Yet they add the blair witch copycat? My guess is Billy just has ######### all players so they didn't want to put on of the least popular killers in the main artworker.
On their latest pickrate/killrate stats, Hag is actually in the bottom 3 for pickrate at 2.16%, I believe.
Billy is way higher, with a pretty decent 3.49%.
So it's really just the devs hating Billy.

OH MY GOSH YES, I ALWAYS thought it was someone kicking a soccer ball, still to this day I'm not 100% sure what it is, lol
It's basically a guy striking a weird pose in front of a cowering Survivor, ready to fight for them or something... I don't know, David King is stupid.

I think it's pretty fair, she really shouldn't need to listen through all of that sound.
The only worry that'd come with it that I can think of is that it could bug so that the Survivor gets it too, instantly letting them know you're phasing.

That is the big problem, why is it so easy for him to find the box? That should be next to impossible.
It should be next to impossible for him to interact with his power?
I think there wouldn't really be any way for them to adjust that, so really all I have to say is just... get good.
And even if they could adjust it... why does this very specific thing that Pinhead has to go out of his way for perturb you so much?
-
Yeah, I honestly really don't get the hate for Pinhead.
Getting downed from a possessed chain actually feels fair (unlike Trickster, Nemesis, Artist, etc) and the box keeps matches feeling fresh.
@Sluzzy said:
Extreme slowdown.
Killers already have massive slowdown perks, his power is a slowdown, and he has anti-loop on top of all that.
And somehow Pinheads that I face know where the cube is and it becomes a train wreck, especially solo Q.
You can't even solve the box when chains are hunting.
It's actually not that hard to find out where the box is, Sluzzy. Plus, there's actually something you can do to deal with Pinhead finding the box.
If you crouch as he picks it up, you won't scream or be chained.
-
I think the worst Killer is either Hag or Ghostface. Hag against Survivors who know how to deal with her and Ghostface against anyone else.

But it does, alot of people just arent using their tvs well at all. Iv versed 18 now and so many arent using the tvs like they should be
I've had a lot of people use this argument for saying Sadako is A Tier or something.
"Oh, you're just not playing her right!" And to that, I say: "How am I supposed to play her?"
Do you want me to play hit and run? Because if so, I've got news for you, since Wraith, a Killer who came with the game years ago and is currently C Tier, is objectively better at playing like this since the Survivors can't literally deactivate his mobility power.
Do you want me to play her like a no-power Spirit, trying to use the Manifest intermittent phasing to catch people off guard and get grabs off gens? Because I can't really do that since she has multiple audio cues which prevent this most of the time.
Do you want me to play her like a snareless Freddy, trying to catch people as they run away from me with the TVs and build up enough Condemned to get to the point where I can mori people? Because if so, then I just waste time and the Survivor runs away from me. And if I get a decent amount of Condemned on someone, they spend like 12 seconds to remove a large portion of it while also deactivating part of my garbage mobility power.
Sadako is like DBD's version of Twelve from Third Strike. She has semblances of a character here, but almost everyone does her job just as good, if not better. She has very little niche.
-
@ukenicky said:
I don't get it, are some people expecting to get condemned mori(s) every single match or something?
The mechanic basically doesn't exist. That's the issue.

It's not Boons, it's just Circle of Healing.
Shadow Step and Exponential are actually quite fine, with Exponential even possibly being a bit underpowered (apart from Twins but I think BHVR has plans to eventually overhaul them what with how much they indirectly or directly nerf them), and Dark Theory is genuinely trash, so overall, 3/4 of Boons are fine OR need buffs.
Circle of Healing is not, and that is putting it lightly.
Even if Circle of Healing wasn't a thing, Killer would still be rough because...
(Obviously it's not just Dead Hard I just thought the image was funny)

Aww, that was really sweet. Thanks, Kurri. I needed that today.

