You need around 138,320,000 bloodpoints to get from P9 to P100 (1,520,000 bloodpoints per prestige)
The patch was out for 9 days
Do you think is believable that they earnt 15,000,000 bloodpoints per day? (it would be higher, but let's say they already had around 3,320,000 bloodpoints in "savings", which is an awful lot)

I'm glad they lowered it too and I agree with you as well that it should cost anything or at the very least 7k....what I was confused about was people still acting like it's the end of the world for 20k bp....
I mean, do you think is right that anyone should be FORCED to throw out 20k bloodpoints and getting nothing in return?
I could understand the prestige having a cost until you're prestige 9 (you unlock the perks, the cosmetics and the charms) even though it still doesn't sit too right with me
But having to throw out those 20k after prestige 9? Why? To be able to KEEP PLAYING? What's next, having to pay 500 bloodpoints to generate each level of the bloodweb? It's 500 bloodpoints, why should you care?

You ever try to push for a policy change at work, but someone higher up is completely resistant to change and insists on keeping it the way it was? And even when you do get approval to change it, it gets sabotaged from up above so it's not really different in any meaningful way? Seems like that's happening with the "grind reduction". Devs know it should be reduced or non-existent, but someone very important loves a stupid grind more than anything.
Best way anyone ever tried to describe this situation ♥️
And I think it's the same that happened on other topics as well

I got it! Made the killer miss while they were caring a survivor, and it was after I already got hit using DH in that scenario. Thank you.
Yeah, challenges that require you to "Do X with Perk Y" work always like that, you simply need to do the thing while the perk is equipped, you don't actually need to use that perk

Ok it won't we a skin, it won't a cosmetic. But there still no bragging ...
Nah, they won't even aknowledge the whole situation, why would they care about the people who invested more time in the game?
Shameful

Or just as a reminder on what challenge you have during the 360 at the beginning of every match. I often forget what I need to do if queues are 5min.
That would be even less than the minimum acceptable, but still a minor improvement
-
@LapisInfernalis said:
I would rather implement it as challenge observer.
Got a challenge where you need co-op? It notifies you after you did the action how much you still need to do.
Please BHVR, grant this man's wish
I beg of you
It would be enough to add the information in the screen that you see when you press "ESC" while in-game, which is 80% empty right now
-
You don't need to use DH to avoid the hit unless I'm mistaken, you just need it equipped
Spinning the killer, vaulting a window or jumping in a locker should work just fine
-
I think the description of the outfit is hinting to that along with her charms, isn't it?
Anyway, the more I look to that head cosmetic the more I see this

I hate the fact the chat filter censor words that are PART OF THE GAME.
Other day I tried saying I thought the survivors had Slippery Meat after 3 self unhooks... the word "slippery" got censored for some reason. You can't even say your perks' names now.
Yeah, usually it censors survivor and killer names as well
I don't understand how something that works THIS bad is good for the game
I'd prefer 100 times to see the actual slurs and for players who spit them out to be banned over this crap
-
Mmmmm..
Empathic connection could be a nice addition to my build..
Distortion, Lucky Break, Lithe, Empathic Connection
I'll try it some time
-
I guess that's it for me guys, I'll be banned since I couldn't explain that I downed this guy because I had "Rancor"
-
I've been using Lithe, Distortion, Lucky Break and whatever perk helps me with the challenge I need to do in the match.
Lithe I always used, it has always been my favourite Exhaustion perk
Distortion I've been using for a while now, especially since they added Lethal Pursuer (I didn't realized they were removing the 4th token they had added recently, mfers)
Lucky Break is nice, now that you can recharge it it's a little bit better, although I'd say it needs to be tweaked a little bit more to be very good
-
Trickster, Pyramid Head, Nemesis
Trickster: Don't like him, don't like playing against him, am I supposed to dodge 44 knifes shot in full auto mode?
Pyramid Head: For the lose-lose situations at pallets and windows, it's has become better but still
Nemesis: See above, except he has the zombies AI that I don't know why, but in my matches are ALWAYS pressuring gens somehow

