I reply only the first sentence because i do not want to get involved again in a discussion that has no reason to continue further
"Exactly, to CUSTOMISE the experience! There is nothing custom about being REQUIRED to do something! Are you seriously thick in the head???"
YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED
- You can play the boring part. Like a killer that hates flashlights but still take the risk, maybe facing the wall.
- You can find a way to avoid it. Like a killer player that only plays doctor and shock before picking up to not get flashed. Or a killer that focus on slug. Or play pig or onryo or pyramid to be able to not pick up survs.
- You can equip a perk or an object or whatever to skip it. Like a killer that equips franklyn or lightborne.
Or sure you can come here and say: i do not like this, it is "boring", "frustrating", "unfair", whatever, please remove it because i do not want to learn how to play around it neither i want to equip one perk even thou making the way i propose will force all the players to equip 2-3 slowdown perks.
This is the situation. You not like it? Well this is till the situation. Dot.
Well I AM required to install a perk if i want less generator time because of this stupid god damned update! That should NOT be the case!
And you have not in any way shape or form acknowledged the fact that even when the killer loses, he is DOING something!? Generators involve sitting in the same place doing NOTHING!? That is the DEFINITION of boring!
Other changes should be made that do not require increasing the tedious aspects of the game! And I have every god damned right to complain about it. I loved this game and spent money on it now it is ruined. If you don't like me complaining then don't read or don't respond to what I write, but I'm not going to shut up about this because it is downright disgusting!!!

"You shouldn't need to rely on perks in order to make the base game exciting and fun to play."
This is PRECISELY the reason perks exist. So a player can use them to customize the experience.
You should not just in case all the players use the same perks.
Like DS, BT, DH and Ruin/Pop/BBQ. But if you are pissed of flashlights this is the reason lightborne exist.
Or do you think that a killer can come here and ask the removal of flashlight because he is frustrated and he do not want to equip lightborn nor learn how to play around them?
Exactly, to CUSTOMISE the experience! There is nothing custom about being REQUIRED to do something! Are you seriously thick in the head???
Perk slots don't exist so that you can insert the obligatory perk in there that means you can have a slightly less unenjoyable game (Prove Thyself, as per your suggestion). Perk slots exist so that you can mix and match your play style, not so that you have to use one specific perk.
When flashlight blinding lasts for 90 seconds instead of just 1 second, then you can come back here and make that argument. Otherwise what you are saying is so utterly facile and ridiculous it's making me think you are just a sore loser as killer who can't cope so badly that you want to bring down the entire game and force people to do boring tasks.
And for the love of god stop mixing up 'frustration' with 'boredom'. It is frustrating to get blinded by a flashlight. It is BORING to do generators. LEARN THE DIFFERENCE?!?!

Man, if you not believe then you would have not believed tham even with the statistics telling they made the numbers up.
Instead of ask the game being reverted back use prove thyself.
That is wat killers did for 6 years, bring always 2-3 perks to make gen longer.
Now you can easily bring one if you are pissed off.
"Man, if you not believe then you would have not believed tham even with the statistics telling they made the numbers up." Sorry but this is incoherent and I really don't understand what you mean here.
You shouldn't need to rely on perks in order to make the base game exciting and fun to play. How many hours does it take to prestige a Dwight? Your solution is to ask new players to play the game something like 10 hours before they can even have a chance at a mildly interesting game? Give me a break.
Nothing justifies adding 10 seconds to an already GRUELLING long progression bar and I can't for the life of me understand what is going on in your head to think this is normal
-
Not many people will disagree with you because everyone is caught up in the 'get good or go home' mentality instead of looking at this game for its faults and acknowledging what can be improved.
You can blame individual behaviour as much as you want for the increase in DCs, but it's just too much of a coincidence that this comes at the exact same time that an update nerfs survivors to the ground and makes generators longer and more tedious.
If your only solution is to make the game more inaccessible, I don't think you really want to solve the problem or have the capacity to.
(Also, I'm assuming your talking about survivors DC'ing since it is way more annoying when survivors DC than when Killers do, and because there has been a noted increase in survivor DCs)

