Use to play only killer then around end of year 1 I started playing a ton of survivor. Now I play both but I still prefer the role of killer because potato teammates can be far to common.
Current killer I "main" is Hag.
Current survivor I "main" is Feng because she has ALL the perks unlocked. Working on getting Claudette all the perk and she is getting close.

I'll just be here with my 30fps PS4...

Grab animation will start then it just does a normal swing.

It makes sense, since a snowballing killer with blood echo could keep everyone permanently exhausted otherwise. I wonder if it would pair well with mindbreaker, to keep them exhausted longer.
Still not worth running though.
You know who else is permanently exhausted? People who don't run exhaustion perks and we do just fine.

Just played 5 straight 4k games with trapper without using any add-ons. 2 games no generators were completed. 2 games 2 generators were completed and 1 game 1 generator was completed.
I did use Ruin.
Killer mains will complain, but this just goes to show how unbalanced the game is..
Not fun to play 50% of the time as a survivor. Not difficult enough to play 50% of the time as a killer.
Yes I get that taking Ruin off would make the game more interesting, but at the same time, when the goal is to kill all of the survivors, why would I want to allow them any more advantage?
Look guys my 5 games show how easy the game as a whole is. Don't worry if I fail to tell you what rank it was or provide any actual proof of the matches, just trust that my extensive testing has proven this game is a joke.

It would definitely be very interesting to see, although I doubt it would stop people from questioning the stats. I'm not very good at Hillbilly (only play one game with him every now and then ever since mid 2016), so naturally my stats are going to be lower than the average. That doesn't mean that the stats are wrong, that just means that I'm not as good as other Hillbilly players.
Would love personal stats because of this reason. If I see that I'm not measuring up to the "average" billy players then I can safely assume I'm the problem and not the game.

Yup I was testing the "search 5 chests" rift to see if opening the chest then closing it then opening it, etc etc would count as 5 and it did.

I know this, but these stats are often used as the reasons for why they make decisions in regard to the game. They stated Spirit was over performing. And she is getting nerfed because of it. But why aren't killer getting buffs based on under performing then? Why was nurse nerfed, and especially so hard. People thought her add ons where the problem, so they changed those, and made her base power far far worse.
The problem is that these stats are not clearly explained to the community and so people take this "data" to one extreme or the other without really looking at what was conveyed to us. Basically this data shows nothing with balance because its too vague. I honestly wish this wasn't released because you now have people screaming "survivors where right!!!" or "this killer is OP!!!" when in reality no conclusion can be made from these graphs.

Why doesn't BHVR add ingame comms? It's a feature in most other competitive games, and even some multiplayer PvE games. Adding the comms would allow solos and SWFs to be on a more level playing field as well, letting BHVR balance the game around comms too (since Killers won't have that kind of advantage). Only reason I can think of that they haven't done it yet is a technical issue on their end.
Can't wait to hear all that toxic end game messaging now in full volume screaming!
Can't wait to be called all kinds of racial slurs for making a play someone else didn't approve of!
Can't wait to "opt out" of voice comms only to have the forums be flooded with posts complaining about people opting out of voice comms!
In case it wasn't obvious I hate this idea.

I agree that they work hard , but I and I'm sure many many other console players would like to be given the same love as PC players. We aren't even getting DC penalties , only PC is.
One of the biggest things console players seem to forget (I play DBD on PS4 myself) is that BHVR cannot make big changes to console DBD without first going through Sony (PS4) or Mirosoft (XBOX). For this reason it takes longer for us to get things AND these things have to be approved. BHVR already had PC and console DLC be realsed at the same time (something that wasn't a thing before) and has been trying to make the game run smoother. While I agree I would like to see more done for console players in this regard it is incorrect to say BHVR doesn't care about us or that they are not trying to help us.

