Well yeah, that situation is completely different. I'm not gonna dodge all Rebecca and Adas when the new DLC is out lol. But using that as a basis for any characters that have been out for a long time is more like an educated guess (which tends to be right most of the time). The only other exceptions I can think of might be if someone is doing a tome challenge or a daily ritual, but that tends to be rare.
Eh, I feel like the more we go forward, the less this is going to hold
Don't get me wrong, I too judge my killer lobbies based on the prestige level of survivors, I just think that it's going to be a lot harder to be accurate with the prediction later on

I hope they don't hide prestige levels. Having prestige 20+ or whatever still isn't an indication of skill or whatever (I had a p19 Steve in my game tonight that DCd on first hook against a terrible Blight). But I'll almost always dodge people that are p0 cuz they likely haven't put much time into the game and probably don't have access to many perks, especially when they have default cosmetics.
But I'll almost always dodge people that are p0 cuz they likely haven't put much time into the game and probably don't have access to many perks, especially when they have default cosmetics.
This is going to mean nothing once a new character gets released
You can say that if you see a "base" game survivor being P0, they are most likely to be inexperienced, but in all other cases you are only making big assumptions
-
My impression is that they don't have nowhere near enough people to check the tickets that are being opened.
I mean, we know cheaters are getting banned after a while so that means that they are checking them and acting accordingly, but this is how my YT page looks like (all the video links have been shared with BHVR in a support ticket)
Look at the last 3 videos.
They're all 3 recordings of players who where clearly cheating. Look at the dates, and then look at the views number. (The video about Dwight was shared with the killer, so probably at least one or two of the views is theirs).
The only explanation I have is that BHVR should hire more people that are able to sift through the reports that are being made, because I don't know in which world is common practice that a ticket opened 43 DAYS AGO has not been checked yet.

The incentive does not apply to offerings.
It did apply before they killswitched it, like @fulltonon said
I think it won't once they enable it again, because BHVR lately likes to screw over their players, especially when talking about bloodpoints, but we'll see how it goes.

It did applied, so it still will be unless they intentionally remove it for some reason.
Well, we were able to be migrated to prestige 12 in the PTB when the new progression system came out, before they decided to intentionally cap that to prestige 9 for some reason.
I'm not trusting BHVR with taking "fair decisions" anymore, so I'll wait and see

Nuuuuu! Don't destroy my perception that blood hunts are THE time to play offerings, bloody party streamers and cake/flan. :<
Well, any time is good time, so feel free to play them!
I'll personally wait until we know whether the bonus incentive applies to offerings as well or not to do so 😉
-
The 1.5 multiplier doesn't apply to offerings, there's no difference between playing a cake or pudding now and playing it once the 1.5 event is over
-
Isn't Legion's breathing always directional?
The mask changes the sound and it's probably easier to hear, but I have to disagree with @CaulDrohn, calling it pay-to-lose is A LOT overdramatic. 😂
-
Or
Bring Counterforce
I'm not sure if the bonus speed is capped or not, but the Legion I used it against was NOT happy with how fast their totems were broken

I used to blame Dc'ers. When I played in Swf's, I would instantly stop talking to a teammate if they ever quit mid-match and remove them as a friend. They would complain that the game was now too killer-sided with the new update and I would just pass this off as whining and bad sportsmanship.
Problem is, survivors are DC'ing for a reason. The latest update was hard on survivors. It actively sought to make the game more boring for them by increasing generator time.
It doesn't make sense to blame people for not doing generators when generator time has increased. It doesn't make sense to blame solo queue teammates when survivor perks have been nerfed. It doesn't make sense to blame people for quitting when the game has become completely unplayable and not fun at all for them.
When I played in Swf's, I would instantly stop talking to a teammate if they ever quit mid-match and remove them as a friend.
I mean, why were they playing in the first place?
At least have the decency of finishing the match and then stop playing after that since you're not liking it.
DCing or giving up ensures that every other survivor in the match has a bad time as well, nothing less, nothing more. Doesn't make sense to keep playing with people that don't understand a simple concept.
And I'm not saying that the game didn't get easier for killer, or that is not more frustrating for survivors. I'm saying that screwing over your teammates (that are in your same boat) is not teamplay, and I wouldn't want to play with someone that pulls that move.