Man there must be some kind of misunderstanding and language barrier.
Maybe it is better if i repeat myself.
I said:
- 1) BHVR said that their number were proving killers weren't killing enough
- 2) 10 seconds more on a gen it is not trivial, it is a good enhancement
- 3) A game can still end in 4 minutes if the team is well cohordinated even 90 seconds gen
- 4) Making the gens last longer is the simplest and more direct solution
- 5) There is no doubt that, making the gens last longer make the game last longer.
- 6) Before 6.1.0 the games were too quick
These are the things i said.
You say that doing gens is boring. Well, ok, still we need to make the game longer than before the 6.1.0 and i doubt there is a simpler, more direct solution than making the gens 90 seconds.
BUT if you have a solution you can share it.
You cannot ask to remove it only because you are "bored" without giving an alternative. Guess what. Killers are bored to see the exit opened after 4 minutes.
I hope now i was able to explain myself.
No, it is not reasonable to expect that extending game time is a good thing when this demands the majority of players do an increased duration of tedious tasks. I really don't see how you can expect that is a good argument.
You also seem to be confusing 'frustrating' with 'boring'. Sure, a killer might be frustrated from losing a match. Fair enough. This isn't the same as making them bored through needing to accomplish tedious tasks. I would not wish that on a killer even if it meant I won more games as a survivor, and if you were reasonable you should not wish the reverse, either.
Yes, BHVR said that, but instead of doing the reasonable thing and just showing the statistics, they withhold them and let the community bicker amongst themselves. The only reason I can see for withholding that information is that there is a financial incentive behind doing so.
And yes, I am perfectly entitled to ask to remove the extra ten seconds of gen speed if it means I am bored. This is a game. Games are meant to be fun.

Ok. Give me better data that the game now is more unbalanced. Give me better numbers than the ones provided by devs. More relaiable informations....
"My argument acknowledges that we don't know anything about balance but asks that we don't intentionally extend the most tedious part of the game. Make other changes instead."
Noone is arguing doing gens may be boring, but as i said, the "other changes are more dangerous for the balance of the game.
"It is objectively true that repairing generators is the most tedious part of the game, and I seriously challenge you to give me another more tedious example."
Making the unhook time longer. Do you know what is more boring than doing gens? Being hooked.
With unhook time longer unhooking while camped will be impossible and therefore every killer is going to camp.
Then you must endure on the hook to give time to your mates.
This is more boring than doing gens.
Sorry to cross post and add another comment, but I also have to respond: You ask me to show data to support my argument. If you would read what I wrote, I already said that I don't rely on that data to make my argument. My argument rests on the fact that doing generators is not fun, and is in fact tedious.
Arguing for the sake of 'balance' just seems to be a red herring to me. No one can support that argument either way, and the only thing we can do is demand the devs release that information. The only reason they would have to withhold that information would have to do with financial incentive.

You don't seem to grasp the fact that this update was a massive change. Generators have never taken this long to complete. The burden of proof is on you to explain why this is a good idea, not on me.

No. The game from the survivor perspective is:
Do 5 gens, open the gates, escape.
Simple as that, between a surv and the victory there are 5 gens and the gates, these are the mandatory tasks.
Not booning, not cleansing, not opening chests, not healing, not saving from hooks, these things may help but it depends.
Then, are the surv too quick?
SCENARIO 1
Ok, then you can make gen longer and / or the exit gate longer.
Simple and direct, make the game ALWAYS last longer.
SCENARIO 2
Alternatives are make healing longer and/or more difficult or unhooking longer or more difficult. More or less in the current game balance heal and unhook is something you always do. If a killer cannot wound and down and hook once he is still going to lose.
But this may be frustrating, may enhance the number of selfish players, if unhooking takes 20 seconds who is going to do that? You are going to finish the gen and every killer will become lethal as bubba while camping.
If healing requires 2 minutes noone is gonna heal ever, everyone is going to play the perks that allow to play wounded.
This is hard to balance and it is going to change the equilibrium of the game a lot.
SCENARIO 3
Add another task to the ones required in order to complete the game, like when you have the reverse bear trap on the head and you must remove them before escaping.
For example before repairing a gen you first must find the new parts in the chests and take them to the gen you want to repair to make the reparation possible.
THIS IS A HUGE CHANGE and completely changes the game structure and it is almost impossible to balance!
One other thing, yes it is obviously true that doing generators is the main objective, not booning, cleansing, opening chests etc. But can't you see that obviously, doing all of those things are more fun than sitting and watching a progression bar for a minute and a half?
You need to go and find totems and chest like a little hunt. Healing has a sense of interaction and you can enjoy having helped another survivor. Healing yourself isn't fun, but at least it keeps you in the game and prevents the unfun act of being hooked.
Can you seriously not acknowledge the problem in emphasising the importance of doing generators when they are obviously the least fun thing to do in the game? And your answer to everything is to make this least fun part even longer??
WHY GOD WHY just please tell me I don't understand

