  • NOED is the survivors fault for missing totems, trickster in of itself is just annoying to play against. plain and simple

  • alert as it’s an amazing tracking perk, and maybe to you it’s a meta but haunted grounds as they always seem to cleanse it at a good time for me

  • Rid of all of the survivor perks. Boom you wanna make it to a pallet and loop it well that’s too bad. If they can make it to a pallet with dead hard then kick the dam thing once it’s down then they’ll need to loop elsewhere. Is it really that difficult to do? You really do love complaining about easily countered perks this isn’t old dbd where you can recover from exhaustion while running as in they only have dead hard once every 40 seconds they ain’t running so it’s not that difficult to outplay

  • These perks all have counters, slug the ds user, you didn’t mention unbreakable so I’ll avoid it, wait for the dead hard and swing right after it’s use, or just swing anyways cause dead hard usually doesn't even work properly unless if you do it a bit early although it is nice for trappers traps, but then again he can just keep looping the trapped area as now the survivors exhausted, and they can’t do that again. Head on well it’s not that game changing to say the least.. This just sounds like you complaining about meta perks as most killers seem to do while they themselves run pop, ruin, noed, etc I mean is it really that bad? Not IMO. If you’re curious I’m a rank 5 survivor and 7 killer.

  • I think trapper is just fine the way he is. He’s a great snowball killer once it gets going. I bounce between purple and green in killer rank so yes I’m playing decent survivors.. I don’t wanna see him get reworked and turn into the next doctor. I was a doc main and then the rework came out and I hated it, still do as it just makes him too overpowered when I believe he was just fine where he was. Killers aren’t supposed to be easy so I think having a challenge playing trapper thinking you might lose the game but then it turning around is just fine IMO.

to all you PC players, doesn’t it get boring going against Nurses, Spirits, and huntresses constantly? Ever since cross-play that’s all I’ve been going against. Oh and yeah they’re sweaty... like coming out of a steam room sweaty.

Welcome to pc. I tend to play a little bit of every killer. Yea some more than others but I myself like variety and know it’s fun to go against something different for once aswell

I think everyone is missing the big picture on why dbd has such a problem and often people argue that its because of perks and yell out specific perks they hate

The problem with dbd is survivors and before you disagree with me please note that I am a survivor main and you should hear me out.

Survivors have no downside to them you can play any survivor without any penalty where that is different for killer, you can't play any killer and it be the same. Killers have different abilities which leads to different playstyles survivors don't you can play any survivor and run at the same speed etc needs to change

My suggestion: Completely rework survivor and remove teachables.

Survivors needs stats like killers, some survivors should be slower than others leaving them at a disadvantage but could have pros like more strength (by strength I mean throwing down a pallet faster and it stuns the killer for like 0.3 seconds longer)

Exhaustion needs to be base kit, there needs to be exhaustion you shouldn't be able to run across the map without stopping to catch breath and this gives killers like hag a chance in chases where you run a -5% slower if you run for to long

Teachables have always been a problem on the survivor side anyway and have continued to be a problem throughout the years. They honestly make a character less important since all you have to do is get someone to level 40 in the blood web then be done with them this can be done in a day. I propose they remove teachables as a whole and yes I'm aware that this can be argued with but I have an example

Say you wanna use dead hard but you also want to use decisive strike you can't anymore you'd have to play David for dead hard or Laurie for decisive strike.

I know there will be entitled players who won't like this idea but I think every survivor main realizes that killer has harder than survivor and something needs to be done other than reworking powers and perks.

yea I’d love to see the same 6 survivors over and over again because they have the best stats. this isn’t Mario kart.. It would be harder for killers as now they have to deal with all these meta perks flooding in at every rank. Rank 20s with ds, selfcare, unbreakable, dead hard, or adrenaline, etc, all in one, need I say more? sounds like a fun time for brand new killers.

