I'm relentless. for example, I hooked someone right next to a gen which was almost done, so I camped there. someone saved them when i was right there and I got the person again and got the kill.
Now this person is messaging me trying to tell me that I'm a bad player but in my eyes I'm a good killer.
so what am i supposed to do now? let them escape? I'm a little annoyed about this to say the least...
As the killer you kill in any means you wish.
If you want to play "fair" and try to make the game enjoyable for all while trying to kill, go for it!
If you want to facecamp or hard tunnel someone simply because you feel its the fastest way to kill them, go for it!
As a killer YOU are the team and YOU can achieve your goals how you see fit.
Expect hate mail regardless of how you play because some people will even hate on you even when they win/escape.

Honestly wanted to say Bill and Claudette.
Bill has proven his loyalty to his friends in LFD series and Claudette seems very empathetic to others based on the little sprinkles of lore we have.
Now if we are talking in game then I say Claudette is a selfish little ######### and Bill is too busy running circles around a gen without doing anything useful.

Agreed. But like most games, console players will be at a disadvantage.
Depends. Console survivors vs PC survivor is basically identical. Console survivor can hug loops a little more smoothly.
Console killer vs PC killer is where the difference comes in. Due to poor frame rate and low sensitivity console suffers with specific killers that thrive on PC.
While I think PC would bring killers such as Nurse and Huntress to life on console (because they are 1 in a million right now) I don't see any huge advantage they would have on most of the roster.

Not to mention the hatch does close after 30 seconds, so it's not like the entire team will just know, unless it's a SWF
Depends on who is left. If its down to 2 people and one person opens the hatch then the hatch stays open and indicates to the other player that its opened because they are now the last alive in the trial.
Mori is a way for killer to finish a game quickly if they catch survivors.
Keys are a way for survivors to leave early if they do gens.
Both suck because they remove a large part of the match hurting everyone involved.

1) Oni is kind of like a Berserker?
2) A real Berserker would kill survivors just from touching them LOL.
3) Cole Train is too good to be a survivor. He'd kick the ish outta most killers IRL

Well I chose killers such as the nurse because of their potential. The nurse is difficult to master but you can apply a lot of pressure to survivors if you play her enough. Second I chose killers such as the plaque and oni because of their power to deal serious damage. So by annoying I meant annoying because of either serious potential or the amount of power each killer has. I chose freddy because of his ability to slow you down with dream world and his ability to teleport to gens. So I have found these killers annoying. There are many reasons that people call different killers annoying but you could just say they are annoying.
Oh I wasn't arguing with your list, to each their own after all. I just needed to explain that it was the old version of Freddy I found annoying not the new one.

I'm a dead by daylight mobile beta tester and I have purchased laurie strode with my auric cells for decisive strike. I've been thinking about getting a new killer next but I'm having a difficult time deciding between ghostface or the shape. What are the benefits of the two killers and what are your opinion on them? Which one should I get?
Myers has always been a "middle of the road" killer that doesn't do anything amazing or bad.
Ghostface has become a staple in creating the new "stealth hit/run" killer meta that is starting to take hold.
For the above reasons I will say that for a purely "I want to win/compete" mindset, it would be better to get Ghostface.
I personally still find Myers one of my favorite killers simply because of the fun gimmick builds he has. In my opinion Myers has the most diverse/fun add-on/perk builds, and is one of the few killers you will still find frightening when chasing you.
-
Ok I need to do a little explaining because 1: I'm not a "survivor main" I play both and 2: I do not mean the "new" Freddy but rather the old one. (I just didn't find anyone on this list annoying)
When I play survivor I play solo and as such often find myself the only one doing gens. For this reason I tend to play very stealthy (even at high ranks) and try to waste time by not being found near progressing generators while also applying enough pressure to gens. The old Freddy was horrible to play against for me because of his perfect stealth (could not be seen) and his "sleep" ability could simply be held down until it auto-procs on a survivor you may have never seen. This made it nearly impossible to hide from him and pretty easy for him to accidentally see you.
I honestly didn't find him difficult at all as he was a simple M1 killer but it forced me to get chased and often my teammates were not doing gens.