I do at least like the overall quality and appearance of Adams skins and even though the most recent rift skin is a recolor the shirt seems distinct enough for me.
but yeah. I am really tired of Feng/Kate/Meg/Dwight cosmetics. (Funnily enough i still don’t have a Meg outfit I really like to use…)
That's what aggravates the thing though
You can't say "Well they can't seem to find good ideas for other characters" because in reality, BHVR's ability to come up with interesting skins is there, no matter who they are designing a skin for
It's just..character popularity, that's all
-
@Mooks said:

It’s even worse because Kate and Meg actually get an outfit either way 💀
Yeah, I understand it's because they sell more than other survivors, but cmon..literally half of Adam sets in the store are recolors of the basic version..
-
IDK why they decided to group the cosmetics and have us vote for either one whole group or another
There could have been multiple questions, like "Choose the event outfit for the killer, Option A, Dredge, Option B, Hillbilly" and so on
I'm saying that because I chose Group A solely for that Dredge skin, that's the only one that caught my eye, but if I had to choose between a Kate skin and an Adam one I would have chosen Adam. How many more outfits does Kate need?

They literally couldn't. As a part of the separation from the agreement with Netflix, they had to change the perk titles (and some people who didn't buy the DLC see different perk icons that don't depict the characters). It was a legal obligation. Sorry.
See, I'm not sure it was legal obligation to specifically unlink the perks from the characters, because like for the icons and the perk description, I believe they could have made an exception
After all, prestiging still gives you the bloody cosmetics and perk charms, so why should perks be different?

The grind was not reduced OMG.
It was devs propaganda that got mathemtically debunked multiple times.
The only good thing it brought was QOL change for veterans. That's ALL
It was reduced a little bit
Not 75% like they love to claim, but a little bit it was
Or at least it would have been, if they had left the bbq and wglf bonuses alone

The real issue I had with the devs making the statement that they didn’t want players picking a perk just for the BP bonus was that nobody in the player base was claiming that this was a problem. BHVR just decided for themselves that it was a “problem” that needed to be fixed and forced the change on us because of “reasons”. They know that the grind is a big reason to keep people playing, so they had to counterbalance the other grind “reductions” they made with other things that made the grind worse again like removing the BP bonuses of BBQ and WGLF and the prestige “taxes”. It’s especially bad now for players like me who mostly spend BP on trying to get useful items and add-ons. Now I have to work twice as hard to get the items and add-one I want as I waste most of my BP on the worthless crap in the bloodwebs.
Some killers were saying that they run BBQ only for the bloodpoint bonus
But again, it was their choice to run it so I didn't really see an issue with that, they'd have probably been fine with the grind reduction
-
@HeyItsQuiet said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3073286#Comment_3073286
... That's literally what I said. They made them universally available so players could still access the perks post-removal.
It just is what it is. The removal was unexpected and they can't plan the entire game's future around one DLC.
But they could have made a simple exception for those characters, it's not like they're planning the future of the game based on the DLC
Like, they already have exceptions like that in place (perk icon and description), so it shouldn't be something unheard of?

THEY NEED TO FINALLY REALISE - People ran BP perks because it was F***ING NECESSARY considering how bad the grind is. THEY DIDNT REDUCE IT!! they reduced it for VETERANS ONLY. New players are screwed COMPLETELY
Totally agree
The bloodpoints incentive would have been a good move IF the bonuses from WGLF and BBQ were baked into the basekit

... As I said, yes they did do an update about changing it. Past me misunderstood it. Happens. I can still be angy about it. And I still stand that they could've done a final announcement about it.
I'm not saying how you should feel, you can feel angy how much you want.
I'm saying that the July update that I posted WAS the final announcement, why would they need to do another one after that if nothing changed?
-
The Dredge skin is the only one that caught my eye.
It's listed as "Event skin" so it better be free, I don't care about buying skins in the store.