There are 17 killers (I think) in Dead by Daylight currently (if you let me include The Oni, who isn't officially out yet, but still) and only 3 have their own unique chase music. Myers with the Halloween theme, Demogorgon with some Stranger Things theme, and The Oni with some intense Japanese beat. While the others (Trapper, Wraith, Billy, Nurse, Huntress, Hag, Doctor, Leather Face, Freddy, Pig, Spirit, Legion, Plague, Clown, and Ghost Face) have to settle with the default chase music.
Don't get me wrong, I like the chase music, but I really expected unique chase music for the following killers:
Doctor- Trippy electric sounding
Leather Face, Freddy, and Pig- The movies these licensed killers came with had a soundtrack that could have been altered into chase music
Legion- Edgy punk rock
Clown- It 100% should have and SHOULD be the circus theme but made into something creepier (and I know y'all can do it! Remember that Christmas event with altered Sleigh Bells song?)
Ghost Face- Throughout all 4 Scream films when someone, mainly a female, is being chased there is music accompanied by that. Which fits PERFECT with Dead by Daylight!
Considering this is a "new" demand from the players and that Myers and Demo-goodboy are licensed killers (so why wouldn't you milk that music allowance) I see it highly unlikely they won't release unique music for all killers in the future.
My concern isn't when will the music be released but how. I do not want these music tracks being locked behind the Battle Pass or being sold in the shop. I'm also a very pessimistic person so hopefully my worries prove fruitless, but we will see.

You're probably right about the toxicity, but I don't think that their is much else that can be done to bridge the gap between solos and SWF.
As someone who prefer playing survivor solo I don't want it to be on par. Maybe I'm in the minority but the game is mindnumingly easy unless you get potato teammates, but even then you can secure a pip very easily and still get hatch.
When I play killer my games are either a fun challenge or a 1 way stomp (survivors beating me). Mind you this is at high ranks not low ranks where the games are a joke.
When I play survivor (solo) I often listne to music or watch YouTube as the matches as 90% chill. Sure this is simply my personal experience but with how much free stuff solo survivor is being given its driving me away from playing the role. Sure it can be fun to play the odd SWF game and completely stomp a killer (I typically let myself be hooked after the gate is opened because I know the pain of having this happen) but I don't enjoy feeling so powerfull as a solo.
I really wish DBD had the player base and queue times to handle a proper ranked/casual gamemode split. Right now its casual till red ranks (or troll SWF) then red ranks become a toss up of fun or SWF...

A 50% kill rate would be balanced. Meaning half your games are 4ks, half are 0k. Or, 2ks per game. Instead not a single killer is at 50%. All are above 60. And the highest, most complained about killers are in the 75% range. Is this not crystal clear now why survivors complain about OP killers? And now imagine if we had detail that showed 4 solos vs 4 man swfs. I’d reckon it looks even worse for solos. Probably 80-85% or worse. This game is heavily skewed toward killers.
75%!! This is a full 25% higher than it should be. And people wonder why survivors like to derank... it’s because the game is more balanced when higher level survivors play lower level killers. Thanks for releasing these stats Behaviour. I’m vindicated.
Sigh...people see broad stats and jump to conclusions....
1: This "data" does not break down builds/moris/DC/3 or 2 or 1 man games due to DC/hook suicide, all of which can skew this data.
2: A 50% kill ratio is not balanced because the emblem system punishes you for not getting a 4k in high ranks. Kill ratio is not a means to balance this game.

Lately due to nurse nerf and stuff taking place I decided I'd try the survivor side more as I simply wasn't in the mood to get tbagged, flashlighted, etc. By survivors the whole time.
I've come to understand though that solo survivors have it way harder than killers but not for the reasons you might think.
Never have I had a problem with killers other than maybe clown and doctor though that's probably because I just never really played survivor prior to this. The real problem with solo's are the fellow survivors.
Survivors are the shotcallers of the whole game not killers. They determine wether a game will be fun or not for both sides. Never have I ever had a community more toxic than the dead by daylight community and it's time the devs adress this.
I play survivor to get away from toxic SWF's just to be tbagged when I'm hooked and they spam unhook the whole time then escape via hatch. I unhook someone but get downed in the process and see 3 of them just run out the gate. On purpose missing skillchecks, not doing gens, leading killers to me with bond/empathy,... The list goes on and on and on. How is this a fun experience when there are no consequences to being toxic?
Hatch imo is the most common instigator for behaviour like this so I'd advice maybe putting a treshold on it so people need to earn points for it to open just like you have emblems. They are forced to do something during the game or they simply don't get hatch.
Ps: sorry for the long rant.
I play 99% solo when playing as survivor and I honestly preffer it over SWF. When I do rarely play with my friend (the only one who still plays DBD every so often) the matches are so damn easy. As a solo player the biggist issue I have are the horrible teammates but for the most part I can ignore them and just focus on getting my "pip points" so I can get to purple/red ranks where bad teammates are still somewhat useful.
Maybe I'm in the minority here but I much prefer not having all the information of where a killer is/totem locations/gens in progress/pallet broken/who is being chasses/etc etc and figuring that stuff out on my own. Playing solo and still contributing to the teams success takes more skill and provides me with way more fun than a "play by play" on comms.

