It wasn't an instantaneous transition from awake to dreaming. You had to charge the meter to full to pull a survivor into the dream world, and if they left your LOS for even an instant during this, the meter would reset.

You confused me so much that for a second I doubted my whole existence. It is true that the transition from being awake to dreaming was not instantaneous. I think it took about 7 seconds, but you could shorten the time further with addons.

To get survivors into the dream world, you simply pressed M2 in their direction. It's true that you needed LOS to do this, but once you had it, you could leave them immediately. There was nothing they could do to stop the process. Once they were in the dream world, they could wake up by failing skill checks or being awakened by non-sleeping survivors.

OG Freddy was garbage. Survivors exit your LOS for a split second and it reset your power bar. You literally had to pull survivors into the dream state to injure them.

OG Freddy had a single ability, which was to pull people into the dream world. They received a 50% disadvantage in action speed in said dream world and Freddy could see them anytime they were outside his TR. There was no power bar. And I am not sure what you mean by that LOS thing.

I've actually made some friends through the end game chat... I would hate to see it taken away because of bad people. Good people shouldn't suffer because of a few bad apples.

Agreed. I actually found my swf group through chat. I had some great exchanges there. You can give probs to survivors/killers for good plays. The chat feature is awesome and it would definitely be unnecessary to get rid of it just because some people are too sensitive or they are too lazy to turn chat off.

You don't want the chat? Then turn it off. It's as simple as that. The fact that some people really want to get rid of the function is beyond my understanding.

Please re work garden please. Had the absolute worst rng that would make any killer cry. Also the inside of the building where it's pitch black is so annoying tbh for anyone with bad eyes.

That is true. I got that map this morning and I cried. Seriously though, Garden of Joy might be the worst map ever made. Even worse than old Ormond.

    See this clip for example:

    https://clips.twitch.tv/PlausibleQuaintToothPoooound-iWBWh8GpGI3RAT4q

    It's Probzz a 5000+ hour player.

The lunge was very predictable, just before a pallet, after she ignored the fake, a player like Probzz should have no trouble hitting that consistently.

If you watch frame-by-frame you can see he actually pressed the button and the animation started. And yet he still got hit.

Do you think the killer is "somewhat experienced" here? No, he just happens to be lucky that it was one of these weird circumstances DH didn't work.

Interesting clip. Never happened to me once. Unlucky I guess.

Edit: Maybe it's a connection problem, since my guy Probzz plays with his viewers most of the time. And if they are on the other side of the world, the killer could be there too. Such situations can happen then.

Maybe not have it work regardless of killer distance, but at least having it not depend on server lag would certainly be a fair ask.

It's not even that the perk can't be used reactively anymore, it still can, but it's completely inconsistent right now, even top players inexplicably miss it sometimes.

Let's be honest, how many hours have you played the new DH? It took me 1 day to realize something was not right with this perk, and I've seen many other people complain about a weird undocumented activation delay, it's definitely not a coincidence. I still think it's a solid perk, but I've stopped using it because it's just way too frustrating to use.

How many hours have I played with the new DH? More than I would like to admit. I got used to the little delay pretty quickly. At first I even hated DH because of it, but now I love it. I've understood how DH works and what makes this perk so balanced.

But what do you mean by "even top players inexplicably miss it sometimes"? I'm pretty sure the devs never intended DH to provide a guaranteed escape. Of course, they will fail sometimes if the killer is somewhat experienced.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3178146#Comment_3178146

no i completely understood what you wrote, nobody is reacting to your m1's with DH, you are just a bot and they read you like a book. m1 is not able to be reacted to, i can prove it in a custom with you if you want, ive proved it on players with 5k hours

even old dead hard, if killer is inside of you and m1's you cant react

If you ask me politely, I can explain what my words up there actually mean. I think it's kind of basic English, but you're still having a lot of trouble understanding it.

  • @scawyxd said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3177771#Comment_3177771

no, you cannot react to most killers m1 that is not how you use deadhard, you have to make them swing at you. even old dead hard if you werent dead harding to a pallet was used the same exact way. you don't know what youre talking about.

You clearly misunderstood what I wrote there.

  • I know solo q is in a bad spot, but why would you give up against Wesker? That makes no sense to me.

  • @Marik1987 said:

    Oh boy...

