  • I disagree with No Mither being allowed to heal at end game, the point of the perk is to be injured after all. I actually don't like the idea of being healthy at the start of the game either, a big reason why you run No Mither is to combo it with Resilience so you can do things fast from the get go.

  • They play 10-12 hours a day. :)

    Easy!

I let my little cousin play whos 6 and he 2 kills at rank 20. Im not saying what you're saying is wrong, i felt like I was way better than my teammates right off the bat from game sense but i won my first like 5 games as survivor....how many can you win as killer?

Not to just write you off but your ending completely discredits everything you say, im your own words in an attempt to personally attack me by saying i said i never make mistakes....but that's not what i said. So that whole rant about survivors and killers making mistakes is exactly right.

Sorry if that's a little jumbled i stopped to play a game but in that game i had someone that dodged like 10 of my hits tell ggwp and that got me thinking, most of the time when someone t bags in the game they go down shortly after. Now im not trying to say you're mad (with as dedicated as you are i should hope not) but it would seem to me the most toxic survivors are normally also the ones making mistakes often. Maybe that's why they have so much salt and go long anti killer rants because they're losing all the time. Food for thought, and for dessert i got a little challenge for you. Im only rank 10 as survivor but i don't play it nearly as often, but because of the way the pips work i know that i could get to rank 1. I feel like that gives me authority to critique the power balance or as you put it "be a whiny killer main"

Since you seem dedicated to the idea that killers are OP and survivors are helpless to stop them why don't you gain that same authority by reaching rank one as killer. I mean a lot of people probably write you off as a salty survivor main ranting but they couldn't do that if you proved that you equally experience both sides ?

How many I win as killer depends on which killer I play. But generally (this is a ballpark number) I can win about 3 out of 5 games as killer at the lower ranks (I do not play high ranks). By "Win" I define that as killing 3 or more survivors. I consider 2 kills a "draw" and not a "win."

Not sure what that has to do with anything, but that's how it looks when I play killer.

Also I have never personally attacked you per se. I attack whiny killer mains with a victim complex. Not you personally. If you felt you were being attacked it's because you were affected by the arguments I make.

I do agree that the whiny people tend to be the ones who make mistakes. In fact, you know someone made a mistake when they post about it here on this board. People complaining about something usually is a clear indicator that they just lost to it. And I myself admit this. I'm not god survivor I get stomped all the time.

Also I have never once said that killers are OP. That's simply your bias interpreting everything I say with a killer-hating slant simply because I'm a survivor main.

If you actually read what I say I have never once said Killers are OP. And in fact I'm more of a centrist and I fight against extremists who think too much one side or the other.

People who say "Killers are weak Survivors are the Power Role Killers only win if Survivors make mistakes" qualify in my view as extremists who are just too killer-sided and not seeing the game as a whole.

  • I am not proving why survivor has a higher skillcap with that statement. I am simply arguing against your position.

This is why survivors have a higher skill cap IMO, it's my very first post in this topic. Feel free to debate it.

Of course Survivor has a higher skill cap.

Survivor has more moving parts. There are four of them, after all. Individually killer has a higher skill cap. But since there are four survivors, survivor has a higher skill cap because it includes team play and not just individual play.

Team play = more choices and possibilities. More choices means higher skill cap.

"finite resources" is never true for survivors,

they keep their stuff when they win unlike killers lmfao.

and for rank 1 swf with 4 toolbox? ez wins most of the time,

the toolbox is almost infinite at that level.

Not to mention we just had 2 bloodhunt back to back.

Killers get tons more BP per game than survivors. Killers have way more resources than survivors, so it's a wash at best. Especially since the survival rate is well below 50%.

Further, stuff like BNP are CONSUMED ON USE so you don't keep it whether you survivor or not.

I reject your argument. Try again.

And "outlier is fine" statement? lol,

Nurse getting nerf is based on the fact that shes a outlier, quoting from devs,

spirit is being "look at" also because dev think shes a outlier,

but when swf toolbox game being an "outlier", that is fine.

    SURE.

Nurse using Omegablink is an outlier. As in, used in maybe .01% of games? (I made that number up). A full SWF Commando Squad with Engineer Toolkits and BNP is an even rarer outlier. .001% of games maybe. That is fine.

I am saying an outlier that is very rarely played is not a big issue.

