  • Let Trapper p/u & carry as much traps as he wants, at base. It’s 2022- limiting his carry amount is no longer feasible. Setting up still hurts him even after the buff. Not every build has space for Corrupt Intervention.

Congratulations. The player base has never been smaller now.

Somehow I don’t think killer mains and solo Que players will miss them… As long as they’re happy and the game is balanced, ppl will still play. Definitely not as much as before, but crossplay will help a lot.

Eh...I don't think this is the answer. You'd basically be removing SWF from the game, and a lot of people enjoy playing with their friends.

I'd rather help solos get closer to the level of SWFs and balance the killers accordingly.

You asked how would we fix the game, and this is how I personally would fix it. Had I known there was a “right or wrong” answer, I wouldn’t have said anything.

    1. Remove SWF from public matches. The rest will fall into place and devs can balance the game out properly.
    2. Remove SWF from public matches. The rest will fall into place and devs can balance the game out properly.

  • Right now they are experimenting with matchmaking, so i dont know how that’s affecting your games recently. They’re keeping it a secret. Hopefully your matches will go better when the experimental is over.

  • Was multiple survivors sabotaging? Cause if so, they nerfed it once before do to SWF- and any further nerf will make it useless for solo que players. Hell, I find it hard to sabo NOw as a solo que player. It’s a crap shoot to pull off. A lot of killers find the next closest hook a lot.

  • I dont think killers have to go easier per say, but at the very least try and read the room. If the three left are good, continue as usual. But if they are bad in chase, no need to camp or tunnel if that’s your regular strategy- you’ll eventually kill all taking turns. Plus you’ll get more BP and Pip better.

  • Yea technician is a ######### perk even after the rework, so this is not a bad idea.

  • idk…it worked well for me when I used to use it. But then again, I combined it with Distressing so i guess it spooked a lot of players. Even the really good ones…

Because many of those 7-8k survivors are lowering their MMR. I used to get many matches where survivor SWF would destroy me, then refuse to leave after opening the gates. They clearly won, but lowered their MMR.

MMR is easier to game than ranks were. With ranks, you could not do much without zero pip'ing. Now, you can run the killer forever, do 5 gens, 5 totems, open gate, refuse to leave and lower MMR while leaving with 25k bp. Absolutely insane.

    Interesting…smh.

But.. the killer is already hard patrolling the 3 gen.. you are already playing the 3 gen game and trying to win the attrition war. Wouldn't it be better to smash gens while conserving pallets and hook states around the target area before bothering to play the killers game?

I know it happens unintentionally in solo q. I had one earlier today and they ended up disconnecting because the gens were all in sight of each other and i killed the booner earlier on. But i have had people rage in the end game at other survivors when i was just 3 genning from the start of the match like they did something wrong.

3 genning from the start is a rare strat i dont really run into these days. If I saw that, i would just keep challenging you buy doing one of the outer gens that has the safest breakaway & loops. I would anticipate the inevitable and as a result, have somewhat of a head start on that gen for the 3 gen. Then hopefully my teammates will start doing the furthest gen from mine and the tug of war begins. But again, 3 genning from the start is very rare for me to encounter, so I wouldn’t sweat it. I imagine the same for a lot of players. They DEFINITELY don’t do that at high MMR. You don’t see your favorite streamer running that strat from the start nor encounter it from the start. If it happens, it’s usually after 2 or 3 gens are done. But then that still falls on the survivors for letting it happen. Lery’s is unique because it has one iteration where 4 gens are right next to each other. Bad RNG if survivors get that one. I saw it with Detective’s Hunch a couple of times and couldn’t believe how close they were to each other. There may be 1 or 2 more map iterations like this that escape me at the moment. Those, you’re screwed on.

  • Flashlights have been shadow nerfed constantly throughout the years. The timing/window for getting a save blind is very small now. Unlike before, flashlight saving does require a little skill. You can get the blind, but you won’t get the save if you don’t know the exact timing. Takes a lot of practice to nail it now. That’s why you see all these bad players running behind injured survivors in chase, thinking they’re Ayrun. They trying to get good at it.

When you’re at dropped pallets, kick the god ones and eat the blind. For the good ones, fake like you’re going around it then quickly return to kick it. Ignore the bad pallets. Play around that, and mind game them into sliding back and forth till you get the hit. Bad pallets usually work in the killer’s favor.

I personally don’t chase anyone with a flashlight clicking. They’re usually really good at looping and will waste your time. Take the free hits they give you, but don’t chase after them. Get rid of their team first. Those jerks don’t usually do gens anyway and just follow you around like asshats, hurting their team. This is exactly why so many solo Que players lobby dodge when they see a survivor with a flashlight. When you down someone, face the wall if possible when picking up. If they go down in the open, fake the pickup then move & look around for the flashlight user. If you haveHag, Trapper, or Demo- fake a trap/portal on downed survivor and do the same thing.

If you don’t have headphones, invest in a pair. They come in handy when you’re blinded at pallet breaks. You hear which direction they ran off to- especially if they’re hurt. If you don’t hear anything or see scratch marks leading away from the area, they are most likely still close and may have walked behind you when you were blinded.