I just hate when you play "fair" and they do it to you. Tonight had this Jill who was on death hook who I kept encountering and so I kept ignoring because I didn't want to tunnel her. What do I get. Her teabagging at the gate and typing LOL to me in end chat.
Guess, more fool me.
Sometimes survivors can be hard of understanding. To drive the point that I'm choosing to spare them I usually down them, pick them up, hit a hook with an M1 and drop them in front of it.
Usually the shame of being left on the ground in front of a hook is enough to let them understand.

Yeah, I was lagging very, VERY bad, they thought I was teleporting around the map intentionally 🤷🏻♂️

The system is locked to P9 - so nobody could go higher than that.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3112613#Comment_3112613
Whilst that's true that you've had to put BP into a character, the system rewards players who have perks unlocked and have prestiged. At level 50 you hadn't prestiged a character and due to not getting many prestige levels it's likely that you did not have too many perks on that character either, as the catch-up mechanic rewarded prestige levels based on the amount of perks that were obtained on that character.
The system is locked to P9 - so nobody could go higher than that
I know I already asked but you didn't really answer so here I go again
Is there a reason that decision was taken, disregarding the number of perks a P3 character had unlocked?
Because it doesn't really seem fair to completely ignore the efforts of those players.
-
A lot less
I'll probably finish the challenges in the new tome level and stop playing until next level is unlocked
And I definitely won't play while there is no Rift active, unless there is an event

the worst thing is that this combo effectively does the same as merciless + pr they tried to nerf (but ended up making it do the same, except just more niche) and DMS is just useless without running it with pain res so now you are basically guaranteed to see people take these perks together, because one of them doesn't work properly without another.
Brilliant, BHVR, just brilliant.
At least with merciless+PR you had the chance to get all 40 skillchecks right and complete the gen..now you're always forced off it unless you let go at the right time..

I feel like im talking to a parrot.
Yes honey i know, thats exactly what i said, no need to repeat it like that 🥰
Ok, what about this.
The fact that some people felt "forced" to run BBQ means that the bloodpoints gained are too low, so removing the bloodpoint bonus without offering a real, consistent alternative to obtain the same result is detrimental, and can't be considered a "good change", no matter how you look at it.
-

I know i could have just ignored bbq in the first place but it just felt necessary
You already had 4 perks to play with.
You simply chose to equip BBQ over something else. Noone forced you to do so.
Stop defending what BHVR did, because even you said that it is sad that it's gone.

@Dead_Harder said:

It would have been a good change if they baked it into the basekit, but they didn't, so it wasn't a good change.

No need to hold to buy something
Mystery boxes show a pop up that closes by itself
Bloodweb generation speed sped up by at least 50%
The animation for the mew prestige icon is totally useless, just show the new icon for half a second and be done with it, I appreciate the efforts of the graphic department and I love animations, but I'm leveling up a character, it's literally the most boring part of the game after waiting in queue, no need to drag the process with an animation

Won't someone think of Badham Street stock brokers? And what would the Entity Revenue Service do if people weren't paying their prestige taxes?
Exactly! Then if everyone were to gain more bloodpoints, we'd had to deal with bloodweb prices inflation! Noone wants that! It's better to keep the match earnings to a minimum and rely on tome challenges/bp offerings/daily challenges to gain actual bloodpoints, it's a lot better that way!
-
That would ruin their precious, totally not made up "bloodpoint economy" since it would give bonus bloodpoints to both sides, and that would be totally 100% bad

