This matches my sentiments about Artist. She’s in need of buffs to help her deal with all of these. Shorter recharge on shooting crows is I think my primary recommendation. The other is crow bombs should probably be reinstated. Also consider making the cooldown faster for Artist after her crows are taken away by flashlights Or running through them.

The man created a thread asking for help to go against what he perceives to be quite a formidable foe, and you reply to someone else suggesting she gets a buff to her one small weak spot lmao

You’re cruel bro 😂. Rephrase in a way to help @Adaez (and the rest of us) on how to counter/exploit her please. 🙏

I don't believe BHVR has ever straight up come out and said that but anecdotally people who use the block function have said they get paired up with people they block anyway.

I've never blocked anyone so I cannot personally confirm this though

    Thanks.

That sucks. ######### placebo effect on me smh.

  • I’m a survivor main who wanted Boil Over to get a buff, and even I have to admit this ######### is busted RN. It needs to be toned down a smidge. IT should get you off the killer’s shoulder 25% of the time- not 50%.

This is off topic but Dead Man’s Switch also needs a nerf. Busted as well.

    3) Blocking does not prevent you from matching with players.

    @tippy2k2 said:

    Soooooo...a few things

Point 1. Yes, cheaters should be banned but you can literally go to a cheater website right now and get a brand new account (game and everything with all the cheats installed) for $5 or less. Until BHVR puts in some kind of actual useful anti-cheating tools in the game, cheating is going to be rampant

For point 2, the entire nature of the game is that it's every man for themself. Dwight has it right in his "Bond" perk that says "We have to work as a team, I need you to survive so that I can survive!". Everything on the survivor side of the game is designed around this philosophy.

For point 3 (and also for point 2), you realize that blocking people in the game doesn't block you from being paired up with them, yes? All blocking in the game does is stop you from being able to receive in-game friend requests from them. As to killers camping, I would also like it if they could find a way to deal with it but unfortunately there are times when camping IS the only real option for a killer and I don't see how they could put in a fix that doesn't smack innocent killers (or be abusable by SWFs like the "Stop the timer if the killer is in the area" thing they tried back in the day that failed because SWFs would just "loop" their hooked teammate, letting everyone else hammer gens while letting the person on the hook never be sacrificed).

Has the blocking thing been confirmed? That’s so dumb. If that’s the case it should just say “Block Communication” or “Block Friend Request.” Any other platform or Videogame, Block means just that- they’re Blocked for matching up with you.

Are you trolling on here? Cause you’re definitely trolling your teammates when you do that. Solo Que is hard as it is. You’ll get better going against those two if you stay in the game as long as you can. Trust me. You’d be surprised how many games you can survive and turnaround after a very shaky start. The momentum can always swing in the survivors favor.

Try to work on that “giving up so easily” mentality- it’s not healthy.

I used to play PC crossplay off all the time. Matches were better. Then hacking exploded post-MMR and I get hackers pretty much every game with crossplay off on PC. Not worth it anymore.

Wow the hacker situation was WORSE with it off?? Interesting…

  • @ZaynXT said:

As PC-player when I tried it, my Matchmaking was faster. 30 seconds instead of 3-4 minutes. Also the teammates were better.

But you get only matched with players who also turn Crossplay off, so we had the same players nearly every Match. Survivor and Killer.

    @Zachcjjj said:

on pc in my experience you just play with the same people its extra sweaty and people get extra salty and queue times aren't even shorter

Hmmm that sucks- I was afraid of that. I wish games could make it so that if you have cross-play turned off, you could still be matched up with those who have it turned on. For example, if all of us are on PC and y’all 3 have it ON- you could still be put in a lobby with me and the killer who both have cross-play OFF. Then, based on circumstance-the very next match the three of you could end up in a lobby with a 4th survivor and killer who both have cross-play ON. I guess in a perfect world, huh? Oh well.

I’m just tired of the damn subtle speed hackers. It’s such horse #########. Moving in tier 3 bloodlust at the start of the match. Had a ######### huntress just now who barely threw hatchets cause she could just catch up in one loop and M1 the ######### out of us. She had so pretty ugly whiffs like she was overconfident- like she expected to land a hit when I wouldn’t drop a pallet. That and swinging into pallet stuns. Mind you all of this after looping ONCE, and being right on top of me. Smh.

Isn't the game of chicken kinda the point of the perk though?

Plus this is irrelevant if survivors are spreading out on generators like they are supposed to...

