Fortunately I do that alot when playing Bubba. Ppl think they're clever to run in a locker to avoid my saw, only to get yanked when they try getting out.

omg how can i finish this challenge as a solo survivor? it's impossible to touch 4 gens and get all of them repaired as a solo survivor. i need to have luck and maybe get a farm killer. even there its difficult to get 4 gens lol.
reduce challenge to max 3 gens, already that is enough hard.
Maybe I was one of the lucky ones but I did this challenge on my very first attempt (PS4) on a rank 6 game against a Freddy.
I do not know if this challenge is difficult because I just used Bond to make sure I was always working on a generator that had someone else on it.

Agreed. While I mostly run into survivors who DC and ruin the game for their team and myself (either side) I can imagine it will be nice to know that a killer DC is not going to just screw over the survivors now.
Well that is assuming we get console bans soon-ish.

I want to make an argument for 2 Chapters a year.
The problem i see with 4 chapters a year is that the chapters create problems faster than problems get fixed. The known issue section of the patch notes is preaty much an admition "We know these problems are there but we didn´t have the time to fix them before release.". If we ever get a new killer that needs as much change as legion or freddy were screwed.
It´s also old content that stays behind.
After the doctor killer letherface will be changed in some way then there is probably clown and maybe trapper. then there a map reworks, perks like slipery meat and monsterus shrine and bug fixes. then theres hillbilly, letherface, huntress which need there addon adjusted to the rarety formular.
These are a lot of things that wait to get done to be squeezed between chapters who can create more problems.
I know at some point behaviar said that the wouldn´t skip a chapter to work on old stuff which disapointes me a bit but were got 20 survivors, 18 killers, over 4 pages of perks and a ton of maps, i think going down to 2 chapters per year for the health of the game would be resonable
I would be wholly on board for only 2 chapters a year as it would let the new content "sink in" longer and allow BHVR to make better informed decisions towards balance and changes. While these "paragraphs" could still be sprinkled in anytime BHVR manages to snipe a deal or wishes a fun surprise.
At the end of the day I am glad that they are finally taking a break from events to focus on fixes but I really wish they would take more time to REALLY fine toon things before release. BHVR has a questionable track record when it comes to bug/breaking things each major release/update. I don't know the inner workings and have never done coding myself so I cannot speak to the complexities they face but I think the majority of players want the game to fix its foundations so as to realize its full potential.
I may have a love/hate relationship with the game and some of the directions its gone in the past but I'm not about to quit outright. This is a journey I still wish to see to its end.

I thought that too, and on the same grounds - that lobby dodging wasn't that big a problem, so overall it was a net positive. However, I'm a bit torn now, because while I personally enjoyed the feature because it helped me to design a useful build and have appropriate expectations about how much I could rely on my teammates during the game, the amount of people I've seen on the forums complaining that they can't dodge new players now makes me think that maybe the devs had the right idea. They do have access to data that we don't, after all (like lobby dodging rates).
I just deleted a 3 paragraph response because in the end it honestly didn't matter.
I enjoyed this "bug" for the same reasons you and Az mentioned and wish/hope BHVR can seriously consider bringing it back.

Will the default shock cone be getting a change? As it sits now the base shock is awfully small and (while not forced) it is pretty close to mandatory for the 25% add-on to be used if shocking is your gameplan.

But with this DC timeout it's becoming a meta for killer, I don't mind getting slugged when the killer is playing fair the whole match and they need the 4K with 2 people left. But some killers just don't want survivors to play the game at all, usually slug 2 people at the start.
It doesn't matter what the game does there will be people on both sides that want to simply ruin the fun of others. Its only grown due to the generally toxic views this community has garnered. Toxic people are drawn by toxic people and the cycle will always exist.

instead of Dcing survivors will just insta-die on hook. GJ behavior, you just made them take a few extra seconds to leave the game. on the plus side, at least I will get more sacrifice points
Except it does help. Sure the problem won't be fully cured but now we have a tool to stop some of the flow and a path forward to addressing another avenue.
You don't ignore a solution at your disposal simply because it doesn't fix everything. Use what you have and work towards a better fix.