The runner could equip a Flashlight and annoy the killer by getting flashlight saves until said killer goes for the runner. In any case, the rest of the team can play relatively save.
Old OoO was an issue because of that. On the stats it didn´t look strong, because of the low escape rate. However it immensely helped SWF.
Eh, flashlight saves are easy to deal with, and it's still a survivor that is not on gens
Old OoO allowed someone to sit on a gen AND help the team by snitching, or stay in chase "forever" because they were able to see the killer's aura, it's not the case anymore even with MoM+OoO
Idk, I think it's going to be strong but it shouldn't be an issue
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3109345#Comment_3109345
Exactly. Thats why the runner will always know where the killer is and tell the team.
But he has to do nothing all game since he's not being chased
There are two options for the "runner":
1- Be in a chase, in this case MoM stay active, but hardly shows the killer's aura
2- Don't be in chase and tell the others where the killer is, in this case they cannot do ANYTHING to keep MoM active
In scenario 1, MoM is clearly useless apart from tanking one hit (normal usage of the perk)
In scenario 2, sure it's a strong combo with OoO, but they are doing nothing to progress the game
-
Get BHVR'd
lol, and they even pin the discussion that suggests NOT claiming the challenges to save bloodpoints
What a shame
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3109336#Comment_3109336
Runners usually never touch gens.
Stop chasing the runner then?
Plus, MoM's aura reading works only if the survivor is further away than 16 metres from the killer, so usually not while in chase
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3108858#Comment_3108858
MoM + OoO = old OoO. SWF will feast on always knowing where the killer is.
At the cost of 1 survivor never, EVER touching a gen/totem/survivor/gate
It's a strong combo, don't get me wrong, but it has a big drawback if you want to keep it active
-
The issue is not DMS+Pain Resonance.
The issue is trying to follow BHVR's logic.
They removed both the notification AND the gen interrupt specifically because they didn't want DMS and Pain Resonance to synergize that much.
They then reverted this change when there was no reason to, nerfing DMS in the process.
How do you justify that?
-
@Bwsted said:
No, it didn't need changed because of it.
It's a very rare interaction, that at worst causes the gen to be blocked once per trial for 20 sec.
Either leave it be, or change Merciless itself, which also prevents other problematic interactions.
Once per trial per gen, when repairs get to 90%, Merciless activates for 15 sec (or whatever you want, currently default for a solo repair is 9 sec). You get the barrage of skill checks and if you miss, or leave the gen before the perk deactivates, it gets blocked. If you complete the gen, the perk deactivates, same as it does currently.
I know, too logical and complicated. Let's deal with it by changing another perk instead and resurrect a combo that was specifically targeted for nerf in the very previous patch.
Or leave it like it is
Their current solution to "solve" the problem is forcing the worst case scenario without giving you the possibility to TRY and deal with the MS skill checks
It didn't need to be changed, especially when doing so brings back an interaction they wanted to remove in the first place, and they had to nerf another perk because of that
-

Wait what? I removed your tag before posting the comment, I was going to tag you to say something like "Just like S4ShadowWolf said, needing to unhook a survivor generates pressure" or something like that but then removed it, #########?
-
Deliverance doesn't work if the killer knows you have it
You'd just increase camping because the killer knows the survivor is going to get off hook by their own
And Deliverance is a way too strong effect to be put in the basekit@S4ShadowWolf
-
"We noticed that Pain Resonance had a curious interaction with Merciless Storm and could force up to 40 skillchecks to appear! So we decided that instead of leaving you the possibility of succeeding all 40 skillchecks you should fail immediately by letting go of the gen! This way we're also bringing back the interaction between Pain Resonance and DMS that we specifically wanted to remove in the previous update! This is much more fun, isn't it? You're welcome"
- BHVR
-
Removing the bonus bloodpoints altogether because of the "role incentives" was never a good idea to begin with.
This situation shows even one more reason to side with the "######### is this bullshit" party
-