I’m not good with flashlights but I think any more of a nerf and they’ll be useless. Lightborn really is a great counter when you see them bring 2 or more. Use it to bait and pretend like you’re looking away, then smack them if you can. Survivors don’t bring flashlights every game so eventually a killer will get his adept without Lightborn.

  • @Zozzy said:

A 3 gen is a 3 gen. It doesn't matter if there is still 5 to do or there are only 3 left if the killer is focusing on that particular area you are already playing the 3 gen game.

Do people not get this? Do they really think its always the other guys fault for taking the free points on gens the killer refuses to patrol?

There’s a reason why he refuses to patrol them- he’s trying to create a 3 gen situation. Us as survivors can prevent that. You just need to be mindful of gen placement, be familiar with the maps, and do your best to keep track of what gens your teammates are on, and which ones they have completed. It’s a strat that I take pride in executing.

You don’t do the corner gens first- especially if you spawn at them. I’ll only test them for Ruin. No Ruin? My strat is to run the map counterclockwise to the next nearest gen. (For some reason my chances of running into the killer are low- unless Lethal Pursuer is active). Depending on the map, I may or may not do that gen. Ideally you want to do the middle gen/middle left & right gens first if they can be worked on safely. Then work on the two gens left and right of the main building if they have one. Do this correctly and now the killer has to patrol the main building, and the bottom two gens. That’s very difficult unless they have map control like Sadako, Freddy, Artist, Demo, etc.

‘Not every map is setup up the same, but a lot are. For those that are unique, I have adjusted strats for them, but they’re the same idea with minor tweaks.

Thanks for the maps info, i will make sure not to forget them!

I felt so identified by your comment lol im glad i'm not the only one.

Np bro. I know the solo Que struggle- 3 genned is one of many! 🤣

  • I won’t cleanse regardless. It’s one less pool of power for her. Her power is underrated and is one of the most powerful in the game IMO. Why give it to her for free? She spits on everyone hooked, so you who just cleansed 30 seconds ago now have to save someone, you get sick, then cleanse again. You just gave her 2 pools in less than 90 seconds. Good job. Now the other person who got unhooked has to cleanse too. 3rd pool in 120 seconds. And if she finds you healthy, you go down quickly because most Plagues are actually good at the game and know how to spew over obstacles.

Treat her like Oni and deny her- her power as long as possible. My success rate against Plague is MUCH higher on the teams who DO NOT cleanse vs. the ones who do. And even if we do lose by not cleansing, it’s usually a close game. Like all gens done but No Way Out saved the win for her.

I hate going against plague for this reason. 3 teammates need to be pushing gens, while the other one in chase needs to be mindful of Bloodlust, and loop safely. No greeding. Apparently ‘every survivor” has DH anyway so, there you go. Use it wisely. And don’t let Thano discourage either. It’s worse when she’s snowballing with her power. Have some patience.

    in Plague Comment by KerJuice
  • Lmao no they don’t!

  • I’m like you- I’m very mindful of gen placement. So much in fact, I like to think I am the sole reason my team doesn’t 3 gen. When it does happen, it’s usually if I’m the first one found by the killer and was able to run him for 2 1/2 gens. By the time I get off of hook, then maybe healed- that third gen is done. Now we may have a potential problem. A lot of times I try to signal to my teammates not to finish the second to last gen they’re on cuz they’ll 3 gen us, and even message the ones who I can, but it NEVER works. They finish it any way. Nowadays if it happens, I don’t stress it all. It has to happen to you on occasion. I take pride in knowing I personally prevent a lot of 3 gens. I pay attention to where all gens are getting done.

The two maps you speak of are Azarov’s Resting Place & Suffocation Pit. I made SURE I learned & remembered their names years ago lol.

‘Another great reason not to do the first gen you see is because most killers will bee line to that gen first. It’s usually the farthest one. That’s what I do as killer, and I mostly find at least one person on that gen. I prefer not to get chased first due to the camping/tunneling strat, so that first gen is a hard pass unless I spawn with 3 ppl and someone has Prove Thyself.

  • YES. But it’s not going to happen because of you know- “Hockey.”

All joking aside I think it would take a lot of work and BHVR is not interested in that. It would be worth it IMO.

Rework the Perk entirely, everyone wins. No more luck based invulnerability and no more unbalanced and uncounterable distance

Lolol yes that is an option as well. If they do that, they need to remove useless/redundant perks too. We have way too many healing perks in the game and Red Herring sucks IMO.

  • The invulnerability needs to be removed- not the distance. If you took away the distance, the perk is useless- even with invulnerability. All DH would be doing is delaying the inevitable if its solely used to avoid a hit. The killer is just going to catch up to you shortly after. Even if they fell for the bait the first time & you managed to get to a pallet/window/loop safely, they’re very unlikely to fall for it again & will just wait it out. The distance is what makes the perk good. Plus no invulnerability means killers can’t get baited during/after hook plays.

Having a reaction perk (distance gone but invulnerability remains) on these ######### servers is not ideal.

  • @AsherFrost said:

    What's worse than being camped?

