Why does it seem like every killer you run into has infinite Iri & Purple add-ons?? A killer could tell the lobby has 4 solo que survivors by the way we load in, and still equip them. I’m like “damn try hard, maybe save them for a 4 man??” 😤
-
I think there is something we are overlooking as a community- Scourge Hooks. They are the killers’ “boons.” And they are getting better with every update. The new one with Onyo that lets the killer see aura’s after unhooks for six seconds is going to be very strong. Imagine that on a god tier Huntress/Artist or a killer already mind gaming a chase at a tall tile? Scourge Hooks can’t be snuffed out. In the right hands, this is going to be a problem. I can see the DC salt: “how did he find me?? F this.”
Let survivors have their boons. They’re overrated IMO.

Ok well then that's worse if they were experienced players and were sacrificing themselves. I want to actually play the game with experienced players who know what they're doing and not killing themselves.
I know your pain, bro. Trust me.

Nah they were injured and just ran up to unhook every time. It was pretty much like they had no idea and if they did why were they just throwing themselves at the hook perpetually?
I agree with @bm33. I tend to observe some players more than others, especially after I die & spectate. Some of these players really don’t care and just want the points from grabbing you off hook. It’s the same ones that’ll grab you off while in chase. Not everyone mind you-but there seems to be quite a bit. They have NO patience. I assume usually these are kids and/or teens.

Oh, sorry that people have friends.
So, play KYF with no game progression yourself if you don't wanna deal with SWF.
Y’all taking this personal. Relax with the sarcasm. I’m a solo survivor main who occasionally plays with friends, & who occasionally plays killer. Things that help killers compete with SWF tend to be a bit much for solo Que players to handle. Communication on mics TRUMPS everything. Wraiths last buff was a perfect example. It made him more viable to go against SWF’s (still wasn’t enough though), but he was too much for solo Que players. That’s why he got nerfed/dialed back.
‘A lot of killers dodge lobbies when they suspect it’s a 4 man- that says a lot. I stand by what I say, and truly believe that’s what the game needs. It’s not going to happen, it’s just my opinion- so the passive aggressiveness in here is unnecessary.
-
@Dionysus42 keep that same Ghandi energy the next time someone verbally assaults you, your mother, or the woman/man you love in person. When your loved one gets offended, remind them “it’s just words.”
-
You know what disappoints me? The devs acknowledging that the Bloodweb grind is very tedious but not giving out 2x BP like years past. That doesn’t make sense to me. We have so many new players with waaaaay more killer and survivor characters to grind out, yet for some reason BP events have been 1.5x since the pandemic started. Cmon now. I know we have the rifts now, but they’re not the same. The accumulation is spread out & slow, as opposed to a BP event that accumulates quickly and rewards you for playing long sessions.
-
I wouldn’t mind. I just wish some charms wouldn’t clip through certain articles of clothing.

They are not minority.
I am also playing with my friends sometimes. Not always but DbD is more fun with friends. Even you lose games.
For the sake of balance, I truly believe they need to go.

If they were the minority, then surely there wouldn't be so many complaints about them... Unless of course people just lied about how often they face swf teams.
People don’t get camped and tunneled every game but the forums still get flooded with complaints.

Yeah remove SWF and after a month DbD is dead.
Imagine not having the option to play with your friends in an online game. And no, custom games are not count.
They’re the minority. Killers & solo Que players would be very happy. The game would be better balanced. Personally I don’t think anyone would miss those entitled brats. This forum was constantly flooded with complaint threads about them for years. They can kick rocks in custom matches. 😹
-
What do I think? I think SWF needs to be removed from public matches and restricted to KWF. Maybe cap SWF to Two players for public, but definitely not 3 & 4.

As a Nemesis player I have noticed that there's a few frame lengths where the Killer can move the tentacle so it hits the survivor, and if a Nemesis player gets to at least level 2, then pallets are all but useless, so I recommend going for stealth as much as possible, and try to gen rush. Unless Nemesis has some detection perks like Bitter Murmur, Spies from the Shadows and Whispers, then you should be fine.
Damn I was afraid of that. That’s kind of broken. Thanks.

