To be fair, I have a feel that new Boon's 2% movement speed buff might be slightly underrated. I could see it maybe giving a survivor or two per match an extra vault if they're looping near the Boon. And really that's about as much extra time granted as some exhaustion perks tend to give. Even Dead Hard only typically gives one or two extra vaults per match probably for instance but it's considered really powerful. So the new Boon may be ok. Not exciting, probably not great or anything, but maybe an average perk (maybe) 🤷♂️
Put 2% movement speed into perspective.
5% movement speed is 0.2 m/s. 2% is 0.08 m/s. You go from 4 m/s to 4.08 m/s. When within a 24-meter range of a loud boon. That you have to set up for at least 14 seconds. What a terrible perk, genuinely.

I’m getting tired of hearing that “Boons are broken” when the only actually overpowered Boon is Circle of Healing. The consensus on the other three is they’re fine (including so far the one on the PTB). It’s not the Boon system that’s a problem, it’s that one specific healing Boon. Which they did nerf, by the way, so they’re obviously still monitoring it and if the data shows it’s still too good it could get nerfed again.
The one on the PTB is actually worthless. One of the worst perks in the game as it is.

The Crypt TV skins can be gotten with Iridescent Shards, so that's how I'll get them.

Bubba doesn't care about your skin color. He go after every colors of the rainbow. I swear it like Myers in the new Halloween movie cause apparently people think he homophobic due to killing a queer character.
Every time this argument is used, I want to thrust my palm through my head so hard that I have an embedded hand print on my face.
-
I would also recommend Deathslinger for Dead Man's Switch. It's insane.
A fun alternative to BBQ is Thrilling Tremors from Ghostface. It also works pretty great with Pop Goes The Weasel.
Oh, also, get Pinhead and Trickster. Deadlock and No Way Out are actually incredibly strong perks, among the strongest Killer Perks in my personal opinion (not top 5 but both are like top 10).

one minute is an eternity in dbd.
I'll take my duration addons and just use m1 killer gameplay to get downs, thank you very much.
I mean, you'll be taking longer than one minute usually as an M1 Killer if the Survivors aren't drooling out the side of their head.

Frank's Mixtape and Stab Wound Study is not even close to his strongest add-ons???
Uncounterable downs in about a minute seems a lot better than taking years for a single down.
It is the best thing they can do, but they're still weak with this.

The only weakness that Ghostface has with his basekit is the cooldown, and even then it's better now than it once was. Addons do help a lot though.
I agree that Legion is very weak without addons, though.
Both of these are so painfully wrong that it hurts.
Myers is better than Ghostface ever was, and Ghostface has far more problems than cooldowns.
Ghostface is very weak. Period, and he doesn't even have any addons to make him any stronger. I thought we were done with the belief of "Ghostface is an upgraded version of Myers." a year ago. His weakness is that he doesn't do anything with his power.
Legion is very weak. Period. Even with their best addon combination, which is Frank's Mix Tape and Stab Wounds Study, they are still awful. They're even worse now, since Circle of Healing doesn't even allow them to keep people injured for what is essentially permanent Exposed.
Myers is pretty weak without addons, and he becomes far better when running certain addons. Still not great, but far better than anything that the other two can do.
-
The weakest Killer, just going off of basekit, is Ghostface or Legion. Both are near worthless.
-
No perks in the game should currently be made basekit. None.
-
Spirit is just kind of eh to me. I've never really wanted to learn her power since she's 110 and these types of Killers generally don't appeal to me.
Personally, I find Pinhead and Blight way more fun.
-
Yes! A reason to kill switch Eyrie of Crows! Goodbye, one garbage map for at least a bit!
-
Bruh I just went up against a Nemesis who basically had a 3v1 because I had to go put clothes in the washer and dryer and the other 3 still got out lmao
-
REmake 2 is great, probably my #2, but I think that my #1 is RE7. It was kind of my introduction to Resident Evil. I love Jack so much, he's such a fantastic villain (better than Nemesis imo).