Oh don't worry I have made plenty of "micro-transactions" mistakes in the past, its honestly why I am much more reserved/pessimistic about making ANY purchases now.
Overwatch drained me of too much money when I was too naive to realize how much better spent my money could have been...

I bought it exclusively for Nemesis perk for some great (!) combos.
I don’t play Oni due to his “uniqueness” and “originality”. And he is literally an m1 Killer from the very start, it’s so funny to play m1 Killer for the majority of the trial. And you lose your ability while picking up, so you forced to slug - it’s not my tactic.
I didn’t even touch Yui, her perks are trash/too situational, and her voice actor is awful.
I will use shards to buy a character I want but never will I purchase a chapter until a few solid weeks after release in case anything gets nerfed into the ground. Not wasting my money if the "fun" I wanted to buy is instantly removed.

It would be nice if BHVR was able to open a rift in space-time and reality that could appear next to anyone who intentionally disconnected, sucking in not only the perpetrator but all surrounding structures (chair, desk, computer/console, house). At the same time this rift would drain the memory of that individual from the minds of everyone who ever knew them, including those who simple had a passing glance. This way not only is the individual being punished for the atrocity of Disconnecting from a match of DBD but they are being removed from history itself. Past, present and future (insert name of perpetrator) no longer exists. True the people who had the misfortune of playing with this individual will be unaware of the silent justice that just took place but maybe (if the fates are kind) we will feel a small comfort in our hearts that something has been made right.
So yeah @Peanits lets make it happen!

Exactly what I mean
I'm not sure what i said matches what I "quoted". In the situations above you may never have had a chance to use the perk and therefore you cannot determine the power of the perk.
My point is it would be difficult to determine if the perk actually had any effect on the match because it may have never been usable. So it isn't the perk that could be increasing/decreasing your suitability but the circumstances of the match itself.
-
I'm ready daddy Myers-san?

I would like to see this because there's no way DS actually lets you survive more.
I'm not sure how you would prove that. I could be running DS in a match where someone else DCs right off the bat.
I could have been 1 hooked and never had a chance to use it.
Maybe the killer had a Mori or is simply slugging to death.
Maybe I'm a potato who was afk all game or (and this last one fits me VERY well) I was the only one not getting chased and only get hooked at the end of the game where the perk does nothing (last survivor).
I feel it would be difficult because this game has such a large variance as to why player-X survived/died. Its also why I don't like the survive/kill stats we get now, they are far to vague as to perk builds/DC and you don't know if people where just messing around.

I think a way to help survivors who feel at a loss if the first person who gets downed DC's or if they are tunnelled they DC, is to have whenever a survivor DC's make it to where a random generator that is at 0% progression to completed, now if all Generators have been tapped or worked on then have the lowest progressed Generator be completed immediately. This would be great AFTER the new DC penalties are introduced, so it stops people from DCing if they are on death hook or something similar.
this just helps so that after they are introduced and about after a week of people realizing they cant rage quit or be punished, then this can be implemented as well to help the times where your at a huge disadvantage due to a survivor DCing.
Thoughts?
I'm sure its already been answered but such an idea could be so easily exploited. Also while I see your intent is to help the other 3/2/1 survivors who did not DC and are now put into a bad spot why is it ok to punish the killer who is also not at fault of that person(s) DCing?
People need to remember there are players on both sides of this game and whatever you do to one side will effect the other.

Give solo survivors much of the info SWF has and buff killers around it. How exactly it should be done is up for debate, but it needs to happen in some respect.
That is exactly what BHVR has said they intend to do (to whatever extent) however it seems counter intuitive to nerf killers along the way if your intent is to first set the game to SWF level of information.
Ugh...that's just my opinion but honestly balance threads are always a headache because everyone has a different idea of what they want the game to be and BHVRs direction seems incredibly inconsistent.

