Subtle hacking is the worse. Those players on both sides who use slight speed hacks are scum. Survivor is a little easier to pick up on, but a slightly fast killer is very subtle and confusing. Sometimes you question if they have STBFL, but when you realize you were the first encounter- it doesn’t add up.
-
Pig’s add-on that puts the trap on everyone at start combined with not seeing the boxes is hella strong. I have yet to survive that, let alone any of my solo Que teammates. We all fall victim to it- every time.
-
Run fear monger (or whatever it’s called now). It’s the new Meta and has proven to be quite effective, so no “I shouldn’t have to Sacrafice a perk slot blah blah blah” excuse.
-
I haven't seen you Pyramid Heads in forever...
-
Because, kids & teens. Just kids & teens.
-
Has any one successfully got Pentimento to 5 stacks? The few times I ran into it I always got rid of the Hex totems again. Does the killer keep the tokens or lose them if the totems are permanently cleansed? The wording is confusing to me in the description- I took it as totems have to be lit simultaneously, in order for the exit gate value to apply.

Let's not. She's fine.

Yea I wondered the same thing as well. Whenever I run into killers who camp and tunnel, I stare back at the bubba with Claudette’s face on- and wish for the remainder of his games be filled with sweaty 4 man SWFs who have flashlights and teabag at every pallet.
-
They’re fine as is. Only thing I would change is one blessing per totem for each survivor. So if i blessed the totem in the main building and it gets snuffed out, I can’t reuse that same totem again. I have to go bless the shack totem. That one gets snufffed? Then i have to find a third. So 5 potential chances.

The only change I'd make to saboteur is that it shouldn't go on cooldown unless you actually get a sabotage off.
Besides that, it's fine the way it is.
And technically, yes, it does show you scourge hooks within 56 meters, they just don't look any different from the regular ones.
Agreed. I would add for it to show the auras of the hook as soon as someone is downed. Not enough time to plan sometimes which of the closest two hooks the killer is taking your teammate to, while they are getting picked up. Sometimes I’m confident he’s taking them to what appears to be the closest hook atm, when they completely head in the opposite direction for a different hook. Sometimes I try to wait and see where the killer is taking them, but then i didnt give myself enough time to sabo.

I imagine that gets very boring after a while, and any one with a conscious will feel bad for ruining the experience of others. When word dropped of what constitutes as a win for both sides, I immediately focused on escaping. I only did gens, didn’t go for saves, hid in lockers to avoid Barbecue, never body blocked, and always opened the exit gates and escaped. That was the most boring 48 hrs i have ever played in this game. Plus i felt bad for escaping the match and not even trying to help my teammates after all gens were done. It wasn’t worth “a win” or raising my MMR. After those two days I went back to playing how I used to by doing totems, body blocking, helping teammates etc. and whenever I escaped it felt much better I had more fun.
-
A certain content creator rang the bell on this and I was utterly shocked they didn’t know any better. It makes you exhausted and the killer now knows you don’t have dead hard. Dead Hard extends chases more, and bails players out if used properly. You can’t “Overcome” any killer power in the game, but you sure as hell can Dead Hard a Huntress Hatchet or Deathslinger shot. Pyramid Head has you in a confined space and you need to get to an opening? Dead Hard through his torment trail if timed correctly. Killers can see you use dead hard earlier in the game, completely forget, and fall for it a second or even a third time during the match. Thats costly.

The only counter you listed there is franklins and thats more of annoyance if anything.
Heal slowdown doesn't matter anymore because of CoH cucking it hard.
I was giving perk suggestions to counter medkits- I only saw this in the original post & not CoH.

