You get irridescent emblems through normal play anyway so a change really wouldn't make much of a difference except you might get it sooner.
If anything they'll probably make it so many of them don't need to be completed in one trial. I doubt there will be complete reworks
Ya I wasnt too concerned about the current challenge I'm on. Just the later ones. But I guess they'll most likely be changed before I get there anyways.

Waiting at work going through here to see what the changes are going to be

"Survive the challenge at full health using the perk No Mither"

May I ask how you got over 8 saves in one match?
He unhooked himself twice duh.
Really though, my problem with going down the survivor path is the 2nd challenge is the unhook during egc.

Indeed, but they're not like the current old characters.
Those have 2 paragraphs, Yui has, what, 15?
Not saying they can't do more, they just left a LOT open for imagination with the old ones...
...Which, now that i think about it, is actually kinda nice.
While I like the more detailed backstory, it also just kinda....ends.
And then she dissapeared...kinda lame ending to me

Theres an instant blind add on? Lol
I'm assuming you still need to shine it in their face

How else do I get my level 1 trapper challenge done? Lol

I only play solo and I'm not having the same experience as OP. maybe it's my rank? I dunno.
But I enjoy it. Sometimes do I get screwed over or sandbagged? Yup
But there are way more times people are just helping each other out.

Freddy technically has that lullaby thing going on

I'd rather keep survivors just as skins. If there we're passive buffs (even minor) it would mean some few select characters would be meta and thus picked more often than not. This would destroy character diversity as some characters who would have basically meaningless buffs would never be played.
Also people have skins for their favorite characters and most players probably only have one character with a lot perks so if characters suddenly got a passive and your specific character that you main didn't have a good passive you'd have to level someone else. Even worse if you had spent money on skins for a character with a bad passive you'd be outta luck.
Agreed. As someone who played a lot of Friday the 13th, this was a major drawback.
I love the fact I can play as whoever I want and my perks/gameplay can be whatever I want with them.
-
Just set a timer? I guess my other question would be what are your intentions once you know the limits been reached lol

Are they down across all platforms?

Sometimes you can't find teams to do this though...
Dont really need a team though. Just one survivor will do, as long as they keep stelling in the traps.
-
What if we could have a Male and Female cenobites? Like legion, each a little different in look (one could be pinhead)
I just want to use the lament configuration as an offering to whatever map would be tied to them and then give myself up for the hook.

Sacrifice unwilling souls to the entity in my basement.
Sometimes I flash a flashlight in someone's face too.

I actually got that one finally on my first try! I managed getting at least 6 survivors trapped. I am lower killer rank, so that may have helped.
The last killer task I have to do is interrupting a Survivor, it's just random whether a Survivor will do that or not. I've been doing it when the task wasn't selected. 🤷♂️
It helps if you have ghostface. It was the easiest challenge for me.
-
Same. That's all I can add to this lol

So we do need to differentiate between the tome and the rift. Like the tome will be there forever. So some joining when we are in the next tome, can still complete this one. So the "grindy" aspect shouldn't really be a factor.
So you can struggle, but keep at it, knowing it isnt going anywhere. So if they are only interested in the tome portion, they can take as long as they like, it's the rift that actually has an end date.
-
I have a bunch of these. I guess my question is as a survivor, what's is their usefulness?

This...we went from being complete our challenges in 1-2 games to needing 10. Unless you sit there doing challenges instead of playing the game.
Which is toxic for the game.
They really need to rethink their design for it. Shouldnt be encouraging players to play selfishly. They should be simple, and done just for playing the game.
Second, personally, look at the Apex Legends game pass. You have all your challenges unlocked, so you're getting progress for all of them, not locked into specific ones at any one time.
That's a well designed season pass that DbD should take from. Theirs is very fun and player friendly. No one complains about the design on theirs.
To be fair, some of them are as simple as we can get. Do gens, save people, heal someone, sacrifice someone, use a med kit. It's just that the ones that are supposed to be done over several games people want to complete in one or two.

I wasn't aware that people 'freaked' over Tome II. There was a glitch that let people see Tome IV early, though, and it is a bit ridiculous/promotes toxic play.
There were definately several posts I remember reading about it. Basically, it boiled down to the following "I cant save 15 survivors in one match that's too grindy" and "complete this challenge in one match? That's too hard"

You know it didn't have to be saves, right? Drop a pallet + Blind x2 would grant you this. Just a heads up for you guys incase they make a "blind 4" or something, doesn't have to be a save.
Ya they weren't saves. But my aim with flashlights is horrible. From what I read on here playing on ps4 is probably adding to that.
Hopefully I run into a friendly myers again when it comes up again.
I'm actually starting to wonder about the next tome, and if it will be Jake or dwight.
-
I wouldn't even say you need to be well versed. I'm not a seasoned player (typically between rank 12-15) and I didnt have too much of an issue.
Granted...I got lucky with the flashlight one where the killer let me do it.

There's a difference between hiding on the off chance you won't be seen and literally going out of your way every single time to avoid being chased. And then also not doing anything useful even while someone ELSE is being chased because you're.. scared? Dumb? Idk.
Why dont we just use the word "useless" instead of "immersed" ?

