Spirit also has Haunted Grounds which is another defensive totem perk , so does Deathslinger with Retribution, yet neither of them have another hex to defend with their perks

The difference between those two and Undying is that their main effects are still drawn from the perk itself, not from protecting others. You can use them as their own perks and still get benefits from it.

Haunted Grounds can literally win you the game from them cleansing the totem.

Retribution isn't very good on its own, but it still gives undeniably decent tracking and some okay stealth ability.

Undying has aura reading for a few seconds only on dull totems, and that's all.

  • It being a Hex actually should probably stay, because it has to let Blight use Undying to protect something for the Adept.

However, it literally has no uses outside of that.

If they removed the cooldown, buffed the range extensively (to like 32 meters), increased the duration and also blocked dropped pallets, I could see it being definitely worth the Hex part. It still only applies to basic attacks, but it's more rewarding in that situation.

Doesn’t matter, the argument for changing DH is that it has no counter, neither does tinkerer.

It kind of does matter... People complain about Dead Hard because it's an incredibly strong effect with no counterplay. There's plenty of perks that technically have "no counterplay" that aren't strong. Why should we ask for nerfs solely off of counterplay?

Tinkerer itself isn't a bad perk by any means but it certainly isn't flawless because of base generator regression sucking so much.

Dead Hard extends almost every chase it's in when used correctly (and it ain't that hard to use it correctly).

Nerfing Tinkerer because of Ruin + Undying + Tinkerer is a stupid idea and would make it even worse on its own. Dead Hard's bullshit is

  • As much as I would love to see Buffy, I'd personally want it to be a full chapter with Sweet as the Killer (the dancing demon from the musical episode). Why? Because that would be hilarious.

Personally, I'd want to see a paragraph for some character from the Final Destination series. Alex Browning, Kimberly Corman or Thomas Burke. The only reason I don't say anyone else is that everyone else in the series very obviously died. Alex's death itself happens between the first and second movies. Kimberly and Thomas' deaths only were confirmed in some alternate version of Final Destination 3.

Plus, I think it'd just make sense for one of these three to be chosen, especially Kimberly or Thomas who actually beat Death's design, and were the only ones who did in the series.

  • This Perk needs to exist imo.

It always adds fear to the endgame.

  • Realized that I start school on Tuesday, so... ######### me I guess.

  • I hate this chapter.

The map is the worst in the game by far (I can't even appreciate the visuals because I know that they caused the framerate issues for so long and still do), Nemesis is definitely underpowered and uninspired with awful addons and pretty middle-of-the-road perks (apart from the pile of ######### that is Hysteria), and while I like Jill and Leon a whole lot, especially their perks, even they can't make up for the completely horrible interpretation of what is the more important bits of this chapter.

This is the worst chapter in the game, by far.

  • Holy #########! They actually made someone other than Wraith want to use PWYF!

    It's a miracle!

  • As much as I wish I could defend Darkness Among Us' trailer, I can't. It has everything wrong except for the map itself I suppose.

Legion being primarily a disguise Killer in the trailer is one thing, BUT JEFF ISN'T EVEN THERE! Why was David there? Come on! F Tier trailer, the worst of the worst.

And the coolest one goes to the Resident Evil trailer, because Meg being thrown into the car is honestly one of the funniest things ever.

I guess scariest can be for Descend Beyond.

  • Probably just Ghostface from his original PTB to live, I guess, because it proved how fast BHVR can make a good balance change if they want to.

They saw the outcry from the PTB about how useless he was, and then buffed him accordingly.

And then later they gave him Undetectable, so even Object Of Obsession wasn't something that could just ######### him over entirely. Both of these were great buffs.

Granted, he's still in the bottom 5 weakest Killers, but it just amazes me that they fixed him so fast after an embarrassingly bad start.

  • image.png

This is completely inaccurate. I'm worthless in DBD.

  • I'm sad that the bloodhunt is starting a few days after I move to Omaha but at least console players will get the bloodhunt as a sort of compensation.

I hope all of you do your best to find those crowns so the bloodhunt can last longer!

really play with your food is bad? i would think that increased movement speed for just losing a chase would be really strong

It sounds strong, until you realize that the time you lost from finding the obsession and losing that chase is probably more than the time you save with 5% faster movement speed per token, especially since you lose tokens for doing damn near anything. Doctor's Shock? Lose a token. Plague's Vile Purge? Lose a token. Throw a single knife as Trickster? Lose a token.

Twins used to have good synergy, since you could M1 the obsession and then release Victor to instantly get a PWYF token and preserve it by Victor not counting as a special attack, but they shadow nerfed it in a recent patch if I remember correctly so now Victor takes a PWYF token with Pounces.

Because it's illegal for this niche perk to work well on anybody, am I right?

A lot of Killer obsession perks are just not very good...

Dead Man's Switch, Dying Light, Furtive Chase, Play With Your Food (on certain Killers due to the Basic and Special Attack requirement), New Remember Me...

PWYF is bad on everyone except arguably Wraith because he gets tokens fast.

Twins, Doctor and Plague all got nerfed in a way related to PWYF so it can't be used well on them. It's not good on anyone overall because even Wraith will be wasting time to get tokens.

