Wesker my boy what have they done to you. Wesker power unusable in any way shape a form it needs colossal improvements before it’s usable. Pass on dlc it’s a waste of money I haven’t seen such a terrible killer since they Nerf Freddy to the ground.

If you can aim perfectly, there shouldn't be a problem in close range. I mean you could just M1 them in such a situation, but M2 looks cooler I guess. If you want to hit survivors outside of 5m, then you should also be able to anticipate perfectly, since his hitbox is probably even smaller than the hitbox of Deathslinger's gun. After a full day of playing as and against Wesker, my view is clear: From my most hyped killer to a waste of money, and that's after just one update, which funnily enough sounded like a buff first.

  • Yes it is intended.

It's always a bummer when they nerf fun perks. I understand why they did that, but I'm certainly not happy with it.

I did not ask? I was not saying that it is literally not tomorrow, I was saying that for me, when I wake up in the morning, on Monday, and need to wait over 24 hours for the patch, that perhaps this thread was phrased poorly. Of course it is technically accurate which I never disputed. I just think a reasonable person wouldn't make a thread implying that it comes out tomorrow when for all intents and purposes, it ain't.

It has that same energy as when people are like, "wowie, wow, wow, the last time I drank water was last year, tee hee" on New Years. Yeah, ha ha ha... So funny.

I am glad that you disagree, as always. It just wouldn't feel natural if we were on the same page.

I honestly didn't know that people like you existed. I had the feeling that I had already met every kind of person.

Edit: Since I could be misunderstood, I would like to quickly add that my comment is not meant in a negative way.

    Who is excited? 😎

I am excited, my wallet is not. We will probably not only get the chapter itself, but also some cosmetics. I don't usually care for cosmetics that much, but Wesker and Ada have a special place in my heart.

  • Who knows. Maybe they didn't notice, or maybe they just didn't care. Just like with Oni, who is bugged for many months now. At least he will be fixed with the upcoming patch.

  • For DH to work, you must be injured and running at the same time. Also, you are not allowed to be exhausted. As for the killer mechanics: I don't know if full madness (doctor) has an effect on DH. Otherwise, there shouldn't really be anything there that affects DH. But I am tired and my brain doesn't work right now.

It's time to bring out the nerf hammer boys. My suggestions:

    • Can't be used within 10 meters of pallets or windows
    • Reduce duration to 0.4
    • Causes a special deep wounds that takes 50% longer to mend
    • Exhausted for 60 seconds after use instead of 40
    • Doesn't work against killers special attacks
    • Permanent 5% hindered on any user running the perk
    • Half the speedboost of a normal hit
    • Disabled after 1 gen has been completed

    Sounds reasonable, yes?

DH is still used a lot, but it may be the best perk design ever. At least if you ask me. It's so much fun to use, and as a killer, I LOVE it when people manage to pull off a nice DH against me. It usually doesn't work out so well though. It definitely doesn't compare to the old bullshit we had. It is an amazing perk now.

  • I follow a play style where usually 1-2 survivors escape through the gates anyway, but if I kill 3 of them, I usually let the last one go. Especially if they play well or in a fun way.

  • It was insanely fun to play as and against Wesker in the PTB, even though he was bugged. Now they have fixed his bugs and also made some QoL changes. The only thing I'm concerned about is the colission change. We will see how it will affect him.

As I mentioned, he was also a lot of fun to go up against, but they changed something that could have a bigger impact than we expect. He will now injure survivors if they are near you after a pallet/window vault. We don't know exactly what that means. How close do you have to be to get injured? What happens if you vault over a pallet/window and Wesker immediately follows after you? Do you then get hurt even though you tried to get away from the spot immediately?

  • @Dead_Harder said:

The CD was insane. We all assumed the 40 sec CD started after the effect ended, cause you know otherwise it would be insane. This is more in line with what it should have done in the first place.

    A 30 sec pause every 10 seconds ... what?

People don't understand that Reassurance could have easily been abused. Not only against camping killers, but also against survivors on the hook to keep them there. The devs recognized the danger and did the right thing. And like you said: This perk is much better now in terms of design.

  • My solution:

    1. Blink Attacks = Special Attacks (Yes, she then can't use some fine perks, like Franklin's or Sloppy, but it's for the greater good)
    2. Get rid of range addons
    3. Get rid of power gauge
  • If I remember correctly, they gave him 110% because they wanted us to rely on his gun for hits. At least for the most part, so that we would play him a certain way and not just like a normal 115% killer. Back then he was quite good in 1v1 situations because he had insta shots. But since the nerf he lacks power there as well.

I mean, devs can think AA was a concern, but if you literally just run the numbers, it was a complete non-issue that could be avoided before the pickup even finishes, even if you start literally beside the killer. The devs nerfing something doesn’t mean the nerf was actually necessary. If you got caught in AA’s range, that’s literally your fault.

Yes, it's definitely the survivor's fault if they get caught in range of AAs. Because most Nurses don't use Agitation where they can travel almost the whole map.