So I really don't get the point of nerfing it.

It’s a bit strong for solo Que. When you have bad teammates who don’t do gens or objectives, it severely punishes the ones that do. Too many games where I’ve been working on one gen for what feels like 6 mins because Scourge Hook keeps kicking me off (trying to train myself not to repair when someone is picked up- getting better at it) or DMS kicking in when I have to go for a save or solve Pinhead’s box, or I’m in Tier 3 madness.

When I have teammates who actually do gens and we lose, I don’t mind. But when you have ambulance chasers running behind killers with their flashlights, it makes what used to be a frustrating experience, an infuriating one. I can’t tell you the last time I’ve had so many 4/5 gen losses in one week smh.

Times like these I wish I knew what killers are running Scourge/DMS in advance cause then I would equip the Boil Over build and send their ass to RPD lmao.

  • I would pay good money to see them go against the killers who like to talk ######### and berate clean solo Q survivors…

  • Yea this ######### is definitely not fun, bro. Whether I play killer or survivor. Even if I 4K as killer it’s not that much fun any more because it’s sometimes a chore to get the job done. And it’s worse if I get stomped.

Solo survivor is such a ######### crap shoot now what the hell?? 123 FML

I’m a cosmetics guy, and those are no longer “doing it for me” right now (kind of excited for the leaked Valentine”s Day skins though lmao).

It’s this. Annoying as hell to play with these mashed potatoes. They’re not even good enough to be regular plain potatoes. Ragequit/DC whenever they get downed by Pinhead or The Artist. They don’t even try to get good smh.

  • I consider Blight actually balanced, like how Deathslinger used to be. You should play with him to better understand his movement and what he’s capable of, and what his limits are.

Tip: If you make it to a tile where he’s on one side bouncing, and you’re on the other- if you two can see each other, stay in the center of whatever is between you two. He has to pick left or right before his next move or he’ll be forced to take a shot. If you move first, then he pretty much gets a guaranteed hit. He’s waiting to see what direction you’re heading before he strikes, after a bounce. If he goes left, you go right and wrap around to the other side and vice versa. If he’s forced to take a shot, then move to another tile to create distance or play the one youre at if it’s safe. Always put obstacles between you and him. His slide is bullshit I agree. Sometimes you just gotta hope he messes up and whiffs.

    I’m genuinely curious.

The other day I loaded into a lobby where one of the players put in chat that I was toxic for advertising my stream by having TTV in my name. As well as a lot of killers have been face camping and tunneling me for having TTV in my name. I normally keep a positive attitude throughout all of my encounters like this and don’t let it get to me but it made me wonder… is it right for a player to automatically assume a streamer is toxic without going into their stream if they are live? and is it OK for the killer to only tunnel the TTV without motive or seeing if they really are toxic?

The one thing that annoys me is that people automatically assume that I am toxic just for having TTV in my name when they don’t come to check out to see what kind of streamer I am.

anyway I want to know other peoples thoughts on this topic! Thanks!

Toxic? No. But you guys do have a bad reputation for sucking at the game though. Also being entitled. Too many of y’all keep running to the hooked survivor while the killer is chasing y’all. That doesn’t make any sense. It doesn’t matter if you have borrowed time. Someone else will get the survivor while you keep the killer distracted. Why trade hooks and make the killer’s job easier, and your teammates’ job harder?

Sorry for the rant, but I have TTV PTSD. 🤣

That way, you can only kill not so good survivors... and problem arise when you realize it.

That’s not true. Our favorite streamers prove daily they can do it against really good survivors in High MMR. They’re not going to win every game, nor beat certain teams, but their skill allows them to do it consistently.

Meanwhile me. Who got it without even trying. Because I don't care about achievements 😂

    Lolol

  • When he has Tombstone, his left hand is “open.” Think relaxed and to the side, as if you were walking down the street with your hands not in your pockets. This is very hard to notice while in chase. But when you do notice it, or see one of your comrades fall victim to it- do like @CookieBear says and get into a locker if he’s on you. If he pulls you out and drops you repeatedly until you stun him, quickly get back into the locker. You want to force him to hook you so you can have another chance.

When Meyers does not have Tombstone, his left hand is a clenched fist to the side.