I had a game yesterday where I spawned in, patrolled 3 gens, found someone, M1'd into a bottle toss into another M1, almost a perfect down right in the first minute of the game.
Boom, gen done. They had 2 toolboxes, a BNP, and prove thyself.
Foolishly I played nice, left the hook, found someone else in under 20-30 seconds, and the chase didn't last more than 20-30 seconds either. Boom, second gen done.
So at that rate, of 1 gen per down, when these chases are lasting under ~30 seconds, and that isn't good enough to win. There is literally nothing else a killer can do except camp and tunnel.
Game ends in 5m with gens flying and its the killers fault for not applying pressure.
Game ends with everyone dead in 5m and its the killers fault for slugging or tunneling.
Game ends in 20m with everyone having been hooked twice before any single person dies and its getting nerfed because no one wants to play against THOSE add-ons!
Basically you cannot please anyone as killer so slug away if you wish.
-
This issue is that BHVR has shown in the past they want to "balance" around average players and not organized/top players meaning a change to gen speed would hurt weaker players in contrast to where they want the game.
Do I agree the game should be balanced for the average player? No.
You balance for the top players because people can always get better and the better players should be getting into the higher ranks meaning the average players don't have to worry about them. Problem here is ranking and balance are both off from this equilibrium right now.

It was because people were using the feature as an excuse to dodge lobbies, which is something the devs wanted to discourage.
The issue here is that people will find any excuse to dodge a lobby if that was their intent. The ability to see rank seems like a very popular thing people enjoy and want (despite BHVR claiming it was being abused) so why not let it stay as a feature and not a bug to see how it affects the game after a few weeks.

What would your perks be if you were taken by the fog?
Pessimistic - Your ability to find the negative in even the most positive of situations is astounding at best. People tend to avoid your "doom and gloom" nature. You gain 100% bloodpoints in the self loathing category.
Anti-athleticism - You have never enjoyed physical activity and are quick to accept your fate when being chased. While in a chase you do not run and may sometimes provoke a feeling of pity from the Killer, no matter how fleeting.
Easily corrupt - You have a knack for finding the easy path to your goals. Why settle for crappy teammates when you can be the one swinging that machete? You are 100% more likely to join the match as a killer.

I would be surprised if they didn't do anything at all for Christmas this year, but historically Christmas has been pretty small in DBD. We don't usually have events, per se, just redecorated assets like fairy lights on the hooks, presents instead of mystery boxes in the bloodwebs, and maybe a seasonal bloodhunt. It's a bit early still to conclude that nothing is going to happen, though. For all we know, they could be planning to announce something today, or maybe by the end of this week.
Not to bust peoples bubbles but didn't they say "no more events for a while" because they wanted to focus on fixing core issues.
Either I missed something or everyone just suddenly forgot.

Is there a speed glitch on PS4? I just ran into a Survivor that I could not catch up to, and I was bloodlust 3. I've never had that happen before, she gained so much distance it was impossible.
I'm assuming a bug. A few weeks back I had a Tapp player that never ran out of the Sprint Burst speed boost. Even as a running Legion I could not catch him.
In his defense he seemed just as confused as I was and let himself be killed, even messaging me that he didn't understand what was happening. I have only had that one such incident since that match so (at least for me) its a bug that must require some specific circumstances.
I mentioned this in another thread and the common response I got was that it seems loosely linked to hitting someone at the same time the boost triggers.

-The Plague's vile purge is useless
-No Mither prevents baby Claudettes from wasting time healing you against The Legion
-The Oni's demon strike only does one health state
-The exposed status effect is pointless, which weakens or nullifies Myers, Ghostface, Redhead's Pinky Finger, NOED, Make Your Choice, Devour Hope, Iron Maiden, and probably a ton of other things I'm forgetting
Basically, in its current form, No Mither counters half of killers and their perks. I suggest the devs find some way to nerf No Mither and get rid of these grossly powerful and presumably unintended benefits by making you not be injured the entire game or something like that.
No Mither - You start the trial in a healthy state able to be healed as normal.

I think the ranking system should be looked at in general; I find too many bad players from both sides at red ranks.
Depends on your view of a win.
Should the game be balanced around the idea that kills=a win or should it be balanced around hitting points in the 4 categories in the emblem system?
BHVR needs to decide this so they can set a define path for the community and clear up the debate around balance.

