)

Add Ons that I prefer are: Trick Blades in combination with CTUS ( HELL YEAH ! my favorite ) or DTC in combination with M Murder or Bloody Boa with CHS. You can also take Noed out, but then I would recommend Fizz Spin Soda plus Iridescent Photocard as add ons. As said everything can and nothing must so only a recommendation. Greetings

No joke, when I load up the game and look at the Killer Menu, I get spine chills and my hands start shaking from the stress and dread of playing another match that may go sour and frustrating and getting BM'ed by a cocky, well-organized and unempathetic Survivor team.

The amount of time it takes for me to mentally prepare myself for a round as Killer is ridiculous.

How do you screw up the atmosphere so badly, that the prospect of playing as the deadly slasher is literally more scary than playing as the meek and hapless victims?

I think you're spoiling the atmosphere for yourself. So now seriously, if it's already so far, then I would stop playing or take a break. Because that definitely goes too far! Otherwise I can recommend just play a meme build or so, but please relax....it's about nothing ? what should happen ? what are you afraid ? This is a computer game and should be fun, nothing else, so do not take it so seriously

Because hackers can is not a justification one should make in an online game.

Hackers can jump into a survivor lobby as a killer. I guess I should be able to do that too. A hacker can unlock every perk on ever character. Why am I stuck grinding hours for bloodpoints? Shouldn't all this stuff be unlocked for me? Why do I have to buy cosmetics with real money? It should just be available for me to use.

    That's true!

but people justify Legacy with the fact that everything was harder in the past and you had to invest a lot of time? What about those who had to spend a lot of time in events ?, what about those who were on the road for days on events ? with those who watched streams for hours ? With those who played Legacy because of a bug and lost ?

    Sry but this is ridiculous...

  • @Mr_K said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2537643#Comment_2537643

The catch 22 here is nobody would care about legacy if it had no meaning behind it. It was a promise made by the Devs to to earily player base, a one time opportunity. They were up front about it exclusivity and how to obtain it. Not everyone playing at the time got it. Some grinded for days getting all characters to P3 before the deadline. If you want to dismiss that as sitting on your ass doing nothing then so be it.

It is not the same as event cosmetics. The never stated those were exclusive. The Devs could of recycled those every year if they wanted.

If we want to talk about poor mentalities. Its being envious of what others have.

Excuse me, but why should Legacy have any meaning now ? There are enough hackers running around with this stuff. It's not something special anymore. And as for the event cosmetics: Of course it's the same, because you had to invest time to grind back then, too. I have often written that the time factor plays an important role. Whether you sit on your butt and grind, go to events or play events ingame...it's the same.... and as for the devs: of course you could have relaunched the event items every year, but instead the devs just released them to everyone. For doing nothing, you know what I mean ? And that's exactly how it is with Legacy too.... And while we're at it. This has quite little to do with envy. This is about equality and nothing else.

  • @PapiKingley said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/284893/why-is-legacy-not-finally-given-free-for-all-bhvr

The real question is why do you even still care about legacy in 2021 when you have all these unique cosmetics , why care about a default reskin with some yellow on it?

simply because BHVR started with the release of all event items, which I have also worked hard and I initially called it unfair. I'm sorry but this 1x thing or, people who have played it at the beginning argument no longer pulls with me. I have also torn me the butt and what happened ? Also, you have to see the benefits of it. No more tickets because of Legacy Cheater....and the few who would possibly complain about it... oh god BHVR would just get so much more positive feedback. Everyone would be equal, whether it's us veterans or newbies or consoleplayers but unfortunately that's not seen.

  • @Mandy said:

This comes up regularly and we have stated, that no there are no plans to make Legacy available to all players, it was given out one time for those that went through the very early days of the game. It is not something that will be given out again.

I know that and the majority of the community Mandy also knows that by now. Where is the difference between the Legacy Items and Eventitems or even Charms like the now with the Dwightcrow ? I get very annoyed with this because I too have spent hours watching streams to get a bit of luck ( now it just gets given out). I spent hours in events playing everything free....( items were also given out ) I was on pax.... (Items were also given out). Just help me please just understand this too whole.... is it just because this was all a 1x thing ? or do you not have the legacy code anymore ? ( might explain why BHVR didn't manage to find out who acquired Legacy back then and lost it due to the bug ). All I want is to understand it nothing more.

  • @Brokenbones said:

A little while ago there was a bug that made the killer's POV chase music match that of the survivor when it came to killers with their own chase/theme music. This was ofc most noticeable on Demogorgon and Oni.

I think the developers left it in as they prefered it this way and made all other subsequent chase musics the same on both sides from that point onward. Either that, or it was an intentional change and not a bug that was left in

I think it's a shame because it was very good and beautifully dramatic. Thanks for the answer

You could go for early saves and chests. The people glued to gens and let people get near struggle before saving are obviously not playing the game for anything other than to win. And then they whine about people killing themselves on hook who didn't want to wait an entire minute just so you could crank out another one. Lol.