I guess but i'm not always loading into DBD to have to sweat my butt off for every single damage state. There is Nurse or Blight for that.
I don't think he's bad at all if you are landing every chain, but if you are landing every chain then you could be landing every blink. It's literally the same mechanic but with extra steps to damage someone and a few bells and whistles in the form of the box. I only play him because I am a hellraiser fan.
And I completely get that. I get that a lot of people would rather just pick Nurse, but I don't because I don't like Nurse as a character and I don't want to have to rely on just that. I want to do M1 Killer gameplay too sometimes. Plus, Nurse doesn't have the box, which feels insanely good to learn about where it spawns and be rewarded for doing your homework on the Killer.

It's not as bad as people make it out to be. Anticipate the PR from the hook, eat the first bird then let go. The only thing that grinds my gears is getting an unlucky skill check right as I let go.
The trick to beating DMS is to know where multiple gens are, and to rotate if one gets shut down. This will result in it taking longer to do gens, but if you play right you'll be able to pop multiple gens very close to each other thanks to the 'dam' effect.
Keep in mind that she cannot launch birds from a close proximity to the hook, meaning that there is usually an avenue of approach to free people.
A facecamping Bubba or Myers is way more scary.
It's still quite bad. Even if you anticipate the PR and eat the first bird, that's still a solid 40-to-30 seconds of that gen being blocked. Also, she could use her next triad of birds to attack the gens she assumes you're at, meaning that at your best situation, there's 6 of the 7 gens (which one is probably near the hooked Survivor) being blocked if everyone has split up and she has BBQ or something to know where everyone was after the hook.
Also, you are insane if you think solo queue can do this. They can't even save people off hooks normally a lot of the time.
While there is a proximity check for her birds next to hooked Survivors, it's only ~10 meters. That's not exactly much of an opportunity.
This playstyle isn't a threat because she's just normally facecamping, but it's because she can also secure downs insanely easy against any player. Myers, Leatherface and even Trickster have a way harder time downing people so their ability to face camp is slightly justified, along with the fact that they just... can't pressure people on gens while doing this?

I think everyone who didn't hate her from launch had this reaction overall to her. I was in the camp that hated her during the PTB, hated her on launch (boy that was a rough week), and hate her still, even more so now that there's the fear of every Artist player out there using Dead Man's Switch and basically getting to freely face camp 3/4 of a hook timer while still pressuring gens to a point where almost nothing can be done.

Yeah but it's such a pain to use. Especially when you load into a survivor sided map like the game. Then you are basically needing to be pixel perfect for the effect of a clown bottle.
Good survivors will make it difficult to quickscope-chain them. And nothing is worse than RNG screwing you over and them just instantly breaking all 3 or even you being forced to break them yourself as you advance towards them.
I actually hate his power but I play him because I love the character. The only fun thing is the box. The M2 is some hot garbo. For the amount of effort it takes you should just play Nurse and slaughter everyone instead of getting a few seconds of slowdown.
I personally like how hard it is to use, because it feels like I'm actually getting rewarded fairly for doing something that takes a lot more effort than "press m2, press m1" such as:
- Nemesis
- Artist
- Trickster
- Deathslinger
- Clown
- Pyramid Head
- and more...
As I said, I get a lot of value out of it, even against visibly good Survivors (especially since Dead Hard is a lot less of a pain to deal with while still being somewhat present). And even if I don't get too much value out of it, every hit chain feels super satisfying because of the punchy sound effects while using it (every time I land one that satisfied groan Pinhead does right after is basically me). RNG can be a bit frustrating, but I find that this mainly only applies to indoor maps which, yeah, that sucks, but it's overwhelmingly fun with only a bit of frustration.
I love his character and his power. I think he has one of the best-designed powers in the game, especially when taking into account the box.

His possessed chain is really fun until you remember using it successfully accomplishes next to nothing.
It actually accomplishes quite a lot. There's a lot of decent loops that take a good amount of time to mindgame and possibly win which become near useless against Pinhead. It can even kind of deal with Shift W a little bit, you just need to know when is the right time to use it.
There is also the fact that you just can't use exhaustion perks while chained.
His M2 is a lot better than most people realize. I've had so much value from it even without Engineer's Fang.
-
Why do you not enjoy playing Pinhead? I think he's the most fun in the game.

