You know that perk is terrible when Ayrun can’t even make it work.
-
One thing I never understood about game development & crossplay is, why doesn’t the game pull players from the cross play ON pool, to match with those on the same platform, playing with cross play OFF??
For example, OP and I are both on Xbox. He has his crossplay OFF, I have mine ON. If we Que up and are in the same MMR range, as an option the game should be able to put me into his lobby. I agree with him, we are forced to play with it on when I’d rather have it off because of the PC cheaters and MnK advantages PC players have.
I see a lot of PC survivor players lobby dodge when there are too many console players anyway, so that tells you something.
-
If SWF were removed from public matches, this wouldn’t be a problem. The game won’t die. Thats a lie. Buffing solo que wont help.
#removeSWF
-
By removing SWF from Public Matches. Actually, thats exactly how I would nerf everything that needs balancing.
-
It’s unfair yet so many players don’t want SWF removed from public matches. Everyone complains and think buffing solo que and killer afterwards is somehow the answer. It’s not going to change anything- comms trump everything.
-
Yup, I agree. But it happens with other games too like OVerwatch & GTA Online. These event weeks just bring out the worst of the worst for some reason. Makes you wonder what the hell were they playing before.

Sorry you found out that killer mains are reasonable and not absolute idiots.
Don’t apologize- there’s still hope/time. One person said “yes,” after that- maybe more to follow? 🙃
-
@Dead_Harder said:
No, i dont want the game to die. Dunno why you want it so badly
I want it so bad, I can taste it. 😋
All kidding aside, gotta say I’m surprised in the responses here. I thought killer mains would’ve been on board. So many threads on people complaining about vs. SWF then they turn around and say “no don’t take em out. The game will die.” Ok. Then stop complaining. The game would drop in numbers at first yes, but it would bounce back. People forget DBD launched without SWF & it was a hit. There’s still Kill with Friends Mode. They would just no longer be in public matches. BHVR could even give that mode a set of toggles to spice it up.
I don’t think buffing solo Que improves the game- even with the supposed balances that are to follow after that.

In my first 5 games of the bloodhunt as a solo survivor:
Game 1: 2 DC on first down, 5 gens left. Me and the Nancy just hook suicide. No point in playing
Game 2: 3 DCs after 1 gen done. Hatch game, waste of time for hardly any BP
Game 3: found with Letha Pursuer in the first 10 seconds and immediately hard tunneled and camped
Game 4: 1 DC immediately after they were hit with Legion's Frenzy, a minute later the other 2 DC
Game 5: Killer using hacks, then posts the website for an automated cheating bot in post game chat. This is the 2nd time ive gotten this SAME Bot killer(same name too). Reported it with video over a week ago. Zero response from BHVR. So I find it true when people say BHVR doesn't really care about the quality of their game anymore.
I don't like SWF because people talk too much and/or have open mic/no mic discipline. Then playing Killer, the MMR is still broken. I either get games so easy I feel bad for killing them despite not tunneling or camping at all, or i get Sweat with Friends. I'd rather go back 4-5 years and play DBD when it didnt have all these glaring issues.
So what you’re saying is you’d like to go back to 4-5 years when there was no SWF so you can play killer again??

I get that you’re like politicking for your SWF argument but I don’t think you read OPs body. He’s talking about players quitting.
Oh I read it alright…looking to start a legion of SWF haters. That’s why I asked that question.
Btw the bottom of the pot tastes good. 👅 I’m hungry. I need make me a full pot somehow…just need the right ingredients. Swore killer mains was it, but turns out no. Drat.
-
Would you prefer SWF’s get removed from public matches and restricted to Kill With Friends Mode?
-
@GentlemanFridge said:
No. It's a silly suggestion that doesn't consider the after effects.
The “after effects” is literally stated in the OP. Along with the question of taking that risk.
-
######### that. Remove SWF. They’re the ones ######### up the game. Player count is going down any way, so ######### it. I think the game can bounce back after taking a dive. Killers will be MUCH happier and solo Que players don’t have to be worried about being used as bait/a pawn for 3 man SWF’s. It’s the SWF’s who abuse the hell out of DH.
-
Once. Starting to seem like a wasted perk slot TBH. I don’t like perks that are so bad it feels like you’re handicapping yourself by only playing with 3 perks when you really have four.