  • @DelsKibara said:

Dead Man's Switch is what Gen Regression is to as Furtive Chase is a stealth perk.

It's just way too hard to use and when you do get to use it, it has an incredibly underwhelming effect.

Funny that both are obsession perks too...

  • In an incredibly specific build, it's underwhelming.

Outside of that, it's incredibly niche and incredibly bad even in that niche.

  • I want either The Leprechaun from the Leprechaun series (yes the one with Warwick Davis) or The Scissorman from Clock Tower.

Either of these would be instant mains for me unless their power was misery to use.

  • I would personally say that this is an incredibly close argument between Hillbilly and Wraith. Trapper is clearly not amongst the level of these two.

Billy's mobility is technically far better, but it's a lot more limited than Wraith's.

Billy can technically cut off chases far faster, but this depends heavily on the loop you're at and might not even work on some loops. Wraith's is more consistent but slower.

Wraith's stealth allows him to approach easier than Billy and still has mobility (unless of course we include double Iri Hillbilly which is a lot more costly still and still requires 2 seconds of a sprint, etc).

Wraith shines on indoor maps while Hillbilly suffers from them. Might be a minor point, but when 2 of the most Survivor sided maps (imo, RPD and Gideon are amongst the most broken maps) are indoors, I think it's fair enough to mention.

Personally, I feel like I need to go with Wraith, because of more reliable mobility. There aren't a whole lot of maps that Hillbilly can just run across the map on unless he runs both of the turning addons and the map reworks feel like they're nerfing Hillbilly with each one. Plus, Wraith can shore up his issues a bit by running chase perks like Enduring and Spirit Fury. Hillbilly can kind of do this too, and Endfury on Hillbilly is nothing to scoff at, but people are a lot more inclined to predrop against Hillbilly which weakens the potential you can get from the combo.

They're both really good, but I'm gonna have to go with Wraith for these points and a few others like him heavily encouraging heals due to his good approach.

  • Just you wait for that one moment where someone finishes the final gen in your face and tries to use a window with the Adrenaline boost.

Then you'll be upset that you never brought Cruel Limits.

In all seriousness, not really. It's not a great perk.

  • This is why Jeff is the best Survivor.

  • Ormond is just my favourite map in general and for some reason it feels very good for Trickster. I don't really know why, but I guess it's because a lot of the loops are short walls or open spaces.

  • The Photographer, a man who's obsessed over countless victims in his life, follows that path in the Realm of The Entity with his power, Through A Visionary's Lens.

Terror Radius - 24 meters (I think this would be fair because he kind of needs a bit less of a heads up than most for his power to work)

    Movement speed - 4.6 m/s.

    Through A Visionary's Lens:

The Photographer spent countless hours capturing the beauty of his victims long before he actually killed them, sometimes even dragging his focus across years. He enjoyed watching them squirm in the constant feeling of being watched.

This entire power is about obsessions.

Press the power button to aim a camera and from there, press the attack button to take a photo, which will slowly increase the Obsession Level of any Survivor that can be mostly seen within the photo (hopefully wouldn't be too finnicky like with Ghostface's reveal). The range of the camera is unlimited, but it will not give a Survivor Obsession Points if they are in a chase with you, meaning you might want to "snipe" people with the camera.

To start with, every Survivor is Obsession Level 1. There are 5 Obsession Levels when going up against the Photographer.

Taking a photo of a Survivor will give them 3 Obsession Points. Levelling up a Survivor's Obsession Level will reset the Obsession Points they have accumulated (so if you go from Level 1 to 2, you don't need only 6 more points, but all 9, if that makes sense).

Obsession Level 1 is completely normal Survivor, doesn't change anything. 3 Obsession Points to level up to Obsession Level 2.

Obsession Level 2 is mostly normal, but The Photographer will reduce the recovery time of stuns from a Survivor in Obsession Level 2 and beyond by 75% (cannot stack with Enduring). 9 Obsession Points to level up to Obsession Level 3.

Obsession Level 3 keeps the same thing from Obsession Level 2, but also allows The Photographer to break pallets and generators 25% faster when in a chase with a Survivor who is in Obsession Level 3 and beyond. 15 Obsession Points to level up to Obsession Level 4.

Obsession Level 4 is the same as the prior levels, but additionally reveals the aura of Survivors in Obsession Level 4 who perform a fast vault for 5 seconds afterwards and reveals the auras of Survivors within Obsession Level 4 whenever they perform an altruistic action. 30 Obsession Points to level up to Obsession Level 5.

Obsession Level 5 is the final level, and the most dangerous. It keeps all of the same benefits for The Photographer as Obsession Levels 2, 3 and 4, but additionally will permanently afflict Exposed onto the Survivor and allow The Photographer to kill that Survivor by his own hand.

There are other ways to increase the Obsession Points of the Survivors. Being stunned will give 1 Obsession Point (3 if it's Head On or DS, just because I feel like being cheeky with that) and being Blinded will give the Survivor 3 Obsession Points.

Obsession Points can be removed by hiding in a locker. Each Obsession Point will be removed for every 12 seconds spent in a locker.