  • Devs: "The combo Awakened Awareness + Lethal + Starstruck might be too opressive on certain killers"

Definetly not Nurse. I think they are talking about Piggy.

  • It's cheap, but it is what it is. We all already knew that Awakened Awareness would have made the Nurse more powerful. At least they recognized that. That's worth something, too... I guess.

  • When I read the Wesker part of the developer update, I was amazed. So many upcoming changes that really were requested by many people.

In general, the changes were all acceptable. Only the change to Awakened Awareness was a shame. I am already using Lethal on almost every killer I play and the combination with A.A. would have been really nice. But instead of fixing the problem itself (Nurse), a perk is simply weakened, which would not have been that strong for other killers.

  • @DeadByCommunity said:

Anyone know when the release date of the new chapter is coming out?

That should be 3 weeks after the PTB. I don't know if there was ever an exception to this rule, except for the earlier days when we received the update 2 weeks after the PTB. So August 30th it is.

  • @burt0r said:

And I still find it funny when people whine about free stuff not being up to their standards.

And to anyone that gets prime just for rewards of ONE game, do you really have too much money on your hands or lost control of your spending habits?

In my mind paying for Amazon prime ONLY for some dumb skins is everyone own mistake and doesn't make demanding higher quality digital goods reasonable.

And I still find it funny when people whine about other people's whining. Also, the Prime gaming content is apparently meant to be exclusive and only available to Prime members. At least that's what the website says (quote below). But in this case, it's not.

"Explore the Fog in style with exclusive Dead by Daylight cosmetics and offers, only for Prime members."

  • So first of all, it's pointless if you're tunnelling all the time, even though it makes the game too easy for you and you don't even want that. Where is the logic behind that? Or did you just express yourself in an unfortunate way and wanted to speak in general?

It really feels like there are much more killers who focus on a player to force a 3v1. Since hardly anyone uses DS and BT anymore, it has also become much easier to get rid of a survivor. I've been playing only swf for a while now and off the records feels like a must have perk currently. You can combine that perk with DS and even with DH too make the killers tunneling choice as painful as possible. That at least works for me.

Except the killer is the average nurse enjoyer. I still can't believe how much stronger she got after her bug fixes a while back.

  • @dugman said:

Just FYI the devs said in their update blog that they are working on changing the rarities of the post-prestige bloodweb nodes so that you get rare stuff at the same rate as when you were level 50. No word on when that will be updated but hopefully not TOO long since it’s already in the works. Until then, though, unfortunately those early webs after a Prestige won’t have very many of the purples or reds you’re asking about.

Alright, didn't know that. Thanks for the info! Might happen in the next few years. Until then I am grinding I guess.

  • @CornMoss said:

I have noticed around 80% of my matches as survivor are against a nurse, with this exact build: Star Struck, Agitation, Floods of Rage and Pain Resonance, they also use the best range add on paired with the best recharge addon (her best addons).

Before this update I found myself rarely going against a nurse, but after this update which caters to killers people have seemed to go to nurse for some odd reason.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy going against nurses (That are not god like where a survivor cannot last more than 2 sets of blinks). But I also enjoy going against the other killers!

Does anyone have any clue as to why this is occurring?

I can't speak for everyone, obviously, but when I played nurse before the last patch, I struggled with DH and Iron Will. With those two perks pretty much gone, there's not much the average survivor can do against the average nurse. The new DH doesn't seem to work properly either. I think the perk has potential, but often I get the feeling that the input is not processed fast enough.

So we have chance to vote on cosmetics. Currently it looks like Adam is going to lose out on a cosmetic while no matter the outcome Kate, Meg, and Trickster are getting a cosmetic. You can vote here https://woobox.com/i4a87m

No cosmetic for Yun-Jin then. Sadge.

Currently planning streaming myself learning Nurse until I figure out how to play her.

I am exceptionally ######### stupid so this might take a while and I'll probably need all the help I can get.

    That being said, any advice?

There are many good tutorials on YouTube. If you already have a good knowledge of map layouts, you basically just need to understand how her blinks work. In a few 100 hours you'll probably be good enough to beat most teams. It's definitely worth learning how to play the nurse, as she's one of the most enjoyable killers to play.

I would advise you to play without addons, since she doesn't really need any. But if you want to have an easier time, then recharge and range addons might be the best choice. As far as perks are concerned, you have a free choice here.

    Good luck and have fun!

  • @brokedownpalace said:

The devs want to shake up the meta but will leave Nurse busted forever.

I think the only thing that can stop a good nurse is a bunch of DHs. Preferably in combination with Iron Will. Those 2 perks will arguably get nerfed. So.. with the upcoming changes, the nurse might be much harder to deal with. Obviously we need to wait and see how the DH change will turn out.

  • @C3Tooth said:

    Startruck Nurse is okay.

Blink attack count as basic attack is not okay.

It actually is ok, since she can't get hits otherwise. At least not if the survivors know how to use W.