@hastarkis said:
It is killswitched because it is broken and didn't apply correctly.
Still, there might be times in which there is no bonus incentive
And even if it's always there, now you're forced to play a role you DIDN'T want to play, or miss out on the bonus bloodpoints
Because being forced to use a perk only for the bloodpoints is wrong, but being forced to play a role for the same reason is totally fine ;)

My suggestion is the characters that are lv50 should be treated as prestige 3 as well as the characters that were just prestige 1.
Would you be fine with all your inventory being reset in order to gain prestige 3? Because that's what would have happened if you prestiged before the update.
@Milo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3073787#Comment_3073787
You did technically lose a bunch of bloodpoints and time. I, for one, was not aware that Prestige 1 would equal New Prestige 3 so I did not prestige any of my lvl 50 characters.
That's on you, it's not like they hid the information and kept it a secret.
-
Nearly everyone expected something like that.
Paulie Esther as well mentioned it, because that's what was announced.
-
They are already at the bottom of the list, just like the moon offerings, the fact that you don't lose those items anymore is actually a perk in my eyes.
But yeah, once they give us the option to recycle items and offering I'll be more than happy
-
@HeyItsQuiet said:
I'm not getting the issue. They were forced to make the ST perks "universal" to prevent new players from being locked out of those perks due to the inability to purchase ST characters anymore.
Pretty sure that was done to make the perks available to everyone since you weren't able to buy those characters anymore
Still, they could have made an exception for those 3 characters and kept both behaviours: the perks show up in the bloodwebs like general perks, but if you prestige Nancy you automatically unlock her perks, for example
Now basically the first 3 prestige levels give you nothing for them
-
@Eareland said:

this because they are universal perks now? Not happy.
tbf, should've warned to not waste BPS on Stranger Things characters, because you are getting nothing.
DLC is still DLC.
Not at all, it would have been pretty simple to make an exception for 3 characters.
I know they said it before the update, but it still doesn't really seem like the best solution.
-
Btw Titan with a Kanabo is a big nope for me
The best part?
In the trailer they shared on Twitter Oni uses the crystal sword instead of the kanabo when transforming.
When I saw it initially I was like "Oh nice, they got around and changed how the power looks as well!"
And then I checked the in-game store 🤷♂️
-
Yeah, pretty dumb
It would have been better to bake the WGLF and BBQ bonus in the basekit AND offer the matchmaking incentive
But that would have made too much sense, so it's a no from BHVR
-
@BubbleBuster said:
just cancel the p3 reward and give people that reach lv 100 prestige on a character that as a character portrait.
Or, listen to this
Either give the reward visible to other that was promised, or compensate this whole situation sith some bloodpoints.
Like, we didn't get the bragging rights from the reward, and we didn't even get the bonus prestige levels from the catch up mechanic, at least give us some lousy bloodpoints..

@GoodBoyKaru said:

