  • And here we are, less than 2 weeks from the announcement on time limited skins, and BHVR already released 2 more time-limited skins.

Ya love to see it. Goes to show that they really love us.

Best part: these were Rift skins, and the main reason people want these skins in the store is because "I wasn't playing at that time". Nice, guess what people will say after these skins leave the store again?

  • I just realized

These are Rift outfits. The main reason people asked for these outfits to be released in the store is "I wasn't playing at the time and I love that skin".

Guess which problem releasing a time-limited skin DOES NOT solve?

BHVR's logic at its finest, once again.

  • Where are all the "It's only for event skins, it's fine guys, why are you upset?" people now?

  • Feels especially bad when you spawn in right beside a pumpkin, or when the glyph closes in front of you while you're uncloaking to interact with it.

  • @IronKnight55 said:

Don't really get why people are upset. Buy the cosmetics if you want them or don't. No one is forcing you to do anything.

Of course I'm not buying these cosmetics

But BHVR is engaging in marketing tactics that are harmful to the community and can potentially turn the game into a bad experience. So yeah, I get why people are upset.

  • @xni6_ said:

the original nerf was to remove the locating and stop it from working with dms. it doesnt do the locating, but apparently merciless storm pain res combo was so ridiculously op that they added back synergy with dms (20 seconds thats avoidable if you hit skillchecks that can only be extended IF killer hooks someone on a scourge once you reach 90% progress on a gen is stronger than guaranteed 30 seconds if you dont let go)

Best part: it forces you to "fail" Merciless Storm as well since you let go of the gen 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • @Ghoste said:

Because the internet told you to. Old prestige was never worth it, especially with the stockpiles of items many people have. Live and you learn, my dude.

Better put: because BHVR tricked us by hiding this "Phase 2" of the catch up mechanic at the time.

A recolor of the same plague skin we’ve gotten 3 times now.

Correction: the same recolor that is available in the Rift

You can't say they gave you a skin you already have if you haven't unlocked it yet

  • The First rift was probably the best one in terms of rewards

3 killer original sets (Trapper, Wraith, Nurse) one of them being an event outfit

    1 killer recolor set (Hillbilly)

4 spare killer recolor pieces (2 Hag, 2 Huntress)

3 Surv original sets (Dwight, Claudette, Jake)

    1 Surv recolor set (Meg)

4 spare surv recolor pieces (2 nea, 2 david)

Every empty cell of the Rift had Blighted Serum, that you could use to buy any existing Halloween event outfit (up to 6 pieces, or two full outfits)

It doesn't get better than that.

Honorable mention the second Rift, just because of the Mr. Puddles outfit for Clown

But why are people not upset about other games for doing it then?

Fortnite for example, is very popular. It has over 1,000 skins and NONE of them are available permanently. All of them are on a rotating basis and are only available for a limited time in the Item Shop until their return. That might be 30 days or it might be 2 years.

Yes, Fortnite is a free game, but I don't think a game needs to be free to follow this practice when it comes to cosmetics. Although I do feel that DBD should be a free game and hope it takes that route eventually.

I am upset with Fortnite and I don't even play it. It's one of the games that set the bar low for the gaming industry, and of course now the majority of games are following suit given that Fortnite showed what works.

People should be angry about FOMO.

People should be angry at P2W.

People should be angry at lootboxes.

But some people tend to accept the "new norm", even when the new norm is 100% impacting them negatively. Doesn't mean I or other people have to accept it as well.

  • @MaTtRoSiTy said:

If people don't get sucked into wasting their money on cosmetics then this will never be an issue. I get it, I have wasted my money on cosmetics in the past but I will only take the free ones now.

BHVR are out to make money which is fair enough, so of course they are going to engage in tactics to extract money wherever they can while not completely destroying their reputation with the player base.

Everyone understands that BHVR needs money to work.

Everyone is free to criticize the tactics that are being used to do so.