I've never seen someone suggest using Overwhelming Presence before to counter items, probably because you can't afford to run meme perks like that. Medkits actually counter things like Sloppy, not the other way around. And I shouldn't be limited to 2 killers if I want to not worry about healing.
Nerfing medkits is not realistic & it’s not going to happen. We have options available. Although they are not the best, they can alleviate some of the stress associated with the speed of medkits (personally i think they are balanced & fine). Sloppy slows down healing by 20%- an emergency medkit gives you a boost of 50%. Having them heal at 30% now, could be a difference maker if you catch them with say Nurse’s calling. Maybe you get to them just in time before they fully heal and down them, as opposed to 50% where they just finish healing in your face. Then it’s a hit and another time wasting chase to pursue. There are options and you can try different combos with perks and add-ons.
As far as Legion & Plague goes- It has nothing to do with being “limited to 2 killers,” but more about experimenting & increasing your skill set. Everyone has their fav killers, but if medkits are that bothersome- then it couldn’t hurt to learn & optimize Legion & Plague so you can have more games where that item is rendered useless. It’s good to switch it up. I get the whole “i shouldn’t have to run this perk or use this killer to counter this mechanic” argument- i really do. But it is what it is, and with only 4 perk slots available for both killer and survivor- we all are leaving ourselves exposed to something.

It doesn't mean anything anymore - it used to mean that the killer was camping if the arm movements were the rapid ones. But that's something that's been forgotten about over the years and not everyone knows/knew anyway. So it really doesn't mean anything now when you're flapping your arms as a survivor, I do it because I don't like to just sit there and click buttons instead.
Players waving their arms on hook just because, is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. I wish players would stop doing that. I wish the community could get on the same page with this, & actually have it mean something- but that would be quite difficult.
Personally I think it should mean it’s safe to come get me, no one else is coming. As soon as you see someone coming, or the killer is returning, the hooked survivor should stop flailing. Flailing survivors make me get off my 85% gen when someone was already going for them, then I have to run back and try to finish when i see someone else go for the save. So I ran across half the map for nothing, because you were flailing out of boredom. Makes for fun times.
-
Nah, that doesn’t prove anything. There are too many variables to cover in order to make that assessment, and Otz can’t cover them all in one stream.
Time of Day
MMR
Region
Platform
SWF or no SWF
The game is SWF sided. Plain and simple. Not killer sided, not survivor sided- just plain F’n SURVIVE WITH FRIENDS SIDED.
-
@coaltrain503 They need to play killer more, and you need to play survivor more.
-
People understand it’s just a game, and you can’t win every time- but getting stomped constantly is not fun. It defeats the purpose of playing the game. Killers look at how things are now vs. before when they enjoyed playing, and can single out the things that have slowly sucked the fun out of the game. For a lot of killers it’s MMR, because they are encountering too many SWF consistently. When the SWF is toxic, it’s even worse.
I agree with you on killer mains needing to play survivor more, so they can see it’s actually not a cake walk either for us solos. SWF are the problem, and they make the game imbalanced for killers & lone players. If I was ever to make a asymmetrical horror game, I would not have teams in public matches. There would be an option for a private lobby with sliders & menu options you can adjust.
-
I think they are fine as is. They have counters in the form of Sloppy Butcher, Franklin’s, Nurse’s Calling, & Overwhelming presence with anything that boosts your terror radius. This is why you are allowed to see what survivors are bringing in- so you can adapt. Killers should be able to switch their characters in a lobby, though.
@danielmaster87 you know who you should use if you don’t already? Legion & Plague. Those two negate healing- ESPECIALLY Plague. With these two you can focus on anti-loop & gen slowdown perks, while their main power negates healing to being useless.
-
IDK man…COH is the new Self-care and I’m noticing too many of my teammates being focused on relighting their boon on the other side of the map, instead of finishing the last gen or two. I lost a game to this because my 2 teammates kept focusing on boons when we were three genned. Killer whittled us down.
-
I told you in that other thread a lot of immature kids and teens play DBD. It’s a video game so us adults are usually the minority. Do yourself a favor and look at the profiles of players who are toxic- you will see a trend of indicators pointing to them being minors. It’s not always the case I know- but we have to start taking children into consideration whenever you see a lot of bad behavior. Watch when VHS comes out- you’ll hear all the kids on the mic in nearly every game. F13 was the most graphic & goriest Asymmetrical Horror Game and it had waaaayyyy too many kids in there ragequitting, teabagging, cheating, glitching, team killing, cursing you on the mic, screaming, making noise, etc. etc.
-
Your guys are not taking something into consideration- Que times. Que times supersede MMR. If there are not enough High MMR killers to go around, it doesn’t matter how many games in a row you lose- you and every other mid MMR killer will get placed with a sweaty 1% Swf for that evening. Pay close attention to how fast your lobbies Que up when you’re killer. Especially if there are already 4 in there when you join or 4 immediately join after your lobby is created.
-
Everyone is acting like VHS is going to dethrone DBD or something.
Hopefully it’ll take the majority of the immature camping, tunneling, ragequitting teabagging children/teens away from DBD, due to its cartoonish looks.