No, it's actually far more relevant than the perk saying "Nancy Wheeler" on it.
We get it, you want to be right, but the devs have been incredibly clear that from the 21st November onwards there would be no perks attached to Nancy Wheeler, Steve Harrington, and The Demogorgon, with them all joining the General Pool of Perks.
Still, BHVR took a stupid decision if you ask me.
They could have simply made an "exception" for these characters and their perks
-
After seeing how they're treating players who put the most effort in their game, I don't think they really care.
P3 reward is nothing like what was announced initially.
People who are P3 and have all the perks are being screwed over by the prestige catch up mechanic.
Not a word from BHVR about these topics. Not even an acknowledgment apart from the "We said it was not going to be a cosmetic".
-
@Zeidoktor said:
People who P3 are getting free levels. They're getting 6 extra levels. Someone who never prestiged at all is going to be P6, tops. You may have a point is not fair they aren't also getting the perk tier levels, but after P9 those prestiges are just empty levels anyway so it doesn't effect anything.
but after P9 those prestiges are just empty levels anyway so it doesn't effect anything.
So why not giving them out to people who deserve it? Why limiting it, creating a sense of injustice, where there is no reason to do so?
And after P9, prestiging still costs 20k bloodpoints, so people who could have been P15 need to spend 60k more bloodpoints per character to reach the prestige level they were supposed to be at.
Multiply the 60k for the number of characters in the game (59) that someone could have at P3 and you get.. 3.540.000 bloodpoints spent in "prestige fees"
(and BTW "You may have a point is not fair they aren't also getting the perk tier levels" THIS is the only thing I'm complaining about)
-
@Seraphor said:
Because this is the new progression system. It would hardly be a brand new system for everyone to experience if we all started at P85 would it? It's supposed to give older players something new to grind for (P100), while making the current goals (bloody clothes etc.) easier for newer players.
I mean, considering that the maximum Prestige level you could get if they removed the cap is 15, does your argument stand?
@Zeidoktor said:
Alternatively, why go past P9? That's where any rewards you might get end so there's no real reason to care by that point and it's as good a starting point as any for people who've earned that.
Because people spent those bloodpoints, and it's fair to implement the same catch up mechanic for everyone?
Like, why are people who never prestiged getting free prestige levels based on the perks they unlocked but people who P3 aren't? What's the reason?
-

Yes, I do wish he had made more of a point of it. Most seem to just be brushing it under the rug as another under-delivery.
Yeah, that's what more frustrating about this
The fact that they find acceptable to "ignore" all the effort you could have made in addition to get to P3 doesn't sit right with me either.
If people are gaining prestige levels based on the number of perk tiers they have unlocked, why people who got to P3 before getting all the perks aren't getting the same treatment? It seems like the more you were dedicated to DBD, the less your efforts are valued.

I never saw Paulie comment on it, and definitely don't remember him ever making a point of it being a problem. Do you know which video this was?
https://youtu.be/EU6ELOJSJII?t=1549
He mentioned it first when the PTB dropped (you can see in the comments that he actually expresses a couple of thoughts about it as well)
https://youtu.be/APhw3E49Vz4?t=974
Then a couple of days ago he read the July update and asked again whether other people could see it or not, and still in the comments makes more remarks
Of course, he doesn't really makes a point of it being a problem, but the fact that even he looks disappointed by it tells a lot about the "reward"
-
I usually have a habit of spending my bloodpoints when i'm close to the bloodpoint cap
I dread the release of the mid-chapter because spending 2 million bloodpoints in the current system will take at least 10 minutes of point-and-click gameplay.
At least make it so that buying a node is instantaneous instead of having to hold down for half a second.

You're welcome. I just wish more people would bring attention to it. The more people voice their dissatisfaction, the more likely a response is. Especially if a content creator makes a point of it.
Same here
I don't understand why many people suddenly settled for the better looking underwhelming reward.
Yes, it looks better, no, it's not the proper "reward" that was promised
(BTW I think PauleEsther mentioned this in one of his videos, and he's a Fog Whisperer)

@TAG said:
I'd say that after a Survivor has been on the ground in the Dying State for 2 minutes total (the equivalent of being one-hooked), they should be able to insta-kill themself on the ground so they can leave the trial early.
A similar one, since in your case the killer could be looking for the survivor but they might be crawling around to avoid being hooked:
If a survivor in the Dying State has 3 crows circling above their head, they can hold down a button to speed up the bleed out timer. (3 crows need 100 seconds to spawn, so it's very similar to your proposed 2 minutes)
That way the killer knows where the survivor is, and they have a last chance to hook them before they bleed out.
-
You'd have a point if archive outfits were free in the store
But since a single outfit costs more than buying an entire Rift..you can't really complain about it
And if you complete the Rift you get your cells back as well so yeah, nah.