PinHead has the highest overall kill rate in the game at nearly 60 percent. So I don't think anyone can honestly call him weak. I would say though that I haven't seen him used in a competitive setting. And I doubt that he'd do well competitively. But comp is comp and pubs are pubs. In pubs he's strong in comp he's weak (I think). So take that for what you will.

He isn't terribly weak, but certainly a bit disappointing considering how strong he was before the addon nerfs. The stats they showed are pretty much meaningless because they included new players. That's why Nurse is last and Pinhead is probably just first, because his box may be the most broken thing for new players. I would like to see high mmr stats.

  • My comment was only meant to indirectly emphasize that these statistics are meaningless. Pinhead is a weak killer, but we can be damn sure they won't change anything to make him better, because the stats say he's awesome.

  • @lauraa said:

How would you propose to buff her? Because shed be even weaker than pinhead

You mean weaker than the strongest killer in the game according to the stats they showed earlier today?

  • @dugman said:

I think they listen, they just don’t always agree.

I don't know what makes you think that. Scott has already made tons of videos with suggestions on how to make the game better. At least in his opinion. If they really cared, they would have already said or even done something in that direction. The only thing I know is that McLean has reacted to his "Patch 7.0.0" and he's not even a Dev anymore. Also he didn't like most of his suggestions anyway.

  • I collect the data of my games and I haven't seen Pinhead for 47 consecutive games now. Why would anyone want to play Pinhead anyway? Super high skill ceiling for a pretty weak power. His addons used to make him strong, but that's history now.

  • She's absolutely my favorite killer at the moment. She's strong and fun to play. It seems people still don't know how she works. Easily a top 5 killer imo. I may change my mind in the future if people actually get used to her, but currently she is incredibly good.

  • @mistar_z said:

Question how do you justify buying a $15 or any priced cosmetics for killers when you can't see 90% of it?

I bought the $15 linked Blight skin. I hate the linked cosmetics robbery and I'm not really a Blight gamer. So... I literally wasted 15$ dollars on something I don't agree with (linked cosmetics) and especially on a killer I don't even play that often (Blight). Can a psychologist explain what is wrong with me?

  • Does that mean I cannot play Blight with BBQ only anymore? Sadge.

Edit: Oh nevermind. This is probably not about z-Flicks and stuff.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2664469#Comment_2664469

I disagree with that. Imagine Killers could revert or reset missed attempts to do a offensive action. Yeah, i think you can see where this is going.

Timing is a big thing for Killers too. Most of the Killers rely heavily on perfect timing. If you miss the perfect moment to throw a hatchet, you may end up losing a match.

Why should a Survivor not get punished for a failed attempt to time the flashlight right? 🤔

Actually, Nemesis gets to do that with his tentacle strike. You can miss the survivor, but drag the tentacle in a different direction and correct the mistake that way and get the hit. I can actually think of one or two other examples, but I know what you mean. For me, flashlights are fine as they are.

  • @Lordofweed said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2664449#Comment_2664449

Well i would say, they need more practice. Not the Killers fault.

They need to practice more? Kind of funny that you said that, because I think it's a lot harder to correct the timing than it is to just time it right, you know what I mean?

Edit: This sentence reads very strangely. What I mean is: It is difficult to recognize and correct the early timing. However, this is often necessary, especially with strange angles. For the most part, only pretty good survivors with flashlight experience can do this, so a CD on flashlights would remove that skill component.

  • @RainehDaze said:

Or just... add a CD to how often the damn thing can be activated.

Sometimes people use their flashlight a little too early. When they realize they're too early, they can just stop flashing for a split second and re-flash to correct their timing. With a flashlight cooldown that would no longer work, but since it is a skill component, it should stay in the game.

  • I was not aware that people could interpret something into my text that is not there. I do not want to have changed anything here, but I've been here for over 4 years and finally have some serious fun with a killer again and I am just a little worried that they might change him (or the Perk Hoarder), because he technically could be a "wee bit over powered" or "overperforming". Like I said, I don't watch dev streams (or haven't in years) and I don't follow them in any way, so I asked you guys here if there was anything planned/said that I might have missed.

So here's somethings for Wraith add-ons

Why not an lower his speed boost and have add-ons that increase it

Possibly change his iridescent so it actually has down sides to it like he moves slower or something

I would change All-Seeing Wraith, but nothing else. If you lower his speed boost and have addons that increase the speed boost, he would basically become the old Wraith where people would have to play certain addons to make him "good". And that's a no-go in my eyes.

  • Because it is boring as hell

  • I think the changes are a bit of a shame. Those addons felt so great. I seriously haven't played anything else as demo (except survivor) since its rework. Barbs glasses and Black Heart give you such a great pleasure imo. Hopefully they still feel great.

You are both right. What is good for you may not be good for someone else. For example, Smash Hit and Deception are good perks imo. Are they meta? No. It doesn't make them any worse, but I guess some people only consider perks as good if they are meta worthy.