Or make it like wglf. If it's not a safe rescue you get nothing.
I prefer this unless it’s EGC or less than 20 seconds to death or struggle on a camping killer.

Not a fan of that idea TBH. No perk should take up two slots IMO.

It doesn't ever show up in the shrine because it is a general perk. The shrine is only for teachable perks.
Ahhh mb i thought it was someone’s perk (I don’t use it).
-
New players typically dont buy DLC chars and idk if Dejavu has ever shown up in the shrine before. Besides, they probably dont even know what a 3 gen situation is.
-
I like it as well.
-
I’ve seen killers tunnel players out with BT, DS, and body blocks. If a killer wants you out the game, you're getting put out the game.
-
@Carrow said:
SoloQ is much worse, the skill gap between killers and survivors is even more massive than before and most matches are 12 hooks before the third gen even pops.
Thank you. This.
-
It’s not just killers- it sucks for us survivors too. IDK what the hell is going on. Too many games I get high MMR killers with low-mid MMR teammates. What kind of matchmaking is this?? It’s all over the place for both sides.
-
I think there is a high probability it will get nerfed, and if it does- everyone celebrating will be crying about Sprint Burst in 2023.
-
They do it because they see Ayrun & his buddies doing it. Gamers can be such sheep sometimes, it’s pathetic. Reminds me off how some Overwatch pros punch air or Bastionmain spams the “hi” emote during downtime, to stay focused. They do it because of how their brain works. But then you have these wannabes in droves imitating those actions and it does absolutely nothing for them (not all, but most).
As far as why Ayrun does it- I have no clue. I can only speculate it’s because it looks stylish (subjective).
-
Sprint Burst rips track suit off while on the bench, and grins as it walks to the scorer’s table…
Phone rings: Overcome is focused & warming up in the bullpen…
Lithe pumped, grabs helmet off bench and straps up…
Smh.