Not having the killer near you, but your teammates still refuse to go for the unhook because they'd much rather use you as a "safe" point to run to any time they are chased... Until you die, of course.

That's literally how it went almost every game when they attempted that very "fix". It's difficult to say if the killer players or survivor players found it to be more annoying, but what is certain is that the experience was worse for everyone than camping.

So this was actually a thing?? First time hearing about this- wow.

  • Bubba’s is pretty bad. If they dont extend his chainsaw sweep (not many that do), theyre kind of useless.

  • Pinhead. My teammates DC every time he has Hex Plaything, Pentimento, Scourge Hook Pain Resonance, and or Dead Man Switch. They don’t even try. And on the rare occasions they do, no one goes for his lament box and we get stomped to oblivion and back. We die with 10 gens left- it’s that bad.

  • Just like the Los Angeles Lakers, the rest of the league (our community/survivors) do not fear him.

All kidding aside, it really is whatever. I have no reaction. If anything sometimes I’m grateful for the “breath of fresh air” since he is rare to run into nowadays. Even the really good annoying ones.

‘Now give us someone like Trapper, Doctor, or Hag- and you can just imagine the groans coming from all four headsets. They’re a different type of annoying.

I think the bar is supposed to continue like normal it's just faster. It repairs 15% over a period of time not instantly.

In the past you used to see the bar increase when you successfully landed a difficult skill check. If they intentionally changed it, I’m not a fan.

  • Can confirm brand new part is not working as well. When you hit the difficult skill checks, the repair meter does not advance. It just continues as normal. I’m on Xbox Series X.

I've already gotten in the habit of watching a gen regress for a moment just to see if it's regressing faster since you can tell that way if they have the perk or not.

If they do and I just got off hook I'd probably tap it but perhaps not stick around.

That’s a good strat. Thanks. I’m guessing the sparks fly out like ruin and pop in addition to fast regress?

  • It’s definitely on its way. Hasn’t quite caught on yet. Very strong. It’s going to cause a lot of “tunneling” intentionally or unintentionally, I’m afraid. After just getting hooked and healed up, if you hop on that regressing gen with COB, that’s your ass. Most killers will break chase for that (as they should). You won’t even know it has it.

The new meta is great for top MMR, but we are getting our ass kicked in low-mid MMR. Too many players give up so easily whenever they face strong gen regression or gen denial. A large portion of our community are kids and teens- they don’t have the patience to adapt to the new meta.

It’s actually slightly better than 50/50 the killer will find the hatch first simply because they move faster than the survivor.

🙄 😑 I’ve hatched escaped in the killer’s face way more than I’ve had it closed in my face. Same thing when i spectate. Same when I play killer- I got more in my face escapes. Whenever killer finds hatch, I’m usually not any where close and vice versa. Same when i spectate others. I chalk it up to RNG, current location at time of 3rd survivor death, & luck (both deciding where to look). But definitely not the killer “covering more ground” because he’s a little faster.

  • It’s pure 50/50 RNG like you said. Sometimes you will get a hill spawn that will let you see both exit gates, clear sight lines from up there, and enough time to get over to either one once you spot the survivor. If they manage to get out because the gates were too far apart and there were too many structures between the two, just chalk it up to them getting lucky. No reflection on you because you killed the other 3. They just got blessed with good RNG.

  • He was too strong for low-mid MMR. I get it, it helped him at high MMR- but they’re the minority. You literally felt like you were just dying to someone with a speed hack and nothing else. No mind games, no 50/50’s for the average player- just straight downs. Didn’t help that most Wraith users at the time were just plain toxic jerks either. I saw a lot of players DC and Ragequit against him. That was not a fun experience to deal with him and his bullshit buff. I’m glad he got nerfed. I didn’t like playing against him before the buff, and I still don’t like playing against now. Wraith can suck a dick for all I care.

open chest, cleanse totems, unhook, heal,be in chase,go for flashlight saves.

Cmon now. Those don’t take long to do and we all know players do all of the above.

Flashlight saves?? 😐 You’re reaching there. Killers hate that and you know it. Plus ppl do that as well, anyway. There is no answer to the b.s “gen rush” phrase. I guess MAYBE you can blame it on SWF’s who coordinate with toolboxes, but then like everything else broken in this game- that’s a SWF issue.

  • I’m confused. Hasn’t he been saying for weeks he believed she was A tier and it’s just ppl playing her wrong? What changed? High MMR?

  • Hmmm I guess for the most part. Kind of. I personally don’t see much Bills any more so I would drop him down to C-tier. Jane and Jeff drop down to D-tier. I rarely see them unless I myself am playing them. Yui is C tier for me- I’m surprised you run into that many. Ash I would move up to C, and Ace up to B. David down to C. I don’t see him like I used to. Weird now that I think about it. He used to be popular years ago.

This. Exactly this. I saw a video two days ago of two twitch streamers going against each other, and the survivor was raging because the killer was slugging him. When you saw the killers stream, she did it because she felt bad he was on death hook and wanted to give him more chances at playing. He said he was going to report her, and he did via the in game menu. It was so stupid and cringe.
