@HazeHound the killers only objective is to kill survivors though. Much like survivors only objective is generators.

Survivors often "camp" and "tunnel" a generator in the same way killers "camp" and "tunnel" survivors. If survivors didn't then perks like Surveillance would not be effective even margionally.

Not defending killers "camping" or "tunneling" here. Just saying, when examined closely, "gen rushing" and "tunneling" are pretty much the same as @ba_tetsuo was saying.

The problem is, if you don't camp or tunnel a generator, all of its progress can be lost just by the killer kicking it. Once a survivor is hooked, that's it, it's indelible.

If Gens couldn't regress, maybe survivors wouldn't tunnel gens.

How big of a punishment is there for killer camping/tunneling?

The punishment is actually really big, but it requires a coordinated, or at least a smart, group of survivors to do it.

If survivors jump on gens when the killer camps, and the one on hook doesn't DC, 3 gens will be done around the time the survivor dies, assuming no other perks mess things up (like Ruin).

Killer has lost half the game already at that point for just one kill.

Of course, this doesn't make the hooked survivor feel any better about it.

    You need to read better,

he say to buff survivors to swf par level so we can buff killers

That's impossible. Buffinf Survivors will buff SWF, because SWF are made of survivors.

    This isn't rocket science.

You cannot get around people working in a coordinated way. It's just how online games work. Killers need to stop whining about SWF and using SWF as a crutch and en excuse for their lack of skills.

  • @That_Glass_Guy said:

The other option could be to embrace SWF with coms, and make killers stronger in general to help balance it out. Then again, stronger killers would make the new survivor player experience more difficult, not to mention solo survivors would be cannon fodder. So what is the answer? Simple.

    Make a new game.

The game would die out, becuase a lot of players don't play with Comms. All of us would stop playing because it's just an exercise in masochism.

  • Let SWF play together but without voice programs.I think need to restrict voice programs in game. What do you think about it?

    SWF doesn't have voice.

  • I don't want that, I like Dance With Me working when I Quick Vault or Locker Exit.

If you take that away from me I will cry.

Bah they should just charge a flat 12$ a month pay to play and give away cosmedics.

Honestly thou I don't know why they don't just make for example a Easter theme for 2019.

And every month if u reach rank 1. u get to pick one so 2 a month if u get both killer and survivor .

So 8 charcters or 24 different peices if u wanted so they only have to make one set per year.

Not only would I uninstall the game right away if they did that, I would even demand for a refund and report them to the better business bureau.

  • You would have to block half the playerbase for it to work.

  • Just going up against Doctor makes me miserable.

I know it's not a popular licensed killer, but I'd love to see the Judas Breed from Mimic. Dying to get a killer that plays off the fear of bugs. I could definitely seeing it having two stances/modes.

How about the Candyman. Fear of bees!!!

  • It is just plain laziness on the part of BHVR. It takes all of 5 seconds to post whatever official announcements you have here or in the game and copy it into Steam. If you don't have a community manager handling the Steam Forums, for goodness' sake get one. Or get your PR team here to take 5 seconds out of their day to post the same updates on Steam.

    This is not hard.

  • Ah, another butthurt killer whose manliness is challenged by survivors standing by the exit gates -- which could be for any variety of reasons but it always has to be about you, doesn't it?

Most survivors stay at the exit gates in case someone goes down and needs help. Staying at the gates also serves as a distraction for the killer so survivors at the other end opening the other gate have more time to get it open.

And a lot of survivors just run straight out and don't care about their team.

Some do it to taunt killers, but you know what? Who cares. Grow some skin you're on the internet buddy. This level of butthurt is hilarious for such a small thing.

I imagine all of you whiny killers who complain about teabagging never even played Counterstrike in the 90s, where real teabagging happens, not the water down squats they do here in DbD. Real tea bagging has you, dead on the ground and looking up with eyes of a deadfish, only to see the other guy squat over your head and rub their balls into your face. That's real teabagging and we were all fine with it back in the day. You kids these days are way too sensitive.

  • I have something like 800 hours and have hit red ranks, but didn't get chosen, it's either random or they have a quota for certain ranges of play time and other factors (like location, ping, etc. I guess).

  • Makes you wonder what kind of poor planning they have to cancel an experiment like this.

The number of times I look around the map and don't see anyone with BBQ outweighs the number of times I actually see survivors with it. There are so many ways to avoid it, it's only good for Bloodpoints most of the time. When it works, it's a good way to get the killer farther away from the hook.