? Clown has 4 bottles by default, mate. So it's 4 to 2 now. I wish they would give one more bottle by default to compensate but that's too much to ask for those IRL clowns it seems.
Alright, I'll admit, I got the amount of Bottles wrong. I always thought he had 5 basekit.
But still, 2 Bottles is a fine amount for the buff that you get. You can literally secure a kill by facecamping no matter what is done by the survivors.
-
I think people are heavily overestimating how bad this Pinky Finger nerf will be.
It's just -2 Bottles, guys. You go from 5 to 3. You just can't spam your bottles as freely.

30 seconds of blocked gens isn't a big deal.
Blocked gens are immune to damage and can't regress.
Keep in mind that this is the same time as Deadlock at Tier 3, and Deadlock is like... arguably one of the best Killer Perks on some Killers... and it only activates 4 times. This can activate over twice as many times and is in the Killer's control rather than the Survivors' control like with Deadlock.
-
To be honest, I don't care.
######### Nemesis.
-
Favorite: Umm... this is hard. I liked the DS nerf. Pinhead's a decent-designed Killer.
Least Favorite: Pretty much everything else. I cannot tell you enough how much I think that this year was a disaster for Dead by Daylight. Between MMR; Boons; RPD; Nemesis; NFTs; Artist; Trickster; Eyrie of Crows; the absolutely pea-brained UI changes; the mediocre animation changes (yeah, they're better than before, but still not great); the fact that they killed a decent Killer; AND the fact that the devs still prioritize making skill-less anti-loop Killers over ones that depend on both players' skill, it all ends up being a massive disappointment to see them mess up for nearly 12 months in a row.
-
Thanks, MandyTalk! Have a great 2022!
-
Anyone who says that DS before its most recent nerf was garbage is a fool, I'm sorry to say.
-
Me, in the process of making a concept that turns Jeff into a Killer: 😲
Anyways, yeah, Artist is really unfun to go against.
-
The issue with making perks less impactful is that it would be near impossible to make 90+ perks to both sides with them all being small.
It would also almost completely remove the difference between new Characters, especially Survivors. It's already tough to build hype for a Survivor unless they have a meta perk. Let's be honest, Mikaela 100% would have flopped if Circle of Healing wasn't broken to such a bullshit degree.
I think the idea could work if the game began with this philosophy of perks not being too impactful.

Balanced.....Ormond...? Yea ok 🤣
It's very balanced. I don't understand what this stigma is against Ormond after the rework when most of the loops are pretty mediocre and main is just objectively worse than most other main buildings, and it's kind of disappointing.
Yes, the map is a bit big. 152 meters is a bit much, but it's never felt like an issue with Ormond specifically.
It feels like an issue on pretty much every other map this size, but not Ormond, strangely.
Maybe it's because main building takes up so much of the middle of Ormond that it kind of ends up making the map seem like less of an issue to patrol.
-
It's like they wanted to make a sandy version of Ormond but failed.
This map tries so desperately to be balanced like Ormond but it just isn't. The size isn't much of an issue, but the loops are. There are too many on this map and all of them chain into main which is ridiculous.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Tell me you're a killer main without telling me you're a killer main.
I'll give you a few easy examples to get started;
Lithe is overpowered.
Alchemist's Ring Blight is perfectly balanced.
Decisive Strike needs another nerf.
For real, though, can we please please please please cut it out with the us vs them, pit one side vs the other, absolute levels of bullshittery we have here every single day. Both sides have valid issues to deal with, and both sides deserve to have complaints to listen to. Pitting everyone against each other with every single ######### post is so tiring and the antithesis of the word "productive".
Please, just stop.