For about a week. If even that.
2 games of getting tunneled of hook realising they are defenceless is all it will take for survivors to go back to actual usefull perks.
There is always a survivor perk each chapter that get's talked about how overpowered it will be. Most of the time it is powerfull but outshined by the meta.
This time though. It really doesn't make any sense.
Overcome is just... bad. I think it's close to the worst exhaustion perk in the game. It's really mindboggling to me how people think it's going to beat dead hard.
Yea, I don’t understand the fire drill for this one either. They get exhausted for 60 seconds afterwards, so you know they do not have DH after that. And the speedsters like Blight, Billy, and Wraith should be able to catch up quick. Overcome will just be December’s flavor of the month, then ppl will go back to DH.
-
Kids and teenagers. When are y’all going to get it? This is a video game and a lot of little kids and teens play this game. Immaturity leads to toxic behavior. Yes, adults do it too. Yes, there are skillful sportsmanlike adolescents- but a great deal of them are unsportsmanlike. To face camping, to ragequitting, to teabagging, to cheating, etc. etc you have children to thank.

That’s high MMR for you. Kind of glad I’m not up there. That sounds boring. I get a decent rotation of killers in mid-MMR, but tbh even that is getting stale recently. We need more cosmetics and they need to bring back 2x BP weekend events. I’m taking longer breaks in between my grinding sessions for new builds on different chars. It’s becoming tedious. A BP event would add a nice spark for us grinders, & cosmetics for those who appreciate digital eye candy. At least the next chapter is dropping soon…
-
I think Trickster is the most boring killer to play with. I do not get any satisfaction or excitement downing survivors with his knives. Maybe catching two bodies with main event is ok, but he’s mostly meh.
I do agree he is annoying to go against, and introduced one of the most annoying killer perks in the form of Starstruck. But he’s not popular. So best take your medicine when you vs. his annoying ass because he does add a little variety to the game when you run into him. And because he’s so boring to play with, a nerf would only drop his usage further into the toilet. Like someone said above, he needs a rework. Idk how, but something more fun- especially for the gamer using him.

Now since she was introduced into the game along with boon totems I'm pretty sure you all noticed an increase of hex totems getting knocked out the beginning of the match. The totem rng is just terrible because ruin always spawn in the most obvious places ever like next to a generator ( besides maps like rpd, midwich and etc) . The best case scenario is just to maybe run haunted and undying, It really irritates me how fast ruin gets cleansed every time I run it and survivors power bomb these gens like there's no tomorrow and I lose because of it.
Haunted & Undying is a great idea. Btw the meta is shifting away from Ruin/Undying/Pop for the reasons you said. Killers are more so targeting the end game and preventing exhaustion perks now. Maybe combine your idea with the new Meta…

Kind of late to the party…the fuss with MMR has stopped. You’ll see the occasional post now and again, but at least the front page in General Discussion is not flooded with threads on them. Even I stopped complaining about it. Seasoned vets who were stuck in elo hell for being altruistic now know what constitutes as a win, so the better of us played selfish and climbed out. Now that we are where we are supposed to be, we can go back to being team players, martyring, doing totems, body blocking, taking aggro, etc. Doesn’t matter if we go on lose streaks either- for the most part we stay with our skill set. It’s not perfect and I still prefer the old ranking system, but knowing how to raise your MMR made it better than when it was first introduced.
Solo Que can still be a pain at times though, but we just have to accept not every game will go the way we want it.

I mean, I ask because while I was on hook, they did the "rr r rrrrrrr" thing.
they didn't even hat me...
If you’re on hook and they do that, that’s them being toxic. You can’t boop on hook. You kind of have to “read the room” to see if it’s a boop the snoot scenario. Like two of your teammates DC’ng & you have 4-5 gens left, or you haven’t seen the killer for 8 mins with no one hooked or injured, and pig crawls up to you snarling. But even then, nothing is guaranteed.