I've also had survivors think I found them because of BBQ when I actually just stumbled into them by accident. Happens more often than you'd expect. What counts as a "good hiding spot," anyway? Unless the killer is super inexperienced and never plays survivor, I don't see how there'd be a spot they'd never think to check.

Wrong. BBQ delays the game. It forces every survivor to drop what they are doing and hide.

And you get this benefit whether you take the perk or not.

Killers have it so much better than survivors; you get the benefits of many perks without even needing to take them along.

Every survivor worth their salt plays with the assumption that you have Nurse's Calling and BBQ and Chili. Nobody heals while they hear the killer terror radius, and every runs close or gets in a locker when the killer picks someone up. Some people even go around cleansing totems instead of doing gens, even if you don't have NoEd! This gives you huge benefits to Killers by default, as a baseline.

There aren't many Survivor perks that force killers to change their behavior quite the way BBQ does. The only one that comes to mind is Decisive Strike, which forced killers to dribble not so long ago before it got nerfed (so killers don't do that anymore either).

No it's about you, the survivor, signing up to play a game against whatever killer/build/offering etc. If you're too much of a wussy to stick around in a tough game whether you win or lose, don't play the ######### game. It really is that simple. You know full well that you could face a 5 blink/omega blink nurse, instasaw Billy, iri head Huntress etc yet you still hit that ready button then DC when your escape isn't handed to you on a silver platter.

What exactly is fun for you if you keep DCing majority of your matches? Why are you still playing if you're not having fun? Is it an addiction? Insanity?

Killers can get off their high and mighty horses, tons of killers DC too. And a lot of it happens in the lobby before the game even begins.

And let's not even talk about de-rankers, who are the absolute worst trash in the player base. You are not only dodging skilled survivors at higher ranks, you are only interested in playing to bully hapless survivors in lower ranks.

  • A penalty is not a fix.

Banning people who DC will just result in people quitting the game.

It will not fix the real reason why people DC: which is that the game has unfun mechanics and other technical issues, and has only gotten worse -- for both sides -- in recent months.

  • Totem Counter removes the element of the unknown and is defintiely a nerf to NoEd.

Suggestion#1 is bad because it removes counterplay. The less uncounterable things in the game, the better.

NoED is fine really. Survivors just need to learn to cleanse the totems, or suffer the consequences.

That's the problem. "Mid tier" for Killer is a joke compared to default Survivors.

You are either top tier or nothing these days. There almost isn't a "mid tier" anymore when almost no Killer can stand their ground against good Survivor teams.

Only in Killer fantasy world, where ever survivor is Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee combined.

Mid Tier killers and even low Tier killers are fien.

  • Isn't this like the 100th thread you've made on this?

  • Recently purchased game reviews are actually not helpful, these reviewers don't have anywhere near enough experience with the game to properly review it.

  • You forgot Category 5: Piece of Shits

This includes Left Behind and Monstrous Shrine.

  • Why are you so mad, you get 3 free kills out of the deal with a good chance for a 4K.

  • I wouldt.mind buffs or a rework to LF.

He just feels so weak as a killer. Good leathwrfacws and bad teams can still get him to win, of course, but I definitely think he's the weakest killer.

  • EGC is there to prevent hatch standoffs and hostage situations.

It is not there for your convenience Killer.

99% the gates is a tactical option and not one without it's drawbacks. When in a chase for.your life that second you waste going for the lever and opening the gate can cost you the escape and a down.

If it's really a big deal for.you just open the gate yourself.

    This is 100% a non-issue.

  • how this perks are interaction?this perks counteract each other.

Just be smart and don't take both perks out on the same outing.

This is like taking No Mither and Self Care.

  • No if things get messy, you're supposed to keep playing the game. If the killer traps you, you made a mistake. Yes, people trolling is a problem, last night I d/ced from a game where a guy lead the killer to my locker (i was hiding from bbq) and pointed me out, and I D/ced.

Sounds like you need to practice what you preach. Hypocrisy isn't convincing.

Even if you realize you were wrong for DCing, I seriously don't feel inclined to agree with you when you yourself are using the Leave Game button.

  • @SmokePotion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/490559#Comment_490559

ok? And? This exists in other games, and they don't let you leave the game and ruin it for everyone.

They actually do, every single online game has a "leave game" button or equivalent. The only game that doesn't have a "leave game" button is Sword Art Online.

  • So the issue is that the game doesn't have enough players to support two separate game modes? That's a little sad.

  • They definitely need to add it in, but I think they just don't have the time (or desire) to do it. Which is a shame, you'd think they'd want to expand the game. I'm not even too concerned about balance.