Weird that it disappeared just like that. I guess you already tried turning it completely off and on again?
I did and it didn’t work. I ended up having to unplug the console and reboot to fix everything. I posted it earlier and now I’m just waiting for a mod to close the thread. Thanks again.

@chargernick85 thanks bud. I figured it out. I had to remove dbd from quick resume, unplug the series x for a minute, then reboot. Seems to be ok now. The option is back in the game menu & crossplay is on.

Granted, double BPs every match, stuff on the bloodweb cost double tho.
I wish we had a health and balance patch.
Health and balance patch granted, however that same patch increased map sizes and the algorithm spams whichever maps you like the least.
I wish Survive with Friends gave the killer extra BP, per survivor.

Other than that I would say the pride flag. I have it on both Trickster and my main survivor Feng.
Nice. Yea i want killer charms as well and I think Trickster would actually be one of the cooler ones. I already like his and Yun’s charms from their chapter. Very colorful.

I came in year 2 or 3 (right after Legion dropped), so if I saw how it was now, back then- I would have definitely appreciated it graphically and liked all the cosmetics, but then I would be intimidated by the difficulty level rising for both sides.

Yeah a survivor can just get into range, activate it, then leave. That's exactly what they do when the killer is someone you can't save from. But still, in solo Q it's not going to help that much. You need the coordination for other people to be slamming gens while it's active for it to be any good.
BT/DS/Kinship/Exhaustion perk would be a great anti-tunnel build on a few members of a SWF. The killer will absolutely get punished with losing the game sometimes off those perks if you are of equal skill to them.
It's so strong that's banned in the tournaments too, at least from being used multiple times. The game is balanced for solo.
Ok thanks.
I may not get full value from Kinship (ugh not a fan of the ST DLC Perk name changes at all), but it has saved me a lot. When it came through, it shined really well. Even when I die. I’m just glad when the other 3 make it out.

So I've played DBD on both PC and XBox. Yes, I also think Survivor have a small advantage with MnK. However, at the end of the day, playing smart is more important than running all the maze tiles as smoothly as possible. I guess a lot of PC gamers think that consoleros are generally worse gamers. Unfortunately, even some fog whisperers say so. A fact that in my experience has never been confirmed.
Oh yea definitely subjective. I was curious to see if there were quite a few people who felt this way and if it contributed to them tunneling console players. Based on the responses here, I can see that’s not the cases. Some players have posted here and admitted to it (and I’m grateful for their honesty), but they’re in the minority. Most players don’t pay attention to what platform everyone is on. There were even a few that said they believe console players are weaker, but they still wouldn’t tunnel them for it. If it happens it happens whenever they need to remove the weakest link. I get it.
Again i want to thank everyone for their input. A bit paranoia on my part. Just was on a really bad streak and i couldn’t figure out for the life of me why killers breaking off other survivors just to hunt me down. I think I was just the weak link and they needed someone out ASAP. I think it just ties in to the influx of tunneling and camping killers have been doing to compete.