There's a difference between meta and useful. For example, Autodidact isn't meta but it can still be useful, you might not always get it to work but (at least in my opinion) it's worth using outside of meme builds and can make a big difference. Another example is Tenacity, while it's on the lower side of the usefulness scale and might be outclassed by Unbreakable, it can be very handy if the killer decides to slug and then you're gone from the area by the time they get back, when you wouldn't have had enough time to recover with Unbreakable, and you can get in a better position for revival without losing recovery time.
I'm talking about perks like Monstrous Shrine that do next to nothing and will only make a significant difference less than 1% of the time and the rest of the time it's basically a wasted slot. There aren't as many perks like this as there used to be since they are fixing a few with each chapter but there are still some floating around
Monsterous shrine is a bad example as it was one of the first perks to be created when DBD was first released. Due to this the team/person who created the perk had no concept of current day mechanics/balance/builds to work from. Monstrous Shrine does not suffer from bad design due to the perk being horrible but rather due to it being outdated, much like Trapper.

I believe that if in game comms were given to survivors, then the game could possibly be balanced around the idea that survivors will be able to communicate with each other.
I really disagree with the "Nerf this, Nerf that" mentality that I see people having. I personally would rather some things be slightly over tuned rather then them being under tuned or completely gutted.
BHVR has already taken a firm stance on not adding voice comms and I strongly agree with them.
First off given how toxic people are in this game (not all but many) comms would just be full of screaming insults/racial slurs or people blaring background music.
Second if the option to "opt out" of voice comms was available I believe many would do so therfor comms made no differeance and either you have people confused as to who is/isn't on comms or people jumping to the forums to complain about people not on comms.

I think the issue is that players would still be able to enter with good perks. That's not really hardcore mode.
Hardcore mode would be absolutely no early warning type perks like Spine Chill. In addition hardcore mode would be limited to the three unique perks on each survivor. That way the killer would know looking at the characters what perks they might have.
Same applies for killers, only the three unique perks they start with. So if they are not using Leatherface they dont get to use BBQ and Chilli and so on.
No items.
No offerings.
Open to anyone. Not just lower ranks.
Could be cool if they had all the perks available and each survivor took turns picking 1 perk at a time until everything was selected. (still only 4 perks per person but you choose 1 perk then player 2 chooses then player 3 etc until everyone has 4)
No duplicate perks in the match and you will need to sort of work out who should take what.

Two words.
TUNNEL VISION.
Now I don't mean "tunneling" in the standard DBD terminology. Tunneling is when you go after a survivor that was just rescue from a hook. While this is part of the statement made above, I'm not explicitly talking about this.
What I mean when I say "tunnel vision" is that the killer will NEVER let up in a chase. Whoever they find first they will chase until they catch them. Doesn't matter if it is 5 seconds or 5 minutes. The killer will NEVER drop the chase to go after someone else, with the rare exception that they can instantly catch that other person (eg. they see you jump into a locker, they will ditch the chase to grab you out of a locker).
But in terms of their play style, these are the types of killers that simply cannot accept that they might not catch a particular survivor. They refuse to just let someone go in order to pressure gens or find a weaker target. Hence the phrase "tunnel vision".
I'd like to mention this is only the typical behavior of NOED killers. It is not always going to be the case, as I myself have used NOED on occasion but I will not just chase someone all game. However, if the killer in question uses NOED often, they will do this pretty much every time. It's to a point where I can pretty consistently call out if the killer has NOED or not long before the last gen pops.
So if you find yourself in an endless chase, expect NOED at the end of the game. Take out all the totems and the killer will be clearly seen panicking when gates are powered, probably because most survivors will just rush gens while their one friend gets chased and thus NOED will proc often for these killers.
So if I want survivors to think I have NOED then I need to commit to chases, got it!
-

Um, camping and tunneling are legit strategies, I don’t know where you got the idea that they’re illegal. Just because it makes survivors butthurt doesn’t make it illegal.
Yup the moment I read "They play legally" I had to stop reading. I mean this this doesn't surprise me as we see far to many toxic terms/people but it really ruins credibility at that point.

