Yes, that ######### is here to stay and isn’t going anywhere, any time soon- unfortunately. At best, we will get “tweaks.”

That person must not play with headphones or surround sound.

I was playing with friends last night and we ran into a bunch of killers camping and proxy camping the hook. While I find it annoying I'm not really mad if the killer decides to do it. But that doesn't mean I shouldn't try and prevent it. So I took Camaraderie and it helps a lot. If ik being camped I can buy my team more time to do what they can. I think in today's climate it's underrated. Still wish it was buffed but what do you think?
100% agree. I’m trying to put together the following build for Lori, but haven’t had enough BP yet: Camaraderie, Decisive Strike, Kindred, & Breakdown.

Agreed- the Halloween tome deserves some serious credit as well for the way it handles earning cosmetics quicker with their associated character, but still possible with other characters should you not want to play the associated character for whatever reason. It's not as good as the split-role challenges, but it's another thing to mention.
And it still gives you Rift credit towards the current Tome. Bonus rift points. Kudos to the devs on this.

At that point, i would understand if every killer mains would uninstall the game, clearly.
Hmph. Their egos won’t let them…

Its just DCing with extra steps at this point.
There’s nothing you can do if someone doesn’t want to play. Actually, things are getting worse with these type of players- they throw tantrums. I once saw a player pre-dropping all of the pallets in the match because they were mad that they were pulled off hook before the second missed skill check. Today, i had two players (assuming they were friends) try to let go on hook when both me and another random each pulled them off at almost the same time. Both of those players stood still at the hook and got crows. Me and the random were doing gens so they had no reason to let go on hook. When they got downed, I’m sure they saw our aura’s on the gen. We were on RPD so me and that 4th player managed to get the 4 1/2 gens done by ourselves, before ultimately succumbing to Trapper.

The same as any nurse. Generally miserable if they are even somewhat decent at her. The few nurses i have seen use this addon so far are the extremely sweaty ones, who are already very good at nurse. I assume they are either just trying to make their games easier or are trying to relive old nurse. Either way its not particularly fun.
This. Well said. My sentiments exactly. The few times I manage to dodge the second blink just stings falling to the third. I wish some of these sweaty killers would save ######### like this for the SWF’s. It’s really unnecessary for solo que players. Complete overkill.

Series X too, and I think this is just a platform specific bug. None of my other teammates can see it (they're on xbone) and I don't get the error on my switch
Thanks, guys. @MandyTalk would you be able to inform the powers that be? This seems to be a platform specific bug- Series X/S. It’s visually displeasing.

Yeah, its been an issue since Mikaelas release, from what ive seen all characters have black lines which distort their face.
Thanks for the heads up. What platform are you on? Curious if this is just a Series issue…

I am not a good Killer player. Far from it. Slightly below average. I used to get fixated 4K's everytime when I played Killer and got really angry with myself (and the opponents) when that failed big time... Even if I got 2K I was really frustrated.
Now I've started to play every match with "baby steps"
I set a really low goal for myself at the beginning of a trial. First goal, get a survivor hooked. Then another. And so forth and see gradually how it goes. And if I see an obvious SWF team (especially when they are in a full meme outfits and flashlights etc...), I'll just dodge the lobby entirely.
No point on pulling off the few hairs that I have left on my head.
I’m in the same boat as you, @Triplehoo. I recently took it a step further and purposely play perkless, & add-on less. I set the bar REALLY low for myself. I go into every game not expecting any kills. If I happen to get one, kudos to me. I’ll definitely take it. I don’t tunnel, and I don’t camp. After I hook, I go for whoever is on gens. Eventually I’ll start putting on non-meta perks & brown add-ons bit by bit. My thought process for playing “naked” is hoping to get better at chases. The best part? If somehow I manage to get more than 1 kill, no one can be toxic and send me hate mail. No excuses!
-
Please don’t tell me you’re putting your faith in VHS to dethrone DBD, OP…
-
@Raptorrotas curious- what region/servers do you play on? Be happy you don’t get potatoe survivors to team with against competent killers. I don’t know why I don’t get players of this low caliber whenever I play killer.
-
I’m confused- are you advocating to cleanse or not? Because if you are, the better play is not to cleanse and to play the trial injured. A good plague will down you in a healthy state with her power, almost as quickly as an M1 to an injured survivor. Plus her power allows her to hit multiple targets from afar, who are within close proximity to each other.
Her cool down being longer would hurt her, by having to make frequent trips to pools to maintain her power. Killers already have enough juggling on their plate.