As you said though, you can play how you want and people are free to criticize that style.

You are right, that is true

  • @Predated said:

I have always been of the opinion, if 3 generators are gone, killers are entitled to whatever strategies they must to get a kill. It is impossible to win a game with 4 survivors, 2 gens remaining and no one close to death.

If survivors dont like that kind of killer pressure, maybe they shouldnt have rushed gens so early so the killer has to start rushing kills. Its not fun for the killer if survivors rush, so the killer has 0 obligation to consider survivor fun and rush a kill.

Same with killers rushing kills being rushed by gens. Rushing is an answer to rushing, you cant get mad at your opponent for rushing if you started the rush.

So with statements like this I would be careful because that can backfire. But

To your point 1. killers have basically the right to play as you want. Everybody has his own preferences and it doesn't matter if it's a fast or a slow match. To your point 2. what else should survivors do in your opinion except totems and gens?

  • @Mandy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2534809#Comment_2534809

Not at all, there were a lot of players who couldn't get this code the last time around and we wanted to rectify that. Also we have a lot of new players since then, there's no reason that they should be denied the opportunity to get this charm.

If this would now also apply to Legacy Items it would be like Christmas, Easter and New Year's Eve together. Damn it :)

  • @Mistakesweremade said:

Yeah, this is a universally acknowleged fact especially at high level play. If you don't tunnel or proxy camp, keeping pressure will be really hard.

But then again, if I am going against baby survivors, ¿why would I be playing that way? I don't find playing like that enjoyable against newbies so I don't do it.

I see it the same way. As I said, everything can but not must, depending on how the round goes. For example, when I play as a Survivor, I do it similarly. I always play solo Survivor because it's the best experience in the game for me, it's a personal challenge and I can decide for myself how I want to play. SWF on the other hand is not for me because it feels like a kind of cheat mode, but that's just my own personal opinion and has quite little to do with the post here. So if I notice that the survivors aren't playing well, or the round is going well, I adjust my playstyle accordingly. As a survivor, on the other hand, the same is true for me: basically, however, SAFETY FIRST always stands for me (yes, I play with self-care and I'm not ashamed of it, on the contrary). Either I increase my risk by dying myself, or I play more save. Which also means I'd rather die and have done a lot than escape with nothing at all. Because an escape or kill doesn't automatically mean that you've got yourself a win, even if many people think otherwise.

  • I really like this dripping blood effect of the prestige weapons because it has something of realism. But these veins....how do you see that ?

  • What I would like to mention is: Everything can , not must. Of course, if you don't want to do anything with blood points, that's your decision.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

Hexes were dying already. I can't believe people still use Ruin/Undying. Guess they're just high rollers who get the best totem spots and have them up all game. Everyone else has wised up and stopped using perks that can be destroyed. Now hexes are completely dead because of boon totems, because the survivor has extra incentive to look for totems. It's disappointing because Plaything was so well designed, so I thought we were entering a new era of hex perks actually being good. Now it's all over.

You're not wrong - that's true. I'm also experimenting a lot at the moment, especially when it comes to hexes, and I'm also strongly assuming that there will be fewer hexperks played in the future.

You would assume that a dude with 8k hours and plays in a competitive team usually is pretty darn good at the game, even more in a SWF. And obviously better at the game than a public matches killer playing for fun and bps

That's right and I agree with that but you should also mention that beforehand

  • @Myla said:

I would imagine the developers were having a brain storm and someone suggested a Hex totem for survivor....but get this.... instead of orange fire...ITS BLUE! How creative please praise me!

Well DBD has already enough to fight with performance problems but maybe we get even that still changes, who knows

  • @Bran said:

hexes might have powerful abilities, but overall there weak since survivors have many tools to get rid of them. killers don't even have a reliable way of defending them either. only a select few hexes are even worth using and most are designed to be broken.

this is why hexes and totems need to be changed (i have a post detailing a few ideas on how to do that).

Playing around with hextotems is very critical. They are very powerful. But I am confident that we will still experience one or the other surprise in the future.

  • @DatFastBoi said:

High MMR means you’re going against comp teams with 8k hours each while having less than 1k hours

It's not fun. It's nothing new mechanically, and it doesn't shake anything up.

We DO need good reasons to put things in the game. You can't just say "it's fun".

Passive AoE effects aren't dynamic or "fun". Totems aren't new, and killers already feel weak.

All this will cause is situations where the killer is confused because nothing is working like it should. Because "boon totems are fun".

When the HELL have you even seen or heard of a boon totem in any horror movie?

The whole game just reeks of ill-concieved ideas now.