But Nurse herself is an "outlier" in terms of performance (which is why she was nerfed) but not an outlier in terms of how much she is played (which is the nuance of my post). Nurse is played in maybe 5% of all games? (I don't know just made that statistic up).

Don't confuse the nuances of the word "outlier" when trying to make an argument.

Understand what is being said so you don't make nonsense arguments.

I also love how you completely ignore the Survivor part of the argument (4-man Commando BNP) and just focus on the killer outliers. Very unbiased, yes.

    I'm your polar opposite.

I hated Freddy before it was cool to hate Freddy.

I just don't like being unable to see him before I'm found, and I dislike being unable to juke him after I'm found.

On top of that she still has a fatigue ??? who ever is the developer that did this really needs to step away from the balance team cause there horrible.

Right now nurse is 100% unfun slowest killer, 3 negatives for using power, add-on depended now, (mainly cool-down) no fun

The fatigue is not on top of the 6 second cooldown. The cooldown starts when the fatigue starts.

  • Not sure. If every survivor is sporting an engineer toolkit with BNPs and manual genrush and they play perfectly and killer is unlucky it might not be counterable.

And that's fine. That kind of game is an outlier and uses rare, finite resources. It might still have been counterable by Omega Blink nurse anyway back in the day before the nerf. And nobody plays perfectly all the time.

I've been in games where two or three survivors used BNP and we still got 4K'd.

Many survivors believe Omega Blink nurse can't be countered. There are nurse players here who stated empathically that they have never lost running Omega Blink Nurse. And quite a few survivors who have said they have never won against Omega Blink Nurse.

Again, outliers and uses finite resources. That's fine every now and then.

Pathetic classic survivors - they can dish it out but little toddlers can take it better than they can! Still would be nice if there was a mechanic that punished both of them for their bad manners.

    No.

Just because you're butthurt from survivors taunting you at the gates, doesn't mean the exit gate should be turned into a death trap.

If the survivors got to the exit gates that's on you as a killer. Deal with it. I've also seen cocky survivors get smashed right at the gates by killers with an unexpected move like a Tombstone fragment or something. You get what's coming to you in this game.

I say that because that is what you said. You said you've never seen a killer get genrushed. You said that any killer who has get genrushed was a bad player. Therefore, deduction means that you don't believe a killer who was good could ever be genrushed. And that you base this solely on your own experience, the experience of others is inconsequential.

"Do you think you have sen every permutation of the game?"

-no, I dont, couldn't possibly have. Therefore, when other people say they have, and especially if they can back it up with something tangible that I can also see, I believe it. Without "sour grapes"-ing the experience.

And I'm still trying to figure out what you mean with that unit of work analogy earlier. I think you might have the math wrong.

I never said killers never get genrushed.

    Like I said, stop strawmanning.

Killers who get genrushed are killers who got outplayed by their opponent. I have never said that a good killer can never be genrushed. I even state in the lengthy post you completely ignored that a lot of it is luck-based.

I will agree that sometimes a killer cannot exert enough map pressure. But that isn't just something solely dependent on survivor mistakes. It's also dependent on killer mistakes and killer playing well, and also a bit of luck. If you're patrolling the wrong place you didn't "make a mistake" you just got unlucky, but it definitely counts against you and makes it easier to gen rush. Ditto for survivors.

Not sure where you're getting all these strawmans.

Like I said, you are not interested in an intelligent discussion. You are just putting words in my mouth and arguing what you want as it fits your narrative.

Seriously dude. Stop talking to me if you're not going to take this seriously.

-no, I dont, couldn't possibly have. Therefore, when other people say they have, and especially if they can back it up with something tangible that I can also see, I believe it. Without "sour grapes"-ing the experience.

Look. You are saying other people have seen every permutation of the game and they state with confidence that the Killer is weak and cannot counter genrush. Who exactly are the people who say they know everything about this game? Tell me, bring them here, and I will refute them. All you are doing is Appealing to Authority (another fallacy like the Strawman). You are not giving me any actual arguments to sway my opinion.

But I am telling you there are streamers out there who can counter genrush. There is actual video evidence of it.

As for the Unit of Work, here is the Cliffnotes version:

    • Killers are the Power Role
    • Everything a killer does is more impactful than what a survivor does
    • Ergo, playing killer is not necessarily more skillful than playing a survivor, even if its' a 4v1.

  • AFK as killer is technically bannable but I doubt anyone reports it. Most survivors just take the free bloodpoints and go.