You want to charge more for a Legendary skin that offers more than a regular skin? Go ahead buddy, that's totally fair

You improve the quality of your work to push people towards buying more skins? Absolutely, 100% agree on that

You offer something that was not present in the game before, and start selling it? (Like, they could start selling charms) Sure, why not?

You try and leverage FOMO in the community to get more sales out of a regular skin that has no right in being time limited and (we don't know yet) maybe exclusive? That's a ######### no my friend, you are rightfully being outed as greedy.

If you bought it thinking you got an exclusive item after they've said they will never again do exclusive items, well... that's not you being screwed. I bought the Jane outfit, not sure if I will buy the Dwight one or not yet. If next year they return, that's great. I didn't buy the Jane outfit for some entitled "I have something you will never have" mentality...

While it's true we won't know until they confirm it officially, I'd rather give them the benefit of the doubt than look at as so many are, they are shady AF ***holes just looking to screw over their players however they can.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt many times in the past.

After a while you lose that benefit if you keep screwing up 😊

And the fact that we don't know yet officially, even though the community has been waiting for an answer since they announced the skins is already enough for me to understand what they are doing. Again, saying "Yes, they'll be back next year" would be enough, but they're restraining themselves because:

    A) It would hurt their sales too much.

    B) They haven't decided yet, and they'll base that decision on how well the skins sell or how badly the community keeps complaining.

That's what I am thinking since the Midnight Grove Collection from last year (was in the Halloween Rift) is back. So they are probably just doing these as seasonal ones. Which is fine IMO. Its not like you will NEVER be able to get them again.

Until they don't confirm that officially, we can't know for sure.

How much do you think it would cost them to confirm or deny this doubt?

They'll probably confirm that they'll be back, but only AFTER the 3rd of November, so that if you bought them thinking you got an exclusive item, you're screwed. Fun tactics, huh?

yeah, i just dont remember any of the ones in question having different thresholds they reached. they were all <70 which is why i just considered them a wash, especially since they were all survivors with perks i don't use. Thankfully every single killer i have unlocked is at least p3 right now with this change, so i'm particularly glad there.

That said, I honestly don't see much value in anything over 9. 9 gives you everything short of the charm you get in exchange for an absolutely massive grind, but i've never really understood the bragging rights side of prestiges in general.

There might not be much value in prestiging over level 9, sure, but it always makes me question the logic that BHVR uses when implementing stuff when they do sloppy things like this one.

Like, what's the logic they follow when doing certain things? Why weren't they more considerate towards certain people? Are they realizing their inconsistencies or does everything look fine for them? The fact that most of the time they try to either totally dodge or straight up ignore certain questions baffles me everytime.

Like, watch what happened with time-limited cosmetics. Do we know if next year they'll be back? We don't. Not a single word on the matter from ANY mod. I'm slightly tired of them acting like this.

My second wave catchups are all prestige 2-3, up from p0. They do seem a little inconsistent though, like how some are 3 and others are 2, but all were p0L50 when the prestige rework dropped initially. No P8's tho, just my old p3-upgraded-to-p9 megathan from before the change.

It depends from how many perks you had before the first catch-up.

BHVR assigned 1 prestige level for every 70 perks (perk tiers, more specifically) you had unlocked, my examples were about characters who had all perks unlocked before the first catch-up.

  • @Peanits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3225119#Comment_3225119

This is the second part of the mechanic that gave you bonus prestige levels for characters you had prestiged before the progression overhaul. At the time, characters that were level 50 were not granted bonus prestiges even though they could have been prestiged at any time. This update fixes that by giving characters that could have been prestiged but weren't the bonus prestige levels anyway.

e.g. if someone was taking a break from the game at the time and didn't prestige their level 50 characters.

A character that was P3-50 was already at the maximum for the prestige catchup mechanic, so they would have been appropriated awarded bonus prestige levels when 6.1.0 released. Only characters that were level 50 and prestige 0, 1, or 2 are eligible for this second round.

    I understood that

I'm questioning the logic behind how it was applied.

And not only this second prestige catch-up mechanic, but the first one as well.