I mean, of course I hate people who farm me even with BT or having to intentionally lose chase to make use of my perk that punishes the killer for attacking me within 60 seconds of being unhooked.

Again, BT teaches bad habits, and DS encourages you to intentionally lose a chase to use it. BT like most perks are crutches so of course that's gonna happen, but DS could be designed much better than it currently is to reduce the amount of aggressive behavior survivors emit when they have 60 seconds of hook invulnerability, and to increase the actual use in using it defensively. In other words, DS is better used currently to guarantee doing 75% of a generator, rather than spending that time running away from a killer, because if you run away, you don't get to use the perk.

id like to hear your idea of how ds should work to where its not making someone give up chase but rather to run away. one way i could think of it is theres a timer still but if you end up in chase again before it runs out the timer pauses and you're able to use it if you get knocked, (you loose it once picked up by another survivor from dying state) otherwise if you loose the killer it continues its timer and by then you're probably gonna be long gone and or healed

  • @[Deleted User] said:

From a survivor's perspective, I hate them because they reward survivors for playing badly and it teaches survivors bad manners. Borrowed Time is a good example of people not knowing how to actually make good saves. They just run in and unhook because that's what borrowed time taught them. And so when they meet a killer that counters this perk, like Freddy, well, they end up just farming their teammates a vast majority of the time.

Hell, to use Decisive Strike when being tunneled, you have to literally and intentionally lose the chase instead of running away like you should.

i believe bt and ds are fine. its a counter against tunnelers, campers, proxy or whatever you wanna call it it gives the survivor a chance to get away and not die within the first few mins of a match. its true that not everyone saves properly but if they know how to use and are running bt theyre gonna wait for a terror radius or till the killers far gone typically. and you dont have to necessarily lose the chase intentionally.. yea its on a timer but if it was like old ds then that would be a whole other argument. tbh it seems like you dont like bt as randoms who save you just screw you over and ds as the timer runs out just before u get knocked finally but its just whats gonna happen

  • dcing is annoying but sometimes it’s no worse than just letting yourself die on the hook. I dc because i spawn next to the huntress with iri head and get camped till death so why not dc and make her mad for not getting the full 4K and then next I get face camped by a Micheal after running him for 2 minutes to get hit over a pallet as expected, and I don’t feel he deserves the kill so I dc and now I’m sitting here for 15 more minutes because killers get triggered to easily or believe camping is the best strat. Watch me get banned now that would be the cherry ontop of it all. Dc penalties should exist but I believe if possible they should be looked at again. But hey I might as well just get hooked and kill myself cause it would probably be easier

  • @anburoshia said:

Are the devs married to hooks? If it's possible, I think it'd be really cool if hooks could change according to new killers. i.e. if the next killer is a murderous chef, could the hooks be giant boiling cauldrons? instead of sabotaging, players could blow out the fire, instead of hooking them, the killer could throw them in, and survs could pull each other out or try to escape but slip back in if they dont get the 4%. or if samara from the ring is next, the hooks could be tvs that she traps them in. survs could pull each other out and try to escape but get pushed back in.

instead of the entity coming from above, it could come from unde the cauldron and try to drown them or from the TV's background to try to drag them further into the tv?

idk if it'd be too much lol I'm just think out loud

I mean it would give the killer away though

  • @Masterkit said:

i dont have a main i like to play multiple killers, (plague, hag, myers, back in the day clown, and some others) but if i had to choose the one i like most would be Freddy, he is good in every asapect, good pressure, good slowdown and good 1 v 1. he is also quite easy to use.

Once you get Freddy down it’s an easy 3-4K. I main Freddy myself and love fake pallets and preforming mind games as him

    Legion.

What can I say. As a man of culture, Susie's thighs are great eye candy.

Other than that, Indo enjoy playing Legion regularly and it's my most played killer.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I’m still waiting for them to release a killer that can either fly/glide, or destroy vault locations (and loops), Pinhead or Alien (Xenomorph). Apart from those, I don’t really have a main aside from killers I play frequently. Oni, Demogorgon, Plague, Ghostface, Legion, Spirit...I’m just listing all the killers.