This is false.
The current playerbase is lower than june but higher than may.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3120083#Comment_3120083
Because it is not that easy.
In order to give survivor something to do you must completely change the game structure.
Because if you give them something to do with the current game rules they simply can ignore it.
Like totems and boons. Survs can simply ignore them and rush gens. That is exactly what happens and has happened before.
I don't understand what you're saying because the entire game structure already was changed in a way that made generators longer. And it bears repeating: this extends and amplifies the most tedious part of the entire game.

@Adjatha said:
Point 6: Skill checks were SUPPOSED to have a failure chance, which would organically increase the time it takes to do generators, effectively making them take longer than the 80 seconds they used to be. However, skill checks are a joke if you've played for any length of time, so gens fly and survivors have no challenge on their entire non-killer half of the game.
Point 7: Survivors had wildly over-ranked their MMR due to the State of the Game, and any time there is anything that makes the other side better, even by a little bit, they suddenly encounter a larger-than-normal number of losses, which makes them believe that there is some terrible game failure, not just that they're playing out of their league and need to down-rank to get balanced games again.
What you're saying is there's an arms race between survivor skill and killer skill. Fair enough, but you haven't given an explanation for why that should result in the most tedious part of the game being extended? Why not make other changes that don't induce game boredom??

5 gens in less than 4 minutes at high MMR while immediately chased by a oni with lethal.
Making the gen shorter again will result in even less time to chase and again in builds with total slowdown.
But now pop is garbage and ruin is meh.
"(To the best of my knowledge) there is no publicly available data which can confirm or deny the fact that the game was ever survivor-sided to begin with. Survivors are now required to do extra time of the most boring part of the game for a reason that has never been publicly displayed through survivor vs. killer statistics."
BHVR said that killers weren't killing enought and they expect an average of 2 kills per match
"A ten second increase with the latest update is not a trivial difference. Most perks have effects that last for just a few seconds and make a drastic difference to the game."
It is a very major difference instead. On 5 gens it is 50 seconds more, like a no way out.
50 seconds you cannot hide and you have to work, differently from NWO.
10 seconds more per gen means you can manage to stop many gen before completed unless there is Prove thyself.
I don't think you're hearing me. Even if a killer misses out, they have still done stuff. They have chased, looked around. If a survivor is on a generator, they do nothing but tedious skill checks. This does not a fun game make.
If you want balance, why can't you change other things that don't involve survivors doing tedious work? Why are you so intent on making people suffer watching a progression bar crawl upward for a minute and a half?

Exactly. The reasons are just saying gens are boring, in essence. Even if you breakdown why detail by detail, they're still just saying gens are boring.
Would I like to see the data? Sure. Are we entitled to the data? No. Are they under any obligation to show it to use before making these decisions? No.
They don't owe us anything.
Right, and "in essence" if my grandmother had wheels she would have been a bike.
Ok, but don't act as if "finally the game is balanced" when you have no way of proving me that it was ever unbalanced before or that it is more balanced now. The burden of proof is on you.
And if people really actually want one side or the other to "stop whining" about changes being made, the fastest way to do that is to demand the data be released. It would be a bit hard for people to be "whining" if they could see objectively that yes, the game is actually more fair now.
I'm saying outright that I simply don't believe it that the game was a) ever survivor-sided, b) is more balanced now. The people in this forum could very easily be a vocal minority. You could argue that if this is what the vocal people want, then sure, make the game that way, since it will increase net happiness, but then you have absolutely no right to claim it on the grounds of statistics.