    If you do the math:

Characters who were P0 level 50 with all perks were brought to P8 after this second catch up mechanic

Characters who were P1 level 50 with all perks were brought to Prestige 11

Characters who were P2 level 50 with all perks were brought to Prestige 11 (exactly the same as P1 characters, which feels already weird)

But the best part is: characters who were P3 level 50 with all perks were brought to P9! Even lower than P1 characters!

Does it really makes sense to you?

My issues are: why was the first catch-up mechanic capped at P9 when there was no apparent reason to do so, and why were people who were P3 excluded by this second catch-up mechanic when there was no apparent reason to do so?

When the devs first announced the rift they said 6 months after the rift the cosmetics would be available in store

They said most cosmetics would become available in the store after a minimum period of 6 months. Most != all. It's entirely possible that the things that will not become available are the charms but to my knowledge it has never been clarified.

And the updated website doesn't even say that anymore (at the very least I can't find this information anymore), so it's also entirely possible that going forward nothing will become available in the store.

    https://deadbydaylight.com/news/haunted-by-daylight-store-content

The Tricks and Treats Collection and Midnight Grove Collection will be in the Dead by Daylight store from October 11th to November 3rd, 11 ET.

So they are time limited, but it doesn't say that they won't return next year. Though it also doesn't say that they will return. Has there been any official statement yet?

    🦆🦂

So they are time limited, but it doesn't say that they won't return next year. Though it also doesn't say that they will return. Has there been any official statement yet?

    No.

    That's the worst part.

We don't know basically anything about this thing, and BHVR apparently doesn't care enough to clarify these things before enough people panic-buy the skins.

I bet they'll clarify that the skins will return next year or that they'll bring them back in the future, maybe even that they'll be purchasable with shards as well, but they'll do it only right after the time-limited sale ends.

  • @Rizzo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3225119#Comment_3225119

I don't have that information, however I assume that those characters would just reach P9 that was stated as the limit for the catch-up system with the release of 6.1.0 without needing the 2 additional prestiges.

Yeah, but since even both a P1 and a P2 characters were able to reach P9 if they had all perks, why would they get the 2 additional levels as well?

Plus, weren't the 2 bonus prestige levels given to "repay" the addons/items/offerings that were lost in order to prestige? Giving them to people who didn't prestige feels kinda..strange?

  • @Rizzo said:

The catch-up system was for characters that were level 50 and prestige 0, 1, or 2 as of the 6.1.0 patch, so my guess is that their Pyramid Head was the only character that had those parameters.

Care to give a reason why character at P3 level 50 were ignored? Seems like they got the short end of the stick with all this "New Prestige system" to be fair..

  • It's not a case that all Resident Evil skins are sets, but none of them have a tangible reason to be one (maybe blighted Nemesis might be the only warranted one)

Capcom doesn't want you to be able to mix and match skins in DBD, and it shows.

  • Trickster already had his dedicated tome, so there's a chance you'll be able to buy Oni and Artist at a discount at a later date, when their tome is released.

I'd go for Oni though, because of the three it's the one I'd prefer playing

  • @GoshJosh said:

There is no FOMO when it comes to DbD cosmetics; just the false appearance of it, only for them to be available to all players a little later. Let's not forget about the 'exclusive' Dwightcrow charm.

If you never clarify whether something will return or not after the initially allotted timeframe it's still inducing FOMO, even if it returns completely unannounced at a later date.

Why you ask? It's because if I say "This is available only from 11th of October to 3rd of November" without adding anything, you'll fear that after the 3rd of November they will never come back, and you could panic buy it because of FOMO.

Dwightcrow is a perfect example for this. People were induced in FOMO and stormed the Fog Whisperers streams to get a code before the deadline. The fact that they then later released a code valid for everyone changed nothing for what had happened 2 months prior.

The key difference between Dwightcrow and an in game skin? The charm was free to get, the skin you need to pay for it. And paying for something that you believe is time-limited and exclusive, only for that item being released permanently without noone knowing beforehand is a lot worse than finding out you wasted a bit of time watching a stream.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/349940/any-response-from-bhvr-why-time-limited-skins-are-in-a-paid-game

Why are BHVR required to give a response? If you don’t like this, don’t buy the skins or just stop playing the game altogether.