The last really special Killer is Legion.
Plague - pretty much Huntress and (or) infinite tier III Myers.
Ghost Face - no words needed.
Demo - son of Huntress and Freddy/Hag.
Oni - hybrid of Hillbilly and Myers.
Its hard to call them weak or unfipun, but no originality... meeh.
I have to disagree with Plague being like Huntress and Demo-goodboy being like Hag/Freddy on the basis that they bring more to the table that give them a unique identity.
If you are to compare Plague and Huntress as the same simply because each have a projectile then no other ranged killer can ever be added without getting grouped up.
-Huntress hatchets are a ranged attack that deals damage with near-unlimited range (provided no obstacle) , simple and straight to the point.
-Plagues vomit is limited in range, causes broken status (doesn't actually deal damage) and spreads a new mechanics with sickness that lingers on objects infecting others. She also bring in a new mechanic with the fountains/cleansing. There are no similarities aside from both having a ranged attack.
As for Plague being like tier 3 Myers that too is also not true. Plague does not posses an insta down ability like Myers and anyone affected by sickness can cleanse to full health state and instantly return to a 2 hit down. This is something you cannot do vs tier 3 Myers. By the logic that someone not cleansing vs Plague makes her similar to Myers one could argue deciding not to heal in general makes any killer comparable.
As for Demo-goodboy being like Hag/Freddy I must also disagree. While these three killers all have the ability to teleport each comes with a unique stipulation and alternate powers.
-Hag relies heavily on her traps for teleportation and pressure and thus can place them anywhere at anytime and teleport to any that get trigger at her will.
-Freddy can only teleport to generators that have not yet been completed and has a cooldown. His teleport allows for some map pressure but is often use to misdirect or "fake" movement unlike Hags much less restricted map pressure. Freddy also comes with abilities Hag and Demo-goodboy do not posses.
While Demo-goodboy can teleport using his portals he is limited to 6 (unless destroyed) and gains bonuses the others do not such as TR/stain suppression. Demo-goodboy cannot traverse the map with the same pressure Hag puts out and he does not have the ability to fake/misdirect like Freddy. While I agree this teleportation is a hybrid of the two to an extent (much like you say in the title in your thread) he brings to the table more than just his teleport. His shred ability grants him an extra tool for cutting loops short and adding danger to narrow spots.
I agree with Ghost Face being similar to Myers since there is no real difference in how his stalk works vs Myers. Myers tier 3 last 60 seconds and by default so does Ghost Face. Both are gathered by stalking survivors and much like Myers tire 3 causes everyone to become "exposed" so to does Ghost Faces stalk. He can even stalk everyone at once causing team wide exposed just like Myers.
Assuming Pig is the other comparison you may have made to Ghost Face (I assume as you did not list anyone) I wold argue that Pig is not defined by her ability to crouch but rather her traps. True both function the same with hiding your TR/Stain and I won't argue these are near identical but I don't see "crouching" as the mechanic that makes either of these killers who they are. So while I agree Ghost Face is a hybrid of Myers I would say the connection to Pig is slight.
Oni being compared to Hillbilly is indeed accurate (in my opinion as well). While Oni has the stipulation of first having to gather his power he brings little else to the table to separate his charge/insta vs Billy. Both function the same with Billy simply having the better of it with the freedom to use his inta down whenever he chooses. I have heard people say Oni has better movement than Billy but "drift king Billy" puts him almost perfectly on par with Oni. While aesthetically pleasing Oni lacks for creativity with his ability and has nothing else that defines him.
TLDR: I disagreed and agreed and gave reasons as to why, accept or don't "to each their own". (^.^)

Can you increase Bloodpoint gains overall by like....40% for a while?
I mean, we are spending about 40% of our time in queues because of the very very slow matchmaker, and it's slowing down everyone's ability to earn bloodpoints because of it. Can't we have gains increased for a while or something to compensate for how long we have to sit in queue to play one match?
Real quick but Rift is easy BP and an extra source we never had before. (Aside from weekly challenges....I miss you weekly...)
Now I will also add that I hate Rift because too many people don't play the match normally and instead smash their face against the wall to get their Rift objectives done.