Which still gives no reason to DC survivors know repairing gens is the main part of the game for them if they don't then this isn't the game for them and one could say playing trapper is just as bad always having to pick up traps to use them trust me that gets old very quick but they don't let him start with them all you have to travel the map to get them.
Really? You think setting traps is comparable? No. At least those trap people. Gens do nothing.
And yes, I would argue it obviously does give them a reason to DC. If a game has become not fun enough for survivors, there is obviously a higher risk they will DC. Either you can work to make the game more fun (again, this doesn't necesarilly mean them winning a game) or you can just blame the symptom rather than the cause of the problem

Survivors DC just because the game got a bit harder is no excuse to DC, do you remember the breakdown bug that happened did you see killers DC like you did after the last major update, not only did survivors abuse the bug but killers kept playing even though it was a game breaking bug they didn't just DC like survivors.
So explain that why 1 side was able to keep playing even though there was a game breaking bug but the other side DC cause the game got a bit harder.
It obviously is an excuse for survivors to DC, because they are doing it and saying that this is the reason they are doing it. Either you can figure out how to solve those issues or just blame the survivors. I don't see how you will fix the issues by blaming the survivors.
I don't know anything about this breakdown bug, so can't respond

One survivor DC. David AFK.meg downed.
After a while only last meg and you know what? It t bagged me in the tiny building with vault and a breakable door.
Use lithe but didnt last that much and got down.
The only player that was playing fine was swearing everywhere.
So why DC? Becuz u didnt like it? As killers we dont dc if you break our totems or repair 3 fens in one chase.
I don't know if your directing your question at me, but I don't DC, which you would know if you read what I wrote.

Can you honestly tell me there is a task as mundane as repairing generators that the killers do? There simply isn't. Obviously not as much as when a survivor DC's. And if there was a sudden influx of killers DC'ing coincidentally at the same time as a major update dropped which made the update unfair for killers, then sure I would still blame the game

Because that person made the choice to DC if they know that there is problems with the game not making it fun to play or major bugs then they shouldn't play the game till those problems are fixed, soon as they hit the ready button they know all the problems the game might have, not being fun and maybe getting a killer they don't like and they are accepting all of that by hitting ready. If they don't like that stuff don't hit that button then DC because a killer downed you first and you wanted to cry and DC, would say the same thing if a killer DC because the first 2 gens pop to fast that its ok and its a problem with the game?
Again, you are not understanding me. I agree that all that stuff is bad. I just think its downright stupid to look at the increase of DC'ing that's happening and blame the people doing it rather than the game itself for having made dumb changes, like increase generator times.
And again, it's not all about winning and losing. It's about having fun or not having fun. It is not fun to stare at a progression bar of a generator, and there was absolutely no reason to increase the amount of time you need to do it. If people aren't having fun, of course there are going to be more DC's

Have you ever thought about the fun playing killer? Juggling attention between the status and hook states of 4 survivor, keep their 16 perks in mind on the correct character, 5 totems (boons or hexes), the progress on 7 gens and the 30-50 pallets on each map.
Killer has and always will be more stressful than survivor. Couple that with a game where survivor that don't do any mistakes and dance in circles around you and fun is the last thing you are going to have.
Killer finally became a little less hard and stressful and survivor in correlation became a harder and more demanding and some people just cant change the way they play after getting used to it for years.
What are you even on about? I don't care about any of that. I care that the game has been made more boring by increasing gen times. At least all of that killer stuff sounds fun. It's not staring at a progression bar for one minute and 30 seconds straight. Jesus, it's all just about winning and losing to you people. I'm talking about what makes a game fun!
It does not make a game fun to stare at a progression bar for a minute and a half! What don't you people understand about that!? You're all just obsessed with wins and losses

OK. You talk about enjoyment. There are plenty of people who enjoy the game who's experiences are being ruined because of people dc'ing. What about them?
If you are so annoyed with the game that you can't finish a match then don't play.
What is happening now is basically like children throwing a temper tantrum in the middle of a store because their parents won't buy them candy. Meanwhile their siblings are embarrassed as hell.
The selfishness of the people who DC is not understandable. Their opinions are but not the actions.
I hate New Freddy but I don't DC against him, nor do I start a match with him and then DC because he isn't the Freddy I like.
Play or don't play. Don't ruin everything for everyone because you don't like something. Grow up. This is an adult game.
You're not understanding me. Obviously it sucks when it suddenly becomes a 3 v 1, but how on earth can you blame the DC'er when so many changes have been made to the game which make it intolerable?
You can only blame the individuals doing it so much before it clearly becomes a problem with the game itself. That's just logic