Read the post. Someone who hides anytime they hear a terror radius, basically.
What am I supposed to do when I hear the terror radius?
-
What's an "immersed" player?

Well the unhooks do have to be safe ones. Thats there to stop players simply ripping people off the hooks regardless of the Killer camping or not.
An interesting challenge would be "escape as Feng Min using only her three unique perks" as less than 0.0% of the player base has done that achieve.
I cant tell if you're being sarcastic about the ming thing, or just talking about switch.

When does the third tome come out?

I don't see any survivors helping me with my challenges. But I'm not calling them sweaty for not letting me sacrifice them.
I'll let you sacrifice me if you let me blind you....twice lol

I'm also playing it wait and see. I decided that if I ever manage to finish the Rift I will buy the pass. If I don't, I won't.
I want their decision to make the rift too hard backfire on them.
I dont think the rift is too hard.....yet. the only one I have left is the flashlight one and I'm just hoping for an afk killer at this point.
Grindy yes, hard, not yet. The tome is where most of my interest is, and it just happens to progress the rift, so its win win for me.
-
43 with just the flashlight challenge left in tome 2.
I'm curious to know if they will provide percentages of how many completed each tome.
The further along these tomes go....I may even buy the pass if I'm close enough that I would get half of it back.
-
I enjoy solo survivor. To me it's just more fun not knowing who you are foing into a match with, and then making decisions based on what you see happening around you.
Do you sometimes have to carry people? Sure. Sometimes I'm the one getting carried as well.
Solo survivor is still fun to me. Some matches suck, others are awesome.
Maybe it's the whole "surviving with strangers" thing, I dunno.
-
S - the Claudette that saves me in front of Leatherface while he is swinging his chainsaw towards us.

Sometimes I do sometimes I dont. You'll know I dont because a cloud of smoke will come up and poof, anyone who was helping me has vanished.

They are fine how they are. I would only move the second slot to the right hip so the left hip doesn't look so tacky with three slots.
We live in a world where wearing two charms on one hip is fine, but three is tacky.
Also...
I agree with you
-
What would be a fun challenge? Im just curious as to what you think a fun one would be.
-
Ya he gets me still. Especially in the indoor maps when I turn a corner and BOOM
-
If they stop what will I have to read on here?
-
30 something for me. I'm just trying to stay ahead of when the rift closes.
So x amount of days left in the rift has to be more then the levels I need to complete still

Behavior could retool the lore but it might make the diehard fans of the cult classic a little upset.
This part of your comment can basically be applied to any licensed character.
But since it's a wishlist, I'm gonna say Pinhead, Candyman, Mr. Hyde.
I'm a little more partial to original killers, I'm fairly certain mr hyde is public domain. I could of course be completely wrong.
-
I took these ones to do the dark sense challenge
-
Getting facecamped while watching my overly altruistic team crouching close to me but not doing anything.
Just let me die slowly and get the gens done already.

Well, I take my previous comment back. I'm actually halfway done with tome 2. I managed to get the dark sense challenge done on my first try. Bond + a tool box is a must.
Same thing happened to me. I was hesitant to pick this challenge then got it done first match, then put dark sense away until the next tome
-
Just out of curiosity, what goes into your ranks?
Like when facing the clown, does this mean I should be having an easier game then against a nurse?
I'm not debating that they should switch I'm just wondering how people come to these conclusions about where on a list certain killers appear.

The "Complete 3 generator while using Dark Sense", its not because its hard to do gens but because there are other 3 survivors to do they, since is the objective
You only have to have dark sense on as a perk, it doesnt need to be active.
If you have Bond, run it and check where the other survivors are and what they are doing.
You only have to be on the gen when it finishes, not do the entire thing from start to finish (I know this because I thought this would also take forever and got lucky that I got it first match as a killer was camping one guy on a hook)
Basically, finish the first gen you see, then look for your teammates on a gen or one that has already started, and try not to get on the hook.
-
It still would mean you could just have the challenge selected, never attempt it, and then still get the reward.
Dont get me wrong, I'm no expert survivor or killer, but they are called "challenges" for a reason and not called "try your bestest".
I am not looking forward to getting to that flashlight one, I'll be crossing my fingers I run into an afk killer or a friendly one (not sure how friendly they will be after I shine their eyes though)
Is there a specific challenge you yourself are having a difficult time with?
-
When my son plays he facecamps.
Sometimes it's the only way a killer can be assured of a kill, while it's not fun for the person on the hook, it usually means that everyone else can go about their business.
If I'm the one being face camped, honestly I hate when I see the other survivors just crouching near me waiting....like he hasn't left, go do some gens while you got the time, or dont complain that you couldnt get out when you had ample time to do so.
-
People would just suicide as soon as the match starts so it counted as an "attempt".
As time consuming as some of them are (drop all the pallets, not heating on it, I did it myself) if the killer is engaged in you hopefully someone is doing gens.
Currently I'm just trying to get 15 gens done, and the distractions being cause by other players getting their own challenges done is very helpful.
-
@Bithard said:
Camping works against really altruistic teams. In these cases Bubba is the strongest killer in the game as they will either all go down or do nothing trying to get the save.
Accurate. When you see one guy on a hook and 2 red bodies around him...you know its over