Did you play on the PTB beforehand? Because I've been no-lifing the game and just hit tier 25 today.

    Did not play on PTB.

I will say that I started Day 1 at Rank 13. Apparently the game was tracking your XP from a couple of weeks before the patch hit (I read something to that effect in the Patch Notes). I started a thread about it last week. Since I no life DBD I'm not surprised I got to level 13 just from XP alone.

It took me one day to get from Rank 13 to Rank 25, but finishing all Survivor tome tasks (did not do Killer).

But I stopped No-Lifing DBD after Day 1, patch is abhorrent, been playing other games in the meantime. I haven't touched DBD since Day 1 of the Rift.

  • Matchmaking was never fixed, so it can't be ruined.

  • Fair enough, but the perk just needs to be buffed or reworked somehow. If it's not supposed to be stealthy why are you not leaking blood? Real men ignore bleeding. It's just a flesh wound. There is something wrong with it conceptually and mechanically.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Do you think you have seen every permutation of the game? What percent of total games that you've played compare to the vast amount of games of DbD that exist, and how confident do you have to be that your experience (and memory of that experience) is universal?

"Killers can never be gen rushed because I haven't ever seen a killer get gen rushed who didn't deserve it" isn't good enough for me.

There's actually the possibility that a killer can lose the genrush to 3 people working on gens while constantly chasing a different fourth. And I believe it because I don't believe in only what I've experienced.

Do you think you have sen every permutation of the game?

Why don't you answer that before I say anything further.

What you're saying isn't good enough for me either.

"Killers can never be gen rushed because I haven't ever seen a killer get gen rushed who didn't deserve it" isn't good enough for me.

Now who's doing strawmans? Don't accuse me of doing strawmans and throwing in your own.

  • @anarchy753 said:

No Mither is intended as hard mode. It's MEANT to be difficult to play with, not have every synergistic perk built in for free.

It does not need Iron Will completely built in, and it does not need Unbreakable built in. If you want those effects with it, use those perks.

Buffing No Mither is bad for both sides. From the killer side, it's a cockiness perk. It's always someone running it who wants to rub it in your face that they can play with it, meanwhile they spend the match hiding in the corner because they actually can't. It doesn't need built in stealth mechanics more than it has already to allow them to play more safely with it.

On the survivor side is SUUUUUUCKS to have a No Mithiot on your team. They die exceptionally fast and make the game difficult for you, and they'll never do anything even slightly risky as they don't have the healthy state as a cushion.

If No Mither is buffed, it should not be in ways that affect the match. Bonus bloodpoints would be a good change, in survival or boldness, since both are what you're risking most. Removing the injured music is also a change that should happen as it really has no bearing on the match either.

TLDR: If you want to run the Hard Mode perk, run what you want with it, don't expect everything to be built into it to hold your hand.

To be honest No Mither should have Iron Will built in. "No Mither" literally means "No Moaning."

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

The biggest thing for me about No Mither is that it's meant to be an anti-slugging perk but it has only a downside, in reality. If you see that someone had No Mither as killer, you down them and immediately go to hook them. I don't think that there's any simple buff that they could give to make the perk at all viable.

The simple buff is that you don't start wounded. You start healthy, but have the Broken Status once injured so you never heal, but it's a special status that doesn't show to the killer, so he doesn't know you have No Mither.

But it's not something that will ever be done, I'm sure.

They should just remove the anti-slug aspect of No Mither and put that on Unbreakable instead, and rework No Mither into something else to be honest. Keeping in line that you are always injured, but giving a suitable upside to it.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

@Mochan "Genrush can be prevented by smart killer play. "

How can you speak with such certainty that the possibility that genrush can't ever not be stopped? You have stated yourself that you haven't experienced every level of killer gameplay, so how can you be so certain that you're correct?

Just on the offnote, what's the fastest all 5 gens can be done?

How can you speak with such certainty that genrush cannot be stopped?

Do you play at the highest level and never make mistakes?

I'll tell you how I can tell that genrush can indeed be stopped. I see it done all the time by killer streamers who stomp survivors at Rank 1. Some of them even do it without perks! If these streamers didn't exist I might accept your thesis. But since they do, I refute your assertion that genrush cannot be stopped.

Moving the goalposts. I've found a flaw in your logic. You're changing the premise to fit your own goal.