Then go do chases and unhook people or literally anything else except doing gens if you hate them so much. If you can't do the literal main objective of the game then maybe you shouldn't play it or play with bond, prove thyself and resilience. That's 24% less gen repair time even with 1 other person on a gen. After all you despise gens so much.
This game isn't chasing simulator 2022 or unhooking and healing people simulator 2022.
You can't just suggest adding perks to counter a flaw to the base game. That is called a game design issue.

Like I'm not asking anyone who doesn't like it to play but if you hate it that much please just uninstall it'll make the game better if the only people playing it are people that actually want to. And if you start up the game for the first time since the update just finish the game then uninstall if you can't wait 10 minutes to do that you're just a child.
Edit: Retyping this because I mistook the response to be something else

I mean you are right, but there were lnumberous threads about gens being boring way before the update. So yes, if they are boring now, they were boring before, and people complained about it long enough. What is your point here? The game got more boring on that part.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3118276#Comment_3118276
You are absolute right.
I am a solo survivor main, and i have reduced my dbd playtime by about 80%. In the last 20% i mostly play killer (just did all but one adept achivement on killers i have, bringing my achivement count to 90%).
I couldnt find decent solo matches anymore, partly because camping and tunneling went up in my region and mmr bracket, partly because dcs and suicides (or other behaviour that basicly throws the match away), so i stopped. And every solo survivor that doesnt enjoy the role anymore should do the same.
DC´s are not only bad for the other players, its bad for the game overall. Because players do it if a game goes wrong for them. However, as far as i know, games including dc´s are not part of the kill/escape statistics the devs look at, meaning a lot of games where killers are winning are actually ignored in those statistics, while the ones where survivors are winning are kept, and thats screwing over the kill stats big time.
(thats why i dont understand this conspirity-talk about tampering kill numbers by dcíng, because it actually has the opposite effect.)
If people complained about generators before then why make it LONGER and even WORSE!?!?!? Like where is the logic!?!? Am I living in upside down land!?

It took the core part of the game and amplified it. The Actual OBJECTIVE of the Survivor gameplay.
This thread is the definition of entitlement. Not only are you entitled whining you have the right to screw over your team mates and the killer with Rage Quitting. You are also entitled whining you actually have to do the games objective to win, instead of whatever the hell you feel like and still win.
This is why even as a Survivor Main, I have very little respect for Survivors these days.
Exactly! It's the objective of the game why is it so boring! You can have an objective in a game without it being BORING!?!?!?! Like, have a task to do like you would have in Among Us?! Those tasks aren't boring! I would never hear people complaining about that.
How the hell is it entitled to ask for a game which you PAID for to not increase its tedium!? Like jesus christ get over yourself thinking your this hot survivor

It does make sense to blame people when not doing gens, because they are longer. They need now more attention than ever. If you find it boring, don't play survivor as it's part of their gameplay.
What do perks being less strong need blaming for? If people make bad plays they make badplays, but rather have them try and fail than DC. I bet I am a solo that causes people sometimes to slam their face, we ain't perfect. No need to blame people for trying, losing is ok.
I blame people for rage quiting, because it ruins the game. If you don't find it fun, unplayable... Then don't join a match. I won't blame them for not playing.
People making excuses why it is ok to DC don't get it at all. Those people are purely entitled cry babies, that don't like that the game got more difficult for them and think it justifies them for ruining the game for others. Does solo queue need a buff, most definitely. Yet if you boot up the game, pick your role and queued up than you signed up to play the game as it currently is, so play it out. We are all in the same boat... Nothing makes you special.
Sure, but are you going to blame everyone ever who DC's, especially when it's apparently on the rise and this is connected to the update? I'm pretty sure it's also the updates fault

Because finding, chasing, downing, and hooking the first survivor, just to have 3 gens pop isn't enjoyable for killers.
I don't think BHVR understand that gen times aren't the problem. It's survivors lacking a objective prior to gens.
Then change something else! Make killers faster or something? Don't make the worst part of the game even worse!