I agree with you there but why are you (I assume) playing her like Wraith and not like her. She has a mixture of Wraith, Spirit, and Freddy but she is not them she is her own Killer and we need to learn how to play her. I played her a little bit and made the same mistake and played her like Wraith or Spirit and lost alot, but when I played her as her own Killer I did alot better. Now she still needs some buffs but she is not weak.
She has elements of all of them and yet none of the actual benefits of playing those Killers.
Her main power is that she has passive phasing from Spirit on command. That is essentially it for impactful stuff, and she basically just makes 50/50s with this on guessing which side of the loop she goes to (kind of like Wraith golly gee whillickers isn't that weird). I assure you all that within a few weeks, maybe a month or two at most, people will stop falling for this garbage.
You could try teleporting to TVs mid-chase to catch Survivors as they hold W away, but they, a lot like if a Freddy (golly gee whillickers isn't that strange) were to teleport to a gen to try catching someone, can rub two brain cells together and realize "Wait, imma run away from the TV and she just can't get me. Damn, that was easy. I hope she doesn't try it again otherwise I'd feel really bad for her- oh wait she did it again". This does sound like you can zone pretty well with it then, since you can force people to go back into a deadzone, but the amount of time it takes to get out of a TV lets them gain a lot of distance so they probably just end up back at a zone with pallets.
How people are saying this M1 Killer with nothing remarkable going for her is even close to B or A tier is astonishing to me. She is a mix of two low tiers and a small dash of a high tier with the low tiers being a very predominant part while still removing even what these two can sometimes do in their niche. She fails to do anything well to Survivors that know what they're doing. Even Legion probably struggles less, which is saying a LOT.
There is also barely anything original about her. Her standout traits for gameplay are that she's small (which sounds good for stealth until you realize she's wearing a ######### white dress which sticks out like a sore thumb on any map that isn't Lery's or Ormond), she has intermittent phasing rather than completely random phasing and she can technically mori someone who hasn't even been hooked once, but only if they're actively trying to get moried.

Wraith is only bad now because they removed his lunge. Now if you run Bone clacker or something similar you won't get stealth hits
And Sadako doesn't have any of what made Wraith decent at any point in time. She also has no lunge (even less of a lunge to speak of than Wraith's lol), she doesn't move any faster while demanifested, and she's even easier to spot while demanifested than Wraith while cloaked in their respective visible ranges. The only upside she has is that she can kind of try to counter people taking hits by demanifesting through them, but she then moves slower than Survivors while manifesting so it's almost entirely futile.

You massively overrate Pinhead's power. He's still an M1 killer, which makes him Wraith level.