do you know which other killer shoots 15 hatchers in a row? trickster. many killers in the game have anti-loop and their anti-loop is base-kit. Corrupt puke plague is no different really. your suppose to use her slow movement when charging, slow projectile speed and slow wind-up to prevent her from getting a clear shot.
plague is easiest killer to utilize line of sight against, even easier than trickster. the flamethrower nature of her ability prevents you from using zig-zag strategies that is commonly used against huntress, deathslinger and to lesser extend trickster. Just like all other ranged killers, high-walls loop are great counter to plague with corrupt puke. Low-walls loops are completely useless against corrupt puke plague. Luckily she does not always have corrupt puke plague so you can use low-walls when she does not have it and high-walls when she does have it unlike other 3.
not cleansing at all is dumb strategy because plague can infect survivors and hook-trade when everyone is injured. Cleansing recklessly in convenient locations just makes your chase harder because your making her corrupt puke active on every chase with no time investment.
plague is balancing act between cleansing at correct times in long distances where getting corrupt puke for plague is impractical as time investment while over-cleansing at times to consume all fountains. plague has 6 fountains, so if 2-3 fountains are active, you can over-cleanse on purpose and consume all 6 fountains. it does give her power automatically, but a single usage of her ability is not instant game over. she has 1 fountain at base-kit corrupted and that 1 fountain is not instant win.
Trickster and Plague with Corrupt Purge are two completely different things, the only thing they have in common is that they are ranged killers, I don't even know why you'd bring this up.
Yes, the perfect play against a Thana Plague is to consume her fountains as fast as possible to force her Corrupt Purge, but good luck with coordinating that.
This doesn't change the fact that using Thana on Plague is a win-win, survivors either stay injured (eating the penalty) or cleanse, giving you the stronger part of your power
-
@GrimReaperJr1232 said:
Dying Light is a win more perk. If you win with it, you would've won without it.
Thana on Plague is a bit... let's say controversial. She disables your ability to heal, true, but part of Plague is she needs to adapt to survivors playstyles. If you have survivors that mass cleanse, Thana does nothing.
So, 2/4 perk slots are passive slowdown. She's gotta be lacking in some department.
Does she's gave Corrupt and regression? Then she's lacking information. No Corrupt? Make her early game as painful as possible. No regression? You gotta power through before she can gain a foothold.
If you have survivors that mass cleanse, Thana does nothing.
Making sure survivors give you a flamethrower for 60 seconds is not exactly "nothing"
Thana on Plague is not at all controversial, it's a win-win
Survivors don't cleanse? Ok, enjoy long repair times
Survivors cleanse? Oh, I guess I'm a Huntress that shoots 15 hatchets in a row for 60 seconds
-
Lol, you're missing a BIG piece.
DS's stun used to increase based on the perk's tier: 3 seconds at lvl1, 4 seconds at lvl2, 5 seconds at lvl3.
Then they decided to remove the interaction with enduring because using a 3 seconds DS againts Enduring meant that the killer was recovering from the stun while the survivor was locked in the DS animation.
You LITERALLY had the time do take 3 steps, and the killer could hit you again. LITERALLY.
Plus yeah, DS was always active, you could use it even if you hadn't been hooked and it didn't disable.

Cookout and Pepper should give 1 stack everytime you hook 1 out of the 4 unique survivors. For every stack you get a stackable 25% bloodpoints? It would go uo to 100%. IDK seems like a fun perk
Survivors should get one too thats called "We're gonna live for infinity."
That would discourage tunneling as well! Nice!
For survivors I was thinking more about something like "We're immortal", and it could give a stack like you suggested when you do something to protect a survivor

I don't understand why they changed the way it looks
It's genuinely confusing on when your token ends
Most likely because now it uses the same effect when you're in the killer's terror radius and the two effects could conflict, like if you're healing in the TR while the killer has nurse's calling, the timer would need to tick down because Distortion activated AND tick up because you're recharging a token at the same time
-
Staple perk in my builds
I've been using it even before the buff to "scout" the killer's build, now with the option to recharge the tokens it's simply so good, even though the duration is not as clear as before

Pretty sure that's because we increased the initial prestige levels to 2 instead of the planned 1.
That doesn't answer the question
In the PTB a survivor could be migrated to Prestige 12, even if the bonus prestige level was 1
What was the point of capping the catch up mechanic to 9, disregarding the number of perks a P3 character has unlocked?
-

I've been playing killer for at least a couple of hours, queue times have not been terrible, around a couple of minutes, I have accumulated the fantastic amount of..283000 bloodpoints

oh Account Shareing? You if you farm 24/7?
The numbers are still those.
15.000.000 bloodpoints per day.
If you play 24 hours non-stop you need 188 perfect matches (40.000 bloodpoints) while using a 100% bonus bp offering EACH DAY.
Those are 8 perfect matches per hour, 7.5 minutes per match. And that is without accounting for queue times. Playing killer? Good luck with finding a match in less than 7 minutes, especially at certain times of the day. Playing survivor? Good luck in getting perfect scores constantly.
Farming matches go far, far longer than 7.5 minutes