    Lmao wish you luck

  • @Flarefire_Xx said:

I will structure mine differently, I will do 1-18, 1 being my favourite and 18 being my least favourite

    1. Doctor
    2. Clown
    3. Hag
    4. Huntress
    5. Trapper
    6. Ghost face
    7. Spirit
    8. Nurse
    9. Mikey
    10. Wraith
    11. Billy
    12. Freddy
    13. Demo
    14. Oni
    15. Plague
    16. Legion
    17. Pig
    18. Bubba

Surprised Mikey’s so low. If you’re good with him it’s an easy 4K same with Freddy or atleast I believe so

  • @Warlock_2020 said:

Trapper - He is old school. He gives lots of scare moments through hi trap use. He can be very strategic if the player is willing to adapt. If my window traps are not working, maybe I'll trick you with both an obvious and not so obvious setup. I'll leave the window trap, but hide one in the grass nearby so you feel the window is safe after you disarm it.

I love watching people walk slowly through the grass while being paranoid of traps.

I just wish he got a boost by being able to carry one extra trap as base kit. He is way too slow in the beginning and it is nearly impossible to catch up vs a good SWF. You have zero room for error.

Doc and Piggy are my second with Shape and Fred a close third.

trapper is very fun to play especially when you’re good with traps. they think they’ve got the loop down but then end up in a trap lmao

Currently its Doctor since I love his new ability and makes finding survivors so much easier and fun. I used to play Myers alot since he's a top fav and love his peek a boo game. Don't play him or Huntress much anymore since the ruin nerf. Most other killers I barely touch since I'm tired of hearing 3 gens pop in the first 4 minutes of a game.

3 gens pop in first minute and a half*

  • @BloodyNights said:

Michael Myers, aka The Shape, aka The Boogeyman.

He is the reason I bought Dead by Daylight in the first place. I just have a lot of fun stalking survivors, and get a certain thrill of just watching a survivor and suddenly they are just scrambling for their lives like a chicken with their head cut off to try and not allow me to gain tiers in Evil Within. I also really enjoy the movie Halloween, it's my favorite horror movie of all time, and I watch it every Halloween.

I also play some Ghostface, Freddy, Demogorgon, and some Legion. Though I'm slowly thinking about learning to play Leatherface. Though I kind of wish the devs gave him, and maybe his add-ons a bit of a rework. He just feels really boring.

leatherface could use a rework as he’s pretty useless when it comes to ending loops...

  • @HorrorLover74 said:

Hard to choose a main for the killer, they are all fun. But if I would have to choose then it would between all the licensed killers for me they are all fun and I mean how cool is it to get chased by a horror movie icon!?

But sadly after 2 years of playing A year on Pc and now another on Xbox. I retired as a Killer main and uninstalled the game due it's current state.

Don’t blame you I’d do the same if I wasn’t so stubborn

  • @Morgeese said:

I'm currently rank 1 survivor rank 3 killer and heres what I think. Killer's need to monitor gens. If that means playing hit and run with sloppy then you do what you gotta do. If you devote enough time to a survivor chase to allow them to gen rush you thats your fault not the devs for taking an annoying perk like ruin and making it less annoying. I played a rr swf lobby today as freddy and they got all but 1 gen done because i read their playstyle individually and as a team. I knew i needed to not over commit to 2 of them and that the other 2 would hide for a sec when i checked a gen and wait for me to leave. It was a tough game but I won with skill not a crutch perk that they could've easily cleansed anyways.