SO because you can't get a refund, you've decided you want to justify d/cing.
You paid for a game, you played it, and now you aren't feeling the game anymore. That happens. There's plently of games I've brought that I just stopped playing and I never once thought I deserved a refund because I decided I was done playing a game I had purchased.
No what I want is for generator times to go back to normal, because who on earth wants to sit and watch a progress bar creep up for a minute and a half?? But since I can't get that and the game has changed, I want my money back. I think this is utterly ridiculous and for the life of me I can't understand how on the one hand people can think increased generator time is not big deal and on the other hand blame people for being fed up with the game, like myself.
I can't understand the ATTITUDE of people thinking its all about winning and losing when its about making a game that's supposed to be enjoyable for people! it's not enjoyable for people to lose, but it's a downright kick in the face and being spat on to be told you have to do even more of the most boring, tedious and gruelling part of this game (generator repair).

Just because the difficulty got cranked up, doesn't justify DC'ing. We call that 'skill issue' or 'failure to adapt'.
Ultimately the player is at fault, but you can't even pin 30% of the blame on BHVR for making the game difficult when 'we' the players made them make this decision, because killers were underperforming, and both sides metas were either stale or too powerful for a 4v1 game
There' not just difficulty, winning and losing though. There's also enjoyment! Generators are clearly the least enjoyable, most tedious part of the game. Bhvr decided to extend that! WHY!?!?
If people quit, maybe its just because the developers decided to make the game less fun. It's not all about egos being hurt and losses, although that clearly factors into it, but it's also about making a nice experience for gamers. By increasing the generator time the only conclusion i can come to is that BHVR doesn't care about survivors

At the end of the day anyone can dc if they want to and if they want to suffer the consequences (i.e. timer penalty)
Do they need to give anyone an explanation or an apology? No.
In the broader scheme of things though, it is very apparent that the patch brought the worst out of both sides. Those that now that BHVr is holding their hand will still play in their old ways and those that refuse to play the game out because of how some of these effects have trickled down.
I really really can't understand everyone's attitude thinking that this is all about winning or losing. It's also about enjoyment. It's simply not enjoyable to sit in front of a generator and watch a progression bar creep up for an entire minute and a half. Why in gods name would the developers have wanted to make that even worse for survivors?

Take a break then. If you are having that hard time having fun in this game find something else to play. I'm still having fun as a survivor and im having fun learning new perks and not relying on E and endgame DS escapes. I even play perkless sometimes and shocking i have escaped :D
No I want a god damned refund but I was told I'm not allowed one

10 seconds ...its whooping 10 seconds... get yourself a deja vu or something to speed up the gens and stop making excuses.
If you are that unhappy about 10 seconds play something else or try playing killer for few months..you'll notice that 10 seconds doesnt really do much with survivors that actually know how to play this game.
Then why don't you give up every single perk that has an effect that lasts less than 10 seconds, seemings as its so useless. Oh wait, most perks have effects which last for 2–4 seconds. 10 seconds is obviously not a trivial amount of time in this game, and you're blind if you think that it is. Especially multiplied by 5 and then add some for regression and for the superfluos generators on the map.
Not to mention generators are clearly the most boring, tedious and gruelling part of the game. If anything should have been changed it should NOT have been an increase to generator time

Of this 10 games the Jake lost, how many were lost bc someother DC'ed or gave up on the hook? Bc when Jake does that now, he's dooming the other three survivors as well! When you say it is cool for Jake to DC, you also say it is cool for the remaining ones to have a miserable game after that.
Games being harder bc killers got buffed is just one side of the equation. Esp. for solo Q, half of the games you lose you do so bc your mates DC, give up or mess up badly. That's got NOTHING to do with killer getting buffed with the patch!
And why did the people Jake were playing with give up? Can't you see the chicken or the egg situation you're in here? All roads lead back to the game being made more difficult and tedious for survivors.