For example, why does Clown carry a bottle of delayed Red Bull mist? Just forget that this is a game for a second. Why would a killer clown have that? What in the world even acts in that way when tossed inside of a glass bottle? "Uh, there's chemicals..." OK great. He's drunk off his ass, plastered in paint and grease, wheezing and coughing. Alcohol and chloroform. Now suddenly he carries uppers? Did you think it would be funny if he threw bottles of Red Bull? Think about this game's aesthetic for a second, and what impact it has on a player's immersion when you learn that random-ass crap like delayed reverse-chloroform bottles exist.

Why doesn't the Clown just drink the Red Bull from the bottle in his hand? No, he has to throw it and wait for that chemical reaction to happen, just like he planned right? That's why he had it, correct? PLEASE come the hell on. You duplicated his killer power and put a dash (-) before the value, because it was easy to do, and you called it a day. You couldn't come up with an animation where he drinks something from a bottle? It's just such a hacky thing to do.

Like boon totems. Think of something better, would ya?

I do not think that blessing totems are badly designed and since when has a horror movie something to do with DBD ?...I do not understand

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

You can never have enough blood points. Put them into the killers and if not then invest them in items. DBD is always evolving and I strongly expect that we will get much more content, so blood points will always be important.

  • @nicnc82 said:

Swfs is fine. If you wanna go back to waiting for lobbies as killer while survivors try and que up with their friends go ahead.

Nobody said SWF was not ok. That's not what this is about either. As for the lobby's: I think the whole thing will be the opposite and the waiting times even shorter. It also encourages people to play solo because they get more blood points without touching SWF.

  • @Kill_Yr_Idol83 said:

With this upcoming buff to perks like Built To Last and nerfs happening to killers like Spirit and Deathslinger, we need to talk about gen speeds and the imbalance of the game being severely survivor sided and stale for killers.

As is, the meta for killer builds has been running nothing but gen slow down perks and for good reason. Since SBMM has been introduced, we killer mains are essentially being punished for being any good. Each match is nothing but a sweatfest 9 out of 10 times, completely eliminating casual games and making the experience miserable, not challenging. Gens just pop off each time you find yourself in a chase no matter how good you are at patrolling gens especially with perks like Prove Thyself and going against SWFs. It's at the point where SWF teams completely control the match which should never be a thing and these upcoming updates buff them even more. Its made the game boring to have to run a combination of Ruin, Tinkerer, Corrupt and Pop every single match, with every single killer JUST to keep up. You basically have to sacrifice the match just to play around with a different build to break the monotony and have some sort of fun.

It's clear to everyone that this game is survivor sided and with SBMM and these upcoming updates, it's only made killers even weaker. I've seen from devs that they think the buffs to Built To Last is countered by the 12 seconds of wasted time in a locker but to a well organized team communicating on mics, that's nothing. Having essentially everlasting toolboxes and medkits, is game breaking for killers and with nerfing Spirit and Deathslinger to the whim of survivors, is just more nerfs to killers in general. You have to give us something to combat this and overhauling killers add-ons just simply isn't enough. The gen speeds are in desperate need of a change.

completely agree. You are more or less focused on using slowdown perks to make the game a little slower. Still, you don't stand a chance against a well-organized SWF, no matter how good you are.

Survivors cant turn hex totems into boon totems. Only dull totems. Killer can cleanse the boon totems to turn them back into dull ones.

That is not quite right...mandy says:

"The Survivors would be able to bless one of the Hex Totems. This takes the same amount of time roughly as Cleansing the totem anyway." and also here "No, a Survivor can bless a Hex totem turning it into a Boon totem....if the killer snuffs out the Boon, the the totem returns to a Dull totem. The blessing of a totem takes as long or longer than a Hex totem to cleanse."

The Survivors would be able to bless one of the Hex Totems. This takes the same amount of time roughly as Cleansing the totem anyway.

    HOLY sh..... now I'm scared

If the killer snuffs out the Boon Totem, it turns the totem back into a dull one. The Survivor can then choose to rebless that totem or another one.

Also, whilst they have a Boon Totem blessed, if they choose to bless another one - then they can, and it will remove from the original blessed totem onto the new one.

(edited as I keep writing Boom instead of boon!)

All right, as far as I understand it, survivors can only bless a totem. What happens if the killer plays with 4 Hex Perks and the totems are destroyed? Is this some kind of counter against the Boon Perks ?

Baby syndrome. When someone think he is SO BIG he starts blackmailing others. (Like if u don't do this and that i will leave. [ Multiple BAD WORDS] they think they are? Don't like something, go away or give a suggestion how it could be improved) I'm very curious why mods just don't delete those type of topics cause it more like a trolling rather than actual discussion.

I see it exactly the same way

You kinda are though, I do agree with you though for the most part BUT the game overall is in a horrendous state for both sides imo so there's plenty to complain about.

I would play everyday for sometimes 6-8 hours if I had the time and now I play once a week for like 3 hours tops because the game is that bad right now on both sides, again just my opinion and experience.

I respect your opinion but "terrible condition" that sounds more like an ALPHA. You can also overdo it.....