Tbh I believe some killers do need old ruin like trapper maybe hag and leather face. Trapper needs time to set traps even with time add ons hag needs same but she has good mobility if there set off and well bubba is extremely slow to get around a big map like auto haven. Maybe I’m just “bad” but idk I play all 3 and I’ve noticed old ruin really helped out

  • @KingHEADBUSTER said:

This game is toxic because nobody wants to play killer, but they want to talk a lot of smack. if it forced players to play killer once every 10 Rounds as Survivor it wouldn't be as. Toxic and if you rage quit his killer your rage quitter lmao, but should have a 1hr penalty.

Sure this is gonna be perfect yep forcing people to play the opposite side they don’t wanna play in the first place will make the game better cause there totally gonna try and win the game as killer too right why am I wasting my time here

  • @DBD78 said:

Just played a game with rank 1 killer, all red rank survivors (rank 1,2,4) except a rank 20 survivor with one perk that missed ALL skill checks. That persons first game perhaps and got straight in to playing with pros. Idk what is happening anymore.

Lmao that’s a great way to start

  • @TooKoolFoU said:

a year or so ago the devs said:

    1) ”IN DECEMBER MATCHMAKING WILL BE IMPROVED”. Still not the case.

    2) “FPS on consoles and low end PCs will be improved to a CONSTANT 60 FPS by chapter 14”. Chapter 14 is here and there’s barely a difference, but at least it’s noticeable.

    3) “Dedicated servers will release Late Summer 2019”. That didn’t happen. It got delayed to “Late Fall 2019”. Guess what December 21st was? It was the first day of winter. It’s winter and 9 days left in 2019. You guys still haven’t mentioned anything on the servers as of lately. So that’s great.

YOU KNOW WHAT WE GOT IN 2019:

    1) Freddy doesn’t suck.

    2) Nurse sucks.

    3) More cosmetics?

    4) The best m1 killer to never do anything, The Plague

    5) The most unused killer in the game, The Demogorgon

    6) IMO a kind of boring killer for what the hype led up too, The Oni

    7) Japanese Nea (Yui)

    8) BUGSSSSS

    9) the rift. With more bugs.

    10) rift challenges that are overly try hard and situational. They suck the ever living titty milk out of your brain until you can’t process anything else other than what face camping, noed using, basement killers pupils look like. Or worse, 4man SWF trying time deplete 9 (reduced 3) keys.

    10) frames dropping on bloodlust is broken is a problem again for the 1000th time since 2017.

    11) the mostly dead dbd platform... the switch

    12) no real events since the Chinese New Years. The game can just stay stale asf forever now

I think 2019 really sucked for the most part in comparison to the 2018 year. It also didn’t really help the game much, honestly this year has only dedicated to improving the game, but such lack of improvements where they are most dire falls with consequences which personally felt like they hurt hard this year. The game did get a nice influx players due to the Netflix/StrangerThings agreement and Rift pass, but I feel as if the devs had slowed down the constant every 3+/- month release of a killer there would be more room to actually improve what has been promised. There are many variables that effect the game and it’s stability in all cases, so I don’t put all the burden on the devs. Praying for a good 2019.

EDIT: for those commenting on “Freddy doesn’t suck” and saying “no he’s great, that’s understatement and you’re being unreasonable”. I said he doesn’t suck. he sucked before. now he doesn’t. In what way does that statement sh*t on Freddy? If you wanted me to say he’s great, he’s not imo.

    Japanese Kate*

    no summer event

very broken delayed Halloween event they should've worked on it sooner but it at least came out unlike the next one. also really wasn't even an event as we just had to do the pass to get some serum and the nurse skin.

no winter event.. but we got the sweaters cause its very difficult to put in some lights on lockers & hooks. even a snowy background for the lobby would be just fine and just add the items back but oh well

tomes bringing camping, basement builds, excessive amounts of noed, etc

me not wanting to play the game but wanting to finish final challenges and get my 10 bucks worth

and the game being even more ridiculous with the hits over vaults and pallets. i finish either and am running away then it hits. or with pallets get the stun and start moving then get hit?

also no fix to ghost face reveal or at least none noticeable if anything. i get the reveal while running away looking in front of me or get reveal then exposed a second after. also teleported back after jumping off something cause why not

wouldn't be dbd without being very broken consistently

the devs still haven't fixed these problems or at least correctly and skipped out on events. what a great year

still play this game though idk why

  • @Lmronby said:

Excluding the Human killers that just have a bad attitude or mental illness (Legion, Pig, Michael Myers, Ghost face, Clown, Bubba), which killer would be easiest to Date? Like actually go out to a Restaurant and commit to a Date.

    this is lore not deviantart.

