Yes and bodyblocking away from the hook should be not an option too.
It wasnt even allowed on the official tournament -

to me, a strategy is whatever works within the natural mechanics of the game. gen tapping, bodyblocking, camping, looping, tunneling, tbagging.... its all designed to achieve a goal. you decide what your strengths and weaknesses are and assemble a build to enhance or compensate accordingly.... i found what works for me. i do okay. even when i fall down, i get positive feedback from survivors often.... yeah. theres alot of salt on both sides of the fence but its not a prevalent as ppl claim. overall, killers and survivors are both pretty decent ppl. we just tend to forget that we're playing against other decent ppl most of the time.... and toxicity breeds toxicity....
Facecamping in the old iteration was a strategy to secure a kill, it could be carried out with all killers while now you cant secure a kill anymore, you can only hooktrade when you play a chainsaw killer.
If bodyblocking away from a hook is a natural mechanic, I dont see why bodyblocking away from an unhook is unnatural

Been a survivor main since the start, but I'm just starting to play killer. One thing I learned as a survivor is how difficult it can be to counter a killer using the 3 gen strat at the end. Especially on maps like Pale Rose, where you can have the last 3 literally beside each other.
As a new killer, is this a viable strategy? Keep my presence around a select few generators and set up for an intense end game?
I can confirm that as a survivor main facing this it can be infuriatingly difficult to finish that last gen. Is it considered toxic to use this strategy? Or is it just not worth it at all to put most of the heat on your end game and just try to keep as few generators from getting powered as possible? TIAUsually it works against those teams you would have beat by playing normal too.
IT doesnt work agianst coordinated SWF which would have bullied you in a normal game anywaySo it doesnt change anything, but from my perspective it is a really boring strategy

But is it really fun kicking puppies? They had a crap time, and you most likely would have preferred a better match. The resets do nothing but punish the less skilled.
Its more fun than being bullied by a SWF

That is a real problem and I can not believe how devs did not even attempt to solve this. One thing though is whether this could potentially lead to an exploit like killer used a survivor pudding and had a very bad match and then disconnects? We could say that the killers should not get benefits that survivors get since they are the ones who disconnect but it doesn't seem fair to me.uhm the number of DCing killers is a lot smaller than those of the survivors^^

So beginners are not allowed to play casual and have to face the death squads bullying them, seems like a good ideaJammyJewels said:Let's talk a bit about the average mode. It is directly linked to rank and by this it seems to be competitive. Well I'd like to suggest some changes.
CASUAL MODES
Of course KYF exists. But it isn't rewarding to play it. So perhaps why not add a new way to play? The average 1v4 but with no rank attached. You'd only be able to enter Casual Play if your rank is above 10/13.
COMPETITIVE RULES
A new competitive option would be available. But all perks are disabled for both survivor and killer. As you climb the ranks the challenge increases, slower gen progress or more required gens for survivors. The challenge wouldn't be one sided as Killers would have fewer hooks spawned into the map. Again, no perks for either side so no DS or SC and items would only be able to be accessed through chests.
Also SWF must be banned from ranked mode -

Let's face it, in 90%+ of the times its a salty survivor. Since punishment for DCS should stack up slowly if it happens too often within a time frame, I would be fine do getting a 5 min Bann if I dc against a exploiting survivor who is holding me hostage -

looping not to long ago.
I asked for advice what to do against loopers after I have been looped for 5 gens and the advice was "play nurse" or "chase another one"
IF this is what the game comes down, yeah camping will become more and more common, the more survivors get better at looping.
Either that or nurse, but Im not sure whether that is so much fun either
2 things can fix looping, faster bloodlust on turning actions, bloodlust triggering after stomping a pallet.
2 things can fix camping too, reduced hook progress when the killer is near the hook, killers get bloodlust after hooking a survivor.
Camping isn’t broken. It’s a strategy. Also they already tried the reduced hook progress thing
Camping is a strategy like looping
Both strategies shouldnt be in the game if we are honest -

2 things can fix camping too, reduced hook progress when the killer is near the hook, killers get bloodlust after hooking a survivor.Bloodlust was the worst thing they created. It was supposed to help against the horrible map design, but fact is that you sometimes lose your chase even though you directly look at the survivor, RIP bloodlust. Then even with bloodlust 3 there are spots where you cant get the survivor (2 jungle gyms next to each other for example. You need to break those pallets.
Maps need a general rework, but devs are too lazy and try to hide the issues by adding other "features"
Devs tried to introduce punishment for camping, but it got abused by survivors, either you give incentive to leave the hook or we will stay at the current situation. However when you suggest incentives liek that (truetalen fresh hook idea e.g.), survivors go into ragemode^^ (BBQ OP etc)

You can avoid madness by crouching, you dont get mad in lockers.
Always try to get into madness 1 as fast as possible, it would be perfect if you manage that while doc is chasing someone else and zaps at a pallet

I was more mad about Queen saying that they support camping as a killer mechanic, they need to fix that because camping is unfun for both killers and survivors. Survivors can't save their team mates and get bloodpoints and altruism and they can't get healing points, and killers just sit there by the hook not chasing and watching the gen counter go down. It can literally shut the game down and stop any action besides endgame shenanigans because survivors and killers need to pip somehow.I'm not lying, I've been matched up with camping Leatherfaces my past 5 games and it's non interactive to say the least.I just sit there do gens, open gates, break totems and try to bait a chase by the exit and leave.