@Hannacia said:
Game has finally become more balanced since survivors cannot abuse 2 perks that completely broke endgame in this game...these 2 being DS and DH...
DCING and leaving your teammates to struggle just because you arent having fun is 100% your fault, not anyone elses. Play the game to the end, give your teammates a chance of winning or at least collecting some bloodpoints and stop babyraging at the hooks when you can't win every single one of your games.
Again, I don't care about PERKS! The generator time is now too long! The most boring, gruelling and tedious part of the game has been EXTENDED!

So because you're unable to loop a killer for more than 10 seconds, or he found you with Lethal Pursuer, you think that's a valid reason to disconnect and a sign of "this game has become trash"? Blaming the latest update (which has nothing to do with instant d/c's) is nothing more than a straw man argument.
I don't DC, but friend after friend of mine in SWFs would. I used to blame them. Now I blame the game for being trash.
Stop with the attitude of thinking your better than everyone. Everyone is just a person on the other end of a game, and they leave the game for a reason

Ugh, I can't hear this anymore. Justifying DCing. Really?
I'm obviously not saying DC'ing is good. I'm saying it seems stupid to blame individual behaviour for something which seems clearly to have been caused systemically by a major game update.

Yes, your 6 friends are bad at the game. They probably got boosted to a higher MMR than they actually deserved due to overpowered Perks (probably DH, maybe DS/UB).
If you continue on blaming the game, you'll never actually get good, tho I doubt you'd get good even if you stopped complaining
You really have this 'get good or go home' attitude so bad that you can't even see what I'm saying.
And again, I don't care about perks, I care about generator times being extended. Generator times were never fun, and countless other things could have been changed to balance the game, but instead bhvr decides to take the most gruelling, boring and tedious part of the game and extend it.
No, I won't blame my friends. I won't blame people who are fed up with the game and DC

Maybe because is not TOO DIFFICULT but just harder and they don't want to try?
There are more than enough people that play survivor and don't have a problem with the last patch just by playing like before.
Everyone keeps focussing on difficulty but what about enjoyment? Is it really enjoyable to watch a progression bar creep upward for 90 seconds? What's next, 100 seconds?

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3118311#Comment_3118311
The devs are not encouraging d/cing, because you get punished for doing so.
This topic just screams entitlement. You can no longer coast by on perks that were overtuned and are now crying about how the game is too hard and that somehow justifies you being able to d/c out of games.
Who cares about perks? I care about generator time, which is clearly the most boring part of the game which has been actively extended by the developers. Why should I blame people who DC when the game has been made more boring for them AND more difficult?

You should blame them, because they're looking for reasons to DC, that aren't even correct.
Survivor is still the power-role, Survivors still have the advantage over every non-Nurse/Blight Killer. Generators are 10 seconds longer. If they're boring now, they were boring before the time increase.
Your friends are just bad and pathetic and should uninstall
Right, so 6 different people, randomly met from different lfg groups are all the problem, and suspiciously at a time when the game updated to increase generator time etc. I'm supposed to think all of these completely different, separated people are all just garbage individuals? Um, no, I think the problem is with the game

@Crowman said:

The Developers are not forcing people to d/c. People who can't handle the game and give up without even trying are d/cing.
Forcing? No? Encouraging? Yes

No.
If your friends DC whenever something doesn't go their way, they are pathetic and should uninstall the game, so they don't have to punish anyone else that plays with them
Are you even reading? People are DC'ing because the game has become too difficult for survivors, and generator length is boring now. Why should i blame them when BHVR is the clear cause of these issues?

I've been playing a lot of Solo queue as survivor before 6.1.0 and after that update. The Solo queue experience was terrible and it's even more terrible with all those instant DC or self-killing on hooks.
I agree. But to say the fault lies with the DC'ers will clearly not fix anything when the increase in DC's has come as a result of the killer sided update
-
@ByeByeQ said:
If Jake finds his way onto the ground 30 seconds into a game thanks to Bubba's chainsaw and instantly DC's, it is 100% correct to blame Jake. He didn't know any of Bubba's perks yet. He didn't know if Bubba was going to camp, tunnel or slug. He didn't give the match a chance for him to have fun and ruined it for everyone else.
If Jake has lost 10 games in a row because the update was too killer sided, then plays a game, gets downed within 30 seconds and DC's, says 'to hell with this' and DC's, then it is also the developers fault for making the game too difficult for survivors.
What is so hard to understand about that