So, you want ruin deleted from lower ranks...because? You do realize even IF the devs did do that, you'd still have to go against ruin in higher ranks. So you're going to have to learn to deal with it sooner than later. I suppose higher ranks should remove adrenaline, yeah?

no he means higher ranks should remove perks in general. just make killers fly and survivors go underground while the killer has to dig to find them. perfect solution to this discussion

  • @Warlock_2020 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/941851#Comment_941851

You lack map awareness. If you are chasing one survivor for too long, you are losing map pressure. Never be afraid to dip out near a gen being worked on, or when survivor breaks line of sight. Slug a survivor that is near a gen that is close to being done. Move to that gen, kick it, pursue the survivor working on it. Now you have 3 survivors off gens. One laying on the ground, one moving to heal them, one being chased.

Map pressure is real. You have to pick your area of the map, you can't defend big ones with low movement killers. With Trapper, I isolate an area of the map that has 4-5 gens. I trap the tar out of it and keep pressure up. 90% of the time, it works out with a 3-4k. That 10%, when you get a really good group, likely SWF, you get owned. It happens. I can honestly say I probably hung on too long on some chases during those matches, or did not get creative with trap placement.

    It happens.

"map pressure". lmao why does this sound hilarious.. oh because it is. you cant pressure the map only the survivors. unless if you stand ontop of a map on the ground.

  • @anarchy753 said:

Devour Hope is really well balanced. Its effects from 3 onwards are obscenely strong and force the whole team into totem hunting mode which halts the game, and played right can lead to a really fast surprise mori.

Third Seal is arguably not. Blindness is highly overrated by the devs and most players won't even notice the effect except in cases of downed survivors. The only reason it's ok as a hex is because if it were a timed debuff it would be pathetic, and an everlasting debuff is just bad for the game, unless it were harder to apply.

Lullaby could not be a game-long effect. Have you seen anything below like rank 10 when that stacks up? It's just a cacophony of failed skill checks and people too scared to touch a gen. They also can't heal each other and it's just a free win if they can't find the totem. As it is it's very difficult to use against decent players as it never stacks up and they can usually play through it, but it would certainly not be balanced as a non-hex.

Not very balanced when running thrill devour haunted and ruin. Not fun when they go straight to the totem even if it means dropping a downed or leaving a chase

  • @senki527 said:

omg, as a solo survivor it's impossible to win a game with every match having Ruin on. This perk is absolute OP in the lower ranks. I'm in the ranks between 12-15 and every survivor struggles how to handle this perk + the survivors on this rank are too scared to look for the totem. for the killler this perk is = easy win in my ranks. pls delete this perk in the lower ranks or nerf it. it makes the game very unfun

thats kinda sad. its not that difficult to hit greats. just run stake out if its that difficult for you or bring a map

i bought it because i love wasting money. i just wanted to p3 all the characters and yui is one so i just bought them together cause why not. ill be taking this to my grave regretfully

It would be nice if BHVR was able to open a rift in space-time and reality that could appear next to anyone who intentionally disconnected, sucking in not only the perpetrator but all surrounding structures (chair, desk, computer/console, house). At the same time this rift would drain the memory of that individual from the minds of everyone who ever knew them, including those who simple had a passing glance. This way not only is the individual being punished for the atrocity of Disconnecting from a match of DBD but they are being removed from history itself. Past, present and future (insert name of perpetrator) no longer exists. True the people who had the misfortune of playing with this individual will be unaware of the silent justice that just took place but maybe (if the fates are kind) we will feel a small comfort in our hearts that something has been made right.