@JawsIsTheNextKiller said:
And we still get people requesting a Haddonfield rework. You think they are going to make it better for killers do you killer mains? I doubt that very much.
We're just trying to be hopeful. After all, they did make one of the most Survivor-sided maps way more balanced with a rework (Ormond). It's harder for them to screw up a bad map's rework than screw up a good map's rework.
-
The Crotus Prenn Rework was horrible. Chapel's main building went from inconsistent (either mediocre or god tier) to always busted and Disturbed Ward is just as ridiculous as before.
I gotta agree on pretty much everything else.
I think Gideon in general is just a horrible design, since there are like 5 Windows and 25 great pallets. I don't think there's a single bad pallet on that map, and a lot of them are god pallets.
RPD isn't even really Survivor-sided and more so just DBD-sided. No side has fun on RPD.
Honestly, all of the map reworks have made maps worse with one exception. The Ormond rework made it go from incredibly Survivor sided to almost balanced. Lower its size to match Coal Tower and it becomes super balanced in my opinion.
-
What's wrong with the Box now? Pretty sure they kept it nearly the exact same...
-
Legion's AAAAAGH is always funny to hear.
-
If The Artist still had her insanely pea-brained strategy of trapping windows with crows for free health states, I think she'd be overpowered.
She is very unfun to go against, however. These nerfs, though, are way too much and unnecessary.
-
Just Leave

Tbf we’ve had some other okay ones. Mainly No way out which is actually very strong
This year has had quite a few good perks for Killer.
- Starstruck
- No Way Out
- Lethal Pursuer (it's grown on me)
- Deadlock
- Hex: Plaything
- Hex: Pentimento
- Pain Resonance
These are all pretty good perks.
-
I think it's a great perk, but super annoying to face.

No. The minimum you can charge a shred is 0.65 seconds, and the maximum is 1 second. During the first 0.65 seconds, you are not slowed down at all.
- Upon pressing mouse 1 before your shred is charged, instead of performing a basic attack you now will do the minimum shred distance.
This is what you put. "Before your Shred is charged" indicated to me that it was "before the 0.65 seconds".
You can already charge a Shred an unleash it in 0.65 seconds so from the way you're describing it, it sounds like this means nothing.

For the final apart about the shred, it would really only help newer people learn him better because they wouldn't accidentally m1. I don't think it would help veteran players too much, kinda like how Huntress and now Plague don't have to worry about accidentally canceling their power.
Perhaps I'm misunderstanding it, but it sounds like someone can charge Shred for 0.2 seconds and still launch a Shred. Considering how fast Demogorgon can go during Shred, I think this can make it uncounterable in loops.
-
@Yankus said:
They are never touching him again....sorry :(
I believe they've stated that they can still adjust The Demogorgon. It's less likely that they will, but I believe that has been said.
Anyways, here are my thoughts. Sorry that it's long.
Rat Liver - Whenever I see a suggestion for Rat Liver like this, where it just ups the number, I always kind of groan. This addon was never good, since it only applied to when you fully charged. It didn't change your speed during the channel, so this ends up doing barely anything with either value. It'd be funny for meme games where you're always channeling that Shred, but come on...
Rat Tail - I actually quite like this. We could use an addon that speeds up Demogorgon's set up.
Sticky Lining - I mean... sure?
Viscous Webbing - Shred's current charge time is 1 second. With this, it'd be 0.9 seconds. Could maybe do some very situational things, but I'm against this idea. I don't want Demogorgon to have wind up addons like Huntress. It makes Huntress pretty unfun to go against, it will probably make Demo pretty unfun to to against.
Rotten Green Tripe - Yes, please. Love the haste idea.
Mew's Guts - Unlike Viscous Webbing, which is a lot like wind-up addons, the idea of the new effect of Mew's Guts, which is similar to Huntress' hatchet flight speed addons, I like this, even though Demogorgon already moves at 18.4 m/s, which this would make a clean 19 m/s. SPEEEEEEEEEEED.
Eleven's Soda - This is... alright, I suppose. Don't like this as much as Rotten Green Tripe's haste. This could be a bit too oppressive with Barb's Glasses.
Vermillion Webcap - Yes, yes, yes, a thousand times yes. PLEASE...
Thorny Vines - Kind of steps on Deathslinger's toes a bit too much, I'd say. Maybe just the portal part, while also giving an increased sealing time for the Survivors, could be nice.
Brass Case Lighter - How often do people genuinely fully charge Shred? I don't think this is a great idea, sorry.
Upside Down Resin - I could see this being used kinda like old Lifeguard Whistle, back when it afflicted Exhaustion, where you use it as a small chase power. This is an interesting idea. I like it.
Unknown Egg - I love this.
Severed Dear Head - I find this... kinda stale? Like, I understand that this is trying to rival Barb's Glasses and Black Heart, but I feel like people would just end up using this with one of those two for min-maxing.
Red Moss - Would really like to see this just kind of become basekit. Demogorgon shouldn't broadcast to the entire map that they're teleporting twice.
Iridescent Claws - Another Iridescent addon that gives Demogorgon a new playstyle, going for long-distance Shreds. Here's my issue, though. The issue with long-range shredding right now is that you can barely turn with Shred, so it's pretty easy to dodge the Shred if there's no obstacles. I do quite enjoy the idea, but perhaps, instead of 20% faster Shred movement speed, this addon could give you a 20% increased Shred turning rate.
I really like the balance changes for the most part, but I'm not so sure on the last one. Could make Demogorgon a bit too easy to play, being able to Shred way too early. Could make a lot of loops uncounterable against Demogorgon.
These are just my thoughts. Sorry for the wall of text.