Same. None any more. It used to be a nurse or Spirit when I first started playing- even if our team got destroyed. I always appreciated the time and effort players put in to get good with those killers, and gave them a lot of respect for it, while others only hated. Now, it’s just me having a higher tolerance for some killers over others. I can definitely tell you who I have the least fun going against- but not any who I actually enjoy vs.
-
@Name_Unavailable said:
Then nerf anti-loop killers too. Would you agree? Asking to nerf DH when we have Nurse, Spirit, Blight, Artist, Nemesis. etc... Is not fair.
Also spoiler alert: After making DH useless, You all will complain about that everyone is using Spirt Burst. Why did you cross out that last line? That’s exactly what they’re going to do. If BHVR is going to make changes to DH, then they might as well address ALL distance gaining exhaustion perks. The community will just take Sprint Burst, make it optimal, then killers will get frustrated with that. Then it’ll be Overcome once SB gets nerfed. Then it’ll be Lithe when OC gets nerfed. So on and so on.
The others may not be perceived as good as DH, but don’t ever underestimate the competitive nature of gamers to make the 2nd and 3rd best of whatever, a pain in your ass. Killers may even miss DH after seeing a survivor Overcome across the map to a genless area, shack with pallet, or jungle gym for the 20th time. Are you going to follow him all the way over there to get a nice tasty bowl of Fruit Loops, or stay on the side with the gens? And dont worry, he’ll be back on your side in no time- fully healed from that COH boon strategically placed and OC almost off cooldown thanks to sonmeone running Vigil for the team. Rinse & repeat.
-
Despite all the toxicity, this is why a lot of us who are frustrated with this game- keep coming back. We are chasing this exact “high” you experienced yesterday. Matches like this are really fun, and I’m glad you were able to experience it. They are too far and few in between for me, personally. These are the type of games you can actually lose, and still have fun. Like a Sacrafice play so the remaining teammates can escape. Such a great and fun feeling. Or if you’re killer and turned what looked like a 4 man escape into a 2 man survivors on their death hooks escape, mid to late game. Kudos to you for bouncing back- especially since a 2K is perceived as a win for killer now. Good times.
-
I agree with everything but the hook regeneration time matching the cooldown. That’s not fair to the killer. Besides, a coordinated 4 man SWF could (and would) abuse a simultaneous 3 hook sabo in close proximity of survivor getting picked up.
The sabo nerf was too strong IMO. I especially dislike trying to heal a survivor I unhooked with Saboteur equipped, because it makes me go for the sabo before the heal (due to heal action delay when unhooked- which is needed btw). As a result it goes on a long cooldown. Very stupid. Needs to be upon completion.
Definitely need to see the hooks ahead of time (when survivor is downed). Saboteur is pretty bad when you have it as a solo player. It’s just a meme build on SWF’s at this point.
-
Top tier killers are the killers who can hang with the Top Tier 1% survivors. Bubba can not. He will get destroyed if he tries any of his camping/tunneling bullshit from low-mid MMR. The top 1% consists of mostly 4 man SWF’s & killer players who do not camp or tunnel. So if those killers use Bubba and play straight up, they won’t have a consistent win percentage up there. This is why you see so many Blights & Nurses when your favorite content creator streams. Now don’t get me wrong, there are players who can pull it off with him consistently, but they are very skilled, knowledgeable on all things DBD, and in the minority.
-
Keep in mind that perks like Boil Over, Flip Flop, & Breakout exists. Then you have multiple survivors possibly dying in the same area (causing hooks to get destroyed). Those are most likely taken into consideration on the maps where there are so many hooks within close proximity. If too many survivors die in the same area, the last survivor or last two could abuse running over to where the destroyed hooks (from Sacrafices) are, get downed there, then wiggle off. Rinse and repeat as desired. That’s not ideal for the killer.
You’re right where there are maps with poor hook placement (the game bottom floor), so this game does not have consistency across the board. I think those maps are just simply overlooked.
As for the hook offerings, I don’t know if the killer’s value is multiplied in distance by 4 or more, but for survivors, their’s stack so one person using a hook offering will have very little affect. That offering may make the difference between someone getting 99% wiggle then hooked, or wiggle off- but that’s such a low probability (probably the same as Kobying off a hook without any luck offerings).
-
Definitely not an only you thing. I’m not competitive and I STILL feel bad when losing- ESPECIALLY as killer. It sucks, but as long as we are not raging/getting angry, then we are fine and perfectly healthy (mental wise). I call it: “taking my medicine.”
As far as comparison to other games, I think it’s the GENRE DBD is in- which is Asymetrical Horror. The same “feels bad” emotion I get in DBD, is exactly the same I got in Resident Evil Resistance & Friday the 13th. I may even go to say F13 is even worse when you lose and none of the counselors grouped up to kill you. They just played well and managed to survive.
So yea, I know how you feel. You’re not alone. I’m sure there are more players like us. Just remember we game for fun, and to treat this game like gambling- quit while you’re ahead, and quit if you end up on a losing streak. Play something else then return either an hour or so later, or the next day. Hang in there & good luck with your future games.

I have mained Legion for a long time. I honestly thought he was plenty strong enough, easily 3-4k-ing 85% of my games without addons. But to me, that's just the killer role being pretty easy to play. I welcome this new change. Having mained him for so long I know how to counter him really well at pallets, using FOV techs and lockers. He was pretty long overdue for a buff, however. I don't see him getting nerfed, people just need to get used to his juiced up playstyle now. He's incredibly easy to counter if you don't panic, but that buff to frenzy is really, really nice. People just aren't used to it yet. Staying injured all game can be annoying, much like with Plague, but it really puts a hinderance on his power. If you have a solo team that keeps trying to heal all game like they cleanse all game against plague, nothing will get done and you're gonna get smoked so I can see it being an annoyance for a good solo survivor to go against, but solo is just annoying in general. I wouldn't worry. Many people may not even be aware of the change and are just finding out the 5th hit can down. I'll still main him no matter what happens because I'm already used to pre-buff, but for now I'm having a hell of a time playing as and against him.
Good point about the 5th hit. I once messaged a mikaela (ironic)who also DC’ed against a Legion and I asked her why? The game just started. She said she doesn\t play with cheaters and he downed her while in frenzy. 😑 I had to explain his buff and she wasn’t thrilled to hear that either.
-
Nah bloodlust is fine. It does suck when they get it off of teammates, break chase, and catch you off guard with it.
-
I chalk it up to inexperience and poor game sense. I see it too often as well. Sometimes I have to signal for them to move away from the hook. When it’s me I crawl as quickly and as far as possible from the hooked.