    (Sorry that this is long)

Unfortunately it seems that way. A lot of these RPD complaints would likely go away if it showed up because people would be able to learn the map.

The complaints wouldn't go away if people learnt the map. There's nothing to learn about holding W through massively long corridors that limit almost every Killer's power in some way, and then a few unsafe pallets with a few god pallets too.

Everything wrong with DBD can be found in RPD.

(Oh also the map still causes crashes)

You say that, but if he receives his buffs, you would essentially see him more often & also a stronger variant.

Wouldn't that make you, hate him more, you say he is not fun to go against?

I doubt just giving him this buff would make me see him significantly more often.

Honestly, this might arguably make him more fun to go against because he spends less time setting up so the chases can actually begin earlier. Chases are already the most fun part of the game and you're most likely going to still be on the side of the map without any traps. It's boring to just hold M1 for 3 gens and then he's set up a web at the opposite 3-gen so it's a slog.

  • I mean, he wasn't already that fun to go against before... so really I wouldn't care.

  • This is unrelated, but those stats about the most played Survivor is very clearly false. We all know the real ranking is:

    image.png

  • Have about 800 hours on Switch.

    It's, uh... not great.

  • What I want is a chef. I don't give a ######### what their power is, give me a chef or at least some kind of food-based Killer. No, Bubba does not count.

What I think we're gonna get is probably another Killer that's just not very fun to go against or unbearable to play as. Their track record for making fun to play as and fun to play against Killers has been awful ever since Spirit, to be honest.

  • I really like Jake, Nea and Adam's reworks. Those are the top three for me. Ace is alright too. Kate's is fine, I guess. I'm not a big fan of the other ones.

I'm just glad they didn't change Jeff.

  • Killers: Ghostface (don't call me insane, he's just one of the more human and less psychotic people) and Joey.

Survivors: I mean, I could see myself dating any of the Survivors, but I think I'd most want to date Jake, Jeff and Zarina.

  • I can't imagine myself using any of Nemesis' Perks seriously.

One is just kind of pathetic (Hysteria), one gives alright information at the start but does nothing else afterwards, and is outshined by another better perk (Lethal Pursuer), and the last makes you actively want to waste your time for a mediocre regression effect (Eruption).

It's really just copy and paste of the 4th anniversary with the difference that we have to "earn" these really cool charms and recolours for Wraith and David ☻

This is my reaction to the """"event"""":

    https://youtu.be/vwrE3_JsuqM

Same. I really doubt that, with how surprisingly bitter the community can be during events, we're getting these recolours for Wraith and David. I feel like we'll be lucky to even get this first milestone.

  • Trickster is among the worst Killers in the game, often considered the worst by some. If you can't deal with Trickster, holy hell I cannot wait to see how poorly you do against Plague, Huntress and Deathslinger.

I've said it before. Why can't they just design some versions of the current realms? They like 'easy' and half of the work is already done for them.

If you're saying add a new map for a pre-existing realm along with that realm being reworked, like with Clown or Plague's maps, then yeah, I completely agree.

  • @Phasmamain said:

Honestly the longer it’s disabled the better. The map is completely garbage

I whole-heartedly agree with this. There hasn't been a good "new" map in a while, and yes I am counting the Realm Beyond's Reworks when I say that.

  • Jeff is still the best Survivor they've ever made, in my opinion.

  • Honestly, if you asked me this before late 2020, I would've said Haddonfield or Badham, easily.

But now, sadly, it's Gideon Meat Plant and Coldwind. They ruined both of these maps for me, even if Gideon was already kind of unfun. Who thought that The Game's rework should've gone out like that? It's insanely frustrating to play on and I audibly groan whenever I go on it.

Coldwind is decent visually, but I can't really compliment that when the gameplay is atrocious to me.

  • I agree. Coldwind is awful now.

  • For Survivor, Aftercare. The info it gives me is immensely useful.

For Killer, I gotta admit that it's Coup De Grace. The times that this perk pays off are so satisfying.

  • I mean, I was fully expecting this to be a real thread about complaining about Trapper. There was a thread recently about Legion needing to be nerfed.

My day's okay. I've not been happy this week due to self-isolation but it hasn't been too bad.

  • Favourite Addon: Stolen Sketch Book. Makes Legion so much less frustrating sometimes.

Favourite Addon Combination: Stolen Sketch Book and Mural Sketch, just so I can have long enough Frenzy time to not get countered by Survivors that started holding W outside of 12 meters of me.

  • Pam and Jim (he and she).

    They're constantly pranking people.

  • I'll always love Farmer John and his content. Apart from him, Scott, Otz and Yerv are my other top picks.

  • David and Ash are tied in my opinion.

With David, you both lose a health state and kind of get another health state, but pick people up faster.

With Ash, you're pretty much playing perkless for most of the game because his perks are all so situational and crap.

  • Ah yes, Legion in the meta. The worst killer in the game is meta.

  • That one bug with like Pig and Spirit (they're the two Killers I remember it on anyway) which made them stretch and A-Pose for a bit after falling from a tall height.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 13