- If he is trying to always whip you can try faking a drop and he will swing assuming you will be animation locked and (depending on tile and nemi location) can hug the loop and get out of the way
- You can choose to infect yourself via a zombie early to deny infection gain(hitting an uninfected survivor advances his tiers significantly more than hitting an already infected one)
- Nemesis has a .33 second window where he can drag his whip, the animation does not show this and this could be what you're getting hit with, the player can shift a little bit left or right and depending on terrain in between you and him he can still get a hit in this state.
Lastly, if you are having significant trouble with his whip and regularly fail just hold W nonstop and don't try to loop him, you will still buy a significant chunk of time if he is only whipping you(2/3 whips depending on things). You can still buy 20+ seconds doing this at the very least.
Killers are awful at the start of the game and is time goes on they get stronger. Nemesis is designed such that he emphasizes this even more. His early game is weaker than most killers(A power that does nothing and gives away 8 free speed boosts/hits). Now, if late game rolls around and he has T3 he is significantly stronger in chases and loops.
Thanks, I appreciate it. Yea I didn’t know about the .33 window so that may be it.
-
No it wasn’t. No one asked for it, and no one complained about him. Deathslinger was actually one of the most balanced killers. Some dev must’ve played the game for the first time in a long time and got his ass handed to him by a good Deathslinger, so he went and nerfed his ass.
-
Another Killers have it bad, survivors have it good thread. It’s SURVIVE WITH FRIENDS that makes the game bad for both solo Que and killers. Get that ######### out of public matches and the game will be much better. Who populates the Top 1% of Survivors? SWF. Whenever your favorite streamer is getting their ass handed to them on stream, what do they usually say? SWF (and they’re right). Who used to destroy the “killer” (forgot the appropriate name) in Resident Evil Resistance? SWF. Who neglected objectives and kept killing Jason players every single match? SWF.
SWF is busted and doesn’t belong in Asymmetrical games, other than in the form of private matches. Please stop saying the game is survivor sided, when it’s SWF’s that causes your matches to be frustrating and not fun.
-
Better question- how do you go against very good Nemesis’?? I can drop a pallet late, early, fake drop it- and he still tentacle whips me nearly every time. How do you dodge that thing on a good Nemesis, while looping a pallet? I try ducking, going left, going right- nothing works. Are good Nemesis’ aiming for the middle or something? If so, then that means TS will always make contact with your hitbox, right? I don’t get it.
-
You sure don’t gripe like a new player- more like a seasoned vet. I seriously doubt they are losing money, but I get your point.
-
The game is not Survivor sided- it’s Survive with Friends sided. You killer mains need to join us Solo Que players more often & more consistently. It’ll open your eyes. A lot of the stuff that doesn’t work against SWF works well against solo Que. And the stuff that DOES help against SWF is completely BUSTED against SQ. And that’s what got Wraith’s cheap ass nerfed. Still isn’t enough in my opinion, but I know SWF runs circles around him in his current state so I’ll compromise & take what I can get.
SWF needs to be removed from public matches. The game launched without it, and personally I believe it was by design- not a time constraint to get the game out.
-
@Irisora said:
What you are experiencing is games againts SWF (4 coordinated survivors with comms) and games againts 4 random people.
When SWF go to sleep the game is slighly killer sided thats why you get easier matches. But when SWF are up the game is survivor sided. This is the main problem of DBD, having two different games inside one.
THANK YOU. FINALLY SOMEONE GET IT!!!
This is why SWF needs to be removed from public matches. Let them get a 5th friend then they can play Kill with friends & take turns being the punching bag- oops I mean killer.

SWF. Number 1 thing that cause imbalance in Asymmetrical games.

