A Way to help other survivors Escape if someone DC's

I think a way to help survivors who feel at a loss if the first person who gets downed DC's or if they are tunnelled they DC, is to have whenever a survivor DC's make it to where a random generator that is at 0% progression to completed, now if all Generators have been tapped or worked on then have the lowest progressed Generator be completed immediately. This would be great AFTER the new DC penalties are introduced, so it stops people from DCing if they are on death hook or something similar.

this just helps so that after they are introduced and about after a week of people realizing they cant rage quit or be punished, then this can be implemented as well to help the times where your at a huge disadvantage due to a survivor DCing.

  • Why is it a huge disadvantage for the survivor team when somebody dc's at death hook??

This could be easily abused: "I'm dead anyway - here mates, get a free gen!"

It would also be a "counter" to the 3-gen-scenario where the survs would only have to sacrifice one of them to solve their problem.

    Pretty much this.

Also the killer shouldn’t be punished because of another’s action IMO.

did you not read the part of after the dc penalty is added, this would make it so people dont dc due to being on death hook to help their team, and would have to wait a long time due to their stupidity.

im gonna assume you just read the title and nothing else.

I read everything you wrote. I don't get why you assume people wouldn't dc on death hook to help their team.

Also don't ignore other scenarios, like the 3-gen-setup.

  • No, neither should. A full gen worth of progress in a literal blink of an eye can be detrimental as a killer. Maybe reset of a couple pallets, but that at most.

ok but neither of these things would happen after the first week that DC penalties are implemented on all platforms due to people dcing and realizing they will be punished for DCing, maybe low ranks would alot more but they eventually would either not be able to play but once a day or they will learn their lesson and not DC.

also re-read this: this just helps so that after they are introduced and about after a week of people realizing they cant rage quit or be punished, then this can be implemented as well to help the times where your at a huge disadvantage due to a survivor DCing.

but a few pallets wont make a difference, if a survivor dced in the loading before match cancellations you would spawn with one less gen to do, and this helped me alot during that time

It wouldn't be "necessary" for survivors to abuse your idea of a dc compensation every match, but only when the situation "requires" it for tactical reasons.

It would be totally possible to dc once or twice per day without severe time punishment.

ok then maybe they could make a system that can detect if you dced on death hook, or late into the game and punish you longer, there are multiple solutions to your "situational 1/20 games" problems

  • going to bed, will reply to stuff in the morning (like 10 hours)

Rarely do I see a DC early in a match. It’s most likely going to happen late game, where it’s a close match. With a gen or two left, the killer would get cheated out of a win.

I'm sure its already been answered but such an idea could be so easily exploited. Also while I see your intent is to help the other 3/2/1 survivors who did not DC and are now put into a bad spot why is it ok to punish the killer who is also not at fault of that person(s) DCing?

People need to remember there are players on both sides of this game and whatever you do to one side will effect the other.

Whenever there are more than 3 gens, a dc will automatically complete one gen furthest from the killer and give 2 k bps for each category for each player

i would be ok with this, since if there is only 3 gens rememaining then that must mean its far along in the match to where they arent at as much of a disadvantage

If it was in the 1st minute of the match maybe, but I agree ppl would abuse the heck out of it otherwise.

I agree with all except that you think survivors need this to escape a 3 gen. All the survivors need is the killer to commit to chase, down, and hook someone.

  • Bad idea dc penalties will be enough.

  • What about Survivors who just suicide on first hook?

I did read what you said that’s way too far into the game to be fair. Which is why I said it would be fine if it was within the 1st minute of the match.

  • Nah. This would be unnecessary. All you need to do is if someone DC's, the game no longer counts towards pips, but all bloodpoint gains stay.