"So you believe that killers are weaker than survivors, and killers can only win if survivors make mistakes?"

This is called "strawmanning." You're deliberately misrepresenting me to make it easier to attack.

I think killer is harder simply because you must be aware of 4 people, not 1 person with the possible (and in higher ranks, probable) 3 other people who will be helping them. You have to succeed at doing that more than 4 other people. You have to do that better than 4 people. All you have is you, and "take this power with you."

And on a personal note: I respect the OPs opinion. I do not personally believe it, but it's OKAY for him to have it. I'm OKAY with him not having the same opinion as me. And everyone here. We're should ALL be good with that. So we can talk about Unpopular Opinions on here without our toys getting taken away by the grown-ups.

And now because you've read this far, Drag Leatherface:

    https://i.pinimg.com/originals/36/d0/64/36d064397667656c7b8a3b62d555f388.jpg

Fair enough. Ignoring the strawman statement, let's focus back on the OP's discussion and your revised statement.

"Killer must be aware of 4 people, not just 1 person. You have to succeed at doing that more than 4 other people. You have to do that better than 4 people."

I agree. BUT and this is where I take a lot of exception: that is balanced out by the Killer Being the Power Role.

The killer has to do the work of four people, but the killer is significantly more powerful than any single survivor. That is the crux of asymmetric game design like this.

If the killer isn't the power role, it breaks because it doesn't work. The player on the 1-side of the 4v1 has to have a more powerful role. And that is absolutely the case in DBD.

    Your argument is basically saying:

    • The killer needs to do more than four times the work of the survivor.
    • In other words, the killer does more work than the survivor.
    • Ergo, because the killer does more work than the survivor, the killer requires more skill.

That is basically the crux of your argument.

But this is a false equivalence. We can see this if we break down the work in "units." Survivors each need to say 100 units of work. But a killer by your argument is doing 400 units of work. This makes it look like the killer is doing a lot more.

But here's the counter argument: Because the killer is the power role, one unit of work for a killer does a lot more than one unit of work for a survivor. In other words, each unit of work he does is amplified and not equal to one unit of work of a survivor. Just a theoretical number, but each unit of work a killer does is worth 4 units of survivor.

I don't know if that's the right number, this is just theoretical. But the point is, the killer isn't necessarily doing "more work." That is because he is the stronger role. Thus, I refute you saying that the killer takes more skill just because he is doing "more work."

I've been seeing a lot of Ghostfaces, Mikey, Billy is even played less than Nurse from my own experiences.

You're right dude i got hung up on you chewing me out about being a stupid killer main who doesn't play survivor....on my topic about playing survivor. But that's just my bias because im a killer main? Because...well i don't need to explain it Its obvious to everyone here i don't play survivor, any post i make about survivor is to throw people off the fact that i only play killer and want survivors to defenseless so i can get a 4k every game!

I mean honestly, i think they should buff legion. That tells you how much of a degenerate killer main i am right there and deserve all the insults you throw at me

I apologize if you felt insulted, but if you were affected it means my words hit home. If they didn't apply to you you wouldn't be so affected.

But I stand by what I said. Killers need to stop acting like victims and own their gameplay. If you are affected by that it means you are part of the problem and honestly believe that killers are weak and can only win if survivors make mistakes. (This seriously isn't true)

Didn't they removed hitting the survivor on hook?

I don't see it happening myself. But I've seen some people say they still do it to stop the survivor screams, so apparently it's still in. Like I said, if killers do it to me I still finish my scream and don't quiet up. Not really sure what's the case.

  • I have played against a decent amount of nurses since the patch.

Less than before, but she is not extinct. Yet.

That may change in a few more weeks as more people get tired of playing Nurse.

  • I think Demo is more on the weaker side. And I believe the killer community believes the same.

When he was new lots of people were playing him. But after the novelty faded and they unlocked his teachables he is practically extinct. People either don't find him enjoyable to play as or think he is weak.

I'm guessing a mix of both, but more on the latter. I get a Demogorgon maybe once in 50 games these days. Nobody is playing him. The ones who did, are probably playing Freddy instead. Freddy is basically Demogorgon but better in every way.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/816589#Comment_816589

Survivor is the power position lol, even in my first games as survivor i was winning back to back. And honestly the only times i really struggle are in games with stealth killers because i don't pay attention and they cut out the strongest part of survivor play, looping.