No; kinship gives no indication it is working to your team. It is strong enough it's used in tournaments but really needs a SWF to get the most out of it.
The strat there is if the killer is camping a survivor to death 1 person just swings by and activates it, then the team secures another 3 gens for the kill.
Oh ok thanks. Thats too bad it doesn’t show up to let your teammate know. So one player doesn’t need to stay? They just need to run by, activate, and hop on a gen?
-
Same thing happened to me when i hopped on at 4:30am- I had to reboot the console.
-
Oh, and another decent anti-camp perk is Breakdown. It can be a little situational at times because the killer can just move whoever got downed to another hook, but from my experience a lot of killers tend to panic when they realize the hook is no longer there and make bad moves like drop the survivor & try to chase after whoever got away.
-
@AsherFrost said:
1. A lot of the new and reworked killer perks are designed to try and keep the killer from camping, by giving info on where survivors are, the new killer is also built to try and move away from camping, by being a teleporting type who makes going for the sneaky hits fun again.
2. Don't forget kindred. Best anti-camping perk in the game by far. Also WGLF definitely doesn't hurt. I think a lot of people tend to overlook them because they aren't perks that stun the killer or provide a health state, but I'd argue that 99% of this game is about information advantage.
Yea Kindred is very good, and Camaraderie is very underrated IMO. It’s helped me out a LOT in solo que. It gives my team more times to do gens when I have that one person who is nearby but too scared to go for a save (rightfully so), and too green to realize they really should be on a gen. At least it gives the other two survivors get value. Then during endgame my team has time to heal and find each other because i also have kindred on that build. Worked out a few times for everyone to escape.
Question, does any one know if Camaraderie gives your teammates the walki-talkie icon to let them know it’s active, if they’re close by?
-
@Bartlaus said:
Why should players on other platforms get different treatment? Aren't we all playing the same game?
Some people think most console players are at a disadvantage due to MnK, so they will be easier to take out. There have been a few comments in here alluding to that. I’ll be honest, I’m kind of leaning in that direction. Take the house of pain for instance, the not so good one with the window closed at the top of the stairwell leading towards the back of the house. When you get to the top of the stairwell, there is an open window on the right, however there is a couch/chair(?) a few feet in front of it. PC players can fast vault that with ease while in chase, but console players have to be a little bit more precise with analog sticks. Someone above said console players tend to 360 slower than PC players, which I imagine to be easier to track. And there are other little things too that add up.
I recognize however they’re not the end all be all factors, and there are plenty of godlike console players that can run circles with the best of PC’s elite.
-
I agree. It’s one of my biggest pet peeves. It’s unnecessary. Especially when you have two other teammates who can go for the save. No need to trade that early. Besides, some killers will get the down on the unhooker and STILL tunnel the unhooked out of Borrowed Time. It’s best to run the killer as far as you can from the hook if you are seen going for the save. Otherwise, let the killer get away far enough to the point where he may not want to return then unhook. If he comes back to tunnel, the BT will serve as a backup & give the unhooked somewhat of a fighting chance.

This is a fun read and always perfectly on the edge between honest to god rand and ludicrous blathering. I enjoyed the read a lot, but I con offer no insight, nor consolation.
Sigh.
Notice how everyone here is actually contributing to the thread? What’s the point of posting a passive aggressive insult, along with stating you don’t have anything to say? Please, take your negative vibes somewhere else- we deal with enough toxicity in game.
To everyone else who has posted or will continue to give their accounts, thank you for your feedback.
-
As far as the window and pallet vaults go, just keep these two thing in mind: Even though you cleared a window with a gap behind you while you’re in the air, your feet need to be touching the ground to avoid a hit. For pallets, you need to be on the opposite end of the pallet to avoid a hit- you can’t be sliding in the middle (although the killer’s weapon can’t reach the middle). They both look stupid IMO, but without the hits working that way- it would be much harder for killers to get survivors. So I get it. Vaults are like Huntresses hatchets- they can be fine tuned to be precise but then she would barely hit any one.
And to the tech nerds yea I know hitboxes, blah blah, servers, hit validation, yada, yada, yada- I get that too. Just helping OP accept it from a visual standpoint.

Ahhhh I didn’t think of it that way- Exposed Status. Yes! Cause BT stops Bubba/Hill Billy Chainsaw. Thank you!
-
By your theory, one could make an argument that there will be an increase in players using cheats. Stretched res can be viewed as a gateway to hacks since its been removed. If what you say is true, those players will need a crutch and seek out subtle hacks like X% Haste.
Scary thought.
-
When I’m playing survivor and see a killer who was having a rough game open the exits (rare), I leave.
When it happens to me as killer, I open the exit gate if I am not in chase, then go into the basement and face the corner. If I am in chase, I will down and hook the survivor first, then open the exit gate and follow the same walk of shame to the basement.

I STERNLY BELIEVE:
Maps are ALSO factored in your games if you don't use offerings. That is the hidden x factor in their MMR, along with putting you with better groups of survivors. I don't care if it can't be verified without thousands of player-side games. I don't care if I sound like I'm complaining.
Certain Killers I use CONTINUE to get the SAME MAPS that can be CONSIDERED UNFAVORABLE for their power. With a degree of consistency I DO NOT believe is coincidence.