Deadhard is absolutely perfectly balanced and fine. If u press E too late or too early, you get punished. If not, you receive a Sprint Boost and a 3rd Health-State. It depends on the survivor-player alone to time it right.

The only issue is the animation, which will be fixed in the upcoming patches.

I think some people want a guaranteed DH. Like, no matter how close the killer is, as soon as you see his weapon move for 0.1 sec you press E and escape. That's not how it works and hell it shouldn't. I agree with you that DH is perfectly balanced right now.

I rarely play killer (13% of my matches). On my spirit I play the combination of jolt, pain resonance and dead man switch. I find it very strong.

Just out of curiosity. How do you know that 13% of your games are killer games? Can you see that anywhere or have you been tracking your own games? Or is that just a random number you chose?

  • I love DH for being both fair and strong at the same time. Excellent job by the devs.

  • He is bad, but not worse than most other killers. I think he is in a good position in terms of BHVR standards. That means one thing: they won't change anything about his kit. At least not in the near future.

You mentioned a few good suggestions there, but at the end of the day, you shouldn't hope for any more changes. I will play Wesker many more times to master him. Maybe he's a little better than I'm currently assuming. I have seen some people here who classify him as an A-tier killer. I am CURRENTLY not of this opinion at all.

  • If you really have a 30-game winning streak, that's pretty good. I don't think he's a good killer. Probably B-Tier. I play him a lot myself and played many times already against him. His survivor detection collision is okay, but he's still mediocre at best imo.

Since I've been playing that gentleman, I suddenly believe again that MMR works after all.

  • Garden of Joy, Eyrie of Crows, The Game, RPD, Badham, Fractured Cowshed, Crotus Prenn, Red Forest. All wonderful maps.

"I'd assume it's in an upcoming hotfix" is not a set in stone date lmfao so my comment of them hating committing to dates isn't wrong

Although it's a bit random to ask a forum user all of a sudden, but do you actually know if there are specific dates for hotfixes? For example, the chapters are always on Tuesdays. Is it the same with Hotfixes?

  • Why does defeat demoralize you so much that you can't handle seeing it? It would be really sad if this is not a troll post.

  • @iopenedthebox said:

Literally played 50 games with the strongest perk combos in the meta (1 build with dms + pain res and 1 build with call of brine and overcharge) and every game survivors have escaped no matter what i do. And I consider myself pretty average with Wesker yet I can't find him fun nor strong for red ranks.

You have played 50 games and in each game the survivors have survived? All of them? Even without perks and without addons that should not be possible, no matter which killer you pick.

  • @woodenEnthusiasm said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3171023#Comment_3171023

Actually this is only partially true. His full charge time is 1 second. Demo only needs to charge 65% before lunging. Wesker has to wait the entire 1.5 seconds. Personally I think everything he does is too slow. 1.5 seconds to charge, 2.7 speed while charging, an entire 3 seconds of recovery every dash. He spends more time being slower than survivors than most killers in the game

Well, that would explain the big difference between the charge times then. Kind of embarrassing not knowing that as someone who plays Demo a lot. Thanks for the clarification.

  • @OneGoodBoyDemo said:

I know his hitbox is a big problem but the fact that it can take a long time to charge , survivors have more reaction.

I find it pathetic that wesker's power can be countered by the weakest loops and it is also very difficult to hit survivors vaulting a window.

Maybe i'm really bad playing him, but i think we'll have to wait for his hitbox to be fixed, i lost a lot of hits with it but my biggest problem is the long time to charge.

His power activation is only 0.5 seconds longer than Demo's charge time, but for some reason it feels like eternity. It is impressive how small numbers can have a big impact.

They could of course give him the same charge time as Demo, but whether that makes sense is another question. It's not like he's supposed to just become a Demo on steroids. But I guess that would happen if they reduced his charge time.

  • @I_CAME said:

If it worked well people like hens and alf wouldn't be able to get the ridiculous win streaks that they do. Even they have admitted this.

I stopped believing in (real) MMR a long time ago. In the beginning I'm sure it worked very well, because you could literally see certain streamers suddenly losing a lot of games. I was also facing insanely strong squads almost every 2-3 games. I had almost no chill games anymore. There used to be nights where I only saw the same 8-10 survivors.

But for some time now, everything has kind of returned to normal. It's probably because they've reworked the system a lot, so you don't have to wait endlessly for a lobby.