I'm sure it'll open a whole can of worms for balance, but who cares? I play this game to have fun, I get stomped all the time and I still have fun. Those who find it unfair or unbalanced will stick to the classic game mode. Those who want to have fun, they have an option to play something different and interesting.

  • It has nothing to do with luck really. It has to do with playing the game. I mean, you'd have to be pretty new if you don't have a hoard of items stockpiled on at least one character. I have several hoards over several prestiged characters. I even wasted a lot of them and just prestiged some purple and pink items away because I didn't have enough time to use them and wanted to prestige already because I hit the 1M BP cap.

I just seriously cannot relate to people crying over a purple flashlight. They are so easy to get.

If you really can't find a purple flashlight in your bloodwebs and it's such a big deal, you can stockpile items by playing Plunderer's Instinct and Ace in the Hole. I have dozens of pink and purple items and add-ons on my main just from using these two perks. I just love hoarding even if I never use them. One day I hope I will have 100 skeleton keys and rainbow maps in my inventory.

Maybe also spend some time with We're Gonna LIve Forever if you're strapped for blood points, I don't know. It seems you're very experienced in the game with 1.5k posts here, so you definitely must have been playing for a while. I just can't understand how you are running out of purple flashlights.

  • I just feel you need to set your ego aside. Don't you feel embarrassed with all the "I" and "My perfect game" stuff you are saying? Really.

Just wait for dedicated servers and let BHVR do their thing. Nobody likes DCs, survivors actually also hate DCs almost as much as Killers do. Let's see how it pans out when dedicated servers come.

  • Gold toolbox also appears on Lampkin Lane.

  • Sorry, but even if you aren't trying to sound entitled....

    • "its just not fair that someone can dc and basically rob me of a perfect game"

    You totally sound entitled.

You say Survivors shouldn't feel entitled to the hatch, but at the same time killers aren't entitled to 4Ks. You fought for your 4K, but they also fought to survive. You cannot invalidate their effort, just as they can't invalidate yours. The point is, you both worked hard for it and you both came up short of your goal of your perfect game. That means it was a good match.

Tactical DCs are a sacrifice. They aren't done out of spite. They are done as a heroic sacrifice. Don't cheapen someone's sacrifice just to satisfy your own ego.

If it really bothers you just report them all for Griefing or whatever it is against the rules for, and let BHVR handle it.

  • No, the purpose of fixing the hatch standoff was to fix the hatch standoff, not to make life easier for the killer.

That said, it's also not to make things easier for survivors. It's to remove hatch standoffs.

So I'm against putting 3 exit gates. It would make it a little too easy for survivors. I don't know what the correct thing is.

A decent compromise would be: if the Killer closes the hatch, Survivor can open the hatch, but it also takes 15 seconds, it's not an instant thing. Or even longer, maybe 20 seconds base, since survivor needs to tug hard. While it sounds the same as 3 exit gates, the difference is the hatch is not visible when the last gen is completed, and you'd still need to find it.

Survivors who didn't find it won't know where it is, and they have the timer ticking as well so they are under pressure. I think this is a decent compromise.

  • Actually it is a bad item.

    It's useless without add-ons, and it's a piece of turd with add-ons.

  • Sounds easy! BHVR should be able to do that in 20 years.

  • I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy, because I'm easy come, easy go, a little high, a little low. Any way the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me.

    I hope we get Pinhead.

    med-kits limited.and be amazing perk franklne's demise

It's rare you will need to use Self Care more than 2 times in a match. A yellow medkit with a few add-ons is good enough. The time you save using medkits over a slow as heck perk like Self Care is much better, and frees up a perk slot for something more useful. Ever since they nerfed healing to the ground self care is just not that good.

Self Care might be a good choice if you want to bring something else along like a toolbox or a key,but otherwise it's always better to use a medkit.

  • Well, a lot of the English names are phrases nobody uses ever.

    • Mettle of Man
    • Urban Evasion
    • Plunderer's Instinct
    • Monitor and Abuse
    • Dark Sense
    • No Mither
    • Corrupt Intervention
    • Bitter Murmur
    • Coulrophobia
    • Territorial Imperative

    These aren't things people say.

  • There is no cure for this. You live in China, until you overthrow your government you are never going to play good online outside of China. The Great Firewall of China has to go.

It also means the playerbase for the game is dwindling. The reason you are getting people from other parts of Asia, is because there aren't enough people in your region of China to play with.