That is what I do, currently since the cheater pandemic started, I've been dodging private profiles because I'm tired of seeing cheater, I'm not joking when I say, I have seen about 20 cheaters just this week alone, I'm tired of getting taken hostage and dc penalties.
You know what’s sad? I have a theory that a lot of DBD cheaters/hackers never played DBD before the cheats. Whenever I watch a content creator run into some of them, they look like they do not know the basics. They start off with light blatant hacks, then after failing a few times to either catch or evade the opposition, it’s like they just say “F it” and turn on the full blown hacks. They stop trying to do their objectives, and just focus on being a spectacle in the trial.
I guess what I’m really trying to say is, some people out there just came to this game because they see it’s online and you can ruin the experience for others with these cheat menus they purchased/acquired.

Like I'm not one to play devil's advocate or fence sit when it comes to discussions between two parties especially with survivor and killer side of the community however as much as i agree mostly with killer's frustrations with dealing with perks that are too forgiving to the survivor I really have to ask ... Can you really blame them?
Like I seriously think that a good amount of killer mains see other killer mains with actual good points for the games balance and go into their games with the mentality that all survivors are out to get them or are toxic just because they got stunned with a pallet once or something. God the amount of times I've been camped on hook, like not as a last resort or because the killer saw all of us no... CAMPED from the start of the game, killer gets no bites so they go on a chase, then I get unhooked finally and they abandon chase to go back for me. Even with SWF there's not much you can do to avoid a deathhook, just struggle for as long as you can and hope the gens get done.
I'm not against killers using the strongest add ons, perks, hell take NOED at least it'll get me to search the map and play the game. But being tunelled out of the match at the start, no items in hand no teabagging etc really blows. And 9/10 times those killers are super toxic about doing it too. One example is a killer tunnelling the whole game and only getting one kill and accusing players of gen rushing when the case was just a teammate being good and mind gaming them and them not knowing when to abandon a chase.
Like I seriously try to advocate for killer mains I really do, playing killer is so stressful against a good team of survivors with meta perks, but with tunneling and camping still being as strong of a strat to get an early kill I can see why so many survivors run the same few perks over and over, especially in solo queue where it seems like a hard requirement to run kindred or borrowed time or DS etc etc. (Personally I have nothing against slugging)
I keep bringing up one aspect our community is overlooking when it comes to toxicity, but I never get responses or some sort of acknowledgment- and that is a lot of this behavior is from KIDS playing DBD. Dead by Daylight is a video game, and kids/teens play videogames. We all have this pre-conceived notion that every character we see on screen has an adult behind the controller/keyboard, when that’s not true. I actually think adults just may barely be the majority. There may be just as many kids playing as there are adults. We really need to take this into consideration. I’m on Xbox- whenever I see toxic behavior like ragequitting, and I notice it being a fellow Xbox player- I look at the profile. And what do I see a lot of the times? Red Flags the account belongs to a child or teen: uses full name displayed to the public (Huge Red Flag), No custom gamer pic, Currently now playing Fortnite, Roblox, or Minecraft (I know adults play these as well, but c’mon- you get the picture).
Don’t get me wrong, adults do partake in toxic play, and there are kids who are sportsmanlike and have skill- but the average little 11 yr old Timmy who makes butt jokes with his friends, plays DBD and can be seen as the camping/tunneling killer type, who ragequits when he’s losing. PC is no exception. 16/17 year old are still immature and will use cheats/hacks as well as camp/tunnel.
I wish there was a way to know DBD’s age demographic. Friday the 13th had a TON of little kids & teenagers, who pretty much ruined public matches with their cheating, team killing, mic screaming, and ragequitting. There were actual 6 year olds playing that game, and F13 is waaaay more graphic than DBD as we all know. So imagine what we would hear in our game now, if the mics were turned on…
-
Wow. Does he become a second killer?
-
Nope. I’m getting bored as well. My sessions aren't as nearly as long as they used to be. When I think about it though- SBMM and knowing what constitutes as a win killed this game for me. I had more fun as a Red Rank 4, martyring for my team to escape with 26,000 BP and Pipping. I miss those days.
-
Yea I hate when I decide to play killer and say to myself I’ll make it fun for the survivors by giving them a nice chill game of “spreading the love all around” so they dont get stressed or feel tunneled, only to run into some smurfin 3 man SWF clicking their flashlights and teabagging. I took all my good perks & add-ons off for this??