One side note though- if 3 of your teammates die to a Tombstone Meyers via the insta kill and you know this with 100% certainty- if he corners you in a locker and swipes the air for you to come out- be a good fellow gamer and let him kill you. That means he’s trying to get one of the hardest (if not THE hardest) achievement/trophy in DBD. If he has it already, he’ll most likely just pull you out and hook you. I did it before for someone and he was VERY grateful. Luckily for him we were both on Xbox so he was able to message me what he was trying to do. I didn’t get the swiping thing at first lol, plus i didnt even know it was an achievement. GL.

P3 Bubba, like the ability to punish mistakes and can easily snowball. You like any builds on him?

Believe it or not, the Bloodpoint Build is actually working well for me in mid MMR! I just picked up Bubba last December (never played him prior) so I haven’t given any real thought to what perks would synergize with him. I know he’s good with Bamboozle and that’s about all I know. But going back to the BP build: Beasts of Prey, Barbecue, Distressing, & Thrill of the Hunt. I think Distressing & Thrill of the Hunt is what’s most effective for me because survivors know they can get one shorted, so they tend to leave gens early when they hear the Terror Radius further than usual. They may have a head start, but eventually I’ll catch up and one shot em. Bonus for being in chase moving through the map, causing Distressing to get others off their gens, not knowing where I’m coming from. Some of them run into me when panicking. Others fall victim on gens from me getting Beast of Prey Bloodlust II Insidious, because I broke off a nearby chase. Thrill of the Hunt takes a while to bless so it gets a lot of them in trouble when I see them on it with Barbecue. Then it becomes an Obsession for some to cleanse cause they’re worried I may have NOED waiting at the end, which will take longer to cleanse. They’ll neglect gens trying to cleanse but I’ll apply pressure to em for a down.

What about you? Any recommendations for Bubba? Other than the old and new meta that works for just about any killer lol.

  • I’m currently playing Bubba, and I do my absolute best not to tunnel & face camp. Not even with SWF’s. I don’t like when killers do that to me. I tolerate it because it’s not against the rules, but it’s not a good feeling. I don’t want to be the cause of that feeling for others. Beating survivors with the “survivor rules” is waaaaay more rewarding than camping & tunneling. It makes you a much better killer too. No one can say ######### to you, and if they do- it just shows they’re salty for you beating them at “their own game.” The smart ones won’t say anything because they already recognize this, and will have to give you props in silence. You’ll even get the occasional genuine “gg wp.” The Icing on the cake? Give the last one the hatch if you’re feeling generous that match. You just prestiged to S Tier ass kicker, baby.

On another note, I’m fine not “winning” every game with 2k’s. Like someone alluded to above, who wants to keep raising their MMR only to square off against even harder opponents in the likes of sweaty SWF’s and hackers??? I take solace in my losses knowing that I’m comfortable in mid MMR, where most of my matches are against survivors of my skill set or lower.

  • Usually by the time the first survivor dies, I have a pretty good idea what the killer is running.

Now if the streamer/killer is running NOED, Remember Me, No Way Out, Haunted Grounds, Devour, and/or Bloodwarden- then yea i can see a monkey wrench getting thrown into the mix.

  • What is that?

  • Bubba. If you play him straight up without the stereotypical camping and tunneling he is known for.

  • Some kid copying Yerv smh.

    https://youtu.be/0XDwLzcoOLo

You can’t stop it in solo. Your luck randos will get theirs off and finish a gen like you said. A 4 man would have to 99 5 gens, cleanse all 5 totems, finish the gens and leave the unlucky one with a bear trap to hopefully find hatch. I wouldn’t even have them bother trying to get to that box unless whoever is in chase communicates they took her far away and she’s committed.

  • Sorry to hear. Give him a scratch behind the ear for me.

    How long is the wait?

I don't think blocking them makes a difference. You can still be matched with them.

I knew someone was going to say this…are you suggesting the block option doesn’t work or because they’re a “hacker?” Cause if it’s the latter, I seriously doubt subtle cheaters care about console players blocking them. It’s the griefers who show their flamboyant hacks in the game, that are prone to removing the block.

Now if you’re referring to the former, I personally have never got rematches with any one I have blocked. I only block ragequitters and the aforementioned flamboyant hackers, and not even those guys I’ve seen again.

  • I’ve had that same exact build on my Jane for half a year, & it was completely useless. I grinded hard to get all four to Tier 3 and was very disappointed it didn’t work out they way I envisioned it. I’m in what I suspect mid MMR where the killers do not slug at all. Boil Over barely phased the killer when he carried me, & most killers already knew where the hooks were on most maps. Those who didn’t had bright charms to guide them there.