It was not a just nerf. You know what Pinhead becomes with that add-on? A slower Legion, not a better Nurse. I don't know what you're on about with him having an amazing ability. It's hard for him to land hits with it depending on the map, and even when he does, the chains can just touch a wall and instantly break. Engineer's Fang could be basekit and he'd still lose all the time.
Yes, I do know things about "broken" add-ons. People don't think pinks and purple add-ons have acceptable power levels even though they're literally pinks and purples. "They need drawbacks!" aka "There must be counterplay AT ALL TIMES." All-Seeing Blood unjustly nerfed when it was literally just aura reading. Pinky Finger unjustly nerfed because it gave the possibility of instadowns while survivors are out in the open. Now people want Compound 33, Alchemist's Ring, Blighted Rat/Crow (why?), Adrenaline Vial (why?) nerfed.
I guess killers having decent add-ons is something we've taken for granted, and we should just nerf all of them in the name of "progress".
Damn, didn't know Legion had a 16-meter range with their attack and could go through walls and then still nullify Dead Hard from pretty much existing half of the time and has passive slowdown constantly without needing to do anything. How curious.
-
@danielmaster87 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2846195#Comment_2846195
Which was unjustly nerfed.
It was very justly nerfed. It was stupid how an addon turned him into better Nurse for the first hit and barely affected him for the second hit.
Pinhead's M2 is very good already, in particular because it neuters exhaustion Perks. If you could do that as consistently as normal while also instantly injuring anyone, Pinhead would be broken with that, especially since he also has no change to his slowdown.
Considering your profile picture is Blight, I think you'd know quite a bit about broken addons.
-
I think Hag is really boring, but at least she's not Killers like Artist, Nemesis and Trickster.
I think Nurse is really boring, simply because she removes most of what Survivors use while barely bringing anything else to the table.
And also, these Killers don't really change the typical gameplay. Generators are still the thing that 3/4 of the Survivors are doing at any point at the start of the game.
I don't think any Killer really changes the typical gameplay. They may alter one part of it, but never really bring a full new thing to play with.
This is actually kind of what I was hoping for with Nemesis, and those rumors of new ways to escape and kill. I was thinking it'd be really cool to see them kind of make Nemesis change what game you're playing, going from DBD to RE: Resistance or something. Just something more than "two ######### AI zombies and oh yeah you need to hold w against this killer because you really can't loop him very well" was what I was hoping for.
The closest we have to a Killer who changes the "typical gameplay", in my opinion, is Pinhead. The box is one of the most, if not the most, unique mechanic we've had in Dead by Daylight. It provides a new layer to generator gameplay since you cannot ignore it and it's not a one-and-done deal like with Pig's RBTs. He also has a chase ability that provides a new thing to worry about in chase, can really neuter your Exhaustion Perks, and takes a fair amount of effort to use while still requiring effort after using it to win a chase (UNLIKE NURSE LOL).
This is why he's my favorite Killer, with stuff like voicelines being really nice cherries on top of a rather fleshy sundae.
-
Oni actually has quite a decent iridescent addon now in the form of Iridescent Family Crest. Deathslinger's Iridescent Coin is good after the buff too.
Trickster's Iridescent Photocard is lowkey very underrated.
Ghostface is pretty old lmao, feels unfair to say that he's recent.
Gotta agree on Sadako, Artist and Twins, though.

Ah. Okay I tried it on the new Yui skin so no wonder it didn’t work.
well, then we gotta assume this is not intentional but a bug probably getting fixed soon..
That's true, but I'm already having my fun with mixing Killer stuff that I don't have. This also works with breaking sets in the shop, and I have to say that this headpiece is way better for Trickster's God of Desire set than the regular headpiece for it.
Side note, why is Trickster's God of Desire skin a set when it doesn't massively change him at all? I guess there's the voicelines, but they could just set that to when you use the headpiece specifically. I really like the torso, and wish I could use it with other things, and maybe the headpiece would look better with other torsos. Being able to change the bat would also be pretty fun.
-
This strangely only works for Killer. For Survivor, it still doesn't work.
1) Go to the shop
2) Select a Killer's (only works on Killer) outfit
3) Select another piece from one of the individual part categories
And if you want to swap back to the default or something, you can make them appear in the filters section.
-
I've actually wanted this for a while. I want a short male Survivor, especially.
MoistCr1TiKaL as a Survivor when???
-
Sadako - Mediocre. Call Of Brine seems pretty good, Merciless Storm seems genuinely worthless and Floods Of Rage... exists? I guess?
Yoichi - Sad. Parental Guidance is alright, I guess, but relies on other perks to be even somewhat decent. Empathetic Connection honestly seems decent in concept, but... 10% faster healing speed is terrible. Maybe make it 50%, since it only affects healing other people, unlike something like Botany Knowledge which affects all heals.
And Boon: Dark Theory is honestly among the worst Survivor Perks in the game. You wanna know the best thing this perk does? Waste the Killer's time by making them snuff a useless boon. That's it.