You mean they didn't click on the "leave match" option?
I just had a game last night where at the "end game screen" nothing popped up and instead my killer was just running endlessly in the fog as I waited for the score screen...nothing ever came. I was forced to close application and restart the game only to find out it counted as a DC. Until we have stable servers or the ability to separate these types of DCs I think a 1 day lockout would be harsh for a game mode.
Edit: Didn't want it to sound like I was just hating on you. I would love to have a hardcore/casual play split (assuming the player base and queue times could handle it) and I'm not against your idea, even if I don't agree with the balance/DC "1 day" thing.

Honestly there are so many perks in this game that I wonder "who the ######### approved this idea and thought people would actually want to use it" I guess they can't always be creative, but they could at least try to not make perks that are near-useless. Like poor old Monstrous Shrine, untouched since 2016
Well bad or non-meta perks can also lead to some fun gimmick builds and help people learn play-styles. If all the perks were super powerful then we would have very limited build testing/tinkering and things would get really stale.
I find "meta" game play stale as it is and often use uncommon perks to have some fun. I've grown very fond of Alert even though its far from a meta perk or a very good one.

A rank 10 killer could end up going against a SWF with 2 rank 1s and 2 rank 20s. That killer will likely be looped for most of the game by the rank 1s. It isn't fair for the killer and it isn't helpful to the rank 20s as they won't be getting better by going against a killer that is clearly better than them.
The problem is that the game was created without a SWF option and once they introduced SWF they never planned for the huge imbalance it can create. I do not however think that you should punish people for wanting to play with their friends. While I personally prefer to play solo I understand the appeal many have with SWF, and the game needs to desperately work towards finding a proper balance. I do not think what you suggest would be the right direction as it would turn away a large amoutn of the player base (SWF players).
Where I struggle to follow BHVRs mindset on the whole "we need to fix solo players to be on par with SWFs so we can balance killer around them" is the fact that they are currently nerfing killers even though we are far from an achieved SWF balance. If your plan is to raise one side up so you can have the other fall in line then why are you actively changing both? It seems counter-productive.
-
Game is a 4v1 yet people get mad when they cannot 1v1 counter everything easily. I hate hearing the argument of "well its impossible to do all the totems when playing solo" because I play 99% solo as survivor and can do just fine.
-In low ranks NOED never procs because your team is dead and you either did all the work only to die or get a hatch escape.
-You have a perk that literally finds totems for you if NOED is as rampant as you claim.
-Totem spots (while getting a little better in SOME spots) are easily memorized so you can just check the locations.
If you have to break all 5 totems by yourself then your team failed you and you shouldn't blame the killer because your teammates cannot do another objective.
Another argument I hear is "well we shouldn't be punished because we did gens fast and the killer was getting dominated" if that is how you truly feel then please explain why Hatch spawning is "ok"? I'll agree NOED can take a less skilled killer player and boost their potential (same as hatch escapes) but if you did totems them you would not have had the issue, unlike the hatch that cannot be stopped unless a killer slugs for 4k.
-
ugh I don't want to read through all these messages....OwO a picture!

Do you guys change up the way you play at all when it's obvious you're playing with a swf group? I used to just play the way I normally would, but that generally turns into being chased at some point - not that I'm against being chased because that's obviously part of the game. It's just that swf groups don't save the solo players as often if I do end up getting hooked. In addition to that, they usually gen rush. So I don't feel bad partially ignoring objectives considering 9/10 times 2-3 gens are gonna be running in the first five minutes of the match... And it's really just not fun to breeze through matches that fast.
I've decided I'll start out and repair one generator, and if 2-3 get popped almost instantly I'm gonna run around sabotaging hooks, looting chests, and cleansing totems and saving people when I get the chance. Last few games I've ended up with a ton of bp's, some new items, and most of the time at least 3 of us making it out. Keeps me alive because the killer patrols gens while I'm on hooks, chests, or totems, and keeps my teammates alive since the killer sometimes can't find a hook in time. All while not allowing the match to end so fast that it's not even enjoyable.
So, what do you guys do?
If I know I'm in a SWF group then I typically won't go for the save since I know someone else is most likely waiting around the damn hook anyway. My games typically stay the same with me being the gen jockey and trying to save people after the gates are opened.
When I play killer if I (and its sometimes very obvious) notice a SWF group not taking care of a solo survivor I will not kill the solo (I'll still chase and hit as to not make it obvious) and focus on killing the SWF instead.