Because the community is asking for a few clarifications and is not ok with these kind of tactics? They are not required to give an answer, but you know, when your clients have some doubts, the sensible thing would be to clarify those doubts, instead of caving in and ignoring them

  • BHVR is good for allowing criticism

But since most of the time they do either little to nothing about it or they go in a completely different direction it's kinda useless as well

You are basically drowning in a cup of water.

The devs haven't even given clarity to whether they mean the timeframe is going to be on rotation or not. How is it that you are telling me I am stirring the pot but you're out here claiming false claims against them for things that haven't even happened not stirring the pot? Please... Funny how you are claiming FOMO and yet you are acting as an alarmist doing the same thing.

At least complain when they ACTUALLY pull whatever you claim they are trying to do. By the way, my reason for defending them is because these devs as much as I don't agree with everything they do (see my feedback on patch 6.1.0) I understand that they are a company. I see no issue in selling exclusives when we have so many cosmetics in game ALREADY. Like I main Dwight, and if I happen to not be able to buy this outfit, trust, it is not going to kill me. I have plenty of other outfits that I can rock.

The devs haven't even given clarity to whether they mean the timeframe is going to be on rotation or not.

    That's the worst part though

They had ample time to clarify "Yes, these outfits will come back next year" but didn't yet. They didn't say a single word about it.

What's the most likely reason? They still haven't decided yet, and they're waiting to see the community's reaction before saying "Yes, we'll bring them back" or "No, they'll be gone forever"

Maybe, MAYBE we even have a chance of making them change their mind and throw out this anti-consumer tactic, but only if we are cohesive enough in saying "No. We don't want this crap in DbD."

  • Worst part, it worked like a charm before

    1) True, but the Rift is still a decent grind if you do not play the game regularly. It's been improved for the most part though (ironically the earlier Rifts were the ones I found harder to complete while you found them easier regardless). My critique of the Rift is more of battle passes in general. I think this game has a not too grindy battle pass compared to other games like COD or now Overwatch 2. I so so wish old battle passes could be revisited though and progressed at any point.

    2) True, to a point. The Rift tiers can be bought with Cells, which defeats the whole point of showing off Rift rewards to show your dedication to the game. I have seen people with Tier 70 tier rewards within the first few days of a Rift dropping because they were able to buy out the whole Rift with Cells. It also reinforces my point of FOMO, BHVR knows some players will buy out the Rift with a ridiculous amount of Cells if they feel they cannot complete the Rift in time because of the fact that none of the cosmetics are guaranteed to come back, if ever.

    3) True. This has been the main reason for buying Rifts that typically don't interest me. I know I'm going to complete the Rift anyway so I have nothing to lose.

    4) Again, true, but these 'rewards' are usually lackluster at best and are very tame compared to the paid track rewards. In fact I remember on some Rifts that the free track would reward you part of an outfit, say the head, while the torso and legs were locked behind the paid track. So the free rewards were in some cases being used to incentivise you to buy the paid track so that you could complete an outfit. Which rubs me wrong, to be honest.

They are largely different, but the concept is still the same. The Rift is all about limited-time cosmetics and FOMO. But because it mixes in gameplay and isn't so hard to complete while refunding your spent Cells, the community has accepted it as part of the game. Now BHVR are trying to see if they can push the boat out further. Hopefully they fail, because the announced cosmetics leave a very bitter taste in my mouth.