  • @MKFreak1786 said:

I play on console, and here in the past few games I've come across it's always been an SWF(4 person). Gotta say before I left this game I was getting at least 2 people sacrificed per game, now, ever since I redownload it, I can't even get one sacrifice. I don't consider myself the best player, but I'm not the worst either. I definitely have more hours in Killer than Survivor. I get the game is supposed to be balanced and all, but it just doesn't seem too fun to play Killer anymore. Gonna have to move on and be done if this keeps happening.

What killers do you play? How do you play them (camping, tunneling, survivor rulebook, 12-hook playstyle)? For example, if you go for 12 hooks, the games will certainly be more difficult.

  • It is a relatively interesting topic to me. Of course, I did not expect a disclosure of the data here, but simply asked out of curiosity. Maybe there are people who know more than me, and it seems that there are apparently. Thanks for all the answers.

  • In a way, VHS killed itself. They had tremendous hype and a good chance of being successful. But then, when the hype was at its highest, hardly anyone could play the game because beta keys were very limited. Months of silence followed. As a result, the hype died even before the game came out.

That's a pity, because competition is always nice to have. Right now BHVR can get away with anything because there are no good alternatives.

I get a lot of value out of it, if you use it at a pallet. It's a very strong perk in the right hands.

Not only is it a good perk, but it's also a lot of fun to use. In fact, I even love going against it. A well pulled DH from the survivors makes me kinda happy. I think it's one of the best changes they've ever made. I wouldn't mind if they increased the time from 0.5 back to 1 second, but it's a nice perk either way.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

Run away from the tile while the killer vaults

In most tiles vaulting a window even with the increased speed is enough for the survivors to run away and reach another tile.

I honestly find Bamboozle a pretty bad perk. It's a noobstomper, people who realise how slow the vault is will quickly use it against you

    "It's a noobstomper"

I see what you did there 👀

  • I honestly don't know what's problematic about that. Rather, it would be problematic if he could not injure survivors in such situations. There are killers that can negate window vaults in certain situations (like Demo, Wesker, Huntress). Some other killers can take down survivors behind dropped pallets (like Nemesis, Pyramid Head, Artist).

This is nothing new and basically only prevents the killer from getting looped forerver.

  • This is a new feature. You can now hide your name and your account in general. If you enable this option, others can see what you have seen there.

35 cm? 40 cm were like a truck. No way they will buff it all the way up to 35 cm, there is no way they would be that dumb.

Looking at the images, 25 cm looks like it could work well. 30 cm would probably also be good, but anything above 30 cm would be too much. It would reduce Wesker's skill cap too much and probably cause frustrating hits on the survivors side.

If they approach the matter with a clear mind, they will increase the hitbox to 30cm. Even if we assume that 25cm could also work, it would be absolutely ridiculous to risk a second disaster by speculating on it.

  • I rather see a connection between bad killers and the urge to tunnel with them. Has nothing to do with Wesker. And when I say bad killer, I don't refer to the player behind them.

Which killer perks are countered? If we want to counter a killer perk, we have to do something in game to do so. Like cleansing all totems, etc.

I can think of following: Calm Spirit counters Infectious Fright, Distortion counters every single aura perk, Kindred is a hard counter to Insidious (campers). Reassurance is not only an effective counter against camping, but also kind of negates Monstrous Shrine. There are probably more examples.

  • @Brightened said:

Was the whole point of this perk to counter adrenaline runners?

Seems like lots of stuff is happening to our survivor perks... What's the point of running adrenaline after this new killer?

Wasn't the point of the rework to make some of those useless ones more useful?

Like I'm not going to run adrenaline on the off chance that they're not going to cancel it out... That's like what happened to decisive strike...

    Another perk dead I suppose.

You still get the speed boost. And it's nothing new that some perks counter other perks. We have that on both sides. And who's running Terminus anyway?

  • @RinsDoormat said:

Fixing 'slightly' makes me think they will increase it too little then call it 'fixed' and no further changes ever. Will be pretty funny after their 'slight' reduction from PTB destroyed him.

I think we will find out in 1-2 weeks. It's probably best not to have any expectations at all.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/344374/so-wesker-is-bugged-what-now

My guess is they'll tweak the hitbox back up to 30-35 (was 40 on PTR, now it is 20) i'd be surprised if they don't at least do that on tuesday. Other fixes might be part of the maps itself so it will probably be longer to fix those.