And you can you do something against gen rushing, its called ruin. That's about it. Gen rushing is a weird topic because its literally the only objective as survivor, i don't know what people expect us to do, just walk around? When i lose as killer its normally because gens were done incredibly fast but if anything its more justification to gen rush because the longer you're in the game the stronger killers become so why would you ignore your one objective in order to allow the killer to snowball?

So I was right on the money, huh? I knew you believed those things. Didn't take rocket science to figure that out.

Naturally in your first survivor games you were winning back to back. You played tons of killer before you even touched survivor. You were no newb when you started playing survivors. A lot of skills from both sides are transferrable. If you were good as killer you know survivor pathing and killer pathing, and understand how killer plays. So it's a lot easier for you to avoid killers as survivor, even if you never played survivor.

My first killer game I 4K'd the poor Rank 20 survivors I was paired up against, because I played tons of Survivor before hand. I was even whiffing a lot of my shots but they could never escape me because I knew exactly where they were running. And I was using Nurse at the time and was getting hit by fatigue a lot. They still couldn't escape me even if I walked slower.

Gen rush is prevented not just by ruin. The real way to prevent genrush is map pressure. If you exert enough pressure, gens don't get done. If the survivor got unlucky and were right in the path of the killer's patrol they are going to have a vastly different game from if the killer were patrolling somewhere else. Luck is a real thing in this game, like it or not.

What I am against is this victim mentality that killers have that they can only win if the survivors make mistakes. It's ridiculous. Why keep playing then, if the game is out of your control? It's silly. A game where your input doesn't matter isn't a game worth playing.

It also belies a certain arrogance. Basically, a killer who believes, "Killer only wins if survivor makes mistakes," is basically saying, "I never make mistakes, I only lose because the survivors didn't make mistakes." And that's just ridiculous. Everybody makes mistakes. Maybe the reason you lost, was because you made a mistake, not because the other didn't make any?

Genrush can be prevented by smart killer play. Tons of Red Rank killers and streamers prove this. Even if you need to bring out the best killers (Nurse) it is still true.

  • From my experience it doesn't matter what level Calm Spirit is, if you have it you are not screaming, period. That's how it was several months ago, don't know if any recent patches have changed that.

As Liruliniel said they nerfed Calm Spirit? So maybe it changed.

I feel that if the Rift grind isn't changed in some significant way by the time Tome II rolls out, we're going to experience burnout throughout a big chunk of the player-base (aside from complete casuals).

Maybe it's just me, but I've personally stopped caring about actually surviving the game/killing the survivors and just making the match go on long enough to obtain the max xp for the match. I've also seen a lot of other players having the same mentality as well (Killers afking, survivors hiding instead of doing generators at red ranks, etc).

    Anyone else feeling the burn?

    It's the opposite for me.

The Rift update is giving me lots of DBD Downtime. Since the performance is terrible I feel like playing the game a lot less than I did before the patch.

I been playing a lot more Overwatch and Killing Floor instead. No way I'm getting burned out. I also finished everything I want to do in Level 1 in one day. Since the event is pretty much a non-event there's no real incentive to keep playing, the game is the same and there are no unique mechanics. So there's no need real incentive to play it as much as you can, while you can.

I hit Tier 23 on Day 1 of the patch. I don't feel pressured to play any further on Level 1 when we have 60 days left and 3 more levels to wait for. I am certain I can hit my goals when Level 2, 3 and 4 hit. I only need to reach Tier 43? Or whatever it was that has the last Putrid Serum. It looks extremely doable to me. I don't need to reach Tier 70.

Can I see some of your red rank killer gameplay?

You're the exception then. There are always exceptions to the rule.

So you believe that killers are weaker than survivors, and killers can only win if survivors make mistakes?

Do you believe that if survivors play the perfect game, the killer cannot win. But if killers play the perfect game, they cannot win unless survivors make mistakes?

For the record, I don't play red rank killer. I never reach that. But it's irrelevant. You are free to argue it is, just say it: You think my opinion doesn't matter because I'm not good enough at the game. Go on. I know you want to make that argument.

You know I've seen you post a few times complaining about killers and going on rants, which is fine it's really common actually, but you know you'd look less silly if you didn't combine your rants with "YOU'RE A BIASED KILLER MAIN"

especially when what i said doesn't line up with what you're ranting about. Killers are OP right and can kill you no matter if you make a mistake or not right....so why would me saying the opposite make me "a whiny victim saying killers are powerless" ?