@Sluzzy said:
I am holding my opinion of the Artist until further notice.
The Blight is too oppressive against everything except a very good SWF which makes him broken. He needs slower charges and much longer cooldown after dashing. Why can he traver completely across the map, hit someone, and immediately go as fast as normal?
Perks like Tinkerer should be considered when balancing killers.
You just had to dip your fingers into the pot, huh
-
Blight doesn't need a nerf.
Artist, much like every Killer apart from Blight that came since 2020 began, needs major adjustments to be actually fun to go against while also buffing them.
-
@GannTM said:
Enduring made DS completely useless. It was absurd. Enduring would let killers tunnel on a rampage if they didn’t nerf it.
Keep in mind that the time period you're probably thinking of (post-rework) was back when DS was a 3 second stun. They both nerfed Enduring and buffed DS.
Enduring had 35% less stun time on Perks. 65% of 3 is 1.95. Cuts off a full second. Yes, that's kind of absurd.
65% of 5 is 3.25. Would basically turn new DS stun time into old DS stun time.
I don't see much of an issue if Enduring kept its 35% less stun time on Perks while DS has the 5 second stun.
I do think that it would be a bit of a problem with Head On, though. Head On has a 3-second stun, so yes, that'd be a bit rough.

Yeah, I've just cracked 100 hours as a player (about 70 hours as killer) and if I can't see scratch marks I tend to lose the survivor. I realise that the game isn't balanced around my skill level (or lack thereof! ) but just my 2c worth.
I weirdly found this really wholesome. Keep trying, you'll get the hang of it!
-
No. I think that people overestimate just how much it does. It's not that great.

It takes 28 seconds to bless a hex. The wiki is wrong.
Don't know if it was shadownerfed or is was always 28 seconds but that's the time it actually takes.
Double with thrill at full stacks
Either way, it's still nowhere near as much time spent as what you'll save with Circle of Healing.

Booning a hex takes way too much time and isn't worth it imo. Your better of just cleansing the hex instead.
It takes 10 more seconds than Booning a Dull, which is far less time than what you will save due to Circle of Healing (heck, even Exponential and, situationally, Shadow Step) being broken as hell.

Why lol at Ormond? It's pretty balanced after the rework.

The effect itself is not bad. The problem with it is that, for an ultra rare addon, it is useless for almost the entirety of the match, except for one part of the match that you may not even get to. Awake survivors are also not affected by it so it could potentially be rendered useless even when it activates.
True. If I had to buff it, I'd say also give Black Box the "All Survivors start asleep" part from Red Paint Brush, while removing that from Red Paint Brush. Removing the ability to wake up from skillchecks is already pretty good on its own, I'd say.

Priorities are important, man
By the time you grind up the shards for Jeff, they announce another toxic Nea skin, or maybe even a toxic skin for Meg/Feng/Claudette/Dwight.
It's a vicious cycle for those who have yet to reach Jeff.