I’m convinced they don’t play it. Inner Strength is pretty much useless now. It should be buffed with at least 3 tokens.

I am starting to doubt that the system actually works like that. I've been dying like 15 games in a row to see if something changes -nothing-. Still the same kind of killer. I am starting to wonder if they are telling us the truth.
I'm actually starting to think that it only applies for survivors. I get killers with perks from recent characters like lethal pursuer on wraight (for example) level 3 playing pretty good and teammates with urban, spinechill + dark sense and technician or selfcare... .
Kinda unfun and unfair.
Sounds like you’re usually the strongest player and the game throws you in with three scrubs to “balance out” going against a good killer.
-
Wow- is this NFT thing really that bad? I still don’t fully understand how it works. Do we have reliable sources indicating foul play on the devs part?
Personally I’m not ok with ANY type of data mining due to its effect on climate change, but what are the other negatives?

Low MMR experience be like
This. Your fellow PC players do this to me all the time. Especially the 3 man SWF. Don’t even get me started on the sub par PC players that the MMR throws me in to carry against a decent killer for “balance.” I’m not even trying to be funny. Very serious. Some matches actually have me saying “PC master race my ass,” out loud. And then there is the cheating/hacking problem when you’re in upper mid to low high MMR.

Because solo queue has taught me the only survivor I can trust is me.
Sincerely, constantly bleeding out because nobody will take the few seconds to heal me, even vs Oni.
I see this a lot on here, but all the games I play in everyone is OVERLY altruistic and want to heal me even when it’s not safe to do so. If my survivor came equipped with a bat, I would use it to on them during those times. If someone doesn’t heal you, most likely it’s because it’s not safe or there is something with higher priority that needs attention (discovered hex totem location or gen is almost done). If you go to a person on a gen that’s sounds and looks like it’s 70% done and that person ignores your heal request, get on it and finish it. They’ll heal you after. In this meta world of Pop Goes the Weasel it’s best not to lose that gen progress to it at 98%, because you just had to be healed first.
-
I’m confused- who gen taps in 2021?? I haven’t seen gen tapping since old ruin. If anything, doing that will cause you to blow up and regress gens because of that bullshit “random” skill check we get now for getting off a gen. Are you using Overcharge? Because not even gen tapping can prevent that. You have to complete the skill check even if your off the gen. Besides, if teams are coordinated enough to body block- they can handle some random skill checks. They wouldn’t try to avoid them.
-
No, not really. I main trapper but hate plying against him. I dislike going against Plague as well, because health kits are useless and the community still cleanses at mid to low MMR. There is going to be so many trappers & plagues this week. Maybe a good time for me to pickup and learn a new killer….

Huh?

at the highest level you only see nurses and spirits, not killers to loop for 5 gens. normally using thrill and devour or haunted grounds...
I didn’t mean the very top. I figure at some point they will plateau and reach those first few SWF’s that’ll humble em and send em back down. They def can’t be up there playing that way.
-
Trapper. Thought it would have been Freddy since he’s my favorite horror icon. I paid for him years ago and still don’t use him. Smh.
-
Jokes on them- only sweaty swf are waiting at the top- let’s see them tunnel someone who can loop for 5 gens and have their 3 friends save them foe the EGC face camp.