1- No, no, don't get me wrong, earlier Rifts were harder to complete compared to the new ones, but still they were doable if you had kind of a limited time. I dislike battle passes as well (with a few exceptions, like Sea of Thieves and Marvel Avengers, the first one because it massively benefit free players, the second one because it's not time limited) but I find them "tolerable" as a market tactic

2- Yeah, those kind of people exists, personally I'll never understand why they buy tiers on day 1 since you could wait up until the very last day of the Rift to do so (and therefore spend less), but oh well

3- Exactly, if you can complete it every time, it's 1000 times more a better deal than any other skin, I have been buying all the past Rifts with an initial investment of only 10€, which is a great amount of content for that amount

4- I agree, earlier Rifts were way better on this than newer ones, and at least they are trying to sweeten the pills by adding bloodpoints to it, but it's still not enough IMO

Yeah, I very much hope they fail on this initiative, and I don't understand the people who defend this choice.

We have nothing to gain as a community from this limited-time crap

  • @LittleBigSunset said:

We've already had 'time-limited' cosmetics in the form of Rift cosmetics and the playerbase have been fine with them since the Rift got added (even though it is hard to grind if you don't play the game much and/or have a busy schedule). BHVR are just casting the net wider to see what else they can get away with - Rifts got accepted without community backlash because battle passes in games have become 'the norm'. Now they're trying to integrate even more limited time cosmetics into events in the hopes that the community accept it as the new 'norm'.

I hate this rubbish in games. It's exploitative through FOMO, is generally greedy, screws over new players who miss out on the content, and is literally impossible to argue that it is player-friendly or benefits the game in ANY way. The only benefit this practice has is bringing in BHVR more money, which considering how monetised the game is already (for a game that is not FTP as well) is ridiculous, outfits are overpriced etc.

There's a couple of key differences between the Rift and time-limited skins like they were announced:

1- The Rift is available for way longer than the time-limited skins that they announced, so it's easier to complete it even if you can't play for a certain period (seriously, I managed to complete the second Rift in a month when I had to move)

2- Completing the Rift comes with a sense of achievement, since you need to "work" for it, whereas the time-limited skins are just..throw money at something and gg

3- Completing the Rift refunds you all the Cells you used for it, and even if you don't complete it, you get some of them back at least

4- If you're a "free player" you still have something to gain from the Rift, since it has a free track

Time-limited skins like they were announced are just..bad for the community, potentially dangerous for the game and just a negative thing altogether

  • @Leachy_Jr said:

Technically aren't the prime skins also time limited? I want my artist outfits but idk if they're ever gonna come to the store :(

Well, not the last two prime rewards for sure, apparently the new stance of BHVR on time-limited skins is: "We don't support time-limited exclusive skins to avoid excluding parts of the community, but if you pay us we're totally cool with that" 🤷🏻‍♂️

That is letting panic take over- we don't know until we know. @LichQueen also just made a really good point supporting my comment that the skins are most likely limited to the Halloween season, not a one-shot and gone forever. It makes sense given bhvr has said time and time again that they do not want exclusives (after legacy skins).

Ultimately, it's just cosmetics. The point isn't to 'collect em' all'.

I may be a minority but I have always enjoyed how bhvr runs their shop. If I want something I can just buy it. No loot boxes, no rng. Sometimes those cosmetics are 'free' with shards, and that is a nice bonus.

    No, that's following sales logic.

If you release something, and it makes you money, you double down on that to make even more money.

We have two scenarios: either this thing fails hard with the community giving them #########, or this is successful and they double down on it.

And even if they say they won't double down, why take the risk, as a community? What do we have to gain from limited time cosmetics?

  • @Laluzi said:

I am happy to support DBD by purchasing paid content and cosmetics. I am not happy to support DBD when they attempt to manipulate me into spending money constantly by imposing FOMO, which is well-documented and rampant as a scummy business practice in online gaming. I am particularly unhappy when this goes against several statements they've made in the past about exclusivity (and was the given reason we couldn't get anything half-decent as a prestige reward, while we're at it) and goes against overwhelming community feedback, which makes the fact that they kept asking us if we wanted it all the more ironic. And I'm also unhappy when they passed this off as a big favor they were doing the playerbase by making the shop more accessible, and then proceeded to make the shop even less accessible and much more aggressively capitalistic than it was before.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3220150#Comment_3220150

As someone who enjoys owning exclusive content and was far more amenable to exclusives in the past? That philosophy is gonna bite you in the ass whenever you start playing a new game with exclusives, and every time you take a break from DBD or the month's paycheck is looking kinda tight.