People are really being weird about other people playing with friends.
DBD has no identity when it comes to being a casual game or a ranked game. So if you go into the game expecting any skill level (casual) then yeah this isn't anything crazy.
If you go into the game expecting something ranked then you expect to be matched appropriately so to see someone who is ranked MUCH higher/lower than you really becomes frustrating.
Its due to this lack of identity that I feel so many people disagree with one another. How do you balance a game that that seems to be trying to be two different things at once?
-
As someone who plays 99% solo as survivor I can say the exact same thing about SWF players. I'm not taking a shot at you here but trying to point out that sadly many people lack awareness of what is happening during the match or have a different mindset than you.
Many people who play SWF will prioritize a friends safety over a random players safety even if in doing so they hurt the team as a whole, (not everyone mind you) and as a solo player you may feel more inclined to save your own hide vs someone else.
Basically my point is I don't really see a difference in solo vs SWF players (when it comes to good/bad team plays) as it all adds up to how aware they actually are during the match and what their specific mindset of "goals" actually entail. Experience also plays a big part as some people know their own limits far better than others and will take calculated risks more frequently.
-
If its your thing go for it, but I have never bought any form of "battle pass' from any game and do not intend to do so in the future.

Recently seen a lot of Wraith/Ghost Face (and some Pig) played recently at the higher ranks, and I'm not sure whether it's because of certain streamers/YouTubers promoting them or not. However, after playing around with these Killers myself, I have to agree that they are really good at combating the current way of how Survivors play - e.g. avoiding BT, being able to slug DS users because of this, etc.
Just wondering how long the stealth meta will go on for now as I can't really see BT or even DS getting nerfed anytime soon, and for as long as these perks stay as they are, so will the people that play Wraith, GF, Pig, etc. On one hand, it's great to see the usual three phased out recently, but on the other we have a "new" set of Killers to keep playing against instead.
I quite like seeing this honestly, but how long will it be before the meta changes again?
Spine Chill is the answer to stealth meta and once more people start using it we will see a decline in its effectiveness. I do not believe it will be destroyed but the "surprise hit" that is a staple of the playstyle will be difficult to pull off.

I feel like I always bump into someone using this perk for at least half my games.
I don't find them particularly frustrating, I'm just wondering why it's incredibly common. This perk doesn't strike me as something you'd want to use on your own. So I'd guess that most people who use it are in an SWF group.
SWF will use it a lot but also many players tend to run builds their favorite streamers are using. I do not watch many DBD streamers so I don't know if this is becoming a trend however this is my best guess.
Take Tru3 popularizing GhostFace "hit and run" tactics or the fact that Wraith is starting to gain popularity. Even when Noob3 started to really gain traction on DBD back in the day we saw a huge jump in Nea players.
These are just speculations.

Before you assume I'm an xyz main or whatever please read my whole argument. Not giving survivors comms as base kit is the most easily fixable aspect which would create a much more balanced environment for EVERYONE.
As a solo survivor the most stressful aspect of the game is not being able to communicate with your team, especially if you know they are SWF or everyone's just not being able to coordinate and instead of being fun games just become annoying and unfun.
When you're playing SWF and there's 1 or 2 randoms it's the same issue; it's almost impossible to communicate with people using our 2 available emotes.
And as a killer it's more than obvious that the most stressful part of the game is facing SWF teams, especially in high ranks.
Giving all survivors a way to communicate (walkie talkies, magical entity telepathy or whatever) would instantly breach the gap between solos and SWF and gives an opportunity for survs to have a more enjoyable and much less frustrating experience and to balance killers accordingly and apply the necessary buffs and changes to make every game an even playfield in which both sides have opportunities to win if they play correctly.
Now before you say we can't force people to use comms, I understand and I wouldn't want to make DBD a stressful experience for people with anxiety or who don't have mics to communicate. We don't even need to have literal voice chat or text (since it would be hard to use it while struggling for example), but a quick comms option similar to Overwatch and other team based games would massively increase the quality of solo survivor gameplay, and everyone else by consequence.
Devs said changes to Kindred are one of the ways they're trying to bring solos to the level of SWF but if anything they keep making it worse by proving they don't really understand the frustration of solo survs at the moment, and I can bet despite it being a decent buff its usage rate has not changed in the slightest. Why should we have to run Kindred just for a chance to survive while the 3 man squad can use that slot for DS, DH, etc without sacrificing team coordination?
I'd love to know what you guys think and if the devs have already said anything about this, but I have no doubt it would be a step in the right direction.
Edit: since I think I wasn't clear enough I DON'T think implementing voice comms would be the best option, and I meant Overwatch's voiceline wheel in which you can easily access a few useful phrases such as heal me, I'm repairing, etc.
Jake - Heal me
Claudette- Lets finish this gen first its at 80%
Jake- Heal me, Heal me, Heal me, I need healing, Heal me, Heal me, hea-
Claudette- Goddammit alright!
Jake- *Runs away* Heal me, heal me, hea-
Claudette- F this shi*! *DC*