So yeah @Peanits lets make it happen!

sacrafice 13 survivors during egc while running no perks.

Idk, they put Unnerving Presence in a challenge that had as little to do with the Perk as possible.

yeah and the worst part is that

for me we finish all gens every 3 games and even if we finish no one will get downed and even if someone get downed your teammates left the gate at 99% so you will have to go and activate EGC and after you activate EGC someone will steal your unhook that challenge was HELL

I expect Predator would have something like: "Be in a chase for [VALUE] seconds using Predator."

Bloodhound would be: "Hit [VALUE] Survivors from Healthy to Injured using Bloodhound."

Shadowborn is a really good question though.

The best i can think of is: "Trigger [VALUE] chases using Shadowborn."

i see the same with monitor & abuse, territorial imperative, iron maiden, cruel limits etc

they might just exclude these perks?

  • @Nobsyde said:

I expect a more of the same as far as base challenges - do x generators, heal x survivors, use this or that item..

I hope there will be more challenges related to killer/survivors perks and maybe some using killer add-ons.

The real problem is that there is nothing much to do in DbD speaking about objective: survivors must do generators, heal, save, maybe cleanse totem, killers need to hook survivors. A Tome based around Wraith, for example, won't have much to work on - Predator, Shadowborn, Bloodhound... what can you do with those, aside for "kill 4 survivors using x perk"?

yea thats where i see the problem of new challenges because theres only so much to do. they will probably just add get 3 saves during egc while getting chased by pig on the game with a trap on your head

  • @[Deleted User] said:

well I don't care about any challenges as long as the challenge is not "rescue one survivor during the end game collapse" only satan will think this challenge is FUN for the people trying to get it

  • @Mrwood204 said:

I would assume they go through the free characters first before venturing into paid DLC for the tome challenges

yea id assume the same. if they do based off dlc perks i wouldn't doubt those appearing in the shrine more often before the next next tome of the 4 if you get what i mean

  • @TooKoolFoU said:

I have been trying all day, around 15 games or so, not all of them were DC's, some were just me not being able to get them all down there. (Crazy how much limiting yourself to one section of the map cripples you unless the survivors don't feel like living.)

Last 4 games in a row someone has DCed the second they see Iron Grasp/agi, unusually before a gens even done. In those games I just stopped playing and let them escape, but pretty soon im just going to DC along with them.

All I can do is just hope the next lobby has the potato survivors again.

i played trapper for this. agi monst shrine and ruin. got the survivors near killershack cause thats where basement was and then trapped the hell outta the area. i ran the green darkness add on forgot the name and a bag and wow they went down quick. they kept getting stuck in traps while chasing one and then i just proceeded to let them save one knock that person and the others still injured so go for them after and easy game. got lucky after days of trying i guess

Can I please get a game were I’m or somebody is not being tunneled to death?

Can I please have a causal game where everyone make points over 10k?

Can we please not “gen rush” a killer to make them feel like they have to tunnel?

If you really think tunneling is a strategy you really need to re-evaluate how you play this game. This is not a competitive game so please stop treating it like one.

    Both Survivors and Killers

    It’s not a playstyle it’s unhealthy gameplay.

Well some believe tunneling is a viable strat so it causes a gen rush on the side. But then there’s 3-4 escapes so idk why they feel the need to tunnel. When I play killer I know when I play survivor tunneling is annoying as hell so I try to go after someone else after unhooks and that as it gives the survivors more of a good time even if they all die. I may tunnel if there’s a gen rush as in there’s 3 done in less than 2 minutes so I can slow it down but that’s not often. Maybe someday more people will play similar but I doubt it I guess we just live on with the 5k bloodpoints games