It's not worth it. If I had to weigh the pros of having something cool I can show off to other players so they acknowledge how cool I am (definitely) (probably) (maybe) (probably not), and the cons of finding something I sincerely want and have no way to ever obtain, I'll take no exclusives. Exclusives are better in a game with an economy where you can grind your tail off to purchase the retired item from someone else, but here, if your dream outfit turns out to be a Valentines Day 2023 exclusive and you joined in 2024, you're SOL. And if you join in 2028 and a solid quarter of the outfits the game's ever released are gone forever... gg no re, I guess. I cannot respect the reason they're implementing this, nor does it help anyone except people who want to have the opportunity to flex on others (to which I say P100 and event cosmetics already amply offer that opportunity - bringing that philosophy to the shop is nothing more than a predatory cash grab.)

Seriously, bringing up entitlement from your position is a little hypocritical when the entire thing you're invoking is not wanting other players to be able to access future content so you can be the only person in the room to have it.

I usually find myself disagreeing with a lot of your opinions

But this comment is very much ######### perfect and hits a lot of nails straight on the head

    @FancyMrB said:

Some skins being limited time only is not the end of the world. If they did this for everything, yes it would be an issue and big turn off, but for now that doesn't seem like the case. Plus for all we know the Halloween skins are limited for Halloween season. They could be back next year, and at a discounted price to make way for newer cosmetics.

If we allow BHVR in doing this for event skins, they will not stop there, I guarantee you.

Next thing you know any interesting skin is a time-limited exclusive, and they'll never be back after that timeframe. No. We need to push back hard on this.

Same reason why shard discounts aren't a thing or happened only once.

With Serum you can buy the pieces you like and never buy the rest with Aurics you either buy the outfit or buy at a loss, a single piece

You're only able to buy with Serum once a year though, and never every outfit that come out.

Like, for the first even you could buy 6 pieces max with Serum, but there were 4 full outfits available, so if you wanted all of them you needed to buy with Auric at some point

Plus, who spends 1080 Aurics instead of 400 in they only like one piece of a non-linked outfit?

Capitalism is the only way the world works. Contrary to what some believe, the overwhelming majority of people are not altruistic and are only motivated by self interest. Capitalism is why all these revolutionary disease treatments and cures get made. The world runs on self interest. If you want something you should have to give something of value for it. Sorry if you haven't learned that yet, but you will in time when/if you have to actually earn a living.

So it's totally justified and not at all predatory to inject an arbitrary element (time-limiting an item that has no real reason to be time-limited) into a system to drive sales or prices up, without adding actual value to the thing you're selling? Or would it be better to do the same thing organically by improving the quality of what you're offering?

Translated: upping the price of Legendary skins is fair, because you are offering something more than a simple skin like different animations and/or sound effects (or at least, you should), while trying to sell more or upping the price of a skin just because you decide to sell it for a short period of time is not, because you're not really influencing what the actual product is. It's still a normal skin, you just slapped a fake expiry date on it.

Leveraging on FOMO is a scummy tactic, and you can't say otherwise (this applies to every other business, not only BHVR, people are very much right in criticizing these tactics)

Meh. It's just cosmetics. It's not like the game suddenly became pay to win or that you MUST purchase them, lest you would be at a significant disadvantage.

Sure, I can understand that some people who really like cosmetics aren't pleased, but I would not go as far as calling this predatory tactic, since they aren't depredating those who can't afford it or won't.

I actually largely prefer games who choose to monetize further (and yes, I know this isn't a free game) via cosmetics, rather than gameplay advantages, because then I can just ignore it and play.

Nevertheless, hopefully the persons behind this decisions will recapacitate and find a middle ground so that everyone can keep enjoying what they currently do from DBD.

"Cosmetics" are just the first instance of this happening.