ALSO good time to bring up the fact I was "warned" for saying i don't play PC because it's full ot racist ######### and it was considered "attacking another player" apparently

The widespread belief that "killers can only kill if survivors make mistakes" is pretty common among killer mains, for starters. And it's always accompanied by rhetoric like, "Survivors are the Power Role" and "Survivors can genrush in 4 minutes and you cannot do anything about it as killer no matter if you play perfectly."

If you do not believe in those last two ideas I'd be pleasantly surprised. Prove me wrong and tell me you don't agree with them.

You need tier three calm spirit for it to guarantee you don’t scream.

Actually know. The higher tier in Calm Spirit only affects birds.

You never scream period even with Calm Spirit level one.

Or did they change this? I haven't used Calm Spirit in ages.

  • The hook bubble is also unnecessary, but the devs keep it in because they want it to obscure vision. Likewise, I'm sure hook screaming is something they want in the game to distract you.

It's actually pretty good that for killers you can whack survivors to stop it. Did you know that if you whack the survivor the survivor himself still hears the scream all the way to the end? Funny that.

  • Depipping is hard if you play normally and have a decent amount of skill. You actually have to be throwing games and running meme junk if you want to really depip.

That said, I tend to hover around Purple and not get stuck in Red. You're just playing at a level where Red is your natural rank.

  • Likewise, people who actually believe the opposite play more killer than survivor.

  • We all been asking for this for a long time.

Maybe some day BHVR will actually give it to us.

It took me no time at all, but i played a lot of killer before ever touching survivor. I think it mostly comes down to game sense but your reasoning for "killer does better in low rank" is because is killer largely is based off mistakes survivors make. Low rank survivors tend to make a lot of mistakes and just run from killers in a straight line. Higher and mid ranks where both sides are experienced, survivors tend to have the advantage over most killers.

I don't know where this "Killer relies on Survivor Mistakes" nonsense came from. Some idiot streamer every killer idolizes no doubt. It's so popular and every killer totes it like gospel, but it's nonsense.

Both parties rely on the other making mistakes. Anybody who actually plays survivor without bias knows that if the killer makes mistakes in tracking that's when they can stay hidden. And it's the same in many other aspects of the game.

There's a reason why survivors can stomp low skill killers. It's because low skill killers make mistakes. Same survivors will go up against a higher skill killer and get smashed. That's because that killer made less mistakes.

So sick of whiny killers with a victim complex who think they are so weak and powerless, that they can only win if survivors make mistakes. Grow up you guys and take ownership of your game play.

  • Of course Survivor has a higher skill cap.

Survivor has more moving parts. There are four of them, after all. Individually killer has a higher skill cap. But since there are four survivors, survivor has a higher skill cap because it includes team play and not just individual play.

Team play = more choices and possibilities. More choices means higher skill cap.

I didn't say anything about that, because, as far as I can tell judging by my own experience, genrush hardly ever happens at low ranks and noed is almost never used at high ranks. And because ds is also much more common at high ranks. You seem like an experienced player, so I think you know what I'm talking about, unless we've got completely different experiences with the game; like killers usually running noed at high ranks and survivors genrushing and ds being much more common at lower ranks.

Well your experience doesn't jive with mine and a ton of other players.

Genrush happens at most ranks, and NoEd is used at all ranks. And teams do genrush at various ranks and get hit with NoEd when they do. This is an indisputable truth, whether you deny it in your experience.

It is a fact that Survivors who genrush and neglect do all the totems get punished by NoEd. This happens in the game. This has happened many times to me, and it has happened countless times to others who play this game. If you need evidence, just do a search for NoEd here and you'll see the hundreds of posts complaining about NoEd.

And it's irrelevant what rank it happens at. It happens. So Survivors do get punished for being too optimal, just like Killers.

  • From your story, I don't see how you were being punished?

Also why did you turn the post from some weird "I am being punished for being bad at the game" rant into a "killers are all getting nerfed" rant?

  • @hinoutoumei said:

The only ones who actually "own" this game are those who bought physical copies of xbox, ps4 or switch. still waiting for the day they change the way digital ownership works :(

Well technically NOBODY owns the game because like many online games today it's a "Games as a Service" meaning you don't actually own the game, you are just paying for the privilege to play it while it's around. This isn't like Counterstrike 1.6 where you could host your own games without needing to bother anyone else.