That is the hag. She is the secret weapon. No body plays her like seriously I never go against hags and hag is basically a better nurse if you think about it. She teleportes, she has more movment speed, she has a lesser skill cap. She is short though that's the only reason I can think of people going away from her.
The hag is the nuke of nukes she's absolutly insane if you know how to hit your teleport shots and that does take skill but not as much as others. Most people go for her for the perks but never take the time to play her and get used to her.
Some of the best killer mains in the world main hag and I can't see how people don't understand that hag is cracked.
She may be ugly, but hey personality and ability is what matters
She's actually arguably the weakest Killer in the game.
-
Half of these perks are like... never used. No.
-
Aftercare - No longer resets upon being hooked. In fact, it'll never reset once it's set up. It also will additionally track a teammate if you take a hit for them or save them via a flashlight, flashbang or pallet or if you are nearby when a killer loses their grasp on a Survivor (let's say about 16 meters).
This perk is meant to be a way to build up to basically getting SWF-level information while starting off as nothing. Restarting that slow process when you get hooked is miserable and denies you of this perk getting use. It's also just generally kind of tough to set up, so more applications would be nice.
I just want a Jeff perk to be good.

Yup. Artist is a ridiculously powerful killer. I think she just has a massive skill gap that people can be god tier with her or absolute garbage. She is completely fine where she is at. IMO Nurse>Blight>Artist>Pinhead. Putting her in the top 3 for me, at least. I'd much rather see killers like Nemi, PHead, Legion, Pig and a few others get some reworks/buffs.
I don't think she's fine by any means. She's Top 4 in the game, easily, and yet takes maybe 2 brain cells to rub together in order to work. She shuts down loops with zero effort. There's no skill gap. The skill floor is so low that it's in the core of the Earth and the skill ceiling is maybe about 3 inches higher than that.
Artist is not Top 3, because Spirit is still the third best Killer in the game. Pinhead is nowhere near top tier, despite what the kill rates might tell you. He's a pub stomper, but not to a degree such as Hag and Twins. These killers (Hag/Twins) are nigh unbeatable in regular uncoordinated pubs, but useless at higher levels. Pinhead is really strong in public matches, but against Survivors who can take control of the box easily, he's still functional, but not good enough to really work well.
In terms of Killers I'd like to see buffed or reworked, it's honestly just anyone in the bottom half of the Killers.
I'd like to see Nemesis get a rework which makes him more interactive in chase while also making him stronger, because I feel like he deserves that kind of treatment, given the amount of hype that was built up for years around him. Pyramid Head is similar, but I at least love his faithfulness to the license and how much he felt unique (at least at the time, now that Nemesis exists they feel like echo fighters of each other).
Pig is far too overdue for a rework. She's honestly such a miserable experience and has quite a few problems that affect both sides that became apparent with her tome and the creation of the cursed Video Tape (AFK'ing at boxes mixed with insane amounts of RNG).
You're in luck for Legion, since them and Ghostface are supposedly up next for reworks/buffs. Sorry for being long and ranty.
-
This would honestly be really, really unfair. Pop a crow at someone and they literally can't leave for a hefty amount of time, more than long enough to hit them twice to down them. If it also acts like Victor where there's a grace period afterwards, then you'd basically get basekit Blood Warden. One thing Artist doesn't need is the ability to basically prevent people from leaving.
Granted, she also didn't need the ability to basically facecamp a Survivor to death while still being able to apply tons of pressure because of buffed Dead Man's Switch, but that made it to live, so maybe your idea would have a chance.
Sorry, but I'd rather not buff a Top 4 Killer who is arguably the least fun Killer to go against when we could see buffs to Killers that are actually healthy for the game and need buffs more than Artist.

I'm almost certain Haddonfield will be more than just a coat of paint, it's been one of the most hated maps for the longest time, it's due an overhaul, and usually when they 'rework' maps they don't disable them from the game entirely like they have done with Haddonfield.
When one of the most infamous devs goes to statistics for literally everything and brought up how Haddonfield was balanced for kill rates, I am not hopeful.

Wow, a whole 0.08 m/s extra will surely do something when combined with Dead Hard and Sprint Burst. Because THOSE perks definitely need a boost. Your Sprint Burst will 100% take you out of the Boon's range and barely change, same with Dead Hard.