Enter 2022 when I learned Boil Over was getting a buff, I got excited. Finally this build is going to come in clutch and be lots of fun, I said to myself. Whoa- to my surprised this ######### is completely BUSTED. It works a little TOO WELL. Not exactly what I wanted. I was hoping to wiggle off 25% of the time, not 75%. 😹 Then I played killer…people were still getting off without me dropping from a height or giving them time to get value from Flip Flop. I could see the hook not too far off and still couldn’t make it because I’d get stuck on a small rock or cactus in route.

Anyways, I for one will not be using this build/Jane until it gets nerfed next patch. And it’ll definitely get nerfed. I’d bet Auric Cells on it- that’s how broken it is.

  • Yea probably cheating and using devour as a decoy. A lot of us don’t pay attention or don’t know it’s 5 tokens to kill with devour. I actually don’t remember until AFTER whoever is first to get downed (myself included) by it, is placed on hook. Then I’m like oh yea, they need another token or two. Cheaters prob bank on that.

  • @Junylar said:

The amount of killers using these "subtle" speedhacks for extra 2-3 % move speed (like running with Bloodlust 3 without actual Bloodlust) and wallhacks (they always know where you are without aura-reading perks) is enormous, at least on EU servers. It's funny that you can't even properly report those, because you can't prove it was an actual wallhack and not just their "intuition", even if you record it.

Yea I’m running into more and more of these killers already in Tier 3 Bloodlust at the start of a chase. You can’t even loop ONCE. I’m like how are they that fast at the beginning of the game?? No speed add-ons on perks post game. I’m going to start blocking all of them now. These are the most dangerous cheaters.

  • @anarchy753 said:

How is that new? People have done that since she was added. It hasn't been changed because there's no realistic way to change that without just making the traps worthless, and in doing that you may as well facecamp someone because all of the gens will be completed anyway.

Yea that’s not new- and it’s not common either. There are a few players that play way. Unfortunately OP just ran into one of them. Sucks, I know.

‘Pig got buffed with her charge speed which is insanely fast. I don’t think enough killers caught on to it yet. The few I ran into since yesterday recognize it and were on top of everyone pretty quickly. I’m glad I caught on after my first match with her. I don’t play around pallets if I see her duck- I run away from that tile quickly just causing her to whiff half the time.

  • Good question. Vigil is a little underrated, and I like leader because it makes teammates heal you faster. Even if they do work between floors, it won’t give much value. Gens don’t stack on top of each other, so both you and your team won’t be “near” each other for long. You most likely won’t know what they’re doing or what direction they’re heading in above or below. And Vigil doesn’t work in chase, so even if you stood still while they looped the killer directly above your head, or below your feet- you get no value.

  • One could argue those are great talking points for the game in general. 😂

  • I’m a survivor main and I think COH is Overrated. It’s just the new self-care, is all. You nailed it with the survivors throwing the game trying to keep it up. I’ve been in those games. Had one two days ago. Unfortunately we were three genned. Me and 1 other player were trying everything in our power to get one of the last 3 gens done, while the other two asshats both kept trying to keep their COH’s up. We were going against a Doctor with Scourge Hook and Pop Goes the Weasel. He wasn’t very good. At that point in the game, I think he only had like 3 hooks. So between all the static shocks, hits, and being chased of gens- me & good teammate were doing our best to grind one of the gens. While the other two would not take him away to the other side if chased, and immediately go and relight their boons after he snuffed them out for 5th time. In between all that, they would get downed and placed on a scourge hook- regressing the gens i was on. Then Dock would come over kick it with Pop, static blast, and cause me and good mate to have to run away and snap out of it. Then we would try a different gen but same thing. Rinse and repeat until good teammate had enough when he got downed and saw the other two not working on gens. They were probably on their totems again so he just DC’ed smh.

I’ve had numerous other late game throws because of COH. Some of players who use it, were the same ones running to the corners to self heal against a Legion. 🙄

  • Just like skins, I like/enjoy charms for myself- not to “show off” to others. I imagine anyone else who likes them, feels the same. It’s exactly like you said- no one else is paying attention to them, they’re for my enjoyment only. Charms add cosmetic replay value and what I look forward to the most in Rifts. If anything, there are waaaaay to many empty slots in the free rift and they should fill a few of them with shards & BP.