Huh? I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't change anything about survivor collision detection. And if they do, I guarantee you they'll change it to a maximum of 25cm. And that will probably be pretty damn unsatisfying again, but not as frustrating as it is now. So people will just accept it and move on.

  • @EvilSerje said:

After 5th fun match in a row I finally set up recording. These were a fine games and we can clearly see that no overpowered perk of filthy survivors can be abused, and killer can "secure a kill" and "apply proper tactic".

    https://idiod.video/uo6ywg.mp4

I think the next smart move would be to remove all exhaustion perks, built-in BT and increase gen repair time to 5 minutes. Yay! Thank god Reassurance was nerfed!

Solo q in a nutshell. The other survivors are running to the hook instead of doing Gens. And why? Because they have no idea the Huntress is camping. So much wasted time because they have no information. That's why, in my opinion, kindred should be basekit. But this conversation has been going nowhere for years. Fortunately, I have not had to deal with it for a long time now.

  • @GgamerG said:

How does BHVR go from making one of the most fun killers we had in a while on PTB, to completely frustrating in 3 weeks?

For me he was a 10/10 in terms of fun factor. Even with all the flaws he had. I had already suspected what was coming when they talked about changing the collision "slightly". When they talk about minor changes, you know #########'s getting serious.

  • I am using following perks to have fun as survivor:

Flashbang, Head On with Quick and Quiet, Overcome-Lucky Break-Bite the Bullet combo, Plunderer's, Diversion, Deception, Power Struggle Build (only works in swf)

On Killer: Coup de Grace, Dark Devotion, PWYF, Trail of Torment

  • I would rather play as Nemesis as he is less frustrating and overall the better killer. I've been playing against Wesker a lot lately. Not really surprising, since he is new. At the moment, it's pretty fun to play against him. We've laughed a lot in the last two days. He is an object of amusement for swf groups. But tbf most of the killers are.

Edit: I am so broken by the fact that Wesker has become absolute garbage that you can now find me under every Wesker post.

We've had six DCs, eight 4-man escapes, and three 3-man escapes. From time to time he has actually managed to grab us for some reason. Although we have mastered the insanely difficult technique of side stepping. I really hope they continue to monitor his collision. His current state is certainly unacceptable.

Hey bloodshade, do you think it'd be fair for his dash survivor detection to be 30cm? It was 45cm in the PTB but that seemed like a bit too much. I think 25-30cm would really help Wesker

The survivor detection was 40 in ptb. Now it's 20. If they want to change anything, which I don't necessarily expect in the next few months, they should go with the safe 30. 25 will probably suck similarly.

  • I'm glad to see that there are people who like Wesker. I wonder if I would have felt the same way if I hadn't had an insane amount of fun with the ptb version of him.

  • The answer is simple: For the same reason why killer perks are OP-

  • @ClarityOfWill said:

Wesker is fine for the most part. He does need some fixes in regards to hits not registering and not taking a heath state on collision, but otherwise he's pretty decent. People advocating for a return to the PTB level hitboxes are laughable and hopefully the devs take no notice. There is no way 40cm was balanced there, it gave me hits I clearly did not deserve. However, 25cm might be more reasonable in the long term. By the sounds of it, with the exception of a few very clear examples, most of it boils down to skill issue and knowing when vs when not to use his power.

It's nice that you like him. Currently, he fits perfectly in the line of underwhelming killers. Of course, you can make it easy for yourself and talk about skill issues. "Git gud" has always been a valid argument to drop in the past few years. Strictly speaking, a certain killer is not too strong, but instead most survivors are just not skilled enough to beat her.

I've never been a fan of high effort, low reward killers. Plenty of weaknesses, few strengths. Sounds like fun. Pretty much just what Wesker is at the moment.

The despicable part would be "here is how he plays on the PTR. You see? Do you enjoy this? Are you going to buy it? Great. PTR closed. Oh yeah and we also nerfed it by half on the sly right before release. Oh you bought it thinking you were getting what we showed you? That's too bad. Better luck next time."

I mean you got a point, BUT they announced the change a week ago in the Dev update. "We’ve slightly toned down the Survivor collision detection of The Mastermind’s bound."

Oh, wait... now I feel even more scammed, because they reduced the collision detection for survivors by 50%. In what world is 50% considered "slighty"?