This game will not work without BHVR in the background because it needs servers and matchmaking. You don't even have any saved games all the saved games are up there in BHVR's cloud.

NONE of us own the game. Only BHVR owns it, and we simply are given the privilege of playing it by paying for it, one way or another.

If BHVR goes under or decides to stop supporting the game, the game disappears and none of us can do anything about it, because we don't actually own the game.

Are you not? I pip as survivor almost every game rather i win or lose. Also no ed isn't a fair comparison because DS only punishes you for killing too fast, while no ed will activate no matter how fast you do gens....which also fits your bias more so im not sure why you brought it up.

Anyway DS lasts too long but the concept of it is so you don't tunnel a survivor to death which is a healthy thing for the game. It's dumb when EVERYONE has it but what can you do...well you could slug but thats boring

Well, sorry, we're not all genius survivors like you.

I hate to break it to you, but you are an amazing, exceptional, outstanding player and everything you do is perfect. The normal rules don't apply to you, you are the anomaly that breaks everything. So of course even if you die a minute into the game you still pip, because you're that amazing.

Now if you can't see why I brought up NoEd, that's YOUR BIAS. I brought it up because the OP was talking about how DS punishes killers who kill too fast.

He brought up a perk that punishes killers for killing too fast.

I bring up a perk that punishes survivors for repairing gens too fast.

And YES if you do gens too fast you get hit by NoEd because that means nobody went and cleaned the totems. This isn't rocket science. Surely such an obvious thing didn't go over your head?

Judging by how fast survivors try to make gens (some of them don't even bother healing) I don't think they care about bp as much as they care about "stomping the killer" or simply getting out of there as fast as possible.

I don't think it's the same thing at all because of what I just said and because that punishment would be a post game punishment that doesn't affect the outcome of what you are trying to achieve; get out as fast as you can.

Okay, so how about you not ignore the part where I said Survivors are also punished if they do gens too fast by NoED?

Or is too inconvenient for the narrative you're trying to tell, and you have no answer for it?

  • Survivors also get punished for being too optimal.

You're not getting pips or BP if you are stomping the killer. It's the exact same thing.

If you want to argue DS punishes killer for killing too fast, then NoEd punishes survivors for gening too fast.

    Get over it.

  • There are only two perks that can help you find gens indoors. They are Detectives Hunch and Deja Vu.

I don't recommend either. Better to just get used to running around the map.

Exit gates, just hug the walls til you get out.

If you are desperate use the Map item to help you find your way.

  • There's no way we're getting a proper winter event.

We'll just have reused music and assets from last year, a bunch of skins, and a blood hunt.

I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but it's just not happening.

You can do whatever you want. If you are not stalking as ghostface, wraith is better. No cooldown on the power, can't be broken out of the power, way way better add-ons for an M1 killer (shadow dance + serpent + brutal strength gets pallet breaks down to like ~.3 seconds if I recall), and gets sloppy butcher as an add-on so you can basically run 5 perks instead of 4. You get the exact same ambush hits at the gens if you are good.

First off, Wraith can be broken out of his power. It's called a flashlight.

Second, Wraith has a delay as he goes out of his power before he can attack. This is huge and gives survivors a precious window to avoid the sneak attack and find a safe spot.

Saying Ghost Face is a bad wraith is foolish and disingenuous.

  • Immersion doesn't need a buff. Stealth and juking needs a buff.

I still think No MIther should have the ability : "You leave no scratch marks."

  • Spirit has a learning curve but the learning curve is a lot lower than Nurse or even Billy. It's a lot easier to get effective with Spirit than most any other killer mechanically.

Beyond that you just need to get better at tracking and prediction -- which is a universal skill for all killers.

Bad killer players can be countered by anyone, and even good players on good killers can be countered if they are outplayed. I once ran a good decked-out Nurse wearing premium skins around for a couple of minutes until two gens were done at the end of the game. Exit gate powers and I manage to juke her because her attention got distracted by the Exit Gates, and dodge NoEd, which hits my friendly survivor teammate who tried to open a gate.

She was by no means a bad nurse, I was just in the zone at the time and made all the correct mindgaming decisions and she made all the wrong ones. It was a string of luck more than anything else, I never managed to do the same feat again against a nurse for that long; it was one of those highly improbably things that came together for that game.