I doubt that BHVR is going to release China-dedicated servers -- they probably need to jump through hoops with the government to do that. I hear they need to apply for some kind of license to do it. Too much of a hassle for a company like BHVR. That means you'll have to do that VPN thing to connect to foreign servers that you have to deal with in China.

I'm often matched with people from China or Korea myself. It's a hassle, but it just means there aren't enough local players. I also play with Aussies all the time.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/64478/unpopular-opinion-killer-falling

The problem with this idea is that perks like balanced landing that reduce the stagger turns maps like disturbed ward turn into absolutely horrendous loops and against some killers - literal infinite loops.

This idea would only make this problem worse on already problematic maps and would be unnecessary. Ontop of this when a killer falls from a height they also move way further away than a survivor does due to their higher movement speed which already puts enough distance between the killer & survivor as it is.

Killer has Enduring, which is meta anyway, that should be a perk to remove the stagger effect similar to Balanced landing.

I always found it strange that killers were unaffected by falling but survivors where, when the design was supposed to be that Killers move faster, but Survivors are more agile.

  • I will comment as I please.

And yes, this should be a thing for killers who want hardmode and rewards for it.

This shoudl also be a thing for open perk slots. Every perk slot left blank should net a small BP% bonus. Both for killers and survivors.

  • Hahhaha that's actually not half bad. I would use that if I'm not taking Bond with me into the trial. I would use it over Distortion any day.

Not having to worry about things like BBQ and Chili is huge to be honest. It frees you up to do a lot of stuff you normally couldn't. Not being able to use Aura perks yourself is a pretty signficant drawback for some people, and not being blind on hook is bad for anyone.

Would be funny to combo it with Object of Obsession. You just wasted a perk slot haha.

  • The entire online gaming scene is toxic.

Teabagging? I find it hilarious how people get so butthurt over teabagging.

People were teabagging back in the 90s when we were all killing each other in Counterstrike. How low must your self-esteem be to be bothered by teabagging?

In Overwatch tons of obnoxious people will type GG EZ after a match (some even during the match). It's seriously not a big deal.

This is the internet. Grow some thick skin.

  • Might be bugged lobby.

Just exit the game and find a new match.

If that doesn't work, restart your Dead by Daylight, might be some bug.

If it still doesn't work, just accept that killers no longer want to play and instead are all playing survivor, and either play Killer or move on to a different game.

Under no circumstance should you ever be waiting 20 minutes for a game. The longest I have ever waited was 5 minutes as killer. As survivor I get matches in 5 seconds usually, then while in the game maybe a minute waiting for other survivors to pop in, unless there's a bugged lobby and nobody else joins in.

  • I haven't gotten anything, so I'm assuming I haven't been selected.

  • Let me explain Remember Freddy? He had several people Disconnecting and ended up getting nerfed after about 1-2 weeks

    I agree!

We should not give people nerfs to Decisive Strike, nerfs to Mettle of Man, buffs to Legion, buffs to Pig, buffs to Freddy, etc.

I mean, heaven forbid we give people what they want!

  • @DenimChicken said:

4 man SWF that coordinate their perks around each other with 3 of them body blocking on each hook attempt is a guaranteed wiggle free. Happened to me multiple times in a match yesterday. It was far from fun.

Not to mention the 2 with flashlights always knew where their friend went down to be there with their purple flashlights trying to blind me.

It's hell when the group is really good and take perks based on the group.

I basically got farmed the whole match I should have just walked away and saved myself the frustration.

I'm sorry that you had to face superior players, but no, actually I'm not sorry.

Sometimes you will just get outplayed! That's how it is. There is always someone better than you. There are tons of good players out there. And they will beat the snot out of you whether they are in an SWF or not.

Just accept the loss, learn from it if you can, and move on to the next game.

  • @Blueberry said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/488209#Comment_488209

It's because they don't actually want a fair match, those groups just want to bully a killer.

And you think using Ebony Moris is fair? Killers who use Ebony Mori just want to bully survivors.

  • Just how common are these hardcore 4-man super coordinated bully squads?

I am sure they are not as common as deranking killers bullying baby survivors in the low ranks.

So really, I don't care. It's a big advantage, yes, but there are tons of casual players who don't abuse it, there are tons of casual survivors and solo survivors who get massacred by killers every day, there are tons of casual killers who get outplayed by casual survivors every day.

Far more than the number of hardcore SWF groups and hardcore killers who just want to bully survivors (and yes there are many of those), I'm sure.

This is a non-issue, but killers can't seem to let it go. Just let it go. Just accept that sometimes you will be outplayed, and sometimes you will be the one outplaying others.

1 … 44 45 46 47 48 … 52