Yeah, while Hag is at the right spot now, the Trapper is still useless. I think that taking his traps from lockers, not from all across the map and harder escaping from trap would help him a lot.

Leatherface has one important statistic and one alone, and that is his rev speed. If he gets anything less than full Tinkerer by default, the freed up perk slot he receives is irrelevant because his power will fail to function, and whatever perk he equips instead cannot make his power functional.
Reasons rev speed is so important:
- Breaks pallets faster
- Hits survivors before they get to windows
- Hits survivors before they get to pallets
- Hits survivors before they get to a large, loopable structure that he can't chase around because he'll Tantrum
- Faster movement speeds (spends less time in his slowed down revving state)
If we take the huntress changes as a benchmark, then his addons will even be nerfed

(i found out i could grab people that try to unhook, but lets face it, that wouldnt help. another one would just unhook.)
i hit one in the chase, grab him, i get flash lighted.
i chase, i get one, i hit another, 2 down. i grab one, that one wiggle his way out of my grasp instantly? being new i have no idea how that happens, the timer wasnt even up.
he's lose, the other one was helped up.
great back to start. i catch one, i get flash lighted. happens twice.
i hook one, he gets unhooked.
look where im going with this is simple. how do i deal with survivors that dont give a [BAD WORD] about me and just gangs up on me? my hits are not aoe (although i know some killers have aoe) and i feel like all killers should have aoe hits to deal with all these survivors just ganging up on that hooking pedestrial.
and whats this about them wiggling out of my grasp instantly almost after i pick them up?
and what am i supposed to do about flashlight?
and then sometimes they run to small areas that has a window + a small thing to leap over, could be a half wall or something. something that means its not just running, so im not faster than them. we just run in circles. what do i do? please tell me.
this is not a rant or a complaint, but i feel like i should be in charge when i play the killer, yet im completely at the survivors mercy. if all of them have Flashlights, i have no idea what to do.
ive done moderately well as the Pig, but now im struggling with the Wraith. the chase is decent, albeit not when they vault over stuff and keep a loop. but this ganging up on me, not even caring when i hook one because they get him down instantly? i dont know what to do.
Sorry to say that, but in DBD survivors will never be scared of you unless you play the strongest killer, nurse.
In fact the killer has to worry about more stuff than the survivors do
Nurse is quite hard to master though, so I would suggest you start with other, easier killers like hillbilly or doctor.
If they're running DS along with some other bullshit perks like Sprint Burst then they're still not afraid of even the Nurse.
There are very few SWF teams competent enough that they can demolish a good nurse. But yeah, sadly theoretically they can do

how do you guys do it?
Afterrrrrrrr some time you will learn how the loop works, survivors always take the same routes because they are brain-dead completely safe routes.
As a beginner I suggest to play a tall killer like doctor, billy or trapper, that can help you a lot already.Pig is really hard to play, I would forget about her in the beginning. You shouldnt be using her ambush attack most of the time because crouching takes way too much time (game is about time management), there are only very little situations where ambush actually helps you
It can help you to reduce settings to low

Actually its their job, thats why they are called killers
Dude, there is a difference between getting hooked 3 times and getting hooked 1 time and being killed after 2 minutes. If you think I'm wrong, go play survivor and take a flashlight (you don't need to know how to save) and you won't last longer than 5 minutes (if you get found. But why would you try to hide when you have an item that forces you to interact with the killer?). And it's not their 'job' to kill survivors, because it's a game and the point of playing a game is to have fun (and camping is not fun for anyone)
A flashlight forces you to interact with the killer? Dafuq? Dont listen to ochido, he might tell you that the only way to play survivor is by clicking at a killers face in order to annoy him as much as possible, but that is not how you need to play.
Sure, I can go play survivor, take a flashlight, and easily escape, because I can escape without a flashlight too and a flashlight just makes it easier
(If you believe that a flashlight makes it harder to escape, then you should probably stop using it)Now do some math and compare the objectives.
There are 4 survivors and 1 killer, survivors need to do 5 gens to complete their objective, the killer needs to do 12 hooks to complete their objective (assuming 3 hooks per survivor)
Now I challenge you to use your brain and think about how fast you can do a gen and how long it takes to get a hook. Is there something you notice?