No matter how you put it, the Hatch is a pity escape the Survivors have after losing.
Having a Perk (not a base-kit feature, a Perk, that also needs Tokens to be useful) that counters that is fair
I wouldn’t call it that- especially now since it’s no longer a win and just a draw. Because of the solo que element, its needed to give a lone player (that tried his or her best to play in the spirit of the game) a chance, when his 3 SWF teammates were too busy trying to bully the killer and all died. That’s just one example, but there are different variations of it. At least the 1 good player doesn’t get completely punished for 3 idiots. Plus he still has to find it first.
But as far as No Way Out not triggering when the hatch is closed by killer? I disagree. Leave it as is. I hate when it happens to me, but I take my medicine. Kudos to the killer for bringing it. It’s a high risk high reward perk, and he deserves to have it pay off in the end game.
-
Survivors like that are going to be useless regardless. They would just fill that slot with another “selfish” perk and still not contribute to the team , if it didn’t exist. I have a Left Behind build on Felix (with Open Handed) and if I’m the last person standing, I don’t feel like I find it a lot more than when I play another build without it. It does come in handy sometimes and it helps. But there have been times I’ve seen the hatch pop up next to the hook where my last teammate died and the killer was standing right there- more than I care for.
I wouldn’t stress it because remember it’s a DRAW, NOT a win. That person is not doing themselves any favors by playing like that. They are not getting better at the game, and their MMR is not increasing with that build. They’ll be stuck where they are currently, for a long time. Players like that are either new (and they will learn to do better if they become a true fan of the game), or they are just a plain bad casual who will eventually move on to something else.
Rest easy. He doesn’t get the hatch every game with Left Behind- even if he’s always last. Not even 75% of the time. Maybe 55-60%, and again- that’s just to DRAW.

Honestly, with all the poor physics & crazy hitboxes this game has, hugging the walls fits right at home with the rest of the jank.
How would they fix it? Make it so once you touch the wall you stop running? I thought the devs were slowly circumventing it by putting little obstacles and dents around structures to create make shift “road bumps, potholes, & barricades.” Whenever I watch your favorite YouTuber hug tech, all sides to every structure is as smooth as a baby’s bottom, allowing them to get extra loops for days. When I try it, I bump into the weirdest & smallest ######### that doesn’t even makes sense being there.

I rarely run DS, and I remember being camped & tunneled through it by a Freddy last year. That person wanted me out of the game that bad. I had teammates even try to body block for me (unfortunately they weren’t good at it, but at least they tried). It sucks getting found first cause you never know what type of player the killer is until you’re on that hook.
That game taught me if someone really wants you out the game, they’ll risk throwing to get you out. By.

Is this a PC only issue? I’m on console and I don’t have this problem constantly. It would happen to me at least once a month for the past 5 months though. It’s always when the killer is right on my heels too, lol.

I haven't played the game since the Ringu PTB.
On Youtube I came across a video talking about cheating bots; they are not controlled by a player, very sensitive to hearing and may be able to see through walls.
How often do you play against these bots?
And did the gameplay experience remain as it was before Ringu update?
I ran into them for the first time about 90 mins ago (theyre the reason why I’ve been on here for the past hour and a half complaining and warning others. This is very bad. They down and hook everyone very quickly. I had 2 in 3 matches before I came here. The match in the middle was a real player, the first and third one were bots. At the end they had different names. I dont know if the same bot can change its name after every match, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it can. I actually escaped the first huntress bot by 4% off hook and beating it to the hatch with Clairvoyance. I dont know if they are good at finding the hatch or if that needs to be enabled, but it came nowhere near it. Absolutely disgusting time, and I personally didnt find it funny.

The player can watch his bot do all the dirty work and navigate to your stream manually. One button press disables the bot. Press it again, re-enables it. They can take over whenever they want.

Tip: a lot of those reads have to do with where a survivor's head is looking. A survivor is going to double back 90% of the time when they're looking back at the Nurse when she charges her blink. It's just a matter of timing it up. And a survivor will almost always hold W if they're looking straight ahead.
The real demons are the ones who mix it up and manipulate the distance in such a way that you're always forced into long 50/50 chain blinks to land hits
Hmmm…interesting. They’re actually reading “body movement,” lol. Thanks.