Kindred is great as solo survivor dont get me wrong. But by using it you are at the risk of seeing some of the world's dumbest plays take place. I had a match in which a hillbilly camped someone in the basement and with kindred I knew exactly what was going on at all times. The situation ended with all three of my teammates getting downed in the basement and me giving up and letting the killer kill me (he slugged me bc he though I had ds)
Seriously the amount of times I've run kindred and saw my teammates run towards the killer is ridicoulus. Even when Im the one hooked and everyone sees the rest of the team my teammates still either all run towards me for the save or stay in the gens and let me die.
Overall, if you run kindred, you are risking getting extremely angry and salty at your teammates, not necesarilly becoming toxic, but being really mad at them
Kindred brings to light the meaning of "ignorance is bliss".

Can you please read ALL of the comments before you say anything.
I had stated that he was the last survivor alive..I was hooked in basement (someone came to get me) killer was camping with ins. I gave up on hook other player killed themselves on hook, the the time i actually died died and went to spectate a 3rd survivor was being hooked in the basement. which left only the dwight because the 3rd person also killed themselves on hook.
Yeah sorry, I don't read every comment before posting (this is a general sorry not sarcastic). To be fair I often skim many threads that have 6+ pages so the idea is often not appealing.
It doesn't seem the game was taken hostage then (going by you above post) as people were hooked and dying. If the game is being taken hostage it would mean there is no chance to end the match without DCing.
Example- getting forcefully body blocked in the basement without any means of escape (death or release) without the killer taking any action. Or a survivor (prior to EGC) refusing to get off a glitch spot where the killer cannot hit them and not leaving the match.
This seems more like extending the game length because the killer was after a specific goal. Again I do not argue that I'm sure the match was annoying but that is the fault of the rift not the players. As I said in my last comment I'm sure they had no fun hunting that challenge either, I know I have experienced plenty of matches going for challenges (both sides) that caused me more frustration than fun.

How do you hold 4 players hostage by limmiting yourself to only basement hooks? It seems to me like you would have had 20 "freaking" minutes to get eachother up and do gens or just let the basement hook happen. While I can agree the rift has made many matches very frustrating you cannot blame the player for trying to do a rift challenge that can so easily be negated by a single DC. The player in question did not design this challenge and just like many other people they are trying to get it done. I'm sure they had 0% enjoyment from that match too, and probably all other subsequent attempts.

About to reach 9000 iradescent shards again. My first choice was legion. Was really fun till I got to rank nine. So onto my new killer. Which one does those godly survivors have more problems with? Btw I also know if I had more skill any killer would do good. First forum post btw.
Depends on your perspective of what makes a killer desirable. Don you want a killer who performs well when played properly? Do you want a killer with cool aesthetics? Do you want a killer with fun lore or interesting power?
I can offer my opinion on the matter but as mentioned above you will need to decide what traits you're after.
-Spirit is a great killer if you want to stand a chance against top teams/players or simply wish to focus on ranking. She has a somewhat difficult learning curve if you are someone who typically plays by sight and not sound. While headphones are not needed to play Spirit they do wonders for her. Spirit has a fun power allowing you to use it for both map pressure and hard chase engagements. This killer will definitely make you feel like a powerful force rather than a fumbling plaything. Be warned you may see tons of DCing players.
-Oni is an interesting topic. I play PS4 and connot speak to PC where it seems he is viewed quite differently. I can say that on PS4 frames tank when you use his power "Demon Dash" (for both killer and survivors nearby). Sadly due to poor frame rate its a damn miracle if you ever land his ability as his "insta down" he can be dodged by simply moving left or right with more ease than a Billy chainsaw. While visually pleasing, this sexy hunk of demonic man doesn't measure up when it matters most. The character is still fun for the fact that you feel the weight of each step (much like Demo-goodboy) and you will feel like a truck built of muscle and testosterone, although this feeling will be fleeting vs a competent team who understands basic dodge/loop mechanics.