I would never suggest buying anything on release, not just because of BHVRs questionable track record but due to the fact games like this will change for better or worst at some point.
As for this being a "bug" that was unintentional I say once more that this is a MAJOR reason why BHVR needs to spend more time testing before release. Each release brings about a onslaught of bugs (some reoccurring ones) that its actually getting difficult to separate "intentional change vs unintentional"...

Actually 180 vs "90" (I put this in quotes because I don't see many able to do it) is a huge difference.
I have never been hit with Oni's insta down on PS4 since his original release and I must have faced an Oni every second match. Now that his flick is so much smaller you can just walk to the left or right and dodge it, its a VERY noticeable difference.

Can't really vote for just 1 option.
-I give hatch when:
-I'm dominating and need one person to live and tell my story.
-The last person offers up an item as payment for their life (assuming I feel I hit that pip).
-The last person didn't wiggle and has accepted death.
-A DC occurred and yet the team still made a true attempt at playing.
I can easily tell someone on the survivors team is NOT at my rank and played poorly, so pity I guess.
-The person was lagging something fierce!
I do not give hatch when:
-I'm trying to hit rank 1 for the season (or just rank up in general).
-Someone on the team was being toxic (unless they were being toxic TO their teammates).

We're all equal in front of the Entity.
Joke aside, @Yamaoka has a pretty good point there.
Plus, like in every live game, metas are bound to change. The words ''Nerfs / buffs'' are very subjective depending on the person you will ask. See the debates this Community has over ''was this a nerf or a buff''. Players don't agree because players don't play the same way or use the tools that are given to them the same way, they don't even play for the same objectives and reasons!
Not everyone in the Community is aiming for the same thing when playing our game. Some want only to have fun, have an experience, some are more interested by the story, some want to min-max everything and perform. Knowing all this, how can we clearly state where these changes land? (ok some stuff is pretty clear, see Freddy but most smaller scale changes can reside in the grey zone)
Ultimately, there will be changes, that will never stop. Changes to the meta will allow new, different perks / strategy / power to emerge and become the new meta.
I think that if we want to grow as a Community, we need to start looking at the whole picture instead of locking ourselves in a never ending circle of ''Killer vs Survivor'' mindset.
The biggest issue with the divide from players (aside from survivor vs killer) is the fact that DBD has no definitive identity for what a "win" is.
To some the competitive nature of ranking up/getting a pip is their idea of winning and what they wish to see the game balanced around.
For others its getting 3/4 kills as killer or escaping as a survivor (I fall more into this category myself) and wish to see game balance reflect this.
Without a definitive identity to point where BHVR wants the game to go it splits these types of players up by default simply because each envisions a different game. While we can still be civil towards one another I do not see a middle ground that can appease both as casual/hardcore players cannot co-exist in one game-mode.
If the game had no ranking (at least not visible) and didn't score you based on different categories then it would clearly define kills/escapes as the "goal" to reach a win. However seeing your performance reviewed after a match makes it feel like you need to meet those point goals to win.
Which is it I need to aim for? I feel great getting a 4k but then I see "Entity displeased" after the match and I am confused/brought down. I only get 1-2 kills in a game but then see I got a pip and "Entity pleased" so I think I did ok?
What is BHVRs intended direction to take away as a win and what direction do they wish to push balance? There is no wrong answer as its your game and even a "hardcore" player can enjoy a more casual style if they know that's what the game is aiming for.
PS: I typed this up in a hurry on my lunch at work so my apologies if I missed a spelling error or my thought process didn't mesh well with my wording, little time to double check my work.

Dont get me wrong the game is not perfect but you start hearing "this killer is OP" this perk is weak, this feature is broken. Then you start making the game for the worst part of the community.
Look at data, take critique from content creators that use the game as a means of livelihood. And trust your gut devs.
Dont cater to the trolls, The salty babies that want the game easy and toxic. The ones that will never be happy and feel entitled to get there way everytime.
It matters not what form of communication the Devs decided to give us, trolls/toxic people would exist. You cannot silence people with civil behavior and good intent/criticism because you might allow the aforementioned in.