No side should be able to relight their totem. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Hawkins on both sides. I think it's most balanced map for both sides.
Nooooooooo. Def killer sided like all indoor maps. Myers & Wraith use that as their Cosby suite. Most of the community still doesn’t save the end gens for last, after all these years. And like someone said above, there are rooms with only one way in and out. Gawd help you if you accidentally stumble into one of those injured, while in chase. Long Narrow hallways are great for all the speedsters, and there are a TON of unsafe pallets. Survivors have to be skilled to turn them into god loops, but not everyone is skilled- and not all unsafe pallets can be converted.
-
I think he’s underrated and you just need to put in time to learn him. I’m guessing you don’t play much survivor OP, because the amount of really good Pinheads you see in the wild, would inspire you to keep at it. He kicks ass and creates a lot of chaos. Like Dwight, he comes with the best pre-loaded perks. They’re all good IMO. Not like a Laurie with the best survivor perk in the game (DS) and probably now the worst two (OOO & Sole Survivor). Have you tried the hoarder build with Pinhead? That’s his meta now and he gets great value from it.
-
When I play killer, I go into every match telling myself to just “do the best you can.” It really does help soften the blow if I lose. That’s why I do it all the time. If ######### starts to go left, I accept it and keep playing. As soon as the last gen is done, I will personally open the exit gates and put my character to face the wall in the basement, a la Blair Witch style. That’s his punishment for displeasing the entity. 🤣
Another way I mentally strengthen myself, is by NOT lobby dodging. Idc how many keys, toxic gamer tags, flashlights, and same char with same outfits there are- I play. Those I lobby’s I tell myself “you’re definitely going to lose this one. Take your medicine.” Surprisingly I win those more often then I think I would, so the win is much more rewarding. The ones I don’t, I can handle it.
NGL- the losses that sting me the most are the solo que 4 man escapes. They play like they are a SwF but they’re just plain damn good. Everyone. It’s a blow to the ego because I’m like damn they don’t even have comms and they all worked so well together to stomp the ######### out of me Lolol. Where the hell are these players when I’M survivor?? Lol
-
At the start of the trial, I ALWAYS traverse the map to the left, in somewhat of a clockwise fashion. (So if I start south at the 6th hour, I make why way towards 7, 8, 9 and so forth and so on). I usually don’t run into the killer when I do this. Unfortunately Lethal Purser has a little buzz, so it’s increased my chances ever since Nemmie came out- but I still like my odds so I continue to do it. Also, I do not get on the closest gen to me. I kid you not, it feels like the killer goes to that gen 90% of the time. And that’s why I usually don’t work on the second closest either. I will however check the second closest for Ruin. If it’s in play, I continue my rotation depending on the map. Some maps I know where the majority of hex’s spawn, so I’ll make a bee line for those. If no Ruin and killer gives a noise que (DS Gunshot or PH Sword scrape) from afar, or injured someone not close, I’ll work on that second gen. This is my early match routine every. Single. Time. Lol.

Pretty much. In countries that rely mostly on renewable sources for household consumption, it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but the people who do those things are often not in such countries.
However, as someone else also said, whole industries are far more polluting than this. That's not to say we should ignore either one, but to put things in perspective.
Interesting. Thnx.

Yes, I saw your "key phrase". It's still a mistake to assume anything either way. Social media easily results in an echo chamber, especially since people who are enjoying the game tend to spend more time actually playing it than complaining about it.

Agreed, though I think they need to actually reduce the true randomness of the map selection.
The problem is that a truly random choice will inevitably create lots of duplicate results. In my experience, most nights of playing it almost feels like there's a theme (e.g. keep getting farm maps, Lery's / The Game on repeat, etc). They should add a control that flags the last map played by each person in the current lobby and eliminate those maps from the current pool, or even the past two matches worth of maps. That would actually increase the freshness of the maps in the current lobby's rotation (and would make the map choice feel even more random to the players in the lobby) because they would see fewer times where they play the same map in a row.
Then, just remove all map offerings and leave it to chance. If people want to play specific maps, there are private matches and discord servers to join for that.
Is that’s what causes that?? Same thing used to happen to me for the past year. It stopped though, after the Pinhead DLC. I think I’ve only received the same map back to back a couple of times since then. Just happy it stopped.

Shrug. I usually give the last survivor hatch as is, unless they've been a jerk. The final girl usually gets away in the end, anyway :).
I like that! Never thought of it that way!
-
I think map offerings should be eliminated for both sides, altogether. Just keep the algorithm fair and truly random.

Probably Plague. No one plays her and she is very strong, and she will be made stronger with the buffs she is getting.
I agree. Same as trapper. I’m not looking forward to their buffs. Especially Plague’s because she makes med-kits completely useless, and many players keep cleansing, then getting infected 1 min later when they have to unhook someone or accidentally run into her soon after.