  • I buy chapters, so I save my shards for skins. I’m about to log in and see if my 6K is there so I can get Yui’s new skin.

  • Play killer more and you’ll understand why. I’m not saying you’ll start doing it yourself, but you’ll definitely get it.

    in Why Comment by KerJuice
  • The envelopes don’t hold a candle to the snowmen being an obstacle for killers, in the winter event. I’m more concerned with Dead Man Switch making solo Que harder.

  • It’s a little busted & will most likely get nerfed due to abuse. I expect to see the drop from heights get a reduction lower than 25% wiggle meter gained.

    Intimidation

Great (and funny @GeneralV ) responses in here, but this one is the best. I feel like the really good S-Tier killers in the community rock the same skins. So when I see them as a survivor main, I start to get worried. Usually my apprehension is warranted. Wraith with the candle fire, Mr. Puddles Clown, schoolgirl Spirit, Nurse with the red burgundy dress, Pretty Lady Bubba, Hospital Gown Meyers, Purge 2 Neon Legion, Bull Head Trapper, etc etc.

The way I see it, these killers take pride in being killer mains and will not hesitate to shell out the cash for their favorite killers. When I see Candle Fire Wraiths destroy 80% of the matches I encounter them in, it gets a little intimidating when I encounter the next one. I usually say “oh F* “ after they uncloak.

There literally is no SBMM. I play at night and get matched with people that have 50 hours. Zubat has a video from the other day getting matched with someone that had 8 hours.

  • They must be including Security, Janitorial, Cafeteria, & Human Resources staff in that number. No way they have 850 devs working on this one game and it’s in the current state it’s in.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Easy solution - dont care about stretched resolution.

Sure, it should be fixed. But it will not be fixed, at least not anytime soon. So why should I care about stretched resolution? For most cases, you dont know if the Survivor or Killer used stretched resolution and there is no way of proving it. You can only assume. And why should I get worked up on something I cannot prove anyway?

The only way to know if someone is using stretched res if they are a streamer. And most of the time I just have a good laugh if I see that Blight-player with his Blight in the lobby who is more wide than tall and think "Oh my, stretched res of doom" and thats all.

IMO caring about this is just a waste of time. You will have a bad mood without any way of changing anything about stretched res or even knowing if they are actually using it.

if i am a fellow survivor who escaped or was killed and i spectate, i can tell who is stretched if they end up in chase. They usually hug the walls tight and look at the floor. ######### is lame & unfair to the killers. Props to the more popular YouTubers who used to do it, but stopped at the request of their fans. They adopted & adjusted accordingly. I still suspect some of them using Smurf accounts to bully low levels for content though.

  • Yea even when winning killer is not exciting. Forget about losing, that’s far from fun- downright infuriating at times. Doing meme builds with low expectations does help though. I have a complete BP build with bubba: Beast of Prey, Barbecue, Thrill of the Hunt, & Distressing. Slapped on his add-on for his chainsaw not to insta-down but give extra BP. Now I average 29-30K BP even with no kills. I purposely don’t tunnel or camp. That makes for a rewarding play seeing the hooks I get w/o an insta down. If I “lose” with this build, I get more BP than if I didn’t have anything- so my time wasn’t wasted. I’m not a day one player so I’m still grinding Prestiging & all perks for every character.

Just recently starting doing an endgame with trapper: No Way Out, Remember Me, NoEd, & Bitter Murmer. Then slapped on the add-ons for the traps to reset every 30 secs & to hurt survivors if disabled. I place traps at the exit gates then M1 the whole game. I dont even bother picking up and placing traps. The random traps get set in the most wide open spaces and shocks me when someone actually runs into one of them. I even run into them by accident sometimes, not expecting a trap to be there (not paying attention). Kind of adds a refreshing twist to playing killer, with meme builds.

    You're kidding, right?

(Please leave Artist and Blight alone, they are fine as they are)

I agree. I don’t like facing The Artist- but we as a community just need more time to get familiar with her. Playing with her would help a lot of ppl who cry nerf to understand her better. It’ll also help them to understand she does require skill to anticipate player movement, and to have map awareness.

My only issue with Blight is his sliding. That’s very misleading and since it has been confirmed to be unintentional, it needs to go. But if they decided to leave it in, I would accept it. Blight is pretty much balanced to me (not 100% though), like Slinger was before his nerf.

    Leave Blight & Artist alone.