It could be a test to see how well it goes. if it goes particularly well, who's to say they won't repeat the same tactic with other things? Next thing you know any interesting skin is time-limited and available only with Auric Cells. Who's to say they won't go forward and make time-limited Chapters?

We must let BHVR know that time-limited items, WHATEVER the item is, and especially if it's Auric Cells only, are a VERY BIG nono for the community.

  • The best solution for everyone IMO is:

Event outfits are Cells only and available all year-round, but during the relative Event you can earn those cosmetics through in-game challenges/rifts

Exactly like they did for the first and second blighted halloween events: you could earn Serum either by harvesting flowers or from the Rift, and you could use that Serum to buy pieces of halloween outfits.

I will never understand why they changed that.

Only a matter of time before the rift price goes up 😳 Gone will be the days i can recycle my auric cells for an entire rift

That's the day I stop playing the rift and buying the premium track, I don't care how good the rewards are.

  • 🫰~🤡~💸

  • BHVR's greediness reached a new level

Don't buy any more auric cells skins from them until they hit the brakes hard on this thing.

  • @Nihlus said:

Yup. Don't support a product you can get literally thousands of hours of content out of for $20, or less if bought on sale. This is really simple. Do you like the game? Then support it if you can. Don't act like they're here putting a gun in your face demanding your money. You don't have to buy anything after the initial game purchase, and hell you often can play without even paying that.

And please, support a product that disrespects their clients by implementing scummy tactics that take advantage of people's insecurities, support a company that lies to save their asses and to put themselves in a better light with its community.

Well if it's eventually, then it isn't currently. Also the fact these outfits are specifically halloween themed.

I'm not defending it or anything, just saying. They might be back next Halloween or something. Or I'm looking too much on the bright side and they won't be available again, which is what bhvr has said wouldn't happen, but idk.

Like we all thought the first Blighted skins to be released would have been available to gain during the future halloween events and then they weren't and were simply treated as regular Auric Cells only skins?

Assume the worst, ask the best.

Assume that BHVR will never bring back that skin again, ask that BHVR does NOT releases time-limited cosmetics. Even if it's an event themed one.

Someone please tell me what FOMO is.

    Fear Of Missing Out

Basically people going, "Oh #########, if I don't buy this right now I'll never be able to have this certain thing in the future, and what if I realize later that I needed it or that it was the best thing ever?"

BHVR said multiple times they wouldn't do exclusive, that every rift outfits would come to the store eventually to reduce FOMO, and then they do this #########

  • So ######### glad I never spent a cent and will never do on one of their skins

Anti-consumerism at its finest, greedy little hellspawns

  • BHVR and their anti-consumer habits at it again, nothing strange here 😉

The intention was to catch the players who'd levelled to 50 right up to the Prestige level, there's no further catch-up planned for those who levelled up to 40 I'm afraid.

So you felt the need to "reward" the players who'd levelled to 50 right up to the Prestige level and then explicitly chose not to prestige.

    Did I get that right?

you wont consistently stay at red rank 1 consistently pipping and double pipping as legion. mmr exists

Step 1: Reach rank 1 while playing a killer with low MMR

Step 2: Play another low MMR killer to gain easy double pips against low MMR survivors

Your rank is shared among killers, your MMR isn't, and once you're at rank 1 you will stay there until the next rank reset since you can't derank anymore.

Plus, consider this: it takes around 1 million bloodpoints to prestige someone once. Your proposal would mean that you could get the equivalent of 1 million bloodpoints from one match in which you do well, and easily multiple times per day.

Compare it to the reward for reaching rank 1: 2 million bloodpoints, and you can get that reward only once a month.

  • All the perks you mentioned need at least some input from the killer

Before being reworked ruin needed 0 input from the killer

Like, they could be literally afk and ruin would still do its job

Dead Man Switch DOES NOT need to activate if the gen blows back because of a bo0sted KiLLaH perk.

Things that are out of a players control, but still greatly and negatively impacts them should be removed.

This I agree with, DMS doesn't need to activate when the killer is using SH:PR
